I Hope Touched by an Angel Gets Complete Season DVD Boxsets!
Touched by an Angel was one of my Dad's favorite TV shows and it became one of my favorites too. I have a lot of favorite episodes and The 151st Psalm is one of my favorites, it is a sad but touching episode about a boy who is dying and how he wants to help his mother finish a song she was writing but never finished. The mother is played by Wynnona who I think did a great job and so did the actors who played the boy and his friend. This show was very popular and I don't understand why CBS cancelled it in order to air stupid reality shows and I wish they would start making new episodes or even TV movies and I really want to see Touched by an Angel put on DVD in complete season boxsets!

Fantastic!
I watched this episode first on TV, then I went out and bought the tape!! It was the first TV show that made me cry, but it the tears were happy tears. The acting in this episode was great. The message of love, acceptance, hope and, of course, that God loves us (more specifically you and me) went straight to my heart.

If you never buy any other Touched By An Angel videos or if you never watch another episode, make sure you get this one!

It's Finally Coming Out on DVD!
This is an update to my last review. The Touched By an Angel episodes on this tape are good but there is some great news! The First season of Touched by an Angel is being released on DVD on August 31, 2004. FYI: John Dye who played Andrew wasn't in the first season. I think he joined the show sometime during the second season and the angel in the first season who helped Tess and Monica was named Adam and played by Charles Rocket.

Wanted! "Touched By An Angel" DVD boxed set
I loved "Touched By An Angel" from the beginning. I had recorded episodes sent to me while stationed in Haiti with the Army in 1996. There was discussion at the time about cancelling the show. Public outcry helped to save the show. Had that not happened, there wouldn't have been a "151st Psalm" episode (the 100th episode) that's been mentioned in so many of the previous reviews. The audience is here, the demand is here, only the supply is missing. Release this series on DVD. You won't be sorry!

THE GREATEST TELEVISION SHOW EVER!
For nine years America was "Touched by an Angel" on prime-time. When the show was cancelled last year, TV became a wasteland. Simply put, this is the greatest television program ever because of the genuis of Martha Williamson and one of the greatest ensemble casts ever to grace the TV screen.

These two episodes will show you why. I can't wait for the season by season DVD boxed sets to come out and I don't understand what Paramount is waiting for!! They will make a mint off this series.

This is one series that will rank with the classic dramas of television like "The Waltons", and "Little House".

Buy this video if you haven't yet. If you have seen the show and watched it faithfully for 9 years, the way I did, then no further explanation is needed. ... Read more

Christmas Miracle
I have seen all of the "Touched by an Angel" episodes and enjoy them all! Right now one of my favorite is "Christmas Miracle". I like the songs and the singing and the story line is always inspirational.

5 Star Video You Can't Miss!!!
All I can say after watching this video is WoW!!!
This would have to show Touched By an Angel at its finest! The acting is superb in both epsidoes, and the storyline, as always holds a feel-good and important message, and I would reccommend seeing this for any Touched fans, and even those who aren't!

This 2 episode tape features the excellent episodes, 'The Face of God' and 'Netherlands'. The first episode, 'The Face of God' deals with the moral issues of genetics, whilst the second episode, 'Netherlands' deals with the tough issue of terrorism. Both issues are dealt with extremely well in these episodes, and make this video a MUST SEE.

As always, the Touched by an Angel cast, crew and writers have provided inspirational and uplifting episodes. Well acted all round, with great storylines, and an even greater message and meaning, there is something for everyone to get out of these 2 amazing episodes.

Believe it or not, this was pre-September 11th!
I have only seen "The Netherlands" on television once, so I can only review this portion. Personally, I think EVERY American, every person of faith, and every person with any moral fiber whatsoever needs to see this absolutely stunning piece of film. It was shocking to me to discover that this was actually filmed and aired before September 11th! When you get to the scene where the angels recognize other angels - sorry, can't give you any further details without ruining it for you - you will know exactly what I mean. At this price, you cannot afford to miss this! Just please trust a fellow Christian and patriotic American who happens to be a stranger to you at this point: you NEED to see "The Netherlands." The TV Show Should be on DVD!
Christy was a great show, I watched it when it first aired on CBS and I watched the reruns on Pax but unfortunately they stopped showing reruns of the TV episodes in favor of new made for Pax movies not even starring the original actors. I think Kellie Martin was great as Christy Huddeston and gave the character a wonderful wide-eyed innocence that made the character very endearing and the show was very heartwaming. The rest of the actors in this show were great too including Tyne Daley as Miss Alice and Stewart Finley McClennon as Dr. MacNeil. I would like to see the TV show get all of it's episodes put out on DVD in a boxset.

