Class of Nuk'EM High
Class of Nuk'EM High is one of Troma's better movies but that ain't saying much. The movie is very sloppy and looks like there wasn't much time taken into it, but what do you expect from a B movie? Well there is a lot better B movies out there then this one. It is good for a Troma movie and Troma fans will like it but if you hate Troma movies stay away from this one. I really liked "The Toxic Avenger" and I felt this was a let down compared to that film. Troma made two sequels to this and they were even worse.For a Troma this is good,but they haven't yet made a film really good since "The Toxic Avenger".

CLASS OF NUKE 'EM HIGH is a Troma-tizing Classic!
This is one of the best films out of the Troma Film Library, next to the "Toxic Avenger" of course! The story is about a nuclear power plant that is leaking radiation onto the nearby high school, and turning it's students into the opposites of what they are. Nerds turn into psycho's, preps turn into perverts, and a teen gives birth to a mutant slug that falls into toxic waste and then turns into a giant monster that stalks the high school halls. Sound complicated? It's not. Just pick this one up, you might be surprised. The acting and special effects may seem cheesy, but it's all in good fun.

low budget bliss
this film is abouta guy who works at a nuclear power plant in security and on the side he deals drugs.well,the marijauna he sells the local punks becomes contaminated with nuclear waste and weird stuff galore!nobody anyone has ever heard of plays in tromaville.keep the kids in the next state when you watch this.it has abselutely nothing educational in it whatsoever.it is set in the same place as the toxic waste avenger but is way way better.only those with a dark sense of humor will be able to handle the borderline obscene happenings here.there are hot and cold runnung bimbos all through it but they are all ugly.million dollar boobies with a food stamp face.2 chicks lose thier shirts.this is the epitome of all low budget horror films.

Troma classic 4 sure!
I first seen this movie when i was about 10 years old. It really freaked me out with its wierdness but years after, when i got to about 19 years old, i still couldnt get it out of my head. Then i started wondering if its out on DVD, to my surprise, it was! WOW! I thought i was the only one who really dig this film, slapstick humour, perfectly cast characters, some sexy, not to mention, psycho chicks & troma style gore! Even the main characters get in touch with thier darkside's! Its a classic & includes a lot of characters from the toxic avenger movies. Its a classic troma film, & a stand-alone awesome independant film aswell. If u aint seen a Troma film b4, definetly check it out. It bends hollywood rules & goes beyond them! Lloyd Kaufman's a genius! Its a low budget film but some of the special FX will amaze you....By the way, i havent even got the 1 with special features like deleted scenes & commentary, so even more reason to buy this, i am.

This campy, fun film sums up the 80's with a... BANG!
This is a film only for those whom truly enjoy bad film-making, even worse acting, and off the wall characters. ...CLASS OF NUKE EM HIGH is without a doubt a film that summarizes the cliches, cliques, and comic tastes of the 80's, makes the viewer laugh, want to go to the porcealan thrown, and very happy all in the same frame. A gore masterpiece in the genre of horror-comedies, this film is the second best in this genre... I will remember this film for many years to come. Turned On Yet?
"The First Turn-On!" is a teen sex-romp camp/beach comedy that skirts the edges of soft-core porn, making it perfect viewing material when you're absolutely convinced you have the house to yourself.

Here's the situation: Michelle, a counselor at Camp Big Tee Pee (Ha ha!), is leading her campers on a nature walk when Mitch, Annie, Danny, and Henry decide to head off to a cave to smoke a joint. I know, that's a lot of folks to be sharing one little reefer. Doesn't really matter, because Michelle finds them and scolds them for a while until there's a cave in, and they all get trapped. What to do?

Well, this being 1983, they talk about sex. Specifically, they each tell the tale of their first times, which are then reenacted for the lucky viewers. So, we get to see Mitch, the greasy punk who keeps flexing his bicep (despite the fact that he doesn't really HAVE a bicep) make out with a blonde hooker, Henry get it on with a young socialite while surrounded by donuts, Annie do the deed with a farm boy, Danny suck face with a Penthouse Pet, and, finally, Michelle herself with a couple of twins. Meanwhile, we cut back to the camp here and there for some more hijinx, which generally involve the humiliation of a male camper or two.

It's pretty standard early 80s teen-sex-comedy stuff, except for a few things. One is the surprisingly huge cast - new people keep showing up all through the flick, which is pretty rare for a micro-budgeted movie like this. Better, though, is that except for the Pet, none of the women fit the conventional teen-sex ideal of beauty. They all have unique features and bodies. Lloyd was clearly interested in casting anyone who was willing to bare a breast or two, and the results are refreshing for a teen-flick. I'm now a big fan of Heidi Miller, who played Annie, and I can't imagine her unconventional looks being featured in any other moron movie. Playboy fans won't like it, but those of us who appreciate diversity will.

Sex-wise, "The First Turn-On!" goes a little farther than your average teen sex-romp. Which is odd, because otherwise it seems pitched at your basic 10-year-old boy. But the sex scenes, which include an extended orgy that has a touch of homoeroticism, go on longer than you might expect. Not sure that's to the movie's credit or not, but hey, there it is.

So what else does "Turn-On!" have to offer? Well, lots and lots of gags. Some will offend you. Some will make you groan. Some will, despite your best intentions, make you laugh. And there are the 80s fashions to make fun of (look how high they wear their tube socks!). Hey, there are worse ways to kill 90 minutes. But again, make sure the house is empty and the shades shut tight. You really don't want to anyone to catch you enjoying it.

Awful!
This is a bad bad bad movie that flip-flops between icky juvenile toilet humor and icky juvenile soft-core porn. A group of teenagers and their counselor get trapped in a cave and tell stories about how they lost their virginity. And....that's it. And it's told in the most tasteless and disgusting way possible. The only reason this movie is seeing the light of day is because it features a young and mortified Vincent D'Onofrio in his film debut. If you want to Vincent, watch a rerun of Law & Order: Criminal Intent and skip this piece of sludge.

The Citizen Kane of Troma films
This is great American cinema.
A classic, deserves a remake.

Great Troma sex comedy classic
The fourth film in the first four Lloyd Kaufman(aka Samuel Weil) /Michael Herz directed Troma films (preceeded by Squeeze Play, Waitress, and Stuck on You). It has all of the originality, comedy and a sex that is known for in Troma films and is more entertaining and shocking then any modern sex comedy. This was film was made right before Troma made the classic Toxic Avenger. The DVD release of this film features one of the best Lloyd Kaufman commentary tracks, aswell as other extra material which reveals Maddona auditioned for the film, and begged to be in a Troma movie but was turned down and shortly after became famous. The picture quality is good, although it could use color correcting, and has some minor scratches. Definetly a great Troma film, and a great Troma DVD.

