5-0 out of 5 stars Hilarious. Campy fun!
I rented it for the nude babes (note: Cindy Margolis on the cover is not in the film) and it's actually a very funny, clever, romantic comedy. Basically, a mischevious co-ed convinces her best friend to kidnap her favorite rock star as a study break. They get the guy drunk and handcuff him to her bed at her sorority house.

The cute, blonde best friend is the best. The assassins are good too. Alot of fun.

3-0 out of 5 stars Brainy sorority girl kidnaps bad boy rock star.
In a word, quirky. This film is not exactly what one might expect from the title. Sure it has a few scantily clad women and a silly plot line but the storyline is well crafted, the charaters smartly written and more than make up for weak performances and David Michael Latt's uninspired direction. The father and son hitman team is one of the best pairings in film history. Give it a chance, you'll like what you see. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Twisted Fun
Jane White is Sick & Twisted is a treat to anyone who considers themselves a "real" film buff (ie, probably NOT for everyone)! It's the kind of comedy that lets you in on the joke and winks at you from time to time. Wil Wheaton (Stand By Me) is funnier here than Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler's last few performances put together! It's great fun to spot ALL the cameos : Squiggy, Screech, Marsha Brady, the chicks from The Wonder Years, etc. Get twisted and see this movie!

4-0 out of 5 stars Sick & Twisted Fun
Jane White Is Sick and Twisted has just hit the video stores and rental palaces. A film that already has a cult following, it was not easily found in theaters. Those who did wander across it and stayed to watch realized that this is a truly subversive gem. It has, as they always say, a star-studded cast. Well, they were stars at one time or another and mostly on television in many cases, but they are all recognizable faces and names for avid viewers That's probably appropriate since this film ponders what a life completely shaped by television might be like. Who can resist seeing a great many familiar faces like Maureen McCormick and Wil Wheaton act themselves into a corner from which their careers may never recover. Just kidding but it is a hoot to watch though since none of the characters are anywhere near sane in Jane's world. ....

1-0 out of 5 stars JANE WHITE IS JEJEUNE AND BANAL
I can't believe the packaging on this DVD actually had a blurb comparing it to BEING THERE. Actually, I can't believe anyone would compare JANE WHITE to much of anything other than maybe some would-be teenage cineaste's awkward first attempt at filmmaking.

Painful to watch! I did not laugh once. My friend only rented it because she likes Colin Mochrie. I've only seen WHOSE LINE IS IT? once and scarcely remember it, so he wasn't a draw for me. And like every other actor in this disaster, he is ill served by the script, by the direction and by the awful cinematography (well, it looks like it was shot on video, so I'm not sure you can talk about genuine "cinematography").

I see that some reviewers find this a clever spoof on TV and the TV obsessed mind. And some just seem to like it because it's "cult." I dunno, you reach a point in life, I guess, when a bad film is just a bad film. And I guess at age 51, I've finally reached that point. If this is camp--well, send me HOME!

OK, bad reviews are almost never voted "helpful" on Amazon. That's understandable, I guess. People want to believe the best about a movie (or book or CD) that they're kinda sorta interested in. Or maybe they're already fans, and they're looking for validation. Well, here's some advice that should prove "helpful" for anyone who has yet to see this film. Rent it first. Or better yet borrow it from the library.

Plunk down as little money as possible before you decide whether you might be one of the rare, uh, discriminating few who might actually enjoy JANE WHITE IS SICK IS TWISTED enough to want to own it.

4-0 out of 5 stars sick & twisted & brilliant
This movie made me laugh harder than anything has in a long time. Some of the lines are absolutely precious. "I will handcuff you to my heart, and stab you repeatedly with my love." It's relevant and irreverant and hilarious - everything a good indie comedy should be.