Warmth and Compassion
Once again writer Patricia Green brings to life the story of Lenora Wood's time in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee as related in Catherine Marshall's fine novel about her mother. Just as in the origional movie and series starring Kellie Martin, she has dipped her pen in warmth and wholesome substance to give this feature length movie a special glow, perfectly capturing all that was great about the book.

Kellie Martin will forever be the only Christy Huddleston to most of us, as she also captured perfectly the young and exuberant 19 year old girl who came to Cutter Gap to teach and fell in love with her children. This story takes place around Thanksgiving and winter looks bleak for the already poor families of Cutter Gap. This one is dense with interweaving storylines. A church bell that David (Randall Bantinkoff) wants to get up the mountains, and a contest for the best turkey brought to a Thanksgiving feast are just two threads to this richly textured tapestry of substantive entertainment, the likes of which we rarely get anymore on television.

When Christy's father (Robert Foxworth) comes to visit, joy turns to heartache when he suffers a stroke and her prim mother (Dixie Carter) comes to Cutter Gap also. She will not allow the doctor (Stewart Finlay McLennan) to look at him even though he could help, allowing only her family doctor to attend to him. This causes much friction between she and Christy, who must decide whether to leave these mountains and her children and help care for her father.

While all this is going on there are some funny moments as both David and Doctor Neil humourously and subtly try to get the upper hand for Christy's heart, which is still divided. The children's efforts to camouflage themselves and get that prize turkey offer some light moments also. Tyne Daly is on hand again as Miss Alice, the Quaker woman who knows both heartache and these mountains and their people. Tess Harper is fine once more as Christy's friend Fairlight Spencer.

Hope and faith in the face of despair are themes played out in a tender and loving fashion, which is what this series always did. Christy will be suprised by her mother's unexpected connection to these people, and a gesture of love will make her painful decision an easy one. A dream Fairlight has results in a blessing for all who must make it through the winter in these Smokey Mountains, and a little boy will learn to overcome his prejudice before the heartwarming conclusion to this satisfying movie.

This outstanding drama was to good to remain on television for long but this wonderful addition to the origional film with Kellie Martin, and the series that follwed, is a 'must have' for all Christy fans.

The entire series
I hope to collect each video in the series. Christy's compassionate and passionate attempts to educate children and families of Cutter's Gap, Appalachia, North Carolina is inspiring, uplifting and entirely entertaining. Performances by Tyne Daly, Kellie Martin and Christy's cast touch and tickle one's deepest senses. The series is far beyond the usual forgetable fare found on television. Christy should be a welcome addition to any home video library. I only hope that one day, someone will produce a DVD set of the series.

Great video for children & adults!
I have been lucky enough to have all the Christy videos, and this one is one of my personal favorites! The acting is superb, and Amazing Grace features several notable guest stars: Judy Collins and John Schneider among them! You will learn the secrets behind Alice's daughter Margaret, and get to hear Judy Collins' beautiful singing.Do yourself a favor and watch this short lived but excellent series!

Great for the family
Christy is a story full of beloved characters and rich, beautiful mountain settings. The story is about the experiences of a young girl who moves to the mountains to teach school for the mission. There hasn't been anything on tv this wonderful for families since Little House on the Pairie. Get a copy to watch over and over! (and get the book too!) ... Read more

Man I wish this series would have received a bigger push
The title of this review is exactly how i feel. This sitcom really needed more episodes, finding the entire set at a local online tape trading site comes to my attention.

Carrey is an eager animator who arrives to the duck factory in hollywood to meet legendary Buddy Winkler for a job interview. Winkler is creator and owner of Dippy Duck and the Duck Factory respectively. Upon arrival, he finds that Winkler has passed away. With his would be-employer deceased, he has no one to turn to. With Winkler dead, the Duck Factory is about to go under, and disband. With Carrey's optimistic and loveable personality he gains the other employees trust, and soon the Duck Factory is up and running once again, and it goes on like this...

