1-0 out of 5 stars Pure Rocky Road Trash! It doesn't deserve a star!
I can't believe I watched the whole thing! This is a HUGE load of pants! It's so bad it's on my top ten list of worst movies of all time.Joe Lara is a great actor but he was COMPLETELY wasted! Every other actor was just plain awful. They were reduced to such garbage. The script and storyline are seriously PADDED! And Joe looked like a major fag in that white leotard.I must admit that the FX were decent, but the film is sooooooooooo terrible. It's as boring as hell and is so heinous that it's laughable. The makers of this movie should go to a maximum security facility and a million dollar fine! The film is far too gory and the body count is WAY too high. What a pathetic waste! Rated R-contains gruesome, gory violence, strong profanity and a scene of strong sexuality.

1-0 out of 5 stars A waste!
Shame on Joe for wasting his fabulous talent in this movie!Decoda was undeveloped, and not the brightest. As a cop, he should've done his job not beg permission to dispatch Slash from Jamison who was a total idiot.Only after being hologrammed did Decoda get the job done when he could've taken care of him much sooner! The fight scenes and seeing Joe in a beard changing his look made this movie barely palatable. He looked horrid in that white leatard because white is just not his color and it was just too tight in certain places. The only redeeming quality was his destroying Slash which in my opinion took too darn long. How dare Evan Lurie give his character substance and leave the others to suffer. Evan Lurie who wrote this movie should've given himself a ticket! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars You can find something better to do with your time
Sexy but untalented Emmanuelle Vaugier plays a psychic FBI agent (no, we haven't seen too many of those) who must confront the aftermath of the government program that produced her. Aside from the uninspired direction, the dull screenplay, and the underwhelming performances, it's not a bad film. It's always depressing to see quality performers such as Eric Roberts, Clarence Williams, and Michael Moriarty slumming in substandard product. I would include the dependable Michael Ironside in that list, but hasn't he built his career on this kind of thing?

2-0 out of 5 stars Mind blow
I wish I could say a few nice things about this movie, but I can't. 'Mind storm' is a sad attempt at a psychic thriller. At best this would have been an ok late, very late night TV show on an obscure cable channel. Ok here is the set up; a govt, experiment to give children psychic abilities goes awry and years later comes back to bite some of the same govt officials in the back side. One of the kids grows up to be a cop working to help find missing children. She is played by Emmanuelle Vaugier. She is very sexy, but sadly can't act to save her life. Her half way partner, played by Antonio Sabato Jr needs to go back to Soap acting. Maybe they both do? There were a few high points. Michael Ironside plays the Senator. He always makes a great bad guy. Clarence Williams III player Emmanuelle's adoptive father, and William B Davis (of the X-files) makes a guest appearance as the head mad scientists. Eric Roberts plays the reincarnated childhood friend. Man, what happened to him after 'Runaway train'? The story was weak, as was most of the acting. The sets looked cheap and the special FX were low budget. I say stay away from this one.
Sorry to say but this was a real stinker. I only give it 2 stars because of Ironside and Clarence Williams... ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Loads of fun, an awful movie that one should see
I have a feeling that the producers made this movie hoping that the audience would be making fun of it while whatching, in which case it is very entertaining. the fight scenes get gradually better as the movie moves along with the first fights being slower and lousier and the ending fights being really awesome.

this movie stars one of wrestlings great superstars "The Ultomate Warrior" now known as Jim Hellwig. Dispite his gargantuan muscles he is a long way off from a martial artist. this come from pro wrestling where an athlete must telegraph to 10,000 people at a time and everyone must know whats happening as opposed to martial arts where faster is better, an inabilaty to identify each move is an advantage. though the mixture of the pro wrestling style and Gary daniels's (fist of the north star/bloodmoon) martial arts style makes a unique flavor.

This movie has a plot that only children could really love. a police officer argues with his wife three times in the movie about how he needs to finish his assighnment even though he wants to spend time with his wife and child. yet when his wife is killed before he even finds out he becomes romantically involved with a prostitute and his child simply becomes irrelivent and phases out of reality as the movie credits roll.

this is cool if you watch it with freinds or if you really love fight scenes. I am glad I bought this movie but I wouldnt give it any compliments past the fight and training scenes. one last comment, this movie contains the only fight scene I have ever seen in my life where nunchucku are used correctly.

