2-0 out of 5 stars "Welcome to my Nightmare"
Freddy Vs. Jason started out on a fairly ok note. It brought back that old 80s horror movie feeling. The setup of Jason and Freddy fighting each other is very clever and an imaginitive idea. The acting is well-delivered from some of the actors, but there are lots of flaws in this movie: 1. It is not horror! It is simply not suspenseful, only includes a few genuinely scary moments, and focuses WAY too much on blood and gore instead of thrills and chills. 2. It is a self-parody, instead of a truly original piece of work. The movie is obviously supposed to spoof Freddy and Jason's routes, but couldn't they have thought of more original ways to do it? 3. Typical characters, with not a whole lot of psychological depth. When I watch a movie, any kind of movie, I like to be intrigued with the characters because of their psychological depth and their problems in life, their ups and downs. But, from what I recall, these characters are basically derived from the old 80s slasher movies. 4. The reslotion could've been a little bit more shocking and mysterious. 5. Unbelievable. A movie is only scary when it's believable, and this is just way too over-the top.
All in all, this movie is somewhat entertaining, and it is what I expected: A silly self-parody action film, instead of what it should be: A true horror classic. If you want horror, I suggest you see the original "Nightmare on Elm Street" (still ubelievable, and too gory, but much scarier) or "Friday the Thirteenth" (Which is somewhat scary), or even "Scream" (A clever self-parody that mixes comedy and genuinely scary moments) or "The Silence of the Lambs" (Terrifying and haunting). The list of smart horror movies goes on, and this movie, in my own personal opinion, is not an addition to that list. The fact that this ridiculous movie could be made and brought to screen and actually praised by so many should be saddening to me, since I am a young movie-maker. But, it's not. It's inspiring. If THIS can be praised, then the movie I'm making should be praised! If THIS could be made, there are a lot of things that could be made. Still, don't get your hopes up, filmakers out there. It's not as easy as it may seem.

4-0 out of 5 stars CLASH OF THE TERROR TITANS!!!
It was inevitable. Two of the biggest horror icons of our time finally meet in a terrifying clash that will satisfy fans of both title characters. In this modern Frankenstein meets the Wolf Man, Freddy is trapped in hell, his once fearsome name all but forgotten completely. He ressurrects Jason to kill a few kids on Elm Street so people will start to fear that Freddy is back: thus giving Freddy the power to return. However, Jason goes wild, and isn't leaving Freddy his share of victims. So, Freddy drags Jason to the dream world for a duel to the "death". The second battle takes place at Crysal Lake, giving each monster a home-court advantage. Both are evenly matched; the real advantage depends on where they fight.
This was a fun movie to watch. The fights are great, and there are plenty of scares. Enjoy, and welcome to MY NIGHTMARE!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool as heck!!!
I TOTALLY love this movie. I think it just rocks. If you like scary action packed movies, you will just love this one. so
please, please, please, buy it...

5-0 out of 5 stars I love that film.
Yes, I am aware of it's imperfections, but still I love that film. It's miles above the majority of kiddie productions.

My son has a collection of action figures from movies and video games and the Roos are the best. Their design is so strikingly unexpected!

The action sequences are shot very artfully - all these leaves floating in the streams of Power, the resolved fighting of these who HAVE to fight, the total absence of JackyChanesque "funny" grimaces.

My son and nephew were obsessed by the movie for days, confronting each other with these - You came uninvited! - - Come on and pla-ay!!!- phrases, having their try at the art of flying kicks.

The film is kind, the baddies are redempted at the end but all that with the minimal level of saccharine preaching.

I want to thank the Law brothers and Ronny Yu, stuntmen and designers, who made the miracle happen. I've bought the VHS and later the DVD, recommended the film to all my friends who have sons - I want to let the people behind that film know that their effort is very much appreciated.

