5-0 out of 5 stars Project A-ko x3
I liked the Vs. movies better than the first four. They had better and more interesting plots, and C-ko is finally 10 like she looks. I would definitely say that this isn't for all tastes, but for us hardcore Project A-ko fans, Vs. Battle 1 and 2 are must-haves.

5-0 out of 5 stars TRANSCENDS MERE UNIVERSE'S TO CREAT AN AWESONE ANIME!
This is the movie that got me hooked on anime 7 years ago. An adventure for most ages, space battles, enormously strong beautiful women, dragon gods, space pirates, multi-dimensional theories, 6-inch high space patrol officers, the whole shabang! I consider myself an above average judge of anime and i can says this is one of my all time favorites. Buy it today!

5-0 out of 5 stars A incredible, fantastic ,action packed comic adventure!
The project A-ko battle movies are what got me hooked on anime. I saw them for the first time on the sci-fi channel when i was 13. Besides the beautiful, strong A-ko, the sexy mechanical genius B-ko, and the cute C-ko the storyline to this movie is awesome.

C-ko's birthday celebration is interrupted when she is kidnapped by two pirates from her father's spaceship during the festivities. Enroute to a rendezvous with her kidnappers' boss, their ship breaks apart in mid-air and C-ko plummets to the planet below. Fortuneately she lands right on top of a huge pack of equipment carried by A-ko, one of the planet's monster-hunters.

A-ko arrives at the home she shares with her partner B-ko and, famished, quickly changes for dinner. But before she gets to the table C-ko has devoured everything in sight. A-ko is incensed but is somewhat appeased when B-ko points out the reward they could collect for returning C-ko. When C-ko is re-kidnapped, A-ko and B-ko take off in pursuit. Their rescue attempt is foiled by the pirate's boss, Gail, who strikes B-ko down with a single blow.

Left to mourn her colleague, A-ko doesn't know what to do. Is all hope lost or will Maruten, a six-inch high member of the Space Patrol, have the answer?

This movie has everything, hillarious comedy, fist fight action, space wars action, pirates, monsters, war machines and did i mention georgeous heroines. This is truly one the best anime adventures ever!

4-0 out of 5 stars Very funny and a change for regular Ako fans.
For you regular A-ko fans this is a change in pace with A-ko and B-ko working together and neither of them knowing C-ko. Lots fo battles and as usual a lot of humor, even a few jplot twist. For those unfamiliar with A-ko she is a teenage shcool girl who also happens to hac super strength and is trained in the deadlier arts, this mixes in with just some slight lesbian overtones as A-ko and B-ko, an immensly rich technological genius, duke it out repeatedly over the "freindship" of one impossibly cute C-ko. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Ending !
This show is the Babylon 5 of anime. Who'd have thought that the simple storyline of a young girl pursued by jewel thieves at the start would finish like this ? I've just finished viewing this finale and still cant get over how well done it was. What a great, no AMAZING series ! My only gripes are that its now finished (I wish they had done a sequel series, yes I know there is "The Movie" to come ... however I've been told that was done to cash in on Nadia's popularity, different writers/animators, so I'm not expecting anything great from it) and the minor video artefacts throughout. I dont want to "spoil" anything so I wont give any of the storyline away in these final episodes. The cover recommends viewing by 12 years and up however I've sat through this entire series with my 8 year old niece and had to fast forward only one scene I thought would have been too disturbing for her, where the crewman is sacrificed to save the Nautilus, Jean's heart rending cries were just too well acted. To finish, fantastic ending, great storyline throughout, characters you'll love and hate (Gargoyle !) that'll make you laugh and cry, to me (an anime newbie) this is what anime is all about. P.S. Love the music too !

5-0 out of 5 stars A truly wonderful finale.
Now THIS is truly an excellent volume. It brings the series to a close, but not before shocking revelations, unexpected twists and surprises, emotionally gripping drama, love beyond death, and a tearjerking ending keep you on the edge of your seat. Featuring spectacular animation effects, clever writing, and some truly terrific music, the ending of the series more than lives up to its name as being one of the best climaxes in any Anime. The voice acting on both the Japanese and the English language tracks deliver their best ever on this volume. Not that the English dub is perfect, though. Despite the great voice acting, some lines in the last episode are awkwardly written (particularly the Epilogue), and some lines on the Japanese language track are not spoken at ALL on the English dub. Otherwise, the dub is decent.

The only other drawbacks are: sometimes fuzzy sound quality on the dub, not-as-decent video transfer, and the same textless opening and closing animations as extras (we already got those as extras on Volumes 1-3).

But the good far outweighs the bad, with text interviews with the cast members (some woefully short), and, well, the content presented here. I have rather mixed feelings about this show coming to a close, and wish they could have done more with it, but NADIA: THE SECRET OF BLUE WATER, in spite of not being perfect, is a decent TV series with enough good points to outweigh the bad. Just don't buy each volume individually, especially since there are some moments that are detestable. The things that really make this series spin is not the uneven medium part of the story, but the beginning (Volumes 1-2) and the finale (Last 3/4 of Volume 9 and this volume). If anything, these are the highest selling points of the show. And that's not half a bad thing, either.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Satisfying Conclusion to an Epic Series.
For a long time, I waited and waited for the final DVD of "Nadia" to come out. And finally, it did. And the conclusion is more then satisfactory!
The characters return, and we are treated to one of the best animated battle scenes (Non-CGI!) with excellent animation and FX.
The English voices for Nemo and Gargoyle hit their best in this; making their lines one of the best English voice-acting I've heard in a long time.
The ending is one of the best I've seen. Original in a lot of ways, and a great ending with no letdowns. And the interviews of the voice actors was definately a plus, showing a rare glimpse into the actors who offered such great vocal performances for an anime dub.
Definately a great series with an even greater conclusion.
My few problems: the transfer is not as crystal clear as other DVDs I've seen. And for a final DVD, all we really get as "Extras" are credit-less opening and closing animations, (Which is what we got in the first four DVDs). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Entertaining Anime!
Based on the Sony PlayStation game by the same name, Monster Rancher (Monster Farm in Japanese) is a fun, surprisingly deep anime series about a boy named Genki on a journey to stop the evil Mu from taking over the world. Together with his friends, Tiger of the Wind, Mocchi, Suezo, Golem, Hare and Holly, Genki plans to unleash the legendary Phoenix, the only being supposedly capable of stopping Mu.

