"...But I took them away from all that, and now they work for me. My name is Charlie."

Kelly, Jill, and Sabrina--three young women right out of the Academy, working for the illustrious and mysterious private investigator Charles Townsend. Charlie's Angels is a true time capsule of the 1970s, expressed through crime fighting, daunting intrigue, and subtle sexuality.

"Angels in Chains" is a tale of deception in a corrupt women's prison. A distressed woman is desperate to solve the mysterious disappearance of her sister in a Southern prison. The law can't help her, the system can't help her. As a last resort she turns to Charlie's Angels. The Angels accept the assignment and discover that the prison serves as the warden's private ring of prostitution. Among the Angels' "prison mates" is a young Kim Basinger. In "Angels Under Covers," the Angels are hired to investigate a string of strange occurrences in the red light district's massage parlors. Guess what? It appears that more than just "massages" are going on under those red lights. And behind the shenanigans is none other than the police department's crooked Lieutenant played by Ed Lauter. Yes it's campy, but in a wonderfully dated sort of way. --Rob Bracco ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Kate, Farrah and Jaclyn at their best
This one episode alone displays the essence of "Charlie's Angels." It's what the pop-culture obsession, that continues to this day, is all about. This episode comes from the first season, in the fall of 1976. I believe it's show number four. Sabrina, Jill, and Kelly are given the undercover assignment to investigate crimes, ranging from rape to murder, in an all-women's prison. It's non-stop action from the moment the trio is picked up on false drug possession charges. Watch for the action and excitement as the three try to escape their own deadly fate with the bad guys... It's probably the most popular and well-known of all the episodes in the show's history. By the way, in or out of prison, these girls always look GREAT...

5-0 out of 5 stars the episode ever!!!
This episode only tells me how old I am now. Not that I am old but HELLO!, This was over fifteen years ago and I actully remember watching this with my mother. Now here I am watching it again and this campy show is the best episode of all of the series. Thank God, I found it at Sam's. Don't you just love Farrah's Do.
And best of all the three Angels, Jill,Kelly, Sabrina are just beautiful and hey at least the show gave them some brains. Which is something of a miracle for women shows that came out of the seventies which were not many. Being a kid that was born in the mid-seventies I was bombared with t.v. reruns and I was lucky inough to be able to come home and watch this show. The three original Angel's are the best. Cherly Ladd, was great too. But...it just wasn't the same after Farrah left the show. Eventhough though later she did make guest appearances. So buy this video and relive the spirit of the seventies with "Charlie's Angels". Oh, and an added bonus, check out a young fresh Kim Basinger.

5-0 out of 5 stars CULT FAVE EPISODE of the classic 1970's series
This episode has become a cult classic! The angels go undercover as prison inmates to uncover a prostitution ring. Among the guests stars of this episode are Lauren Tewes(Julie on Love Boat) and a young Kim Bassinger. But the real treat is seeing cult movie icon MARY WARONOV of "Eating Raoul,","Rock and roll high school" and Andy Warhol fame. Seeing Mary Woronov as a sadistic prison warden is a hoot and any Woronov fan needs to own this episode! (during admission to the prison while the angels are being sprayed down with a cleaner by Maxine: KELLEY(Jaclyn Smith) says to MAXINE(Mary Waronov) "How long has it been sinse you've been sprayed?" MAxine: "Get cute in here deary and you can get hurt!"HILLARIOUS campy dialouge!Besides the guest stars, the episode is top-notch camp at it's peak! This episode is the highest rated of the series(including the re-runs in syndication) and is a MUST for Mary Woronov fans and Charlie's Angels fans!

5-0 out of 5 stars Charlie's Angels - Angels in Chains
"Angels in Chains"...the quintessential Charlie's Angels episode!

5-0 out of 5 stars Before Buffy, there were the angels.
Before the show was sullied by the addition of Cheryl Ladd, Shelly Hack and Tanya Roberts, it was an unlikely example of both feminisim (women working together to save each other from abuse) and anti-feminism (the bad woman is still butch and grotesque).

Featuring a very young Kim Bassinger, this episode is a classic for Charlie's Angels fans. Set approximately in the first half of the first season of the ABC series, it features flouncy hair, guns and empowered women. This time, the angels are going undercover in a corupt women's prison to save women from being the warden's call girls.