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent movie
I read all the comments about this movie, and I started to watch this movie with low expectations, everyone was saying that this movie sucks. But then at half the movie, I realized that the suckers were the ones writting the reviews. Let me tell you that at the end of the movie I wished that it had not one but several sequels with the same quality in general. The producers really created something imaginative, the director just rocks with this movie, the acting is real good. This movie is way up there, and even better in some aspects, with Matrix and Blade, the story even though it is not truly original in itself, it delivers the goods. The action and martial arts, and the conveyance of the feelings and emotions, is for all ages not just for kids. Do not believe the fools that say this movie is awful. Please watch this movie if you want to see something spectacular and emotive. This movie deserves a double ten out of nine!!.

I first watch in the theater, with my first child(a girl)and husband, in 1997, rented it when it came out, and just recently found it in the library and check it out. Brace yourself: this is a clever, consistently entertaining, and even inspired continuation of the mean-spirited slasher series. For those not in the know, Chucky is a mop-top kid's doll come to life with the soul of a serial killer and the voice of Brad Dourif (doing his best Jack Nicholson). Revived by his former paramour Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly, looking every inch a life-size Barbie in stiletto heels and skintight black leather), Chucky proceeds to turn his human sweetie into a pint-sized Talking Tina doll with attitude, and together they hit the road for a magic amulet and young new bodies to inhabit. They hitch a ride with sweet young runaways Katherine Heigl and Nick Stabile and leave a trail of corpses bloodied, burned, and cut to ribbons. The kids are cute, but the real heat is generated by the latex lovers who use murder as foreplay and consummate their renewed romance in a night of passionate sex ("Shouldn't you wear a rubber?" "I'm all rubber!"). Hong Kong director Ronny Yu (The Bride with White Hair) directs with a light touch and against all odds transforms walking dolls Chucky and Tiffany into funny, energetic, full-blooded characters: l'amour fou has never been more crazy. John Ritter costars as Heigl's overprotective uncle (another obstacle on the road to dolly freedom) and Alexis Arquette is hilarious as a lanky goth nerd. The wild conclusion leaves room for another high-concept sequel. The DVD features two commentary tracks, a behind-the-scenes documentary, and "Jennifer Tilly's Diary." --Sean Axmaker ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of the "Chucky movies"
"Bride of Chucky" is in my opinion, the best of all the Chucky movies. Although it is not pure horror and suspense, Bride of Chucky still beats out the previous 3 Child's Play movies. The atmosphere is creepy and gothic, and there are a couple of gory death scenes. But the main appeal of this movie is its humor. I loved how Chucky and Tiffany played off each other.

I also thought that the music was perfect for this movie. Instead of using a creepy musical score, they used songs from Rob Zombie and other metal groups.

The features on the dvd were very good. The audio commentary with Jennifer Tilly (Tiffany), Brad Dourif (Chucky), and Don Mancini (the movie's writer) were both informative and funny.

I won't give the ending away, but let's just say that it was unexpected. It was gross and sick...but it was also a perfect ending that will lead to the next Chucky movie.

3-0 out of 5 stars Jennifer Tilly bumps otherwise average movie up a big notch!
Although I am a horror fan I have never been a fan of the slasher genre and had never planned to see this movie, but I just happened to watch it by accident one night and was very pleasantly suprised.

What places this movie a cut above the usual moronic slasher flick is an OUTSTANDING performance by Jennifer Tilly as Chucky's "bride" Tiffany. I had never seen her in a starring role before, and the whole time she was on the screen I kept asking "Who IS this chick? She's great!!" and couldn't wait to look up her name in the closing credits. -- Definitely not the usual quality of acting you'd expect in this type of B-movie.

After she meets her demise and is transformed into a doll, the film becomes more predictable and gradually descends more to the level of your standard Chucky flick. The late great John Ritter's talents seem wasted here in a pretty cardboard role, and unfortunately the two teen leads are never more than the typical generic "kids in distress".

