Four of Jane Fonda's instructors take turns presenting an energetic 45-minute, moderate-intensity step workout. The frequent switching of instructors adds variety and interest, and the different teaching styles keep the workout feeling fresh. The choreography starts out very simple, and as the workout progresses, so do the moves, although the patterns never get terribly complicated. Each pattern is taught clearly, practicing the base moves before adding on arms, styling, or intensity. The cueing is excellent. Occasionally one of the participants demonstrates lower-intensity modifications in case you get tired or need to adapt a move for your fitness level; another shows how to raise the intensity for more experienced steppers. After the step workout, Fonda herself leads a relaxing 15-minute stretch--no extreme flexibility required. She repeats stretches, because you can take a stretch deeper if you do it more than once. This is an excellent tape for an intermediate exerciser with some step experience who wants an effective, enjoyable workout and a nice, long stretch. --Joan Price ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Even my son loves to work out to this video!
I have had this workout tape since 1995, and every year or so, I pop it in and work out to it for six to eight weeks to get myself back in shape. It's challenging to a beginner, but when you can go through the whole step programme from beginning to end, you feel as good as if you had run a marathon! I get more out of the stretches at the end of the step tape, than Jane Fonda's segment, so I do my own stretches. My son watched me work out to this tape a few times, decided that Michelle was cute and perky and started doing the routine with me. We still groan when Jay comes up in the last part, and when Laurel leads us out, but in the end we both feel we have accomplished a good fitness workout. Even though this was my first step tape, it is the one I always come back to-it never gets boring.

4-0 out of 5 stars A fun workout!
I have been doing Step Reebok and Kathy Smith's Step Workout for a long time and wanted something new. I purchased Jane Fonda's Step and Stretch and like it a lot. I think the moves are easy to learn and follow. The instructors are very good and make the class fun so that the time flies by! I also love the relaxing stretches led by Jane at the end of the tape. My only criticism is that there are no heart rate checks at all. The instructors remind us to "breathe," but people need to know if they are in their target heart rate zone (I wear a heart rate monitor). All in all, this is a well-produced and well-instructed tape, to me, much more fun than Step Reebok!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun and moderate intensity workout
I have five step aerobic videos- Gilad step in Waikiki, Kathy Smith step workout and power step, Jane Fonda step and ab and this video. I like all of them but this one has become my favorite. The reasons are:

- Moderate intensity
- The moves are kind of dancy but they are repeated a lot.
- The music has a touch of disco music.
- The instructors have unique personalities that they make me laugh everytime, even after 20 viewings. Like most Jane Fonda videos, the atmosphere is very friendly, which I enjoy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Step Aerobic Tape Around
Back in 1996 I bought the Jane Fonda step and this tape was part of the package deal. I've since bought other step tapes (and a few on DVD - although there aren't many around these days since Pilates, Yoga and Tae Bo style workouts are the "in" thing right now), including the Jane Fonda Step and Abdominals workout but this one is still my all time favorite - so much so that I wore out my original copy and recently bought another one. I work at an intermediate/advanced level and this tape can still get me to work up a good sweat - but back in the day when I wasn't in such great shape, this tape also catered to my beginning activity level - no problem.

There are many aspects that make this tape superior to other step tapes around. First of all, it's fun, the instructors are great and enthusiastic enough to get you motivated without being annoying, and it's long enough to allow you to feel like you've really done a decent cardio workout. Many other tapes out there have only 30 minutes or so of cardio, but this one has 40. Also, the four instructors that guide you through the workout are clear, on cue with the music and enable you to keep focused on what you are supposed to be doing by giving you the heads up before there's a move change. Another thing that makes this tape one of my favorites is that it's clean and sharp and the moves build off one another in each of the 11 intervals in a logical way. Other tapes I've bought for the step don't seem to do this very well - often throwing in random moves that don't seem to have anything to do with the one you just did or the ones that follow. The 11 intervals that comprise the workout gradually build up from a warm up, peak at about interval 6 and 7, and then gradually take you back down in activity level to the cool down in a way that's very smooth and natural.

My only complaint about this tape is that it is a tape. I'd love to have it on DVD!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Step Workout for Anyone
This is the first step aerobic workout I tried. I really like it. I started with no bench, then went to the 2" bench, now I am up to the maximum level 6". It isn't all that high impact, but it is still enough of a challenge to make me sweat. The stretching after is wonderful. Jane really takes the time to give you a wonderful whole body stretch that makes you feel relaxed. The stretching part is my favorite part. I love stretching! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Basic, easy and a real fat burner.
I am a veteran of many an exercise tape and many years of taking aerobics classes. Because I crave variety I have all sorts of exercise tapes in my collection but not many that feature just plain ole low impact aerobics so when I cam across this one and read the back of the video cover it seemed liked a good one to add to the collection. When initially reviewing the tape I was sort of disappointed. It looked so easy. The instructor was going through each of the moves that would be used in later combos as part of the warmup. They were all so easy and things I had learned years ago. But as I watched the tape I did note that her form was excellent and it was actually kind of nice to only have to focus on a single person who you know is doing the exercise the correct way. Sometimes the people in some of these exercise videos are not actually showing good form and it's annoying when the camera focuses on them during a critical changeover or difficult move. Another plus is that during one of the four routines in the corner there is the same instructor showing you the high impact version of the exact exercise.

I put the tape away at first and did not add it to my rotation. A few months later I was coming off an illness and wanted something to gradually get me back into the swing of things. I chose this tape and what a surprise. Yes the moves are all basic and very easy but they work. I always try to wear a heart rate monitor when I exercise to monitor the effectiveness of any exercise I am doing. This has been invaluable. Given that I was coming off an illness it didn't take long for me to get my heart rate up doing this tape and I also found that I couldn't finish the last combo. I was baffled and a little put out that what appeared to be such an easy tape had stumped me. A week later when I was feeling like my old self I did the tape again and while I could finish the tape easily this time I still was able to get my heart rate into the correct target zone. I believe this tape is effective because someone has taken the time to involve all the major mucsle groups in such a way that not only requires a great deal of energy expediture but that keeps the moves simple. You are also given enough options to make this work for anyone. Feel like more energy on certain moves then do the high impact version. It's that simple. Because I have so many tapes it takes me awhile to cylce back to any one particular one but this one definitely got added to the "A" list. While it's not anyhwere near the most exciting routine I have ever tried it does the job and that's what counts. Another bonus is if you are a beginner to exercise it gives some great workout tips and bust some of the more common exercise myths/

5-0 out of 5 stars Lost 37 pounds using this video
Easy to follow. Like doing it every day. Used so much that have to buy a new VHS as worn out. Never liked aerobics until I did this. Combined with diet really worked to tone and lose weight. Only thing it did not help is abs.

