If you love kickboxing and would like something different, this is the video for you. 5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!!! Just what we were waiting for!!!!
Words lack the full power to describe the effect of and the feelings portrayed in this video!! One more time, Susan and her team, have produced a technically flawless video that reaches all levels. The instruction technique, which, needless to say, is excellent, coupled to the magnificent scenery of this beautiful Island have created a third video that completes a great series. There have to be more videos in the works, right guys? We are left waiting for more. Keep up the good work.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great gruge matches but very few title matches
For starters, choosing to start any ppv with Chris Benoit is excellent thinking, however, when the opponent is a jpurneyman with no belt, no gimmic, and no future with WCW, then even Benoit couldn't carry this stinker. I know Kevin Sullivan was particularly fickle with Benoit, but why screw your company by having him face Mike Enos, who is better known for his lame WWF tag career as a member of the Beverly Brothers? The crowd did react well to the match, and particularly well to second match, featuring Norman Smiley and Chavo Jr. The match was good and their styles meshed well, given Chavo's lame "PePe" gimmick. The battle of undefeated WCW super heavyweights was next, featuring Bam Bam Bigelow and Wrath. This was a good King Kong versus Godzilla style matchup. This match was supposed to build up Bigelow's character for a feud with Goldberg, but in typical WCW fashion this storyline got lost in the shuffle. With the rival NWO factions joining together, Konan was given his pink card. This set up a gruge match involving Lex Luger and Konan. This match started well, with both stars getting their turns on the mic to get heat with the crowd. Once the talking stopped, the brawling began, with a newly silicon enhanced Ms.Elizabeth aiding in the outcome. Excellent brawl, with lots of pops. The next bout featured a soon to be WWF bound Y2J versus Saturn in a dress stipulations match. Jericho was supposed to lose this one, but flake that he is, Saturn chose to lose, figuring it would get him over with the fans. The match itself was excellent, with many near falls and Jericho's silly antics. Next up was the cruiserweight four way title dance. This was the only title match and it featured LWO members Psichosis and Juvi, in addition to Rey Mysterio, and the champ Billy Kidman. This is the best match on the tape. I wish WCW had the forsight to have made this a tlc style gimmick match. The next match consisted of NWO sympathizers Curt Hennig and Barry Windahm, vs. the father and son team of Ric and David Flair. The three vets were great, but David Flair looked lost. This match had the crowd jacked. The roof really blew, when both NWO factions arrived and made a helpless Ric Flair watch as they beat his son senseless. Excellent face/heel work by Flair and Hogan. The main event was the Scot Hall and Goldberg taser gun/ladder match. Prior to the show, Goldberg was assaulted and suffered a knee injury. Goldberg played up the injury angle to perfection. This match was very physical, with both wrestlers taking dangerous bumps. Goldberg was busted open in this match. Run ins took place with Bam Bam and Disqo. All combatents felt the wrath of the taser. This was definately match of the year material. It was a good ppv, but not for the price asked. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars More color home movies of baseball players (1925-1961)
The initial joy of seeing baseball players like Lou Gehrig and retired greats like Honus Wagner, Ty Cobb and Cy Young in living color is worn off when you get to volume 2 of "When It Was a Game," but this is still a captivating look into the past. The time frame for these collected home movies from players and fans on 8mm and 16mm film is a bit broader this time around, going back to 1925 and forward to 1961, which means the oldest shots are actually in black & white and seem rather out of place, because once again the thrill here is seeing players and ballparks in glorious color. There is Hank Aaron wearing the great looking uniform of the Boston Braves, old Crosley Field in its green splendor, and Babe Ruth making his final appearance in a Yankee uniform at the Stadium. There is a bit more effort this time to have the disembodied voices talking about subjects that sort of match up to the images on the screen, such as Joe Garagiola talking about graffiti on an outfield billboard, Enos Slaughter explaining why he always ran on and off the field, and the story of catcher Moe Berg being a government spy while barnstorming with Connie Mack in Japan. There is a nice section on what lfie was like the Pacific Coast League when major league baseball did not exist west of St. Louis.

But whether you actually listen to what is being said or tune it out will not affect your enjoyment of these nostalgic images. At the end of these hour-long HBO documentaries, when they simply show shots of various ballplayers and superimpose their names, that is the essence of what makes "When It Was a Game" so special. There is Jackie Robinson in color, Hank Greenberg in color, Mel Ott in color, and so on and so forth. Even when it is someone we are used to see in color, such as Yogi Berra or Willie Mays, we are still talking a young Yogi and a young "Say Hey" Kid. A lot of the action is off field-baseball players in Spring Training wearing bathing suits and cleats, Yogi and some other Yankees sticking out their tongues for the camera, the Chicago Cubs in a parade before the start of a World Series game-but that does not detract from our enjoyment of these simple film clips spliced together.

