I loved it!!!
Wow, this movie has gotten some bad reviews. I guess that's how it is with most sequels, but I loooooved "Look Who's Talking Too." It's my favorite of the three, and I thought it was MUCH better than the original. Mikey is about 2 years old now, and he's adorable! Bruce Willis returns as the voice of Mikey, and Roseanne Barr is cast as the voice of Mikey's new baby sister Julie. Now Mikey is being potty-trained, he's trying to get along with Julie but it's not easy, and the parents (Travolta and Alley) are going through marital problems. I enjoyed every minute of this movie. It's cute, funny, and very good, considering it's a sequel. I hope this review was helpful.

Baby Talk 2
LOOK WHO'S TALKING TOO(the synonym of "also" used in place of the number 2) was theatrically released just before Christmas 1990,a little over a year after the first film was released. Now,there are two talking babies named Mikey and Julie,voiced by Bruce Willis and Roseanne Barr,respectively. Barr was at the time,a fairly new television star bearing her first name. She had broken ground in 1988 with the sitcom co-starring John Goodman,who would be a sometime movie star himself. Kirstie Alley and John Travolta reprise their roles of Mollie and James,now a married couple. This film introduces Mollie's brother Stuart(Elias Koteas). Stuart is an accountant just like his sister. James is not driving taxis much anymore,his main job being an airline pilot(as what Travolta does in real life). One night,Stuart shows up at Mollie and James' apartment. James believes Stuart is a maniac who is scaring Mikey and Julie. In another scene,James returns home to a gun pointed at him by Stuart. Stuart mistook James for an intruder or a burglar. "Why do have a gun in my house?",a somewhat angry James asks him. "There are kids here!",James then says. When James goes to bed he refers to Stuart as "Travis Bickle",Robert DeNiro's character in the 1976 film "Taxi Driver". James is fed up with Stuart's presence in the Ubriaccos' home and suggests to Molly that he stay with Mollie's mom and dad. "They'd kill each other",she tells James. This leads to a heated argument causing the Ubriaccos to briefly separate. In a later scene,a fire breaks out in the kitchen,extinguished by James. Mikey and Julie exit the building via an elevator. A thief breaks into the Ubriaccos' apartment and is discovered and captured by Stuart. Mollie's best friend Rona(Twink Caplan),who was also in the first film,was so proud of Stuart's heroism that she suggested that she and Stuart marry,since they've been romantically involved. In the last scene,James,Mollie,Mikey,Julie,Stuart,Rona and Mollie's and Stuart's mom and dad are all picnicking somewhere.

Hysterical sequal, If you have kids, You'll Love It
Most parents will truly appeciate the nuances of this very funny movie. While some of the humor is simplistic, the humor is seen through the eyes of two children, so there is a need for an occasional poke in the ribs. For those of us who have had the blessing of watching our children develop, and have found the wonderful place in our hearts that only our children can touch, the humor rings true. Roseanne Barr delivers a surprisingly authentic and precious interpretation of the mind set of Julie, the younger sister. Bruce Willis is still quite convincing as the older brother Mikey. There are script problems with the adult story lines. It is very hard to believe that mom - Molly - allows a very dangerous person to take care of the kids. Molly's brother, while acted well, only rises to comic book stature. But you will want to watch this again and again, for the reason you watched the first time, to touch that place in your heart where you store the memories of your own children.

Another one of the worst sequels ever made.
Along with "Problem Child 2", "Look Who's Talking Too" is one of the worst sequels ever made. In a series of films, it's usually the second movie that is the worst. This one tops the original film in terms of bathroom humor and bad acting. These two ingredients are EVERYWHERE in this film! Both Kirstey Alley and John Travolta are terrible in their fighting scenes. Add in two of the most obnoxious comedians on the planet [Roseanne Barr and Gilbert Gottfried] to the mix, and you have got one big stinker of a movie.

Not as good as the original, but still worth watching.
This is the weakest addition to the "Look Who's Talking" series. It is sort of slow, and has some embarassing moments (esp. from John Travolta) but if you can get past all of that, then you will enjoy this sequel. Bruce Willis is, once again, the voice of Mickey.

Great Adaptation
A wonderful up to date retelling of Jane Austen's, 'Emma'. Cher (Silverstone) has a privileged life, she goes to a great school and is popular along with her good friend Dionne (Dash).

She lives with her widowed father (Hedaya) and the only pebble under her perfectly manicured feet is her ex step-brother Josh (Rudd).

Cher loves to play matchmaker and can't resist the challenge when she meets the new girl in school, Ty, who isn't exactly 'popular' material at first glance. Having taken her under her wing and given her a complete makeover, Cher then tries to match her up with various boys.

This is alright until Ty takes a fancy to Josh and then Cher suddenly realises that she has feelings for him herself - but who will get the man?

Silverstone is absolutely fantastic in this film. She handles the difficult role SO well and you can't help but really like Cher and want her to get the man of her dreams for all her obvious flaws.

Add a brilliant combination of comedy, both oneliners and visual, and the fact that it's literally such a colourful movie and you've got yourself a film that will leave you smiling for ages afterwards.

