an okay role of madonna's life
i thought this was a good movie. the acting could have been better. they picked a great choice in casting. then again , where are any of those actors now?? they also got a lot of their names wrong , like :
- paul = dan gillroy (madonna's boyfriend;head of "breakfast club")
- and mitch = jellybean beitenez (dj @ club)
however, a great movie for a madonna fan!!

Madonna - Innocence Lost
While not overly accurate this video makes interesting viewing for Madonna Fans. Too many glaringly obvious inaccuracies for true fans but I enjoyed watching it and picking out all of these. Ie: Her hair is long in places where photo's of the event proove it was short etc. Only Madonna could accurately portray Madonna !

Not Realistic
I thought the film didn't portray a very honest role of Madonna. It made her look like the slut of the centuary. Plus it didn't even get her name right.

OK acting, Great Background

not too bad
I enjoyed watching the movie. It wasn't the most action packed, but it was good. I liked Roxann Dawson's acting it! That is why I got it. She doesn't show up too much, but when she does, she's great!

Should Not Go Unseen
This (in my opinion) shows Reeve at his best. He is an honorable priest who wants to fulfill his obligations to the church and to his parish. A killer starts confessing his crimes to Reeve, and Reeve is in a real spot. On one hand, he can not violate the sacrament of confession, but on the other hand, he can not just let this person continue to kill. The author creates a great deal of suspense when Reeve starts to get his superiors angry at him for taking on the role of detective, and the police continue to hammer him because they want Reeve to tell them what they need to know to stop the killings. The gradual unfolding of the killer and his past (and presence) is done quite well. Lt. Williams may be a secondary character, but he is quite memorable as the cop who is just trying to do his job. The final scene is profound; the whole movie has been about the sacrament of confession; the murderer finally is defeated and 'is sorry;' and Reeve absolves him from all his sins as he dies. This is an excellent mystery movie, and as I said, I feel Reeve is at his best here.

Predictable but semi-engrossing thriller.
Christopher Reeve is a priest who has a killer confess his crimes to him. Pretty pathetic result, though the premise is intriguing. At least Reeve gives (finally) a decent performance. Too slow for thriller fans and too dull for drama fans. You be the judge, but wait 'til this airs on TV or cable instead of wasting your money on it (except if you are a Christopher Reeve fan). ... Bad?
After reading all the reviews I was really disapointed when I saw the rating some of these people gave this movie. This movie was great. There are lots of special effects and explosions. At the beginning of the movie a man is driving a truck in Billings, Montana when meteor hits the road and the truck explodes. The next day a chopper flies over Montana and see's that there is a house on fire with people on the roof. The people in the Chopper rescue them and then a Propane Tank explodes! My favourite part in this movie is when an Asteroid hits a dam in Kansas City and sends water tearing through the city. Then the grand final happens when two planes blow up the earth threatening asteroid. After everyone celebrates the lady who found the asteroid finds out that the lasers blew the asteroid into tiny pieces. Several small pieces and a large one are heading straight for earth. As the discoverer of the rock went to NASA in Houston she left her Dad and her Son back in Dallas. Soon a couple of asteroids hit Dallas and then the big one hits. It blows up Dallas and obliterates it. The rest of the movie is pretty much finding a lsot boy and his grandpa. So all in all I thought that this movie was C O O L !!

KISS OF THE ASTEROID
FACT: This is a science FICTION movie.
FACT: The thought of asteroids hitting the earth is frightening.
FACT: Considering this is a TV movie, it's a remarkable feat to make this overall so good.
FACT: Michael Biehn is like Kurt Russell and Kiefer Sutherland, a good actor who hasn't quite got the right role yet.
FACT; Annabella Sciorra is so lethargic, one can doubt she's feeling anything at all.
FACT: Anthony Zerbe is still a great character actor.
FACT; The demolition of Dallas is devastating.
FACT: For what it is, this is a very enjoyable and mind-boggling movie.

Yes, it's no Deep Impact or Armeggedon. The only similiarity is the asteroid. And if were not for two little things, this would've been a four star movie. First, there is a water-crashing-over-land scene that is reminiscent of the old days (the 60's) when we saw frothy bathwater being tossed over miniature model towns. It's an eyesore in the movie and that's when you start to notice the acting aint all that great either. There are alot of really good effects mixed in though, which is puzzling. There is no spaceship that attempts to make a landing on the asteroid, and their defensive ideas all revolve around lasers instead of nukes. There is a movie here, but they mixed in some pretty bad effects with the good ones and spent too much TIME focusing on the drama of the doctor's lost child and the grandpa. You know what happens, she spends at least a half hour of the movie looking through a wasteland, and then there's another 30 minutes spent on totally irrelevant action sequences while rescuing a boy from his own stupidity (he wanders into an asteroid crater - that is on fire).
Reviewers seem to like this movie, and it wasn't all that bad. Deep Impact is one of my favorite movies, so I had to check this out. I can only watch Armeggedon if I'm alone and allowed to fast-forward through all the drama scenes. And Asteroid will never be watched twice - i.e. rent.