But director Ronny Yu does seem to have some notion of his film's place within the horror genre, and there's a wonderful and inspired nod to classic horror and "The Bride of Frankenstein" during Tiffany's transformation sequence. Nice little touches like this, and the fact that this movie does not take itself too seriously and often seems more like a parody of the slasher/Chucky genre, made it even more enjoyable for me.

I hear that Jennifer Tilly will also be involved in the sequel currently filming, "Child's Play 5: Seed of Chucky", which should make it interesting. But I actually wish they'd go back and do a PRE-quel to this movie, focusing on living woman Tiffany's life before bringing back Chucky. -- She is one deliciously twisted, mean and sexy momma!

This movie has not made me a Chucky fan, but it definitely has made a new fan of Jennifer Tilly out of me.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a fun, mindless and light movie just to waste a couple of hours on, this one isn't bad.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stunningly BAD
This movie absolutely puts the rest of the CP series to absolute shame. It's just a slapstick movie with forced laughs and dry humor, and almost no horror. Gone is organization -- they threw in a plot involving an amulent, and Andy could be in hell for all we know. This movie really drops the CP series' quality and honestly, may be the worst movie I've ever seen. The plot is weak. The only plus is good acting, at least by Jesse (Stable) and Jade (Heigl). The movie isn't worth a buy; barely worth a rental.
I do give it credit for not having as many "bloopers" as the first three - editing's been done to the max. But there are a few that I won't mention. Still, the first three had plot holes. This movie technically, unforutnately, has no hole in the plot. It just introduces a new element, which is weak. I think they either could have left the CP then-trilogy alone, or just made something better. But I could see the CP idea getting lame anyway.
Leave it alone...

5-0 out of 5 stars More funny
I like the Child's Play series and though I personally think the first one is the best, this one is good in its own way. Bride of Chucky has much more humour, a lot killings in more unique ways and an extra doll. If you like the Child's Play series, you will definitely enjoy this one but if you never liked the series, I doubt you will find anything enjoyable about this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hardly a good movie but still a lot of fun to watch
Before Chucky turned killer doll, he had a girlfriend named Tiffany. In this movie Tiffany recovers the body of Chucky from a polive evidence locker. Chucky was pretty much torn to pieces in 3 so she sews him back together and uses the vodoo chant to bring his spirit back to the body. He returns just as evil as ever and horror/comedy takes up the rest of the movie.

This is not a good film. It is a horror movie that is so over the top on ridiculousness that it borders on comedy. I never thought I would see Chucky the killer doll, who I feared so much as a child, in a love scene. Seeing Tiffany the killer doll making cookies for Chucky while they're holding a couple hostage is quite amusing. The domestic dispute that develops between the dolls shortly after this is just hilarious.

This movie isn't for everyone. You'll enjoy this if you were a fan of Jason X, Freddy vs. Jason or the Evil Dead movies. If you have a dark sense of humor you'll probably love this movie. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The King of Cool Returns! (In A Kilt!)
I have a few hard-and-fast movie viewing rules, and one that's NEVER let me down is this: Any movie with Samuel L. Jackson is worth seeing. Formula 51 is no exception.

Mr. Jackson (The coolest cat in movies today) plays Elmo McElroy, a Pharmacological genius who has been trapped in a state of indentured servitude for 30 years, toiling away making designer drugs for sleazebag drug-kingpin The Lizard (Played by the extra-crispy Meat Loaf). He's created a perfectly legal drug, (Made from ordinary household objects) which he calls POS-51, supposedly 51 times more potent than Heroin and Cocaine. After breaking loose from The Lizard, Elmo makes his way to Liverpool to sell the formula on his own, and finally start living the good life. Unfortunately, The Lizard has sent assassin Dawn/Dakota (The adorable Emily Mortimer) after him; First to kill him, later to keep him safe until he can coerce him into giving up the formula. THEN kill him....

