5-0 out of 5 stars fun movie
I remember watching this movie over and over when I was younger. You can't go wrong with the Olsen twins movies from when they were little--I'm sure most of us would agree that they were absolutely adorable and endearing at this age.

DDTT is a fun Halloween movie with lots of magic and supernatural powers that might be too much for younger kids, but it's still a very enjoyable film. Sick and tired of being twins, 7-year-olds Lynn and Kelly often get into fights. After experiencing cold rejection from their witch aunt Agatha and hearing stories from a mysterious "grave-digger," the girls finally learn of their parents' financial problems and set off on their own to rescue their beloved Aunt Sophia, who was the victim of a spell from her sister Agatha 7 years ago and is the only person who will be able the family get out of debt. And of course, lots of friends are made along the way, and the movie has got Mary-Kate and Ashley as the stars--a good formula for a kids' film.If you're a kid, you'll probably enjoy watching this on Halloween--if you're like me or anyone else who remembers the Olsen twins' younger days, you'll also enjoy watching and remembering.

5-0 out of 5 stars my favorite Olsen movie
This is my favorite Olsen movie that they have made, mainly because unlike so many of their more recent movies, it has a good plot and a very good supporting cast. The plot sends 7-year-olds Lynn and Kelly on a Halloween night mission to get a magical moonstone from their evil aunt who has cast a spell on their other aunt. Fun for little kids, but also enjoyable for older fans. It's a good movie to pull out around Halloweentime (or whenever) and at 17 years old, I am not ashamed to watch it because it is truly one of Mary-Kate and Ashley's better movies. I guess the reason I think that is because of the stronger recognition of the other characters--they really get a more substantial role in the movie than the surrounding characters in some of MKA's other movies. In this film, you'll fall in love with the endearing gravedigger, the money-hungry yet lovable Mr. N, and the supportive, "take charge" Oscar the Clown. And then you've got the girls' parents--who, for once, actually act like parents. Gentle, loving, good people--and yet they have problems of their own that they must get through as a family. Now you start to get the feel of a real movie with a real plot. Too many of Mary-Kate and Ashley's movies either have them with single moms or dads(which there is nothing wrong with at all, but it got a little repetitive with the Olsens) or completely up-in-the-clouds parents who were practically at their feet doting on them and giving them everything, thus showing the viewer exactly what life is NOT like. This movie is one exception where the casting of the girls' parents is very strong and realistic. After seeing enough of their other films, you may grow to appreciate seeing this. I am a long-time fan of these girls' films--have been ever since their memorable Full House days. But if you're looking for a quality Olsen movie, I'd recommend that you go for the ones from their younger years--this one may be your best bet. But that's only my opinion.

1-0 out of 5 stars Parents Beware
I purchased this video and was appalled when I watched it with my child. The twins go home with a homeless man without a second thought! What kind of message is this for children? Plus, the movie has disturbing imagery, that I found scary even as an adult. This is not wholesome entertainment!

Looking for a good "scary" movie for five+? Try The Ghost and Mr. Chicken with Don Knots. I loved it, and now all the many children in my life love it, too.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't get this video
This is a scary show, not due to the Halloween content, but because two little girls run away from home, talk to a stranger (a homeless man, or "hobo", go into another stranger's house (who is a midget male clown), need I say more? Although these fellows turn out to be nice guys, we all know that doesn't always happen in the real world. Bad message for kids who are supposed to be learning not to talk to strangers!

5-0 out of 5 stars Double Double tiol and trouble
I loved the movie. I am a big fan of the olsen twins. I have liked them since they were in Full House as babies. They are so cute and I am going to keep bying their movies until they stop making them. They are such a joy to watch on tv considering all of the bad junk that is on tv these days. I have a 3 year old child who loves the olsen twins as well. she gets me ot go out and buy them when she

5-0 out of 5 stars I Hope Touched by an Angel Gets Complete Season DVD Boxsets!
Touched by an Angel was one of my Dad's favorite TV shows and it became one of my favorites too. I have a lot of favorite episodes and The 151st Psalm is one of my favorites, it is a sad but touching episode about a boy who is dying and how he wants to help his mother finish a song she was writing but never finished. The mother is played by Wynnona who I think did a great job and so did the actors who played the boy and his friend. This show was very popular and I don't understand why CBS cancelled it in order to air stupid reality shows and I wish they would start making new episodes or even TV movies and I really want to see Touched by an Angel put on DVD in complete season boxsets!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
I watched this episode first on TV, then I went out and bought the tape!! It was the first TV show that made me cry, but it the tears were happy tears. The acting in this episode was great. The message of love, acceptance, hope and, of course, that God loves us (more specifically you and me) went straight to my heart.

