5-0 out of 5 stars The best anime
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon brings back so many memories. When I was very young and Sailor Moon first came out, I found it by fate by flipping the channels. Back then no one else watched it and it was on at 6:00 in the morning. Many years later I reunited with it and then I ordered the Japanese episodes fansubbed. The Japanese episodes were amazing. Back then their was no official distributer, so I ordered from a fansubbed distributer. The Japanese version was so different form the American version. It was completely different. I love both versions though. The English version brings back memories from my childhood while the Japanese version is uncut. It's fun comparing the episodes and seeing how much was changed. This version, however, is the edited and changed. It cuts out many scenes and makes a lot of changes. While it has changed a lot from the original Japanese version, it's great for a trip down memory lane, and brings back my childhood memories. This volume has very important, romantic and lovely episodes. While it is different from the Japanese version, it brings back memories from your childhood. Tuxedo Kamen is so wonderful and charming. He was my hero when I was a young girl, and he's still me hero now. He will always be the most charming anime man. I love Tuxedo Kamen/Mask. He is so wonderful, and hot. Anyway, this is recommended by me, but I suggest you buy the Japanese version as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Red Hearts and Silver Crystals"
SAILOR MOON fans will love this great videotape which includes 4 episodes of the cult Anime series.

"Worth a Princess's Ransom" - Serena and the girls try to gatecrash the reception of the visiting Princess Diamond. Luna believes that Diamond may be the elusive Moon Princess that they have been searching for...

"Molly's Folly" - Molly's infatuation with Maxfield Stanton almosts ends in her death.

"A Friend in Wolf's Clothing" - Neflyte risks his life to save Molly as their friendship blossoms into love.

Highly-recommended.

4-0 out of 5 stars Molly's spotlight
In these 4 episodes Molly, Serena's friend, really gets Nephlyte to open his heart to her even though he is with the Negaverse. This video contains the episodes: An Animated Mess, Worth A Princess's Ransom, Molly's Folly, & A Friend In Wolf's Clothing. There are still only 3 Sailor Scouts in these episodes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nephrite's Heart gone good?

4-0 out of 5 stars The Gundam Universe Changed!
This is a great video. It includes some of the better episodesfrom the beginning of the series. Releena discovers her true originsand this changes her position in the politics of the Gundum universe. When there is an attempt on her life, Heero is forced to get involved even though he doesn't want to. Treize lays a trap for the Gundams which ends in bloodshed and sadness. It also changes how the world views the Gundams. This battle is the first to bring all of the Gundam's together. Wufei takes his anger to the source and confronts Treize in an attempt to assasinate him. A dual ensues between the two. These are definitely must see episodes for Gundam Wing fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars The first act has just begun...
As Relena and her father take off to visit the colony, Lady Une follows. When Relena's father starts the meeting with colony, Relena goes out to look around only to find that Lady Une set up a trap and ends up killing Relena's father. Une covers up the situation pretty cleverly while Relena talks with Heero's instructor, Doctor J. Meanwhile back on earth, Duo and Heero take out an OZ base. The next episodes is basically based on the relationship between Heero and Relena and a small, yer very exciting battle ensues. The final episode is by far the best. Heero, Duo, Trowa and Quatre head towards a meeting where the Earth's Sphere will meet. However, Trieze Kushrenada tricks the Gundam pilots into believing that this is where the OZ representitives are meeting. Foolishly, Heero is the one who ends up killing all the Earth Sphere leaders. Afterwards, OZ wipes out the Earth's Sphere forces around the world and the new revolution begins. The battle were just as great as the last one with some impressive camera work. The dub proofs to be worthy of Gundam Wing, though I wish Bandai hired more voice actors instead of improvising. Overall, I'd say a pretty exciting tape and not one to miss.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gundam Wing kicks anime butt
I'm pretty new to Gundam Wing, but I'm already a huge fan. "Dark Shadows" is a great tape. I watch it every day. I enjoy epid.6, cause Heero and Relena dance. Everybody has been waiting for that! hehe. This is a definiet must-have for any GW fan. It would be a good idea to watch "Shooting Stars" before "Dark Shadows" so you understand it. This a wicked tape, and the cover box is really cool too. IT HAS DEATHSCYTHE AND DUO ON IT! WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR! Also, the unedited version is cooler then the edited cause the unedited has blood and cursing. Gundam Wing just wouldn't be Gundam Wing without blood and cursing, so I suggest the unedited version. There's no price difference, so get the better. Overall, this is a kick butt tape, and Gundam Wing is a kick butt anime.^_^

5-0 out of 5 stars 5-7
With the entrance of the Gundams the true battle has begun. But is this really what the colonies desire? Once again vice forn minister Darlain leavs for the colonies taking Relena with him. But lady Une of Oz plans the asassination of minister Darlain. With minister Darlains dying breath, Relena learns the secret surounding her birth. Next, on Gundam Wing episode 5, Relena's Secret. (First episode of Volume 2)

5-0 out of 5 stars The greatest show on earth
Episodes 5-7 maneley explain ho w all the piolts met and formed a rebelion. Most of my friends thought it was animated power rangers so they wont watch them. Gundam wing could kick the power rangers @$$es. I highly recomend this video if youve seen the1st 6 shows and liked them! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for kids
As an adult who enjoys anime, I enjoyed this second installment of the Master of Mosquiton series. However, as a mom, I would not recommend this tape for younger kids due to nudity and sexual situations. My 12 year old child and I had watched the first tape, part one, and it had been suitable for her to watch, so I assumed this tape, which is the second in the series would be as well. I assumed wrong, and I had some explaining to do after watching this tape, let me tell you! I've also seen part three, the tape after this one, and it was fine for younger kids, the sexual situations and nudity seem to be solely on this tape.

