Wood meets Harry
this movie was a sensational film !!! I loved the entire film in itself because Elijah Woods is to me one of the most incredable actors of the 21st Century . He plays such an awesome role as this 17 year old boy just trying to deal with life as a teen and a horn dog too =-) I loved the part with Deborah "Blondie" Harry as Ma Mabley where she tries to seduce young Elijah ( all men should be so lucky in real life to have that happen to them ) . Mandy Moore did pretty fair acting in this film and Elizabeth Perkins was great in the film as well . I would seriously recommend this film to all an A+ film in my book .
Actually 3 1/2 stars
I was highly skeptical of this film for many reasons, none of which I will bore you with here. Being an EW fan, I was too curious to pass on this one, so I rented it from my friendly nieghborhood video store. I am surprised I liked it so much because I went into it with extremely low expectations. Elijah Wood (Dillon Jones) plays a quirky 17 year-old college drop-out (with his usual charm) who is looking for the love and acceptance he never got from his selfish parents. He moves into an apartment building and makes friends with it's equally quirky tenants. Brad was my favorite, played wonderfully by Aaron Pearl. Debbie Harry did surprisingly well as Ma Mabley who takes a liking to Jones when he goes to her furniture store. The "dream sequence" with her is slightly disturbing though and shouldn't be viewed by anyone with a weak stomach. The "R" rating is more for the language than the sexuality which is quite mild by today's standards. Mandy Moore and Franka Potente turn in adequate performances as Jones on and off love interests. If you're looking for a good indie film, this is worth a rent at least.
No Point
I watched All I want, and it was all I wanted. It's a film with weird characters, the weirdest was Wood's fantasy imagination. The movie goes nowhere and is a 93 minute mess.
predictable ending, but still a captivating film
Elijah Wood plays Jones, a 17-year-old with mommy issues in the sense that mommy won't tell him about long-absent daddy. He moves into a boarding house and pays a year's rent upfront. Then he gets to know Lisa (Mandy Moore), the starlet wannabe; Jane, the photographer who maces him when she meets him, and Steve, the homosexual painter in the cowboy hat, who comes to Jones' rescue from the landladies' sons and proves to be probably one of his best friends ever.
It's a good script, interesting twists and turns to the plot. Definitely worth a look.
Very BoRiNg!
This movie was so boring it was a drag to watch, it was cheezy too but I saw worst but I SURE saw better. If you are a fan of Elijah Wood or Mendy Moore I guess you will like this movie but I sure didn't!