Yes, the idea of a prison prostitution ring is designed to titilate the audience, but the fact that the Angels are resucing those women breaks from the traditional damsel in distress routine. Although critics blasted it and suggested that it was a cheesecake factory, it (unlike the modern counterpart, baywatch) is much less exploitative for women.

This series is so much more, that is should be considered the path breaker for Buffy the Vampire Slayer which shows brains and beauty can coexist. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic DVD release
CHARLIE'S ANGELS gets a wonderful DVD release with perfect picture and two choice episodes.

Farrah Fawcett-Majors, Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson star in two stories from the memorable first season; "Night Of The Strangler" and "To Kill An Angel". The only main qualm is the lack of chapters in the episodes.

Also included is the entertaining "Angels Forever" retrospective featurette which quizzes fans of the show as well as providing footage from the show and details from later cast members including Cheryl Ladd and Tanya Roberts.

Pretty impressive DVD package all-round!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Angels are back !!!!!!!
This two-part special edition is definitely a collector's item especially for those die-hard "Charlie's Angels" fans.It features Jaclyn Smith, who deserves the recognition as the "most angelic of them all," and two of the best episodes of the series. We're not talking award-winning stuff in this dvd issue but an outstanding entertainment to "visit" the undisputed queens of the 70s television.

The episode "Night of the Strangler" shows why Jaclyn Smith lasted so long in the series. Her looks and style are timeless plus that scene in her famous white bikini is a must to see. Of course, Kate Jackson and Farrah Fawcett are on hand to complete the trio.

For the episode "To Kill An Angel," new fans will be surprise that the show is not just pure bikini's and guns. It showcases also the dramatic sides of the trio.

The cover alone is worth the trip, so buy it now and collect! A must!

5-0 out of 5 stars Charlie how do you your Angels get down
OMG, please tell me this is the first of many more to come, Having the Angels on DVD is way fun. One mishap though, NO SCENE SELECTION. But it makes up for that with the Angel Featurette and the digitally enhanced audio and video.

5-0 out of 5 stars CHARLIE,S ANGELS
WONDEFUL lots of added features and Angels Forever is highlights from alot of the shows. This is a must for any Charlie,s Angels fan. Columbia and Tristar have done a GREAT job. Hope they come out with more. Charlie would give them all a week off with pay ,for a job well done.

5-0 out of 5 stars Contains an Exclusive Featurette! Must Have For Angel Fans
Just finished viewing The DVD and in addition to the Two Classic epiodes mentioned in the description, the DVD also has an Exclusive Featurette Titled "Angels Forever"! This 20 Minute Documentary tells of The Impact that Charlies Angels has had on Various Fans and includes Vintage Scenes from The Series from The Farrah Year until the Tanya Roberts Last Year! The Special Feature Contains Hilarious Montages made of vintage scenes from the series! It made me realise why I loved Charlies Angels so much as a Kid and Love it even more now as an adult! The Show was Pure Fun and Escapism an I really missed those days when I would eagerly await every Wed Night for a New Angel Episode and to see what the Angels were Wearing(and in many cases not wearing). Hey for a 13 year old, seeing Farrah Fawcett's Nipples was a Big Deal(probably would not even be talked about today). If your an Angel Fan, you really need this DVD. Christian Nyby (The Thing) directed this thoughtful, eloquent, and superbly acted Rawhide episode. Michael Ansara guest stars as Joseph, a Comanche who a short-handed Rowdy Yates (Clint Eastwood) hires for the cattle drive. Racial tensions within the camp ("Once a Comanche, always a Comanche") are heightened with the arrival of Colonel Macklin (James Whitmore), who led a massacre of the Comanche and is in defiance of a recently signed treaty. The paranoid and increasingly unstable Macklin is gunning for Chief Iron Bull, who he has never seen but is convinced that he "is out to get me." Trail boss Gil Favor (Eric Fleming) warns Macklin that "our business is driving cattle, not fighting Indians." But Macklin's taunts("Maybe Chief Iron Bull is hiding with the women," he challenges tribal elders) and the tragic shooting of an Indian boy sets the stage for a showdown, unless Gil turns over to the Comanche "a gift": Macklin. Whitmore gives an Emmy-worthy performance. His climactic recounting of the massacre he led is chilling. Another standout is veteran character Richard X. Slattery as the camp's most venal racist. --Donald Liebenson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars DVD please! All the Rawhide episodes deserve to be on DVD!
Not putting Rawhide on DVD is such a loss of great entertainment. Rawhide was one of the longest runnnig and loved western series ever made! When Rawhide was originally shown on Friday nights in the 50s and the 60s it had a good number of devoted fans. (It even made it into the top ten list of most popular television shows). Abroad, however it enjoyed a fanatical level of viewership, especially in Japan! Now why don't they put this on DVD! DVD please!
Ok, as for this episode, Iron Bull, it's a good episode. The 'Iron Bull' in the title refers to the legend of an Indian named 'Iron Bull'.In this episode a military man of the time has it out for 'Iron Bull', and Iron Bull's warriors have it out for the miliatary man, with Mr. Favor in the middle! It's hard to say too much about the episode because it's better to watch the episode and let it unfold itself.