This clever, modern retelling of Jane Austen's novel "Emma " was one of the best high-school theme films made in the past twenty years. Written and directed by Amy Heckerling ("Fast Times at Ridgemont High"; "Look Who's Talking) spent a year in the lives of several teens at various high schools in Los Angeles to give the filmgoer a truly authentic look at life among the young social elites of Southern California.

Alicia Silverstone ("Excess Baggage"; "Batman & Robin") stars as Cher Horowitz, a young, hip teen residing with her lawyer father (Dan Hedaya) in Beverly Hills. Along with best friend Dionne (Stacey Dash of "Mo' Money"), the girls are the doers of social good deeds at their high school. Whether it is trying to play matchmaker for two lonely teachers (playwright Wallace Shawn and Twink Caplan, who is also an executive producer of the film) or doing a serious make over for Tai (Brittany Murphy) a new, dowdy student from the east coast, Cher is the toast of the school among her peers.

However, playing matchmaker for others has made Cher realized that she too needs to find someone special in her life. Pestered by her ex-stepbrother Josh (Paul Rudd) in doping deeds that benefits others and not only herself, Cher discovers that what she truly needs is a spiritual makeover that will allow her to attain happiness and respect. Yet, she wonders why it bothers her so much on what Josh is thinking? As the story progresses, we discover that opposites attract and Cher has realized how "clueless" she was while looking for Mr. Right.

Wonderfully directed and casted,"Clueless" features some memorable performance by Julie Brown (as Ms. Stoger, the physical education instructor), Donald Faison (as Dionne's boyfriend Murray) and Justin Walker, as Christian Stovitz. Walker who plays his role with comedic sensibility is great and witty as the boy Cher has the hots for, although she has little knowledge about his background.

"Clueless" is one of the best films released in the 1990's due to his smart use of popular lexicon, icons, and attitudes that can be attributed to most American teenagers. This is Silverstone's greatest performance to date, seeing that most of her later works did not go well with critics or filmgoers. Although a television series based on the film was launched in 1997, it couldn't capture the charm, wit, and performances of this film. "Clueless" is a classic teenage film you can watch over and over again. It's destined to become a cult classic

Clueless... uhhh
What can I say about this movie? It's like any other teenage movie, about teenagers in high school trying to meet cute guys and stuff. Same old thing! I used to not like it at the beginning, but now I sorta like it, it's alright. I got it as a present for my 8th grade birthday party, I didn't even know that movie until I got it. So anyways, I think you should buy this movie even if you dont like teenager movies, youll like this one!

This dispensable 1984 comedy is a mostly humorless parody of '30s gangster movies, the kind of thing that might work reasonably well in a five-minute sketch on Saturday Night Live but which nearly beats a viewer to death over the course of a feature. Michael Keaton and Joe Piscopo play rival Mafia bosses, but once the novelty of that is introduced, it's already old. Hysterical gangster spoof--a cult classic!
This is one of those movies which will have you repeating lines over and over to your friends.

Twelve-year-old Johnny Kelly earns an honest living as a paperboy with his prematurely aged mother and his law-engrossed little brother, Tommy. To pay for an urgent surgery for his mother (the first of a seemingly eternal series), Johnny joins the mob and grows to adulthood as a suave ladies' man. But first, rival crime boss Roman Moroni (Richard Dimitri, who murders the English language and his rivals) (Moroni had a lot of rules for his gang. Number one: never park in his private parking space (explosion)) and later, fellow gang member Danny Vermin (Joe Piscopo) will pay any price to stop him . . . not to mention Tommy, who has just graduated from law school and intends to fight crime, not knowing that his brother runs most of it!

Absolutely hysterical. Maureen Stapleton delights as Ma Kelly, and Griffin Dunne turns in an absolutely hysterical straight man role as Tommy Kelly, and is played upon by Johnny (Michael Keaton), Stapleton, and Danny DeVito (as Tommy's crooked boss, District Attorney Burr, who subsequently dies in a beer commercial). Watch for a hysterical performance by Hal Riddle, as an obsequious prison warden, anxious to do anything possible for his celebrity prisoner. (When Johnny asks to have his execution moved up as part of an escape plot, "Fry me tonight!", Riddle replies "Anything for you, Johnny! . . . We'll bump Steinberg. Dangerously will go to the chair tonight.")

The plot doesn't make much sense, but don't worry too much about it, you'll be too busy laughing to worry about such things!

The Only Good Mob Spoof
You would think that mob life would be one of the easiest things for a movie to spoof. However, Johnny Dangerously is the only good one to have been made, and there have been a lot of mob spoofs made. JD is set in the 1920s and focuses on the glamour days of the mafia.

The title role is perfect for Michael Keaton. He plays a suave ladies man that is a more sensitive mob boss. His foil is played by Joe Piscopo in the person of Danny Vermin. Piscopo has the funniest lines in the movie, "It shoots through schools".

Johnny has gotten involved in the mob because of his ailing mother. He needs money to pay her medical bills and for his brother's education. His brother, Tommy, decides that he wants to become a district attorney so that he can take down the mafia. Tommy doesn't know that Johnny Dangerously is really his brother Johnny Kelly. Throw in the fact that Tommy's boss, played by Danny DeVito, is on the mob payroll and you get an altogether hilarious movie.