Consisting of more than seventy, roughly twenty-five minute episodes, Monster Rancher is never a bore. With its wide variety of characters and subplots, it's hard to dislike this anime. In addition to the main cast, there is host of fun subplot and semi-regular characters on the show. Unfortuantly, the English dub has had a few scenes featuring violence edited out. The animation quality is very good, and the voice cast features the talents of Brian Drummond (Tiger), Paul Dobson (Mu), Janyse Jaud
(Pixie), and Andrew Francis (Genki).

Even if you did not enjoy the game, this anime is likely to catch and hold your interests. It's better developed in terms of plot and characterization than most other animes for kids, making it more watchable for adults. Overall, this series really deserves more than just five stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars Monster Rancher! A Great Anime!
Okay, so mabye this show *IS* like Pokemon and Digimon combined, but like those other shows, it starts out the same go's on a compleatly different and fun plot! Plus I think it should be noted that this is the first show that actually shows the Playstation in it!

1. In The Begining (5/5)

In this episode we find out that Genki wins a special CD-ROM from a "Monster Battle" contest (This WAS called something else in Japan) at the beginning of the show! But for some reason this CD-ROM disk pulls him into the game! To make matters worse, he came at a point where Moe (The bad guy) is capturing goodies (Good guys) and turning them into baddies (Bad guys)! But the funny thing is, no one know why! Later durning a mystery disk transfer (The unlocking of whatever monster was trapped in that thing) one of the dino guys says that Moe will find his old body!!! Not alot, but we at least something to get us to watch episode two. After unlocking Mocchi from the mystery disk ours hero's travel to the next adventure! Not bad for the first episode!

2. I'm Mocchi (4/5)

Not to much happens in this episode. Genki and the others find an old couple living outside the forrest in a cabin. Feeling tired and hungry they ask if they could stay for the night. The couple really love Mocchi (And Mocchi loves them) and spend all night with him playing! They explain how they never had a chance to have children with the war that's been going on, so they treat monsters as if they were their children! The next day the gang go to the temple to unlock another monster and decide as a thank you to the couple, they give the monster to them to take care of!

3. Guardian Of The Disks (5/5)

The gang stumble upon a garden with nothing but mystery disks! Problem is that they're all dead mystery disks because they were killed by Moo and his men! But the guardian of the disks Golem tells them if someone were to find the Phonix (I don't know if I'm spelling that right) all these disks would dissapear, and all the monsters would be restored into good healthy monsters! But the garden gets attacked and Golem must defend the place! After defeating the dino's Golem decides to go with Genki and the others!

Over all not bad! The story doesn't really start to pick up till later on in the show, but this is a great show none-the-less! Highly recomended!

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS THE BEST ANIME SHOW EVER!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love this show! Anyone who is into anime should definetly see it! All the monsters are sooo cool!

5-0 out of 5 stars this show is great
i really like this show. i haven't seen it in a long time, but it is one of the best shows aimed for a younger audience that i've seen. monster rancher may not interest those who are way into the major bloody fight seens, but it is perfect for the younger viewers out there.

5-0 out of 5 stars How many have YOU unlocked?
Monster Rancher, yet another Pokemon/Digimon clone? Not hardly. Monster Rancher stands by itself and isn't a clone of anything. Genki wins a contest and gets a new game for his PlayStation in the mail. He plays the game to watch a girl and a monster run away from the Black Dino troops. She enters a shrine (although, the game calls it a "ruined temple") and unlocks a disk. Instead of unlocking a monster, Genki is pulled into the weird world and makes friends with Holly and her monster!
I haven't heard of the Monster Rancher video game until I saw the series. I watched it on TV...but soon lost track of it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Now Shipping With Five episodes Included
I just received my DVD from Amazon a few days ago and I am glad to say it is the new version that includes all 5 episodes 106-110. I am writing this review to update the info posted by Amazon which appears to be out of date. This is one of my favorite DBZ DVDs to date because of the variety. There is not much fighting, but after the mind numbing repetitiveness of the earlier Frieza series, where they managed to stretch a 5 minute battle over several DVDs, this is a very welcome break.

This is the correct info from the back of my DVD
TRUNKS - Prelude to Terror [Ep. 106, 107, 108, 109, 110]

Welcome Back Goku - After handily beating Frieza and his evil father, King Cold, the mysterious stranger announces the exact time and place of Goku's arrival on Earth. But can this young Super-Saiyan predict the future?! Gohan and the others are determined to find out!

Mystery Revealed - After testing Goku in combat, the mysterious stranger reveals his true identity! But what does his timely arrival portend?! In a startling conversation with Goku, this powerful emissary from the future tells all!

Goku's Special Technique - The future has been written -- or has it? That's what Goku and the rest of the Z Fighters must decide as they learn of Trunks' ominous warning. The Androids are coming! And they just might be bringing the end of the world along with them!

Z Warriors Prepare - Gohan's learning some new tricks. Vegeta is pushing himself to the breaking point, and Yamcha's struggling just to keep up as everyone prepares to face the looming Android menace! But will all of these preparations be enough?

Goku's Ordeal - Chi-Chi wants a car! And Goku must take a day off from training to enroll in driving school! These two mighty warriors may be the Earth's only chance of survival, but what are the chances they'll learn how to parallel park?