5-0 out of 5 stars What do you mean you're already married!
Well, Mosquiton's in trouble double trouble! It seems he's got himself another bride. Her name's Camilla and she's been looking for her loving husband Mosquiton for ohhhh about 300 years! Now that she's found him she's got no intentions on giving him up regardless of what he wants. If you have the first tape you already know of Mosquiton's ....shall we say split personality. Well, this tape shows you more of Mosquiton's other personality once he's had say.... to much to drink! Check it out! Be warned though you have to get volume 3 of the series to see the finally.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best vampire since Vampire Hunter D!
I was lucky enough to see this in advance and this anime rocks! It's well worth buying, in both subtitled and dubbed forms... Wait until you see the end! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Hilarious
Cell vs. Mr. Satan and his 2 cohorts is priceless. Its probably
the funniest battle in all Dragonball Z.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the funniest moments in DBZ
This video is perfect for the humor sde of DBZ. The Z-warriors get to Cell's ring to fight him, but Mr. Satan gets there first. He wants to prove to the entire world that Cell's nothing but a huge fake. The man has much influence on the public. Even the reporter, who in charge of bringing the Cell games to the public, gets so confident from Mr. Satan, he make a gesture, using a certain finger, at Cell (this is un-cut, remember). After brushing off two of Mr. Satan's students, the "champ" gets in the ring in on of the most funniest moments in DBZ. This is a must have for aby DBZ fan.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Cell Games Kick Off
Hey,i have this VHS and it's a cool one , but doesn't include any serious fighting , Mr. Satan's two boys Curone and Poroski get eliminated easilly by Cell and Mr. Satan follows , finally the earth's greatest hero Goku steps in and fights Cell , but the two super powers were barelly toying with each other until Goku gets serious and starts showing his true power.

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything can be solved with wisdom, love and courage
I haven't seen this movie for a long time since I got it from the Wherehouse. My little brother and I have watched it and we both loved it. The songs are really great. You'll have them repeating over and over in your head. My favorite one is It's the Wizard of a Day. Also, I liked the messages that each of the forms of the Wizard gave to Dorothy's friends. They're really true.

5-0 out of 5 stars love love this movie
when my sister and i where little we rented this movie any chance that we could get. i thought they would have made it on dvd. but they don't. i think they should its such a wonderful movie great songs that will stay with you for a long time. me and my sister still remember some of the songs. but can't really remember the movie so i hope that the people who make this movie read this and listen and get it though there heads and bring out on dvd. thanks.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's the wizard of the Day!!!!!
This cartoon was great, unfortunatly when I was 5 my VCR destroyed it. I am 12 now. the other week I was looking at Wizard of oz stuff. And I saw the animation version of The Wizard of Oz. I was soooooo happy! I payed for it with my money. And my mom did all the online stuff of course. I saw a package on the Kitchen counter on Friday. I opened it and it was it!!! I ran to the living room and watched it. I got about half way through it Then I went to school. The movie was in my mind all day I got home and finished it. I watch it every day now. I recomend this to anyone who see's it!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
This cartoon was excellent! I really enjoyed it when I was younger, but unfortunetly, I haven't seen it for years and years.
I have wonderful memories, from this japanese anime cartoon, but only have small glimpes of the film in my mind...
Overall the cartoon was gorgeous. I haven't seen it anywhere...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, GrEaT, GREAT!!!
When I was young I'd always rent his movie at Blockbuster. I'm suprised they didn't just give the movie to me because I rented it every Friday, and never got tired of it. The songs were stuck in my head 24/7 and I'd pretend that I was TOTO!For a few years they must have put it in the back room because I didn't see it on the shelf for atleast 3 years! My dad told me somebody probably never turned it in, or they put it on the bairgain table and sold it. But yesterday when I went in to rent "Cinderella 2" I saw they had the "For Sale" table up! I looked all over the table, and under "Zenon, Girl Of The 21st Century" was this edition of "The Wizard Of Oz"!!! I forgot all about "Cinderella 2" and went to the checkout line. I was soooo happy. The clerks thought I was ba~zookas, and one old lady asked if I felt OK!! It was like 8.99 so I paid joyfully. When I got home I ran upstairs (forgetting to shut the door) and watched! I remembered all the songs, and sound effects. This is probably more suitable for little kids than the Judy Garland version. The songs are wonderful! And what's more is Aileen Quinn (Annie!!) stars as Dorothy!! I totaly reccomend buing this, whether used or WHAT, you'll ABSOLUTLY love it!! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Mediocre at Best
Maybe I anticipated the release of Bloodlust too much or maybe I've just watched too many really good animations recently, which detracted from this movie. Most likely, it just wasn't that good. I was a big fan of the first VHD, but for a new movie that has had this much attention and praise I was quite disappointed. I'm not going to just give it a good score simply because of high hopes and respect for its predecessor. D didn't deliver the sword battles that can be found in Samurai X. The artwork wasn't sinister or gothic compared with Blood - The Last Vampire. The characters weren't nearly as well developed as those found in Ninja Scroll. After the dust settles and the hype moves on to a new movie, Bloodlust will be far removed from the status of "an anime classic" reserved for the likes of Akira and Ghost in the Shell. This move could've been much better than what's playing in movie theaters right now, but that's just my opinion.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Original Classic's Sequel
Bloodlust is a great combination of action and beautiful animation. Those of you who have seen the first film and were not impressed should look no other place than Bloodlust. Unlike the first film this is much more of an action packed violent movie. The voice acting of D is again done very well. Unlike in the first film all of the side characters are done just perfect. The animation in this film is the best you will ever see. The sound and picture quality is also very good. But no anime can be perfect as shown in this film. The D's hand which was awsome in the first film comes of as annoying in this one. The Scene in which the shuttle lifts of may make you gag put it isn't too horrible. Even with these flaws it is still a far superior film than the original. Those of you who have not seen the original should probably see it after you see Bloodlust.