Some of the funniest scenes in JD feature Richard Dimitri as rival mob boss Roman Moroni completely butchering the English language, "You fargin iceholes". JD is certainly good for more than a few laughs.

Don't give much creedence to Amazon's Editorial Review...
I won't bore everyone with another description of this movie -- please read other positive reviews for that. This review is more of a defense against the Editorial Review written by Tom Keogh. It's a shame that his remarks are given primary visibility to any potential customers looking for a fantastic comedy that, in my and many other opinions, stands the test of time. I recently re-watched this movie, for about the 7th time, as it was being re-run on one of the premium channels. As I was laughing from-my-gut at the same one-liners and scenarios I almost know-by-heart, I realized that this was definitely a film to add to my DVD library. If you are a prospective buyer that has never seen this movie, and you enjoy comedies in the vain of Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and "Amazon Women on the Moon", I can almost guarantee that you will LOVE this film. It's one Michael Keaton's best comedic works -- as good or better than "Night Shift", but in a totally different way -- and I couldn't disagree more with Tom Keogh's remarks...

A must for your comedy movie library!
One of the funniest films you will every see. Keaton is superb, and the rest of the cast ain't bad, either! Even the music soundtrack is right on the mark. I've seen it many times and look forward to many more.

Before he became an overrated filmmaker, Cameron Crowe (Jerry Maguire) was a reporter for Rolling Stone who was so youthful looking that he could go undercover for a year at a California high school and write a book about it. He wrote the script for this film, based on that book, and it launched the careers of several young actors, including Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judge Reinhold, Phoebe Cates, and, above all, Sean Penn. The story line is episodic, dealing with the lives of iconic teen types: one of the school's cool kids, a nerd, a teen queen, and, most enjoyably, the class stoner (Penn), who finds himself at odds with a strict history teacher (a wonderfully spiky Ray Walston). Get off my case....................!!
A classic line from Brad Hamilton (Judge Reinhold) as well as "Doesn't anyone know how to knock around here?" or "Sir, if you don't (be quiet), I'm gonna kick 100%...!" As entertaining as Penn was, I think Reinhold did the best acting job in the enitre movie. Directors were som impressed by his work that he started in Beverly Hills Cop's 1 and 2, two of the biggest box-office hits of the 80's. Anthony Edwards (Gilbert on Revenge of the Nerds) did a great job as a stoner bud as well as Harold (Scott Thompson, Copeland on Police Academy), Jefferson, Rat (Police Academy 4), Stacy, DeMone, Linda (Phoebe Cates) and many others.

This movie was based on Clairemont High School in San Diego. I have a friend who graduated from Clairemont High in '82 who constantly tells me stories about incidents that actually happened in the movie as well as at the high school. He remembers when some guy ordered a pizza in history class. The teachers name was Mr. Crocker (not Mr. Hand). BTW, the screen names, including the teachers, are not the actual names of the ones who revolved around the high school. However, the personalities in the movie are very similar to the one's in real life. As for the mall, that was supposed to imitate Unviserstiy Town Center in San Diego. I was told that that was where every teenager wanted to work during that time.

Great movie of a semi-true story!!!

"Why don't you get a job, Spicoli?" "What for?"
Slice of life of Southern California kids dated with great early '80's tunes. Stacy Hamilton (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and Mark Ratner (Brian Backer) are interested in the fair sex, but their more experienced friends Linda Barrett (Phoebe Cates) and Mike Damone (Robert Romanus) give them hopelessly bad advice. Great performances all around, but the scene-stealers are surfer pothead Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn), who thinks nothing of having a pizza ordered in to his history class, Stacey's older brother Brad (Judge Reinhold), who has bum luck with women and jobs, and history teacher Mr. Hand (Ray Walston), who has all the patience of a boiling tea kettle. Unfortunatly, extra scenes that appear on Comedy Central among other stations are not included here, as director Heckerling is not particularly fond of them. Look for Nicholas Cage, Anthony Edwards, and Eric Stoltz as Spicoli's fellow stoners, and Forest Whittaker as Ridgemont's football hero. Bruce Springsteen's younger sister Pamela appears briefly as a cheerleader.

The background of Fast Times...
The film itself is a classic, from the soundtrack (which features recently broken-up members of The Eagles), Stevie Nicks, and Jackson Browne. Cameron Crowe wrote the true story of teenagers in late 70s San Diego (Clairemont High) from his own perspective, originally written for Rolling Stone magazine. Because he looked so young at the time, he was able to go to school and fit in. Even though Crowe changed the city to the LA area (the movie also takes place in LA), the Clairemont High schoolers were upset with a lot of it. "Rat" is now the writer of some of the "Dummies" books.

The film itself is an essential 80s comedy classic, a lot of subjects bold at the time, a lot of new talent to move on to bigger paychecks (Forest Whittaker, Sean Penn, Nicolas Cage).
Cameron Crowe should make a film about the story behind making "Fast Times" as a sequel to "Almost Famous".

I think it would be great if Crowe and Heckerling did a commentary with the original cast members as well as the Clairemont High students to give added perspective on the fact and fiction of it all. I think people would want to know if these people really existed, and what happened to them.