5-0 out of 5 stars How I learned to love aerobics
I am returning to fitness after 20 years, and I am very uncoordinated. Every time I have tried to exercise with aerobics videos I was frustrated, because I couldn't learn the moves. That is, until I found this video! "Fat Burning for Dummies" will teach you the classic moves that are still used in aerobics classes (in my opinion, they are not "old" nor "dated", like some reviewer said), while giving you a good cardiovascular workout.

This is an excellent workout for both beginner and intermediate exercisers. If you are not in good shape, you can skip one or two combos, and go straight to the cooldown, otherwise you can do the whole workout.

Gay Gasper is very nice, without being annoying. Some reviewer said she doesn't know her right from her left: well, this is called the "mirror image", and is commonly used in fitness videos.

If you are, like me, a beginner or lower intermediate, or returning to fitness after many years, this is the video for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE this workout
I really love this workout. Unfortunately, I've had to replace it a few times already because the VHS wears out so quickly on this one. Its not a quality VHS. The workout, though, is GREAT ! I keep replacing it because its really a wonderful workout. Gay Gasper teaches you the moves and cues well. Modifications are shown so advanced exercisers can kick it up a notch. Its great for beginners and experienced exercisers alike. ...

5-0 out of 5 stars Strong Choice for Getting Started and Growing
I bought this tape as a very beginning exerciser. I am now an intermediate and I still reach for it. It is absolutely one of my most used tapes. This tape is a good choice for many beginners because it offers a lot of room for growth. It starts out with a ~12 minute introduction to all of the basic aerobics moves. While, a lot of other reviewers have commented that there is no warmup I disagree the first move is the march and then variations on the march (Out-out in-in, 1-2-3 tap, etc) The march the ultimate classic aerobic warmup move, and Gay spends a good three minutes just on this move. From there she moves so that each move is progressively more difficult and more aerobic (v-step, lunge, mambo, etc).

From there it moves on to four different combos, that build one onto the other (i.e. learn combo one, do it straight through, then learn combo 2 and add it to combo one) until you reach combo five where you do the entire combination all the way through three times. As you get progressively healthier you can add a combo one by one gradually increasing the length of the workout. Also, there are some high impact options shown for many of the moves that once I got to be a beginner/intermediate I used to interval the workout.

Finally, she ends with a nice length cooldown and a stretch. While a lot of reviewers have also commented on no warmup up stretch, I've noticed that most more recent cardio videos have eliminated a stretch in the warmup and emphasized it in the cooldown. This seems to go along with what I've been reading in my fitness magazines about when a stretch is really the most effective.

If you need fairly basic choreography, or want to become familiar with standard moves used in an aerobics class this is a good place to start. However if you're a choreography junkie or always groan if you see a repeat of a combination this is not your video. ... Read more

The secret to breaking through weight-loss plateaus is challenging your body to work out at a higher intensity than it's used to, to "overload" in fitness parlance. Kathy Smith's Fat Burning Breakthrough presents two 18-minute step workout "waves" that progress through ever-harder intensities, building to a peak, then gradually tapering down. The two sessions can be done singly or combined into a 46-minute workout. Smith's all-female demonstrators show modifications for higher and lower intensity throughout, and one does the whole workout without a step for a much easier version.

The choreography is more complex and the overall intensity is higher than most of Smith's videos, making this video most appropriate for intermediate exercisers. A brief weight workout follows each cardio session, and at the end is an abdominal and back routine, and a stretch.

Smith, as always, is safe and motivating, with excellent technique. Her fans appreciate that her videos contain no screaming, no frenzy, no endless counting, no distracting camera work. Although Smith is motivating, the music here is merely innocuous, barely keeping the beat. The setting is a lovely outdoor park scene. --Joan Price ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I love this tape!
My youngest child is 2 months old, and I've been working hard at getting back in shape for about the last 6 weeks. I'd been doing TaeBo and one of Kathy's older videos (Fat Burning Workout), and was getting bored and wanting to try something a little more challenging. I got my wish with this tape! It is seperated into 2 waves of aerobics plus weights, and each wave is divided into 3 zones of intensity plus a recovery zone. The first few times I did this video, I had to take a break in zone 3(highest intensity) - those side lunges are wicked! But today was the fourth time I've done the video and I was able to do the entire routine. I like that it is seperated into two sections like her Timesaver videos, good for days when I'm crunched for time. Some of the moves are a bit tricky to pick up though; I got a bit frustrated with it, and finally advanced the video in slow motion to see how she was doing one step that involves straddling the step and turning your back to the TV. But once I got it down it was a lot of fun! The only other problem that I had with it is some of the camera angles; the camera is always slowly moving around the set and slowly zooming in and out which does keep it interesting, but there are one or two points where Kathy is starting to demonstrate a new step and her feet are not in the frame; also, it says on the box that a step is optional, but the one member of her crew who is not using a step is rarely in the frame so the slight modifications necessary could be a little tougher to do until you have the workout down. These things are not really a problem once you have done the tape a couple times, but that's the only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars. A great workout!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Fast Workout
I just purchased this workout tape having only purchased one other before (Kathy Smith's Power Step Workout) and I love it. I have been using one step video for about 4 months and this new one is a lot faster, but once you get the hang of it the faster pace is more enjoyable. The outdoor landscape is a fresh new look and the workout is both versatile and fun to do. You control how intense your workout is and can choose between the first wave, the second wave, or both. While I still use my old tape this new one has become my favorite. It just seems to be less mundane and with more movement than the last. I feel like I am getting a better workout.

3-0 out of 5 stars All over the place...
I used to be a huge fan of step. However my body rejected it after I had my son. This particur tape has a lower rating than I usually give Kathy Smith. She still has the same upbeat attitude that I love. I do think that this tape have difficult choreography. It is definitely for someone who is an advanced stepper. The scenery in this video is beautiful and the atmosphere is serene. Don't get caught up in the background, stay focused because Kathy has you all over the place.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good, challenging workout
This was a fairly challenging workout. She does move fairly quickly through the steps, but I didn't find it hard to follow. However, I do have Kathy Smith's Power Step workout, and many of the moves are taken from there. The Power Step workout moves more slowly, so if you learn that one first, this one is pretty easy to follow.