So this is my review of Bloodlust

Story 7/10- The story thats there is good there just isn't that much of it.

Sound 8/10- The voice acting is done well and the quality is good.

Visuals 10/10- Great.

Extras 7/10- Nothing special.

Rating 15 and Up- Its not as violent as people say it is.

Movie 10/10- With a great lead character, tons of acton, decent story, and great animation Bloodlust is a must see.

The End

5-0 out of 5 stars Um..Studio Madhouse..Kawajiri....Amano.....could there be...
..........a more incredible team to bring the latest Vampire Hunter D story to life?

Our wandering vampire hunting bad*** has been hired very reluctantly by a local aristocatic family to rescue a woman kidnapped by an ancient vampire named Meier Link. But D has some competition in this particular mission. The Markus Brothers, a team of vampire hunters with advanced technology hope to beat D to the prize. But after a brief encounter with Meier Link, D begins to suspect that the realtionship between Link and his abductee might not be what everyone assumes. Very dramatic with an outstanding orchestrated soundtrack, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is a worthy follow-up to the 80's classic. And believe me, fans of the original were the most difficult to please.

Some people have complained that this DVD doesn't contain the Japanese track. It should be noted that there is no Japanese track. Since the film takes place in Europe, the film was originally dubbed in English using some of the top American talent. Which is why the dubbing is far superior than most other Englich-dubbed anime.

"I know I'm a parasite, but I've always been a helpful parasite haven't I, D?"......HA

5-0 out of 5 stars better than it deserves to be
first off i want to stay that i HATE vampire hunter d. the original that is. i saw it once a few years back and thought it was the most worthless piece of trash i'd seen this side of dragonball z. i still do. so going into this i already had some preconcieved notions about how assy this would be.
the opening scenes just floored me. the animation is second only to akira, and its a close second. the characters, even the secondary characters like the marcus brothers, are spectacularly designed and have great personality. the plot, while on the surface may seem very standard fare, is done delicately and with enough pinache to absorb a casual viewer.
the action scenes are top-notch. the music is awesome.
the ONLY downer to the movie is the main character, who through most of the movie just sorta sits there. as boring and mannequin-ish as he is they did a pretty noble job of giving him some personality. if you dont believe me just watch the closing scene.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best 10 movies I have seen. Period.
I cannot say why. It is, after all, animated. There are few animated full-length films on my best-100 list. Nevertheless, Vampire Hunter D is on my of-all-movies, top-10 list.

I am not knowledgeable enough to rate the animation. Maybe the most important thing is it is not evident after the first few viewing minutes; the movie just becomes an engrossing story. Animation only comes to mind afterwards; when something is obviously better done through animation than special effects (somewhat as black and white goes away after a few minutes of Young Frankenstein or Casablanca and comes to mind only when you think back on the film and realize color would not have been an asset).

Bloodlust has fabulous characters and a story complex enough and good enough to draw you in completely. It is much better than the first film. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Pikkon vs. Goku
Just cause Goku is dead, doesn't mean he can't have any fun. And the other world tournment is just what Goku needs to train.

Content: A
Animation: A
Music: A (dub)
English Version: B+
Fight Scenes: A+

The first half of the disc is basically the semi finals. It was pretty fun to see all these oddball fighters, but the real treat is in the second half when Goku squares off against Pikkon.

I've never said this, but the music on this tape rocks. During Goku's fight with Pikkon, there is some great electric guitar that really fits the music. And the fight scenes! I can't even begin to explain how great the fight is. Goku firing his Kamehameha Wave and Pikkon constantly shooting his Super Thunder Attack is just insane! If you crave action than you need to see this. If you have to buy one tape to impress your friends with DBZ, this is it! Nothing short of amazing.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS MOVIE IS AWSOME YOU GOTTA GET IT
THIS IS RIGHT DOWN AWSOME. GOKU KICKS REAR AT GRAND KAIOS TERNAMENT ITS IS A GOTTA SEE MOVIE. GOHAN IS REALLY FUNNY. HE PROBABLY GOT TICKED OFF BECAUSE IN ENGLISH CLASS HE HAD TO READ: MR.SATAN SAVED THE WORLD FROM THE EVIL CELL. HE DIDNT BUT I WOULD IF I WERE HIM. CONSIDERING THAT HE WAS THE ONE THAT KILLED CELL! ITS A AWSOME MOVIE!

5-0 out of 5 stars PIKKON VS GOKU AND TEEN GOHAN? YEAH!!!
This is probably the beter of the two Grand Kai tournaments. First off, the fight between Goku and Pikkon is off the hook. An evenly matched fight in which you actually wonder if Goku can last. The fight is cool but the true glory in the video lies in the life of teen Gohan. I can't believe how much of a prep he's been turned into by Chichi. The baseball scne is the funniest thing since the driving lessons by Goku and Piccolo. I do like the episodes where the Z-fighters deal with modern life. A must have for Dbz fans of every kind!

4-0 out of 5 stars A Major Improvement Over The First Tape
I only consider this tape better then the first one because of the battle between Goku and Pikkon. It wasn't that special though. Goku turned into a Super Saiyan. OH wow that's new! However the battle was exciting I guess. All I can say is I hope the next to Great Saiya Man tapes are better then these two. I gave this tape 4 stars because the last episode was boring. I wouldn't get this unless you really want to see some new episodes.