This movie has no real point to it. But its fun watching different teens in the same school and follow their lives as they try to be as cool as they can be. I wish Sean Penn got more scenes because he made this movie a definate classic.

Greatest teen comedy ever made
OK, "greatest teen comedy ever made" really isn't setting the bar all that high, but this really is a wonderful film. I almost docked it a star for being at least partially responsible for a lot of copycat garbage that followed, but that would be punishing it unfairly. It deserved the tons of money it made.

Many of the other reviews on this site have rehashed the plot(s) and the fact that it introduced an amazing array of acting talent to the world. What I think is most impressive however, is the honesty and poignancy this film delivers while being hysterically funny. The relationship between Brad and his sister is incredibly touching. The characters are real, three-dimensional people (yes even Spicoli; I knew someone almost exactly like him in school and I'll bet you did too). It is beautifully written, directed, and acted. It is also one of the most quote-worthy films this side of Tarantino ("All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine").

On a final note, I disagree with the Amazon reviewer's assessment that Cameron Crowe is an overrated director. "Say Anything" is probably the best teen movie made since this one, and "Almost Famous" is a stone cold masterpiece, IMHO. ... Read more

A Funny Movie
This is the only Kirstie Alley movie I have ever really enjoyed it is so interesting to see how people think a baby thinks. Everything about it is so realistic because a baby would be thinking similar things because they don't know better. The premise is that Mikey a hip baby is born out of wedlock to Kirstie Alley who at the hospital meets John Travolta a cab driver and he becomes Mikey's babysitter throughout the entire movie Mikey provides sarcastic commentary on what happens around him. This movie is good for people 11 and older because it does have some sexual dialouge and language but other than that it is okay. I hope that this review has helped you in making a decision about this movie.

Adorable!
Look Who's Talking is so funny and adorable, I didn't find it stupid at all or too silly, the sequels were not very good but this one was good, also what's wrong with silly anyway? I like a silly lighthearted comedy because you can laugh, and silly movies are great to relax to if you have had a tough day. Some people seem to have this fear of any comedy that has silly moments in it. If you don't mind a a movie that can be silly then I highly recommend Look Who's Talking but if you are the type who gets bothered by anything unrealistic like the CLEVER idea of hearing the baby's thoughts etc, then I guess this movie isn't for you! But anyway it's comedy and fantasy and isn't really supposed to be realistic.

"Yeah, lunch!"
I've loved this movie since I was young, and didn't get half the jokes. A lot of the jokes are aimed at the adult audience, rather than teaching kids how they came into the world - it wasn't by a stork!

With all the recent bad press about Kirstie Alley's weight gain, it's good to watch her, when she was still reasonably slim. And she looks great in this film. Especially when she does the little dance, while feeding Mikey, and John Travolta walks in.

Although John Travolta will never be as good as he was in Grease, this is one of those movies, where he provides the laughs, and genuinely looks quite nice - especially when he has the bruise, after Mikey's real dad hits him with a phone! (You just wanna kiss him all better!) His love of beer and fast food is beginning to show in this, as he has a little stomach, which then becomes a big stomach for Pulp Fiction!

I'm never quite sure as Bruce Willis as the voice of Mikey. When I was younger, I probably didn't see a lot of Bruce Willis in movies, and still to this day, I don't really recognise his voice. He's trying too hard to have a high voice, and sure, on certain words, he lets slip, and you can hear its him. But it just doesn't sound like him.

This is a terrific film, to watch as a youngster, and as an adult, and be able to appreciate the sexual chemistry between John & Kirstie. It's funny, and although, the sequels aren't as good, when are they? I just have to get the second one on DVD now!

Talking pheotus. 11th may 2004.
It starts off quite rude, you can actually see whats happening to the pheotus inside her. It is kind of weird because the baby is talking inside her even though the people don't actually know that he is, and it is daft. It would of been much better if a voice wasen't talking him at such a young age. It is inbetween good and bad, it is one of them films that can't really get better the second time of watching it.

Baby Talk
LOOK WHO'S TALKING is about a newborn baby,voiced by Bruce Willis. Willis verbalizes the baby's thoughts. Kirstie Alley,star of the hit sitcom Cheers,plays the baby's mother Mollie. The birth of Mikey occurred as a result of a sexual escapade between Mollie and a male co-worker(George Segal). Just as she's about to go into labor,she hails a taxi,driven by James Ubriacco(John Travolta). Mollie tells her mom and dad that she was artificially inseminated. Mollie's mom(Olympia Dukakis) says in one scene,"You and the frozen pop are having a baby." James shows up at Molly's apartment,returning her wallet that she left in James' cab(The address on Molly's ID was helpful). So Mollie hires James to be Mikey's babysitter. Albert,Mikey's father shows up at Mollie's in another scene. In the same scene,James asks Albert a few questions regarding Mikey's biography. Also,James plans to use Mollie's Manhattan address to set up a residency for James' grandfather(Abe Vigoda) who has been evicted from an old age home and James found a place for him in the same town. James himself does not live in Manhattan that's why he used Mollie's address to move his grandfather into his new place(obviously non-Manhattan residents can't welcome new residents into the facility). In James' grandfather's new home,Mikey is seen in one scene roaming around the facility and ends up wandering off into the heavy New York City traffic. Terrified Mollie and James drive all over the city and finally find Mikey,bringing an abundance of relief. So Mollie and James fall in love and in one of the last scenes,Mollie gives birth to Mikey's half-sister Julie,whose father is James. This film is Travolta's first major hit since "Urban Cowboy" in 1980. Travolta had many not-so-successful films in the 80's including "Two Of A Kind","Perfect" and "Blowout". However,"Staying Alive" got mixed reviews and was somewhat successful because of its predecessor,"Saturday Night Fever". Previously,Alley co-starred with Sidney Poitier and Tom Berenger in the action-packed "Shoot To Kill". That film was one of her pre-Cheers projects. I have a friend who graduated from Clairemont High in '82 who constantly tells me stories about incidents that actually happened in the movie as well as at the high school. He remembers when some guy ordered a pizza in history class. The teachers name was Mr. Crocker (not Mr. Hand). BTW, the screen names, including the teachers, are not the actual names of the ones who revolved around the high school. However, the personalities in the movie are very similar to the one's in real life. As for the mall, that was supposed to imitate Unviserstiy Town Center in San Diego. I was told that that was where every teenager wanted to work during that time.