I didn't really like the weight lifting segments. They aren't long enough to actually build any muscle mass or tone, and they cause your heart rate to drop right in the middle of the workout. The aerobic part is great, though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't run before you can walk!
Like other reviewers, I have several of Kathy's exercise videos, and enjoy them all. I personally find them pretty easy to complete, enabling me to work on form and increasing the intensity if I feel up to it.

However, I boldly popped this tape in one day and found myself reduced to absolute beginner level! It certainly brought me down a peg or two, until I took the time to review the moves thoroughly before attempting the workout again.

The warm-up itself is fairly vigorous. It's quicker physically than Kathy's others. Then comes the first "wave". You start off fairly slowly and build through 3 zones. By the third you really feel it, but then you're treated to a recovery stage which feels wonderful. Weights follow, then the next wave, again with 3 levels of increasing intensity, and a recovery. The routine ends with a few more weights, abs, a cooldown and finally a stretch.

The choreography is certainly more complex than Kathy's other videos and is doesn't help when you're trying to learn moves which involve you turning away from your TV set. Still, perservere and you'll find you can do it! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars save your money
While the squats and lunges are good, the floor workout is horrible! Even if you're at an intermediate fitness level, she does endless repetitions (say 100) tiring the leg you're working to exhaustion that you're forced to stop and thus don't get the complete workout. Other workout videos switch legs between sets, but not this one. The cool down does not have a good stretch and why does Claudia stretch her shoulders in the warm up? Claudia looks awkward exercising, she's naturally thin. All the video editing is annoying.

5-0 out of 5 stars An exerciser with bad knees and back
I have tried several workout videos only to find that they are incredibly hard on my knees and back. Even low-impact aerobics tapes or my own modified versions of high-impact tapes are incredibly painful to do with my knees. This usually causes frustration and I give up on my workouts. With my wedding approaching this summer, I really want to tone up everything before I hit the beach on our honeymoon. I tried this tape out last night and finally found something that will really tone my legs without causing major pain in my knees. The only move I can't do is the lunges, I just repeat the squats while Claudia lunges. The floor work is excellent and you can immediately feel burning in all your leg muscles. The scenery behind Claudia is beautiful and relaxing to look at and the music is not annoying like most tapes. Once you know all the moves, the split screens and cutting back and forth aren't distracting, they just add interest. When I'm stuck at home in my living room, the last thing I want to look at is an instructor in a gym. I much prefer the water and sky for scenery. I know that this is a tape I'll be able to stick with and I look forward to her arms video that I just ordered.

5-0 out of 5 stars Effective Legs (and buns) workout
This video is excellent for the legs and buns, especially the outer thigh and hip area. These exercises help you build lean muscle in areas that are hard to slim. After using this video twice a week for 2 months, I tried a leg press machine for the first time and was able to leg press 100 lbs - 80% of my weight. My only complaint is that it doesn't do enough for the inner thigh area.

5 stars for beach-worthy legs.

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST leg work-out I have ever done!
I thought this was a Great leg work-out. I use to work in a gym and we use to tell our members to work each leg until it hurt (No pain No gain)as they say. Well it works each leg very hard and you feel the burn and feel great when your done. For anyone who thinks it's too hard to do you need to just stick with it and you will build up the strength in your legs and it will get easier. Stick with it. But order them all from Amazon you get them much faster then anyone else. I ordered Legs and Arms on a Wednesday and recieved them on the following Monday. I am still waiting on my Abs that I ordered from a different source. Amazon is the BEST and Quickest. Thanks

2-0 out of 5 stars Terrible form
The exercises in this video would be effective if done properly. Although Kathy Kaehler (Schiffer's trainer) demonstrates the proper form, Schiffer doesn't follow through when she's exercising. She seems very awkward and not into the moves at all. This workout may be good for a beginner, but for anyone at an intermediate or advanced level, it wouldn't be worth the purchase. ... Read more

"Belly dancing provides us with a way to stay healthy and fit, and a way to stay relaxed and open," say professional belly dancers Veena and Neena Bidasha. They start by teaching the isolations that they'll incorporate into dance movements later: moving the head from side to side on an imaginary line as if separated from the neck, "snake arms" that seem to float in the air, "shoulder punches" (as if your shoulders have fists) that turn into shimmies when speeded up, "rib slides" (using your torso muscles to push your ribs from side to side), and a variety of hip moves. Then you put it all together and voilà--you're belly dancing! After too short a dance, you get down on the floor for stretching.

Of the four tapes in this series, this one will make you feel the most like a belly dancer. It's not really an exercise routine as much as a 30-minute class of basic belly-dancing moves, though your abs and hips will certainly get a workout from all that rib-pushing and hip-rolling action. --Joan Price ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Good Workout for a Beginner
I disagree with the people who say this workout doesn't teach you to dance -- a lot of what I've learned from just this video I've used while dancing. The two times I've gone dancing, in fact, people have turned and cheered me on when they saw I was shaking my hips like there was no tomorrow.

But it probably is a poor video if you're looking to create dances out of what you learn here. It's an EXCELLENT video, though, if you want something unusual and fun to add to your workout routine, which is why it's called the Bellydance Fitness WORKOUT.

If you don't have a lot of money, go with this video first. If you're out of shape (like me), it WILL get your heartrate up and stretch your limbs. Then when you get to a point where you're able, go for one of the other three.

I recommend it for a workout. There are moves in here that make a woman feel sensuous and sexy, even if she doesn't have Neena or Veena's body :)

3-0 out of 5 stars A fun change from Tae Bo
I use this video as a change-up from Tae Bo and aerobic boxing, as a a way to stretch out and be more feminine and "fluid" for a change. I've also used it when for various reasons I needed a less intense workout. It won't do much for you fitness-wise, some moderate toning at most. You also won't find yourself with a repertoire of dance moves, though it does begin to build some of the muscles you'd need to do bellydancing. It begins with stretching, then head and neck, arm, waist/ribcage, and finally the most intense part of the workout, hip and thigh exercises. The music is great and the sisters are fun, not too flamboyant. They could have spared us the silly voice-over! But this would be a good addition to your workout library or a pre-introduction into bellydance.

