5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent down to earth movie
This is one of the most underrated movies in war movie history. The acting may be shabby but the action scenes are well done. Platoon Leader is down to earth and straight to the point, war is hell but this is worse. This movie is a classic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Platoon Leader-Great Movie
This is perhaps the most underated movie based on vietnam experiences ever produced. Much ,much Better than seige of firebase gloria that was simple poorly done with tons of phoney scenes. This movie is GREAT! How someone can state there is no story line is simply ridiculas. A great story...a great cast...no phoney combat scenes...a great ending and greatly directed. What more can you ask for. No body in the movie is playing "Rambo" and for good reason because if you did in real life you'd be dead. The movie is for real and very, very interesting. If you want hollywood watch Rambo...if you want a realistic movie concerning a platoon protecting a village in vietnam during the vietnam war... watch this. A green LT that goes by the book who at first was an outsider soon relizes that listening to his men and NOT going by the book is the real life way to deal with the situation he and his men were up against in vietnam protecting a village and their firebase. He earns his leadership and the respect of his men and takes charge of what they called. "The country club"(The firebase). The movie also sports one of the best multi helicoptor assult scenes ever done on film. Based on real facts, very realistic and is a movie that can be watched more than once.

Having never been in Vietnam myself, but in the Army in the 70s, I explained offhand to a young 26 year old man how herion was a huge problem in Vietnam, how a lot of GIs came back hooked.
He understnadably could not understand how people got hooked on herion of all things in a combat zone.
I thought of the herion death scene in Platoon leader, and remebered by and large it was a terrific movie.Thats why I found it on Amazon and ordered it, mostly to show him our current troubles seem insignificant to the fatalities suffered then.
I havent seen the movie in gee, 15 years? Ive never forgotten it, tho.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Platoon Leader" Overlooked
A fine war picture which shows the struggles of a platoon in Vietnam. Their leader gets a wake up call on assignment sending him to the hospital and realizes the importance of life (sacred). Michael Dudikoff is once again a genius and this movie is not on DVD. What's with MGM? Please put all of the Cannon movies on DVD right now.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dosent even deserve 1 star
Without a doubt one of the most pathetic films ever made. Extreamly bad acting, Stupid camera angles, Most of the time you cant tell what is happening. The transforming from animals to humans vice vera is the worst effect ever, Basicly you see a bird flying and in the next shot (About a second after) the hairy chuck norris is standing there. Punches look so fake its amazing, Incredibly bad directing makes it look like a 9 year old could of done better if he went into the woods with a cam-corder and some pals. The budget is obvisly tighter than an italien waiters trousers and the only reason chuck norris is in the movie is beocouse the film was made by his brother aron nossis! I really really, really really recomend not buying this film.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
This is one of Chuck's best movies. I have seen it on television several times and enjoyed each and every time I just saw it again today and hoped I could find it to buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Chuck Norris-Taking charge as protector of the forest
The "Walker, Texas Ranger" star turns in another spectacular performance. How he continues to be passed up for major awards is a mystery to me, especially after this complex role. In this he plays a mytical warrior who can assume the shapes of many animals. He battles evil loggers with his incredibly slow martial arts moves. It appears that as Norris nears his 78th birthday he may have lost a step or two. Aiding Norris in his quest to battle the loggers were a group of kids known as "the green weenies" by the evil loggers. The rebel tactics they employed were remarkably similar to the Wolverines in "Red Dawn" (read my review for that incredible film). In one incredible scene, one of the younger members flooded the walkie talkies of the evil loggers with an 80's rock tune. This caused the loggers to become distracted from their duty as they begin using their deadly chainsaws as guitars. In my opinion this was a briiliant strategy on the part of the greenie weenies. Back to Norris and his convincing role. He plays the role of a convincing leader when he orders a girl to "sleep." Alas, i was not able to finish the movie because one of the people i was watching the movie with had terrible hygiene and i could not stand the stench. I was disheartened by this fact but even not seeing the no doubt orgasmic ending cannot dissuade me from proclaiming that this is the best movie ever...well besides Dracula 2000 (read my friend Quito's review).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great For Families
I learned about Chuck Norris from my 7-year old grandson back in August 98. Mr. Norris's betrayal of the "Spirit of The Mountain" is in keeping with his own Native American heritage. The violence is low-key compared to many of his other movies. It has raised an awareness in my grandchildren of environmental control, protection of wild animals, and a very keen interest in learning more of their own Native American background. I would definitely recommend it to any family. My 4-year old granddaughter also gets the story and idea behind the movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent, suspenceful, a most memorable film.
After seing this movie once, I had to watch it again, and again. I love it, and it is now one of my favriot movies. It demonstrates true friendship, and shows grate sceneary views of the forrest. The child actors were very good, and real beleivable. I will never forget this movie. It's great for familys. Chuck Norris was really good, and that's the first movie i've seen him in, even though I heard about him. I definately recomend this movie. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Often silly, very gory, never scary...
Maybe a three-star is being too nice, but I did kind of like this film. The special effects are good for its time and the story is somewhat interesting, but it's just not that memorable. Pinhead and the Cenobites return to wreak havoc on a mental hospital. Sort of like "Nightmare on Elm Street 3" only with Pinhead and instead of preadolescent kids it's, well, adolescent kids. Some neat visuals make this film an interesting watch, but it doesn't do much in the scares department.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the best in Hellraiser series, but no extra scenes
For those of you looking for the "Kirsty's room scene" and the "surgery room scene," do not buy this video. When it said "no longer produced" I thought that maybe this vid had the surgery scene in it, but it does not. It doesn't even have Kirsty's room scene in it. I have no idea why it is no longer being produced unless there is something I missed when I watched it, because I did not watch it straight through, I was fast fowarding and rewinding to find the new scenes.