The film plays like a hybrid of Quentin Tarentino, Monty Python, and Hong Kong action flicks, with a distinctly British flavor injected into it by actors Ricky Tomlinson, Robert Carlysle, and Rhys Ifans, all of whom are excellent. Director Ronny Yu is comfortable mixing genres, as shown by the fast-paced action scenes and the laugh-out-loud comedy. I'll never forget the scene in the lab with the skinheads.....Jackson, is, of course, excellent. I haven't had this much fun at the movies in a LONG time; Can't wait for the DVD!

3-0 out of 5 stars Formulaic 51
A movie that never lives up to its potential, FORMULA 51 seems more like an exercise in filmaking or B-Movie than a major release. People might be looking for a PULP FICTION or a SNATCH here, but it is not quite on the same level. It's more on the level of Mark Wahlberg's 1998 cult action film THE BIG HIT and to no surprise, both films are by directors from the Hong Kong film industry (Ronny Yu and Kirk Wong respectively). What saves the film is the casting of international stars with the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Meatloaf, and Robert Carlyle with their outrageous characters. They are in a story about an American (Jackson) who has invented the ultimate drug in hopes to sell the formula to make a final score. He travels to Liverpool, England to meet with mobsters in hopes it will become the next fashion drug at 'party raves'. The dialogue is fast and crisp, the action and gunplay are graphic and bloody, and there is the right amount of comedy mixed in with the violence with some plot twists and turns to keep the film moving. There are some plot holes and predictable plot devices and if the film went beyond the right amount of 92 minutes, the audience would have had enough of all the gratuitousness. Overall, entertaining, but only for the fact of the cast and slight comedic moments.

3-0 out of 5 stars Formula 51
A qiute good offbeat film that unfortunately misses the mark.
For a start a large number of Americans will not get the irony of the film. Looking at the film in retrospect now, you have to be English to understand some of the humour . Also to our transatlantic cousins, there are other cities in The UK after London!
The superb Samuel L Jackson is playing a toned down caricuture of Samuel L Jackson for us tamer brits; ha ha.
However I do enjoy this film and seeing Jackson trading insults with assorted British tv actors who ( lets be honest )are not going to set Hollywood alight. With the exeption of Robert Carlyle plays a great comical/cynical sidekick who always delivers in his peformances.
It is also refreshing having a British action film, not wussy period dramas or crappy romantic comedies starring the antichrist Hugh Grant!

1-0 out of 5 stars Formula Movie
Join two cool, hip stars like Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Carlyle, add a bland and oh-so-edgy direction, a couple of jokes and visual effects. Then, put a stylish, intrusive soundtrack, lots of f-words, and naturally some sex and drugs. Oh, and a guy who uses a kilt, just to make it a bit more witty. That should make for the absence of an interesting plot, who cares anyway? This is a "Snatch" wannabe (and even that movie wasn`t terrific by any means) that doesn`t quite work. Disposable.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not a waste of time at least
This movie was good to start out, muddled in the middle, and a small recovery at the end. Samuel Jackson does well, Robert Carlyle is awesome, and Emily Mortimer is great. Where this movie fails is in the complete lack of backup characters. Meatloaf is terrible, but not nearly as bad as others that go unmentioned here. The file has some great visual scenes, a good musical score, and decent dialogue. The movie succeeds at balancing humor and action. One just wishes a little more effort was put forth by all participants. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Cynthia Khan excels in superb historical kung fu adventure
DEADEND OF BESIEGERS is a 1992 kung fu film starring Yu Rong Guang (the "Iron Monkey" himself) and Cynthia Khan (IN THE LINE OF DUTY 3, 4 & 5), two fine fighting stars who are in peak form here. Yu stars as a Japanese martial artist visiting China to learn Chinese kung fu. Cynthia plays a village girl and expert in Dog Fist style, who, with the other villagers, mistakes Yu for one of the Japanese pirates who have raided their village. Only when Cynthia's adolescent sister intervenes on behalf of Yu, who saved her life, does Cynthia gradually accept the idea of his innocence. Eventually, he joins Cynthia and the other villagers in fending off a renewed attack by the pirates.