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent DVD, it would be a shame not to buy it
This DVD comes with 5 spectacular episodes, making it an excellent edition to your Dragon Ball Z Collection. The first episode concludes Trunks's fight with King Kold. (Well, it technically shows the final death of Frieza, but that is also shown in the previous DVD along with the rest of the fight.) Anyway, the first episode on this DVD has the fight with King Kold and then the part where Trunks takes everyone to meet Goku. In the second episode, Trunks and Goku talk and he reveals some pretty astounding secrets. Make sure to watch the third episode in Japanese, if you decide to watch any of them in Japanese. The English one actually says completely incorrect information. (Yeah right, it won't take them three years to collect the Dragon Balls.)

Anyway, that's the first three episodes. The other two are filler but still very fun to watch. (Actually, they are some of the best, specifically the second.) The fourth episode on this DVD details how everyone prepares for the upcoming battle, including Vegeta's training in 400G. It's pretty exciting to watch all that happens. The last episode has Goku and Picollo learning to drive, which is really funny and exciting too. As for the DVD itself, it has no bonus features, but most Dragon Ball Z fans should be used to this. It is a great DVD to buy, so make sure you do!

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite DBZ Episodes - But this disc does not have all 5
I bought this DVD expecting to receive the later version with all 5 episodes like other customers who wrote reviews did. However, about a week before christmas I received it and it only had 3 episodes on it. I was very disappointed and sent it back and purchased it somewhere else that had the copy with all 5 episodes. Amazon was fair regarding the return and is suppose to reimburse me - even for the return shipping. Just make sure you call or verify somehow that the copy you are purchasing has all 5 episodes if that's what you are looking for.

The Trunks saga is by far some of mine and my sons favorite episodes. Definetly a must have for any DBZ fan.

4-0 out of 5 stars Goku Returns
With Frieza about to meet his end at the hands of Trunks, King Cold is next on the list. With those two out of the way, the gang joins Trunks while they're waiting for Goku. When Goku finally lands on Earth, he is confronted by Trunks and they both go super saiyan. After that, Trunks tells Goku about the androids and he was warned that he would catch a heart virus. After that, Trunks bids everyone fare well befroe he returns to his time. After that, everyone decides if they would get involved in the fight against the androids. Then, the training begins! During the training, what the hell is Chi Chi's problem interfering in the training for the most important battle in everyone's lives. Before you know it, three years has passed and the battle begins! Will there be a difference this time than what Trunks predicted? Stay tuned!!!!!!!!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun movie, faithful to the manga
What a great, great movie. I've been getting back into samurai flicks after a long hiatus. I wanted to see this after having seen Kill Bill v.1 -- you can see the influence after watching Lone Wolf and Cub -- and boy, this movie and its vol. 2 sequel (baby cart on river styx) -- great!

Clean picture, clean sounds. This is an awesome DVD. I also read the manga before the DVD and can say: it is very faithful to the manga, doing a wonderful job of bringing the Kojima's artwork to the screen. Readers of Dark Horse's manga series, vol. 1 will recognize the care taken to adapt the manga.

I showed this film to a bunch of friends and they hooted and hollered. Great fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars The film is excellent, the DVD transfer is...brilliant!
The DVD transfer is trash? Um, yeah...For everyone who owns an old VHS copy of the film, throw it out the window and purchase this version. The movie has NEVER looked and sounded better than it has on this brillant DVD transfer. You can't tell the film was made over 30 years ago. Animeigo did a great job restoring the film. The sound is great, the colors are vibrant, the subtitles are improved and easier to read; complaints do not apply here. You also get trailers for other LWC films and some Zatoichi films. And the liner notes are very long, but informative. You'll learn a lot about the setting of this film from the liner notes.

Lone wolf and cub fans need not hesitate to pick this one up. If you've never seen the series before, you're in for a treat. Any lover of samurai films, gorehounds (blood shoots out geyser style), or if you just want to see great action films with a great story and a lot of depth (style AND substance) you need to see these films. Pick it up before the rumored remake is released, although really the film has been "remade" several times ("Shogun Assassin," "Road to Peredition," "Kill Bill" etc.). But nothing beats the original. The "Lone Wolf and Cub" series takes "homage" films like "Kill Bill" to school.

(At the time of this writing Amazon doesn't offer the series, so check out Animeigo's website for even more samurai titles.)

1-0 out of 5 stars Subtitles different than the VHS
The subtitles for the DVDs part with all established format for subtitles. The subtitles are placed higher on the screen, in the actual film image (!). On the tapes the subtitles are as they should be, in the black lower portion of the widescreen matte. Also, the subtitles' typeface has black borders, therefore increasing the amount of image intruded upon, and making the subtitles an irritating distraction. For some reason this company has completely trashed their excellent product. The graphic design of the DVD packaging makes the films look like B-movie rubbish.

5-0 out of 5 stars LW&C DVDs are full widescreen
Just so there is no confusion, the AnimEigo LW&C DVDs (and all our samurai DVDs) are full widescreen in the original aspect ratio. NOTHING has been chopped off or pan and scanned.

NOTHING!

The DVDs are 16:9 anamorphic encoded, and since the original films are have higher aspect ratios than this, they are letterboxed.

The confusion arises from the fact that if your haven't configured your DVD player and TV correctly (in particular, widescreen TVs), the image can appear either squashed (the Toho logo at the start will be oval) or have the sides clipped off.

What you have to do to get the best video quality is

1) if you have a widescreen TV, configure the DVD player so that it knows this, and configure the TV so it knows it is getting widescreen video. Be careful about TV modes where it displays a 16:9 image in 4:3 with the edges clipped.

