5-0 out of 5 stars Best movie ever made(OPeration Condor 2: Armour of the Gods
This is the greatest movie i have ever watched in my life( and i've seen a lot of movies) it has comedy up the yin-yang and more action then you can ever hope for, and if you don't like this movie your crazy(but you should at least give Jackie some credit b/c he almost killed himself just for your entertainment)the middle may be a little slow but it doesn't really matter b/c it is full of comedy(what Jackie is known for in his movies) but even if you are bored then you will be glad you watched, for the end fighting sequences are the best fighting scenes in the history of movies and they all include Jackie Chan's great sense of humor in them too. If you want to see a Jackie Chan movie this is the one. Also, the sequel to this movie(Operation Condor) is equally pleasing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Greatest Jackie Chan movie ever
This is one of the best movies ever made, the action scenes were the best I've ever seen. Anyone who does not like this movie is crazy. The plot is like Indiana Jones, but who cares. It's full of action and great comedy. I highly suggest you watch this great movie, because it defenitley towers over all other action movies.

5-0 out of 5 stars Operation Condor2: The Armour Of The Gods (1986)
In this film Jackie almost died. to perform a stunt he had to jump onto a branch. when he tried it out the branch broke! He fell and landed on some rocks which punctured his skull! This film is better than "Operation Condor"! it has got more eye-boggling stunts and possably better fighting! This film is quite alot like those Indiana Jones movies only better!
P.S.
Jackie, if you get the chance to read this review I just want you to take care!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Weird!!??
I don't know what has happned here. This is actually the originall 'Armour of God' made many years before its sequel 'Operation Condor', but anyway...

Jackie Chan or 'Asian Hawk' Goes in search of the armour of god, and then must rescue his best freind's girlfriend (who he is in love with himself) from an evil cult of wich wants the armour so that they can destroy it and reighn supreme over the world.

Great fights (especially the Monks and Amazon women fight) and some good stunts (watch the end credits where Jackie falls from a tree and lands on his head, it almost killed him!).

A brilliant film (although a bit slow in the middle) and well worth the buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must-See for a die hard Jackie Fan like me
Unless you are really a Jackie fan you won't be able to grasp all the humour in this movie. The comedy here is rather asian-styled compared to what you are used to see in the hollywood movies, but quite a few of my Canadian friends seem to have enjoyed this movie as much as I do. The plot and script are rather disappointing but they are compensated by all the action and humour. ... Read more

The popular series was already beginning to turn smug and self-indulgentby 1983, when the first sequel was released. The visually inventive action comedy of the bracing original (which for some reason is not currently available on video) was replaced with a lot of mugging slapstick, as affianced cops Baldy (Karl Mak) and Inspector Ho (the glorious Sylvia Chang) are repeatedly waylaid by criminal activity on their way to the altar. Meanwhile, master thief King Kong (played by pop star Sam Hui, brother of Michael) has been framed for a series of robberies, and a Caucasian hit man named Filthy Harry keeps trying to bump everybody off. It's not what you'd call a tightly plotted picture, but director Eric Tsangdesigns sequences that are thrilling on a purely graphic level--like the squads of identical motorbikes and Jaguars that execute choreographed pirouettes during the chase sequences. Beanpole genius movie director Tsui Hark (Once Upon a Time in China) has a brief supporting role. --David Chute ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A truly funny an innovative bond/mission impossible spoof
I have been trying to get a copy of this movie for at least 15 years now and the fact that it is now coming out on DVD is why I love this format . The movie is a funny spoof of spy movies with amazing action and truly one of a kind gadgets . The series also has a famous villian in every installment , in this one it is the clint eastwood character from the good ,the bad ,the ugly (or at least a lookalike) . This movie is for kids and adults alike and especially for fans of spys and gadgets . I won't be buying it but only because I am buying the whole collection .

3-0 out of 5 stars So stupid, it's memorable!
I never saw the original, but this sequel is extremely fun. The campy acting and shinanigans just add to the laughs! The plot's pretty weak and very unbelievable, but Hui as King Kong is charismatic and pretty humorous. The two robot battle scenes are my favorites. The car and motorbike chase sequences are very well coregraphed. Not sure it's worth buying -- but definitely something to rent for a lot of laughs!