If you never buy any other Touched By An Angel videos or if you never watch another episode, make sure you get this one!

5-0 out of 5 stars It's Finally Coming Out on DVD!
This is an update to my last review. The Touched By an Angel episodes on this tape are good but there is some great news! The First season of Touched by an Angel is being released on DVD on August 31, 2004. FYI: John Dye who played Andrew wasn't in the first season. I think he joined the show sometime during the second season and the angel in the first season who helped Tess and Monica was named Adam and played by Charles Rocket.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wanted! "Touched By An Angel" DVD boxed set
I loved "Touched By An Angel" from the beginning. I had recorded episodes sent to me while stationed in Haiti with the Army in 1996. There was discussion at the time about cancelling the show. Public outcry helped to save the show. Had that not happened, there wouldn't have been a "151st Psalm" episode (the 100th episode) that's been mentioned in so many of the previous reviews. The audience is here, the demand is here, only the supply is missing. Release this series on DVD. You won't be sorry!

4-0 out of 5 stars These episodes need to be released on DVD.
I enjoyed watching 'Touched By Angel' when it was on TV. I would like to see these episodes released on DVD. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars How the West was Fun............
In this Movie the Olson twins play Sarah and Jessica, two girls who go to go visit their grandmother, who lives on an old dude ranch....The Ranch is going bankupt, and a relative named Bart, wants to tear down the ranch and build a amusment park.....But can the girls save it????????
This is a very cute movie,a must see for fans of the Twins....I watched this when I was the same age as the twins, and now my cousins are 5,and now they can watch it too........

5-0 out of 5 stars a very good Olsen movie
A very enjoyable Olsen movie with a good storyline and characters. 8-year-olds Jessica and Susie talk their single father into taking a visit with them to a dude ranch, upon the request of their grandmother Nattie. When the girls learn that Nattie's cold and selfish son Bart plans on turning the place into a theme park, it's up to them to save the ranch. It's a very heartwarming and entertaining movie that captures the girls at some of their best acting years.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loved every minute of it!
How can anyone dislike this movie?
It has everything: a great storyline involving an evil villain (Bart Gifooley - Martin Mull) and best of all, adorable 8 year old twins (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.) The Olsen's younger sister, Lizzie also gets a look-in.
The story is about twins who visit their Grandmother's ranch only to find that a nasty man wants to turn the ranch into a theme park. It's their job to stop him.
The best Mary-Kate and Ashley film in my opinion with a beautiful soundtrack (which includes a song sung by the twins themselves - they may not be the best singers but they sure are cute!)

5-0 out of 5 stars HOW theWEST wasFUN
THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT TWO TWIN GIRLS SUSIE AND JESSICA MARTIN WHO GO TO A DUDE RANCH WHERE THERE MOTHER STAYED AS A KID WITH NATTY WHO IS VERY SWEET! THEY FIND THEIR MOTHERS SECRETS HALF OF AN OWL AND BEAR AND READ HER DIARY. NATTY`S SON BART WANTS TO MAKE THE RANCH INTO A THEME PARK CALLED GIFOOLEY LAND. WHEN THEY GO LOOKING FOR GOLD THEY FIND THE OTHER HALF OF THE BEAR AND THE OWL.THEY SAVED THE RANCH FROM BART GIFOOLY AND THEY FOUND THE HORSE LIGHTNING THEIR MOMS HORSE. YOU SHOULD SEE IT ITS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES!

5-0 out of 5 stars Epic
Sweeping and majestic film that is not only a deeply personal commentary on the problems facing the contemporary American West, but it entertains like no other Western since "High Plains Muppet."

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen portray simple rancher folk in Brown Star, Wyoming. They're charming twins that have seen the land around them take a turn for the worst at the greedy hands of corrupt officials inside the local and national offices of the Interior and the Bureau of Land Management. Not only has the land around them changed dramatically in their lifetimes, but more importantly that helping hand from Uncle Sam seems bent on picking them up with one hand only to stab them in the back with the other. The Olsens are adorably wise to the government's shady dealings with big business in their backyard, and they would rather fight than flee. "How the West Was Fun" passionately traces their progression from simply precious right-minded citizens to lawless renegade darlings. The thrilling standoff in the film's final hour will make you think about the Waco tragedy and the Montana Freemen showdown in a whole new light.

Seamlessly woven into the fabric of this story are flashbacks to how things were once simpler on the Olsen ranch, when an honest and delightful rancher could live off the land without worrying about theme parks and nuclear missile silos interfering with the environment. John Sayles is once again at the top of his directorial game, and for once he has legitimate star power attracting a broader audience to his perpetually underappreciated craft. He has reportedly attracted Jaleel White (Urkel on TV's "Family Matters") for his next project based almost solely on this work, and what a work it is.