5-0 out of 5 stars moving documentary
All 3 WIWAG are excellent. This is more than just a well put together documentary. Its very moving because of the footage, narration and music. You don't feel like you are watching a DVD about baseball. It feels like you are watching a snapshot of Americana from the 50's and 60's. After watching this, you wish that things today were as they were back in those days. Not just baseball or sports, but life in general as it was protrayed in the DVDs.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best baseball movie of all time.
This is no Hollywood baseball movie. This is the real deal. Exquisite colors and poetic comments from those who played baseball the way it should be played- as a game. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Just Awful!
I totally agree with everyone that reviewed it. It desperatly needed better matches. The Main Event was Goldberg vs. Kevin Nash. This match was alright but it could of been better. And it had DDP vs. The Giant which was a good match. The Ric Flair vs. Eric Bischoff match was kind of stupid. The Konnan vs. Chris Jericho match was alright. The best match on it was the Triangle match with Kidman vs. Juventud Guerrera vs. Rey Misterio Jr, That was the best match on it. But the rest Sucked! Take my advice, I ordered it on PPV and I rented it. This tape is a total rip off! Its definetly not worth 50 dollars. This Starrcade really puts the Starrcade legacy to shame. WCW had all this hype for the main event for nothing and the undercade was horrible! You should take that 50 dollars and buy a couple good WCW Video's from the early 90's.

1-0 out of 5 stars $h!t
who ever booked these matches can screw himself it sucked i orderd it on ppv and wasted 30 f'n dollars

1-0 out of 5 stars TRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The problam with WCW is that they hype there pay-per-views up and they almost never delever. This Is with out a doubt the worst starrcade. The whole card was a joke. They scrated Scott Hall vs Bam Bam Bigelow with now notice. Goldberg vs Nash Sucked. If you buy this video don't tell me I diden't warn you! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Me encantó desde P.R.
Este video es muy completo. Se lo recomiendo a las poblaciones hispanas. Excelente vista, "cueing", fácil de seguir, muy bien hecho desde la música hasta las rutinas. Trae inf. sobre nutricion, bien valiosa y sencilla.

5-0 out of 5 stars An absolutely great exercise video.
I enjoyed this exercise video very much. Its ability to trasmit this amount of knowledge in such an understandable manner is remarkable. It was fun and educational.

5-0 out of 5 stars It is a fabulous exercise video!
This is an absolutely marvelous exercise video. The energy of the participants is felt throughtout the session. Their knowledge is easily and effectively transmitted. Is the doctor a real doctor? She looks like a professional actor. She adds fun and profesionalism to the video. Can we have more of these available soon?

5-0 out of 5 stars A must for those who have been away from exercise for a long
Like so many of us out there I've allowed my busy schedule to interfere with my need to take care of my physical conditioning and health. The decision to get out there and get moving is always plagued by a million reasons why there just isn't enough time. A dear friend gave me the fitness/nutrition video: "En forma tropical". Man oh man what a fun way to get beyond all the excuses and rationalizations and to just have FUN while regaining a healthy state. From time to time I've bought or been given other aerobics and exercise videos but I quickly became discouraged because you had to be a professional dancer to get the moves down....not "En Forma". The music is great, the moves are performable and the instructions clear and to the point. But never mind me...go on and get it...you won't regret it!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun, energetic, great music... you'll love it!
This is a Spanish exercise video that anybody can do no matter what your primary language is. It's a fun, energizing workout, easy to follow, and very complete. It includes aerobics, calisthenics, abdominal exercises, stretching, even nutrition. The music and the instructors keep you motivated through the entire routine, no to mention the beautiful scenery. The routine is divided in different segments to allow participants work at their own fitness level. It's great! Everybody should try this exercise video, once you do it once you can't stop! ... This video was sweet seeing the hulkster as ive come to know him not that piece of monkey sh@t Hollywood "fagat" hogan but the ultimate superhero the hulkster. it got 5 stars just because it was first big title match as the hulkster in just under three years he kicked out of the jackknife by "oldsexy" and hit the big boot leg drop uno doce trece the hulkster is the man. one problem though this video costs sixty bucks! you would have to be F@cking nuts to by so just rent it alright. trust me

5-0 out of 5 stars Goldberg and Hulkamania runs wilder then ever
This show had great matches involving WCW's youngest tallent and best established. My favorite match was Hulk Hogan VS Kevin Nash in a retirement match that has everyone's nerves on end. WCW really outdid themselves with this exciting wrestling event.