2) If you have a regular 4:3 TV, make sure the DVD player is configured this way, otherwise it'll send out a 16:9 signal which will appear squashed on the TV.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality - but not Shogun Assassin
This must be one of the best quality DVD transfers I've ever seen for an "old school" martial arts movie. The picture is crisp and excellent.

"Sword of Vengeance" is part one of the "Shogun Assassin" version of the Lone Wolf and Cub movie that was released back in the 1980's and may be the version that most of us are familiar with. Shogun Assassin was dubbed in English, was faster paced, had a nice, energetic soundtrack and was frankly more entertaining. Sword of Vengeance is of course the Japanese original and is a great movie by itself. However, for those of you out there who are hoping to have "Shogun Assassin" on DVD will be disappointed. Sword of Vengeance is much slower paced and I found myself skipping ahead to the fighting scenes. Still a classic and a must have for any martial arts library. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Ranma 1/2 TV Series Vol 1
This was the one that started it all. In this tape is the first episode of the long running Martial Arts-Comedy Ranma ½. It's extremely funny and it introduces the main story that is Ranma and of course some of that great smart mouth comedy.

In the first episode, Soun Tendo tells his 3 daughters that his old friend, Genma Soatome and his son Ranma, will be coming to stay with them. When they are supposed to show up, instead of a man and his son showing up, a PANDA carrying a GIRL shows up at their door step. The Tendo girls, Kasumi, Nabiki and Akane, then asume that Ranma is a girl and not a boy. After a bath, the Tendo's find out that the Panda and the girl are INDEED Genma and Ranma! Genma then tells them about their dreadful journey to the Chinese training ground called Jusenkyo and how the waters of Jusenkyo can turn whoever falls into them whatever drowned there many years ago.

In episode 2, it's Ranma's first day at his new high school with Akane and Nabiki. And right off the bat, he meets Furinkan High School's greatest champion (and biggest pervert) Tatewaki Kuno. Kuno takes issue with Ranma because he's being too familiar with Akane and challenges Ranma to a fight. Now Ranma has to put Kuno in his place and Kuno has to beat Ranma and show him that he is the Blue Thunder of Furinkan. Ranma also finds out why Akane hates boys so much!

In my opinion, the first TV series is one of the best in the entire Ranma catalogue. Tape 1 has a lot of great laughs and some really funny lines in it as well. Like this hilarious exchange between Ranma and Akane...

"Me? Marry that pervert? Never!" "Hey wait a minute, what do you mean pervert?!"

If you're a new fan of the series, check out the entire First TV season and make sure you start with Tape/DVD 1. You won't be disappointed! Just remember that there are 2 different tapes, one is in English and the other is in Japanese language/English subtitles.

5-0 out of 5 stars Me? Marry that pervert? NEVER!
In this first episode to one of the most hilarious animated series ever created, we get introduced to Ranma, Akane, Genma, Soun, Nabiki, and the loveable Kasumi. Here in this episode we see Ranma and Akane meet for the first time as Ranma's transformation secret is exposed. To make matters worse the two are being forced to get married against their will because their fathers arranged it. In the second episode we get introduced to one of the funniest characters in the series Tatewaki "Blue thunder" Kuno age 17. Tatewaki happens to be in love with Akane and refuses to accept Ranmas engagement to her. This is the founding volume for the entire Ranma 1/2 anime series. This is a must have for any serious collector of Ranma 1/2. There is some nudity in this tape but no real questionable content.

3-0 out of 5 stars Dancing Pandas? What were they thinking?
I first got this tape because I loved the comic book. However, I don't remember any dancing pandas in the comic book. The pandas are only in the theme song, but that's still one time too many. If you survive the theme song, you are then treated to some of the great comedy from the comics. However, those who've read the comics will notice that much of the best stuff is missing. Also, even though this whole tape is based on the first volume of the comics which had 14 episodes, this tape only has the first four crammed into two episodes. One good point is that this is cheaper than the DVD. For those who expect the whole comedy of the comic will be disappointed, but for cheap beginners this is a good start.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best. Series. Ever.
This is seriously the best anime series of all time and one of the best series ever made. It's funny as hell, and it's about a boy (Ranma) and a girl (Akane) who get promised for marriage, but they don't like each other. And whenever cold water is poured on Ranma, he becomes a girl. Hilarious.

5-0 out of 5 stars Surpise! I am hooked.
At first, I really didn't want to watch this series. I thought it was going be a waste of time. It appeared to be mass produced and liked by the younger pre-teen age group.

I picked it up and set it back down. Never really sure if it would be anything worthwhile. But curiousity took over.

To my surpise, I enjoyed it. It was very funny. It has a great sense of humor. Very good storyline and plot. It was well done. It was one of the best anime out there. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Close but no Cigar (DVD) Unedited version a must have!
I watched this originally in Japan, it was great! I was disapointed that this selection was not available on DVD. The other problem I had was the sound keeps cuting in and out, VERY ANNOYING!!! Otherwise the movie was great especially when Master Roshii gets his magazine. The fighting sequences are great and it begins the lifelong friendship of Goku and Krillin. I would recommend this for any collector, it's fun to watch. Introduced is also Lunch who changes from Blonde to Brunette when she sneezes very Lara Crofty.

2-0 out of 5 stars dissapointing
First of all, the plot was, well, bad. It just didn't seem to have the same spark as the rest of the series. Second, none of the original voice actors signed on to this, and the replacements were annoyingly bad. Even the animation seemed like whoever put this together didn't care, they just needed the excuse to bring in Krillin(which was a decent part of the plot, if the only part). I may be overly picky, but this video just wasn't up to par with the rest of the series. Oh well, I'll drown my sorrow in DBZ.