Demented and incredibly hilarious
This is an absolute gem, and one of the very best films in the extremely uneven Troma ouevre. A twisted parody of every bad teenage sex movie, it will appeal to fans of subversive, raunchy humor. Imagine a really well-made porn film, with good acting, a brilliant script and decent production values, minus most of the explicit sex, and you'll get an idea of this film's greatness. ... Possibly the best comedy/horror B-Movie out there!
When I got this on VHS, I expected just the fun that was awaiting to happen. As soon as I saw Melvin and his clownish encounters with Bozo's gang, I couldn't do nothing but laugh hysterically. You should really see how much of a nerd Melvin is. As cheesy as the movie is, it's a classic and it contains non-stop cheesy action, comedy, gore, and everything you can wish for. The story is basically about a 98 lbs nerd named Melvin who works at the Health Club and gets tossed and bullied around. Eventually he gets chased out a window and falls into chemical waste and burns, goes home and voila! becomes The Toxic Avenger! now the rest of the way, you'll have to watch for yourself what he does. I recommend it to all the people out there who enjoy cheesy flicks like 'Killer Klowns from Outer Space' and 'Revenge of the Nerds'. This is the best Troma film ever! hahaha.

The First And Best Of The Toxic Avenger Series!
A 98-pound weakling falls into a barrel of toxic waste and is transformed into a towering hulk of sludge wearing a tutu. At times very gross, the film has developed a cult following.

I love all the violent scenes in this film. It shows you what would happen if you did something like that to someone, but you were to afraid to do it. The violent scenes are also hilarious!
Little kids would just love this film if their parents would let them watch it, which would be really funny.

There aren't too many jokes told in this one. But whenever there are, they are just as funny as Melvin sticking a mop down some guy's throat.

This is the best TOXIC AVENGER film ever. It's a shame that Part 2 & 3 were so bad. Those next two films were horrible. If you want to know what I thought of them, then go check out the sequels and look in the reviews for my name. I'm not going to act like God and tell you to stay away from them. If you want to see them, then go ahead!

I would've actually given this three and a half stars, but since I can't, I'll just give it a fair rate of three stars.

Oh my god!!! It's the Toxic Avenger...
It all started with a Mop Boy...
His name was Melvin...
Hated by just about everyone, they tortured him. After being cruelly humiliated, the hapless Melvin plunges head first into a barrel of some kind of toxic waste, to emerge the next day transformed into: The Toxic Avenger!!!

One of the Troma Greats, the Toxic Avenger is a classic movie in which good seeks out evil, and finds true love... It is a shame that there are only five stars, because this movie breaks the limit. Go for it, you won't regret it at all!!!

Troma's best
This is definitely one of Troma's best. Peace out!

Oh yeah. What a relief.
A Horror-Comedy comparable to Dead Alive, Army of Darkness, Return of the Living Dead, and Re-Animator. The Toxic Avenger is a cheezy super hero movie, and that's the point. Toxie's erly days, were humble, he was the school nerd who was picked on and teased alot, then one day he falls into some toxic waste and it deforms him, but it gives him superhuman strength, and thus he becomes The Toxic Avenger! If you don't like this film, consider yourself ignorant and in desperate need of therapy. This movie is just flat out funny. Smart people will get it, but the stuck up squares will not. This movie was made this way intentionally. This is the only Trama film worth your time. It's so funny. I haven't laughed so hard in forever. This is a 5 star comedy. THE SINGLE GREATEST MOVIE EVER !!!
Llyod Kaufman hit the nail on the head with this one. Sure through the years others have tried to make other baseball comedies like that one with Madonna or that Keven Costner (did you know Troma got Costner started in Sizzle Beach)one or that one that just came out this year. But they all are dirt on this movies coattails. I mean none of those inferior imitations have a baseball getting stuck in the crack of someones butt, how can they even compare!

Boob-a-riffic!
There are certain works which transcend aesthetic criticism and become cultural signifiers, archetypal embodyments of the moment that produced them. As American cultural hegemony reached its apotheosis and began to break like a great salty wave, depositing encrustations across the littoral zone of history, a sulbime new art form frothed forth - the 70's boob movie.

Any serious student of this genre would have to brand this movie as one of its most distinguished emanations. The plot - is not important. What is important is that the director of this movie, in a moment of auteurial inspiration, was inspired to include a scene in which a man exclaims "I love you!" to the (authentically) buxom object of his affections and immediately places his head between her breasts and makes a very loud farty sound by pressing them together and blowing.

They found a peanut, all right...a peanut of DEATH!
I've always had this fantasy that some thoroughly disreputable quick-buck movie would end up being brilliant. Like, what if some soft-core "Erotic Thriller" ended up having gutsy, breakthrough performances and a riveting plot? What if "Police Academy 12" was Oscar-worthy?

My fantasies came through with "Tromeo & Juliet." The very concept of a punk "Romeo" is brilliant - they conceived this before Baz Luhrmann's movie - but seeing as how this is Troma we're talking about, Lloyd Kaufman could have steered this in a very wrong (read: conventional) direction. Fortunately, they managed to find a young mad genius named James Gunn to write the script, and they found some hungry young acting talent who threw themselves into the project. And Kaufman, perhaps inspired by all this, finally directed like a man more concerned with making a good movie than cashing in on the quick-buck exploitation trends that nearly ruined "Troma's War" and "Sgt. Kabukiman."

Not that "Tromeo & Juliet" isn't a quick-buck exploitation movie. It is. It's also a hilarious and inventive comedy, an art film, a soft-core porno, a gross-out gore flick, a surprisingly moving love story, and - best of all - one of the most oddly faithful Shakespeare adaptations I've ever seen. Amazingly, it's all these things all at the same time, sometimes even in the same scene (check out Murray Que's final scene, in the tattoo parlor). "Tromeo" captures the spirit, the wordplay, and the abandon that so many staid Shakespeare movies completely miss. And it's one of the most energetic and creative movies you're likely to see.

I could gush on and on about "Tromeo," for it is my favorite movie. Now that James Gunn is a big-time - although still delightfully weird - Hollywood writer, I wouldn't be surprised to see a surge in "Tromeo" sales. This is a good thing. "Tromeo" is a completely unique and exhilirating movie, and it deserves a huge audience. It's not for everyone, I suppose (the close-up shot of the nipple being pierced will pretty much clear the room of those who should have stayed away in the first place). But if you like a little trash in your art, or art in your trash, give "Tromeo" a chance.

Oh - and the budget for "Tromeo" was $350,000, or about what it costs to cater lunch for a week on your basic Adam Sandler movie.

Above-Average TROMA effort!
I realize Troma Studios has an extremely loyal, if not large, following and I am about to honk off what few loyalists will read this, but I just don't get it. I know Troma is trying to cater to those who prefer their movie entertainment to whack them in the face with a brick, but I get the feeling watching a Troma-produced movie made in the last few years that they are becoming a parody of themselves.

