1-0 out of 5 stars I was able to force myself to watch the whole thing.
Awful....beyond terrible...

This movie was plotless, with incredibly bad acting. I think the culmination was seeing the Delta Force insignia sewn upside down on one of the uniforms.

If you are really a die hard fan, you might like it....but don't expect realism.

2-0 out of 5 stars B grade plot, No consistent theme, good action though!
If you like to see guns and bullets this movie is fine. Otherwise there is nothing original or interesting.

3-0 out of 5 stars Promising and O.K. sequel
The movie started off promising, but this sequel to this made-for-video flick needs a little work. 3-0 out of 5 stars EIGHT LEGGED FREAK
OCTOPUS 2 is a sequel that isn't a sequel; it has nothing to do with the original, and nothing is ever really said that indicates how this puppy got so big...but, as a run of the mill creature feature, it has its moments. I liked the rapport between partners Walter and Nick (Frederic Lane and Michael Reilly Burke), but found Walter's exit too quick; he had a nice panache the movie never returned. The effects are average; nothing startling, although the decapitation of the Statue of Liberty in a dream sequence was quite cool. The extended rescue of the kids on the bus (after the octopus' demise) was too long and anticlimactic. Not a horrible movie, but it won't make us forget JAWS!

2-0 out of 5 stars What were they thinking?
I have to say, this is by far, one of the worst sea creature movies I have seen. I didn't even bother to rent it, I watched it on Scifi. It looked exciting, but I was wrong. The Octopus itself hardly moved at all. Its tentacles were the ones that did the moving. Even if the theory of the movie was right, the octopus being swept from the sea, that would've been wrong if it killed people because Octopuses aregentle creatures and do not grow to enormous sizes. Even the first Octopus made more sense and was a lot more exciting. The only reason why I give it two stars is for the acting. Otherwise this below sea level bugdet film is a stinker.

4-0 out of 5 stars octopus 2
An octopus attacks New York city killing everyone. It must be stopped! Pretty average movie. Good to rent

1-0 out of 5 stars Sometimes bad is just bad
I see a lot of movies of this type. I can't stop myself. Giant spiders? Bring 'em on! Huge crocodiles? Count me in! I saw the original OCTOPUS so I was, of course, obligated to the sequel. I didn't think so much of the first one, but what little did I know? The first one was a masterpiece compared to this film. The enormous octopus is basically a stalker in some strange places. You'll wonder aloud, "How did it get there?"
Also, the supposed New york location is indeed laughable. I didn't notice if this is another Canadian production, but it is obviously not New York. Okay, they throw in the obligatory stock footage, including one shot of the World Trade Center.
The biggest fault has to be that it runs long. You think it's dead (The explosion seems of the thermonuclear variety) but wait! Then there is the exciting sequence of people you don't care about escaping the collapsed Lincoln tunnel, I think I almost suffocated.
Oh well, when is Octopus 3 coming out?

1-0 out of 5 stars Pretty silly....
I watched this movie because I felt obligated as a fan of the 1950's killer octopus movies. This movie should only be watched on a system that has a working fast-forward button. It has a few good moments, like where the octopus attacks the Statue of Liberty, but not much else. What actually sold me on watching it was the fact that monster is supposed to attack NYC. Be warned-no one in this film was ever near NY. The whole thing looks like it was filmed at a theme park using customers as actors. No violence, gore, or nudity. There may have been swearing but I was fast-forwarding past the human scenes. The monster looks about as good {or bad} as the monster of the week on Baywatch. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor
As the previous reviews indicate, this is the kind of thing you should watch if you're attending film school, if only as to show you how *not* to make a film. Essentially, everything is wrong; the dialogue consists mostly of 'Flank left!', '.... you!' and grunts, there isn't any characterisation at all, the plot is the barest sliver and the budget was obviously very low. If you haven't got much money to spend on a film, you have to accept that you can't make a special effects blockbuster; the filmmakers don't seem to realise this.

Of course, in a film like this the action is the thing, but that's also lacking; there's no tension or build-up, and it's all rather like 'Commando' but without the camp charm. The heroes run forwards, firing their guns wildly at bad guys who also fire their guns, and then the bad guys fall over. Repeat over and over again.

Really, it's a film aimed at kids, as it's basically a live action children's cartoon. In twenty years there will be a rash of nostalgic websites about this, mark my words. Curiously, the cast and crew seem to be mostly Russian, which suggests that Russia also has a thriving cable TV industry.

In addition to the other bad moments spotted by the other reviews, also note that the child actor in the final scene glances at the camera more than once, whilst in a sequence set in a warehouse an extra hides from gunshots behind some stacked cardboard boxes.

Not to be confused, of course, with 'Navy SEALS', which is also a bad film, but professionally made, with proper actors. The actors in 'US SEALS' appear to have been chosen because they have muscular chins, not for any other reason.

1-0 out of 5 stars worst movie ever
If you like the REAL Navy SEALS you will hate this movie. I bought it and threw it away, I didn't even want to give it away.