Worth the price of purchase alone is guest star Frankie Avalon, as "punk kid" Billy Farragut, taking on series costar Clint Eastwood as Rowdy Yates. "Come on, big boy," Billy challenges. "Let's see what you can do. You're like a bug hunk of wood that needs chopping." Billy's grandmother, Elizabeth Farragut, holds court in Farragut City at the Farragut Motel, just down the street from Farragut Food and Grain ("Kinda tiresome, sheriff?" Rowdy asks, "Never sayin' anything but Farragut?"). She compels trail boss Gil Favor (Eric Fleming) to hire her "wild, selfish, irresponsible" grandson to instill in him some discipline. Billy does not ingratiate himself with the crew ("I don't shake hands with a stinking drover, now or anytime"). He does form an unexpected friendship with the simple-hearted Mushie, but don't go thinking this is going to be like that Andy Griffith episode in which bratty Bill Bixby renounces his spoiled ways. The frontier ain't Mayberry. If you purposely start a cattle stampede, you're going to get what you deserve.Outside of some priceless double takes and whooping Frankie, Eastwood doesn't have much to do in this episode, but Rawhide collectors will still want to add this vintage episode to the herd. --Donald Liebenson ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Rawhide Rocks!
Another good episode. This episode is mostly about this young punk. The young punk kid unfairly roughs up Rowdy in a bar with two other punks, and after you see that you can't wait for Rowdy to settle the score. Everyone is great as usual. The trailboss has to go into town, and it's great to see how he reluctantly does this because he's not used to or into paperwork. There is some tension in this episode as the boy pushes his luck by antagonizing the crew.
There were 217 (one report is over 250) episodes of Rawhide! They should all be available, if not on DVD, then at least on VHS. Rawhide is first class all the way.
As another reviewer stated 'Not from a pc era ... proof of the golden days of the western and Clint Eastwood' ... Read more

When you hear the whip crack, you know you can settle down for some real cowboy fun. The Premiere Episode of Rawhide features a youthful Clint Eastwood as Rowdy Yates, a hand on the cattle drives run by trail boss Gil Favor and his crew of drovers. "Incident of the Tumbleweed Wagon" presents a classic story of miscarried justice and high tension as a load of prisoners wound their captors in an escape attempt, and make trouble for Favor and Yates as our heroes try to herd the criminals to justice--with a band of bad-guy rescuers on their trail. Including a range of characters and interactions that we don't see on television any more, the story unfolds, and we see most get what they deserve. Eastwood's star appeal is obvious even at this young age; it's clear from the beginning that he's destined for greatness. --Rob Lightner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Rawhide: one of the best television series ever made!
as for this episode it is a classic. The series is outstanding and Eric Fleming was the star of that show. I agree with some of the reviews from 'Curse of the Undead' (an Eric Fleming movie)that, had he lived (he died in an unfortunate accident shortly after the Rawhide years) he probably would have been as big a star as John Wayne or Clint Eastwood. Here is more taken from another source
....Rawhide, considered to be the best written and best directed Western on television....For seven seasons, Fleming portrayed an honest, independent, strong, intelligent, and heroic cowboy in the tradition of the American West. He embodied the mythic hero whose sense of justice and morality overrode all other considerations. Fleming's presence as Favor was so dominant that it centered the entire show and provided the base around which all the other characters revolved.
... capable of admitting mistakes, enduring the consequences, and realizing his limitations. In four episodes featuring Favor's interactions with children (Incident of the Fish Out of Water, The Boss's Daughters, Incident of the Hostages, and El Hombre Bravo), his warmth, sensitivity, and overt compassion are particularly evident, adding depth, realism, and a gentleness to the character. The series was mostly shot in Nogales, Arizona and the authenticity of the trail drive was staggering - enough to win The Western Heritage Award from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame four years in a row. The award named Rawhide the outstanding program of its genre for excellence in depicting the West.
...and remained in the top twenty programs through 1962 in America, was number one in Japan and popular throughout Europe

