Maybe the best T.V. comedy of the early Sixties; very smart!
Car 54, Where are you? is an extremely clever, absolutely hilarious sitcom about the misadventures of the officers in a mythical precinct in the Bronx circa 1961.

Vaudeville style humor and intelligent writing are the trademarks of this series.

Fred (Herman Munster) Gwynne, and Joe E. Ross are the stars. Their contrasting personalities and intellects are the central point of the humor.

The first episodes, (Vol. 1) are about the funniest videos this fan has ever seen. The staccato silliness, and the absurd situations make for great 25 minute viewing.

Currently, Amazon carries Vol. 1 - 6. It would be a real treat to find the subsequent seasons which added Al Lewis (Granpa Munster), and Larry Storch of "F Troop" fame. Lewis as one of the officers, and Storch as the town drunk.

All in all, one could do a lot worse for $8.99. ... Read more

"Muldoon's Star": One Of The Funniest TV Episodes Ever!
"Muldoon's Star" could be the funniest TV episode ever. A brilliant spoof of Marylin Monroe it features some dialouge and scenes that are beyond hysterical including 2 scenes involving Fred Gynne and a milk bottle. Also listen for the pair of nice old ladies near the beginning who totally dead pan say: Lady 1:"Wasnt that Gunther Toody ripping the dress off a beautiful blonde?" Joe E. Ross, Fred Gwynne, Al Lewis and a talented group of actors made Car 54 one of the most funny and original shows of the 60's. Its humor has withstood the test of time.