3-0 out of 5 stars Everyone should see this film!
Man I read about this flick when I was looking at the bottom 100 worst films ever on imdb.com. So I decided I had to check it out. My friend Will and I rented it and we weren?t disappointed. It was so bad we couldn't stop laughing. With the "Concrete" bunkers that move when you lean on them, the awe inspiring aim of the "good" guys and the ability the "bad" had of some how always be aiming where the seals feet used to be (why aim for the feet?).

After the movie (no joke) we actually called blockbuster and asked them to get this baby out of the action section and into the comedy. But they said to do that we had to talk to their regional manager or some such. Man but I have to tell you this movie is worth watching just for how incredibly bad it is. They some how manage to blend a 1960's effects with the plot of porn it's just amazing. But I just couldn't see giving it more than 3 stars, after all it wasn't intended to be a comedy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disgrace to the Seals
Too bad the bar doesn't allow you to pick "0" stars. This had to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I actually kept watching just to pick the nonsense apart. The plot, action, actors all pretty much sucked. These commando Seals are running around with unlimited ammo handguns like an old Nintendo game and still killing bad guys toting machine guns. Of course the black guy had to die at the beginning with really no reasoning. The dialogue between the actors was quite robotic as if they were reading cue cards. So many silly holes like how they found his wife to kill her in the next scene after they raided the rig..Alot of mysterious intelligence recon in this movie. Now for this to be a top secret unit, they spent alot of time together in that d@mn bar. Guess it wasn't licensed either cause not once did we see them in actual military gear or carrying any special weapons. Wow, if the Seals is really that open like that I should go and join today...These are just random gripes I have about the movie, but too many more to mention....Just please don't buy this movie and somebody find the directors and producers and kick their A$$!

1-0 out of 5 stars Just because you CAN make a movie doesn't mean you SHOULD..
Oh dear, where do I begin? I caught this movie on cable and it was so mind-numbingly awful I couldn't take my eyes off it. The plot, and I use that term loosely, is about a bunch of guys with too much testosterone running around and blowing stuff up after a SEALS wife is murdered. Then you have the trucks hanging from cranes for no reason at all, the indestructable SEALS running around shooting about 900 rounds from the same gun without reloading, the lumps under the bad guys shirt that are obviously squib panels....I could go on and on but you all get the idea. Don't operate heavy machinery after viewing. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth While Seeing
Bryan Genesse from TV's Street Justice Stars in Grade B Actioner about a group of deranged criminals take over a train whith a renagade CIA Operative on Board. Usual action no big surprises but the viewer gets to see some great action sequences on and off the Train. The Only problem i have with the film is the ending was too incoherent It seemed like the director wanted the movie to end in a lame way. The film's strong point is Bentley Mitchum the villian of the film took great relish in portraying a psycho mouthy killer with a meanstreak who gets what he derserves. Not a bad film i have seen much worse in the past. At least this film can hold my attention.

4-0 out of 5 stars New talent discovered
One of my favorite things to do is troll through B movies looking for first-time actors, would-be stars, and the kind of performances that confirm that "there is no such thing as small parts, just small actors." One performance stood out in Death Train, barely discernable amid the explosions, killings, profanity and bloodshed. Jordan Rollins, playing young Javier, jumped off the screen with his understated, sincere, and very likable portrayal of a crippled boy caught in the crossfire. I couldn't find Rollins in any other films, so I am assuming he is a first timer. I can only hope it is not his last. Also worthy of mention are the priest and the little sister - but for my money Jordan Rollins is my "Rookie of the Year" for 2003 for his turn as Javier, the brave boy from south of the border in Death Train.

4-0 out of 5 stars Brian Genesse is a fantastic B-movie action star
This film is a great b-movie action flick; far superior than Van Damme's "Derailed" from a year earlier. The main character in this movie is also one of the stars from my favorite movie ever, Operation Delta Force 3. But in this movie, Brian Genesse is alone as he tackles the ruthless terrorists one at a time, in the tradition of Steven Seagal and Bruce Willis. It was also nice to see Genesse's natural fighting abilities when he was battling the bad guy boss at the end of the film. Without any obvious stuntman, Genesse handles himself quite well.
The final scene of the movie is awesome as his Mexican Federale friend hands him the Tequila bottle for the second time and poor Brian is still out of breath after his first swig. A wide eyed Brian mutters "My turn?", as he grabs the bottle from his friend, not quite ready to take another gulp of the potent liquor.
Nice action movie. After seeing it, I am going to buy it.

3-0 out of 5 stars All Aboard!
This movie is definitely not on the year's A-list, but as low-budget flicks go, it's a winner! The story is basically a modern-day western about bank robbers who commandeer a train somewhere in Mexico so they can escape with their cache of diamonds, and have some fun terrorizing and killing innocent passengers along the way. It's a little violent in spots, but if you're okay with that, enjoy!

By the way, Bentley Mitchum as the ringleader of this bunch of goons is my pick for Best Actor when they hand out the Oscars. All things considered, I think he'll be overlooked, but he's the baddest bad guy I've seen in a long time! I was actually rooting for him over the boring "hero" who did nothing but skulk around in a black leather coat, hiding and climbing back and forth between railway cars.

If you want to go along for an entertaining ride, I'd recommend boarding "Death Train". :)

5-0 out of 5 stars ...