4-0 out of 5 stars Braddock goes back to Vietnam one last time.
The final Missing in Action adventure is really just a remake of the first film, with a family oriented twist. When Colonel James Braddock (Chuck Norris) discovers that the girlfriend he believed dead is not only still alive, but that he had fathered a son as well, it takes him all of a millinanosecond to start preparing yet another single handed sneak attack on the PRV to get them out of there. Chuck's longtime stunt co-ordinator brother Aaron made his directing debut with this formula movie and he didn't do that bad of a job. Norris fans will find this hard to dislike.

4-0 out of 5 stars Some of the best Chuck 'Hand to Hand' combat
Amongst all the generally ropey films that Chuck made with Cannon, this is one of the best.

Blistering action, excellent hand to hand combat scenes and pacey throughout, this film is not only essential for a Chuck fans but also for those who enjoy a no-holds-barred beat-em up with plenty of pyrotechnics for good measure.

5-0 out of 5 stars What happen to Braddock after he had been caught by Vietcong

5-0 out of 5 stars Stunning!!!!!!
In my career as a movie reviewer, I have seen many films but I have to tell you, Hellbound tops it off. This is a great movie that is serious and humurous at the same time. Chuck Norris is spectacular and Christopher Neame plays a horrifying role. Go watch it.

1-0 out of 5 stars This film bit the big one!
This is one of the worst in a long line of terrible Chuck Norris films. If you liked the Missing in Action series or maybe the Original Delta Force, don't waste your time with this one. If you're thrilled with the fabulous storylines of Forest Warrior and Top Dog then by all means waste your hard earned money on this movie. There was a reason this film was shelved for two years before it went straight to video, IT SUCKED!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Oh mercy please!
Even the most die hard Chuck fans could not have helped being majorly disappointed by this all time low from Cannon. The pic starts pleasingly enough and even hints at some vague form of a budget but before long we're in Israel (cheaper to film there) and then it all falls apart.

We could forgive the crappy 70's Chuck films because of the superior fight scenes but these are not in evidence in this effort that deserves never to be seen again. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars 2 1/2 Stars - No Redeeming Features
This is typical Chuck Norris fare. One needs to suspend belief during the entire "experience".

Chuck is a police detective betrayed and left for dead by his partner. After the shooting, we next see Chuck some years later working as some nebulous enforcer for a local mob. Chuck kills people with equanimity, something for which the law has little tolerance regardless of how much the bad guys deserve it. Chuck shows no respect to his police superior, and gets away with it. Except for infiltration, there seems to be little purpose in his underground work.

He lives in an apartment building and gives out his key to a kid down the hall. His sense of what is safe doesn't seem to be much of a concern. Everyone knows where he lives, even the mob boss' wife, played by Alberta Watson in a wasted role. However she and Chuck lust after each other and when her husband finds out, he decides to kill Chuck, otherwise the movie was going nowhere fast. Now everyone decides to kill everyone. There are 3 gangs involved, one of them Iranian and since this was in '91 when the Gulf War was going on, it's easy to make them bad guys.