5-0 out of 5 stars my favorite bellydance tape
this is a wonderful tape. neena and veena are lovely and sassy, their dancing is great and they make the moves very accessible. i have done dolphina's goddess workout a number of times, and now that i've done this one i like it 10x more. neena and veena actually show you how to coordinate the movements and you can actually learn to dance, whereas doing dolphina's tape, she looks and dances great and i'm flailing around like a nut. (although dolphina does say, "ok and this time, do it with attitude! like, 'aren't i fabulous? but you can't have me!'" which quote, in itself, is worth the price of the video.) neena and veena are very accessible, they show you how to feel the flow of it.

after doing this tape once, three times i have found myself spontaneously doing the moves just for fun. that has never happened to me with the goddess workout. this workout just connects. i also like the way the video was shot -- it's a very nice voice over, so you can hear the instructions very clearly and neena and veena aren't shouting. also the camera stays on the right parts them and gives you different angles to see the moves from. i haven't tried their other tape that i ordered yet, but i love this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bellydance Fitness for Begginners: Basic Moves
This movie was perfect for the absolute begginner. It wasn't too fast, it was slow and easy enough to understand with out being too slow. A great way to learn the very basics of bellydancing. I would recommend this to anyone interseted in learning the art of belly dance.

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN, FUN, FUN!!!
I LOVE this video!! It is great if you are interested in Bellydancing as a workout. I am new to the dance and find this video to be a great video for starting out. It teaches you some basic moves, preparing you for the next level. It shows you how to isolate your muscles and get you into better shape for learning the dance. This video is a WORKOUT video. (FIRST in the series)... But I believe THIS video and series will be EXCELLENT in PREPARING and CONDITIONING a person for the dance. ...Long live the oldest dance. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Cardio Fun!
This workout is a lot of fun and aerobic enough to get me into my training heart zone (moderate level; this isn't Tae Bo!!)I've only had it a month, and I can't stop working out to it! It's made my weekly rotation--and I'm picky.

I do exercise videos 5-6 days a week and have lost 40 lbs doing them (with a reasonable diet). So, I take my video selections seriously. I've purchased more than 100 videos, but many of them are rejects because the workout isn't aerobic enough, it's boring, the instructor is uninspiring, etc. This Cardio Salsa Video, on the other hand, has so much going for it:
1) The instructor is lively, and breaks down the moves so they are easy to learn.

2) The workout is presented in six segments--so the time flies. Before you know it, you're off doing the next segment, Salsa, Samba,Merengue (my favorite)and more. This short segment approach keeps the workout very fresh for those like me who want to do a video regularly and not just once or twice.

3)The workout incorporates large arm movements and some jumps, so even someone who is fit (like me) can get their heart rate into the moderate intensity zone. Put some energy behind the moves, and you will get a good workout! OK, it's not the strenous workout of Tae Bo, but it's not too easy like a lot of Latin tapes out there that are only good for "light days" or are in my reject pile.

4) The live drummer Ravi and his drumming add something special to the video. He's on several other Crunch videos, and I've liked all the ones he's on.

Are you a beginner or someone who does not like dancy videos? Stick with it; you'll learn these short routines in 2 or 3 times through the video and you WILL be converted to an Aerobic Latin style enthusiast thanks to Giselle and her good choreography.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great workout!
This is a lot of fun. It's great if you like something a little different from the ordinary. I get bored easily, so each week I switch around between hatha/kundalini yoga, TaeBo Cardio, Tae Bo Master Blaster (with weights) and dancing/jump rope/Nordictrack (I did say I get bored, yes?). And my work requires that I be able to lift/carry 40 lbs. I don't have the time to go to a fitness center and don't care to get all jazzed up to do so. I prefer to do my own thing at home and this program is perfect for that. I've done okay by watching my diet and using this and the other videos/DVDs.

The instructor is energenic and vibrant, and although I'm a total klutz when it comes to learning dance moves, she goes about it at a nice enough pace that after a few sessions I even got the hang of it. The warmup works smoothly into the following routines. The beat of the music fits well with the moves, and you just have to have fun doing it! The 40 minutes goes by so fast it's amazing.

If you're looking for a very fast paced, aerobic, "take your breath away" exercise routine, this is *not* it. But if you're looking for something to work that heart, limber up and shed some calories along the way, try it!

1-0 out of 5 stars I just returned this video
I buy a lot of exercise videos and consider myself pretty coordinated, but this video was rediculous. It's dance based and Giselle combines some moves that don't really flow together. I also had a hard time understanding Giselle as she does have a little accent. I didn't feel she described the moves very well. Perhaps if you have a strong dance background this video would be appropriate, otherwise pick up Fat Burning Pilates.

4-0 out of 5 stars Latin Fun
I love this workout DVD. Giselle is perky, but not overly so, and takes you through the steps at a good pace. It's slow enough to catch on during the routine, but not so slow that repeat workouts get monotonous. I was so engaged learning the steps and keeping up that I didn't realize how sweaty I was getting the first time! A great workout for people that like to be entertained/occupied instead of "feeling the burn."
The dance steps really work the calves, hips, and saddlebag area. Yay for Latin dancing!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not if you want to sweat
I enjoyed the video and the smooth moves. However it does not qualify as a workout- too easy and you barely break a sweat. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great tapes
I got this set as a gift and started as part of my New Year's resolution. I have lots of other exercise tapes BUT I use this set. It is hard to get started on a lot of exercise tapes but this set is different. The moves aren't so hard that you never feel like doing the tape again. I have started other tapes and got a few minutes into the tape only to say this is too hard. This is good for people of varying levels of fitness. If you aren't in good shape, you start with the 1 mile and do what you can and build up your endurance. If you are in pretty good shape then you use the 2 & 3 mile tapes most of the time. I have recommended these tapes to friends and would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to lose weight and improve their body. I have lost 12 pounds in 7 weeks by using these tapes and trying to improve my eating habits. The exercise belt really gives a good upper body & ab workout.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great low-imact workout!
I have many workout videos on my shelf, but until I discovered Leslie Sansone's Walk Away tapes, they mostly just collected dust. The wonderful thing about Leslie's in-home walking workout is that it is easy (no difficult choreography or quick movement changes to confuse you), fast (you can choose the 15-min:1 mile, 30-min:2 mile, or 45-min:3 mile depending on how much time you have), and effective! Using both Weight Watchers and daily 2 or 3 mile walks, I have managed to lose 15 lbs. in 5 weeks!

While this might not be the best choice for someone looking for a super high-energy workout, it is perfect for those who prefer a no frills way to exercise out some stress and calories. Also nice is the fact that her exercise crew represents all body types - while there a few "perfect" figures, there are also those who may look more like you or me.