5-0 out of 5 stars A cult classic in the making..
A cult classic in the making...I found Jane White to just be hopelessly endearing, especially considering that I'm a reformed television nut myself. ...The DVD looks great, though representative of the film's low-budget origins. The source material doesn't show any signs of wear or abuse, and I don't recall spotting so much as a single fleck or nick for the duration. The image remains respectably crisp throughout, though limited somewhat by the clarity of the available 35mm film stock.... A few minor quibbles aside, this is a solid presentation, and definitely well above what I'd expect from an independently-produced comedy... Conclusion: Like most "love it or hate it" comedies, Jane White is Sick and Twisted is probably best suited to a rental rather than blindly shelling out twenty bucks. Television nuts and viewers with an interest in off-kilter, independent comedies are likely to get a kick out of the movie, and there are enough extras on its DVD release to keep 'em occupied for the better part of an evening. Recommended. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars pretty bad
If you have seen the first scarecrow movie you will probally know what to expect, well I did'int and I loved the original. First of all the movie acts like the first one did'int even happen, besides that little fact I thought the movie was going to be as fun as the the first....I was WRONG!!. I could live with a diffirent story but I could'int live with really bad actors(If you thought the actors in the first were bad wait till you hear these)spitting out lines from a [bad] script, and to top it all off they put in really chessy computer effects.
I would only buy this movie if it were around 5 bucks but if you can't find it that cheap just rent it.

1-0 out of 5 stars One of the WORST "horror" films in history....Really bad.
This direct-to-video garbage centers around a scarecrow that takes over a college boy's soul and turns him into a killer. This is about as bad as it gets. The actors do their best. The lighting is good. The script is ok. The only person I can blame is the director and producer. As I watched this, I kept thinking "How could you make a movie this bad? Even accidentally?". A first year film student with an IQ of 10 could produce something more watchable than this. I love cheesy horror, but this is by far THE worst movie I've seen in 2 years! Give me 500 dollars and a crew that works for free and I could create a film 1,000 times more watchable.

1-0 out of 5 stars scarcrow slayer
Scarecrow Slayer is an abomination of a movie. This concerning (Mary) chasing whole movies by the scarecrow. Acting, it looks similar to college student. It was likely jeepers creeper and but more realistic than scarecrow. There performed was terrible, it felt like there be no director at all. The scarecrow then goes around killing people. There are no straight points in this movie.

2-0 out of 5 stars save your money for something worth while!
ok, there is 4 main charchters. the main guy wants to join some stupid ferternity club, so he has to go still a scarecrow. the farmer catches him, goes to shoot at the scarecrow because its coming to life and misses and hits the boy. the boys soul goes into the scarecrow and he becomes this psychotic scarecrow killing everbody except his girlfriend and his guy friend. anyways i got almost to the end but was so bored i turned the dumb show off and went and did something else. the whole scarecrow idea sounded really cool to me but this movie blows! the only reason i gave this pathetic excuse of a movie 2 stars is because it has some really cool/gory killings! this movie isn't cheesy, scary, or funny....just stupid! the only reason its rated R is for Horror (which is a load of bull), violence/gore, and language.

1-0 out of 5 stars What The Hell?
I reiterate, "What the hell?".. This movie appeared to be filmed by a bunch of intoxicated highschool jocks. My friend and I rented this movie for B-movie thrills, but all we found was a bunch of retarded co-eds running from a non-scary antagonist. Speaking of the antagonist, a freaking scarecrow, and to top that, it used to be one of their friends. And the way the guy was 'possessed' by the scarecrow was utterly cheesy, but still funny. It looked like a horrible techno-rave scene by some guy trying to re-create a recent acid trip.

I wouldn't recommend renting, or buying this film unless you want to have a brain aneurism. Seriously, it's that bad. I suppose you could rent it just to make fun of it, but even then it's horrible. I could have made a better movie using MSDOS. That is really all I have to say about this pixelated crap-fest. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars good film
The sound track was great, the cinamatography was great much better than most of your low budget films. most of the acting was ok that guy that played speed/ Frankie Ray has a great carrier ahead of him.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible waste of time and $3.00
This is one of the worst films I have ever rented. The box cover makes it look intriguing, but do not be fooled. The production values and direction are so incredibly amatuer that they made me laugh in disbelief! Do not waste your time on this video.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great movie!
Keeps you on the edge of your seat and jumping at each turn of events

5-0 out of 5 stars VERY COOL!!!
Oh my god, this is one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. I thought the black face cover was cool and I loved RESEVOIR DOGS (there's a quote comparing it on the front) so I rented it. I popped in the cassette and couldn't stop watching. It's f**cking intense! I thought my head was going to explode.

I just bought the DVD and it has alot of good stuff on it, especially deleted scenes with commentary. I definitely recommend it for any film enthusiasts. ... Read more
