4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Film
While some are trashing this movie cuase its not your typical Dolph film, I'd tell you to rent it anyways--or buy it--like I did. Its not an action flick, so dont think you'll see Dolph with big guns. Its a mystery, so sit back and enjoy. The killer is pretty much known from the get-go, but its still a good film, and Dolph is getting so much better as an actor. Rent Masters of the Universe and then watch Jill The Ripper. You'll see an amazing difference. Kudos to Hickox and Dolph for a job well done.

1-0 out of 5 stars DOLPH LUNDGREN'S WORST MOVIE EVER!
DOLPH LUNDGREN SINKS TO AN ALL-NEW LOW IN THIS MOVIE. THIS TIME, DOLPH PLAYS A FORMER COP WHO RETURNS TO HIS OLD TOWN IN THE 70S TO INVESTIGATE THE MURDER OF HIS BROTHER. DOLPH GIVES WHAT HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST WOODEN PERFORMANCE OF HIS CAREER IN THIS ONE. ACTIONLESS PLOT REALLY KILLS THIS ONE. EVEN THE BIGGEST DOLPH LUNDGREN FAN WILL HATE THIS MOVIE. NOT EVEN WORTH A RENTAL. SAVE YOUR MONEY INSTEAD.

1-0 out of 5 stars It's as stupid as it sounds
This is one of those direct to video movies that you will pass over, and with good cause. This mess of a film is so stupid, sexually tame, kinky extreme, and plot pointless that it's a miracle it was even made. I'm sure the book it was based off of was ok but other than that you really must question why bother.

Dolph Lundergen plays a guy who returns to his home town because his wealthy brother has been murdered. His wife seems upset and the mother is devasted. the movie takes place in the 1970's so they try to have this old movie feel to it. Try again pal. This movie could of easily of have taken place in 1999 and you would have never known. Any ways Dolph wants to find the killer. So he tracks down some of his brother movements and after viewing this video of his bro in a kinky sex act he goes into the under ground sexual organization. Eventually he finds the killer but you will probably be asleep by then.

Don't waste your time.

3-0 out of 5 stars Dolph Lundgren does have acting talent.
Dolph never was a good actor only Blackjack and The Punisher were his moments of good unless he played a villian. but with Jill The Ripper he is the only reason to see such a bizarre film. Lundgren and Brett have on screen chemistry.

2-0 out of 5 stars I think Jills just ripped me off!
Being a BIG fan of director Anthony Hickox, when I saw this movie was available on DVD, I immediately purchased it. However, gone is the trademark Hickox style, eschewing his past "Waxwork" style in favour of a more downbeat work. I secretly hoped it would move along like his movie "Payback", but no, it just ambles along from one scene to the next. However, Hickox's commentary is great. . . funny and sincere. Dolph Lundgren seems to be lost without a big gun or someone to hit, and one only wishes that Hickox would let him loose with a bazooka or something. The DVD is fine, with a crisp picture, and Hickoxs' direction is as stylish as ever. I hope that he will embrace the DVD format further, as I would like to see commentary's on all of his movies. Now, do I buy the other Hickox/Lundgren movie "Storm Catcher"... only time and my bank balance will tell . . . ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE GREATEST HORROR FILMS EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVED this movie. It was one of the most creative movies I've ever seen. And the new Cenobites were just...good. CD Cenobite and Terri were the best. But it also had a great story; you get to see the two sides of Pinhead, his evil side and his good side, Captain Elliott Spenser. Paula Marshall is also a first-class actress, and she's a knockout to boot. And Pinhead's one-liners were the best: J.P. Monroe says "Jesus Christ" to which Pinhead responds "Not quite." This is truly the neglected masterpiece of the Hellraiser saga, only good for intellectuals. Yet, at the same time, it delivers magnificent special effects and gore galore, especially the Boiler Room massacre. "Shall we begin?" "Oh, spirited." The only reason I'm not giving this movie five stars is because Terry Farrell did a lousy acting job. Other than that, the film is easily one of the greatest in the horror genre. Probably THE greatest. "There is no good, there is no evil, there is only flesh."