Great movie of a semi-true story!!!

Slice of life of Southern California kids dated with great early '80's tunes. Stacy Hamilton (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and Mark Ratner (Brian Backer) are interested in the fair sex, but their more experienced friends Linda Barrett (Phoebe Cates) and Mike Damone (Robert Romanus) give them hopelessly bad advice. Great performances all around, but the scene-stealers are surfer pothead Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn), who thinks nothing of having a pizza ordered in to his history class, Stacey's older brother Brad (Judge Reinhold), who has bum luck with women and jobs, and history teacher Mr. Hand (Ray Walston), who has all the patience of a boiling tea kettle. The film itself is a classic, from the soundtrack (which features recently broken-up members of The Eagles), Stevie Nicks, and Jackson Browne. Cameron Crowe wrote the true story of teenagers in late 70s San Diego (Clairemont High) from his own perspective, originally written for Rolling Stone magazine. Because he looked so young at the time, he was able to go to school and fit in. Even though Crowe changed the city to the LA area (the movie also takes place in LA), the Clairemont High schoolers were upset with a lot of it. "Rat" is now the writer of some of the "Dummies" books.

The film itself is an essential 80s comedy classic, a lot of subjects bold at the time, a lot of new talent to move on to bigger paychecks (Forest Whittaker, Sean Penn, Nicolas Cage).
Cameron Crowe should make a film about the story behind making "Fast Times" as a sequel to "Almost Famous".

I think it would be great if Crowe and Heckerling did a commentary with the original cast members as well as the Clairemont High students to give added perspective on the fact and fiction of it all. I think people would want to know if these people really existed, and what happened to them.

This movie has no real point to it. But its fun watching different teens in the same school and follow their lives as they try to be as cool as they can be. I wish Sean Penn got more scenes because he made this movie a definate classic.

Greatest teen comedy ever made
OK, "greatest teen comedy ever made" really isn't setting the bar all that high, but this really is a wonderful film. I almost docked it a star for being at least partially responsible for a lot of copycat garbage that followed, but that would be punishing it unfairly. It deserved the tons of money it made.

Many of the other reviews on this site have rehashed the plot(s) and the fact that it introduced an amazing array of acting talent to the world. What I think is most impressive however, is the honesty and poignancy this film delivers while being hysterically funny. The relationship between Brad and his sister is incredibly touching. The characters are real, three-dimensional people (yes even Spicoli; I knew someone almost exactly like him in school and I'll bet you did too). It is beautifully written, directed, and acted. It is also one of the most quote-worthy films this side of Tarantino ("All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine").

On a final note, I disagree with the Amazon reviewer's assessment that Cameron Crowe is an overrated director. "Say Anything" is probably the best teen movie made since this one, and "Almost Famous" is a stone cold masterpiece, IMHO. ... Read more

Like many other SNL films
A lot of films based on SNL characters unsurprisingly fail at the box office because of the inability to actually develop the characters. The only exception, and everyone knows this, is "Wayne's World" with the exception of the sequel. "A Night At The Roxbury" follows the two misadventures of Steve and Doug Butabi, two hopeless romantics and brothers who spend their days irritating their dad (Dan Hedaya) at his plastic plant shop, and their nights at attempted club hopping which results in them getting shunned away by the doorman. Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan are very talented but they try to make their SNL characters real and it just doesn't work. Everyone knows the theme of the overplayed and now familiarly known as the Roxbury Theme. The problem is, the film just doesn't seem to go anywhere. It gets inevitably boring and recycles jokes in the movie continually. Look for then unknown Michael Clarke Duncan as a doorman.

Oh great, another SNL skit run right into the ground!
After watching this movie, I have to say that the jokes run out real quick and physical comedy will only get you so far. The great thing about the original skit with the Roxbury brothers is that we saw celebrities acting just like bafoons picking up chicks, but when you're watching a couple of the regular bafoons trying to pick up chicks - it makes you wonder how fast the writer wrote the script. This movie is so bad, with the over-acting by Molly Shannon, I was hoping Chris Kattan would pull it out of the water in time...but the jokes quickly drowned.