Chuck's acting is pretty bad, but not as bad as some of his early stuff. Michael Parks does a reasonable job as the former partner who resurfaces for the obligatory revenge climax. Al Waxman, as the mob boss, does the best he can with the part as written.

I buy these action movies for exercising on a stationary rowing machine. I put the movie on, turn the sound off (a major improvement) and glaze my eyes over as I do my workout without being too bored by the repetitive motion of the exercising machine. I always hope there will be another reason to watch these "action" movies. With this movie, I can't imagine ever watching it with the sound on.

Not a movie for most women.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of Chuck's best films!
"The Hit Man" is one of my favorite Chuck Norris movies, primarily because of the complexity of the character he portrays. On the one hand, he is a cold-blooded, heartless, murderous brute who can blow away a cohort from point-blank range without batting an eye; on the other hand, he shows a genuine caring and depth of feeling that is completely opposite from the hit man persona. The film is quite violent, and one scene showing the revenge of one mob against the other shouldn't be viewed by anyone with a weak stomach. But fans of Chuck will be kept entertained from beginning to end. And the bad guy gets his just reward in the most perfect way in the end. ... Read more

Fans of Walker, Texas Ranger, martial-arts veteran Chuck Norris's small-screen alter ego, get their fill of danger, uplift, and karate moves in Team Cherokee, a feature-length version of a two-part story line.As Cordell Walker, Norris strides stoically through a typical series plot casting the Rangers as avenging angels foiling racism, greed, and their foes' Miranda rights in the name of fair play, set against the backdrop of NASCAR racing. As always, Walker and his buffed comrades solve plot lapses or flat dialogue with flying kicks, whirling elbows, and a soft-boiled idealism that synthesizes liberal tolerance, good-old-boy camaraderie, and a weakness for collarless shirts.

A string of track victories by a Native American team of car racersgoads the ruthless, redneck circuit champs to resort to intimidation, sabotage, and commercially sanctioned road rage at triple-digit speeds. As in most Walker episodes, our hero's involvement stems not from a formal assignment but from personal connections, in this case a lifelong friendship with Team Cherokee's manager. Race footage, brawls, and periodic time-outs for wooden repartee and plot exposition at avuncular C.J.'s bar advance the story past the near-fatal crash that sidelines the team's star driver, leaving the ride free for Walker's triumphant debut as a racer. Naturally, there's a climactic dustup with the villainous rival team.

Team Cherokee preserves a formula that invokes bursts of piety amid one of network television's most relentless (if bloodless) barrages of violence. Both good guys and bad are proudly reduced to stereotypes, achieving a kind of surreal neutrality: a jaw-dropping gag about the Cherokees' "reservations" is cancelled out by an equally ham-fisted caricature of the racist team's owner. Ultimately, these are cartoons, as stylized as Norris's craggy rendition of the title theme, promising "the eyes of the ranger are upon you." --Sam Sutherland ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Chuck Norris carries the torch of Justice in the West!
Those of us who are "Proud to be an American" will all agree that Chuck Norris has done an unbeatable job of picking up the torch once carried by some of our nation's best known and loved men of justice ... Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy, and the Lone Ranger! These episodes even include the mystery and detective sides of Charlie Chan, Dragnet .. all wrapped into one ... but now with a new addition of incredible kick boxing by some some of the world's champs! Easy to identify with, the good guys are REAL ... not perfect heroes, but folks who strive to uphold justice, truth, and right to the best of their abilities. Every episode covers a current issue (no namby pamby cattle rustling here!), and keeps you on the edge of your seat with adventure, intrigue, mystery, crime, and of course ... a touch of Texas! Great filmatography too! All are close-captioned and can be made even more suitable for average age family viewing with the use of the Nocursing.com computer box to remove the mild unsuitable language if so desired.