3-0 out of 5 stars Whatever happened to the Dark and Sinister Pinhead
This has to be the worst installment in the Hellraiser series, mainly because of the direction the series started going with this movie. The dark and evil Pinhead from the previous 2 films is gone and replaced with a More talkative Pinhead who spits one liners left and right. They also stray from the Phychological terror the previous films had, and try to turn it into a slasher film. Another Disappointment are the Cinobytes, which are more laughable than they are scary.I dont recommend this movie to lovers of the original and the great sequel, but if you must watch here is the lowdown. Terry Farrell plays a down on her luck reporter, who witnesses a horrible death that involved a boy getting ripped apart by pinheads hooks and chains. As she begins to investigate the murder, Pinhead talks a extremely cocky bar owner into release him from the statue ( he is now trapped in) by bringing him victims. After he is released, we get treated to a bunch of wise cracks and a few gory deaths and thats about it, no originality and a very stupid and dull story. The only reason i give it 3 stars is because of Terry Farrell's exellent performance. Rated R for Graphic Violence and Gore,Nudity and a strong scene of sexuality

4-0 out of 5 stars Third times the charm!
In my opinion, "Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth" is just as good as the original 1987 cult classic and carries quite the resemblance to it with all the original blood and gore, excellent acting, and the beautiful city scenery that the first also had. (not to mention we see MORE of Pinhead compared to "Hellbound: Hellraiser II") And unlike the first two films, there is a new set of Cenobites with all the freaky accesories and surprises that the Chatterer, Butterball, and the Female Cenobite did not have. (My favorite in this film being the "Disk Jockey" Cenobite!) Doug Bradley also still has the touch to play the diabolical demon who is imprisoned in a cursed stone pillar (see the shocking ending of part 2), but is soon freed where once again all hell breaks loose! Now, a famous news reporter, Joey comes across the mysterious Lament Configuration puzzle box and must use it to send Pinhead and his minions back to hell forever! But with Pinhead getting closer to her every step of the way, it won't be easy! I thought this was a very creative and brilliant installment to the Hellraiser films and I don't understand why some of these reviews are bashing it! Yes, it's no better than the original, but compared to the second it's just about as good! The scene where Joey is chased through the city by the Cenobites (led by Pinhead himself!) had the most dazzling and spectacular special effects out of all the previous films! I only wish I could've seen this masterpiece in the theaters when it came out back in 1992, but unfortunately I was obviously too young at the time. I waited anxiously to see this movie back in the 5th grade and finally I got the chance to first see it when it premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel in '97. (sadly, alot of material was cut out due to that it was edited for Television!) Then I got to see this movie again once on HBO, and it was better than ever! BTW, if you're looking for the best version of this film be sure to pick up the UNRATED version which may be hard to find, but is far better than the R-Rated version. (A lot of the blood & gore was taken out of the original cut) Don't worry about what the other people say (let alone the critics), give this gem a try and you might see what I mean! IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!

3-0 out of 5 stars "I can dream now...and oh, the things I dream!"
So, while many viewers are revolted by these films, looking beyond the blood and gore, another class of fan wants very much to like the Hellraiser series, because it tries so damn hard to be a real saga. Despite the brutal and very specific traumatic/anatomical violence in Hellraiser, there is a lot of philsophy here if you look closely. The images of each Cenobite, perpetually bearing the objects of their torment, are at once disturbing and familiar to viewers who have read Dante. The puzzle boxes that open a portal to Hell once you finally solve them propose an interesting argument about the search for wisdom and its consequences. These movies explore the lasting psychological effects of warfare as well as the anguish of mental illness. Comparisons of sex and death are here too, but hasn't everyone written about that by now?

When I finally saw "part III", I was totally familiar with the Hellraiser mythology, and that may be a necessary prerequisite to appreciating this flick.

3-0 out of 5 stars Hellraiser III. Review!
Not nearly as brilliant and scary as the first two installments though in all honesty, more entertaining. Pinhead is now loose on Planet Earth and he has plenty of fun, terrorizing unsuspecting victims.

This one really is more about how much fun the filmmakers could have causing mayhem in the city with Pinhead. A decent installment but serious fans of the original probably won't enjoy. A lot better than the supposedly final chapter (Bloodline) or any of the horrid straight-to-video sequels. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Joan Severance in noir type thriller
It's Joan Severance. Yeah, she's blonde in this one, but it's still Joan Severance. Black Scorpion. Need I say more? Three stars for the appearance by Joan Severance.