Was it a good film?
No....YES!

I absolutely adored this film. Not many films have me rolling on the floor clutching my side from too much laughter. Will Ferrell is hilarious and with Chris Kattan, what could go wrong? The two brothers are so pathetic that you just want to root for them. Eventually the underdog wins and there is a happy ending.

SNL alums Will Ferrell(before he went 'Elf' on us) and Chris Kattan play dumb, club-hopping brothers from LA. Both stars are hilarious because they never score with the ladies while at the clubs. They come up with the worst lines, which makes it even funnier.

OK, so it didn't win any Oscars, but i know it's not good. In fact, it's only the very few films I admit I enjoyed. The Butabi brothers are so over the top, I can't help myself laugh. The story is non-existent, but the characters help carry this film. It's pure escapist fun. I want to get the DVD, but I'm afraid to buy it! ... Read more

Better the second time around!
The thing that makes "National Lampoon's European Vacation" stand out from its original predecessor "National Lampoon's Vacation" is the lush, green European scenery combined with the dialogue between the film's characters. Add the delightful comedic talents of Monty Python's Eric Idle, and you have the makings of a hilarious movie, with Idle adding an element of slapstick, screwball physical comedy that occurs with each accident that brings with it a style only Chevy Chase's character, Clark Griswold can create. Dana Hill and Jason Lively fit into their roles as brother and sister Audrey and Russ Griswold quite nicely. Let's not forget the lovely talents of Beverly D'Angelo as Ellen Griswold, whose shower scene in the movie is sort of on the risque side, but ends up being hysterical when she finds it advertised on an Italian billboard due to Clark's accidental videotaping! I did find the kissing scene between John Astin's game show emcee character and the Griswold daughter (Dana Hill) character to be totally inappropriate for a film that the whole family can watch together. If you're into scenic films with a good dose of comedic dialogue and action-adventure, then "European Vacation" is the movie for you! Highly recommended

Funniest Movie, Ever
First I would like to disagree with all the neagtive comments about this movie. I have probbaly seen it a good 500 times. I have worn out 4 videotapes, so to my surprise and delight, it is finally coming out on DVD. I have searched high and low and always wondered why all the other vacation movies were out but not this one..
Anyway, the entire Vacation series in a nutshell, are brillaint, light hearted movies. Though European was the best. There are fun characters and amazing one liners. I love Clark in Germany and on Pig in the Poke... The kids were cool, I love that Rusty, but Audrey made me ill! Can you pass the crousaints, and the butter and the jelly...yuk.
Overall the plot was fun, they win a trip to Europe, on a fluke...Clark, Thats right..Clark, of Lewis and Clark...And the Griswalds' are our grand prize Pig in a Poke winners...and they allow us access to the American disfuncional family life. I think you can relate cause we all have had family vacationos like that, where dad is frustrated, mom is trying to smooth everything over ( and kidnapped ) and the kids are trying their hardest to be a pain in the rump!
Any way, I am delighted that I can get the DVD, and I am looking forward to the commentary. because one of the beauties of this film, is there are so many slapstick jokes going on in the background. They are not the focus of the scene, so unless you are a obsessed fan like me they would go un-noticed. So I am hoping that the commetary will shed a few secrets that even I was unaware of.

INTRODUCTION:
National Lampoon's European Vacation was the second film in the Vacation series of films. For many years, the first film has been hailed as a comedy classic, and this one has been all but forgotten. Is this film an underrated masterpiece that is as good as its predecessor, or is it a mediocre entry in the series? Read on for my review.

BASIC PLOT:
The storyline of the film goes something like this. The Griswalds appear on a quiz game show, and (through a rather odd twist of fate) win the grand prize - a tour of Europe. Beverly D'Angelo and Chevy Chase reprise their roles from the previous film. Before long, their vacation in Europe begins - and once again, they find themselves in a so-called vacation in which one thing after another goes wrong - they end up in a cramped hotel room, getting a huge phone charge, and even having their video camera stolen by a French criminal! They even end up accidentally destroying Stonehenge! One thing after another goes wrong once again...

FILM OPINIONS:
This film is not nearly as good as its predecessor, or it's follower, Christmas Vacation, but it's a good film nonetheless. If you liked the first one, you'll probably like this one too. Just don't be expecting it to be quite up to the quality of its predecessor.

DVD:
The DVD is severely lacking as far as extras go. We get commentary and trailers, and that's about it. There's really not much other than these things, things that every DVD should have. Still, the actual film is good, and it makes up for this.

OVERALL:
Overall this film doesn't top its predecessor, but it's still damn funny. If you want to laugh, pick it up. You'll be glad you did.

Why is everyone bagging this movie?
Though it's definately not Amy Heckirling's best film (check out Fast Times at Ridgemont High' for that), it's not a bad movie. And though Mena and Jason have both done better for themselves (American Beauty and American Pie respectively), it's not a waste of your time. Maybe it's not a buying type of movie. But at least rent it. It's truly a hidden gem. It got lost at the theaters this summer. I saw it with some friends because we're all in love with Jason Biggs (even though his hair was a monstrosity in itself). Basically it's about a very smart, but not exactly rolling in dough type of kid. He gets made fun of by his beer-swilling, sterotypical roommates. He doesn't get any of the girls. Then he meets Dora. Dora has it just a bit rougher than Paul, considering Paul's on a schlorship and she's, well, not. Not to mention the fact that she has a not so innocent relationship with a professor. I won't tell you anymore except that Paul must find another place to live when he gets kicked out of his dorm by those roommates mentioned earlier. Anyway's, although it's definately not her best film, this one isn't so bad. So just let go of your inhabitions annd see this little movie. It's definately worth your time.

