4-0 out of 5 stars WOW!
David Duchovny hosts three more episodes of the popular adult series. Contains the episodes: "The Psychiatrist," "Four on the Floor," and "Emily's Dance."

Segment: "The Psychiatrist." Linda, the client played by Demetra Hampton (Valentina [1988]), picks up men on trains and in hotel bars and accepts money for various active and passive sex acts but contends that it's the psychiatrist with the problem. Linda asserts, "You sit there in your big chair and listen but you feel nothing." The "Psychiatrist" (Denise Crosby) writes to Red Shoes lamenting, "Whom does he psychiatrist talk to?" (Actually, the role looks more like that of a psychologist, because she seems to rely on logo therapy rather than drugs.) The Psychiatrist goes to the hotel bar and hooks up with the same man (Georges Corraface) replicating the experience of Linda. On "The Man's" prompts, she progressively removes items of her clothing, accepting various amounts of money for each garment. But eventually she turns the tables on him by demanding that he touch her. Has she gotten in over her head or can she manage a real relationship with him? Segment: "Four on the Floor." An old movie featuring two couples who engage in group sex while on a vacation far from home serves as the inspiration for the story. The Red Shoes correspondent (Rachel Palmieri, I think) reports having seen the movie during a break from final exams preparations at college. Later, when she and her lover are involved in a car accident while on a double date with their best friends, they have to take shelter from the rain in an old abandoned building. Of course, they must all remove their rain-soaked clothing and huddle together to keep warm. Is history (as told in the movie) about to repeat itself? Segment: "Emily's Dance." Emily (Kent Masters King) is an aspiring dancer. Her technique is excellent and the film makers like her looks, but she can't let herself "get into" her performance. She gets a tryout on a project directed by Zalman King (Himself), who is assisted by Ashley Lowengrub (Herself) and which is choreographed by Tony Ciulla (Himself). Freedom Williams is the lead male dancer who also coughs up the rap stuff in the background. He sees her talent and tries to push her over the line where she will finally be free to express herself through her dance. Will he succeed or just break her spirit?...

3-0 out of 5 stars Not sure if this is same version? Different Box
The one I have, I like the first story best with Denise Crosby from Star Trek Next Generation. She plays a psychiatrist and mimics her patient's wild adventure, except she is better. It is called The Psychiatrist. The next one is called Four on the Floor like the title, it is sexy, but as the other reviewer stated these are soft porn. The last one is Emily's Dance, it is really sexy dancing. The first story is the best. I was going to put it up for sale here, but since it has a different box, I will put it up in auctions with a picture.

4-0 out of 5 stars My Review
This is one of the best porno movies that i have ever purchased it has some of the best details. And the picture is so CLEAR. The movie has some of the hottest girls I have yet to see in a movie. The one thing i didn't like about this movie is their wasn't enough hardcore. It was just a lot of softcore. I would strongly recemend this movie if you are into softcore, but i would look for something else if you want hardcore. ... Read more

What more could you ask for? A woman who sings and looks like an angel coupled with the gorgeous Australian geography. This video is a must for a fan of the singer and/or the country. The video "Big and Strong" is not to be missed! I cannot imagine why the album was completely overlooked by the public...it's great stuff!

Olivia Newton-John is a powerful screen presence. She is engaging and the songs/videos are simply excellent. In terms of videos, I have always said that Madonna went where Olivia Newton-John had already been. But. But. There is the rest of this video. Does anybody really want to see Olivia Newton-John talking to fat smelly looking Australians? Does anybody really want to see Olivia Newton-John shearing sheep? If you do then this video is for you but thank god for the fastforward button.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad!
Eight misfit criminals unite to simultaneous steal from various targets in the city. Of course it all goes bad, predictable but still fun and entertaining. There's a lot of gunfire, explosions, tough-guys and a gal, and some humor thrown in. It translates to a very good action-thriller. Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts, is as good as he was in Runway Train (he was nominated for an Academy Award for in 1985). At the end of this film you might be surprise who the real target is! It's worth your time, however it is only available in limited quantities, you'll have to order it and wait. But it's worth it. By the way, Chris Rock is true to form and he'll make you laugh! Rate R for strong language and violence.

4-0 out of 5 stars A action movie with a twist
A crafty nightclub owner (Jack) brings together a group of small time hoods and teams them up in unusual pairs (black man and white racist, Ivy Leaguer and simpleton) for a set of multiple heists which turn out to be an elaborate double cross against a notorious gangster (Domenic). The second half of the film is an extended standoff in the nightclub between Jack and his band of thieves and Domenic's henchman, during which the thieves discover why Jack brought them all together for what amounts to a suicidal mission.

I hate to give more than general info as I do not like to ruin the surprises for others. What I will tell you is that I found this film very interesting and liked the pairing of the two worst to work together and why. I also liked the reasons that the people were brought in on the deal. Over all this movie had some very well written twists and turns that make this movie more than just a B-movie.

The cast was also well put together, including, Eric Roberts, Tia Carrere, and Chris Rock.