It's a well-told, refreshingly original story, backed up by frequent, expertly staged fighting, all shot amidst picturesque locales and settings in Mainland China. The actors are all excellent, especially the girl who plays the younger sister, a character who spends all her free time caring for and feeding the Japanese outcast, even going so far as to teach him enough of her language to get by.

The DVD includes three language tracks: Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. The Japanese-speaking characters speak Japanese on both the Cantonese and Mandarin tracks. This reviewer prefers the Cantonese track because the Cantonese voice actors are livelier and more expressive, particularly the actress who voices the young girl. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars a victim of sequalitis
this movie was a pretty good sequel to the first one. but it should have been better. i think that if it werent for the acting ability of brigitte lin this movie would have been a flop. dont get me wrong its a good movie but when you compare it to the first one you can tell it falls short and carries all the symptoms of sequalitis. the best part of the whole movie, which about 90 min. in length, is the end scenes. even though i give it a lower rating i would recommend getting this one, or you will never know how the story ends.

2-0 out of 5 stars What was this
Bride with the white hair had hardly any action and really disappointed me. I like the story line and everything and it's pretty sad, but I wanted to see more fight scenes. Don't get this movie is you are expecting action.

well as a Brigitte Lin Chin Hsia Fan, i would say that part 2 wasen't all that cause part 2 can't even compare with part 1 but, the story line is kinda dull but, this movie is sooo dam worth siting and staring at the screen just to see the end. where Brigitte and Leslie comes back together as Brigitte white hair turn back to black (cause they forgave each other and kiss while i guess they died while makine out haha) so worth sit through all them exta stuff just to see the end! but, if you haven't seen part 1 then i really suggest that you should see part 1. well if you didn't like part 1 then you souldn't get part 2 just think of it as leslie died in the moutain waiting for the rose! haha And of course you should see Brigitte Lin other movies such as Peking Opera Blues......etc

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Movie..but watch Part 2 first..
This is a great movie and well done. The only bad thing here is that, Part 2 was suppose to come out before part 1. Becuz after watching part 1, you get the feeling you want to watch part 2 with hopes of the characters continuing just like that.. Trust me, this is one of the great movies ever, watch 2 first, you would be craving to watch part 1.. And there ya go, you would watch it over again.. Well Done..

4-0 out of 5 stars Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be
While it certainly isn't up to par with its predecessor, Bride with White Hair 2 is not an awful movie. I admit that I bought the movie because of the sheer beauty of the first; and it did try its best to rectify the open ending that the original had.

The fighting scenes were bizarre and interesting to say the least, with Brigitte Lin's white hair strangling and piercing bodies all over the place, and the story was, while not terribly engaging, was not tepid enough to be utterly uninteresting. While the relationship between Sunny Chan and Joey Maan is not as interesting as that of Leslie Cheung and Brigitte Lin (hence the four stars, though I wish I could give 4.5 stars..), the young couple were somewhat convincing. Veterans, Brigitte Lin and Leslie Cheung electrifies in their wondrous renditions of the two doomed lovers. Too bad there's only a few minutes of screen time for the pair ;-(