As the credits roll, the viewer can't help but shake the inspired irony of the title. The "fun" West was indeed the West of yesterday, of simpler times. However, when the cute as buttons twins are blinded by lawlessness at the film's climax, the crazed smiles on their once adorably heroic faces suggest that the fun is now nothing but mindless violence.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic Episode
For starters, "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" is a classic, and this is THE episode that fans always remember. The magic of this episode is that it's so un-Mary. Dear, sweet, genuine Mary wouldn't be the person you'd expect to behave this way. The episode isn't really about death so much as it is about an embarassing moment, which we've all been through. When Mary Richards cries, you can't help but feel for her!

4-0 out of 5 stars Finally, I saw it.
Well I had been hearing about this episode for years. I was pretty young with this show was out so never really saw the series.

In this show, a TV clown, who is grandmarshal of a parade shows up dressed like one of his characters. "A Giant Peanut" a rogue elefant unfortunatly breaks loose and the clown is killed when the elefant successfully tries to shell him. EVerybody in MArys office is at first shocked but then cannot help but laugh at the incident. MAry is shocked at their insensitivity. However when Mary attends the clowns funeral.........
Taking into consideration that this show is nearly 30 years old I really enjoyed it. Some of the set-ups were a bit obvious now because they are typical sit-com set ups but remember that when this show first aired they were not, in fact this is one of the shows that created the road down with many of todays sitcoms go.
So for a dose of nostalga, or even if you never saw the show in it's heydey you need to get at least THIS episode.

5-0 out of 5 stars Considered by many to be the funniest sitcom episode ever
"Chuckles Bites the Dust" (Episode #127, October 25, 1975), remains the best episode of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and is one of the classic situation comedy episodes of all time. Unless you have been living on another planet you know that Chuckles the Clown is killed when he is dressed as a Peanut and a rouge elephant attacks him. Mary is aghast at the gallows humor that compels the guys in the newsroom to keep making bad jokes. But then at the funeral it is Mary who has an attack of the giggles. Stop and think about it: on how many episodes of MTM does MARY get the big laughs? This is the proverbial exception that proves the rule, big time. Both writer David Lloyd and director Joan Darling earned Emmys Awards for this episode. For that matter, Mary Tyler Moore won for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and the show won for Outstanding Comedy Series, probably on the strength of this legendary episode.

5-0 out of 5 stars Total Classic
"Dear sweet Mary"... of everyone in the WJM newsroom,(and for those of you who know and love her like i do) she is the most loving, caring, genuine person there is - so when she finds the humor in Chuckles' death at his funeral it is hilarious! you would expect this from any one else, NEVER Mary. But the total humor in it is when the Priest praises her for laughing "that's what Chuckles would have wanted"... then she begins to sob like crazy- total classic! 1 more thing: in Lou's office, for those of you who don't know, the pix of him on the wall in his football uniform is really him! What a hottie, eh? :)

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the (hee hee) all-time classic (heh heh) episodes
This is an episode about (hee hee) a horrible tragedy. Chuckles the Clown is in a parade, dressed as a (titter) peanut. And then something dreadful (hah hah) happens. A rogue elephant (snort) tries to shell him.

The people of the newsroom try to deal with the death in predicted ways. (heh heh) Lou and Murray can't help laughing; Ted is (snicker) bewildered; and Mary is simply horrified.

Then, the funeral comes, and the famous line "A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants." And Mary ... just ... can't ... help herself.

What makes this episode so memorable? Because we all know what that's like. We've all had a hard time controlling laughter during serious and/or embarrassing situations.

One warning: Your memories of the funeral scene with (heh heh) sneak up at the most inopportune (chuckle) times.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
This is one of my all-time favorite movies. It's heartwarming, funny and the characters are so real. Graham Greene and Tom Jackson both give an excellent performance. It's one of the best ensemble casts you will ever see. I've watched it a hundred times, at least! Get it, you won't be sorry!

5-0 out of 5 stars Medicine River
Medicine River is a delightful movie. I am a Graham Greene fan, and I have watched this film many times since purchasing it. It's funny, warm, and absolutely charming. If you are a Graham Greene or Tom Jackson fan, this is a 'must see' and I highly recommend that you add it to your collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Real life and Real heart
I use this film in my Native American Images in Film course when I teach; it was one of the first movies to reach out beyond some of the stereotypes of our people and reveal us as real folk with real hearts and real human challenges and the humour to get through it...Sheila Tousey, Tom Jackson--in fact, every actor in here-- does us proud (and half of them remind me of family or folk I know...)as characters, as actors and as ani'yvnwiya--"real people".