Hilarious
I have to say this is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Not only is the script written well, but the actors are excellent.

Loser is all about a guy named Paul (Jason Biggs) who wins a scholarship to a fancy Manhattan school. He falls for the Dora (Mena Suvari), a girl from the Bronx, the only problem is she's having a secret relationship with her Lit teacher (Greg Kinnear).
Not only that, Paul is living in a dorm with 3 rich roomates who don't study, party 24/7, and use date rape on any girl they can.

This is an excellent movie and I recommend it to anyone who's in the mood for a good laugh.

Great Date Movie!!
This movie is really great to go see on a date or to rent for a date, to stay in all night! I love the humor in this movie and the cast was well chosen! I recommend this to anyone who wants a good laugh!

Disappointing
I took a date to see this movie and we ended up staring at each other saying....what the? For a date movie this was a wierd one. Biggs plays a dweeb again but this time doesn't have his support system around him like he did in American Pie. Instead he has 2 freaky roommates who border on criminals (they use date rape drugs?) and nobody to help him out.
The professor and college student romance is equally creepy. The whole movie is so dysfunctional that I cringed so often my back hurt. There is zero chemistry between biggs and suvari. Its more like she pitied him more than anything else. ... Read more

Get off my case....................!!
A classic line from Brad Hamilton (Judge Reinhold) as well as "Doesn't anyone know how to knock around here?" or "Sir, if you don't (be quiet), I'm gonna kick 100%...!" As entertaining as Penn was, I think Reinhold did the best acting job in the enitre movie. Directors were som impressed by his work that he started in Beverly Hills Cop's 1 and 2, two of the biggest box-office hits of the 80's. Anthony Edwards (Gilbert on Revenge of the Nerds) did a great job as a stoner bud as well as Harold (Scott Thompson, Copeland on Police Academy), Jefferson, Rat (Police Academy 4), Stacy, DeMone, Linda (Phoebe Cates) and many others.

I think it would be great if Crowe and Heckerling did a commentary with the original cast members as well as the Clairemont High students to give added perspective on the fact and fiction of it all. I think people would want to know if these people really existed, and what happened to them.

This movie has no real point to it. But its fun watching different teens in the same school and follow their lives as they try to be as cool as they can be. I wish Sean Penn got more scenes because he made this movie a definate classic.

Greatest teen comedy ever made
OK, "greatest teen comedy ever made" really isn't setting the bar all that high, but this really is a wonderful film. I almost docked it a star for being at least partially responsible for a lot of copycat garbage that followed, but that would be punishing it unfairly. It deserved the tons of money it made.

Many of the other reviews on this site have rehashed the plot(s) and the fact that it introduced an amazing array of acting talent to the world. What I think is most impressive however, is the honesty and poignancy this film delivers while being hysterically funny. The relationship between Brad and his sister is incredibly touching. The characters are real, three-dimensional people (yes even Spicoli; I knew someone almost exactly like him in school and I'll bet you did too). It is beautifully written, directed, and acted. It is also one of the most quote-worthy films this side of Tarantino ("All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine").

On a final note, I disagree with the Amazon reviewer's assessment that Cameron Crowe is an overrated director. "Say Anything" is probably the best teen movie made since this one, and "Almost Famous" is a stone cold masterpiece, IMHO. ... Read more

I loved it!!!
Wow, this movie has gotten some bad reviews. I guess that's how it is with most sequels, but I loooooved "Look Who's Talking Too." It's my favorite of the three, and I thought it was MUCH better than the original. Mikey is about 2 years old now, and he's adorable! Bruce Willis returns as the voice of Mikey, and Roseanne Barr is cast as the voice of Mikey's new baby sister Julie. Now Mikey is being potty-trained, he's trying to get along with Julie but it's not easy, and the parents (Travolta and Alley) are going through marital problems. I enjoyed every minute of this movie. It's cute, funny, and very good, considering it's a sequel. I hope this review was helpful.