I like the walk-away belt; it provides just enough tension to work the muscles of your arms and back without burning you out. I've never had a problem with the belt, though I'm skeptical of Leslie's assertion that it will help tone your abs just by wearing it during the workout...I've yet to see it.

All in all, I will never buy another workout video again, and am getting rid of all the others I own. If a busy stay-at-home mom can finally make the time to exercise daily - and ENJOY it - what other endorsement does it need?!

4-0 out of 5 stars lost 18 pounds
I really like these videos...by cutting out pop and drinking lots of water and cutting back on my overall eating I lost 18 pounds in 2 months. I do the videos 4-6 times a week (usually the 2 mile tape)..if I do not have much time tho I do the 1 mile tape..it is great tho..just be sensible and cut back and excerise and you WILL see results. also I have NEVER had problems w the belt..tho her voice DOES start to bother me when you have her memorized LOL..so I play the radio over her...HTH...good luck!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Video shows band that broke! Did you catch it?
As a stay at home parent who has limited time for exercise, these tapes are simply awesome! I just had another baby and wanted to get back into shape slowly. These tapes are perfect. Very easy to follow along and you do feel it working immediately. Finally an exercise series I look forward to doing. Now, about the bands. I'm surprised no one else mentioned this yet. Mine are still in tact but the past reviews here mention the bands breaking. I chuckled since I noticed just the other day that one of the exercisers in the video broke her band! Its on the 2 mile tape, look for the blonde woman in the back row on the right. You see her exercising and then all of a sudden you see her look surprised and then glance down at her hand. She's only holding one unattached handle :) She shrugs as if she doesn't know what to do. Then when they pan back over she is not wearing the belt and shortly later you see her with a whole new belt in tact. Guess they couldn't edit that out but it was amusing to confirm that yes, these bands do break. I use my hand weights which also give a wonderful workout. I highly recommend this video set to anyone who wants to get or stay in shape.

3-0 out of 5 stars What's with the belt???
I have almost all of Leslie Sansone's tapes. This by far is the poorest one; only because of the belt. I choose to do these workouts without it. The belt hinders my movements. The videos are wonderful and the exercises can be completed without the belt. All of her tapes do a wonderful job of targeting total body fitness. Save your money and put it towards her new series "Walk away the pounds express." ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful introduction to Shirley MacLaine's way of living
Shirley MacLaine takes you step by step through her meditative, spiritual and physical belief system. She speaks knowledgeably on the subject, and she allows you time to process the information if you are a newcomer. She does not talk down to you, and neither does she make it so incomprehensible that it's useless. It's a pragmatic approach to relieving the stress of daily living. I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a colorful, relaxing, and refreshing video! A Must do!
Having the visual colors & patterns is so meaningful for me. Watching it in the evenings after stretching exercises, has helped me to sleep better. It is excellent for relieving stresses of the day or week. I was checking it out of my local library so often that my husband wanted me to buy it!

5-0 out of 5 stars outstanding & informative
A refresshing workout for the body, mind and spirit. I first viewed this video in a class for Reiki Training. I since have used this same video in teaching my students about the Chakra system and to give them a gentle and wonderful first experience in guided meditation. I am so pleased to know that this video is available on line as the copy I have used is in need of replacement. I will be sure to pass this information along to past students as well as all future students as a must for their vedio libraries. Peace, Light and Love to all who view this and especially to Shirley MacLaine for listening to her inner guides and making such a huge difference in so many lives.....Bless you all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Relaxing and enjoyable
I purchased this tape for my mother as a gift. She watches it a few times a week and deeply enjoys the relaxation it provides her with. I have watched it and feel it is profound for those who can accept what it offers. The quality is good. This was a good investment.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
The first time I viewed this video, I was suffering from several slipped disks and sciatica. Visits to the chiropractor were not helping. I watched the video mainly to see whether it would help me overcome the depression that accompanied my pain, and to my surprise, it gave me more relief than doctors or drugs! Since then, I've used it for back problems, stiff necks, acid stomach, insomnia, headaches, depression, life-direction indecision and low energy. It has helped every problem, every time I've used it, even when nothing else has worked! Do yourself a favor and try it! ... Read more

This 1991 Fonda workout works the lower body in two ways:35 minutes of low-impact aerobic dance with some step, then 25 minutesof targeted conditioning for the abs, buttocks, and thighs. The whole workout iswell choreographed, well instructed, and accessible to beginners. Fonda startsby giving basic directions for exercisers new to stepping. Then she bows out anda variety of energetic, capable instructors alternate teaching segments of theaerobic workout. They use the warm-up to pre-teach many of the moves you'll uselater, so although the aerobic section has a lot of dance choreography, it's notall unfamiliar, and each move is repeated often enough to get it easily. If youprefer not to use the step at all, several participants show you how to do thewhole aerobic workout without the step. For more intensity and a harder workout, you'll want to follow the instructors using the step. Fonda returns to teachPart 2 herself, starting with traditional lower-body floor work, mainlymany variations of leg lifts and abdominal crunches, followed by a stretch. - -Joan Price ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE this video!!! You Go Jane!!!
I was lucky enough to borrow this video from my local library. I absolutely LOVE the aerobics portion of the tape--even the music was enjoyable. Very upbeat with great instructors and simple moves to match! This was wonderful for me, because I am not a dancer or very well coordinated. I thought I'd miss not seeing Jane in the first section, but I didn't. The floor work was wonderfully executed as well; although extremely challenging for anyone on a beginner's level. I am very pleased, and would highly recommend this tape to anyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Get's you goin in the mornin!
I don't care what Jane is doin' now, her group of instructors that lead her aerobics portion of this workout video are top notch. I know every clap and step to this video and I never get tired of it. There's low impact and high impact and you can add in your step if you get more advanced. There is the lower body toning portion at the end if you are up to it and I always have fun with this tape.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Lower Body Toning!!
I've had this video for about 3 years and LOVE it. The aerobics weren't challenging enough but the lower body toning is very difficult at first but I now do it with light ankle weights. Even without the aerobics portion of the video, it's completely worth it. The 20 minute lower body workout does a great job of toning the inner thighs, abs, and butt!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Unbalanced, but still fun
The aerobics section is fun, but for anyone who is fit, it is just too darned easy. I barely broke a sweat until I reached the "challenge step". That said, it is well choreographed, fun, and great for a light day.