4-0 out of 5 stars A must see
Great story, great plot, and good comedy. The Immortals is one of those movies that you will never see an equal to. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars An exciting movie from start to end.
This movie is so interesting. It keeps you on suspense the whole time. A good movie from the nearly past and to see the begining of Kari Wuhrer filmography.

4-0 out of 5 stars Paranormal B movie at it's best
Sex, lies, sex, mystical powers, sex dreams and a murder mystery to boot!

This erotic thriller stars Kari Wuhrer, who is a young student with the ability to pick up 'sensations' of objects about they're owners. Eric Roberts is a college professor who wants to study her gift.

What he's failed to mention is that these objects belong to a dead student, and he is suspect number one... By the time Kari finds this out she's sucked in too deep to walk away, haunted by erotic dreams, and a need to help the dead girl who is taking over her life. But does Eric want to help her, or silence her?

OK, the sting in the tale isn't to hard to guess, but Sensation is still an enjoyable movie.

4-0 out of 5 stars A must-see for Eric Roberts fans!
When I first saw this on cable TV, I was blown away! For suspense lovers, there is plenty of mystery and unsuspected turns to keep you guessing. For Eric Roberts lovers, there are some really great screen shots of the actor... especially the fantasy/day-dream sequences which are done in blue-tint and slow motion. Steamy, steamy! Very erotic, but not distasteful. You'll love it.

4-0 out of 5 stars i thought that it was very erotic

3-0 out of 5 stars loved by the man hired to kill her
This TVM directed by Brian Grant has some intriguing elements which keep one guessing before the plot implausibilities bury any sense of reality. As the wife of a criminal psychologist and author who she believes is trying to kill her, Virginia Madsen is an actress who can play paranoid victim without looking silly, but even she is given one too many cries of "No", and suffers under the weight of 4 potential assassins, not to mention a mean looking dog. Grant is possibly aware of the weakness of the script and plays some scenes for laughs, one expectation of Madsen being pursued is given a comic payoff, and it is only the combination of 2 cliches in another scene that neutralises them - the confession as plot update to a friend interrupted by a secretary not holding telephone calls as requested. He inserts a late dream sequence which presents like a trailer, but also provides some inspired touches - a choreographed foreplay set to latin music on the soundtrack, Madsen in closeup facing an oncoming vehicle, and a neon-lit diametrically crossing staircase. For a time this part recalls Madsen's role as the investigator in Candyman, where her anxieties were unbelieved and considered delusional, however Grant doesn't pass on the opportunity to admire her beauty. Madsen recalls Barbara Stanwyck, and not just because she resembles her, since both have the ability to play intelligent women in suspicious circumstances. As the hired killer who alerts Madsen to the danger she is in, Lenny von Dohlen's boyish earnestness, daytime drama throaty voice and lack of skill is passable since he is meant to be a psychopath. If only a similar excuse could be made for Jim Metzler as Madsen's author husband. As Madsen's friend, Erich Anderson continues his SNAG from thirtysomething, and in a small part at Anderson's gay assistant, Frank Magner is funny with his few lines. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A dangerous game, a delicious cake, and a family feud
Okay, I'm going to be a little bias on critiquing this DVD. This is because I am the writer of the story of one of the three episodes on this DVD.

This DVD consists of the Red Shoe Diaries episodes: The Game, The Cake, and Like Father Like Son.

'The Game' is about a woman who broke herself free of a relationship that was based on a sexual 'truth or dare' style game. This episode is for the "no holds barred" type of lovers out there.

'The Cake' is the episode I wrote the story for. It's about a woman who can't decide on a birthday cake at a bakery for her husband. The baker gets an idea to decorate her as the birthday cake. The results? You'll have to see for yourself. :) This episode is for anyone curious to try new things.

'Like Father Like Son' is about a man infatuated with his father's lover. She, at first, thinks of him as just a boy but thinks otherwise later and has to decide between the two.

The DVD has some excellent additions to it:

Photo galleries from all 3 episodes

An option to hear commentary from producer/director Zalman King during the episodes

A Red Shoe Diaries trivia game

Behind the scenes footage (mostly in 'The Cake') that you can view at the appropriate moments of the episode

English and Spanish Translations

For the Red Shoe Diaries fans, this is a must have DVD. I hope you like it (especially my episode).

Oh, I do have a 1 1/2 second cameo on 'The Cake'. If you use the 'commentary' option, Zalman will point me out to you. :)

Enjoy! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Jennifer Ciesar!
Red Shoe Diaries 18 -- Strip Poker

Being repetitive, because in some respects the same can be said of every Red Shoe Diaries story, if you want eye-candy alone go elsewhere and enjoy. If you want eye-candy (always), mind-candy (often), skilled actors (always) and easy-to-hear music, try one. Then try to stay out of bed.

In Strip Poker, a woman who's out of touch with herself and with life becomes a camera-wielding voyeur.

The second story, Hard Labor, is set in the advertising industry, which I don't understand. A story within the story may appeal. I find Jennifer Ciesar mighty appealing.