Good
Okay so this movie doesn't run up to movies liek deep Impact and Armageddon, but it deserves some praise for 100% its own special effects. The plot might be a bit off wack but the special effects are what makes this movie great. Another good thing about this movie is you actually get to see some other American cities get walloped. In this movie Kansas City, Missouri, Billings, montana and Dallas, Texas get a chance. Pretty good movie. ... Read more

The beginning of the TV series "JAG"
This video is the pilot episode of the TV series of the same name starring David James Elliot. The first case he must try takes place on aircraft carrier. Harm(the name of the JAG lawyer) is sent with his partner to find out if a member of the miltary (a woman moving up the ranks) was drowned, murdered or committed sucide.To make matters worse there is a problem with some European country and Harm must go fly into combat to save the people and keep the USA safe. The pilot also co-star Kevin Dunn(Stir of Echoes,Godzilla,Almost Heros,Dave) as a JAG officer in Washington D.C. The video is about 1 1/2 hours. The only thing I missed watching the video was the titles I'm used to seeing on the reruns on USA network and CBS!!Other than a must for fans of the TV series!please put more of the series on Video !although I prefer DVD over VHS any day!please who ever owns this series bring the rest of the series out on DVD/VHS!!You've have many fans thankful for awesome show about our country's miltary forces and the trials they face in and out of the courtroom!if anyone knows of any e-petions to put this show on DVD/VHS please e-mail me!!

this series begs for DVD
JAG fans unite to request this series on DVD!!! I am a new viewer of this series, having just started watching during the 2002 season. I could kick myself for what I have missed. I am catching up on previous seasons in syndication as best I can, and taping episodes. The pilot episode offered here is better than many series pilots, and holds up well to repeated viewings. I am very glad to see that Terry O'Quinn as the CAG was there from the start, as he is my favorite recurring character and guest actor. See why Bud became a series regular. Lindsey, too was there from the start - in 8 years he became more asserive while remaining so smarmy. Some of the dialog surprised me, more overt sexual references than in the regular series. I agree most whole heartedly with other reviewers that this show should be offered on DVD. CBS could at least offer the seasons that aired on their network.

What i would like to see happen since this has happenes
I would like to see this go on to be a DVD box set with the whole series on it...i work in a movie store and have been asked several times about this and would like to see it happen.

I have read many of the reviews of the folks who wrote about the Series JAG. I want to add my LOUD agreement with them when they speak of JAG being the BEST show on TV! I have taped many of the shows, and am trying to put them in order, but by looking at the list of episodes, I discover I have missed many!! I SURE WOULD like to see the whole series on tape or dvd..IN SEQUENCE!!

Fantabulous!
This movie was really fantastic, the plot, the character development, and above all: the special effects. "Gargantua" has really set the bar for all science fiction movies to come. We really need more films like this in the future; high action and exciting flicks which draw in the younger crowds, and yet still manage to teach us to love each other in spite of our differences. The touching scene with the boy, the dinosaur, and the cheesballs was really beautifully written and wonderfully acted. I could go on and on about how wonderful this movie is but I should alo mention it's flaws: ...none! Ha ha ha. We give it five thumbs up.

Ugh
A family of mutated salamanders wreaks havoc on a tiny island paradise. Of course, we're not talking mutation in the real-world sense, which would have meant a sickly little thing with perhaps an extra set of legs, but in the bad-movie sense of the word, which means bigger, stronger, and more ferocious. (Hmmm, perhaps we should be feeding radioactive pesticides to our soldiers to increase their fighting ability...)

As some of the other reviewers on this page have pointed out, you might get a kick out of this if you're in the mood to laugh at a bad movie. I found it too dull to be even inadvertantly funny. I like star Adam Baldwin, but I was sorry to see him involved with this mess. The rest of the cast is terrible, the creature design is the pits (think Barney with sharp teeth), the plot twists are ludicrous, and I'm running out of synonyms for 'bad' so I think I'll stop right here.