5-0 out of 5 stars most powerful battle ever been put out yet by funimation
this has to be one of the best dbz videos. it's all about a martial arts tournament in the other world to win a private lesson from the grand kai. it has a great battle between goku and pikkon. and in the last episode you finally get to see gohan as a teenager. if you've been watchin the series on tv you' have to wait till fall to see these episodes so i suggest you buy it! ... Upon discovering that Team Rocket has stolen the trainer's hard-earned badges, Ash vows to get them back--even if it makes him late for the league competition. With the help of Pokémon Pidgeot and Marowak, Ash reclaims the badges from Team Rocket and proves himself a "winner at life." The big day has finally arrived in "All Fired Up"--the Pokémon League Competition is about to begin. Ash feels honored and courageous, especially when he is chosen by the president of the league competition committee (Charles Goodshow) to carry the undying flame, which is rumored to originate from the Pokémon Moltres. When Team Rocket steals the flame and lets it die, Ash is despondent. Luckily Goodshow has an extra flame and some encouraging words for Ash. Only time will tell if Ash can win the competition or if he is, as many fear, out of his league. (Ages 5 to 10) --Tami Horiuchi ... Read more

In "Bad To The Bone," before our hero's can get to the Poke'mon Leauge, they run into a Poke'mon trainer with a Marowak. As they get for a battle, if Ash loses, he has to give away his badges. When Pikachu wins against Marowak, the trainer tells them the story of how his badges were stolen. Team Rocket stole the badges. When James and Meowth find out that Jessie has the badges for herself to get the Poke'mon Leauge. Marowak leaves the trainer because he lost the badges. When Team Rocket plus our hero's, and the trainer, the trainer thinks of a battle with Jessie. When he uses Doudo, he loses. Then Marowak comes and wins the battle. Could this be the beginning of a kinder, gentler Pokémon? Ratherthan the usual battles of the pocket monsters between Ash and the sordid Team Rocket, a love story of sorts has descended upon Viridian City in this latest trio of adventures from the popular television series. In the first episode, it's "Lights, Camera, Quack-tion" when a famous movie director, Mister Spielbunk, shows up to shoot a movie about two love-struckPokémon. As Misty, Ash, and Brock dream of stardom, the question remains,"Which Pokémon will get the starring role?" Will it be brain-impairedPsyduck or the mighty Meowth? This cliffhanger continues in the second episode,"Go West, Young Meowth," when it's off to Hollywood for our favoritePokémon feline. We discover that years prior, Meowth lived, and loved, in Tinseltown; now we find out who stole his heart, and how he joined Team Rocket. Meowth's tale of love is bittersweet, "like a cheap chocolate bar," he cries. Things get even richer in the final segment, "To Master the Onixpected" when Ash learns the real secret of Pokémon after spendingtime with Bruno, an Elite Four Pokémon master. Rumor has it that tobecome the biggest, baddest Pokémon trainer, one must defeat the ominousOnix. Ash learns the truth of the Pokémon power, which has more to dowith kindness than bravado. Though there are still moments of derring-do, thismay be the gentlest of Pokémon flicks, and a good choice for theuninitiated viewer. Parents concerned about imitative behavior (like slapattacks) should remain cautious. (Ages 4 to 10). --Lynn Gibson ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth it For "Go West Young Meowth"
This one is one my favorite pokemon episodes, it's a funny satire look at hollywood and romance movies in general, Meowth always had bad luck from day one, a street Cat gets a second chance when he moves to tinsletown and joins a rouge group of street Meowths and one Persian, and then trys to win the heart of a lady Meowth - He fails - so years later when Team Rocket shows up to the movie premere (See "Lights Camera Quacktion" for the complete story) and he runs amok of the old gang and learns that his love of his life got dumped by the owner then joined the gang, he trys to bail her out but they gang up on him before they do Jessie and James save him (and what has to be the funnist intro ever) then the Meowth and the Persian do battle and Meowth trimuphs! - but the lady Meowth says he's still a freak) it's cold but funny, the first is a buildup into this one (kinda) Ash and Co. run into a movie crew filming a Romeo and Juilet style movie with pokemon instead, but the Abra left the set because of the Pushy/Demanding Wigglytuff so they have to find the next star, Pikachu, Raichu, Meowth, Vulpix, Hitmonlee, Koffing, Arbok and Psyduck try out for the role, Wigglytuff does away with most of them with a mean doubleslap but she finds love in the Psyduck, so they do the story with Psyduck but Team Rocket wants to get back at the movie director (A Spinoff name of Steven Spilberg) so thus begins a pointless fight where Psyduck saves the day with his powerful Confusion so thats that then its done, it runs into the next episode where they get invited to the premere, Brock seemed to like the director's movie "I saw What You Ate Last Tuesday" (hahahaha). The last is also worth it as well, Ash and Co. run into Bruno where they learn that the serect of training comes from within your mind body and soul, so they train with him, but they don't get his "lessons" but Brock says focused until he [gets] into next week, but then they found out that hes not up there to train, he's up there to catch and tame the biggest Onix to there is (Must be Lvl 100), Team Rocket trys out but with no avail they get trapped then Misty, Brock and Ash try to catch it Onix, Sqritle and Staryu try out but make it even more [upset], then the Onix eventully smacks Team Rocket into the next episode, but the Onix turns its anger on Ash but when it trys to kill him bruno saves him, so Bruno try to catch it - Himself - so when he confronts it, it trys to attack him but he keeps asking him "Why?" and all that, so he deeks it out and it hurts itself, Bruno talks it (and feels it) when he FINDS a Sandslash stuck in his back so explains its anger then Bruno catches this MONSTER of a pokemon with a pokeball (Ultraballs anyone?) then tells the moral of raising pokemon wishes him luck then its off to the pokemon leaugue (Or so he thinks).

Overall this one is a definte buy good episodes and good comedy parts as well, check it out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Meowth!
Wow! Meowth has a fasinating history! It's touching and genuine (for Poke`Mon). Everything seems to make more sense after watching "Go West, Young Meowth." In the words of Meowth, "My story is a bittersweet one, like a cheap chocolate bar." 5 stars, Meowth!