4-0 out of 5 stars A GREAT MOVIE... (but the plot finishes TOO quickly)!!!!!!!!
The reason I give this movie a four-star rating is because whenever Goku turns into a giant ape, instead of making the scene a lot longer Puar turns into a pair of siccors and cuts his tail without a problem!!!!????!!!!!

Anyway, this movie is a great selection if you like the "Dragon Ball" series. If you like "Curse of the Blood Rubies" and "Secret of the Dragon Ball" (volume #1)then you'll love this movie.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool movie-intros two new characters into the series as well
This is really great movie! Nice animation, and neat plot, along with two new characters. I noticed though that the dialogue is a little 'low volumed' in a few spots (only in the Dubbed version-the Subtitled version doesn't have this problem.) Probably from the sound studio mikes-no big deal. Its still easy to make out what they're saying. Plus, the movie moves on quite quickly. So fast in fact that the whole thing is about 42 minutes in length. So note the quick moving plot... I like the fact that they put them out in two versions. Uncut may be a LITTLE (not much) more explicit, but I think it describes the character's personalities better. For example-Kame Sennin's (Roshi-if you're familiar with the English version) perverted disposition-not shown nearly as much if its edited. All in all though, a GREAT movie! I hope they continue putting the rest of the episodes of the original Dragon Ball out, because FUNimation is about 119 episodes behind! Oh well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Akira Toriyama's finest and most original Dragonball Movie
The newest movie in the Dragonball series poses young Goku at his finest level of fighting. Join Piccolo, Trunks, Goku, Bolma, and others as they fight for the life of a young princess. A title no anime fan should be without! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sailor Moon S vol.4 is the best
In the first episode: Mina misses her old life in england as Sailor V, the original champion of Love and Justice. And Most of all she misses Volleyball at which she excelled. But its the pure heart of her old friend that leads the Heart Snatchers to steal his Pure Heart. In episode 2: All Serena wants for her Birthday is a Pair of Glass Shoes just like Cinderella. But she's down in the dumps because Darien forgot her Birthday. Its this pure hearted fantasy that leads Kaorinight and the Herat Snatchers to steal her heart. In episodse 3: this is part 2 of the second episode. To help save Serena after the Monster finds out that she's Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus disguises as Sailor Moon to help Save her life.

4-0 out of 5 stars Serena's Birthday Blues...
For all of you sailor moon fans, this video would probably be a defenite favorite in any S season collection. For those of you who only watch the uncut versions, you'd be surprised about how well this dubbed version was layed out. I think the dub versions are totally cool! I wish people would stop saying so many mean things about the edited versions!!! Some people here are younger than 10 (which I'm not!) and wouldn't like the uncut versions. People who are like 12 and 13 are just encouraging people who are young to see these unapprportiate themes that are the uncut and subtitled versions. So please, don't say negative things about the dubbed versions! Anyway, in the first episode of this video, Mina feels that she doesn't have time for a social life with all the sailor buisness. She thinks it's time to leave the sailor scouts for a while because she misses vollyball and that cute guy, Jamie. But, soon after, Mina realizes that Jamie's in danger! Kaorinite is back and looking for trouble! In episode two, it is the first of a 2-part episode. It is called: Birthday Blues Part 1. Hooray!!! It's Serena's birthday... only one problem. Nobody cares. Not even Darien (Serena's boyfriend) has given her a little hug or even a present. Serena feels terrible at the way all her friends are treating her. But more bad luck comes its way when the heart snatchers target Serena and Sailor Uranes and Neptune think twice before giving Serena back her heart crystal. Uh oh, Kaorinite has stolen Serena's crystal brooch so she can't transform into Sailor Moon! Worst of all, her beloved Tuxedo Mask is trapped and frozen in an ice crystal. The episode would end here but luckily, you have the last episode which is Birthday Blues Part 2. Will Kaorinite find out that serena is really Sailor Moon? Or will the scouts think of something. I don't want to spoil the great middle part that saves serena her idendity! Are all seven sailor scouts finally at peace with eachother? Maybe, maybe not. But with all their powers joined together, this could be the end of a very annoying enemie... Please, all of you sailor moon fans... even if you prefer uncut versions, this a great video!!! I always watch it about 2 times a-day with all my other Sailor Moon videos ready to go, my Sailor Moon manga, ready to have a Sailor Soon day!

4-0 out of 5 stars Birthday Blues
Ok. I like this. But some of the reviews talk about the uncut subtitled version. If you want to review that, go find the item that is the uncut subtitled version! This item is the dubbed only! Episodes:
Individual Happiness
Birthday Blues, Part 1
Birthday Blues, Part 2
If you have this and know the episodes as:
Retire as a Sailor Soldier?! Minako's Concern
Usagi In Tears! Glass Shoes for her Birthday
The Pure Heart Stolen! Usagi's Biggest Crisis!
then you are in the wrong place! This is for the dub. Ok, on to the real review. I used to love this. I have had this for a few years, and just now I got Sailor Moon S Heart Collection 2 (or whatever it's called) and it had these episodes on it. What confuses me about that DVD is that in the titles, it still calls them by the Japanese names, even though it's the dub. Same in the credits. Oh well, it's still great! I know people like the uncut subtitled versions of Sailor Moon, but I tried it and after a few minutes, was freaked out by it! I thought it was really weird, although that might have been because it was my first time ever doing a subtitled thing (unless you count the Chobits opening and closing songs).

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool, Cool, Cool!
This is a great video. If you are a big sailor venus fan, this is a video you don't want to miss. The third episode shows mina as sailor mina moon! Its so cute. I give 5 stars because of that episode.