T.V. monsters arn't as good as the real ones
Oh sure, listen to these other guys and hate it straight away, well don't.Even though the other monster movies are better (some are worse),its still okey.Anyways, it has a good monster movie plot even if the gargantuas aren't as big as the other monsters.Overall, it will do.

A classic entry for bad rubber monster movies
I was in the mood for a bad rubber monster movie, so I picked up a copy of Gargantua. It exceeded my expectations beautifully. This made-for-tv Australian flick has all the elements of a so-bad-it's-good flick but one: there are no gory deaths. This makes Gargantua a great monster movie for the squeamish or for kids. I'm sure kids would love it.

The film starts out with two bikini bimbos at a hula party. They decided to go for a walk on the beach, and something pulls them into the water, drowning them. Later on, a cute kayaking couple go for a night-time romp. You know it's going to end tragically, and the hunky guy is pulled under and drowned.

For some reason, this means the entire fishing industry of the island must be halted. In the meantime, the son of scientist finds a kyoot widdle baby salamander. It's the size of a beagle and has big dewy eyes and slimy skin. Because it's a mutant, it can only eat junk food.

A couple more injuries ensue when a 9' "salamander" with a rhino horn goes on a rampage. The army is called in, of course. Then, an even larger critter comes looking for his kids, and explosions result.

The most spectacular death occurs later on as a fisherman is slurped up like a wet noodle. It's fun, fun, fun, for the whole family, with its laughable special effects, preposterous plot, and bad acting. What more could you want for a beer & pretzels flick? A Golden Turkey award-winner, if there ever was one....

Typical TV version...
It tries to be a lower budget TV version of "Godzilla".The problem is that they always try to make a TV version of successful summer movies like "Tornado" from "Twister" and "Asteroid" from "Armageddon".While the big screen version has great special effects the TV version doesnt so it tries to fill this with characters.Unfortunately its always the same kind of character development in these TV versions and they are ultimately boring. ... A first-rate follow-up. Recommended to any fan of Darkman.
Darkman is still living in as an outcast in the big city, and learns that the man who turned his life into a living hell is still alive and planning more villainy. So he once more employs his face-copying tactics in an attempt to find and bring down the crook.

Liam Neeson is nowhere to be found, but Darkman's downtrodden and sympathetic character is still as strong as ever. The film is filled with the kind of action, drama, little comic touches and occasional surreal images which made the first film a classic, and Durant is a genuinely intimidating villain who dominates his every scene.

One of the best comic book movies!
Darkman 2: The return of Durant is one of the greatest comic book adaptations ever made and a great sequel to Darkman. It has lots of action, a great script, and suspense like the first one. When I first watched it, I was very impressed by it because I thought that it would be a bad movie because of all the bad reviews about it. I guess I was wrong and so was everyone that gave it bad reviews in my opinion.
Anyways, this movie is truly great and has everything. For any real Darkman fan who is just dying to find out what happens next, this movie is very recommended. A must have! Loved it!

Impresive!!
Darkman 2: Return of Durant is a great movie and it successfully blends action, suspense, horror, and comic book fantasy into a great movie which is one of the best comic book adaptations ever made and a great sequel. Fans of these kind of movie will certainly love this movie and will find it a hit they'll remember. Loved it!

COOL MOVIE!
This is a VERY COOL MOVIE! It's about 5 college-aged friends who get invited to a RAVE party in a very out-of-the-way location. What these five don't know is that the party is actually a trap for Satanists to lure young (and foolish) party-hungry kids to this remote place and then to abduct and sacrifice/kill them. I don't understand the negative reviews about this movie. The acting by all of the main characters is superb! Some of the other actors could have done a better job but that in no way takes away from the impact of the movie which is TREMENDOUS! I was scared several times. This definitely IS one of the better horror flicks I have seen. 5 stars ***** P.S. DON'T GO TO RAVE PARTIES!!!!!

WILL TEENS EVER LEARN??
DEVIL'S PREY is not the worst demon movie I've seen, but it's certainly far from the best. The movie has a cheesiness that underwhelms the audience, and for the most part, the acting is subpar, particularly with Patrick Bergin and Tim Thomerson. Charlie O'Connell and Bryan Kirkwood do respectable jobs, but the girls aren't quite as effective. Jennifer Lyons has to be one of the whiniest ingenues in a while.
The plot is mixed up, we never really understand what the devil worshipers really want, and every six months they get to kill people? Muddy, mirky, devoid of any real suspense. The ending is a howler!