Bride with White Hair 2 certainly is not a bad movie; living up to the original Bride with White Hair's greatness was not an easy task mind you, so the sequal did a decent job. Comparing BWWH2 with other HK wuxia flicks, this one is solid. If you want BWWH2 to give you the same, mind-numbing experience that the original delivers, you're going to be in for a disappointment. Watch the movie on its own, without comparing it to the magnificence of the original. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars DVD Version is a MUST for Fans of This Film!
"The Bride With White Hair" is the film that turned me on to Hong Kong cinema. If you are one of those Hong Kong aficionados who has enjoyed this movie on VHS, I highly recommend the DVD version because of its subtitles. Now---while I admittedly enjoy the awkwardly translated English subtitles in Hong Kong films, this is one film that I love enough that I've always wanted to see the grammar, spelling and sentence structure cleaned up! That is the wonderful surprise I found when I saw this flick on DVD! In addition, if you want to turn friends on to this film, and they're the crowd who just doesn't enjoy a flick with subtitles, then this DVD has an English dubbed version that is fairly good (especially compared to badly English dubbed jobs of great Hong Kong films like "A Better Tomorrow"). For those unfamiliar with this film, "Bride With White Hair" is one of those rare fantasy features that actually makes my eyes a bit misty. What initially strikes me about the movie is the way the story is set up; we see Leslie Cheung (who starred in "Farewell My Concubine"), having sat hunched in desolate state of guard over a healing plant for many years, wondering if "a woman" knows that he regards her as holding great importance, even greater than that of the emperor. A great and tragic story is then told as a recollection, beginning from his childhood when he firsts encounters the mystical girl who saves him from a pack of wolves by charming them with her song. They are drawn together again as adults (Bridgette Lin is both gorgeous and fantastic as The Bride!). The complexities come as both characters are torn by devotion to their clans, barters they have made with others, and by their vow of love to each other. This is beautiful and well told story, visually astounding, and the surreal nature of the film works. I highly recommend you treat yourself to this DVD!

5-0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal Movie!
This movie completely took my breath away! I am rarely impressed by anything, but this film really moved me. Both the tragic plot and the fighting scenes had me completely engaged in the story and the characters from beginning to end. Both Leslie Cheung and Bridgitte Lin gave amazing performances. The climactic scene of ultimate betrayal at the end -- the slap, the sword, the look, the hair -- managed to do what Steel Magnolias, Terms of Endearment and even Titanic couldn't accomplish: make me CRY! (I was sobbing like an infant at that point...) This is a movie for everyone because it has so many elements to it: good cinemetography, a touch of folklore, romance, tragedy, action, swordfighting , etc. It's become one of my favorite movies of all time. The sequel is just as amazing, and ties up the story very well. There was no better way to end such a beautiful yet tragic love story.

2-0 out of 5 stars Funky
What a weird film. Who thought of this? A girl raised in the mountains by wolves, possessing magical hair?

What a bloody freak show.

3-0 out of 5 stars there goes the bride....
iv'e heard a bit about this movie, but to be honest after watching bride, i was slightly disapointed, the story is dull and so is the pacing of the film. and i thought battle royale 2 was slow.
but the fight scenes were top notch. the lead actor leslie chung
gave a great performance. unfortunetly he passed away almost a year ago. (a sucide jump from a hotel balcony in hong kong)
i have yet to see the sequel but i doubt it'll surpass this one as most sequels fail to succeed their predescessors.
anyway yun has gone on to bigger if not better things like freddy vs jason, although sluggish on plotbut more entertaining than bride. IMHO

5-0 out of 5 stars What a huge surprise
I wasn't expecting much out of this movie but it succeeded where most other horror/parody movies fail....it's actually funny.
Chucky's former girlfriend is unhappy. Living in a trailer park, involved with a jerk that makes black look un-goth, all she's got to get her through is that someday she'll be reunited with her one true love. Guess what? She gets her wish.
Bride of Chucky is gory, campy, still manages to be cheesy even with very good special effects, and is basically just a very fun, charming movie.

Oh, to further compliment the movie, Spook master Rob Zombie is the main attraction on the soundtrack. With Rob Zombie you can't lose!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Parody Sequel Ever
.... From the beginning to the end you will be screaming your head off and laughing .... The special effects were fantastic, compared to the cheezy ones from the other 3. The dialogue is hilarious, especially the banter between Chucky (Brad Dourif) and his bride to be Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly). Katherine Heigl (WB's Roswell) is super .... Alexis Arquette and John Ritter are hilariously evil ..., but it is the most hideously bizarre and funniest scenes ever.