5-0 out of 5 stars Memories of my favorite anime series ever
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon brings back so many memories. When I was very young and Sailor Moon first came out, I found it by fate by flipping the channels. Back then no one else watched it and it was on at 6:00 in the morning. The fikrst episode I saw was the first episode ever, episode 1, the first episode. Many years later I reunited with it and then I ordered the Japanese episodes fansubbed. The Japanese episodes were amazing. Back then their was no official distributer, so I ordered from a fansubbed distributer. The Japanese version was so different form the American version. It was completely different. I love both versions though. The English version brings back memories from my childhood while the Japanese version is uncut. It's fun comparing the episodes and seeing how much was changed. This version, however, is the edited and changed. It cuts out many scenes and makes a lot of changes. While it has changed a lot from the original Japanese version, it's great for a trip down memory lane, and brings back my childhood memories. This volume has very romantic episodes. In this volume, my favorite anime couple ever, Serena/Darien aka Usagi/Mamoru, I use both their English and Japanese names, since I love both versions, have many romantic moments. They are my favorite couple ever. Tuxedo Kamen is so wonderful and charming. He was my hero when I was a young girl, and he's still me hero now. He will always be the most charming anime man. I love Tuxedo Kamen/Mask. He is so wonderful, and hot. Anyway, this is recommended by me, but I suggest you buy the Japanese version as well. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid This Movie!
"Prisoner Maria - The Movie" is one of the worst things I have ever seen. To begin with, while Noriko Aota is very beautiful, to make her more appealing they use much older, marginally attractive women for the "erotic" scenes.
The "erotic" scenes are graphic forced rape (mostly gang related). We're not talking sanitized merely ripping off clothing, this is full on beating with fists, gun butts and clubs and lots of it.
Add to which the amount they expect from "willing suspension of disbelief" is incredible. At one point they have Maria trapped. She is hiding behind two quarter inch bars of steel making up a scaffolding and the guy with an Uzzi can't hit her only though she's only some six feet away (and he manages to expel three clips trying to do it).
The story is ludicrous, the casting appalling, and the escapes insulting in light of common sense.
Do yourself a favor, if you're looking for a movie in this genre look to "Zero Woman". Very much the same thing only well done. I found out about "Prisoner Maria" the hard way, I bought it!

3-0 out of 5 stars "Take caution if you are planning to buy this movie."
Not to be confused with it's manga form. It is played by live actors, and is not anime. Noriko Aota, japanese pop singer, plays Maria, the lead role for this movie. The plot is that Maria kills the mob boss, who murdered her husband. When she is sent to jail, the warden makes her become an assasin for an outside, out of law organization. It is very action packed. But do not wath this movie if you are under 18, because it contains lots of nudity. All in all, its a pretty cheezy movie, but it's only recomended if you're a fan. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT EPISODES
SAILOR MOON fans will love this videotape which includes 4 episodes of the cult Anime series.

"Jupiter Comes Thundering In" - The Scouts quickly welcome their newest member just as the Negaverse rears its ugly head.

"The Power of Friendship" - Queen Beryl's latest attack on Earth has dire consequences for the Scouts.

"Mercury's Mental Match" - Amy's blossoming friendship with her new classmate is threatened when it is discovered that he is a carrier of a Rainbow Crystal.

"An Artful Attack" - Serena and Darien befriend popular artist Peggy Jones, who is discovered to be a Rainbow Crystal carrier.

Highly-recommended.

4-0 out of 5 stars Jupiter Crashes
This video contains the episodes: Jupiter Comes Thundering In, The Power of Friendship, Mercury's Mental Match, & An Artful Attack. When Jupiter arrives the Negaverse starts stealing rainbow crystals from humans on earth. Jupiter kicks butt in this video and does it good. Mercury has an admirer too. Serena and Darian finally sit down next to each other and don't fight, only because they are getting their portrait done by an artist.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jupiter aka Lita Kino aka Kino Makoto....
Ok here's the deal. Of all the vids availble of the first season I haveto rate this as the second best. (who can beat the ending anyway?) With the arival of Lita we have an entirely new angle cast on the characters. Finaly we have a team member who opens a locked door by BLASTING IT OPEN! Jupiter is perhaps my favorite Scout/Senshi (whatever you decide to call them) so I have a bit of a bias here. :( BUT, the plot thickens considerably at this point and the action gets frantic VERRY soon so if you're only up to this part of the series, the best is yet to come. ... The kids and their pet monsters have forsaken the city for thecountryside in this trio of episodes from the animated TV series. 5-0 out of 5 stars 3 TV Episodes
Includes Ninja Poke-Showdown (Ash tries to get soul badge at Fuchsia Gym-a ninja mansion), Flame Pokemon-athon (Dario rigs the Pokemon race, wounding Lara) and Kangaskhan Kid (a lost boy, Tommy, raised by Kangaskhan, is reunited with his family by Ash & Pikachu).

4-0 out of 5 stars A cute video, but.......
This is sort of boring, too..........I'll check out some other pokemon videos....

4-0 out of 5 stars Two outta three ain't bad...
You know the drill, Pokemon is great, three Pokemon eps on a DVD/VHS, yadda yadda yadda. The first episode is "The Ninja-Poke Showdown", in which Ash sets out to win a Soul Badge from Gym Leader Koga, but he must first naviagate a mansion full of tricks and traps as well as deal with Koga's sister Aya (whom Brock immediately develops a crush for, of course). And naturally, Team Rocket has to butt in, with their most outrageous entrance yet.
Then it's off to the Safari Zone in "The Pokemon Flame-athon". In this five star episode, the gang meets Lara Laramie, who is a member of the Laramie family who breed powerful Pokemon. She has her heart set on winning the annual Pokemon race the next day, with her faithful Ponyta. But disaster falls upon her, thanks to her rival Dario and Team Rocket, and she breaks her arm, unable race. Ash volunteers to help her out, but there's one slight problem... he's never ridden a horse before! Can Ash and Ponyta beat Dario? And what other tricks does Team Rocket have up their sleeve?
Finally, comes one of the worst episodes of Pokemon ever made. "The Kangaskhan Kid" is a huge, unmanageable mess. In the Safari Zone, Ash and company come across a couple searching for their child they lost several years ago, who has lived among the Kangaskhan and become the Kangaskhan Kid. This episode was very, very bad. The dialouge made no sense, and the animation was stiff and mechanical, unlike the smooth animation of the previous two eps. Fortunately, this episode is at the end, so you can just shut off the DVD after "The Pokemon Flame-Athon"
Despite the addition of this horrible episode, the other two are well worth the purchase with terrific animation and well-told stories.