Worst I have seen in a while
Movies like this give the genre a bad name.
A very thin story about 3 kids who get mixed up in devil worshipping when they end up at the wrong type of party. The party is a bad excuse to show some nudity. The actings is horrible, but I guess that's understandable when you have to portrait characters who are thinner than the copper in the latest AMD or Intel processors.

My advice: go watch something else.

cool movie
very good movie. Its worth adding to your horror dvd collection. trust me!!
It starts off when 5 students / college kids were invited to a RAVE party in the Cali woods/boon-docks. They went,, they then got un-invited and when they left the rave. there were certin people that are saintin'ist that are scraficers and set-them up to go to the RAVE and then kick them out. By all means what happens next is a WRONG turn!! The college kids end up getting chased by there Saintist and then they hit some1 off the road crossing the street. What happens next will be a surprise. I cant spoil the fun of this movie.... but I promise you will not be dissapointed when its all over!!

Awesome Highly entertaining low budget movie.
This is an awesome show i just remember seeing it on the preview from a movie i rented and thought it looked really cool, sad to say it was a b-movie but that doesnt make it bad just because it wasnt released in theatres or a strong sundance independent film or anything. Its a show about some college kids who go partying at some place out in the country like a barn club then the trouble starts from there, these satanists track down these kids and they try to escape and report it, and warn everyone. The only star I can think of in this is patrick bergin who I think is a really good actor. Though it was goofy to see him be disguised as a priest and run a church and to hide his true cover to be a leader of a satanic cult. The movie is excellent though, good picture and filming, excellent acting, and very exciting to watch. Since this is a b-movie nobody is probably going to write a review for along time but people if u like freaky movies go rent this one its really awesome and even really sexy. DARKMAN CAN'T DIE
Big return for the most frightening character ever been. While the first straight-to-video sequel was a little bit weak and pointless (but still enjoyable) this one could have been a great theatrical follow-up to SAM RAIMI's cosmic masterpiece if done with the proper production values (big budget) and more sequences.
Of course, this one is the best "video sequel" and the real one by all means. You know, they filmed "DIE, DARKMAN, DIE!" long time before "THE RETURN OF DURANT", but when Larry Drake agreed to reprise his role as Robert G. Durant, the production company skipped DIE and went to film RETURN.
As far as concerning DIE, I liked the story a lot. Rooker is da man! Great villain. Arnold Vosloo was really getting in touch with Darkman, you can see it from his performance direction.
FInally, there's a fandom for Darkman at westlakedarkman.proboards3.com - Just enjoy.
I'm waiting for a DVD release of "DARKMAN III: DIE, DARKMAN, DIE!". Mmm... featuring deleted scenes and documentaries? Hell yes!

DARKMAN still remains the most frightening hero who ever graced the world. The "cult" will rise from the ashes just like Peyton Westlake did. The time has come.

Not better then the original, but still good
I'm a big fan of the Darkman character. The original was outstanding, with the great Liam Neeson as Darkman. DARKMAN 3 is shouldn't be compared to it, but it still has alot of action and a pretty good storyline.

Arnold Vosloo, who took the helm of Darkman in the second film(I skipped that one), is no Liam Neeson, but is absolutely enjoyable as Darkman. I'm happy to know that the filmmakers did a good job by keeping the character the same. His emotions, frustration, and alienation are well done here.

Jeff Fahey is gives an over-the-top performance as the bad guy Peter Rooker, whose evil plan is to gain powerful strength just like Darkman's. Fahey is sort of believable as a bad guy, but he overacts himself, even with a sadistic character like Rooker! But Vosloo is the savior here, who potrays a more humane Darkman in this entry. He does a good job at playing different emotions with the character.

I'm not that surprised that the film was a direct-to-video, but was a good film nonetheless. I love the Darkman character, and I'm dissapointed there isn't very much of a fan following. I just wish another Darkman film was made, or a TV series, which is a even better idea, because the Darkman films are fantastic.

