1-0 out of 5 stars strange
they took a film classic and did a tv-movie sequel to it -- much like the SCARLET sequel to GONE WITH THE WIND. music is good.

5-0 out of 5 stars BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL...THE BEST!
What is it about TV Westerns that make the majority of them so memorable? Perhaps it`s the fact that these films are often made in order to tell a story to the viewers instead of making big bucks or promoting a certain actor.
This film is really great! The story is so well-made that you don`t need to be familiar with or have a particular liking for the original "High Noon" in order to enjoy this movie. The scenery is powerful, the music is beautiful and the characters are,for the most part,interesting-but a funny thing is that it is one of the smaller parts that becomes really big here. Will Kane is one-dimensional and tiresome and his wife Amy almost becomes invisible-but one character, the marshal who tries to keep Kane from returning to his past position and enjoy new triumphs,JD Ward,is remarkable in all his realness-a man with all the faults in the world, whom we still can identify with and even feel sympathy for, because he is portrayed in such a realistic and lively way-unlike for instance Peckinpah`s "bad guys",who seldom become anything more than cardboard characters. All honour to the ones who made this film great!

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb Shoot "Em" Up Western!!
In a large, dusty Texas town called Haderville arrives a terrorizing new Sheriff,J.D. Ward(Pernell Roberts) and his corrupt, vicious gang of thug Deputies.Just released, spending the last 3 years in the Yuma Prison,Ben Irons (David Carradine), who is just passing through town, is mistakingly accused of being a wanted Outlaw with a heavy bounty on his head.Anxious for blood and money,Sheriff Ward and his ruthless Posse go after to shoot down Irons. The only person who knows of Irons innocence is Will Kane (Lee Majors) but is unable to convince Ward and eventually becomes hunted himself. This film is a Superb Shoot "Em" Up Western that is well worth watching!! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Murder Meets Magnum
Although I always love to watch Tom Selleck walk around in shorts, this was not my favorite espiode. Murder She Wrote and Magnum are two great shows, hooowever, the writers of this particular espiode doees not capture either actor magic. "Murder On Ice" was much better. Also anyone who may want to see this espiode may like to check out A&E on cable, they are carrying the Magnum reruns.

5-0 out of 5 stars more magnum please!
What another great episode in the magnum series I'm alsolooking to track down the episode "magnum on ice" as all fans of the show know that the episode follows on from novel connection, just a great shame that all the magnum episodes are not available so i can complete my collection, i can't be the only one out there who thinks this, come on amazon please help us!

5-0 out of 5 stars Magnum P.I. One of the best
Another great episode of Magnum. Can someone please tell me how I can get a hold of the Murder She Wrote episode of Magnum On Ice which guest stars Tom Selleck as Magnum P.I. Thank You. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This would've been good material for MST3K!
William Shatner has to support his life of luxury. Horses, girlfriends. He plays a Presidential candidate in this one. Although I can't say his performance has changed through the years; it was his over acting that makes this so entertaining. The ending where he battles the Jeff Speakman "good guy" character makes this worth it. Seeing Shatner jump out of a helicopter was like somthing out of his Captain Kirk era. Mystery Science Theater 3000 would have a field day with this one! The former program could be revived with all of Shatner's bad films. Now if only he would sell the rights........

1-0 out of 5 stars One star is too generous.
Aiden Carvill (no relation to James, and portrayed by William Shatner) is a Senate candidate who is also the kingpin in a conspiracy of right-wing militias to take over the country. Fortunately, he hires a martial arts expert, former Navy SEAL, and survivor from the explosion of the planet Krypton, whose wife used to drive in demolition derbies, as an aide. When the FBI gets the aide to check on some incriminating info on his boss, he is caught, and the militias make the mistake of going after Superman and his family. The movie goes downhill from there, ending in the hero committing first degree murder. The other members of the conspiracy survive, but apparently are too intimidated by this man to take further action. The bad guy's influence in the Justice Department and the federal judiciary is similarly intimidated. The ghost of Ed Wood may have been involved, but is not mentioned in the credits. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Murky and grim encounter with Christmas skyscraper fire.
I am afraid that this rather murky and smeary print of a most forgettable film does full justice to the original. Materials handled with a certain amount of class in THE TOWERING INFERNO (such as the flashback, the smoke-filled room, the heroic firefighter, etc) here receive short shrift. This is disaster by the book, with little sympathy for the participants, little compassion for the victims, and little effort in the effects.

The print from which this DVD is taken seems in dire need of restoration. Focus is foggy, color faded, images darkened, clips and frames missing.

And yet, if you are a disaster-film junky such as I am, this film at its modest price will be a suitable addition to your collection. ... Read more