This is not meant to be a slap at "Tromeo and Juliet," but I can't help but vent about Troma. I don't, and never did, think that doing a "take" (turning your face toward the camera with your mouth and eyes wide open - some people refer to it as "mugging") was funny, and Lloyd Kaufman is the king of this. My feeling is that when I see a "take" in a movie, I am reminded that I'm watching a movie and am not simply a bystander in some characters' lives. I say this fully knowing that Troma-produced movies are not meant to be great art and are made to appeal to a certain viewer - I think he lives somewhere in New Jersey - and God forbid I tell someone what they should do with their money, but they could at least TRY.

The ultimate example of Troma's "love of self" - besides their commercials for their merchandise that show up before AND after each of their movies on the tapes - is the movie "Tromeo and Juliet." Tromeo?!?!?! I thought the world was coming to an end when I saw "The Toxic Avenger" made into a Saturday morning cartoon and then referred to as "Toxie" every time he makes an appearance, but "Tromeo?!?!?!". I always liked "The Toxic Avenger" but with each successive sequel, it got hokier and hokier (is hokier a word?). I respected Troma about 15 or 20 years ago when they were making movies such as "Combat Shock," "Class of Nuke 'em High" and the original "Toxic Avenger" but now it seems they are doing nothing but exploiting their viewers...whose numbers appear to be dwindling. Not that there's anything wrong with capitalizing on an alleged strong point and making money, but "Ars Gratia Artis" (art for art's sake) seems to mean nothing to Troma.

Phew...all that without taking a breath. On to the movie review.

"Tromeo and Juliet"...damn, I can't get past that title...is not a terrible movie. That is, if you like tattoos, body piercing, off-the-wall violence and the 'F' word. I could go on and on about over-the-top acting, stifled camera work (what I could do with HALF that budget!), rubber-mask effects, blah, blah, blah. Other than that, it's pretty good.

The main characters, Will Keenan, who pays Tromeo...Tromeo?!?!?...and Jane Jensen, Juliet, are actually pretty good. Their attraction for each other is actually believable because neither one of them are matinee idols...above average looks, below average IQs, rebellious, etc. Their characterizations, though, by no fault of the actors (we blame the writers for this), are very uneven. One example of this is that Juliet is portrayed as virginal and naive, yet at one point she pleasures herself after calling a 900 number and in more than one scene makes out with the maid, played by Debbie Rochon.

Aaahhh, Debbie Rochon. Rochon has a certain something that I haven't been able to put my finger on. She is very good when it comes to her needing to be sexy, although if the scenes in this movie are any indication, she has shattered a bunch of my illusions (I could never understand why guys get turned on by lesbian scenes). I don't think she is as good when she need to be evil, but she is convincing in straight roles (such as the mom in "Santa Claws") and alluring roles (again, when her character is shooting the strip scenes in "Santa Claws") or when she's scared (as in "Abducted 2"). The one constant about Rochon...she sure is easy on the eyes.

A couple other actors give above-average performances. I'm getting old and my memory is failing so I don't remember their names, but the actor that plays Juliet's father does a commendable job, as does the woman who plays Tromeo's...Tromeo?!?!?!...girlfriend (before he meets Juliet), but when you see her you'll know why I like her performance. Who needs silicone! All the other performances are well over the top and on their way down the other side.

As I said, I will always bring up the positive points of the movies I review, so here goes. The overall tone of the movie is fast-paced and has a lot of energy...a lot of shouting, a lot of arms flailing, and none of that introspective acting that sometimes gets in the way of a performance.

Even with her tattoos, numerous body piercings and the darkening of her eyebrows - which I didn't understand - Rochon is a breath of fresh air - literally. When her character sees that Juliet loves Tromeo...Tromeo?!?!?!...and needs to show a hint of a conscience, she makes it believable and it tugged at my heartstrings...but I was drunk when I watched it...

One last thing about Troma itself. I'm not sure if Lloyd Kaufman thinks people watch Troma movies because of him, but his name is the only credit on the front of the video box (directed by...) and appears on the box more times than the title of the movie! Being in advertising myself, I know the theory behind promotion and selling, but the word "subtle" is not in Troma's vocabulary. OK, one more thing - I don't know why, if they shoot on 35mm, everything looks so grainy. Rent a Panavision.

Well, I think I just killed any chance I might have had of working with Troma.

I can see how someone in their early twenties would love this movie. You know, the more I think about it, perhaps this movie wasn't aimed at my demographic. I should have known better when I saw a soundtrack which included bands such as Motorhead, Superchunk, Ass Ponys and Unsane. It's sad that filmmaking at this level has come down to demographics, isn't it?

i showed this to my buddy who never saw a troma film and got him hooked on troma.when i read romeo and juliet i was bored out of my mind,and the leo decrappio made me queesy butt this is the best retelling of that snorefest bill shakespear i've seen

a decent film...tromatized!
Tromeo and Juliet was a good flick. I am new to troma films, and this is the first one I viewed. I was pleased with it's bizzaire story line which mimiced shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The violence, nudity, sex (read like a cheap porn, which isnt a bad thing mind you!) and overall wierdness that I had heard about and was expecting from Troma was all there, and I loved every bit of it. If you are new to Troma films, you might want to check it out, and if even if you are a rabid fan, you might want to pick this one. The extras are cool to check out too. Review: Troma's War
Troma, best known at the time, (and pretty much still,) for "The Toxic Avenger," put this truly demented military-action epic together in the late 1980s. It was originally only available in a massively butchered, (thanks, MPAA,) R-rated version and did very poorly, but now it's finally available uncut on VHS and DVD.. and your action-movie education isn't complete until you've seen this film. The plot involves the racially/socially mixed survivors of a terrible plane crash, (a black priest, a blind girl, a Nam vet, a fat guy, a rock band, etc. to name a few) discovering that the island they have "landed" on is populated by a terrorist army planning a secret invasion of the U.S. Great setup for even a traditional action movie, but "Troma's War" goes off in a direction best described as "G.I. Joe on amphetamines," with bloodier-than-Rambo battles, a pig-nosed villian, martial arts, human-ear necklaces, facially-conjoined twins, tongue-removal-torture and an ASTONISHINGLY offensive henchman named Senor Sida, who's "special power" is something I probably can't discuss on a family webpage. ANY sensibilities you may have, this movie will offend... and it's probably the most constantly violent movie in even the Troma library, so it makes one GREAT party tape. Stick around after the credits.