5-0 out of 5 stars Rini's risky friendship
In this video, Rini finds out a little bit more about Hotaru's past. She also finds out that Amara really doesn't like her. How can Rini keep up a friendship if people tell her not to? As always she and Serena can't help staying out of trouble. Of course why is staying out of trouble a problem when you can get rid of it? Oh well. I guess those two will never truly get along with each other.

They both know they must help the innocent victim but they can't transform infront of everyone but they do and everyone knows who everyone else is! In the second episode Eudial gets mad at her colleagues for maing fun of her and works even harder to find the holders of a talismen.Haruka and Michuru tell Usagi that if she or anyone of her friends shows up in front of them again they'll kill them, Once she does she takes them away from 2 people who you would never expect. In the third Eudial finnaly steals the Talismens and traps the inner Soldiers but mabye the new arrival of Sailor Pluto can help them get out of this sticky situation.

Buy this Video, I promise you won't regret it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A definate must get for fans!
There is four great things that happen in this movie:
1. The scouts know Uranus and Neptune's true identities { But THEY know that Serena is Sailor Moon}!
2. Sailor Pluto reappears.
3. We find out who has the pure hearts.
4. Sailor Moon gets the Purity Chalice/ Holy Grail.
In the first episode:
Mina is jealous that the Heart snatchers haven't targeted her yet, but she may get her wish.
In the second episode:
Amara and Michelle go to the Marine Cathdrel, where they meet the holder of the pure hearts.
In the third episode:
The three tailismans join to make the Purity Chalice/ Holy Grail.
I advise all Moonie fans {if you haven't got this moive yet} to get it off of this site when it's back in stock, or off of another that has it in stock if you can't wait.

5-0 out of 5 stars What's going on?
First of all, you NEED to buy this in the uncut version. The version they showed on TV skips a part, and for that reason, the whole first part of the episode made NO sense. I'm quite glad I bought the uncut version because I never would have understood.

This video is the first with "Trista Meioh" (pronounced Mayo...) in it. She is Sailor Pluto, the secret guardian of the gates of time. This is also the video where they find the 3 talismans or "Crystal Treasures" in the most ironic places, and the Messiah is supposed to appear. This video also ends the life of the current Witch in charge of the "Bureau of Bad Behavior".

You're going to have to see this video if you wish to understand Sailor Moon S.

5-0 out of 5 stars Suprise!
My opions on this video tape is "It's full of suprises to the scouts!" Anyway, it's a great show, many secrets will be revaled in this one. I think you'll like it, because it's one of the best Salior Moon shows. One more thing I like to say is that you are not suppose to tell what people what are on the items you are reviewing, so if you want to write a review, be sure of that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Death of the Outer Sailor Senshi?
This tape is brillant! The first episode is about Minako feeling left out cause she hasn't had her pure heart hunted. The sailor soldiers find out the true identies of Uranus and Neptune.
The second episode reveals the keepers of the talismans and is really romantic and sad.
In the last episode the Holy Grail is revealed and the soldiers have a new mission.

Description

A fan favorite for years, this series is again available. Unlike today's other children's shows which are utterly devoid of meaning, Kimba stands alone... and it's now back to show new generations how good a show can be. Also, you might see for yourself the similarities to another big-screen picture about a lion king. Contains four more episodes of the 1966 classic series, uncut and with the original dialogue.

5. "Journey into Time"
Kimba learns that jealousy can extend beyond the grave, when King Speckerex decides he should be King of the Jungle.

6. "Restaurant Trouble"
When persistent squabbles over food erupt anew, Kimba reasons that an animal restaurant would solve the jungle's problems.

7. "The Bad Baboon"
Dan'l Baboon has a visit from his past: an evil baboon named Big-O has returned to exact revenge!

8. "The Wind in the Desert"
When Caesar was taken from the jungle, many of the animals fell under the rule of Claw. This dictator now sees the opportunity to increase his power! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, the original show available again!
You've seen the imitations.. the "Lion Prince," Pioneer's "New Adventures of Kimba".. these are nothing compared to the original. Finally, the original voices and music with the original episodes. The prints used were excellent, certainly the color and sound quality were much better than I expected from a 30 year old show. The theme song brought back many many memories.

A definite MUST BUY! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars no where to rent this tape!
No where to find or rent this tape so I bought this tapes for its worthwhile coz i'm studying swordsmanship right now. but of course so differ from at home watching them duel. really easy to say than to do.they probably did so many takes to perfected the film.

4-0 out of 5 stars Restore Order....Kill Everyone!
This is the 5th Entry in the Series of Lone Wolf & Cub, and this one starts off with 5 emmissaries testing our hero, former Shogun Executioner, Ogami Itto. Of course 5 emmissaries testing Ogami, means 5 duels, 5 sliced up and dead emmissaries, 500 pieces of gold and the 5 bits of information Itto needs to do the job.

These 5 gave up their lives for their Clan which is in peril because the Lord of the Clan favors his concubine and is passing off her DAUGHTER as his son. A major no-no. Especially since he HAS a living son. This information has been written down and given by the Lord to a trusted holy man, the Abbott Jikei, who turns out to be a spy in cahoots with the Yagyu Clan, Ogami's sworn enemies.