2-0 out of 5 stars Firepower makes Daniels lose his his head
I watched Firepower because I admire Gary Daniels as an actor. He has delivered great films throughout his career, but Chad McQueen, in my opinion, didn't deserve the lead role in the movie. Daniels as Sledge loses his head in a classic Death Ring fight to former wrestling superstar The Ultimate Warrior. Then, McQueen's character finds his foes has killed his wife. Since McQueen has already been flirting around with another woman, he must fight to get her back. Where is the common sense in this film? McQueen has a family and he's messing around, while the guy with no family, Daniels, loses his head after volunteering to go undercover in the hellzone. This futuristic movie has no direction and in the beginning a zebra painted older model Camaro is described as a blue 1998 Chevy. Also, the Chevy vans modeled as the futuristic police cars were also hilarious in futuristic terms. The only two things that I observed as doing justice for the film were the futuristic tank-like bus and the police motorcycles with gadgets. In my opinion, leave the future-based movies alone, most are chaotic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Firepower the greatest death ring movie of all time
Firepower is one of the best films in it's genre. This is a movie that has very little plot but is huge on action. It is one of the best "Deathring" movies of all time... The hellzone is certainly a highlight as well as the "futuristic cop car" aka the chevy lumina van... ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite alien films...
I enjoy watching this movie. I woke up at 4AM to tape this movie on Cinemax years ago. I just wish for a reasonably-priced VHS for sale or, even better, a Region 1 DVD release...

This movie may be a little cheesy at times, but I really enjoyed it. The special effects are great and (i believe that) the story is closer to fact, especially concerning the "sender" gene...

I'd recommend you buy this (if you can even find it)!

5-0 out of 5 stars ADRENALINE KICKER
EPICENTER kicks off in high gear and maintains a frenetic pace that keeps the adrenaline pumping....and that's all I ask from a B action thriller. I don't expect great acting, or deep psychological motivations. This is a great popcorn movie. And some other interesting things about it:
*Gary Daniels, like fellow martial arts actors Chuck Norris, David Bradley, etc., will never win any Oscars. But this ruggedly handsome and quite different actor shows a deep desire to at least put as much as he can into his performance. In this one, he relies on this ability rather than his martial arts. He doesn't take his shirt off at all, and he has only one real fight scene, which is very brief.
*Traci Elizabeth Lords likewise won't make the world forget Meryl Streep or Sigourney Weaver, but given her background, her ability to rise even this far is commendable.
*It was good to see venerable character actor Henry Beckman again. As the old codger trapped in the elevator with the two kids, he and his parrot reminded me of those great older movies where actors like Beckman played such a fun, integral part.
*And in spite of everything, the movie has a happy ending without the lovers consummating their relationship.
It's a fundamentally adrenaline rush!

1-0 out of 5 stars Attn: Studio exec's - EPICENTER is stealing from you!
EPICENTER commits one of the worst crimes I've ever seen commited by a film and it's creators. What's that crime you ask? Stealing! I don't blame the screenwriter. I don't blame Gary Daniels (I mean for a "B" action star he usually makes decent "B" action fare) but I do blame whoever used the scenes from METRO with Eddie Murphy and the train sequences from MONEY TRAIN and the elevator scene from SPEED. Don't beleieve me? Watch this, then watch METRO and the other movies mentioned. I thought I was the only one who would notice this but apparently I am not. It's that freaking obvious! The whole beginning chase scene is from METRO. They added two bad guy characters to focus on just because Eddie Murphy and Michael Rappaport were their stand ins. I think it's absolute bull---- that the stunt men for METRO and teh special effcets people for SPEED and MONEY TRAIN didnt get paid twice. I mean, technically they worked on this stupid waste of celluloid and didnt even receive credit (not that they'd want it) for it. This film is ridiculous! Stealing scenes from another movie is, in my opinion, the laziest, cheapest, worst thing that could be done in a film. I've already seen METRO - why would I want to see the same exact chase again? I mean, if you don't have the money to make your own movie then don't make it and like director Robert Rodriguez said, if you've written something in your script that you cant afford to shoot...rewrite the script!

Skip this movie -- It isnt worth the one star...

4-0 out of 5 stars Great fun !
Okay - so a former porn star is the leading actress. This is a smart and fun filled action adventure film. I didn't expect to like this film, but I actually loved it. The dialouge was witty, the special effects were amazing and the entire story line was not only entertaining but engrossing as well. I found myself glued to the set. And surprisingly, except for a couple of scenes (possibly thrown in for tongue in cheek emphasis) Lords does a darn good job herself. This film is worth your time and one you will find yourself watching again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Epicenter - Great Action Movie

Very good special effects, but mediocre acting. Only true professional appears to be Governor Quincy played by Dave Aranda-Richards, and the so-called director kills him off and the acting then gets ridicoulsly bad.