BUT the second section of floor work that Jane Fonda leads is incredibly difficult! In fact, at first I found it almost frustratingly difficult and could barely get through half the reps Jane Fonda did. After 10 plus years of working out with aerobics, it's still hands down the best floor work section I've found on any video. (I DARE you to try it with ankle weights!) :)

All in all, this video is a bit unbalanced. However, I've had it for nearly 10 years and still use it, so it was certainly worth the investment! Use the aerobics part when you start out till intermediate, and slowly add in the floor work.

5-0 out of 5 stars Only exercise video that has stayed with me!
This is the only exercise video that has followed my moves through college and now into my own home. I don't participate in the aerobics part of the tape, I go on a fast paced walk - get home and start the workout with Jane. I have stayed in shape and enjoy the last stretching exercises. ... There are plenty of ways to work the abs using a stability ball, and instructor Suzanne Deason uses them all. Deason is a yoga and Pilates instructor who incorporates both disciplines in this rigorous, slow-paced workout for the abdominals and back. Deason instructs soothingly and interrupts the workout several times for needed stretches and rest breaks, but your abs will still scream by the end of this 45-minute video.

You'll need a BalanceBall or other stability ball (large, inflatable, exercise ball). If you've never used one before, don't worry--Deason spends time showing you how to sit on it using your balance muscles so you don't roll off. Then she uses the ball in many different positions: sitting on it, lying on it belly up, lying on it belly down, holding it, rolling it, lifting it, bouncing it, even kneeling on it. The moves start out simple and get progressively harder. The result is an intense abdominal workout. --Joan Price ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Abs Workout
I love this video. The first time I did it, it didn't feel like I was working anything, but I did the whole 30 minutes nonetheless. Later that evening, I couldn't believe how much I had worked my abs. They actually hurt when I laughed! And I couldn't work them for a few days. Since then, I can do the tape every other day or so and I can see a lot more definition. I feel great and refreshed on the days that I do the tape.

Also, it is a very relaxing setting and Suzanne is very calming which is good if you're not looking for a high energy workout. Very yoga-like.

4-0 out of 5 stars Requires some advanced yoga
This video does work just that its a yoga based video. Because of this you will not get results unless you use proper breathing. Also some of the yoga moves, especially towards the end, are particularly advanced. I have not mastered them yet but I think with continued use of this video I will. I like all the videos in the series because aside from just getting a good workout, they help me relax and I feel generally soothed after each one. This video is difficult so do not try it unless you have patience because you probably will not be able to do all of it the first time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Feel refreshed after doing this
I thoroughly enjoy working through this tape. I've only been doing it for about 2 weeks, and I can already feel my progress. After working out, I feel tall and my abs feel tight (a small feat after 3 kids). The yoga mood is relaxing too. I look forward to doing this one day, then a Zone tape the next.

5-0 out of 5 stars Suzanne Deason rules!
I first bought the balance ball kit with the sample video. I did that for a while so I could get used to using the balance ball. I then bought all three of the tapes that go with the balance ball. This ab workout is really great. It really works all of the ab muscles without being too hard on the body. I like this workout as a nice change of pace from aerobics, etc.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great after a long day at work
This is a great abs workout and very relaxing. The method involves lots of stretching and focusing on breathing. Lots of different exercises are introduced. Some are easy and some are more difficult. My mom says that there's no way she'll ever be able to do the move where you lie on your back with the ball between your feet and then put your feet and the ball over your head, but she can do all the other moves. Because there aren't many repetitions of each move, it doesn't seem like the workout is that hard, but I can definitely feel it later. This is not one of those ab workouts that will make you sweat or cry in pain, but it is still very effective though a little slow and long at times. An added bonus is all the stretching and relaxing over the ball which makes this a great workout for after work. ... Read more

In this excellent, intermediate Pilates workout, you add muscular power and endurance to the core stability you've developed. Skillful instructor Moira Stott-Merrithew starts with a review of basic principles, demonstrated in the warm-up, before taking us through a nonstop workout. Many of the moves are the essential exercises taught in Essential Matwork but performed without rests in between (45 exercises in 49 minutes), building flow as well as adding endurance and intensity. Stott-Merrithew slows down when she introduces difficult new exercises, such as the rollover, which involves lying on the back, legs lifted off the floor (held up by the abdominals), then slowly bringing the legs up and over the head with control, touching the feet to the floor behind the head, opening the legs from that position, then flexing the feet and slowly bringing them back to the starting position, closing the legs, and doing it all over again. Whew. As always, Stott-Merrithew, calm and competent, instructs throughout, so we're learning as much technique as we can handle. Her form is impeccable and inspiring. --Joan Price ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect BEGINNER video for intermediate/advanced folks
Since I'm pretty fit and used to learning new physical activities, this was a perfect Pilates beginner video for me. Moira Stott is an excellent instructor who teaches a proper exercising and breathing techniques. What I was looking for and have found in this video: detailed instructions, moderate speed (but not too slow, so it's challenging), no-fuss style (that is no cheerleading and annoying non-related talks/jokes you have to listen to every time you use the tape). I've learned the basics with this video in about 2 months and moving on to the Stott Advanced Matwork on VHS and the Classical Pilates Technique on DVD. However, I'm still going to use this great routine as my alternating workout on the days when I'm too tired/sore to do the advanced one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very nice Pilates video-worth the purchase
This video is very thorough and safe. She does a warm-up prior to "the hundred" warm up. The pace is very steady but not too fast, performing up to 49 different pilates exercises toning the entire body. I would recommend this video for the intermediate level unless you are athletic and have been exposed to a little pilates before via a book or video and are familiar with the moves.

This video is well worth the money to me because it teaches appropriate breathing and the correct form, which are essential to proper results and to prevent injury. It is challenging and fun, and has produced great results in my overall balance, strenth, tone and provides me with a feeling of well-being once I am done with the workout. You don't need a mat if you have carpet. I also combine this with other workouts such as cardio and light weights, and she encourages you to alternate the tape with something for your heart such as walking, although this is a good cardio workout, for your heart's health you need something to push you a bit harder a couple times a week.

A great combination and wonderful variety to any workout regimen. I love not having to dress up with shoes, just plop on the floor and get started, and it's easy to do if I have a injury or am just too tired to do something else. It has been beneficial for me, having a lot of physical pain and muscle problems, although I will say it was very challenging at first but in a good way. As your core muscles improve with time, it becomes easier and you can feel it working better in my opinion. It's fun to improve at things, and if you want to have a tape that you can grow with, see results, and feel good about what you are doing for yourself, this is a good one.

5-0 out of 5 stars No hype - pure pilates!
Calming, serious, good to work along with.