Troma Does a War Flick
Why I continue to plod my way through Troma's catalog of schlock movies is a question not easily answered. "The Toxic Avenger" holds a special place in my heart because that movie was my first real gore film experience. Since then, I have seen many more films from Lloyd Kaufman's warped studio, and none of them ever really matches that first Toxic Avenger picture. If you are not familiar with Troma, they are a movie production company dedicated to releasing the worst trash films in cinematic history. The people at Troma actually revel in their reputation for bad taste through massive self-promotion in all forms of media. "Troma's War" shares attributes with nearly every other Troma film I have seen: atrocious and hammy acting, cheesy but gruesome effects, lame musical scores, pedestrian pacing, and tasteless humor.

The impetus for "Troma's War" is a plane full of civilians crash landing on a seemingly deserted island. Not many passengers survive, but those who do constitute a broad cross section of American society. You have a Catholic priest (who is a great singer!), a trio of rock and roll wannabes, a slimy businessman, a blind girl, the requisite hunky guy and gal, a Vietnam vet (who really gets into the war: he wears a necklace made out of human ears and has the best death scene in the movie), a British guy with a blowgun and poison darts, a few old folks, and a woman with a baby. The surviving passengers spend the first scenes of the movie just trying to figure out what happened and to map a plan of action. When hunky guy Taylor decides to explore the island, he discovers a roving band of soldiers armed with assault weapons slogging through the forest. All the survivors generally agree that this could be a bad thing, especially when they witness a band of armed thugs gunning down one of the defenseless passengers on the beach. Our heroes rapidly head for the hills, so to speak, in order to avoid the armed gangs looking for them.

As "Troma's War" unfolds, the crash victims discover that these soldiers on the island are actually armed mercenaries and terrorists training for a clandestine offensive against the good old United States of America. After some trite soul searching, the group of survivors decides to arm themselves and fight the terrorists in their own backyard. This decision takes on special meaning when the terrorists capture several members of the group and subject them to painful torture techniques, such as exposure to AIDS and throwing a flight attendant off of a watchtower. When our armed heroes liberate the prisoners and kill all of the terrorists, they move on to the main target: a base full of Cuban soldiers and more terrorists. As the enemy soldiers die in numbers that John Rambo would appreciate, the crash survivors also suffer a few casualties in the course of the war.

That's all there is to "Troma's War": several scenes of survivors bonding followed by lengthy battle sequences where people die en masse. Kaufman states in an extra on the disc that "Troma's War" used more squibs (little packets of blood placed on the body and set off with a small charge to simulate gunshot wounds) than nearly any other movie with the possible exception of Sam Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch." Kaufman may be right, but we don't get to see many of those squibs going off because the battle scenes are so poorly choreographed. It looks as though Kaufman directed his cast and extras to just run around and shoot, and we don't get to see much of the carnage in graphic detail because Kaufman and company didn't effectively use slow motion outside of a few "people on fire" scenes. Moreover, the squibs weren't as big as they could have been. I looked forward to blood packets the size of tennis balls, but alas, this did not happen. Overall, there is still a body count so high that it should satiate even the most rabid war movie fan.

Troma made this film in 1988 as a response to the hyperpatriotic, right wing war films like the Rambo series and "Red Dawn." At one point in the film, lead character Taylor waxes philosophic about how he found documents in the terrorist camp proving that right wing elements in America are working with the terrorists because they want to use the resulting chaos to increase their wealth and power over the common man. It's a class and control issue, laments Taylor, and it's up to them to put a stop to this terrible exploitation. Further evidence in this vein comes from the mouths of one of the terrorists, claiming that a campaign to destabilize America will cause the citizens to turn to mercenaries in order to restore the rule of law. I wish someone would one day write an article about left wing themes in Troma films.

The DVD version of "Troma's War" contains even more extras than a normal Troma release. There are interviews with nearly every person involved in the production, from the actors to the stunt people to the crew. The usual tour of Troma studios and intelligence test are here, as are four trailers for such Z grade numbers like "Sizzle Beach, U.S.A." More importantly, the movie on the disc is the unrated director's cut. "Troma's War" isn't the greatest Troma film ever made ("great" being a highly subjective term regarding Troma), but it isn't the worst one, either. Low budget movie aficionados should probably check this one out if they get a chance, as there is plenty of groan worthy material in the movie. I recommend this as a "rent, not buy" experience.

Troma's War
After a Tromatic plane crash on an island somewhere off the face of Cuba, a few spirited Tromaville Citizens are about to find out the harsh reality of guerilla warfare. It is only a short period of time before the battle for life and death begins in one of Troma's ultimate masterpieces. If you like Troma, an interesting plot, or just a plain bloodbath, then Troma's war has it all. Though not the best Troma film, it is still worth getting. Unfortunately, it doesn't measure up to the wonderfully black standards of Terror Firmer, but then again, what could? It is still an amazing film, and a good storyline.

Revolutionary propaganda never smelled so good!
This film turns the tables on the Bush/Reagan-approved "military chic" of the eighties, taking the Ubermerikkkan propaganda that was GI JOE and Rambos II and III and turning it around into a call to arms for the common man against the elites that opress us. As "out-there" as the bad guys (and good guys) seem in this film, you must keep in mind that they are all charicatures to show us how wall street will stab you in the back to protect his neck and pocketbook, how the church has had its tongue ripped out by the powers that be (though it sings on through the blood), and how the true American spirit (not to mention our children's free will) can only be saved when we seperate Military and Monetary powers. Even through the (once-again) EXTREMELY GI JOE-esque visuals, storytelling and soundtrack, this film uses powerful symbolism in the manner of Dali's "Le Sangre D'un Poete" and Orwell's "Animal Farm" to push us over the edge and into seeing what our (barely) free minds are up against. All great art is shocking at the time of release, dated as expired within three weeks, and (seeing how everything in this film is coming true) we will all be studying Troma's War in art school in fifty years tops! If you don't believe that, then you probably think our president was elected legally. Welcome to the Infiltration, I hope you brought a condom!

Steer clear of the R-rated version, as it has had not only its tongue, but also it's heart severed by the MPAA. Not a film for normal Tromites just looking for cheap thrills - THIS IS A THINK PIECE!*

Pretty boring for Troma
I still don't understand people liking this pretty dull movie. It made me angry the first, second, and last time I saw it. I kept trying to give it another chance. Even though it has Aids jokes, tons of dead bodies, and even a woman's thingies blowing up it just wasn't good. Mr.Kaufman didn't know if he was making a gory Troma film or a semi-serious action movie. The main characters are lame, they are way too serious, they kill all the fun. The guy who cuts off ears, the punk band, and the British agent rule! But the "serious" characters seem to bash the movie to death and suck all the life out of it in a lame TV sitcom kind of way. This is Troma at its worst, conforming.