4-0 out of 5 stars Yet another Pokemon video...
If you've ever bought a Pokemon video, you know what's in store here, three episodes from the TV series. These episodes were pretty good, but weren't as action filled as other eps. In the first episode, "Lights, Camera, Quacktion", the gang runs into movie producer Sven Spigelburg who needs a Pokemon for a co-starring role along side his star, Wigglytuff, in the movie, "Pokemon In Love". However, the only Pokemon that Wigglytuff gets along with is Psyduck! Next comes "Go West, Young Meowth". This is one of the rare episodes that focus almost entirely on Team Rocket! They follow Ash and company to Hollywood to the premier of Pokemon In Love. Along the way, Meowth tells the story of how he learned to talk like a human! Finally, in "To Expect The Onix-Pected!", our heroes run into a rampaging Onix as well as Elite Member Bruno, who teaches Ash that the real secret to understanding Pokemon lies within. All and all, this is a good buy, especially if you're looking for Pokemon episodes that don't have a battle every five minutes! ;)

5-0 out of 5 stars these episodes are soooooooooooo cool!
This video is so cool i give it five stars!

4-0 out of 5 stars Onix, Movies, and Hollywood
The Stars are Born! A famous director is making a Pokemon movie, but who's going to be the star? Can Psyduck get top bill-ing? Then, it's off to Hollywood for the big premiere, but Meowth's been there before! See the long-awaited origin of Meowth, and find out why it can speak! Episode 67 - Frieza's Second Transformation
The united powers of Nail and Piccolo continue to struggle against the almighty Frieza. For a brief moment it seems the Namekian duo could be victorious, but Frieza soon sets everyone straight with a second transformation! With new speed and strength, Frieza gives Piccolo a ruthless beating. Can Gohan and Krillin come to Piccolo's aid? And what clever plan is Vegeta devising?

Episode 68 - Another Transformation?
Desperate to help Piccolo, the enraged Gohan unleashes an attack that nearly topples Frieza. Inspired by Gohan's powerful display, Vegeta reveals his daring plan: he will let Krillin beat him to near death, and force Dende to heal him, as a Saiyan's power increases after healing from a serious injury. Could this tactic finally transform Vegeta into a legendary Super Saiyan? Meanwhile, it seems Frieza has a plan of his own: his final transformation!

Episode 69 - Dende's Demise
Having reached his ultimate form, the evil Frieza begins a merciless assault. To start, he takes out the only one who cannot be healed by Dende -- Dende himself! As Frieza's onslaught continues, it becomes clear that Piccolo, Krillin, and Gohan don't stand a chance. Suprisingly, the fully healed Vegeta comes to the rescue, wanting to fight Frieza single-handedly! Are Vegeta's claims true? Is he really a Super Saiyan?

4-0 out of 5 stars Frieza's true power revealed.
This is a terrifically piece of anime as you find out how powerful Frieza really is. All of the characters fighting have grown enourmously since the Namek saga, you get a real feel for how tremendous the difference is in their fighting power where one can dominate when the other can't even land a hit, constantly switching the leadership. Now Piccolo's strength is surpassed by Vegeta, who is given the power he thinks is of a super saiyan by the reluctant Krillin and Dende, who hurt and heal him, releasing a Saiyan's true power. But even then he's not even able to touch Frieza, who undergoes his final transformation. This video is critical to any collection of the Frieza saga, it creates the feel for just how everyone stands powerwise for the final battle - Goku vs Frieza!

5-0 out of 5 stars Frieza wastes no time
After Piccolo arrives on Namek, he fuses with the near-dead Nail and joins the others. Things get worse as Frieza transforms into his most ugliest but very cool form yet (as seen on the cover). After taking a beating from Piccolo, Vegeta and Gohan, Frieza brings out the big guns by transforming to his final form. Because Vegeta is now more powerful thanks to Dende, Frieza fire his first shot at Dende and kills him. This tape serves up to the final battle against Frieza and also sends the message that play time is over. Frieza is at his limit. An overall good volume. I'd recommend seeing this uncut because there is a lot of violent moments on this tape you must see to beleive.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very emotional.
It was good, but Dende died! Frieza transformed to 3rd form then to 4th form then he killed Dende! That jerk!

5-0 out of 5 stars Piccolo is no match for Frieza
Excellent tape, especially when it is uncut. No surprise that Piccolo couldn't take on Frieza. He did stand a chance when Frieza was in his second form, but when Frieza transformed into his third form it was all down wind from there. You finally get to see what Frieza looks like when he transforms into his last form. Dende doesn't have much luck staying alive. Vegeta gets more power when he gets healed by Dende, but it is clear that Vegeta is still no match for Frieza. Dende's luck runs out in th last episode. Good tape so you won't be wasting your money.

