5-0 out of 5 stars Very Suspenseful
Unknown actors and actresses (to me) ...but I thoroughly enjoyed the film. Some scenes were a little "far fetched" but that's what entertainment is all about ...huh??

5-0 out of 5 stars very suspenseful
this movie i think was excellent. i saw it on the action channel for the very first time and now ordered it on dvd. what a very good suspenseful film.a lot of action and a very good plot.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great movie
Enjoyed this movie. Only two glitches-the operative forgot to disengage the airliner skin sensor and any government man being tracked by NTS on a flight would not walk off the plane alone-especially with a head wound.

4-0 out of 5 stars If McClane was a woman
Don't judge a DVD on the cover! Air Rage's main character isn't Matthew Marshall (Ice-T) but the stewardess played by Kim Oja. Unlike most "feminine Die Hards", who are poor actresses spending most of the movie in the buff, Kim keeps her clothes on (except for a tame striptease at gunpoint) and shows us real acting talents, portraying a courageous, yet vulnerable, girl next door who finds herself fighting an elite force of rogue marines. Another good surprise are the characters' personnalities which are not caricatured (the only exception being the unbearable passenger). As for the script, despite many implausibilities, the suspense works well and some twists are really unpredictable. A good B-movie!

1-0 out of 5 stars air rage: you'll be raging too if u rent this stinker
air rage left me wanting to stick my head out the window and yell, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to RENT anymore". Ice-T stars as a good guy for a change in this combination rip off of Executive Decision/ Passenger 57. Fred Olen Ray directs (under one of his many Psuedonyms) incorporating initial test flight footage of the Boeing 747 as the plane hijacked by an ex marine (Colonel Sykes portrayed by Cyril O'Reilly) out for vengence against the judge who sentenced him to life at Leavenworth. Ice-T plays Marshall, who boards the plane via the exact same device used in Executive decision to save the passengers and Marine General who initially sentenced Sykes to jail. (Apparently all the Military transport planes and lear jets were full that day.) Ice and his band of horrifically inept "rescuers" get mowed down with aplomb by the bad guys in a close range firefight with machine guns that lasts a good thirty seconds(only Ice survives). Miraculously, none of the bullets goes through the fuselage, cockpit window or into the pilot. The bad guys in turn get picked off one at a time by a stewardess (one actually bashed to death with a coffee pot). The cast does a good enough job, but ultimately the film is brought down by a less than credible script wraught with holes big enough to fly a 747 through. Ray proves himself once again to be a master of stock footage, but this becomes one of the undoings of the film when footage of F-16s are shown while being referred to by people that should know as F-15s. Look for it soon at 3 AM on HBO. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Mediocre Monster Movie!
The movie begins with a space ship coming back from a journey into outer space. On this journey they have obtained spores from another planet.John Carradine uses these spores to make ayouth serum.Carradine dies. His assistant takes the serum to an aging movie star who injects it hoping to start landing leading roles again. So far this movie is lightweight. The movie star turns into a giant buglike creature. The most exciting segment takes place when the secretary goes skinny dipping in the pool and is killed by the buglike creature. The plot is bad,the acting is bad,the whole movie is bad.Buy this if you can find it on sale.

1-0 out of 5 stars [junky] spawn
My God, what a [junky] movie! I'm a lover of "B" rated horror movies and usually the campier the better, but if there's such a thing as a "E" of "F" rated movie this is it. The plot is obviously a ripoff of "The Wasp Woman", the special effects are practically non-exsistant, the monster is stupid looking, (I did like the teeth) and I've see better acting in porno movies. The only redeeming feature of this turkey is the physical appearance of the woman actors, the're for the most part pretty darn good looking. I could keep going, tearing this thing to shreds, but let me suffice to say I haven't seen a movie this bad since "Attack of the Mushroom People"

2-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT TOUCH!!!!
I happen to be a fan of Fred Olen Ray's movies, but you must fight all urges to buy this one, folks. First of all, the picture quality wasn't that great. I've seen worse, but it is poor quality and very grainy (which suprises me given the good quality of other Retro Media titles). Next, the acting is atrocious. I can usually deal with bad actors and actresses (as I said earlier, I'm a fan of Fred Olen Ray's movies) if the plot is decent enough or if the story is at least entertaining enough. But this is absolutely the worst movie I have ever seen! There are no, I repeat, no redeeming qualities in this movie. So, why did I give it two stars you ask? The extra materials, that's why. There are some pretty neat things on the rest of the DVD (such as Nite Owl Theater bloopers, outtakes of the movie, and, of course, a new episode of Nite Owl Theater). But believe me, it is not worth the price of the DVD. STAY AWAY!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars [Breasts] and Blood
I have always liked this film and saw it many years ago on cassette, but seeing the widescreen version is even better. This is a cheesy film starring sexy Bobbi Bresee as an actress who takes an aging drug and turns into an insect monster. Goofy as hell but VERY VERY enjoyable. Has some interesting things on the disc such as trailers, behind the scenes shots and another episode of Nite Owl Theater with Fred Olen Ray and Miss Kim. A highly recommended DVD that does not disappoint.