So Ogami sets out to restore order to the Clan by: killing the Abbott & stealing the document (nice bit that!), and later killing half the clan to get to the Lord and doing him, his concubine and the child. Of course, Ogami manages all this with his trademark ferocity & remorseless implacability. Our filmakers do not neglect the arterial blood sprays and lopped extremities here and there, and other traits of swordfighting messiness we've come to expect.

There is a sidestory about a pickpocket "Quick Change Oyoo" that serves no purpose other than to have Ogami's little son, Daigoro, take a flogging with the same stoicism of his old man.

Anyway, plenty of stylish photography, lots of spurting blood, and an authentic look as to period detail, and a grim look at the rigorous code of conduct in that period. The Liner Notes and Subtitles help a lot. Man, these people believed in their Clans!

2-0 out of 5 stars I was in this movie
My name is Gerard Depardieu, and I had a small "bit" part in this film. Some people think it was my best work, but I had to wear a shirt, unlike in 1492. Anyway, it is hard for me to act in the, how you say, confines of my shirt. I like samurai, and eating babies,

5-0 out of 5 stars the best of babycart
this the best in the series and I haven't even seen the third title yet. The shear conflict posed by the clan in it's attempt to right the wrong of it's former leader before his actions are dicovered isalmost un believeable. this is the true meaning of the code of bushido. Ogamii embraces their plight as if he were a member of the clan. Going as far as to face the old lord and chastise him for his selfish and selfdestructive actions. the cinematography is excellent and choreography if top notch, using many different sword styles and weapons. And as always little Daigoro give us all alesson in being a true samurai at the ripe old age of 3 . Many seem to think that Ogamii is seeking revenge as he travels around japan. But they are mistaken. I think he is biding time til his son can come of age and then together they will takeRetsudo's other eye and his head as well. this is a classic and should be regarded as so by any true nipponaphile would agree.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Babycart Assassin
This is one story from an amazingly detailed legend of a samuri and his 3 year old son. Itto Ogami (the samuri) was framed and his family murdered. Now Ogami roams like a ronin throughout Japan, with his son, as an assassin for hire. He seeks revenge against the clan that framed him through treachery and becomes a thorn in their side. This is a classic that anyone who enjoys martial arts, japanese legends, japanese comic books, samuri flicks, or action packed movies with beautiful scenery would love! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What's next? I finally know!
In Dragon Ball Z- Cell Games: Surrender, the crucial action picks up as Goku spars against Cell in the Cell Games. This video ended on a high note as *spoiler* Goku makes the shocking announcement that he wouldn't fight Cell anymore. This video first hit the shelves in November 2001, and many of us have been as apprehensive as Goku's fellow Z Fighters about what would happen next. Who else would be mighty enough to take on the godlike android? Goku knew, and wasn't worried at all!
Well, as of today (December 10, 2002), DBZ fans can at long last get the answer to this question as Chapters 6 (Cell Games: Earth's Last Hope) and 7 (Cell Games: Awakening) of the Cell Games saga are released! For those of you who remember fondly watching these episodes on Cartoon Network so long ago, here's your chance to see one of the most thrilling battles of the entire DBZ series once again!
And some more good news. Chapters 8 (Cell Games: Sacrifice) and 9 (Cell Games: Nightmare's End) will be released on January 21, 2003); practically no time at all! The climactic episodes of the Kid Buu saga (Kid Buu: Vegeta's Plea and Kid Buu: The Price of Victory) will be released earlier in the month (January 7). The two most powerful villians of DBZ, going down in the same month!! No doubt about it, the first month of 2003 will the best one ever for DBZ fans!

4-0 out of 5 stars The Cell Games Continue
This vhs contains 3 episodes:

Episode 163:Cell`s Bag Of Tricks: As the Z Warriors watch the epic battle, Super Sayin Goku finds himself matched against familiar moves. But when Cell reveals some old moves with new strategies, Goku might not be able to win!

Episode 164:No More Rules: As Goku and Cell unleash their strongest attacks against eachother, Cell destroys the fighting ring, and decides the this tournement is better off with no rules! Now Goku and Cell are clashing in a battle where winner takes all!

Episode 165: The Fight Is Over: The horror ends as Goku seals victory by firing a Kamehameha wave, wiping Cell to nothing. But Cell uses the remaining bit of his energy to fully restore his amazing energy, and restore his body! But it seems they are more suprises around the corner!

4-0 out of 5 stars Preatty good!
This video tape is one of the best dragonballz episodes ever.It shows at the beggining how goku and cell power up(which is really awsome)and then they start to fight.Cell uses some of the Z fighter's attacks and then goku shows a new attack.........the instant transmission technique! In the middle goku puts a lot of energy into the kamehameha but he is at such a height that if he fires it at cell who is below it will destry the whole earth!!Goku uses the instant transmission technique and appears in front of cell and fires the kamehameha.Everyone thinks that he is dead but he regenarates himself and starts to attack goku.Since goku put so much energy into the kamehameha he was not able to defeat cell and so he lost. Then it ends with goku giving up.

This episode is really great!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars ....but I recomend buying something else
Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z have always had so many of the elements needed for a great anime series: drama, suspense, action, comedy. This tape is a good example.

Why recomend not buying a DBZ title despite it being so good? The companies who make it don't know how to treat the fans. I have been to a site that shows under upcoming releases what Funamation will publish the rest of this year from the DBZ series. None of the titles include anything from the Cell Games. Holding out on us fans, not publishing the last episodes of a saga before starting a new one seems to be a habit that is just getting worse. Nothing is planned for this saga for the rest of the year. What good is a story without the ending? This is the best anime series I have seen, but the publishers are killing it for us fans leaving us hanging in the end.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terror ends
The Cell Games rage on with the end geting closer. This round it's Gohan and Cell. Unlike Goku Gohan shows one hell of a display ... Read more