4-0 out of 5 stars loved it
I thought the convolutions over the fella buying the basketball jerseys and how he went about paying for those jerseys was amazingly similar to personal experience. the movie properly addressed individual patterns on returning home and the general "what's going on" thoughts many have upon returning home after living in the city for a time. the movie was great for that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Refreshing
Humorous story about a contemporary Native American careerist squaring his ethnic loyalties and identity with career demands. Greene is entertaining, and it's great to see Indian humor shine through and characters who aren't stereotypes. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE GREAT TELEVISION SERIES
James Garner is one of the finest actors in television history. Unlike many actors in long-running series, he gives a fine performance in every episode. The true charm of the series is a combination of his acting ability and the terrific supporting cast and guest stars in addition to great script writing. The episodes are not simply "action" stories but frequently deal with the psychology of the various leading characters as well as the social mores of the United States and more specifically Southern California in the 1970's, sometimes seriously, sometimes in a satirical or humorous way, but always interesting.
Why isn't there TV like this any more?

3-0 out of 5 stars Great episode, slightly flawed presentation.
This is a clever episode from the show's brilliant first season. Private eye Jim Rockford tries to track down a man who may have faked his death to grab a $400,000 insurance claim. James Garner already seemed completely comfortable in the shoes of Rockford, and there's great support from guest star Jill Clayburgh (who manages to look cute in a '70s-style afro).

For diehard fans of the series, however, there's a rather egregious cut made of a crucial scene that shows how Jim gets out of a scrape. Viewers who haven't seen the missing footage will find themselves wondering what happened. It seems that MCA Home Video used a syndication print, rather than an original master. In sum, then, five stars for the episode and the visual quality of the print -- but two stars must be subtracted from the overall rating given the editing.

"Rockford," by the way, is a series that cries out for a comprehensive release in the Columbia House Video Library series. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars "Twenty thousand dollars buys a lot of gro-cer-ies."
I've bought all the "Rockford Files" episodes that seem to be on the market (except for "Nice Guys Finish Dead"), and this one, "The Kirkoff Case", is my favorite of them. It's entertaining from start to finish, and it exemplifies the producers' ability to pack so many memorable, humourous, yet believeable scenes into so little time without making things seem rushed.

Guest star James Woods is superb as Larry Kirkoff, particularly in those distracted-in-thought facial expressions he makes a few times while Rockford is talking to him. Regular Joe Santos is especially strong in his performance as Sgt. Dennis Becker. And guest Abe Vigoda is perfect in appearance, voice, and subtle hand movements in his brief role as "labor-union" (mob) boss Al Dancer.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE GREATEST INSPIRATIONAL TELEVISION SHOW OF ALLTIME!!!!
FIRST THERE WAS "LASSIE" THAT TOUCHED THE HEART WITH THE SIMPLE MORALS OF THE LORD, AND EXAMPLES OF HIS GREAT LOVE AND FAITH!!!! THEN CAME "WALTON'S MOUNTAIN" WHICH TOUCHED THE MORE DEEPER WITH SCRIPTURE AND LESSONS OF THE LORD'S FAITH AND LOVE, EVEN THROUGH TIMES OF HARDSHIP AND TRAGEDY, AND NOW AT LONG LAST THE GREATEST OF THESE TELEVISION SHOWS OF DEEP INSPIRATION, UNDYING LOVE, EMOTION, AND GREAT FAITH. THE CONTINUING TALES THAT TELLS US OF THE COURAGE AND STRENGTH OF "ANGELS" SENT HERE TO GUIDE US, COMFORT US, ENSURE US OF THE LORD'S GREAT LOVE FOR US, AND HIS ENDEARING CARE AS WELL FOR US ALL!!! TALES TOLD IN A TODAY'S WORLD, TORN BY WAR, HATRED, BITTER CONFLICTS, AND INSURMOUNTABLE ODDS THROUGH FLASHBACKS OF YESTERYEARS OF BYGONE TIMES WITH EVENTS AND PEOPLE OF GREAT COURAGE, THROUGH GREAT HARDSHIP AND SUFFERING. THIS SHOW HAS TOUCHED THE VERY GAMBIT OF HEAVEN AND HELL, WITHOUT GROTESQUE HORROR, OR BLOODSHED, BUT IN TURN TELLS IN ELABORATE HOUR-LONG TALES OF VARIOUS STORIES OF BEAUTY AND HUMAN CONFRONTATION SUCH AS TO RISE AND TOUCH THE VERY CHRISTIAN FAITH THAT LIES DEEP WITHIN US ALL; AND FILLS US WITH A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT THOSE MORALS ARE AND HOW WE AS EVERYDAY PEOPLE CAN LEARN OURSELVES TO CONFRONT THEM, IF THEY SHOULD ARISE IN OUR OWN LIVES. EACH EPISODE HAS LEFT ME IN TEARS, AND BROUGHT ME CLOSER TO THE LORD IN SO MANY BEAUTIFUL AND THOUGHTFUL WAYS, I'M SO BLESSED FOR HAVING SEEN THIS SHOW!!!!
I ALWAYS WILL!!!! GOD BLESS EVERYONE!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars THE GREATEST TELEVISION SHOW EVER!
For nine years America was "Touched by an Angel" on prime-time. When the show was cancelled last year, TV became a wasteland. Simply put, this is the greatest television program ever because of the genuis of Martha Williamson and one of the greatest ensemble casts ever to grace the TV screen.