3-0 out of 5 stars Average erotic thriller, made more delicious by Severance
I saw the unrated version of this movie a few years back and I've been leery of buying the R-rated version for fear of significant edits. It's an average B-movie potboiler about an ex-con who finds work and a lot more than he bargained for at a diner in the middle of nowhere.
The luscious Joan Severance (dyed blonde here) stars as the co-owner of the diner, along with her blind husband, who by freak coincidence (or is it?), is a former guard at the prison the ex-con was at. Drifter and wife become lovers and plot against blind hubby.
C. Thomas Howell has been doing satisfactory work in these B-movie roles for years now, and he was almost unrecognizable as the weedy hippie-like ex-con. He did a good job with the character, but looking as he did, it was simply not believable that a hottie like Joan Severance would fall for him. They have some steamy scenes together. Joan is an awesome woman to look at. Eyes that will melt your heart and a body that will not quit.
I'm glad someone pointed out somewhere that this was actually an unofficial adaptation of The Postman Always Rings Twice, made famous onscreen by Jack Nicholson and Jessica Lange. I wouldn't have made the connection immediately.
Severance and Howell seemed to like working together and starred in two other movies together: Dangerous Indiscretion and Matter of Trust.

5-0 out of 5 stars I couldn't take this film off my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the scene in the kitchen and the garage. This is the movie of Joan Severance that i really like most. I've look anywhere for this film, now I'm going to have it. Thanks to amazon.com. But I really love to have it on DVD.

4-0 out of 5 stars Dangerous Indiscretion is thrilling & short
I am reviewing Joan Severance's "Dangerous Indiscretion," also featuring devious Malcolm McDowell and C. Thomas Howell. A free spirit creative ad man, Howell sees Severance and after the predictable chase they couple. Severance's powerful hubby, evil McDowell finds evidence of the liasion & seeks to destroy Howell, beating Severance in the process. McDowell is ruthless. 3-0 out of 5 stars average film, but a real treat for severance fans
The plot of this movie is pretty lame and standard. It's not a ba movie though. The only bad part is the end,it really sucked but pretty much the only way the movie could end. One warning though, if you are looking for a happy ending where the guy walks away with the dough and the girl, you won't find it here. Other than that this movie is o.k, though slow. And severance turned out to be a better actress than I thought. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Campy Chessy Classic
First off, if you don't like horror movies, or just 80's movies in general, you're not going to like this one at all. But if you do, you MUST see this, becuase it is essential to any horror buff's collection. The plot centers around an Anytown,USA type place that suddenly has a local Waxwork mueseum. While walking to school Deborah Foreman and Michelle Johnson are invited to a private showing of the waxwork by the owner himself. Thus, the girls invite Zach Galligan and a few other friends from college to come along. It turns out that the waxwork specializes in murder scenes, and if you get close enough to an exhibit, you will be transformed into its world. That is how Dana Ashbrook meets and becomes a wolfman, and how Michelle Johnson gets a kiss from Dracula. Other classic villains shown; Marquis De Sade, the Mummy, and some zombies a la Night of the Living Dead. It is up to Zach Galligan to unearth some secrets about his family that will help him destroy the Waxwork and its evil owner. My favorite aspects of this movie: the fact that it is made in the 80's, giving it an automatic layer of cheese...Deborah Foreman's performance, as the stereotypical "nice girl," (though her character in April Fool's Day was much more convincing and entertaining)...and the way the director not only pays homage to horror classic, but also the way he pokes fun at it. I'm not completely sure he did this on purpose, but certain scenes involving Dana Ashbrook's character and the local sherriff suggest that the tone of the film was meant to be both comedic and horrific. Even though the movie is not completely brilliant or polished, it still provides entertainment to a certain audience who typically enjoys these kinds of flicks. P.S. Don't bother with the sequel.

4-0 out of 5 stars So Bad it's HILARIOUS
Horror movies are great. At times REALLY bad horror movies are even better. The acting and plot on this is so sub-par that you begin to think that they meant it to be that awful. Which I think they did. The basic concept of the movie is actually quite clever...waxwork scenes that are only missing the "victim" and unsuspecting teens stepping into the gory role. Don't think this is something that I would view over and over again. But definitley a great flick when you have a bunch of friends over and you're all drunk.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Flick!!
I have seen this movie at least 20 times and it gets better each time I watch it! Who can resist David Warner in anything?? This movie has everything. Gore, sexuality, and comedy. Who can forget Dana Ashbrook's classic line "Who put the acid in my drink again, China!" Too funny for words.

5-0 out of 5 stars Waxworks Review
I thought this movie was good!I've seen it about 3 times....but only once all the way through. Honestly....I don't know how people can dislike it. If you didn't think the movie itself was good, you at least had to like the scenes with Marquis de Sade in them. Not only is he one of the villians that actually are interesting, the acting is really good. He's one of the reasons that I liked the movie. That and I've known him in a past life......but that's a different story all together.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Bit Ashamed
I think the only reason I liked this movie was because of the scenes with the Marquis de Sade. Sorry to say. That was my past life though, so I'll shut up about that. Anyway, actually, it's a fun film and I heard Dario Argento is admired and was an influence on Hickox, so he can't be that bad (you can see it in some of the scenes which are Argento-like). And of course the Marquis de Sade. Sorry. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Sundown: the Vampire in Retreat
Robert Van Helsing (Bruce Campbell) is an incompetent descendant of Count Dracula, exploring the small town of Purgatory in search of his infamous ancestor. But Purgatory is inhabited by reclusive vampires who prefer to take it easy and lounge around in sunglasses and sun cream - a protection against the sun's deadly rays. There is no sign of the Count.