Fortunately this film went more unnoticed than most Troma flicks, and despite Kaufman saying its a masterpiece I still think its [not good]. They soon realized that this wasn't the direction to go and went back hardcore. Seeing their newest film Terror Firmer brings me relief they have long forgot about a seriously dull mistake they made a long time ago. Troma rules!!!
The original Toxic Avenger is the most famous Troma movie ever made and finally there is a worthy sequel. When I first heard of Citizen Toxie and how great it was, I had high hopes as Tromeo & Juliet and Terror Firmer were so cool. I wasn't disappointed, Citizen Toxie is hilarious from start to finish with everything that makes Troma great.

There's tonnes of nekkid girls (a few guys as well), action, cheesy Troma gore and some of the most twisted humour ever! I mean who else but Troma has the guts to make jokes about, hate crimes, penil implants, abortions and the metally challenged? I think that plenty of people would feel it's their duty to critisize such un PC humour, but really the true racism satired in this film are shown as events happening in the 'evil' dimention thus rightfully protrayed as dispicable yet how many Hollywood film makers even acknowledge that these exact evils happen in the real world? Most people would agree that making fun of the handicapped is not cool, but hey the mentally challenged characters Tito and Sweetie develop true personalities in Citizen Toxie and really aren't the tear jerking Hollywood flicks like 'I am Sam' that use handicapped people to make their films sappy and sentimantal exploiting them just as much as films that laugh at them?

Citizen Toxie has the kind of no holds barred creativity only a low budget independant film can capture. If you love Troma you will already have this 2 disc set, if you don't like Troma steer clear of this film as it embodies everything Troma represents.

As usual there are a tonne of extras on the disc. Troma certainly know how to make great DVD sets, how many big studio DVD's do you get which think that 'interactive menus' and 'chapter selection' are special features? Apocalypse Soon the making of documentry is awesome. Any big budget film 'making of' consists of a glossy set of interviews in which one dimentional actors like Julia Roberts go into the dynamics of their character acting and feature a director explaining his artistic vision for the remake of a foriegn film, but Apocalypse Soon features totally raw on set footage of the film crew. All the problems like lacklusture stunts, late actors, script revisions ect are all shown in on the spot unedited footage. LLoyd isn't painted as a character who is beloved by all crew and actors but shown reacting honestly to the day to day struggles on set.

This double DVD is amazing, very cool film, great extras, some interesting easter eggs and is worth every penny.

Citizen Toxie

In my opinion, this is THE best Troma film. Incorperating super heroes from around Tromaville, this film is amazing. It is full of all the stuff that Troma enjoys, and it has some of the best heroes of them all, Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D., Dolphin Man and Mad Cow Boy, and not to mention the strongest and best looking hero of them all... The Toxic Avenger!!! It is action packed with Tromatic flair, and is truly a masterpiece. Keep them coming Troma!!!

A long time fan of Troma, I was very excited about the next installment in the Toxic Avenger series. Let me just tell you that I have seen a lot of weird, messed up, and down right insane movies, but this one has got to take the cake. They spared absolutely no expense in trying to offened every person, politcal group, organization, and anything and everything basically under the sun. It made me proud. I was even shocked at the extent they went, and that is REALLY hard to do. Just when I thought they had covered all aspects of humanity they would add another tid-bit of juicy offensiveness. I was very impressed with the effort that they had obviously put into this film, in excluding nothing from it's insulting and vulgar attacks. It's hilarious, full of cheese, and has plenty of violence. The plot is simple: Toxi gets mixed up with his evil twin Noxi and they end up in each other's different planes of existence-let the fun begin! Fans of troma and Toxi will cherish this movie, after I rented it I had to own it. It also has plenty of extras on the DVD, including a troma triva game. This movie is bound to shock even the most desensitized viewer, as it did me, and delight all you morbid peoples' funny bones! Definately a classic, and definately worth it's weight in gold. ... They found a peanut, all right...a peanut of DEATH!
I've always had this fantasy that some thoroughly disreputable quick-buck movie would end up being brilliant. Like, what if some soft-core "Erotic Thriller" ended up having gutsy, breakthrough performances and a riveting plot? What if "Police Academy 12" was Oscar-worthy?

My fantasies came through with "Tromeo & Juliet." The very concept of a punk "Romeo" is brilliant - they conceived this before Baz Luhrmann's movie - but seeing as how this is Troma we're talking about, Lloyd Kaufman could have steered this in a very wrong (read: conventional) direction. Fortunately, they managed to find a young mad genius named James Gunn to write the script, and they found some hungry young acting talent who threw themselves into the project. And Kaufman, perhaps inspired by all this, finally directed like a man more concerned with making a good movie than cashing in on the quick-buck exploitation trends that nearly ruined "Troma's War" and "Sgt. Kabukiman."

Not that "Tromeo & Juliet" isn't a quick-buck exploitation movie. It is. It's also a hilarious and inventive comedy, an art film, a soft-core porno, a gross-out gore flick, a surprisingly moving love story, and - best of all - one of the most oddly faithful Shakespeare adaptations I've ever seen. Amazingly, it's all these things all at the same time, sometimes even in the same scene (check out Murray Que's final scene, in the tattoo parlor). "Tromeo" captures the spirit, the wordplay, and the abandon that so many staid Shakespeare movies completely miss. And it's one of the most energetic and creative movies you're likely to see.

I could gush on and on about "Tromeo," for it is my favorite movie. Now that James Gunn is a big-time - although still delightfully weird - Hollywood writer, I wouldn't be surprised to see a surge in "Tromeo" sales. This is a good thing. "Tromeo" is a completely unique and exhilirating movie, and it deserves a huge audience. It's not for everyone, I suppose (the close-up shot of the nipple being pierced will pretty much clear the room of those who should have stayed away in the first place). But if you like a little trash in your art, or art in your trash, give "Tromeo" a chance.

Oh - and the budget for "Tromeo" was $350,000, or about what it costs to cater lunch for a week on your basic Adam Sandler movie.

Above-Average TROMA effort!
I realize Troma Studios has an extremely loyal, if not large, following and I am about to honk off what few loyalists will read this, but I just don't get it. I know Troma is trying to cater to those who prefer their movie entertainment to whack them in the face with a brick, but I get the feeling watching a Troma-produced movie made in the last few years that they are becoming a parody of themselves.

This is not meant to be a slap at "Tromeo and Juliet," but I can't help but vent about Troma. I don't, and never did, think that doing a "take" (turning your face toward the camera with your mouth and eyes wide open - some people refer to it as "mugging") was funny, and Lloyd Kaufman is the king of this. My feeling is that when I see a "take" in a movie, I am reminded that I'm watching a movie and am not simply a bystander in some characters' lives. I say this fully knowing that Troma-produced movies are not meant to be great art and are made to appeal to a certain viewer - I think he lives somewhere in New Jersey - and God forbid I tell someone what they should do with their money, but they could at least TRY.