These two episodes will show you why. I can't wait for the season by season DVD boxed sets to come out and I don't understand what Paramount is waiting for!! They will make a mint off this series.

This is one series that will rank with the classic dramas of television like "The Waltons", and "Little House".

5-0 out of 5 stars QWERKYNESS SQUARED!!!
If you like brilliant writing coming from the qwerkyest characters ever put on screen, than this is the show for you! I stumbled upon this show years back while channel surfing and have sought it out ever since. Awhile back, A&E ran it every day, and there was a marathon that I taped, but of course it was VHS. Having had DVD for two years now, I just can't watch VHS or broadcast TV anymore. Apart from the obvious video quality and sound issues, the incredible ease of navigation and repetition abilities of DVD's make VHS tapes more obsolete to DVD's than dinosaurs are to humans; it is that drastic a quality difference! PLEASE, PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE release this brilliant drama/sitcom...IT DEFIES DESCRIPTION really, but you can't watch it for five minutes and not be a fan forever. The Northern Exposure fan base is huge. So speaking for Joel, Maggie, Maurice, Chris, Ed, Holling, Shelly, Marilyn, Ruth Ann, Adam, and Jesse The Bear; please release Northern Exposure so I can die a HAPPY MAN!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best TV Series Ever!
Northern Exposure has to be the most wonderfully directed, acted, and produced television series' I have ever seen. Especially the pilot episode. The scenary and the music in every episode make you feel as if you are a part of it all. Every episode has a very emotional ending, and leaves you with this warm, satisfying feeling inside. After watching Northern Exposure, I wanted to move to Alaska for the longest time. From Chris in the Morning to Dr. Fleischman, every character is dynamic, and you can never once tell that they are acting. It is just a very wonderfully natural show. I tried to get some of my friends to watch it, but they don't get the worth and moral value from it that I do. I hope that TV stations keep playing the re-runs on A & E or other networks. Rob Morrow, aka Dr. Joel Fleischman, is one of the best, and now one of my personal favorite, actors. The way each episode goes into detail about the smallest things, just shows you how thought-out, well-written, and well-planned the makers are. Its a shame there aren't more series like Northern Exposure today. The makers also did an A+ job in casting the characters. I don't really have a favorite, since they are all just great, but I especially like Chris, Ed, and Fleischman. Chris has this intellectual way about him. He's sort of a rehabilitated philosopher so to speak. He and his radio show are one of the key moral points of the series. He usually sums up the moral value of each episode. I just can't say enough about this show!

5-0 out of 5 stars Northern Exposure NOT on DVD?
I have seen some of the dumbest movies and TV series come out on DVD, and they were just made recently. Where's Northern Exposure? This series has been over with for a long time, what is it you are waiting on? I have never been glued to a TV set before in my life until NE came to TV.
I, as well as others are extremely disappointed in this, so PLEASE begin recording this on DVD so the entire world population can once again watch the best series that was ever created.
I thank you very much.

5-0 out of 5 stars season one available on DVD in UK
If season two comes out on DVD in the UK I'm going to buy one of those "illegal" DVD players that let you watch DVD encoded for others regions-countries. The players start at $89.00 and are as high as $600.00. There is a huge amount of good DVD stuff out there that will never be released here so that $100.00 bucks would be well spent. The $89.00 one is small and easy to slip into a crowded area. So instead of getting all my money the studio will only get a royalty. too bad for them.