The insatiable quest to catch 'em all winds its way down to the coast--Seafoam Island, in specific--on Hang Ten, Pikachu. In "The Evolution Solution," the first of this video's three episodes, Ash takes a breather from Pokémon League training to tackle a mystery that only the island-based Professor Westwood V, creator of the Pokédex, can solve: Why does the dopey Shelder latch onto the equally dopey Slowpoke's tail, creating the Slowbro? Episode 2, "The Pi-Kahuna," pits Ash plus Pikachu and Puka, a curve-shooting, tube-riding new friend's fellow pet Pikachu, against Humunga Dunga, a gigantic rogue wave that hits the island every 20 years, and "Make Room for Gloom," the third episode, tracks the troop of Ash, Brock, and Misty back in town, where they bolster the dragging spirits of a diffident greenhouse operator on the brink of bankruptcy and, in the process, help blast off the terrible Team Rocket again. The first two segments' altered scenery--the shore setting--effectively shuttles fans off on a good-time Pokémon getaway; it's the equivalent of vicariously vacationing in Hawaii with the Bradys for parents. As usual, the dialogue escapes flatness--each character is exceptionally well drawn, and most are believable--and never condescends. Also, all three stories chug along at a pace that sits right with the skimpy attention-spanned. This video is only the latest in a miles-long testament to why this craze-generating series continues to keep kids watching--every "to be continued" closer seems to guarantee that more quick-witted, adventure-crammed cartoons are on the way. --Tammy La Gorce ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable series but too expensive
Pokémon is the story about Ash Ketchum and his friends, Misty Williams and Brock Harrison. Ash's goal is to become a Pokémon Master. Misty's goal is to be "the best at everything" but, more specifically, a Water Pokémon Master. Brock's goal is to be the world's best Pokémon breeder. Pokémon are the animals that inhabit their world. They come in many different species (mouse, cat, dog, etc.) and types (electric, grass, water, fire, etc.). Each Pokémon trainer trains his or her Pokémon to battle other Pokémon and win badges to compete in Pokémon Leagues. Ash, Misty, and Brock must deal with Jessie, James, and Meowth of the evil Team Rocket, who want to steal Ash's first Pokémon, Pikachu, and usually other Pokémon as well. This Japanese animation series is an advertisement for the Pokémon video games, and the episodes' plots are usually simple, but this is actually an enjoyable series. Common themes are friendship, not giving up, parting ways with a dear friend, and other good morals. Parents and guardians that are concerned about the violence need not worry. Yes, the kids have their pets fight each other, but they also must learn to take care of and love their pets. Girls will find a strong female role model in Misty. Overall, this is a fun, simple, warm-hearted, rather repetitive series. However, despite how much I like the anime, the DVDs are not worth your money. Each episode is probably less than twenty minutes long, and there are only three episodes on each DVD. You would be paying the price of this DVD for around one hour of Pokémon. That's ridiculous. They don't even include the Japanese vocal tracks with English subtitles or the fun music videos from the TV airings. You can rent these same English-dubbed episodes on VHS. If you really want this series on DVD, my advice to you is to buy the movies and the special, "Mewtwo Returns", and wait for box sets of the series.

5-0 out of 5 stars These episodes are excellent!
All this three episodes are excellent, especially the Slowpoke one, it's the funniest and most entertaining.

5-0 out of 5 stars Slowpoke and Slowbro: The Evolution Between

From Holland comes Miffy, a calm, almost Zen-like bunny starring in his first video. Over 90 books of Dick Bruna's simple stories have delighted preschoolers for 40 years. The reasons for their popularity--especially inEurope--are pretty clear: tame figures (a dog named Snuffy, a bear named Boris, etc.) painted in bright colors have easily digestible tales--a day in the snow, practicing the flute, dreaming of the moon. Certainly the hyper child would rather do yard work than watch this 30-minute video, but the youngest of video watchers, ages 18 months to 3 years, should enjoy the tape's six tales and bright songs. 5-0 out of 5 stars Captivating video for infants to toddlers
Our son is not easily entertained and very few things hold his interest for long. But ever since he was about five months old this video is one of his favorite things. The bright colors, catchy little songs and simple stories are perfect for babies and very captivating. Now he is ten months old and whenever we put this video in for him he claps his hands and squeals in delight! We can't get him anything more than mildly interested in other cartoons or stories. But sing the Miffy song, show him a Miffy book, or this video and he's as happy as can be! I got this as a baby shower gift, I would have never bought a video for such a young child. But now that it's such a part of his entertainment I've bought two more videos and a bunch more of the books. I really recommend this video for any child two or younger!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mellow Miffy
Our 2-year-old loves this tape, which suprised me. I was afraid this would be too baby-ish for our, um, "spirited" girl, but she was captivated. The gentle, beautiful music is calming, and I think the animation is very cool in a minimalist sort of way. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great DVD
This is the greatest YuGiOh DVD so far. It's not just the episodes that are great but the DVD has 4 EPISODES!!!!!!! They are Joey VS. Bandit Keith(Part 1-2) and Yugi VS.Joey(1-2). The special features include Monster info and a Duelist bio for Bandit Keith. The episodes and special features get 5 stars. I took off one because when you put the DVD in you machine there are previews that you can't skip and they are all ANNOYING!!!!!! Especially that Teenage Mutant Ninja turtle junk. Otherwise, this is a good DVD and a must have for YuGiOh fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yugi vs Joey
When these episodes aired on Kids WB I was so excited. Everthing was on the line the money for Serenity's operation and the match that could free the souls of Grandpa, Mokuba and Seto Kaiba. The first part of Best of Friends Best of Duels inculed the song "No Matter What", wich is an aswsome song about Yugi and Joey's freindship(this song is avabile on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Music to Duel By CD). The second part inculeds Maximillon Pegasus's flash back about his wife, Cecelia, the woman in the paints seen in his castle. One thing I love about these episodes are that Yugi and Joey show some emotion(they acutual cry). Of course evey episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! is my favorite, but these episode are special. It's really hard when you have duel your best friend when the stakes are so high. The TV show is way past this, but if you have not seen it you should buy it. Also if you like Pegasus's flash back you should buy the viedo that has the episode "Aftermath" because it inculdes a longer flash back about Cecelia(Aftermath is my very favorite episode). Great Movie I loved the Whole Thing. Buy especially if you are a fan. My mom loved it and she had never heard of it. She even kept her card she got with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's time to D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-Duel
I saw the movie when it was at movie theatres, and it rocked out loud. Don't believe my mom when she said "I could bearly keep my eyes open." When I saw it I could bearly even blink, wait I did not even blink. The movie was the best move ever tied with the second Cardcaptor Sakura movie. It rocks like all other anime. I've read the manga for Yu-Gi-Oh! The guy at the bookstore said it was ment for boys but did I listen, you got it no. I am a girl but the anime/manga is ment for boys. Yes the manga is very graphic but I don't care. I mean I think blood and all that stuff is cool. I love it so don't listen to the untrue reviews. So if you are the anime type this movie is right for you<br />