David Harrison (Jim Metzler) is an expert in the production of synthetic blood, hired to assist in a project that will ensure the vampires of Purgatory no longer need to kill for food. He is nevertheless unaware that Purgatory is populated by the undead, thinking his work as part of an official experiment.

Things go wrong, though. The equipment suddenly ceases to work and the evil Shane (Maxwell Caulfield), the project's original creator, turns up to investigate. He falls in love with Harrison's beautiful wife and, meanwhile, some of the toothy townspeople decide that the traditional ways of obtaining blood are preferable.

A war inevitably breaks out, resulting in vampire against human, vampire against vampire. Good versus evil.

SUNDOWN is directed by Anthony Hickox of WAXWORK, WAXWORK 2: LOST IN TIME, and HELLRAISER 3: HELL ON EARTH fame. It is a low budget, off-beat film that is perhaps not to everyone's taste. Somewhere in between comedy and horror, SUNDOWN has nevertheless gained cult status, similar to other films in this subgenre like THE LOST BOYS, FRIGHT NIGHT, INNOCENT BLOOD, TALES FROM THE CRYPT: BORDELLO OF BLOOD, and A RETURN TO SALEM'S LOT.

The Cast is well chosen: Maxwell THE SUPERNATURALS Caulfield, Dana TWIN PEAKS Ashbrook, Bruce EVIL DEAD Campbell, and David KUNG FU Carradine, who plays Jozek Mardulak aka Count Dracula. M. Emmet Walsh delivers a hilarious performance as Mort Brisby, an ageing vampire/gas station attendant, but SUNDOWN inevitably belongs to Campbell.

Point of interest: Hickox's WAXWORK starred Dana Ashbrook, and his sequel WAXWORK 2: LOST IN TIME starred Caulfield, Campbell, and Carradine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sundown, The Vampire In Retreat Review
A great "horror" flick that falls somewhere between The Exorcist and Scooby Doo On Zombie Island. Not only does this classic need to return on video, but a special edition DVD is definitely called for. Ranking high on the all-time greatest vampire movie list, it is in a class with Near Dark and Lost Boys.

2-0 out of 5 stars bruce campbell fans can skip this
This is for Bruce Campbell fans: If you're looking to buy this because the coolest B movie star ever is in it, don't bother. The movie is dumb, not the kind of dumb that's kitchy and good. I mean just dumb. Bruce is in it yes, but his character makes no sense. In fact, this movie just makes no sense. Put evil dead back in you dvd player, or hold out for Bubba Ho Tep, or reread his book. But don't bother with this. I give it two stars only because Bruce is in it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Vampire Comedy for Diehard Fans
This comedy is so goofy you can't help but like it. The town is inhabited entirely by vampires and they are trying to use a new plasma producing device to supply their need for blood. The machine isn't working properly so the designer comes to town with his family in tow to see what the problem is. We quickly learn there are two factions of vampires, those that want to live in peace with humans and those who want to make them their next meal. Tongue firmly planted in cheek, we wind our way to the final conflict between the good and evil vampires. If you liked movies like "Dracula, Dead and Loving It" this one should be right up your alley.

4-0 out of 5 stars Collision for Western and Horror
Sudown is an interesting little film from Anthony Hickox who has directed such films as Waxwork and Hellraiser 3. This little gem is quite good because it has many things going on. It has focus on the family relationships after they arrive at Purgatory, Van Helsing's inept grandchild (Bruce Campbell) and war with two kinds of vampires. Cast was great. David Carradine showed charm in the role of the leading vampire. Bruce Campbell was hilarious as usual. John Ireland was similiar villain as David Warner in the Waxwork. Nice movie for evening in little town. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Waiting for the sequel
I liked this video very much. Stephen Moyer plays Val perfectly. I've read the books (I loved them) and he was just like I imagined Valiant. The part of the princess was also very well done by Katherine Heigl. My only dissapointment was that in the comic strip Val's great love was Aleta, the beautiful heroine who with her charm and witt conquered all hearts, including Val's. I wish the lead female role would have been hers. Of course the first movie had to explain how Val came to be a knight. I hope the film company will make another one. Pitty that Katherine can't play Aleta because she would have been a great Aleta. Thank you so much for making a life long dream of seeing these caracters on screen a reality. GREAT MOVIE.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Light
My wife and I were in the mood for a good adventure film so we watched Prince Valiant. This movie is a sort of prequel to the popular comic strip that has been running since my father was young.