Great supplement to studio sessions. I work the reformer at the studio weekly, and this video (and others from Stott) at home twice a week.

Great for improving posture.

3-0 out of 5 stars A bit too fast
I have taken 2 pilates classes and consider myself advanced beginner to intermediate. Although I like Stott's style and smoothness, she is just too fast for me. Her moves are not that difficult, but she whips through them very quickly. Maybe it would just take time for me to memorize the sequence, but I am going to keep looking for other tapes.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good instruction, but not inspiring
I got this video after taking 2 beginning Pilates classes, and using Anna Caban's beginning and intermediate Pilates video. I was hoping through using different instructors, I'd learn different nuances of the moves and become more proficient in Pilates.

Stott's instruction and execution of the exercises is excellent; no cheating or sloppiness. However, it was less challenging for me overall than Caban's intermediate video, despite being about 10 minutes longer. What really turned me off this video and kept if from inspiring me, is that it appeared, between moves during instructional "chats," Stott sat hunched over. Admittedly, this is a pet peeve, but ever since Pilates has helped me improve my posture and lessened my aching back, I have become much more aware of hunching. Seeing my instructor hunching was outright depressing, so I gave the video away after a few viewings.

Caban's video was good, and Hillary Burnett's best of the Pilates videos I've seen. But Stott's Pilates is otherwise well instructed and executed. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Workout!
I have been cardio-kickboxing for years, so when I recently decided to buy some DVDs and weights for working out at home, I was eager to try out the much-hyped Tae Bo workout. I thought the Basics workouts would be too easy, and I do add a little more bounce to my workout than is in the tapes (when I have the energy, that is). I was wrong. With a solid effort, these "basic" workouts can kick your [behind! It is also good to have workouts divided into 25 minute (and one 8 minute) segments, if you don't have time for an hour's worth of exercise or if you want to reverse order for variety. Blanks has good form and uses all the basic stretches, punches, and kicks that my instructors over the years have used. He explains each move for those who are unfamiliar, and he starts slowly with each new move. (If this is too slow for me, I simply double-time it.) I also like Blanks' supportive, "let's have fun doing this" attitude and friendly encouragement. I am looking forward to getting the advanced DVDs for more combinations and greater variety of moves.

4-0 out of 5 stars Video one is five stars, video two is three stars
Video one begins on the floor with an intense ab routine followed by glutes. After doing the original basic series for 3 months, five times a week, I decided to try something else. I have done this video for three weeks now and it's still very difficult to get through the glutes section. However, I don't feel right if I don't do this ab routine. Other ab routines from other videos just don't give me the same benefits.

Video two focuses more on the legs. One irritating thing is that he keeps saying in what I perceive as the hardest part of the workout that this is just the basic video. It's not very encouraging. I do like how Billy reminds you to focus and you'll get through it.

I have damaged cartilage in my right knee from years of dancing, so I look for videos that are entertaining, mentally stimulating, but provide as little impact as possible. Video two strains my knee, so I have only done it five times and prefer video one, given visible improvements in my abdominals and posture after just three weeks.

2-0 out of 5 stars Boot Camp
This isn't a work out, it's boot camp. If you aren't in really good shape, or like to be able to move the next day, DO NOT DO THIS. Try Windsor Pilates instead, work your way up to this. Other wise you'll be in serious pain the next day! His counting is terrible and does too many reps on one side and not enough on the other....

3-0 out of 5 stars Good basic kickboxing workouts
This 2-tape set consists of two basic Tae Bo routines. Basic Workout 1 includes floor work in addition to a standing kickboxing routine. This video begins with instructor Billy Blank's standard 5-minute stretch routine. Following the warmup comes the toning segment: 4 minutes of abs work and then 4 minutes of targeted glutes work performed on hands and knees. Then Billy leads one of his basic kickboxing routines consisting mainly of punches with some knee lifts and kicks thrown in; Billy also emphasizes the abs while in a standing position. The kickboxing segment lasts about 10 minutes, and a final 3 minutes of cool-down stretches complete this 26-minute workout. Basic Workout 2 is entirely a standing kickboxing routine. There is a similar warmup (about 4 minutes) followed by an approximately 18-minute cardio workout. Billy does a few more combinations here, and again, he always reminds you to work your abdominals from a standing position. This workout ends with a Tai Chi type cool-down segment.

As an instructor, Billy Blanks is very likeable and extremely enthusiastic. However, his counting is not always accurate, and he frequently completes an uneven number of sets from one side of the body to the other. These tapes would be good for those who like simple kickboxing routines focused mainly on punches and which include some toning in addition to cardio.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fuerte!!!
EXITO!!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I'm a young senior citizen, female and I love this workout!
This may be too slow for the fast paced younger ones but I have lost weight, feel better, and have more energy. You can follow Susan easily as she guides you thru each step. I also like it because it is more than 30 minutes long. I need 45 or more minutes a day of exercise. I have had this tape for 3 months now and would like another similar to this one with some different routines. I love the way Susan takes time to show you how to do the steps. Some videos are just too fast and you can't keep up if you are an older person. I don't want something with a snail pace either. I like this kind of pace or just a little bite faster. I don't like jumping around and this one does not do that. I have a little hip problem and using these steps does not bother it at all. Thanks for making this tape with modifications. The only thing I found that could improve this tape was that the camera didn't show the changes sometimes when a new step was being done. They focused on Susan's arms rather than her feet. Needed full view. This is a very good tape and I recommend it to a beginner or intermediate. You will work up a sweat. I have viewed and tried several other tapes and I come back to this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars SUSAN POWTER SPEAKS AND TEACHES FROM EXPERIENCE
I began using Lean,Strong& Healthy 4 months ago. I began exercising in August 1999 - first with one mile a day walks which led to 4 miles per day. After a few months I felt I needed more and I got it with this video. Susan has been where I am and she is inspiring to say the least. The routine is not difficult to learn, you get a marvelous workout, and she is there encouraging you all the way- showing you how to build a stronger fitness level. If you are serious about getting Lean,Strong& Healthy then buy this video- it will change your life. Another great thing is the different people in the video- they are all different sizes at different fitness levels. They are not all size 3 - they are real people who are working REAL hard at getting healthy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lost 32 pounds and no more back aches!
This video is fantastic! I can't lose weight like I used to. The treadmill and stationary bike did nothing for my weight. This video did! Not only that, occasionally I get low back pain; it's not serious but it hurts. All I need is 20-25 minutes of Susan Powter, working very easily and without the step, and the pain is GONE!