If you like Jim Carrey, this is an excellent place to see his acting genius. Though he is not slapstick like in the Mask or Ace Ventura, he's by all means still entertaining, in fact, the entire cast here is very entertaining. The personalities are cohesive and work very well with eachother and their environment, which is, a cartoon studio for a the popular cartoon dippy duck (not a true to life cartoon character). All the actors play off each others humor very well, making each show plenty humorous to watch. From the ditzy mrs. Winkler to the funny voice acting of Wally Wooster (voice of dippy duck and 600 other cartoon characters). Again, if you're looking for more Carrey Mania, or just looking for another decent sitcom, this and the Duck Factory: Final Episodes Tape are worth the ten bucks or cheaper to buy them. I'm only too disappointed the show didn't last more than one season. Enjoy!

Touching...
I've never been a huge fan of this show, in fact the holiday episode with Ann-Margret was the only episode I caught. That being said, it's one of the most touching and well acted (largely in part due to Ann-Margret's brilliant performance) show I've seen in a long time. This episode will surely make you teary-eyed...I was expecting a sappy holiday episode and this is in no way that! This is a great piece of work. The Christy series is full of uplifting morals and values...it's also truly inspirational in that Christy is a true heroine as she fights for what's right, even though that's not always the easiest thing to do in CutterGap! She is a wonderful role-model for all ages.

Hogan's Heroes was a hit from the beginning of its televisedrun, from the fall of 1965 through the spring of 1971. This video,volume 1 of a three-volume collection, comprises two uncut episodes fromthe venerable Bing Crosby Productions series on CBS television: theblack-and-white pilot episode, "The Informer," and a color episode,"Kommandant of the Year," from the first season. With good transfers and no commercial interruptions, these shows make for some charming, nostalgic,laugh-track-filled family viewing.

"The Informer" introduces all of the series' regulars, Colonels Hogan (Bob Crane) and Klink (Werner Klemperer) and Sergeant Schultz (John Banner), as well as Hogan's multinational, multiethnic group of heroes: Kinch (Ivan Dixon), Carter (Larry Hovis), Newkirk (Richard Dawson), and LeBeau (Robert Clary). We even get a glimpse of a short-lived Russian character, Sam (a.k.a. Vladimir Minsk, played by Leonid Kinskey), whose tailoring duties would later be adopted by LeBeau. An even shorter-lived prisoner, Wagner (Noam Pitlik), joins the group and ingratiates himself with Hogan--but is he really who he claims to be? Hogan reveals to Wagner a number of underground operations, including a mint, a communications center, a steam room, and machine shops. Wagner, however, has a hilarious time later trying to expose these operations to a skeptical Gestapo (represented here by character actor Leon Askin). Meanwhile, all the set props familiar to baby boomers--the tunnel entrance under the cot, the coffee-pot tap into Klink's office, the hidden periscopes, and the prisoner-friendly dogs--are introduced for our benefit only.

In "Kommandant of the Year," the easily flattered and distracted Klink isgiven a phony awards ceremony in order to allow the Heroes and theircollaborators time to gather information about a new German V-bomb and then direct it away from England. Carter has returned from his abortiveembarkation there ("He escaped in!") to remain as a dimwitted regularnevertheless effective with munitions. A 'must have' for every Hogan's Heroes fan
The Hogan's Heroes 3 Video Gift Set is unfortunately not available in Germany so I had to come to the U.S. to buy it here. Although the price for postage & packing was higher than the price of the gift set itself, it was a good idea to do so, because I had the pleasure to see the original series and not the german version with the german translations. It is a 'must have' for every Hogan's Heroes fan even though the price in total was extremely high and the were some difficulties with the U.S. NTSC video system.

The first is most often the best.
Hogan's Heroes is among the best of the military comidies ever made, and to all of those who thought they've seen every episode...think again! This tape contains the first (and formally unseen) episode "The Informer" in its entirety. Although it is in black & white, it is in my opinion, one of the best stories in the series, and of course has become the model for the rest of theseries to follow. Great laughs all around. ... Andy and Barney are always great
Just want to assure you that this is a good video. It does have the silly whistling song, instead of the original Andy Griffith theme, but we didn't really mind that. We quit watching tv because it was just getting too obscene, so this was a real find for us, and truly enjoyable.