5-0 out of 5 stars what's the hold up with the DVD's ?
i can get "Britney Spears" concerts on DVD, but not the all-time best TV series EVER?? ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BLESSED BE THE CHILDEN OF GOD!!!!
"TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL" HAS TOUCHED MY HEART, AND FILLED MY LIFE WITH SO MUCH JOY AND EMOTION, THAT IN SOME WAYS IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE AND GIVEN ME A DEEPER AND GREATER UNDERSTANDING INTO A DIVINE CHRISTIAN LOVE AND FAITH I ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT!!!! THE "NETHERLANDS" EPISODE WAS THE BEST EPISODE OF THIS VIDEO; FOR IT WAS A PREMIERE EPISODE FEAUTURING VALERIE BERTENELLI AS A NEW ANGEL "GLORIA" WHO HAD TO LEARN WHAT IT WAS TO BE A REAL ANGEL, AND MONICA WHO HAD TO LEARN TO BE ANGEL ONCE MORE BEING TEMPTED BY THE DEVIL, PLAYED FIENDISHLY BY MANDY PANIKIN, AFTER FACING A HORRIFIC TRAGEDY.
OF THE MANY MORALS MONICA HAD TO LEARN, THIS WAS ONE OF HER GREATEST TESTS OF COURAGE SHE HAD TO FACE ALONE!!!! LIKE THE LORD BEING TEMPTED IN THE DESERT BY THE DEVIL, AS IT IS WRITTEN IN THE GOSPELS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT, SO MONICA TO HAD TO SUFFER A SIMULAR ORDEAL. A CHALLENGE AND A TEST OF SPIRIT THAT WILL TOUCH YOUR HEART!!!! THE GREATEST INSPIRATION TELEVISION OF ALLTIME!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Christmas Miracle
I have seen all of the "Touched by an Angel" episodes and enjoy them all! Right now one of my favorite is "Christmas Miracle". I like the songs and the singing and the story line is always inspirational.

5-0 out of 5 stars 5 Star Video You Can't Miss!!!
All I can say after watching this video is WoW!!!
This would have to show Touched By an Angel at its finest! The acting is superb in both epsidoes, and the storyline, as always holds a feel-good and important message, and I would reccommend seeing this for any Touched fans, and even those who aren't!

This 2 episode tape features the excellent episodes, 'The Face of God' and 'Netherlands'. The first episode, 'The Face of God' deals with the moral issues of genetics, whilst the second episode, 'Netherlands' deals with the tough issue of terrorism. Both issues are dealt with extremely well in these episodes, and make this video a MUST SEE.

As always, the Touched by an Angel cast, crew and writers have provided inspirational and uplifting episodes. Well acted all round, with great storylines, and an even greater message and meaning, there is something for everyone to get out of these 2 amazing episodes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Believe it or not, this was pre-September 11th!
I have only seen "The Netherlands" on television once, so I can only review this portion. Personally, I think EVERY American, every person of faith, and every person with any moral fiber whatsoever needs to see this absolutely stunning piece of film. It was shocking to me to discover that this was actually filmed and aired before September 11th! When you get to the scene where the angels recognize other angels - sorry, can't give you any further details without ruining it for you - you will know exactly what I mean. At this price, you cannot afford to miss this! Just please trust a fellow Christian and patriotic American who happens to be a stranger to you at this point: you NEED to see "The Netherlands." Though not nearly as dramatically, it, like September 11th, will leave you humbled and changed. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Best ending
Excellent episode from this great show. The ending makes this one memorable. After the ice breaks, all of the men in town gather together for their traditional "running of the bulls"- in the buff. The music is perfect' "Where the Wild Things Are"- about everyone's need to go a little crazy, and we'll go there together.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spring Breakup Brings Out the Animal in Cicely
This is one of my favorite episodes because it first introduces Officer Barbara Semanski to Cicely, the future bride of Maurice Minnefield. The whole town is struck with "Spring Fever"in anticipation of the ice breaking and to go along with that is a healthy dose of mass "horniness". Joel and Maggie go at it for the first time and Holling gets his horns clipped when Officer Semanski, played brilliantly by Diane Delano, lands a TKO in the boxing ring before the whole town. Chris has his own scheme for reminding people about "chaos" by ripping off stereos and Ed tracks him down. A quote by Chris "Sometimes you gotta do something bad just to know you're alive"..Excellent episode!

4-0 out of 5 stars Spring Break
This is a gem of postmodern television. Spring is approaching, and along with it, the annual breaking of the ice. The stress of the ice manifests itself in many of the townspeople. See MTV, the Garden of Eden, the impermanence of material goods, boxing, and zen all come together for a rousing running of the bulls.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is one of the best of what was a wonderfull show.