Ms. Powter's upbeat, energetic manner keeps you going even when you yourself can't.

Another great thing about this workout: it's all about common sense. If you want to burn fat, she says, your body needs energy. Eat protein, eat carbs. Just be smart about it. And she tells you how.

That common sense is applied to the workout as well. "Just keep moving," is her motto. Can't kick your legs like a Rockette? Are you very out-of-shape? Fine! Kick low, or not at all. She gives alternative moves to those who can't or aren't ready to do the workout full-out. Use the step, don't use the step. "Just keep moving!"

AND I LOST 32 POUNDS!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best for Serious Exercisers.
Susan is the best. Period. This video is for all levels, ages and sizes. If you are truly serious about exercising for a lifetime, buy this video. You will actually use it. A great investment in your health.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the one!
Think what you may of the mouthy maven, she's like having a friend in the fitness business. This video is my favorite (and I own a bunch of them!)so I use it 6 days a week. I'm 52, have a Monday through Friday sedentary job and a little arthritis. I take advantage of her "modifications". Forty-five minutes is an optimum time for working out, and with this video I can feel that I've worked everything. However, I still augment with crunches and free weights. I'm not interested in being skinny, I just want to be fit, build some muscle, improve bone density and live to retirement, plus, be healthy enough to enjoy it. This video may help me get there. ... This 1993 video is a one-hour workout combining stop-and-start cardiomovements that are athletic (no dance) with muscle endurance moves with andwithout light weights. The cardio section uses moves like jogging, jumping, legswings, and power moves such as fast lunge combinations, squats with jumps, andkarate kicks. The lower body strengthening moves include variations of lungesand squats using body weight. The upper-body weight exercises are varied butdone too quickly--it's easy to rely on momentum. Some of these exercises areoddly chosen: a number of the exercises that are supposed to work the chestfatigue the shoulders and back long before the chest muscles feel anything, forexample. You'll certainly feel the many sets of ab exercises, however!

After the fitness experts panned Cindy Crawford's 1992 Shape Your Bodybecause of its risky moves, this one was planned under the supervision of C.Thomas Vangsness Jr., M.D., Chief of Sports Medicine at the University ofSouthern California. Crawford doesn't fling her body as she did in the first one(why didn't her trainer teach her not to do this in the first place?), and sheexplains how to do the exercises properly. A glossary of exercises at the endemphasizes correct form. This is certainly better than Shape Your Body, but unless you're wild about Cindy Crawford, you can find workouts conducted byreal fitness instructors that are better designed and demonstrated. --JoanPrice ... 5-0 out of 5 stars great workout tape!!!
I really haven't been able to find a workout tape like this one! I mean because it has a little for every part of the body.

This tape is about 64 minutes long, which after working out so long you get relieved it is over, because it really is the "next challenge"!!

The tape consists of:
a warm up, about 2 mins of jumping (like rope jumping type jumps), 20mins of legs (lunges or all sorts, and some kicks) which has a lil water break every 4mins or so, then its abs 1, which has some crunches, then has some chest exercises, (which I've not been able to find any like these anywhere else), then its abs 2, then moves on to arms/shoulders/upper back for 10mins (and those hurt!), then moves on to abs 3, and continues to lower back, and cool down, et voila, you are done!!

Cindy is accompanied by a personal trainer, Rudu (i believe is his name) and hes always in the background always guiding Cindy and reminding her of proper form at all times and helping her count the sets.

I like this video because it has some aerobics, weight training, abs. It is a well-rounded tape, even though after a while the second half of the tape (from abs1 to lower back) it gets to be not so challenging, but you can always change the sets to suit your fitness level.

The background seems to be an empty loft, and the desert. The music is very soothing, (it has a Blondie song).
I'd recommend this tape, it is nicely done.

4-0 out of 5 stars Athletic moves, not jumpy fluff
Getting this video used for a buck was the best deal I have found all year. Cindy begins with a good warm up and stretch section. The aerobic series follows. I am not a fan of elaborate aerobics, so I was happy with the basics that are really worked: lunges, squats, kicks and jumps. Three ab segments are spread out across the workout: you will feel the burn. I think there is a total of about 160-200 reps. The stregnth training is very thorough: lots of chest excercises are something kind of different, rows and curls are plentiful. All of this takes place with beautiul backgrounds and ethereal music. Cindy is sweet and inspirational, but as another reviewer pointed out, not even supermodels have perfect bodies. Working out is fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars If you need a great workout, this is it!
I am so relieved that this workout is finally on DVD. I have been saving my old VCR to play this workout video and hoping that eventually it would be released on DVD. My prayers have been answered. I can now get rid of my noisy VCR and put my "Next Challenge" video to rest. This workout gives me the best toned abs, thighs, arms and shoulders. You do not have to learn any dance steps or difficult routines. I try to do the workout at least 4 times a week. I just turned 47 and thanks to this workout I have a hard body. I have been doing the workout since 1995. My sister told me about the video. When I went to visit I tried it. I was hooked. You do ache on your first few times doing the workout. It is worth it when you see the results.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best workout I have ever done
I am a dancer, so I wanted to have something else on the side to exercise all the muscles that dancing doesn't always reach. Plus, I wanted to get stronger. So I tried a Richard Simmons video. It was okay the first time but it was not challenging and I found it extremely annoying as well. So I saw this one in the store and thought I'd give it a try. WOW!! I have finally found a workout that was perfect for me! (I quickly tossed the Richard Simmons video.) I have only been doing it for a couple of weeks, and I'm feeling much more energetic and I'm losing some weight as well. After I did it for the first time, I was very, very achy, but not sore. The achiness was just a sign that it was working. So after sticking with it and doing it everyday, the achiness has left and I'm doing it a lot more easily now. It's not Hard, per se, it's just challenging. And if you stick with it you'll be glad you did!! It's amazing!

5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite! My boyfriend is even doing it!
This is a strong workout. Don't be put off by the fact that it is a model doing the routine. My boyfriend watched some of what I was doing and decided he would try it too. It worked him good and he claims he will do it every week now. It's thorough, too the point and doesn't waste your time. You get a good hour of strength and cardio all around. This is not whimpy fluff that has you moving around, but not really concentrating on strengthing your muscle groups (if that's what you want, don't get this). And to top all that off, Cindy is a pleasant person to be around, with a soothing and real demeanor. Plus the setting, editing and music is qualilty. ... Read more