1-0 out of 5 stars the biggest star in this movie was Jay Lenos chin
I thought this movie had one good match and that was when they had to take a break when the wrestlers left. I thought that Jay Leno and DDP vs. Hogan and Eric Bishoff was probably the worst match they ever put on a wcw pay per view. I wish that DDP would have tried to diamond cut Jay Leno even though he was on his team, but I guess he couldnt do that because he probably couldnt get his arms around the head of a guy that has such a big chin and is so stupid he couldnt wrestle even if the wrestlers he was facing were just laying down. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Nice presentation, but with one glaring omission
Actually, just now finished watching WIWAG 3 on HBO's On-Demand service. Loved the stuff about Bat Day (I remember going to one at Connie Mack Stadium in '68 or '69.)

But if you're going to talk about the National League being a haven for up and coming African-American and Hispanic players during the 1960s, why are you going to omit Richie Allen of the Philadelphia Phillies? OK, yeah, the Phillies were a bad team for most of their history. Still, WIWAG 3 at least used footage of Ernie Banks who played for those crappy Cubs teams.

Allen was the first -- and shamefully, possibly -- the last, black superstar slugger the Phillies ever had. He was a big part of the Phillies' contention for the NL pennant in '64, his rookie year, before the infamous collapse.

I'm a 40-something African American baseball fan who has thrown his loyalty behind the Phillies, because I considered them my home team and partly because I was too young to be aware of the Phillies' sorry racial history.

That Allen wasn't even seen or mentioned in WIWAG 3 was an incredibly glaring omission. I cannot believe there was no footage anywhere of the guy the producers could have used.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful color home movies of baseball in the 1960s
I was wondering if the magic of seeing color home movies of major league baseball players was going to wear off in "When it Was a Game 3" since this installment of the HBO special focuses primarily on the 1960s. After all, that was the decade when you could actually watch baseball games in color on the Game of the Week and during the World Series. But if this documentary proves anything it is that movie color is brighter and bolder than the washed out colors of television in those days. You watch the film of Mickey Mantle and think this is how you want to remember the man.

The third volume in also the most organized in the series. There are rather distinct "chapters" on the great pitchers of the decade (Gibson, Marichal, Koufax), the glory days and rapid decline of the New York Yankees, the lowly birth and sudden success of the New York Mets, and the case for Willie Mays being the greatest player of the decade. There even is a bit of sports journalism involved in suggesting that the decline of the Yankees had to do with the refusal of the team management to sign black ball players. This time you will also find that more often than not whoever's voice you hear, whether it is Al Kaline or Joe Pepitone, actually appears on the screen. Billy Crystal is back to talk about baseball again as is sportscaster Bob Costas, and there are more baseball poems, including, of course, Grantland Rice's "Game Called," which brings the show to a close.

As always, the ultimate appeal of the "When it Was a Game" series is that you get to see the baseball players you grew up admiring, who lived before your time and were only available as black & white images in color. Rich, gorgeous color that makes the red on the bill of Hank Aaron's cap, the blue on Don Drysdale' hat, the organge of the name "Oriole" on Brooks Robinson's jersey, and the green of the Yankee Stadium grass look as good as you have ever seen them. Again, I am reminded of the classic Bowman 1953 baseball cards that had gorgeous color photographs.

5-0 out of 5 stars So Beautiful You Might Cry
Will purchase soon...saw on HBO. This is as close to getting in a time machine as there is. American League? Lot's of Yankee footage, but not much more. Then again, in the fifties and early sixties the Yankees WERE the American League. If you fantasize about sitting behind third at the Polo Grounds, seeing what Berra and Mantle looked like just being themselves, or want really good footage of Clemente and Mays, this is for you, kids.

3-0 out of 5 stars WHERE'S THE AMERICAN LEAGUE???
This should be titled "When it was a game in the National League". Far too much footage of the senior circuit, albeit excellent footage. Otherwise very well done like the previous 2 films, the part about bat day and baseball cards will evoke smiles from the 30-50 year old range of fans. Bob Costas and Billy Crystal offer their usual fine perspectives, much like in Ken Burn's "Baseball". Great shots of the old stadiums, especially Yankee Stadium and Candlestick Park. Reasonably priced DVD, worthy for your collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Like a precious old family photo album
This series, done by HBO Sports, brings together color and b&w home movies of baseball games from different decades. This one focuses on the 1960's ,as turbulent a decade on the diamond as off. The quality of the picture is crisp adding to the inate pleasure of watching Mickey Mantle in old yankee Stadium, A young Willie mays dancing his magic in centerfield, Frank Howard in a Washington Senator uniform,Bob Gibson, The red sox of '67[curiosly Frank Robinson's better season in 1966 is ignored],the Miracle Mets of '69 all are covered. Harsher is the treatment of the change in the game itself,[the dependance on television reevnue, the altering of the game of the week],as america tilted definitively away from baseball and toward football.Still, the expierence of watching the heroes of youth play once more is pleasurable, and certainly, this succeeds. I do not know why baseball is so evocative with memories for so many, yet this series is proof of it. Very, Very well done. ... Read more