The movie begins with Valiant being the squire of Sir Gawain during a tournament at Camelot. When Gawain is unseated and knocked out Valiant disguises himself in Gawain's armor and all but wins the tournament. he would have won except that Vikings had entered Camelot and stolen Excalibur. The Vikings have left evidence to make it look like the Scotts have committed the crime. Thus most of Britain's armies proceed North while Valiant, still disguised as Gawain, escorts a princess back to Wales.

Morgan Le Fey, who is behind the Viking raid on Camelot, uses her magic to discover who can pull Excalibur from a stone in which it has found itself. She sees a vision of Valiant in Gawain's armor and a raid is planned to capture Gawain. When Gawain fails at pulling the sword he is killed. It is now up to Valiant to regain Excalibur. It turns out that Valiant is heir to the Viking throne as he is the last surviving member of the Red Stallion Clan. Valiant gets Excalibur, rescues the princess (who dies and is brought back to life by Excalibur), returns Excalibur to Arthur and asks for the princess's hand in marriage. Valiant then joins Arthur as a knight of the Round Table. This then sets the stage for the comic strip.

What is strange is that Prince Valiant never knew he was a prince. When he learns of his heritage, he is actually a king. It all means that he never actually gets to be known as "Prince" Valiant (although he is called "Prince" by the other knights even though he is a king). Also, when the princess is dying, Valiant challenges God to save her or make a new enemy. It is Excalibur, powered by the gods of Avalon, that responds. Prince Valiant is a fun adventure movie but one that really makes no sense whatsoever. However, if you are looking for adventure, this movie will fit the bill.

5-0 out of 5 stars 2 thumbs and 8 fingers up!
I absolutely LOVED it! I was never really into the comic strips, and i haven't read the book, but i can definately assure you that i will be now! i wanna find out what happens to Prince Valiant in his new adventures. ^_^

5-0 out of 5 stars Wait for the DVD
I loved this movie, not least because my dad used to read the comic strip to my brother and me when we were very young. It's a captivating fantasy, and the movie is light-hearted and beautifully done. Still, I'd suggest waiting for the DVD, mostly because $80 for VHS these days is absurd.

5-0 out of 5 stars I think this movie rocks!
I liked it because it had humore in it and romance and lots and lots of adventure! now those are almost hard to find I thought it wouldn't be too good BUT I WAS WRONG and I think a lot of other people would like this movie too. So order it right now and I think you'll like it. ... Read more

And severance turned out to be a better actress than I thought. ...

At same time he is trying to get zoning approval for a lakeside complex. There are lots of ruthless scenes along with some moments of tender love. Not typical sexploitation. Engaging plot, moves along, a few touching moments. 81 minutes. This is an enjoyable above average film that keeps flowing. Severance's acting rivals her beauty. This is the VHS "Dangerous Indiscretion." Clever uses of photo tampering shown. Howell's support lady is a doll. I highly recommend this film. Short, moving, engaging thriller.

5-0 out of 5 stars SERIOUS FUN
If you don't have a sense of humor or an appreciation for classic horror you won't like this film. It's a montage of homage that is devoted to capturing the pace, direction style, acting style, dialogue etc. of such films as Alien, The Haunting, Dawn of The Dead, Nosferatu on a relatively low budget. The pared down scenes accentuate the spoof sentiment and remind us why horror is fun. Take the Alien scene, hard talkin', pulse rifle carrying space marines complete with transmission samples as background juxtaposed to the reefer madness-esque black and white, highly stylized scene of The Haunting. Battling evil can be funny and Bruce Campbell's cameo, as well as others, lends support. If nothing else, it's a treasure hunt for horror genre fans.

1-0 out of 5 stars a sequel to a dumb movie
this is a notch better then the original only because of the black and white bit with Bruce Campbell, he's the highlight in this movie. the cast like Zach Galligan, David Carradine, Martin Kemp, Michael Des Barres,Alexander Godunov and Maxwell Caulfield who is horrible gay are completely and utterly wasted and if you want to see a gay, and I mean gay apprentice, Des Barres is all that and a bag of chips. the beginning is sucky and the ending is suckier. Hickox is a horrible director. the rap song at the end is snazzy and catchy. look for Drew Barrymore in a cameo in the bit where Galligan and Godunov go threw time fighting, look for her with another girl in that Nosferatu bit.