1-0 out of 5 stars HOMER: It's time to D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D'OH!!
What's it with the Yu-Gi-Oh! craze anyways? All it's about is just propaganda and commercial that's telling the kids to buy the products such as trading cards, games, etc. It's exactly how Poke'mon was a couple years ago when it was new and popular to the public. Unfortunately it all got old later and nobody really seems to care for it anymore, yet they STILL try and keep it alive with more pointless episodes and games, therefore meaning that it's always the same! That's exactly what I'm trying to say about this T.V. show/anime/manga that it's only a scam in order to draw the kids into dishing out more and more of their hard earned allowance ($$$) and it's truly a shame. As I said before, it's pretty much a recap of what Poke'mon was like. Sure the trading card game looks interesting, but I don't think it's fair for Poke'mon creators to keep making more and more and MORE Poke'mon cards to collect and cause people to run out of money or for Yu-Gi-Oh! people to make MORE of their cards to collect! Can't anyone see that it's all just a sell-out in order to buy the products? Sure popular cartoons such as "The Simpsons" have videogames, T-shirts and such, but it's NOT trying to send people a message that they have to go out and BUY them! I suggest you people think about this and look into it NOW! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A decent Dragonball Z movie
For those of you who don't know, alongside the standard Dragonball Z series, 13 movies, 2 specials, and 1 OVA/OAV were released. Most of these were strictly for entertainment, as there is no way most of them could possibly have taken place. Also, none of them are very long (they are about the same length as 2-3 standard episodes.) Read on for my review of The Tree Of Might, the third Dragonball Z movie.

SETTING: This movie occurs shortly after the battle with Nappa and Vegeta, but before the crew goes to Namek.

STORY: It's a peaceful time on Earth. Some members of the Z crew have taken a camping trip. Yamcha has purchased a new air cruiser. Everything's going well until a probe crashes in the forest and sets everything ablaze. Using the Dragon Balls, the forest is restored, but this is only the beginning of the trouble. The senders of the probe arrive on Earth, and plant a seed which creates a tree that drains the life force out of the planet. Before long, peace on earth is shattered, and the Z Fighters become engaged in their planet's ultimate decisive battle.

DID IT HAPPPEN?: This film could never have occured. After the Saiyan Saga but before the Namek Saga is the only time it could have happened, but Piccolo is alive, so that completely voids the film. Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu should also be dead. Likewise, Taurus (Turless in the dubbed version) is a Saiyan, and there aren't supposed to be any surviving full-blooded Saiyans other than Goku and Vegeta. Why he looks so similar to Goku is also never explained (I've read numerous explanations on various websites.) Another problem is that Gohan can't control himself in the transformed state, but he managed partial control of it in the fight with Vegeta. And of course, there was not an intreval of this long between the two sagas.

WORTHWHILE?: Of the first three Dragonball Z movies, this one is by far the weakest. The animation quality isn't up to that of the second film (released earlier originally), and the plot is just plain boring (it's a typical "villain wants to destroy the planet and be the strongest man in the universe" thing.) This one's for DIE-HARD DRAGONBALL Z FANS ONLY.

MISC.: Unlike the newer DVDs, this one actually has quite a few extras. However, the dubbed version has the OLD voice crew, which I consider inferior to the new one. Also, some scenes are mistranslated (Japanese is a VERY DIFFICULT language to translate, so some of this is forgivable.)

OVERALL: For die-hard fans of the series only.

2-0 out of 5 stars DISSAPOINTING STUFF
I was very dissapointed in this DBZ movie. All the things i love about the tv series were missing.I love the long drawn out grueling battles in the series but here they are all over in seconds. The dialogue was pretty poor and the story line very thin, explaining nothing about Turless or his origins.I also hated Gokus voice in this movie. And why oh Why is this movie so short? If even an extra half an hour on were added onto it to beef out the story line and add some much needed action and fight scenes it could have been so much better.

4-0 out of 5 stars kicks ass
Goku and friends battle it out against the evil Turlis whose the 2nd brother of Goku(his first is Raditz in the series). Turlis grows the tree of might that will detroy the world, Turlis eats the fruit and he is buffer and stronger then ever. great action with Goku, Tien, Piccolo, Gohan, Yamch, Chotzu and Krillin trying to save earth from the evil clutches of Turlis and theres a cool fight against Monkey Gohan and Goku. hold on

3-0 out of 5 stars Hyped
The movie followed along the Dragonball Z theme. Evil does wants to destroy earth. Goku and friends fights ever one falls even Goku but he doesn't stay down. Goku saves the day. The movie is good don't get me wrong I just wished there was more fighting.

4-0 out of 5 stars A cool DBZ flick
This is an example of a cool movie that really doesn't fit anywhere in the universe. The story revolves around an evil Sayin named Turles who along with his group of pirates plants the Tree of Might on earth. The tree sole purpose is to drain the planet of it's energy into fruit which can power up a character to double his strength at that time. Goku, KRillin, Yamcha, Tien, and CHaotzu all arrive to try and destroy the tree. They are then ambushed and the battle begins. Later Gohan and Piccolo show up and the battle heats up even more.

Eventually it comes down to GOku and TUrles and in the end the spirit bomb is used to finish him off.

THis movie doesn't really fit into the univeres for the following reasons.
1:The story takes place between Sayin and Namek.
2:Goku was hospitalized at this time, Krillin and Gohan were in space, and Tien, Yamcha, CHiatzu, and Piccolo were dead.

SO as you can see this movie takes place in a subuniverse of the series. It doesn't fit into any particular story line but is still cool non the less. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Getting better
As we remember from the last DVD, Ash and Misty are venturing through Viridian Forest.

Following the game, they should reach Pewter Town now, right.
Nah, not yet. Looks like we have to slow down a bit, or the show'll be over in 30 episodes.