4-0 out of 5 stars The long awaited sequel
Good old American Patriotism accounts for most American action movies, with Chuck Norris representing the free world with his deadly Karate moves and extreme firepower. After seeing Delta Force at the tender age of eight, although I don't recommend it to anyone younger, Chuck Norris took over from James Bond (a true Englishman that represents my humble Great Britain). The original Delta Force, in my opinion, was a flawless 5 star movie that incorporated every action movie cliché into what should have been labelled the best action film of this century. 5 years on Delta Force 2 is made and the question is on every Chuck Norris fan's lips, "Is it any good". You'd be forgiven for asking this after all how can you build on an already perfect film? Well with production names including Aaron Norris and Globus this film doesn't disappoint. So after blowing up half of the middle-eastern terrorists in the original Delta Force who's in the firing line now? This time the enemy is the almost domestic Columbia drug baron poring it's drugs into America. Sounds boring? Well thankfully once you realise that after the first ten minutes this isn't a second rate action/thriller, the action begins to roll with Chuck Norris going on a one man solo mission. "A one man mission?" you may ask, worrying about not seeing those well choreographed motorcycle stunts performed in the original. Sadly the military hardware has been scrapped from the script. What we do see instead is some of Chuck Norris's most explosive Karate moves since his fight against Bruce Lee in "Way of the Dragon". Delta Force 2 is a difficult movie to recommend to someone who liked Delta Force, but isn't a Norris fan in general. The film really takes a giant leap to once side as supposed to up, in the fact that it is different. By removing the title and changing a few names, you'd believe this is "Missing In Action" 4 as it has the same feel as the series. In short if you liked the original because of it's feel good "go get em" action scenes, then this may taste a little sour. Why? The reason being is that the driving force is basically, witness a few cold blooded killings and watch Norris perform some of the most aggressive kicks you'll ever see him doing. Buy this, sit back and lock and load!.

5-0 out of 5 stars cousinpaco's top action: #8
By all other standards, this movie ain't so hot. From an action-flick standpoint, this movie ROCKS.

Plot = Chuck Norris fighting a South American drug dealer and his private army.

There's some atrocity-payback, and a whole lot of flying fists, kicks and elbows.

Two moments in particular stand out:

1. Chuck going one-on-one against a henchman, teaching him Lessons Number One and Two. Both involve pummeling.

2. Chuck training a bunch of recruits in a circle of pain. One poor sap even gets a head-plant into the dirt -- I'm not entirely sure it's a stunt.

Bottom line: while not necessarily a fine example of cinema, "DF2" is a perfect Saturday afternoon diversion. The DVD isn't exactly packed with bonus features, but at least you can slow-mo the fight scenes.

4-0 out of 5 stars Two Words: BILLY DRAGO
This one was made in Cannon's last days. In fact, only Golan was left at this point. It's still Cannon all the way. As another reviewer stated, Delta Force 2-Operation Scrotumhold could have just as easily been Missing In Action 4, coz it follows the same formula. It's a solid, fun Norris actioner as you'd come to expect from a Cannon/Norris collaboration. What really made it especially fun for me was the appearance of Billy Drago as the villian. Though he was playing the stereotypical evil drug lord, he puts his own stamp on the role. Any fan of Billy Drago knows what I mean; He's the perfect villian. He's creepy, sinister and as sleazy looking as they get. If I made action films, I'd have to cast Billy Drago in at least one of them. The film's funniest moment has Chuck throwing Billy out of an airplane as a joke. This has to be seen to be believed, it's hysterical. The plot? Evil Colombian drug lord holds DEA agents hostage and basically terrorizes everyone. Naturally, the courts can't hold him, so Norris decides to rescue the agents and bring the drug operation to the ground. With the help of the Delta Force of course! This time, John P. Ryan takes the place of Lee Marvin as the trigger happy General, and he's quite amusing. Highly recommended if you like this sorta junk.

3-0 out of 5 stars The inevitable squel
With the success of THe Delta Force, it was inevitable that there wouldn't be a sequel. THough it did take four years, the sequel did finally arrive. Basically Delta Force 2 is your average Norris actionier. If you liked is other action films of the 80's,, then you will definitely like this one too. Basically the only connection this has to the original Delta Force is that Norris plays the character Scott McCoy, otherwise there is none. I don't even recall the term Delta Force even being used in the film other than the title itself. THough Norris was the star fo the frist film, it was about the Delta Force "team" going in and talking on terrorists. THis film is basically about a one man army going down to Columbia to take downa a druglord. If you changed Norris's name to Braddock, you could title this film Missing In Action 4; that's how little of a connection it has to the first Delta Force. THough there is little connection, fans will enjoy. Billy Drago actually gives a decent performance as the head baddie in this little B-movie effort. Also we get another cheese performance by John P. Ryan, a veteran of Cannon films including Death Wish 4 and Runaway Train. In conclusion, Delta Force 2 is your average Norris actionier. Not as good as Missing In Action or The Delta Force, but better than Firewalker and Hellbound.