5-0 out of 5 stars chucky is the best there ever was
I went and seen chuckies bride and the movie was worth the price I paid for it. I think you guys should make more of those movies, all I can say is keep up the good work, and once again chucky rules!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars mmmmmhhhhhhhmmm
Let me tell you a little story about this being the best movie ever. the

5-0 out of 5 stars Brandon Lee shows what he is capable of...
I watched Legacy of Rage after I saw Brandon's final film, The Crow, and I was literally blown away. Unlike most dubbed films, Brandon's sheer presence and force of character made the film very watchable--I never had a sense that I was missing a part of his performance (although of course I was) because of the intense physical acting of his character.

For The Crow fans who are already familiar with the intensity of Brandon's performance, this is a rare treat--we have proof now that he didn't just miraculously portray The Crow's Eric Draven, but was capable of portraying the angst, confusion and rage of extreme situations in a believable and caring way very early in his too short career.

It is hard to believe that Brandon was so young when he filmed Legacy of Rage--he carries himself with a poise and confidence that belies his tender years...he is believable as a man who has suffered the unbelievable.

In Legacy of Rage, Lee portrays Brandon Ma, a hardworking Chinese youth, holding down two jobs, and saving his money to wed his beloved. Ma's best friend is Michael, whose father is part of the organized crime syndicate, who is being groomed to take his over the family business. When a Michael sets Brandon up to take the fall for a mob hit, sending him to prison for eight years. Brandon loses his love while in prison, and only later learns of Michael's betrayal. After he is released from prison, Brandon is provoked to revenge to save his beloved and the son he didn't know he had from the power maddened Michael.

The fight and shooting scenes are well balance with thoughtful character development. The final confrontation between Brandon and Michael is often compared to John Woo style Hollywood action epics, and rightly so...you will rewind it again and again to catch all the action! The initial fight scene between Brandon and the bully is a treat for Bruce Lee fans. Brandon does several "Brucisms," like cracking his knuckles by clenching his fists, and such. This is the only time you will see Brandon emulate his father on film.

If you are a Brandon fan, this is a must see...forget about Laser Mission and Showdown in Little Tokyo...this is Brandon as good as Rapid Fire, with distinct foreshadowings of The Crow. Get it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Totally cool. The Lee Legends continue to be the best.

Brandon Lee won the newcomer award in Hong Kong for his portrayal of a guy plagued with adversity, but a passionate will to overcome. Bruce Lee had advised his followers to "try again," but by being his son, Brandon had no alternative but to "try harder." His Hong Kong martial arts style demonstated in Legacy of Rage is without equal. ... Read more

You probably realized that Brandon Lee doesn't play in this movie, for the most part. He was not in any of the fight scenes; there were someone else --a stunner. Movie has no plot. If you really want to watch it, because Brandon is playing, RENT IT DON'T BUY IT.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice mix of comedy and horror
Chow and Yeh, future costars of John Woo's "The Killer", and Raymond Wong, one of Hong Kong's top movie clowns at the time, help achieve a nice mix of romantic comedy, farce, and horror. The romantic comedy is no Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn, the screwball farce is no Marx Brothers, the horror subplot is no Exorcist. But the film manages to please, if not impress, the viewer, since it tries hard to be amiable, without any sex or violence that characterize many HK films. Even the horror sequences are fairly tame (but not at all ineffective). It's worth collecting for fans of Chow or HK films in general since good-quality videos for foreign films (speaking to US customers), especially HK films, are sometimes hard to get.

4-0 out of 5 stars fun stuff
This is the third time I've tried to review this film. Previous attempts have landed up in a cyberspace black hole it seems. And I really did keet my comments strictly on the film only till this attempt. :-)

At any rate, enough of that. This film was made in the 80s and looks dated but don't let this deter you. It's still good. It's a fun little film about a woman photographer from Canada(Sally Yeh) who is doing a little research on superstitions. She rents the wrong apartment and runs into some ghostly problems. Along the way she meets Chow Yun Fat and Raymond Wong who are both interested in her.

Now, this film isn't a horror film, it's actually a comedy and a fairly screwball o