4-0 out of 5 stars Oh come on, of course it's cheesy...
When I first saw this a few years ago, I found it absolutely hilarious. From the opening scenes where the two kids are arrested, dealing with the eternal post-horror movie question how the hell do these kids explain away these bodies bodies once the police arrive?', to the numerous pastiches of horror classics, just sit back and enjoy the stupidity. With cameos galore, this quite rightly blows the feeble-minded horror parodies such as Scary Movie out of the water. This is the poor-horror movie fan's poor horror movie (if you get what I mean).

4-0 out of 5 stars A much better parody of horror movies than Scary Movie.
Damn, this movie is great! It's so bad, it's great. Of course, the director meant for it to be bad. The Wax museum from the first burns down, and Zach Galligan's character is blamed for it. Now, him and his girlfriend must go back in time to right their (supposed) wrongs. A lot of cheesy special FX and one of the most sickening head-crushing scenes I've ever seen on a movie. (The lead singer of Spandau Ballet gets his face crushed by Frankenstein until his eyes, as well as his brain(?) pops out.) The Aliens parody is hilarious, as well as corny (which makes it hilarious), and the scene with Bruce Campbell is way over-the-top...that's the only way to put it, watch it and you'll see, and watch for the cameo by Drew Barrymore toward the end. All this and a bad, bad, bad rap video during the closing credits...what a great movie.

1-0 out of 5 stars BAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDD Movie!
This movie [stinks] beyone belief. Even though most peoples reviews said it was crap, i said i'd give it a chance. How wrong
i was.
This movie is pure cheese, I mean when sarah goes home and she turns out to live in this dump with a lush for a father.
Yeah cos u can dress like her and live in a cardboard box. And then in the courtroom, it was the hand, the hand, pure
philadelphia cream cheese. And the horror scenes are just crap, the alien one is terrible (sigourney weaver rip off).
And the haunted house with deanna troy from star trek trying, and i emphasise on the word trying to act all moody,
thinking she might make money from this piece of tripe when in fact she probably hurt her career severely. And the girl
who replaced the original sarah was terrible, come to think of it i've never seen her in anything else, surprise surprise.
Just take my advice and do not purchase this movie it's awful, no wonder it's limited availability, most copies have
probably been burned at the stake. If there was a no star rating i would give it that but i can't, i think. I CANNOT
STRESS THIS ENOUGH """""DO NOT BUY THIS"""""" It's Pure [junk], Only buy it if you want your friends to think you have
no life, bye. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Middle of the road. That's it, and that's all!
This movie is nothing more than an attempt to cash in on the first one's success. Julian Sands once again returns as Satan's son, but he seems to be sleepwalking this go-round. Two disposable teenage actors (Paula Marshall and Christopher Young), play two descendants of Druid warriors who are the ONLY people who can fight the Warlock and prevent him from releasing Satan into Earth. Oh, and there are six rune stones or something he has to possess to unlock Satan from the bowels of the Earth (etc.etc.). You get the idea.

Anyway, this has some pretty decent effects, and some pioneering computer animations, but all in all, it's a very weak film, and, putting the special effects aside, there's not much left but incompetent acting and cheap thrills. If you like the Warlock films or love Julian Sands, buy this one, or if you're curious, buy it, but overall, you could skip it without really missing anything.

Warlock:The Armageddon is an enjoyable watch. I bought this DVD because 1.Anthony Hickox directed it. 2.Monika Schnarre has a small part in it. I hadn't seen it before when I purchased this film, but I enjoyed it. I love what Anthony Hickox did with this sequel. The special effects, a good cast. I love Paula Marshall (from 'Hellrasier 3)- what a talented and likeable actress. I got a thrill seeing Monika Schnarre again in a small part as a runway model.

I hope that anthony Hickox would make more films like this.

1-0 out of 5 stars Druidism and Satanism?
I have to say, that I am really into Horror-Films, also if they have a satanic touch; but when I saw, that this film is a mixing of old pagan-rites with satanic rites I came into rage. For myself Wicca and celtic Rites of Paganism are wonderful Ways and I learned, that Pagans do not believe in Satan! So, this story is one of the worst, I've ever seen! If the producer would describe kabbala-rites, which would be more suitable than pagan-rites, this film would be a little bit more interesting...

But sorry, Paganism and Satanism... nothing has to do with each other...