5-0 out of 5 stars Rawhide was, and still is, a great series!
It's easy to overlook the Rawhide series when television only advertises current movies and comedy series (in color, easily accesible), however, if you do your detective work, and watch a Rawhide episode, you'll find the stories ring truer than todays nonsense because these guys are out on the trail running into all kinds of interesting stuff. Don't let the black and white dissuade you!
The Rawhide fellas come across a tumbleweed wagon - a prison on wheels. And who should be in the wagon... thieves, murderers and...a doll! (doll - a lady- come on! back then all the beautifull women were refered to as dolls!)Many of the men are smitten, even a very young Eastwood. But look out... this one's a wildcat! To tell any more would spoil the fun, so check it out..
A young Eastwood is the main attraction of the series, but everyone else has a lot of character, too, and they're all great.

4-0 out of 5 stars proof of the golden days of t.v. westerns and clint eastwood
You must remember this is not from a P.C. era,but young viewers will get good insight into Westerns of the period and why Clint Eastwood is an icon. Good solid tale of the era of the trail drives up the Chissum and Goodnight trail and the bosses and drovers who's job it was to get them to market. Eric Fleming,a little over the top as trail boss Gil Favor and a rather underplayed,Rowdy Yates, that made clint Eastwood Famous. Two bits of Trivia,There was a Mexican drover later in the series name Jesus, but even though they were not politically correct they were certainly things you did not mess with,so in the credits it was spelled phoneticlly(Haysoos). Plus Paul Brenegar's,who played wishbone the cook, played for his last role in films, the fagile old stage driver who died from exhursion on the trip, in the movie Maverick with Mel Gibson and James Garner. Paul Died in real life shortly after the Films release. I think you will enjoy this Adverture of Rawhide. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the great classic episodes of this memorable series
While the whole of the first season of "Lost in Space", is excellent the very early episodes that were made up out of the unaired original pilot are by far the best for excitment, special effects and intriguing storylines. No where is this more evident than in the classic episode number four "There Were Giants In The Earth" which followed on from my own personal favourite "Island In The Sky". These early scripts flowed on from each other in a continous storyline while later the episodes all became selfcontained stories within the one hour format.

"There Were Giants In The Earth", takes up the story from the previous episode and finds the Robinson family, Major West and the dastardly Dr. Smith settling in to life on the strange planet which would be their home for over a year. The plot developments in this episode are excellent and really instill a feeling of unease and tension in the viewer as we see the Robinsons set up their hydroponic garden, test out their new force field around the camp and begin to learn some of the very worrying features of their mysterious new home, so very different from Earth. These features make up the excitment of this episode. Firstly Professor Robinson discovers the weather conditions of the planet are wildly erractic and in a constant state of change going from a state of freezing temperatures through to a climate so scorching hot that any vegetation is likely to be burnt. This brilliant plot development is given full coverage in this episode and in the following excellent installment "The Hungry Sea". Rather sadly the planet tamed down considerably weather wise after that episode and this potentially exciting element of the castaways trying to survive in these unpredictable conditions was with one or two exceptions never explored again in the coming season.