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing bike riding

When martial arts wizard Jackie Chan is in top form, no movie star on earth is more fun to watch. Armour of God never achieves the beautiful, smooth flow of continuous movement that distinguishes Project A--Part 2. In fact, it feels like a botched international coproduction, short on common sense and plot momentum, long on Eastern European scenery and huggermugger intrigue. The wispy premise is the first danger sign: all the segments of an ancient suit of armor have to be located and reassembled, so that the suit can be used to pay the ransom on a kidnapped girl--Jackie's old flame. (He competes for her affections with a chum played by heartthrob pop star Alan Tam.) The creepy Aryan bad guys are hiding out in a mountain retreat in Yugoslavia, which is stormed with gusto. A long second-act interlude of door-slamming bedroom farce is a dreary drag, but there's some good body-slamming action toward the end--especially when Jackie squares off with a trio of black female body builders in S/M leather. With the dashing Rosamund Kwan (the glamorous revolutionary of Project A) as Laura Lai. --David Chute ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Vampire spoof set in modern-day Hong Kong
VAMPIRE FAMILY (1993) is a mild Hong Kong take-off on the Addams Family films (with touches of "The Munsters"), focusing on an eccentric family of modern-day Hong Kong vampires, whose number includes a grandfather who sleeps in a coffin. The family butler was once a dog who still feels the urge to sniff, lick and scratch himself on a regular basis.

Handsome young David Vamp (Jimmy Lin), seemingly the most normal member of the family, is an intern at a local hospital who falls in love with Julie May (Athena Chu), a kitchen worker there, but hesitates to act because of his vampire heritage. David has a sexy sister, Tong, who hooks up with David's love-starved intern buddy and has no intention of letting her vampire heritage interfere. Their combined romantic misadventures fuel the film's freewheeling storyline. Eventually a family secret helps smooth the course of true love for David and Julie May.

Stealing the show is Hong Kong comic actress Sandra Ng who plays the slinky black-clad vampire mama very much in the Morticia vein and vamps in high style throughout. Comedy star Eric Tsang (a Chinese Lou Costello look-alike) directed the film and co-stars as the vampire dad. Onetime Kung fu star Leung Kar Yan appears as the vampire grandfather (the one who sleeps in a coffin). Though it's not nearly as funny as its Hollywood counterparts, fans of HK comedy will find VAMPIRE FAMILY charming, although it may be a tough sell to others. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Hong Kong take-off on POLICE ACADEMY aims wide
American viewers whose only exposure to Hong Kong comedy has been the films of Jackie Chan will be greatly surprised (pleasantly or otherwise) at some of the more outrageous parodies that Hong Kong produces. LITTLE COP (1989) is a spoof of police films that may have been inspired by Hollywood's POLICE ACADEMY series, thanks to its collection of rookie cop hijinks, but is actually closer in tone and spirit to the anything-goes strategy of the AIRPLANE, NAKED GUN, and HOT SHOTS-type parodies. The quality of its relentless stream of gag segments ranges from hilarious to silly to vulgar to deeply obscure, thanks to numerous HK pop culture references (e.g. a soap opera spoof and a pop act performing at a funeral) that may or may not go over the heads of American aficionados. Numerous HK stars appear in cameos, including Maggie Cheung, Andy Lau and Jacky Cheung.

The title character is a short, rotund young man from a family of crooks who is allowed to join the Hong Kong Police Department when they let in "handicaps." He is played by Eric Tsang, who looks and sounds, to this reviewer, like a Chinese Lou Costello (of Abbott and Costello fame). Tsang is one of HK's top comedy stars, although he has frequently taken dramatic roles (GEN-X COPS, THE HITMAN, and COMRADES, ALMOST A LOVE STORY) and directed numerous films, including this one. LITTLE COP offers an opportunity for American audiences to see him in full comic starring mode, although curious fans should check him out first in Sammo Hung's MILLIONAIRES' EXPRESS where Tsang is one of the comic standouts among an all-star cast. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Hong Kong Kung Fu parody with Andy Lau and Brigitte Lin
HANDSOME SIBLINGS (1992) is a lightweight but charming kung fu parody about the budding attraction between two young martial artists, a male and a female, who've been raised by opposing clans to contend for control of the martial arts world. With direction by comedy star Eric Tsang, the emphasis here is on romance and comedy rather than fighting, although there are plenty of graceful "flying fu" scenes in which the characters leap high and flail about amidst swirling fabrics and twirling swords. The leads are played by two high voltage Hong Kong stars---pop idol Andy Lau (MOON WARRIORS) and costume diva Brigitte Lin (BRIDE WITH WHITE HAIR), with a strong supporting cast led by Cheung Man, Ng Man Tat, Richard Ng and, in full flamboyant villain mode, Francis Ng. Fans of Ms. Lin should check her out first in such other high-flying swordplay fantasies of the early '90s as SWORDSMAN II, THE EAST IS RED, DRAGON INN and SEMI-GODS AND SEMI-DEVILS. ... Read more