1-0 out of 5 stars Wish I could have seen it
I'd like to be able to write a review of this, but the widescreen DVD version didn't work in my home player or in my PC. After trying two copies with the same result, I gave up on it and picked up something else. There appears to be a problem with the widescreen release, buyer beware. This was very disappointing, as I'm a big fan of Nite Owl Theater and was looking forward to seeing this one. Maybe next time . . . ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Its Contagious !!!
I love this movie !!!! There are no flaws !!! It great !!!! I recommend it !!! If you dont watch it, I'll put snakes in your bed !!! So watch it already !!!
That is all .....

4-0 out of 5 stars Venomous
When you look at this DVD you may think that this is going to be one of those movies where there's a giant mutated snake that eats people. If you do, you're wrong. This is what you can call a "Realistic" movie. It is about when some rattlesnakes in a laboratory/workshop are left alive when two people blow the building up. The snakes make a den in the ground and there are small earthquakes from time to time so the snakes are forced to come to the surface. When they get there, one snake bites a farmer and he dies in the hospital. All the snakes start biting everyone in Sana Mira, California and they wipe out almost the entire population. One of the nurses claim in her studies that the desease is echoeli. It was sad w hen the dog and the little kitten and the elderly couple get killed. To me, it felt like the movie was way too short. There could have been more to the story. I'd like to see waht happens next if they come out with a Venomous 2. This movie is almost like a documentary. To my surprise there wasn't any gore. Otherwise, this movie is a pretty good scifi movie.

3-0 out of 5 stars MIS-TREATED
The career of Treat Williams has certainly been a circular one. After a brilliant start in the awesome "Prince of the City" and "Hair," this fine actor has gone from real bombs to mediocre material like "Venomous." Williams plays a loveably crusty middle-aged town doctor who is plunged into terror when a strange virus overtakes his small town. His estranged wife (Mary Page Keller) is a viral specialist in Washington and he is forced to bring her in as an assistant. The virus is caused by the bite of genetically mutated rattlesnakes, who escaped during a terrorist attack in 1990; of course the government wants their blunder kept secret. So the nasty government (under the auspices of the delightfully cool Tony Denison) decides to get rid of the town. There is some reasonably good suspense and the acting is above average. Hannes Jaeneke has a nice turn as Williams' studly assistant, who gets shot and we don't see any evidence of the shot in the following scene, but the bandage grows in the next two times we see him. It's directed by the prolific pseudonymned Fred Olen Ray (this time he's Ed Howard). It's not a bad movie, per se, just average and mildly entertaining.

2-0 out of 5 stars Scary not really !?
well i really wasn't expecting much , definely a D- movie good in spots but never a great one at that . the effects are cool in places , but if you're looking for a real horror movie then go somewhere else the actress that plays the doctor so much more capable of better roles then this sorry one, i wish they would have spend more time on it,starts off cool then loses steam.

P.S. if you just want to see snakes moving around then rent it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad at all !
Sure, it is very similar to Wolfgang Petersen's Outbreak, about deadly virus carried by rattlesnakes. But the stars, Treat Williams and Mary Page Keller make this movie fairly entertaining. Director Fred Olen ray provides a great audio commentary throughout the movie that is very informative and entertaining. The DVD itself is OK. Sharp and clear picture and quite good Dolby 5.1. Too bad, Fox charges way too high for this B movie DVD but it worths at least a rental. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Full moon's best ever!!
The movie takes place a great carnival. The group of teens go out on a double date and dr.graves one by one starts to give them what they always wanted!!If you like this take a look at the dead hate the living by full moon!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Yawn.
Slow and talky; no thrills, no chills. For something better or at least more fun in the genre, go with the original, Freaks, or try Freaked, or Mutations (a.k.a. The Freakmaker).