To escape these conditions the party decides in order to survive to abandon the spaceship and head south to avoid the coming intense cold and it is here that the most fantastic creatures ever thought up for "Lost In Space" are introduced, the terrifying Cyclops. The visual image of this huge creature, the "Giant" of the episode title, is breathtaking and its attack on Professor Robinson and Major West at the weather station and again when the whole family are in the chariot heading south involves some of the most memorable moments of the entire series. The Cyclops is wonderful in its execution and holds up beautifully today in its scary appearance and aggressive manner. I only wish that the "Giants" of the title had returned in later storylines for the season as they are sensational. The episode concludes with the party taking refuge in a huge cave during a fierce electrical storm during their travels (in itself a special effects masterpiece) and discovering an incredibly eerie underground city that has been abandoned for centuries by some lost civilisation. These scenes as the family first explore and then get seperated from each other are superbly done and build up the tension and combined with the cobwed covered alleys of this strange underground city create a memorable viewing experience. Certainly these scenes are some of my favourites of the entire series. The resulting earthquake then leads us into the next episode of this exciting introduction to the series.

What was so great about episodes such as "There Were Giants In The Earth", is that it gave equal screen time to all members of the Robinson party and allowed some real character development to occur. This episode is sensational and shows "Lost In Space", at its very best with an exciting storyline, excellent premise, with great thought going into all developments and great acting by all cast members. The black and white photogrpahy of this season of the show before it changed over to colour also I feel gave the stories an eerie quality which is very evident in this episode dealing with the Cyclops. Enjoy a trip back to the golden age of television with one of the best installments in this classic series "Lost In Space".

5-0 out of 5 stars Strong display of the pioneering spirit and will to live!
What stands out the most in this episode is the strong level of commitment and pioneering spirit of this brave crew to survive any obstacle. This show should remind us all that hard work will pay off in the end. Of all of the shows seen I love this one the best due to the acting of Guy Williams who displays the heart and soul of a Man determined to keep his family alive. This show also shows the first use of the force field system and the weather station. My NICV Maintenance & Calibration Manual uses this show as the building block. (...)

5-0 out of 5 stars not bad at all
I loved this episode the plot was very "cool", and you got to love that cyclops.

5-0 out of 5 stars Firing one and two!!
This episode is what Lost In Space is all about...survival!! The endearing aspects of the show, to me, has always been the triumphant overcoming of Professor Robinson and Don to repair the SNRGS telemetry and deutronium fuel systems of the Jupiter 2! From the episode "The raft" where they attempt to derive a synthesized deutronium fuel source to leave Preplanus in the first series, we fans-true fans of the show always sat at the edge of our seats wondering ...are they going to lift off soon? Did they solve their deutronium fuel problem? This episode shows what they are made of and of course...Dr Smith and his hilarious game of cards for trading a thruster control he stole from the Astrogator repair parts, for the "precious" cosmonium of Mr. Nerim is funny! And shows the Doctor's legendary insanity!! Oh the pain....the pain. The action mounts near the end as we see the Jupiter leave before Preplanus becomes a giant cosmic dustball in a fiery blaze! The special effects of the Jupiter Lifting off showing the antigravity drive struggle to achieve the nearly impossible task of coping with the unbalanced gravitational fields is cool and worth the wait! Every Lost In Space fan MUST get this one!
Plus...Watch for my new NICV Maintenance & Calibration Manual @ March 2004 on CD-ROM ( pda format )!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Not one of the best, but noteworthy!
As has been mentioned by the other reviewers, this one is notable solely as the first color broadcast of the 60's series. It also features an amusing performance from veteran character actor Strother Martin. Martin will forever be remembered as the warden in Paul Newman's "Cool Hand Luke" who uttered the famous line, "What we have here is a failure to communicate."

Having Martin on hand was one of the show's most inspired casting coups.

4-0 out of 5 stars First episode in living color!
The Robinsons finally blasting off into space after a year of being stranded on a black and white planet. The beginning of this season definitely set a new look and trend for the series, even though camp loomed on the horizon. I felt the story moved right along placing the Robinsons in a ''do or die'' situation of leaving the planet upon impending doom. I always get excited when I think back to the night this episode first aired on CBS. I give this one a thumbs up.