So, they're still in Viridian Forest. Ash meets a pokemon trainer named Samurai (uh..), who want a fight after losing to Gary earlier. The fight turns out to be a bore-fest where Ash's and Samurai's Metapods harden a few dozen times. It ends with a bucnh of Beedrills kidnapping Metapod. Woo, finally rid of him. Now to get rid of Pikachu, and catch some good pokemon. Nah, Ash embarks on a rescue mission, but is attack by J&J who want Pikachu. They end up getting attacked by more Beedrills, while Metapod defend Ash. The experience evolves him into Butterfree, a pokemon even worse than Pikachu. Blah.
Well, Ash and Misty continue their journey, and reach Pewter City, where Ash decides to enter the Pokemon League. To enter, he has to travel between cities and towns, challenging the local pokemon master in a battle and win. This'll give him a badge to brag about. Get 8 badges, and you can enter the league. Ash challenges the local master, Brock, but is easily beaten. An old man named Flint, who turns out to be Brocks father, helps Ash super-charge Pikachu making him win. Almost. Ash gets the chanse to cheat, but turns it down. Brock hands him the badge anyway, and joins him on the journey. On the way to the next town, Cerulean, Ash and co journey through Mount Moon, where they meet a scientist named Seymour, and stop Jessie and James from stealing the mysterious Moon Stone from the Clefairies, a very rare species of pokemon. The stone is supposed to evolve pokemon into otherwise unattainable forms, making it very useful for Team Rocket. Ash and co don't succeed, however, and J&J get away with the stone. The Clefairies stop them with a bit help from Brock's Onix, use the Moon Stone to evlve, and beat up the Rocket agents. Turns out the stone was a bit more powerful than they thought.

So, what do we have here? 3 very good episodes, each deling with a different pokemon species. The first one cover the Weedle/Kakuna/Beedrill family, then we have Brock's pokemon, Geodude and Onix. And finally, Clefairy and Clefable.
Can't really say much else, cept that these are among the best episodes at this point in the series, and I recommend this DVD to all fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars The plot begins to unravel
As the second DVD in the Pokemon TV series, this is where the story begins to start. Ash first learns about how trainers need to collect badges in order to enter the Pokemon League. The only way to gain these object are to win Pokemon battles against Gym Leaders. It has three, 20-minute episodes:

Challenge of the Samurai - Ash, Misty and Pikachu make it out of Viridian Forest, when Ash is challenged to a Pokemon match by a fellow trainer. But when a swarm of Beedrill interrupts the match, Ash's Metapod is carried away. Will Ash be able to save Metapod?

Showdown in Pewter City - Ash challenges Brock, the Pewter City Gym leader, hoping to win his first badge. When Pikachu's powers alone can't do it, can a mysterious stranger help Pikachu be strong enough to defeat Brock's Pokemon?

Clefairy and the Moon Stone - On their way to Cerulean City, Ash, Misty and Brock head towards Mt. Moon for a shortcut. When the group arrives at the Mountain, they rescue a Pokemon researcher, Seymour. The researcher tells them of the Moon Stone, a legendary object that everyone seems to want. What could this Moon Stone be?

Great video and audio quality, and also has the entire Pokerap at the end. Followed by "The Sisters of Cerulean City".

3-0 out of 5 stars Cool series, disappointing anime...
INTRODUCTION:
In the early-mid nineties in Japan, the Pokemon video game series was created. This series became an instant success overnight, and it's no surprise that Nintendo wanted to try their luck with the series in America. In late 1998, Nintendo ported the video games to America, as well as the animated series based on it (in America, the animated series actually arrived BEFORE the games, believe it or not!) Read on for my review of this, a DVD containing the first three episodes of the Pokemon series.

BASIC PLOT:
The basic plot of the Pokemon animated series is simple. Ash, a new Pokemon trainer, wants to become the best Pokemon collector/battler in the world. The series follows him as he finds new Pokemon, new allies, and enemies alike. On his journey he is joined by Misty, who tags along since Ash destroyed her bike, and Brock, who wants to be a Pokemon breeder. As the three travel, they frequently battle members of Team Rocket - an organization that wants to capture rare and valuable Pokemon. Most episodes of the series follow the same basic plot.

SERIES OPINIONS:
Although an amazing series of Game Boy RPGs inspired this game, the series is subpar. Every episode is pretty much the same. The crew is traveling, Team Rocket appears and says their same lines in every episode, the good guys and bad guys battle, and the good guys always cause an explosion that sends Team Rocket flying away. Also, the characters are paper thin. Most of them appear in one episode and never again. Even the main characters are pretty one-dimensional. Also, the dub gives the series too much of an "Americanized" feel. To make things worse, in America, the TV series featured Pokemon that weren't yet in any American Pokemon game, which led to hundreds of in-game rumors. The TV series also makes up several locations that aren't in the games - another big mistake. Take my advice - steer clear of this series - just play the Game Boy games instead.

DVD:
THE DVD HAS NO JAPANESE LANGUAGE TRACK!? When you do anime DVDs, it is an unwritten rule that you include both a sub and a dub, and this DVD violates that unwritten rule. Likewise, the extras are severely lacking - the Pokerap is just plain stupid. And let's not forget that DVDs cost more than VHS tapes. Take my advice - just tape these episodes off your local channel that shows the series if you want to see them that bad.

OVERALL:
Overall this was a good idea for an animated series, but it just falls flat when compared to all the other animes out there. If you want good animes that have characters that aren't paper thin, check out Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, or Gundam Wing. If you want Pokemon, just stick with the games.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not a very good video
This video is cute, but not what I would call a "good video" A good video has alot of action and stuff, but this does not have alot of action. It is boring.

If you really want this series on DVD, my advice to you is to buy the movies and the special, "Mewtwo Returns", and wait for box sets of the series. ... Read more