5-0 out of 5 stars QUINTESSENTIAL JIM!!!AWESOME EPISODE(S)!!!!!
Henri-a memorable encounter! It is hard to say that one scene is better than another. Order what you like but I strongly suggest the green corn tamales - a diamond in the rough...We can recite lines from this all day if necessary. Jim and his pal Kendall are classic in their repartee with Mr. Fantazzi in the costume shop - proving that it is true that brain surgery is not for everyone. Angel Martin with a dead rat between his teeth for $20.00 would be priceless to see-would go great with a bottle of Chateau Neuff de pop(sp?). 5-0 out of 5 stars Shallow Waters isn't Shallow
I loved this episode so much when I saw it on tv recently, that I started looking for it on video or dvd to buy! The story is great, the acting is fantastic, and everything is so much like how it can be in real life. 5-0 out of 5 stars Nancy's first TV episode - Hugely Enjoyable
My first time to see Nancy Drew (and more importantly, Pamela Sue Martin as Nancy Drew!) in about twenty years. And a real pleasure it was.
The story-line was, well, rather sweet and inoffensive (Nancy investigates - gasp - a haunted lighthouse) but since when has "sweet and inoffensive" been a crime? The performances were great (particularly Pamela Sue Martin, who makes a wonderfully assertive and confident heroine), the story held my interest more than I thought it would (particularly in the latter half when Nancy started to put things together and I found that I was being surprised by the well thought-out scripting) and the whole package was as entertaining as Rockford Files, or Harry O, or any other seventies 'tec show that we grew up with.
I would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone who remembers the series with fondness, and would even feel confident that it would be good enough to entertain a friend who had never set eyes on the show before.

5-0 out of 5 stars A leader for modern independent women on tv.
LET ME START BY SAYING THAT THIS SHOW IS SOLID. The clothes are (hardly)not dated. It is still great to watch. I loved watching the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mystery hour. When I got this video I watched it not just once, but a few times. I loved taking a stroll back in time. I just want to know what happened to George's cousin, Nancy's other co-hort "in crime". I can't wait to get my next ND video.

4-0 out of 5 stars An Eerie thriller- fun for kids at Halloween
While out in a boat during a party, Nancy and friends spot a mysterious light coming from a supposedly abandoned lighthouse. The lighthouse is rumored to be haunted and Nancy, of course, has to investigate attracting the attention of a handsome "ghost-hunter" from California searching for lost pirate treasure. Another classic Nancy Drew and quite well made. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars How the town of Cicely came to be named for Cicely
"Cicely" (Season 3-Episode 23, May 18, 1992) finds Joel encountering Ned Svenborg (Robert Blossom), a 108-year-old man who tells him the story of how the little Alaskan town of Cicely came to be back in 1909. It seems way back when the community was a cultural mecca known as "the Paris of the North," established by a free-thinker named Cicely (Yvonne Suhor) and her companion Roslyn (Jo Anderson). As Ned tells his story, Joel imagines the town's present citizens as the characters in Ned's tale: Ed becomes the young Ned, Maurice is the power hungry Mace Mobrey, Chris is his hired gun Kit, Shelly is the young harlot Sally, Holling is Abe the man who loves her, and Maggie is missionary woman Mary OKeefe. Joel, of course, is Franz Kafka, who is struggling with an idea for a story about metamorphosis. As Ned tells the tale of how Cicely was intended to be a utopian paradise and her tragic fate, Joel appears to have some appreciation for what a special little town he is stuck in by a simple twist of fate. Of all the Cicely history episodes, this one is definitely the best. The final episode of the third season, "Cicely" was written by Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider, this episode was directed by Rob Thompson. Did you know?: In Italy "Northern Exposure" was known as "Un medico tra gli orsi," which translates as "A doctor between the bears."

5-0 out of 5 stars INCREDIBLE
If I hadn't been a Northern Exposure fan already, I certainly would have become one while watching this episode. I found it to be incredibly moving in so many respects. It can really stand alone as a marvelous piece of historical fiction. Put in the context of the series, however, it marks a true turning point. None of Cicely's residents will be able to look at their town in quite the same way, least of all Joel. Setting the much-awaited Cicely history lesson aside, the last scene of the epsode says it all for me. Joel can finally see past the snow, the mud and the miles between himself and New York City to see the heart and soul of a little town on the cusp of the new Alaskan Riviera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Possibly one of the best things I've seen on TV.
This was the episode that made me fall in love with Northern Exposure. I found this episode to be incredibly moving, tender, and touching. Even if you've never seen the show, I still think it's worth seeing because it's so good.

5-0 out of 5 stars An absolute "must-have" for any Northern Exposure fan.