3-0 out of 5 stars Decent plot, but very weak ending.
A comedy? Hardly. This movie has some very good action scenes and an engaging (if predictable) plot. Overall, the movie is entertaining, but somebody really missed the opportunity for a great ending. I won't blow it for you by describing how they missed it, but if you do watch this one you'll probably have the same perception -- something is missing at the end, but there's not enough missing to expect a sequel (not to say that they won't cobble one together).

3-0 out of 5 stars A bizarre comedy, made watchable by Meyer and Assante.
This film isn't much of an action thriller, contrary to what the cover suggests. There's a lengthy shootout scene at the end, but most of the film is an excessive, violent, aiming-to-be-hip comedy which does draw some good laughs, but ultimately falls short of being a good film.

Dina Meyer all but owns the picture. She single-handedly drives the action, and she's clearly having a ball with the scheming, none-too-bright character. She also supplies the film with its best scene, the seductive cat-and-mouse at the police luncheon. It's precisely this spark that Angela Featherstone lacks -- playing the wounded housewife, Featherstone offers nothing we haven't seen before. A shame, because she'd started her career in an array of strange roles, most memorable being Dark Angel: The Ascent -- not the James Cameron TV show, but the Full Moon Pictures gore film. She's become a token actress with soft eyes and elvish haircut, offering no surprises or star quality. Armand Assante's role in the picture isn't all that large, frankly, but he does appear more confident than most of the other actors. Too bad he and Meyer don't really have scenes together; Meyer is a much better actor than Featherstone for Assante to play opposite.

There are some good sight gags -- the golf-club gag, the aforementioned police luncheon -- but some of that is negated by over-the-top violence. Director Anthony Hickox is at fault -- what did you expect from the director of Hellraiser III? As he deserves credit for the inventiveness of the comedic routines, so he deserves blame for the excessive gore-as-sight-gag scenes, which are never as funny as they think they are.

Worth a look, but not much more.

4-0 out of 5 stars Supporting cast protects "Protection"
Federal protection is stylishly directed be Anthony (Hell Raiser)Hickox. Visions of early Tarantino are evident here, as comedy mixes with violence. Although Armand Assante is the big name draw on this video box, it is the supporting cast who steal the show.

Dina Meyer and David Lipper are simply the most interesting to watch, as they combine a sexy performance with great comedic timing. Assante is his usual solid self, staying with the familiar gangster role.

I reccommend this film to anyome who likes movies such as Reservoir Dogs, The Heist, and Witness. ...

Sorry. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad at all
After reading the other reviews, had to write this. I enjoyed the movie, thought the acting was allright, and the story line was pretty good. Also liked Bruce Payne in it. Not a great movie, but worthwhile werewolf movie to watch

2-0 out of 5 stars Good Idea, poor execution....
What can I say? I love werewolf movies. But this one bites. (No pun intended). Max Dire (more wolf pun names), is a down-on-his-luck police detective. With a series of tragic events threatening to overwhelm him, Max gets involved with a therapy group whose leader is a werewolf (the Howling anyone?)

At first intrigued by the group, Max soon learns that these officers mean business - they're injecting werewolf blood to fight crime.

Okay, if you're like me, you might think the plot of this movie sounds cool. Werewolves as 'good guys?' A horror/police action movie? Well, I think again. The movie has some decent special effects, but THAT'S ALL. The script is poorly handled, the dialog amateurish, and the acting like cardboard. If you want a good 'werewolf movie' see dog soldiers. Much better.

3-0 out of 5 stars Different view on werewolves
It's always fun to see a different view on things. In this movie
we have werewolves in a special police task force. The acting is sometime cheesy, but, the storyline was interesting. If you are into werewolves put this one in your collection.

3-0 out of 5 stars DVD is Unrated!
Forget what the box says, and what other people have said here, this is the 97 minute unrated version. This is not the first title put out by a company stating it was an R when in fact it was the unrated version, probably because they wanted to get past the chain store censors that won't carry anything harder than an R rating.

1-0 out of 5 stars I love this movie, but not the DVD.
Full Eclipse is a fun flick that works both as a monster flick and a cop flick. A special team of cops are actualy half werewolves, made so by enjecting the blood of thier team leader who is a full blooded werewolf. Things seam to be going great with their new found super powers and senses, unaware that continuous use of the wolf blood may eventualy lead to some unwanted side effects.

If you like action movies and monster movies, you may want to check this one out. Beware, however, that the DVD version of this flick is the R rated version. You might want to shop around for the unrated VHS release or catch it in it's complete form when it pops up on HBO.