2-0 out of 5 stars A Freakish Journey
I gave this film a rating of two out of five stars. I think the idea of a circus sideshow, complete with grotesque freaks is a terribly wonderful idea. Although there are fewer and fewer traveling circus' displaying freaks these days, the topic is wide open for horror interpretations. I enjoyed a couple of the characters, but thought that overall this film could have been given a little more life with better writing and directing. This film should have had a grittier atmosphere and more gore. For a superior film about traveling circuses, I would recommend Something Wicked This Way Comes. I gave this film two stars out out five, although ti was somewhat closer too a 1.5 on a five star scale. If you can rent it, as for buying it...thats up to you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great thriller...all of the sudden ending!
A well-done horror flick, kind of in the same vain as The Funhouse (1981). The ending was kind of unexpected, I won't give away the plot... I'm still trying to tie it in with the ending of the film. The most attractive person in the film is in a wheelchair...thats a different twist, not expected. Well- done sets and costumes, great sideshow acts. It has the guy from Ghoulies 2 in it...he's always a crowd pleaser. Great flick! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars A Joke
"Critical Mass" is so bad that it is actually enjoyable. There are so many holes in this plot that one wonders if there was actually a director assigned to the project. The basic plot centers around terrorists who steal nuclear material to make a bomb and then take over a nuclear power facility to blow it up. Amid numerous explosions and even a nice truck/bus chase in the high desert are enough plot holes to keep most movie audiences in hysterics. My favorite was in the Pentagon where top military brass are discussing the terrorist. The camera does a closeup of the dossier showing the actor's picture playing the terrorist. The next line is, "The terrorist, whose face is unknown..." Why tell us his face is unknown just after showing us his face? We had to replay this moment and then pause the DVD so my wife could stop laughing. Her favorite moment was when the terrorists are stealing the nuclear material and are walking around the facility. The leader has a little piece of notepaper which he keeps looking at about 7 times, as if he couldn't find his way up the stairs without looking at his paper. I wondered if maybe he had his lines printed there. Then you've got Andrew Prine playing a pompous state senator who is shooting an election commercial at the power plant when the terrorists attack. Prine and his lovely press secretary run for the door with security guard Treat Williams while the rest of the camera crew and reporters stand there allowing themselves to be shot. As the terrorists are running around the facility with automatic weapons looking for the them, Prine starts shouting at Williams in full voice. This happens repeatedly with the terrorists just inches away, but of course the shouting never attracts them. Also, when the bad guys get shot, none of the good guys picks up their weapons. Another moment is when Williams has captured and tied up a terrorist and sticks the Senator's tie in his mouth. Most people would just be able to take their tongue and push the tie out of their mouth and call for help; but this terrorist must sit there for 15 minutes until his buddy rescues him. You may enjoy replaying the moment where Andrew Prine steps on the explosive and is hurled through the air with a ball of fire. Most people would be burned or maimed, but Prine just winds up dead with a bit of fake blood on his nose. This is one of those movies where the plot is so bad that you can enjoy it as one of the most wonderfully incompetent films you're likely to run across. Another thing I like about the DVD is the special features. The only special feature is some previews of other films I never heard of. When you push it to watch the previews, it starts playing "Critical Mass" again. Have a laugh, you won't do much else with this clinker! Taxi! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Was Anybody Really Expecting a Great Movie???
Pretty typical B-movie fare. Sorority girls are being bumped off at their 5 Year Reunion(like anyone would actually go). Anyway, it's up to 2 miscast actors playing detectives to unmask the killer. Basic stuff.
This one tries to be more of a police thriller than a slasher flick(not a wise move), though all the trappings are in place for an old school horror bloodbath. You've got your bikini bimbos, a masked killer, and a fair amount of blood; yet this falls short of being a satisfying outing. I guess the main problem is that the victims solely exist to be offed. We have no emotional attatchment to any of them. Too much time is spent on the detectives and their investigation.
Oh, well. Nobody really goes into these movies expecting to be knocked out of their seat. They go to be entertained, which this film manages to do at least some of the time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Aaaaaaahhhhhhh, cheese
If this film took itself seriously at all, we would have a problem. Luckily, this is the type of cheesy b-movie fare that one can sit back and enjoy. Everything about it is absurd and it revels in it.

The film starts out with a cop swindling some drug dealers. He gets chased after they get wise. The car chase is actually pretty decent but there's an added bonus: It changes from raining to not raining randomly. Of course the cop catches hell from his boss (a character named Hugh Janus) as he's the rogue-ish type. However, it was the cop who was being chased. How can that be his fault? Luckily, it doesn't matter in the least as the consequence is a transfer from the LAPD to Hawaii. Cut to a scene of expository dialogue. We soon find that a sorority is having its reunion on the Big Island.