The ultimate example of Troma's "love of self" - besides their commercials for their merchandise that show up before AND after each of their movies on the tapes - is the movie "Tromeo and Juliet." Tromeo?!?!?! I thought the world was coming to an end when I saw "The Toxic Avenger" made into a Saturday morning cartoon and then referred to as "Toxie" every time he makes an appearance, but "Tromeo?!?!?!". I always liked "The Toxic Avenger" but with each successive sequel, it got hokier and hokier (is hokier a word?). I respected Troma about 15 or 20 years ago when they were making movies such as "Combat Shock," "Class of Nuke 'em High" and the original "Toxic Avenger" but now it seems they are doing nothing but exploiting their viewers...whose numbers appear to be dwindling. Not that there's anything wrong with capitalizing on an alleged strong point and making money, but "Ars Gratia Artis" (art for art's sake) seems to mean nothing to Troma.

Phew...all that without taking a breath. On to the movie review.

"Tromeo and Juliet"...damn, I can't get past that title...is not a terrible movie. That is, if you like tattoos, body piercing, off-the-wall violence and the 'F' word. I could go on and on about over-the-top acting, stifled camera work (what I could do with HALF that budget!), rubber-mask effects, blah, blah, blah. Other than that, it's pretty good.

The main characters, Will Keenan, who pays Tromeo...Tromeo?!?!?...and Jane Jensen, Juliet, are actually pretty good. Their attraction for each other is actually believable because neither one of them are matinee idols...above average looks, below average IQs, rebellious, etc. Their characterizations, though, by no fault of the actors (we blame the writers for this), are very uneven. One example of this is that Juliet is portrayed as virginal and naive, yet at one point she pleasures herself after calling a 900 number and in more than one scene makes out with the maid, played by Debbie Rochon.

Aaahhh, Debbie Rochon. Rochon has a certain something that I haven't been able to put my finger on. She is very good when it comes to her needing to be sexy, although if the scenes in this movie are any indication, she has shattered a bunch of my illusions (I could never understand why guys get turned on by lesbian scenes). I don't think she is as good when she need to be evil, but she is convincing in straight roles (such as the mom in "Santa Claws") and alluring roles (again, when her character is shooting the strip scenes in "Santa Claws") or when she's scared (as in "Abducted 2"). The one constant about Rochon...she sure is easy on the eyes.

A couple other actors give above-average performances. I'm getting old and my memory is failing so I don't remember their names, but the actor that plays Juliet's father does a commendable job, as does the woman who plays Tromeo's...Tromeo?!?!?!...girlfriend (before he meets Juliet), but when you see her you'll know why I like her performance. Who needs silicone! All the other performances are well over the top and on their way down the other side.

As I said, I will always bring up the positive points of the movies I review, so here goes. The overall tone of the movie is fast-paced and has a lot of energy...a lot of shouting, a lot of arms flailing, and none of that introspective acting that sometimes gets in the way of a performance.

Even with her tattoos, numerous body piercings and the darkening of her eyebrows - which I didn't understand - Rochon is a breath of fresh air - literally. When her character sees that Juliet loves Tromeo...Tromeo?!?!?!...and needs to show a hint of a conscience, she makes it believable and it tugged at my heartstrings...but I was drunk when I watched it...

One last thing about Troma itself. I'm not sure if Lloyd Kaufman thinks people watch Troma movies because of him, but his name is the only credit on the front of the video box (directed by...) and appears on the box more times than the title of the movie! Being in advertising myself, I know the theory behind promotion and selling, but the word "subtle" is not in Troma's vocabulary. OK, one more thing - I don't know why, if they shoot on 35mm, everything looks so grainy. Rent a Panavision.

Well, I think I just killed any chance I might have had of working with Troma.

I can see how someone in their early twenties would love this movie. You know, the more I think about it, perhaps this movie wasn't aimed at my demographic. I should have known better when I saw a soundtrack which included bands such as Motorhead, Superchunk, Ass Ponys and Unsane. It's sad that filmmaking at this level has come down to demographics, isn't it?

a decent film...tromatized!
Tromeo and Juliet was a good flick. I am new to troma films, and this is the first one I viewed. I was pleased with it's bizzaire story line which mimiced shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The violence, nudity, sex (read like a cheap porn, which isnt a bad thing mind you!) and overall wierdness that I had heard about and was expecting from Troma was all there, and I loved every bit of it. If you are new to Troma films, you might want to check it out, and if even if you are a rabid fan, you might want to pick this one. The extras are cool to check out too. My eyes must be dead by now.
Sequel to the cult hit THE TOXIC AVENGER is not that good and funny as the original and mote of the gore that makes this series best has been lef out leting the bed acting and comedy take over. If i was you, i wood look for part 1, but wath the hell, this one is worth a look. A "longer Japanese version" and "a U.S. unrated Director's cut" are said to be available. Let's hope so.

Is it in this one or the first one that he finds a wife? Can it happen to a nicer guy all in one video! Toxi has a wife who is buxom, beautiful and blind, but she doesn't care because she loves him as he fights crime and drinks drano. (Sometimes it gives him a little gas. 'Die sonne sheint...')
If you have the first Toxic avenger, go for the gold and get the sequel. If you're not sorry you bought it the first time, you won't be this time around either.

Stay away!
How do Troma have the nerve to sell this as the Director's Cut? It's missing most of the gore, violence and comedy that can be found in the true uncut version available in Japan. Troma always cram their DVDs with extras, some of them quite good, but that doesn't make up for ripping customers off with a useless version of one of their better films.

Not as good as the first
I saw toxie 1 and thought it was the best then I rented part 2 hopeing it would be as good not a chance.First toxies face looked better in the first and his arms didnt look bubbly just white.Also what happend to all the mindless gore instead they have cartoon violence.The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the voice sounds better then in the first one and when he was on the toilet.

A Decent Sequel
A fairly good Sequel that has our toxie going to Japan to find his father and then return home to battle the evil Apocalpyse Inc. Not as good as the original but still worth rental fee. This one is toned down a lot more than the original so most of the blood and gore is absent from this film but other than that its a very entertaining movie that is worth a view or two ... Read more

Sick and twisted baaaaby!!
If your looking at buying this movie then you really don't need to read this review. You know exactly who Troma are and exactly what they do. Troma delight in making the sickest, most twisted, perverted flicks that can be put on film.

Terror Firmer is Troma's swansong (though im sure another will rear its ugly mutant head sometime) and easily sits beside "classics" such as, Tromeo and Juliet, Surf Nazis must Die, Cannibal:The Musical and Toxic Avenger. Definately one of thier best. Its gross, its disgusting, its hilarious and I love it!!