Not as good, but still watchable...
This second sequel to "Darkman" maintains the visual style of the first two, has great music, a few good action moments, and a very good performance from Arnold Vosloo as the hero. These are the four things I liked most about "Darkman 3: Die Darkman Die," which isn't a bad movie, but it's not very good either. I'm not only a fan of Darkman, I'm also a fan of Sam Raimi, Liam Neeson, and Arnold Vosloo. Given this, I was sad to see Raimi and Neeson leave the franchise, but am thankful for Vosloo's performance. He does a great Darkman/Westlake and the sequels, especially this movie, have him to thank. While the second was a great follow-up, this film is a little on the stupid side. Jeff Fahey, overacting in every scene, plays bad guy Peter Rooker, who is a drug dealer who is after Darkman when a large sum of money is stolen from him. The plot digs deeper into Rooker's life and soon Darkman is disguising himself as Rooker and befriends his wife and daughter. Darkman soon makes a vow that he will not get involved with the family, that he is only after Peter. But soon Darkman's light side gets the better of him. The movie is bleeding with predictable moments and painfully awful one-liners. Thankfully, director Bradford May keeps a dark, violent tone to the movie and mostly keeps the movie serious about itself. There are a few unintentionally funny moments, more so than in the second, and this hurts the movie a little. I suppose the reason to see this film is if you liked the first two. I did, and gladly added this one to my collection. I have no regrets about it, but take fair warning: only fans will enjoy this one. Everyone else will be in the dark.

Darkman 3 on DVD WoW
I wont take too much time here, just wanted to state that Darkman 3 is awesome. I have all 3 on DVD, added these to my collection of DVD movie sets. Darkman ranks up there with the best, like Indiana Jones, Aliens, Star Wars, Die hard, you get the point. There isnt too many good horror, thriller, sets out there. Many thanks to the whole crew, and set for giving us the Darkman trillogy. By the way if your wondering how I came across this one on DVD. I purchased it through the internet, it is however region 4, as you know most US DVD players are region 1. If you own a Sony Playstation 2, you have the best DVD player since it is an all region player. Just go to set up then choose witch region setting you want ( 1-9 ). Hope this helps

Just as the two in the series prior, this is dark/brooding. The major draw for this movie like Darkman 2 is the star "Arnold Vosloo". COOL MOVIE!
This is a VERY COOL MOVIE! It's about 5 college-aged friends who get invited to a RAVE party in a very out-of-the-way location. What these five don't know is that the party is actually a trap for Satanists to lure young (and foolish) party-hungry kids to this remote place and then to abduct and sacrifice/kill them. I don't understand the negative reviews about this movie. The acting by all of the main characters is superb! Some of the other actors could have done a better job but that in no way takes away from the impact of the movie which is TREMENDOUS! I was scared several times. This definitely IS one of the better horror flicks I have seen. 5 stars ***** P.S. DON'T GO TO RAVE PARTIES!!!!!

WILL TEENS EVER LEARN??
DEVIL'S PREY is not the worst demon movie I've seen, but it's certainly far from the best. The movie has a cheesiness that underwhelms the audience, and for the most part, the acting is subpar, particularly with Patrick Bergin and Tim Thomerson. Charlie O'Connell and Bryan Kirkwood do respectable jobs, but the girls aren't quite as effective. Jennifer Lyons has to be one of the whiniest ingenues in a while.
The plot is mixed up, we never really understand what the devil worshipers really want, and every six months they get to kill people? Muddy, mirky, devoid of any real suspense. The ending is a howler!

Worst I have seen in a while
Movies like this give the genre a bad name.
A very thin story about 3 kids who get mixed up in devil worshipping when they end up at the wrong type of party. The party is a bad excuse to show some nudity. The actings is horrible, but I guess that's understandable when you have to portrait characters who are thinner than the copper in the latest AMD or Intel processors.

My advice: go watch something else.

very good movie. Its worth adding to your horror dvd collection. trust me!!
It starts off when 5 students / college kids were invited to a RAVE party in the Cali woods/boon-docks. They went,, they then got un-invited and when they left the rave. there were certin people that are saintin'ist that are scraficers and set-them up to go to the RAVE and then kick them out. By all means what happens next is a WRONG turn!! The college kids end up getting chased by there Saintist and then they hit some1 off the road crossing the street. What happens next will be a surprise. I cant spoil the fun of this movie.... but I promise you will not be dissapointed when its all over!!

Awesome Highly entertaining low budget movie.
This is an awesome show i just remember seeing it on the preview from a movie i rented and thought it looked really cool, sad to say it was a b-movie but that doesnt make it bad just because it wasnt released in theatres or a strong sundance independent film or anything. Its a show about some college kids who go partying at some place out in the country like a barn club then the trouble starts from there, these satanists track down these kids and they try to escape and report it, and warn everyone. The only star I can think of in this is patrick bergin who I think is a really good actor. Though it was goofy to see him be disguised as a priest and run a church and to hide his true cover to be a leader of a satanic cult. The movie is excellent though, good picture and filming, excellent acting, and very exciting to watch. Since this is a b-movie nobody is probably going to write a review for along time but people if u like freaky movies go rent this one its really awesome and even really sexy.