The bad-boy cop finds his new partner appealing. How do we know this? Because he fantasizes about her swimming! They must now find out who is bumping off the sororstitutes before all of them bite it. It shouldn't be too hard given that all of the clues point exactly to one person throughout the entire film. Through a series of events too stupid to recount, the killer is apprehended, or is he? Or is she? Or are they?

The dialogue is better than say, Matrix: Revolutions but it isn't anything exceptional. There are a few decent jokes ("It's pretty thin." "Yeah it's downright bulimic.") to pass the time between sex scenes and lunacy. The sex scenes are in no way erotic to anyone other than a fifteen-year-old male but like the rest of the film, they're fun. One of them features a woman who walks like an android trying to walk sexy but the program isn't quite right so it comes off as terribly awkward instead.

This films showcases; people who get bloodied and bruised for no good reason before a car chase; cops who can't hold guns; a family of revenge-driven psychos; gratuitous blood in one scene; name-dropping of b-film legends; and sorority girls on a five-year reunion. Sounds like a winner to me. The plot twists in this are as predictable as VH1's playlist yet in the last few moments the nonsense starts to pile up in a lovely fashion. Each further twist to the film induces a groan but also a grin, as does much of the dialogue. It's a pretty bad film but a great guilty pleasure.

1-0 out of 5 stars simply awful...
Awful play, awful dialogs, actors sound the same, all emotions are the same. In my opinion it's an awful movie... I stopped the DVD after watching the first hour.

1-0 out of 5 stars Final Examination
I'll have to agree with Izzie, this was the absolute WORST movie I have ever seen. Can you say cheese?....I mean really,it was literally the most poorly written film of all time! If there was an award for that now they might stand a chance...oh wait! The Raspberries, theres an award worthy of this masterpiece (of crap). Happy viewing, but really, dont waste your dollar.

p.s. You know a film is going to be a winner when one of the characters name is Hugh Janus...I was waiting for his partner I.P Freely to show up.

1-0 out of 5 stars Final Examination puts the s,u,c and k in suck
Self castration would be preferable to viewing this masterpiece of suckedness. You are sure to sustain massive eye injury due to the vicious amounts of eye rolling required to endure this horiffic tragedy. So please, before viewing this muck, blind yourself with hot fireplace pokers. You'll thank yourself later. Fred Olen Ray should be required to take hours off his lifespan and return them to the victims that suffered this calamity. Only would that I could express how much I loathed Final Examination. ...
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent softcore, A+ hotties
One of the best softcore porn flicks out there, 2 main hotties get it on in multiple scenes. Only one small minus no women-women scenes. This movie is a must buy, a great flick, don't pass it off because Amazon does not feature a cover preview. There is basically non-stop women action in this one, from the beginning to the end, a must buy, I also recommend Femalien! peace...

4-0 out of 5 stars If you like Vampire Chicks, buy this one!
First, Night Shade breaks no new ground. It is a movie that opens with a steamy remembrance scene that let us know how much the main character loved his late wife, and goes on to reveal that she isn't quite dead. Hmmm...

X rated for for the explicit sex scenes, there is a fair amount of vampire action in Night Shade, which I had to wait a long time to see. But the characters are interesting, or laughable (particularly the police detective), and the vampiresses get to do their stuff more than once in the film, so I was left with a good impression. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Next to 16 candles, the greatist teenage thril ride ever!
Now believe me common citizens, when a movie comes along socaptivating and so "real", it makes you wonder, how those big fat cat hollywood writters can sleep with the ideas in their head. This film, stud hunted or hunter (there is a piece of masking tape over the copy i got over the mail)is probably the next great american masterpiece since baywatch nights! roderick mcdowell is convincing as the blind-villian that lives in the open-doored community of Westwood, with a gun rack on his wall. But the thing that shines about this movie is the 4 teenage actors who are overly convincing as the teenagers. Most of all, the characters interact with the bad guy, before they get chased by his evil robot, and they didnt even know it HAHA, why can't other movies put this plot twist in their films? I don't know, but anyway, go buy this movie, its a classic!

