5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully, gripping drama!!!
James Brolin, Kris Kristofferson & Sally Kirkland give performances of their lifetimes in this wonderfully bittersweet tale of love. Ms. Kirkland portrays the unwanted wife, struggling to come to terms with the facts of her lost love, with beauty and with grace. This is her finest performance since her oscar nominated role as "Anna" in the film of the same name. There is one climactic scene with Ms. Kirkland and Mr. Brolin in the rain which will tear your heart out. Mr. Brolin does a terrific turn as the husband gone wrong, who turns up with a new, much younger girlfriend. And Mr. Kristofferson, always a great actor, never lets us down with his performance. Also, quite notably are the younger actors, most especially, Pamela Giddley. This film is a breathtaker in its cinematography and music, as well, which lend beauty and resonance to this heartfelt story. A must see!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Rose gives the performance we've been waiting for.
Although "The Doom Generation" was a wonderful start for Miss McGowan, this movie shows that she doesn't need to talk to what she wants. And Dan Gunther was pretty cool too.

5-0 out of 5 stars ROSE McGOWAN DELIVERS!!!!!
This is an awesome flick! Rose McGowan was by far the best part about this film! She was so good... I mainly saw this because of Rose, but it is a pretty good movie. Gunther was good too. If you like Rose, see this film! It was awesome!

3-0 out of 5 stars "You gotta swear you won't kill nobody with these guns."
Lots of indiscriminant murder and Rose McGowan behind the wheel of a pink 58' Olds with a cigar perched between her trademark red lips...what more could you ask for? You know, I love that girl but somebody finally figured out the real key to her intoxicatingly wicked charm is to keep her silent throughout the entire film. Just the hottest little demon from Hell homewrecker since Joan Crawford!(Spoiler alert) She has one line in the movie and it's worth waiting for, or maybe you'll just want to fast forward to the last scene to hear it for yourself. Her facial expressions and hand gestures are a lot more effective than the dialogue here anyway which is just downright stupid. I wish there was another word that better describes the pure dumbassity of this movie but there just ain't one.

Salvator Xuereb was pretty cool as your "here we go again" dissasociated psychopath that broke out of prison with some computer nerd to go on a treasure hunt for gold. They even managed to weave in a tatooed dog, a hit man and a poisonous snake...OOOOOOHHHHHHH! Has it's moments, particularly when the tourists from NY stop to photograph one of our treasure hunters. That one had me rolling on the floor. If you like road movies you can probably somehow find the patience to sit through this one too. Made me hungry for "Love and a 45." 3 Fangs

5-0 out of 5 stars She's bad, but she's NOT bad
Did you like The Doom Generation? So did I, actually, I like it a bit more than a healthy person probably should. Rose was in that movie constantly, and she was, to put it kindly, quite vocal. I enjoyed this. So I couldn't imagine wanting to watch a movie in which she plays a "mute" - why watch a movie without that incredible voice? You know what's even better about Rose McGowan than her voice (hey, get your mind out of the gutter)? Her eyes. Guess how someone who is mute expresses themselves... with their eyes! Wow! The way she uses those eyes to reduce people to insect-status is incredible (guy... "Can you hear?" Rose's eyes... "You are an idiot" you... "whoa, those are great eyes"). So what can I say? Love Rose McGowan's eyes, love this movie. Don't love Rose McGowan's eyes, well, I can't comprehend such a thing, so I can't comment in that case.

1-0 out of 5 stars Incredibly inept writing, acting and direction.
An annoying trio of characters, an I'm-so-hip tone, atrocious writing and shooting, and a relentlessly smutty tone...this one, for me, didn't even quality as "bad is good". Not even worth the rental price. ... Read more