4-0 out of 5 stars Blast Off into Color
This is the first episode of the second season of the 1960s television show, Lost in Space, and it is also the first episode that was ever aired in color. It features the notorious Dr. Zachary Smith attempting to swindle the elixir of life from a prospector who is destroying the planet that the Robinsons are marooned on, from the inside out. As the title indicates, a "blast off into space" eventually ensues in this campy clasic which is a "must have" for any fan of the series. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best excitement ever for Jupiter 2 crew!
This was the very first episode I saw when I was eight years old! Seeing the Jupiter flyby around the derelict and it's entrapment was super cool! Hearing the unique ISD drive engine sound was the coolest ever sound effect of its kind! This trilled me the most! Interestingly how the plot of this episode ended up in the released movie. No doubt the writer must have liked this episode too. All Lost In Space fans must get this one for the fact that it displays the crew of the Jupiter 2 do what they do best...survive!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Waaaaaaaaaay better than the first!
It just got better with the Jupiter 2's first encounter with alien life forms! A very suspenseful episode which later evolved into an important partt of the excelent '98 movie!

5-0 out of 5 stars Possibly the best episode
The Derelict is considered by many devotees of the show to be the best episode. You can see Dr. Smith as a cold, calculating saboteur, before he became a prissy sissy in later episodes. The Jupiter 2 is drawn into an unfamiliar spacecraft. Dr. Smith is brave about exploring it because he thinks the ship belongs to his co-conspirators. His bravado disappears when he realizes his error. It's said that the LIS movie took a lot from this episode. I would agree. This episode, and the one before it and after it are very good. Almost straight Sci-Fi, and not a talking carrot in sight. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent episode with all the right elements
"Island In The Sky" is without a doubt my personal favourite of all of the excellent episodes of the first black and white season of "Lost In Space'. It is very sad that a series that started out so wonderfully, full of exciting storylines, superb special effects and great characters should have been allowed to drift off into a semi comic approach that not only spoilt the series but contributed to its ultimate demise. I believe any diehard fan of the series would agree that the first season of "lost In Space', is terrific and no episode is more enjoyable than Episode number three "Island In the Sky".

I agree with an earlier reviewer that this episode is really a benchmark for what the rest of the series should have been measured on. So much that is important in the series occurs in this action packed episode. As an exciting beginning to the episode we see Prof. John Robinson (Guy Williams) parajetting himself down to investigate the strange planet that the Jupiter 2 is circling in the hope of landing for much needed repairs,Dr Smith is at his most devious here and not only does he seek to kill all members of the crew but he tampers with the breaking rockets in both John's parajets and those of the main spaceship. The fantastic crash landing sequence where we see the Jupiter 2 coming in for a rough landing on the planet's rugged surface was without a doubt some of the most stunning photography done on "Lost In Space" or any other series in the 1960's. Even when watching this episode today the sight of the spaceship flying down among the dagged rocks still thrills me , so superbly filmed it is. Once on the planet we are treated to some great location photography of the mysterious planet's terrain which was partly filmed in Red Rock Canyon near Las Vegas. This location shooting really added a strange eerie feeling to these earlier episodes of the series and made you really feel that this was a unknown planet far beyond our solar system. We get to see for the first time in "Island In The Sky" the wonderful Chariot, the Robinson's onland travelling vechicle, a marvel of 1960's technical know how and also in this episode we are introduced to the "bloop", a lovable furry little monkey with strange ears who is christened Debbie and would become Penny's pet for the first part of the series.

What I also like about this episode is the impending sense of danger and of being in the unknown which is felt in every frame of the story. It really builds up the excitement and dramatic appeal. The story also benefits from the contributions of some very fine actors in the cast. I feel far too much attention is always focused on Jonathan Harris in his role of Dr. Smith. Naturally his villian character was essential to building the storyline and creating the tension and indeed in this episode he is wonderful as the deadly sabouter who will do anything to get back to Earth. However I have always felt that the characters of the Robinson family and Major West are potentially just as interesting. With great performers like Guy Williams, June Lockhart, Mark Goddard, Billy Mumy, Angela Cartwright and Marta Kristen the show was blessed with acting talent in abundance and no episode uses that talent better than "Island In The Sky".