3-0 out of 5 stars Watchable, but dopey...
Good ol' direct-to-video Dolph (Lundgren, that is), stars in this fanciful tale of conspiracy. His character, Major Jack Holloway (family-man and top secret stealth jet pilot), gets the blame when the new stealth jet he flies gets stolen from its secret base. The jet is just jam-packed with oodles of new stealth tech, and Dolph quickly goes on the square-jawed rampage to try and determine who stole the jet so he can clear his name. Along the way, he gets the help of his buddy Captain 'Sparks' Johnson, and a pair of FBI agents.

First off, this is not a movie that is in any danger of being nominated for an Oscar. That being said, there's actually a lot to like here, despite the Made-for-the-USA-Network feel of the production.

Yvonne Zima plays Holloway's stereotypical daughter-in-danger. Probably the best known cast member besides Lundgren, Zima played a regular character on "E.R.", Rachel Greene. She has also appeared in "Bed of Roses", and as another "daughter-in-danger" in "The Long Kiss Goodnight". She's really pretty good, and avoids the pitfalls of being the annoying, helpless kid that is the usual path for this kind of character in action movies.

As an arch nemesis, Robert Miano lends a degree of credibility to an otherwise direct-to-video offering. He has the proper weight as an actor to play a believable bad guy, and he serves admirably here. Proof that a good actor can overcome a weak script.

Mystro Clark is also pretty good as the ground controller buddy of Holloway, Captain "Sparks". Think of him as a sort of toned-down version of Chris Tucker (who himself is a sort of a toned-down Martain Lawrence). Playing both comedy and more serious moments seemed to come easily to him, and I hope he has more opportunities to both show and fine-tune his acting talents.

The best unknown of the bunch, however, has to be the lovely Kimberley Davies as half of an FBI duo of agents trying to crack the case of the mysterious anti-government conspiracy. Probably one of the most beautiful women in front of a camera today, Davies is better known for her work in the UK and Australia than she is here in the USA (hopefully this will change).

Besides the cast, I did like some of the location work, and the decent footage of what appeared to be a real stealth fighter. You won't see anything shatteringly awesome here, unless it is the shot from a camera bolted onto a van that gets blown up and flips end over end. Personally, however, I thought Airwolf could have taken out the fancy stealth plane with no problem.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very bad film.
In fact it's even worst than that. Why on earth Dolph agreed to do this I'll never know. Maybe he just had some spare time. But he could have done something more worthwhile than this bore.

The story focuses on Jack Holloway who test flies a top secret plane (badly woven-in stock footage of a real plane that is not called Storm Catcher is used as well as footage from Under Siege 2) and is framed for stealing it and hiding it in a hut out in the desert. Or something. The way the story develops is VERY cliched although I never did see the "twist" coming so it kind of did succeed there.

There are a few redeeming features. Like Mystro Clark as "Sparks" and there are 2 oddball special agents who crop up every now and again but serve no real purpose other than to look like Hugo Weaving from The Matrix. I tell ya, the resembelence is uncanny. The woman who plays Holloways wife is badly miscast although his daughter is a rather good actress.

Director (and Hugo Weaving lookalike) Anthony Hickox insists on using handheld cameras in scenes that don't them and steadicam on scenes that do. I don't know what his method or technique of film-making is but it's plain bad.

The tagline for this dreck (Convicted of treason. Sentenced to death. One chance to set the record straight) is totally wrong too and gives you the impression that the story is going to build to a more satisfying climax. But it doesn't. Dolph is neither convicted nor is he sentenced so that is a huge lie.

Watch this movie on TV but do NOT rent it and do NOT buy it like I did. Save your money for Dolph's best movie...Joshua Tree.

The DVD is in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen with Dolby 5.1 sound. Director Anthony Hickox's commentary is PRICELESS. He totally rips the film apart calling it all the worst names under the sun and admits how awful it is. He only made it to pay the bills apparently. Well, work is work huh?

3-0 out of 5 stars PRETTY NICE
Solid action thriller with swedish action star Dolph Lundgren.
There something that would hace wanted more in this one but still worth a look.

4-0 out of 5 stars An entertaining action movie
This movie has a good plot, fight scenes and decent flying effects. the wife is awful, but you dont see her that much so it isnt so bad. dolph is in his prime-with a good suspenseful soundtrack, this is thaeatrical stuff.

4-0 out of 5 stars Dolph Lundgren- need I say more?
After reading the above review I had to put one in. Lundgren does not make the best films, but they are all entertaining. This movie is a classic plot, good military versus bad military in a fight for time in order to save his family and the President. It is a cute movie, and it is not as bad with the special effects as the above person pretends. (Although the woman that plays his wife is pretty awful.) I recomend you rent it and then decide. But at least give it a chance. ... Read more