5-0 out of 5 stars Get off your *** and rent this movie! You're wasting keylars
As President of the Screen Actor's Guild, I must say I am dissapointed with many individuals inability to look past literality and find the underlying philosophy that fuels the success and cult phenomenon of this film. When Roddy McDowall appears on the Star Hunter's device and informs him when he kills someone, I am reminded of our former Presdent Dwight Eisenhower's farewell address when he left the office of President. The Star Hunter itself is a representation of beurecracy in today's America. Watch out or the Star Hunters (Senators) will get you! You're wasting keylars; go rent this fine film. Just so you know, I nominated the film's Carol O'Conner-like actor who played the disgruntled policeman.

1-0 out of 5 stars WORST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN
THIS MOVIE IS SO BAD ITS FUNNY!!!! Fillled with many errors (Including osme reused stock footage, (godawful) battle scenes that take no more then 5 minutes but span over night and day as day turns to night as the camera switches views) TERRIBLE ACTING tops it all off, with FAKE weapons (cap guns) RENT IT FOR THE LAUGHS. Also, watch the bus driver's hat. it has an emblem on it (a "S" i think) and at different times in the movie the "S" dissappears and reappears..

5-0 out of 5 stars Never ride a school bus in a deserted neighborhood at nite!
I have watched this movie and find it excellent! Roddy McDowall looks cool with sunglasses on but I would rather see his big brown eyes! He plays his part very well! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst Movie In All History of All Planets of All...
I rented this because of Michael Dudikoff. I realize his career is on the skids, and he'll agree to any job, but this is just awful.

I cant count the number of times I saw stock footage. They stole a scene from "Space Camp" where the NASA computer was calculating the chances of thermal curtain failure. You can even seen Jinx in the reflection. I also saw the F16/F15 swap. And what about the Space Shuttle scenes where it's the Enterprise, the Columbia, and the Atlantis?

There was a budding romance that quickly ended in the vacuum of space right when it was getting interesting. They also blew up the shuttle in the fakest explosion I've ever scene. Looks like a sparkler. The same goes for when they blew up the station. And what about the artificial gravity? I might have believed it of the station (even though it wasnt rotating), but they had this space elevator that also had artificial gravity. It was just killing me. And this is a recent film!

Doctor Who was far better filmed. This movie now rates worse than "Clockwork Orange" and "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask". I demanded my money back when I took it back to Blockbuster, and they gave it to me. This movie should be reported to someone for copyright infringement. Space Camp was never listed amongst the credits.

1-0 out of 5 stars The Art of Black Horizon
This was one of the worst movies I've seen. I couldn't even watch it. In the opening scene, the footage where Ice T jumps out of the black truck on to the truck with pipes is the EXACT same footage from The Art of War. This movie is terrible, crap and should not have been made. If you spent money to buy it, you got reamed.

1-0 out of 5 stars Makes "Queen of Outer Space" look high-budget!
Horrible movie. Begins with a drug bust then suddenly, those characters disappear and you're on a space station. Totally unrealistic. The "space station" has passageways like a Vegas casino. In one scene, a hero takes off in an F-16 and suddenly, they're flying in an F-15. It's as though no one really cared about these blunders. Asteroid impacts seem depicted by the sparks of a grinder on metal. While I couldn't watch the entire movie, I'll bet it ended in a submarine. I think I'll go watch Plan 9 from Outer Space. At least it's funny.

1-0 out of 5 stars Just a waste
If you are looking for something sexually exciting, then this ain't it. I'm looking at it now on HBO & it's pathetic.

1-0 out of 5 stars How Bad Is Bad?
This flick is soooo bad that:
--the sex is boring;
--the acting reminds one of that first-grade play we all had to endure;
--the actors act like they don't care;
--the plot is nonsense;
--even the kinky stuff -- one drawn-out sex scene spliced with girl-on-girl s&m -- rates a yawn.

Advice: Don't waste your money on this dribble. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Mob Boss
MOB BOSS tries very hard to be funny, and, at times, succeeds. A send up of the gangster/organized crime genre, it chronicals the growth of a dying mob boss's nerdy son from the day he is pulled out of military academy to the time he becomes head of an organized crime syndicate. How funny you will find this depends greatly on how you view low brow humor (e.g. child being baptised urinating on pastor and mob officials), as well as if you are watching for the women (Morgan Fairchild, Brinke Stevens--who's a delight), and, subsequently, the nude scenes. I enjoyed it, and found parts amusing (such as when Eddie Deezen drops his gun into a restroom toilet), though it is most certainly not for all tastes. I feel that it would be worth a rental to most, but you'd have to decide for yourself if you want to buy it. ... Read more