This is an excellent 2 disc set that is an easy buy for any fan of gonzo/horror/sexploitation/weirdo movies. ...

TERROR FIRMER: The One Troma Fans Have Been Waiting For!
TERROR FIRMER is one of Troma's newest films to be released and now it's making it's debut on DVD. I can't wait to get it. I haven't seen the movie but I know the straight plot of it: A low-budget independant film crew find themselves being stalked by a maniac killer. There's plenty of nudity, sex, Troma-tic violence, and bad cheesy acting in general...only from Troma, of course! Well, since I'm a big fan of most Troma movies, I'm giving this one 5 stars before I even watch it. Any Troma fan with a DVD player should just pick this one up!

this movie is bad even for troma. its not gross or shocking or funny. it's very long, i think about 9 hours. i wasn't offended or entertained, just bored and i got diarhea. troma fans are overwight. i bought this movie and i can't get rid of it. i can't sell it to stoners, give it away to homeless people, or trade it for a banana at lunch. it didn't even come with the free poster promised on the case. also it breaks your dvd players

A film writhing in dark humour, gore and a wonderful storyline, Terror Firmer is a must for anyone who loves Troma and anyone who doesn't. The film is one of the best black movies I have ever seen, and I recommend it to you, because it is fantastic and a classic. ... Read more

Possibly the best comedy/horror B-Movie out there!
When I got this on VHS, I expected just the fun that was awaiting to happen. As soon as I saw Melvin and his clownish encounters with Bozo's gang, I couldn't do nothing but laugh hysterically. You should really see how much of a nerd Melvin is. As cheesy as the movie is, it's a classic and it contains non-stop cheesy action, comedy, gore, and everything you can wish for. The story is basically about a 98 lbs nerd named Melvin who works at the Health Club and gets tossed and bullied around. Eventually he gets chased out a window and falls into chemical waste and burns, goes home and voila! becomes The Toxic Avenger! now the rest of the way, you'll have to watch for yourself what he does. I recommend it to all the people out there who enjoy cheesy flicks like 'Killer Klowns from Outer Space' and 'Revenge of the Nerds'. This is the best Troma film ever! hahaha.

The First And Best Of The Toxic Avenger Series!
A 98-pound weakling falls into a barrel of toxic waste and is transformed into a towering hulk of sludge wearing a tutu. At times very gross, the film has developed a cult following.

I love all the violent scenes in this film. It shows you what would happen if you did something like that to someone, but you were to afraid to do it. The violent scenes are also hilarious!
Little kids would just love this film if their parents would let them watch it, which would be really funny.

There aren't too many jokes told in this one. But whenever there are, they are just as funny as Melvin sticking a mop down some guy's throat.

This is the best TOXIC AVENGER film ever. It's a shame that Part 2 & 3 were so bad. Those next two films were horrible. If you want to know what I thought of them, then go check out the sequels and look in the reviews for my name. I'm not going to act like God and tell you to stay away from them. If you want to see them, then go ahead!

I would've actually given this three and a half stars, but since I can't, I'll just give it a fair rate of three stars.

Oh my god!!! It's the Toxic Avenger...
It all started with a Mop Boy...
His name was Melvin...
Hated by just about everyone, they tortured him. After being cruelly humiliated, the hapless Melvin plunges head first into a barrel of some kind of toxic waste, to emerge the next day transformed into: The Toxic Avenger!!!

One of the Troma Greats, the Toxic Avenger is a classic movie in which good seeks out evil, and finds true love... It is a shame that there are only five stars, because this movie breaks the limit. Go for it, you won't regret it at all!!!

Troma's best

A Horror-Comedy comparable to Dead Alive, Army of Darkness, Return of the Living Dead, and Re-Animator. The Toxic Avenger is a cheezy super hero movie, and that's the point. Toxie's erly days, were humble, he was the school nerd who was picked on and teased alot, then one day he falls into some toxic waste and it deforms him, but it gives him superhuman strength, and thus he becomes The Toxic Avenger! If you don't like this film, consider yourself ignorant and in desperate need of therapy. This movie is just flat out funny. Smart people will get it, but the stuck up squares will not. This movie was made this way intentionally. This is the only Trama film worth your time. It's so funny. I haven't laughed so hard in forever. This is a 5 star comedy. I was even shocked at the extent they went, and that is REALLY hard to do. Just when I thought they had covered all aspects of humanity they would add another tid-bit of juicy offensiveness. I was very impressed with the effort that they had obviously put into this film, in excluding nothing from it's insulting and vulgar attacks. It's hilarious, full of cheese, and has plenty of violence. The plot is simple: Toxi gets mixed up with his evil twin Noxi and they end up in each other's different planes of existence-let the fun begin! Fans of troma and Toxi will cherish this movie, after I rented it I had to own it. It also has plenty of extras on the DVD, including a troma triva game. Apocalypse Now
Still loaded with slapstick gore, the bad guys keep Toxie busy. He never does quite clean up Tromaville. Toxic Avenger III, The Final Temptation, is just as good its predecessors, with its Japanese voice dubbing and Toxi's torn tu-tu in dirty off-pink.
The plot takes a twist. Yes, I said plot. He's got to save his blind bombshell wife. Can he use the bad guys to do this? Food for thought as intestinal double dutch gives him a moment to think. Too gross? Can't be. You sat through the head crushing scene in the first one, and If you opted for the DVD, you sat through the uncut version of the head crushing scene, and you kept eating the microwave popcorn. You're just jealous because you can't rip someone's intestine's out the way Toxie can. Reach, rein! Pull, raus!!
You've bought the first one and The Toxic Avenger II... three's the charm or at least the third in the series, so have the whole collection. You'll sit there again in awe. "How does he do that ?"

I feel let down.
I bought this movie having high expectations after seeing the first one(best movie ever created by man). I popped it in and was pissing my pants in excitement. Little did I know that what stood before me would be the biggest let down in my 16 year life. The one part that made me smile was in the beginning when Toxie ripped that bad guy's intestines out and wrapped them around his neck. I have very high hopes for Toxic Avenger 4 since they really need to make up for this one.

This was a Disappointment
As much as I like Troma films, this movie was seriously disappointing. As a fan of the first two films in the Toxic Avenger series I was expecting a lot more from this third installment. Instead, this movie is a large step backwards from the previous two. The acting is horrible, the fight scenes are awful, and the plot is lacking.
And it features one of the worst endings ever. The "videogame" showdown makes little to no sense. Regardless of whether or not you're a Troma fan I recommend steering clear of this one.

If It's A Comedy, Shoudn't It Be Funny?
I laughed a lot to the first TOXIC AVENGER, I laughed a little more to the second TOXIC AVENGER. I may have laughed about twice during the third TOXIC AVENGER. That's right! It's that boring. I assume only a ten year old would like this film. I know I didn't. Again it's nothing like the original, but it's exactly like the second.