TRIVIA: The original VHS release by Media Home Video had the title DELTA FORCE 2: OPERATION STRANGLEHOLD printed on teh box art but the film itself only portrayed the title DELTA FORCE 2. The newer DVD release has the title DELTA FORCE 2 on the box but the film itself portrays the title DELTA FORCE 2: THE COLUMBIAN CONNECTION, which is also the title used when shown on various cable channels.

5-0 out of 5 stars ONE OF CHUCK'S BEST!!!!
I am a big fan of ridiculous action movies as long as I am not bored..the more over the top, the better. This movie is better than Part 1 by leaps and bounds, and Billy Drago plays the bad guy perfect for this one. For the money, this is a great buy, forget Part 1, Part 2 is better purchase. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Violent movie?
I find it hillarious that all those elitists are the same: they consider Chuck Norris' movies violent, yet they subjectively are keeping quiet about Tarantino's. Truth is that we watch the Chuck Norris movies because we like the man, the script is not really of importance but try telling that to those mentioned above, to them a good movie is something preferably European, black&white and not dubbed and if it has interpretative dancing in it, even better! So to them I am saying, "Get over yourselves", I rather watch a movie which you consider inferior anyday, simply because I will always support actors who will not sell their sense of ethics and morality.

1-0 out of 5 stars strictly for the lobotomized folks of our great land
Chuck Norris continues to pollute the screens with this mad-cap
action-adventure crud-pot. For the serious scholars of bad movies, "Top Dog" is illustrative of the early nineties trend in Hollywood of indiscriminately turning out bad movies with dog-as-crime-fighting-partner plots. I think Belushi was in the other one, but heh, I don't have my Ph.D. in Awful Movie Studies so I can't elaborate TOO much on the specifics.
You're in for a real treat when you watch this 93-minute-long uprising against good taste.

5-0 out of 5 stars brutal
Watching this movie will make you not only question your sanity, but the filmakers as well. This brutal movie comes from the same men that brought you, what will someday be considered the most utterly ridiculous televsion show ever broadcast, "Walker:Texas Ranger". I give the movie five stars for the same reason I'll buy every season of Walker when it's released on DVD:Absolute hilarity! This movie is so completely ridiculous, anyone with a sense of humor will be laughing from start to finish.

3-0 out of 5 stars Kung fu or Kibbles and Bits? You be the judge.
I became aware of this movie when i first got into the many action films of kickboxing champ Don "The Dragon" Wilson. My father recommended Chuck "Texas Ranger" Norris to me. This was the first movie available to me. Let me tell you, that dog is a tremendous pain in the [***] to watch. Norris is much more entertaining, especially (and obviously) when he employs his karate into the action scenes. I particularly liked the fight where Norris is in an abandoned warehouse, and suddenly finds himself surrounded by at least twenty guys, who get creamed when they approach him individually, and eventually get the sense to gang up on him. While such a fight may not go quite like that in reality, is almost poetic to watch Norris kick guys so hard that the others get scared and will only approach him at the behest of the others. Trust me, the dog's presence is how the movie shoots itself in the foot. Better if you look at the relationship between Norris and the dog as the inspiration for ME, MYSELF, AND IRENE.

5-0 out of 5 stars One funny movie..
I am a big fan of Walker, Texas Ranger w/ Chuck Norris, so I picked up this movie up in a cheap section of the dvds! I wasn't a disappointed! This movie is laugh out loud funny! Norris plays a crabby cop and get he gets a dog as his partner after the "Reno's" partner gets killed. This movie shows that C.N. can do humor along with action. Go pick it up! You will like it believe me. The dog is funny and some of the stuff that happens in this movie is classic. May I mention the "Scarfs" ...

And the bad guy gets his just reward in the most perfect way in the end. ... Read more

We could forgive the crappy 70's Chuck films because of the superior fight scenes but these are not in evidence in this effort that deserves never to be seen again. ... Read more