I grew up with "Lost In Space" and still love it now. The first season is the one to really watch with its serious themes, great guest stars and terrific special effects. I cannot recommend "Island In The Sky", highly enough. Combined with the following story, "There Were Giants In the Earth" you have a classic double of first class SciFi entertainment from the golden age of television. Enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Episode that Should Have Been the Series' Standard
If any single installment of the popular show stands out as the one that is the best, it would have to be "Island in the Sky." The Robinson Family shows its strength and devotion, Dr. Smith is sinister and self-absorbed with little of the "nervous Nellie" that he would later become, and the crash scene is perfect as the Jupiter II makes its descent to the planet below.

It is a shame that very few of year 2 and 3 episodes come close to this level.

4-0 out of 5 stars Exciting Stuff!
The action comes fast and furious here: the decision that the Jupiter 2 can't continue without extensive repairs; the pre-landing scouting mission; John's rockets misfire; Smith's attempt to take over the mission; the crash; the search for John, etc. The music of John Williams is top notch. One question: wouldn't the Space Pod come in handy here? Oh, well...

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally out in space....but to where?
This episode intrigued me the most because of the creative way the Astrogator was used to plot their time-space solution to avoid a collision with the star SOL! Excellent humor as Doctor Zachary Smith dumps the RFC system! I was sure Don West or John Robinson would throw him overboard when I first saw this 33 years ago! Also I found it exciting when Alpha Control finally made contact with the Robinson crew! A must for all Lost In Space Fans! It was this episode plus "The Raft" which caused me to write the book "Jupiter 2 Propulsion Specifications". Excellent story!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Show
I love watching charlie's angels. I am looking for a certain epsiode that I can't find on tape it seems. It's either called Let Our Angel Live or To Kill an Angel the final episode. That is my favorite. If anyone knows or has this epsiode please email me, [e-mail address]I wish they would make a Charlie's Angels reunion movie. With all of the angel's. I can't wait o see the new movie Charlie's Angels's 2, I heard jaclyn smith is supposed to star in it with cameron diaz, and lucy lui. Hopefully it will be good.

4-0 out of 5 stars Angels forever....
The series was based on three female detectives who worked for the Charles Townsend Detective Agency. Charlie, who was their anonymous boss, gave them assignments via a speaker phone. The show was based on guns, hair, and make-up. The trio consisted of Sabrina Ducan (Kate Jackson) best known for being the "smart angel," Jill Munroe (Farrah Fawcett) known as the "athelic angel," and rounding out the team was "street wise" Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith). The Angels worked with their trusty male counter-part, John Bosley, played by David Doyle.

Charlie's Angels was a huge success the moment it hit the airwaves. Each Wednesday night, around 10 o'clock, women tuned in for the clothing and hair, while men just tuned in.

Contains two tapes of the Angels battling the bad guys. features two tapes Angels in Chains and Angels Under Covers. Each tape contains two episodes:

Angels in Chains features: 1- AGELS IN CHAINS (10/20/76): in which the Angels infiltrate a prison with a secret brothel. Guest stars: Kim Basinger, Lauren Tewes, Christina Hart. 2- THE BLUE ANGELS (05/04/77): The Angels find themselves barely covered in a massage parlor while investigating a prostitution ring. Guest stars: Dirk Benedict.

Angels Under Covers features: 1- TO KILL AN ANGEL (11/10/76): Kelly helps a young boy and finds herself accidentally shot by a gun that was used to kill someone else moments before in an amusement park. 2- NIGHT OF THE STRANGLER (10/13/76): The Angels go undercover to find who is killing high fashion models. 5-0 out of 5 stars Lost in Space at its classic best
"The Hungry Sea", episode No. five of the first season of "Lost in Space" is another of the top class episodes which were created out of material from the original unaired pilot episode and it was a direct follow on storywise to the classic "There Were Giants In The Earth". After this episode the real first season episodes began and while all excellent they did lack with a few exceptions that very exciting quality so evident in these earlier episodes.