4-0 out of 5 stars Maggie, Maurice and Marilyn take stock of their lives
The fourth season of "Northern Exposure" opened with "Northwest Passage" (September 28, 1992), which refers to Maggie's depression over her 30th birthday as she becomes obsessed with the idea she is growing old and is missing out on life. Joel, of course, provides no comfort whatsoever, so by way of a solution Maggie enacts an Indian ritual to put her past to rest. Meanwhile, Maurice has commenced working on his memoirs and Marilyn has asked poor Chris to teach her how to drive. Written by Robin Green, "Northwest Passage" was directed by Dean Parisot. Nothing spectacular happens in this episode, which makes it an interesting choice for inclusion in this video collection, but it does give a nice character study of the M characters of Maggie, Maurice and Marilyn, which, obviously, is the point. This one is for true fans of "Northern Exposure," and not the casual viewer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Maggie Reaches a Crossroad
This episode is so important to those who are dealing with the inevitable "sands of the hourglass" reaches certain years of our lives. Maggie is turning the big "3-0" and wants to have closure with her past dead boyfriends and sets out alone to purge them only to find, in a fever- induced hallucination, that they all blame her for their downfall! Meanwhile, back in Cicely, the ever pompous Maurice is driving everyone crazy recording his memoirs and Chris ends up literally driving Marilynne crazy as she takes driving lessons from him. Marilyne decides to walk and Joel saves Maggie and tenderly stays with her in the hospital with a kiss on the forehead. A sweet glimpse of things to come.....

5-0 out of 5 stars Mary and Some of Her Disasterous Parties!
The Mary Tyler Moore Show is one of the best classic sitcoms from the 70s and some of the best episodes are the episodes that featured the running gag of Mary's disasterous parties and this tape has some great ones inluding the episode where Mary throws a dinner party for a congresswoman who was interviewed on one of her news programs and then winds up not having enough food for everyone when she winds up with uninvited guests and the one where Ted and Georgette come over for dinner and Georgette goes into labor but it's a shame that they didn't include the episode where Mary tried to throw a surprise birthday party for Lou not knowing that he hates surprise birthday parties and the one where the lights go out during a party in Mary's new apartment during a party where the congresswoman was bringing Johnny Carson as a guest and everyone reminiscences about all of Mary's past disasterous parties. I now have the first season of The Mary Tyler Moore Show on DVD and I'm looking forward to the rest of the seasons coming out on DVD and it would be so nice to see all of the party episodes on DVD!`

5-0 out of 5 stars Mary's disastorous party's on video!
This show and tape will make you die laughing. It's hilarious, Mary Richards throws some pretty horrible party's. If you like The Mary Tyler Moore show you will love this video it's funny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Four of Mary Richard's disastrous dinner parties on 2 tapes
One of the running gags on "The Mary Tyler Moore" show was that Mary's parties were always a disaster as the four episodes on these two tapes prove. "The Dinner Party" (Episode #82, November 17, 1973), written by Ed Weinberger, finds Mary stunned when a congresswoman (Irene Tedrow) accepts her rhetorical invitation to a dinner party. Henry Winkler plays one of the guests. In "Mary's Aunt" (Episode #126, October 18, 1975), my favorite of this quarter, written by David Lloyd, Mary's Aunt Flo (Eileen Heckart), a world-class foreign correspondent, drops in for a visit. The next thing Mary knows, Flo and Lou are engaged in a friendly little rivalry. "My Brother's Keeper" (Episode #65, January 13, 1973), written by Dick Clair and Jenna McMahon, finds Phyllis puzzled when her visiting brother seems more interested in Rhoda than Mary. Of course, it never occurs to her that her brother is gay. Actually, it did not occur to the writers until the original ending fizzled. Finally, in "Mary Midwife" (Episode #145, September 25, 1976), also written by David Lloyd, Georgette Baxter unexpectedly has her baby in Mary's apartment bringing to a close another one of Mary's unforgettable parties. Too bad they could not include the retrospective on her parties that ends with Johnny Carson shows up during a power failure. Oh, well. You cannot have everything.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hi Guys
PARTY GIRL contains one of my favorite scenes from my all-time favorite sitcom: Lou taking 1/2 of Mary's party platter:

"Say. You know what? I'm not as hungry as I thought."

One episode that I would've put in place of the Aunt Flo episode was the party for Lou where he locked everyone out of Mary's apartment ("Aw come on Mr. Grant. Let Rhoda in--you like Rhoda"). Or maybe the party where the power went out just before the guest of honor arrived.

But the only real complaint I have about this VHS set is that it isn't enough. If MTM would package every episode on tape, I'd buy the whole thing in a second.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Box Set
A great box set of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show"! Consisting of four classic episodes, this set is a must for any fan! Buy it today! ... Read more

I've never been a huge fan of this show, in fact the holiday episode with Ann-Margret was the only episode I caught. That being said, it's one of the most touching and well acted (largely in part due to Ann-Margret's brilliant performance) show I've seen in a long time.