Where's the theme song?
I guess the video company that purchased the rights to these episodes decided it would be less expensive to compose their own theme music instead of paying the copyright holder to use the familiar "whistling" tune on the tape. Whatever the reason, it doesn't work.

The episodes are the same great shows we all remember, but the music isn't the same and the visual quality of the tape itself is a little bit shaky. Be aware of this if you're considering a purchase of this cassette.

A great collection of Andy!
We are very pleased with this collection. We are really big Andy fans and this is a very nice collection of episodes. 2 thumbs up!

No Stop Andy!
You can never get enough of those old-time classics. This Andy Griffth tape features 10 episodes that will entertain you for hours. I found this tape and I could not pass up a deal like this. I received this tape 1 week ago and I have already watched every episode atleast 2 times. The quality is great and it has all the best episodes. Great shows,but very dissapointing video!!!
"The Andy Griffith Show" is perhaps one of the absolute best and very entertaining shows of its time.However,there are 16 episodes of the series,mostly from the 3rd Season,that have end up in the public domain and that means that there are many different companies out there that are releasing the shows often at times with poor picture and sound or even removing the classic original theme music.But this UAV video package is one of those few.This video contains 10 out of the 16 public domain episodes of TAGS and all of the shows contain very innapropriate stock keyboard music,which makes the opening theme look like something off of Saturday Morning TV for Kids and it also ruins the whole atmosphere of the series!! I give this two stars,because both the picture and sound quality are superb,but ZERO for the opening and end credit music.Some years ago,UAV released a series of AUTHORIZED "Andy Griffith Show" episodes such as "A Christmas Story","Haunted House",and many other episodes and yes,all of those releases did contain the original theme music.Unfortunately,these videos are now out-of-print and are often considered collector's items! So I urge the AGS fans to avoid this tape at all costs and I strongly recommnend either the Platinum Disc or Brentwood DVD's of the series as they do outstanding jobs using better quality opening and closing music compared to this version!! I will never buy these shows from either UAV or Madacy or any other crappy distributor that puts out these great shows!! Avoid this and or any other AGS titles from UAV,period!!!

Good except for intro music
The episodes listed are good choices as the episodes are interesting and they span the main cast. The video quality is excellent, as is the sound. This can not be said of all Mayberry videos. The only detraction is that the video producer chose different but similar sounding intro music, presumably to avoid paying royalties on the music. This is practical, but how many of us buy Mayberry video's for practical reasons? My kids think this is the original music - a small but disappointing fact.

Overall, with well-chosen episodes, great quality images and sound, this is a good video for Andy fans and those with kids who want quality entertainment with traditional values. ... Read more

Herman's a big lovable frump.
I remember seeing this movie when I was a kid. I hadn't seen it in many years. How could you not love the comedy team of Gwynne and Lewis. From "Car 54, Where Are You" to Herman and Grandpa, they are as well matched as any of the great duo's. The one thing missing in this movie are the laugh tracks. Some people hate them. I think they were nostalgia for that time period. I realize this was a movie, but I feel the use of the laugh track was a big part of the TV show's success because there are some parts of this movie that needed it. Comments that were funny, but were dry and/or quiet because of it not being there. This movie is a full length continuation of the TV show. I also enjoyed being able to see them in color and finally getting to see their green skin. The black and white TV show is reminiscent of all the great original monster movie's of the 30's and 40's seen in that same format and another plus in my opinion to the show's success. The Munsters were and still are an enjoyable part of my life. Even my five year old grandson loves Herman. That's got to tell you something.

From a die hard Munsters fan...
I loved this movie, I am sure to watch it, with my children several more times this year! The kids were just introduced to the Munsters this year and it looks like this movie may have inducted a new generation of fans!

Good Family Fun
Fans of the sitcom will enjoy this film, in which the Munster family become involved in a series of oddball capers during a trip to England. The British cast members complement the TV cast quite well, making this a very funny film which the entire family can enjoy. Another interesting feature about this film is that, unlike the TV series, it is filmed in color, giving the viewer an opportunity to see the Munsters in all their delightfully ghoulish glory. This one is vastly superior to both the 1981 reunion film "Revenge of the Munsters" and the dreadful syndicated series, "The New Munsters" which has none of the attributes which made the original series a winner.