"The Hungry Sea", brings to a climax the story of the Robinson's dangerous trek south in the chariot to escape the freezing temperatures currently being experienced as a result of their inhospitable planet's erratic orbit around it's sun. Rarely have so many spectacular special effects come together in one episode as they do here. It is among my personal favourites of this series as the storyline was kept taut, the impending sense of danger was never far from the surface and all the characters were equally given time to develop and contribute to the action at hand. After escaping from the caving in underground city the party resume their travel and cross a huge inland sea which has been completely frozen over. Only after reaching the other side where they see strange examples of vegetation which has been first burnt and then frozen do their suspicions about the rapid changes of the planet's temperature start to form and fear starts to set in. At this stage in the story is introduced an excellent element when Prof. Robinson and Major West (Guy Williams and Mark Goddard, two excellent actors who were consistently terrific through the whole series run), come into direct conflict with each other over their next course of action. This tension and the divided loyalties that arise add a wonderful realistic element to the parties' interactions as the tension and fear over what will happen arises. Warned by a mellowing Dr. Smith back at the spaceship their fears are confirmed and they are just intime to take steps to protect themselves from a rapid increase in temperature beyond anything experienced on Earth. The scenes of the native vegetation around the chariot erupting into flames is still a stunning effect and gives this episode classic status in Sci Fi television. Upon the return journey home the party have to recross the inland sea and find it now a full fledged ocean and here we see another innovation of the chariot which now becomes a vechicle for sea going travel, an device never again used in the series sadly. Here the special effects are second to none as the chariot experiences a wide storm at sea with the whole party almost drowned in a huge whirlpool which looks as frightening today as it did back in the 1960's.

"The Hungry Sea", exhausts the last of the unused footage from the pilot episode and the storylines did become alot tamer after this offering. This episode shows what made "Lost in Space", such sensational viewing as I was growing up. Dr. Smith, now infamous as a comic buffoon is here still a serious and villianous character which suited the series so much better. His
character would have inevitably mellowed as the series progressed living with the Robinsons as he had to but the direction his character took was a terrible mistake and ultimately spoiled the series. There were certainly many excellent episodes later in this first favourite season and even the second and third seasons contained some excellent ones as well but it is these very early episodes of the series that are so fondly remembered by fans. "The Hungry Sea", is definately one of those and I highly recommend it to you as an example of exciting television from the 1960's. Enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Hungry Sea
Have seen many times one of the best from the whole series. Good Special effects

5-0 out of 5 stars There back!
Here we go! There making 5 star episodes again! Not as good as episode 3, but pretty damn good!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best of the Series
"Lost in Space" is one of those shows from the past that is either praised or loathed. I am one individual who has fond memories of the 60's "classic." This episode is, by far, a cut above many of the later episodes which began to place too much focus on the Will/Dr. Smith/Robot formula. Although this first season show features a "softening" of the Smith character, as played by Jonathan Harris, this installment shows the bond between the family members and their efforts to survive a blistering sun, earthquakes, a whirlpool, and an unknown future. Harris has a field day when forced to spend time alone with the Robot who at the time had not developed any "human" qualities. An amusing banter is showcased between the two which adds immensely to the story. The special effects featuring a storm-tossed Chariot are somewhat spectacular for the period. John Williams' score, with "borrowed" cues from Bernard Herrmann, is highly effective. Even the rarely used "Judy" gets to have a juicy line or two. It is too bad that the series lost the quality of this episode in exchange for outlandish and garish plots in the second and third seasons. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The series' finest hour, PART I
Featuring a great guest star turn from Michael Rennie (memorable as "Klaatu" in the classic "The Day the Earth Stood Still"), "The Keeper" is the best episode of the entire three-year-run of the show. All the characters get great attention in this two-parter that features great camerawork, special effects, and use the music composed by John Williams for the pilot episode. After such a stellar episode, it is a shame that the "powers-that-be" decided to devote the second and third seasons on camp that would ultimately result in the show's demise.

5-0 out of 5 stars Probably the best of the Black and Whites!
This is a can't-miss episode! There are millions of aliens and plenty of action! This one is sure to make a bad day go GREAT!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best in the series

4-0 out of 5 stars Good View
Along with the two part classic, "Hills Are For Heroes", this
episode depicts a humanistic, sensitve side of Saunders which is rarely showcased on this series. A cowardly, non-
confrontational soldier (James Best) is left to cover the back of Saunders during battle. This occurs after Saunders receives news about a brother who's missing in action.

A poignant, thought provoking episode which is easily one
of Combat's best. And certainly one of Vic Morrow's best
performances.