Baby Talk 2
LOOK WHO'S TALKING TOO(the synonym of "also" used in place of the number 2) was theatrically released just before Christmas 1990,a little over a year after the first film was released. Now,there are two talking babies named Mikey and Julie,voiced by Bruce Willis and Roseanne Barr,respectively. Barr was at the time,a fairly new television star bearing her first name. She had broken ground in 1988 with the sitcom co-starring John Goodman,who would be a sometime movie star himself. Kirstie Alley and John Travolta reprise their roles of Mollie and James,now a married couple. This film introduces Mollie's brother Stuart(Elias Koteas). Stuart is an accountant just like his sister. James is not driving taxis much anymore,his main job being an airline pilot(as what Travolta does in real life). One night,Stuart shows up at Mollie and James' apartment. James believes Stuart is a maniac who is scaring Mikey and Julie. In another scene,James returns home to a gun pointed at him by Stuart. Stuart mistook James for an intruder or a burglar. "Why do have a gun in my house?",a somewhat angry James asks him. "There are kids here!",James then says. When James goes to bed he refers to Stuart as "Travis Bickle",Robert DeNiro's character in the 1976 film "Taxi Driver". James is fed up with Stuart's presence in the Ubriaccos' home and suggests to Molly that he stay with Mollie's mom and dad. "They'd kill each other",she tells James. This leads to a heated argument causing the Ubriaccos to briefly separate. In a later scene,a fire breaks out in the kitchen,extinguished by James. Mikey and Julie exit the building via an elevator. A thief breaks into the Ubriaccos' apartment and is discovered and captured by Stuart. Mollie's best friend Rona(Twink Caplan),who was also in the first film,was so proud of Stuart's heroism that she suggested that she and Stuart marry,since they've been romantically involved. In the last scene,James,Mollie,Mikey,Julie,Stuart,Rona and Mollie's and Stuart's mom and dad are all picnicking somewhere.

Hysterical sequal, If you have kids, You'll Love It
Most parents will truly appeciate the nuances of this very funny movie. While some of the humor is simplistic, the humor is seen through the eyes of two children, so there is a need for an occasional poke in the ribs. For those of us who have had the blessing of watching our children develop, and have found the wonderful place in our hearts that only our children can touch, the humor rings true. Roseanne Barr delivers a surprisingly authentic and precious interpretation of the mind set of Julie, the younger sister. Bruce Willis is still quite convincing as the older brother Mikey. There are script problems with the adult story lines. It is very hard to believe that mom - Molly - allows a very dangerous person to take care of the kids. Molly's brother, while acted well, only rises to comic book stature. But you will want to watch this again and again, for the reason you watched the first time, to touch that place in your heart where you store the memories of your own children.

Another one of the worst sequels ever made.
Along with "Problem Child 2", "Look Who's Talking Too" is one of the worst sequels ever made. In a series of films, it's usually the second movie that is the worst. This one tops the original film in terms of bathroom humor and bad acting. These two ingredients are EVERYWHERE in this film! Both Kirstey Alley and John Travolta are terrible in their fighting scenes. Add in two of the most obnoxious comedians on the planet [Roseanne Barr and Gilbert Gottfried] to the mix, and you have got one big stinker of a movie.

Not as good as the original, but still worth watching.
This is the weakest addition to the "Look Who's Talking" series. It is sort of slow, and has some embarassing moments (esp. from John Travolta) but if you can get past all of that, then you will enjoy this sequel. Bruce Willis is, once again, the voice of Mickey.

Better the second time around!
The thing that makes "National Lampoon's European Vacation" stand out from its original predecessor "National Lampoon's Vacation" is the lush, green European scenery combined with the dialogue between the film's characters. Add the delightful comedic talents of Monty Python's Eric Idle, and you have the makings of a hilarious movie, with Idle adding an element of slapstick, screwball physical comedy that occurs with each accident that brings with it a style only Chevy Chase's character, Clark Griswold can create. Dana Hill and Jason Lively fit into their roles as brother and sister Audrey and Russ Griswold quite nicely. Let's not forget the lovely talents of Beverly D'Angelo as Ellen Griswold, whose shower scene in the movie is sort of on the risque side, but ends up being hysterical when she finds it advertised on an Italian billboard due to Clark's accidental videotaping! I did find the kissing scene between John Astin's game show emcee character and the Griswold daughter (Dana Hill) character to be totally inappropriate for a film that the whole family can watch together. If you're into scenic films with a good dose of comedic dialogue and action-adventure, then "European Vacation" is the movie for you! Highly recommended

Funniest Movie, Ever
First I would like to disagree with all the neagtive comments about this movie. I have probbaly seen it a good 500 times. I have worn out 4 videotapes, so to my surprise and delight, it is finally coming out on DVD. I have searched high and low and always wondered why all the other vacation movies were out but not this one..
Anyway, the entire Vacation series in a nutshell, are brillaint, light hearted movies. Though European was the best. There are fun characters and amazing one liners. I love Clark in Germany and on Pig in the Poke... The kids were cool, I love that Rusty, but Audrey made me ill! Can you pass the crousaints, and the butter and the jelly...yuk.
Overall the plot was fun, they win a trip to Europe, on a fluke...Clark, Thats right..Clark, of Lewis and Clark...And the Griswalds' are our grand prize Pig in a Poke winners...and they allow us access to the American disfuncional family life. I think you can relate cause we all have had family vacationos like that, where dad is frustrated, mom is trying to smooth everything over ( and kidnapped ) and the kids are trying their hardest to be a pain in the rump!
Any way, I am delighted that I can get the DVD, and I am looking forward to the commentary. because one of the beauties of this film, is there are so many slapstick jokes going on in the background. They are not the focus of the scene, so unless you are a obsessed fan like me they would go un-noticed. So I am hoping that the commetary will shed a few secrets that even I was unaware of.

Great movie, definitely check it out! Its a joy! And I recomend that younger kids don't watch, due to adult suggestions... AHHHHH, I love it.