What I don't get, is why Apocalypse Inc. is back after Toxie eliminated them. Bringing them back was very unoriginal. They shouldn't even have a crime business in this one, because the first one didn't. The first one was the only one that was a bit realistic.

The only funny part is what Toxie does with a criminal's intestines at the beginning. And the only fight scene worth watching, is the ending. But the ending isn't that great either. That's how bad this film is.
During the film, stars of the movie admit they're in the movie. Not saying that, that is stupid, because there are movies like that. But, the first one didn't mention anything like that, so why should the second?

It just looks as if the directors Michael Herz, and Lloyd Kaufman didn't even try on improving this film. It looks like they were just looking for a few bucks to put in their pocket.

The jokes are old in this one, not that there are many of those in them anyway, but I noticed they stole a joke from the first TOXIC AVENGER hoping people wouldn't notice. For example, the mother being gruesome joke. The actors also can't even make the joke sound funny. The original actor who told that joke made it sound hilarious.

I sure hope CITIZEN TOXIE: THE TOXIC AVENGER PART IV is worth watching when it comes out. I'm hoping that it will be more like the first TOXIC AVENGER.

This film is pretty rare, and the video store I got it at, was the only video store that I've seen it at. So if you feel like this movie is something you need to see, then go ahead and rent it, because that may be your only chance to get it. But don't be a bonehead, and go buy it. Wait to see what you think about it.

Not as bad as people say
Toxic Avenger 3 is my second favorite in the series of three. (soon to be four) The toxic avenger 1 is the best in the series number 2 is the worst because none of the same cast returned and toxies face looked better in the first one and it was boring with toxies woiceover.The third one has some stupid voiceovers but not a lot also some scenes went on way too long.But something they did improve is the gore.In part 2 the gore was replaced with cartoon violence but in part 3 it wasn't cartoony like when he rips out the guys intestine and skip ropes with it.Some other things I like was that it had the same cast even from the first like cirgirface.It even had somethings the first had like toxie wareing the pilon on his head and that joke about mother in laws.All in all toxie 3 was an improvment over part 2 but not better than the first I just hope the fourth ones as good or better than the first. ... Possibly the best comedy/horror B-Movie out there!
When I got this on VHS, I expected just the fun that was awaiting to happen. As soon as I saw Melvin and his clownish encounters with Bozo's gang, I couldn't do nothing but laugh hysterically. You should really see how much of a nerd Melvin is. As cheesy as the movie is, it's a classic and it contains non-stop cheesy action, comedy, gore, and everything you can wish for. The story is basically about a 98 lbs nerd named Melvin who works at the Health Club and gets tossed and bullied around. Eventually he gets chased out a window and falls into chemical waste and burns, goes home and voila! becomes The Toxic Avenger! now the rest of the way, you'll have to watch for yourself what he does. I recommend it to all the people out there who enjoy cheesy flicks like 'Killer Klowns from Outer Space' and 'Revenge of the Nerds'. This is the best Troma film ever! hahaha.

The First And Best Of The Toxic Avenger Series!
A 98-pound weakling falls into a barrel of toxic waste and is transformed into a towering hulk of sludge wearing a tutu. At times very gross, the film has developed a cult following.

I love all the violent scenes in this film. It shows you what would happen if you did something like that to someone, but you were to afraid to do it. The violent scenes are also hilarious!
Little kids would just love this film if their parents would let them watch it, which would be really funny.

There aren't too many jokes told in this one. But whenever there are, they are just as funny as Melvin sticking a mop down some guy's throat.

This is the best TOXIC AVENGER film ever. It's a shame that Part 2 & 3 were so bad. Those next two films were horrible. If you want to know what I thought of them, then go check out the sequels and look in the reviews for my name. I'm not going to act like God and tell you to stay away from them. If you want to see them, then go ahead!

I would've actually given this three and a half stars, but since I can't, I'll just give it a fair rate of three stars.

Hated by just about everyone, they tortured him. After being cruelly humiliated, the hapless Melvin plunges head first into a barrel of some kind of toxic waste, to emerge the next day transformed into: The Toxic Avenger!!!

One of the Troma Greats, the Toxic Avenger is a classic movie in which good seeks out evil, and finds true love... It is a shame that there are only five stars, because this movie breaks the limit. Go for it, you won't regret it at all!!!

Troma's best

A Horror-Comedy comparable to Dead Alive, Army of Darkness, Return of the Living Dead, and Re-Animator. The Toxic Avenger is a cheezy super hero movie, and that's the point. Toxie's erly days, were humble, he was the school nerd who was picked on and teased alot, then one day he falls into some toxic waste and it deforms him, but it gives him superhuman strength, and thus he becomes The Toxic Avenger! If you don't like this film, consider yourself ignorant and in desperate need of therapy. This movie is just flat out funny. Smart people will get it, but the stuck up squares will not. This movie was made this way intentionally. This is the only Trama film worth your time. It's so funny. I haven't laughed so hard in forever. This is a 5 star comedy. Class of Nuk'EM High
Class of Nuk'EM High is one of Troma's better movies but that ain't saying much. The movie is very sloppy and looks like there wasn't much time taken into it, but what do you expect from a B movie? Well there is a lot better B movies out there then this one. It is good for a Troma movie and Troma fans will like it but if you hate Troma movies stay away from this one. I really liked "The Toxic Avenger" and I felt this was a let down compared to that film. Troma made two sequels to this and they were even worse.For a Troma this is good,but they haven't yet made a film really good since "The Toxic Avenger".

CLASS OF NUKE 'EM HIGH is a Troma-tizing Classic!
This is one of the best films out of the Troma Film Library, next to the "Toxic Avenger" of course! The story is about a nuclear power plant that is leaking radiation onto the nearby high school, and turning it's students into the opposites of what they are. Nerds turn into psycho's, preps turn into perverts, and a teen gives birth to a mutant slug that falls into toxic waste and then turns into a giant monster that stalks the high school halls. Sound complicated? It's not. Just pick this one up, you might be surprised. The acting and special effects may seem cheesy, but it's all in good fun.

low budget bliss
this film is abouta guy who works at a nuclear power plant in security and on the side he deals drugs.well,the marijauna he sells the local punks becomes contaminated with nuclear waste and weird stuff galore!nobody anyone has ever heard of plays in tromaville.keep the kids in the next state when you watch this.it has abselutely nothing educational in it whatsoever.it is set in the same place as the toxic waste avenger but is way way better.only those with a dark sense of humor will be able to handle the borderline obscene happenings here.there are hot and cold runnung bimbos all through it but they are all ugly.million dollar boobies with a food stamp face.2 chicks lose thier shirts.this is the epitome of all low budget horror films.