In Slow Train, a woman reads an independent-minded grandmother's diary. In its account of an event that took place in the 1930's economic depression, she reads of the man who may be her grandfather. ... Read more

LIVING IN FT LAUDERDALE with all age groups, this concert or footage makes it on the screen from time to time and the viewer's look at it in aw,..wondering where they could buy the tape. a very good performance..!

4-0 out of 5 stars DONNA IN CONCERT IN LOS ANGELES
Originally released in 1983, this is a 90-minute video of a show that was recorded live at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. The full track listing is Macarthur Park, Love Is In Control, Unconditional Love (with Musical Youth), Romeo, Don't Cry For Me Argentina, On The Radio, Woman, One Night Only, Stop In The Name Of Love, a medley of (a) Dim All The Lights (b) Sunset People (c) Bad Girls (d) Hot Stuff, followed by Last Dance, She Works Hard For The Money, State Of Independence. This is very much the post-disco Donna, the pop singer and chanteuse, as attested by the absence of her earlier disco hits like I Feel Love. Donna maintains the interest throughout and it must have been a memorable concert.

4-0 out of 5 stars How could I have doubted Donna?
The first exposure I had to this concert was on the 'Endless Summer: Greatest Hits' video which featured three of the tracks from this tape and I wasn't too impressed by them. Donna seemed quite bored at times singing 'MacArthur Park', although she did seem a bit more involved when performing 'Last Dance' and 'On the Radio' but still Donna didn't seem to be at her magical best so I wasn't expecting much from this (but I still bought it anyway 'cause i'm such a fan) but boy was I wrong! 'MacArthur' was the first track and it was probarbly a bit daunting for Donna at the start of a performance so that's maybe why she didn't seem as involved. It's when performing her new tracks (new as of 1983 that is) that she really shines. 'Unconditional Love' and 'She works hard for the money' Donna performs with all her usual brightness and verve. For 'Romeo' Donna runs up into the audience and she takes on an Evita like persona for her rendition of 'Don't cry for me Argentina' and the grammy winning 'Forgive Me' is a definate highlight. The band are good to and Donna introduces them all at one stage. The show is almost stolen by the backing singers Mary and Dara (who happen to be Donna's sisters) who are a delight as they sing and joke about with each other. Donna makes a few jokes about being black which nowadays may be considered un-PC and the dance at the beggining does seem very dated. Other than that this is a great show from the Queen of divas and I look forward to someday seeing the 'Live and more ENCORE!' VIDEO (which is unavailable in the UK format).

4-0 out of 5 stars Part-Vegas, part-rock show, all entertainment!
Donna Summer has never really been able to define herself in the video era. In the pre-video 70s, she was easily the top pop female artist with powerful vocals and a full repertoire of disco-pop styling. But in the video era, where fashion and dancing are more important than vocals (Madonna anyone?) Summer clumsily moved from rag-tag Wanderer (1980), to funk queen (1982), to weary waitress (1983). Her vocal versatility was difficult to carry over to the video world where image is everything. This disparity is apparent in her live concerts as well. In the 1983 concert tape, "A Hot Summer Night", shot at an SRO concert in Costa Mesa, CA, Summer tries a bit of Vegas showgirl with sequine-covered gowns, rock diva, and Evita(!). Sometimes Summer tries a Bette Midler camp, telling naughty anecdotes in breathy Mae West tones, and sometimes she's Cher, eager with that audience participation. While the concert tape is never dull, it's a shame that Summer didn't stop playing the chameleon and recognized that she could have a very strong image of her own. END ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful item
This is a truly wonderful show and a wonderful box set, with a authenticity numbered certificate! This show is a pleasure, I discovered it through the satellite but wanted to make sure I had all the episodes of season one, which is now the case. Paul & Elizabeth are truly great in that show, there's a lot of irony too which is rare nowadays; so this is certainly a great gift.
Thank you amazon.com for selling this set because I never managed to find it anywhere else.

4-0 out of 5 stars Sexy and Fun
Not as dark as Highlander - I recommend it to fans of the tv show Alias who can take a bit of the fantasy genre. The chemistry between the leads lends a touch of romance and both are easy on the eyes.

5-0 out of 5 stars KERSTEN
The series is pretty dire, but the 1st soldier is DIDIER KERSTEN, a true great of the French theatre - buy it now!!!!1

5-0 out of 5 stars Less rambling, sometimes gentler than its predecessor
First of all, why did this series end up only lasting around half a season on network TV, even though a full season of episodes was actually filmed? After viewing the entire season, I'd say that considering their overall quality, it's really a shame they didn't reach a wider audience. But the show aired at a really odd time, at least in the Midwest (early Saturday afternoon), so you really had to break up your day to watch it. As such, it was well nigh impossible to catch the drift of where the series was heading.

And gee whiz, the 'stock' trailer at the beginning of each episode was so very, very cheesy sounding.

I should probably mention that Amanda's extremely short, bleached blonde hair made her head look too small for the rest of her body, which is silly, considering all the devoted fans from the former Highlander series were used to seeing her done up in her full glory. In well over 20 episodes of the original series, she wore her hair many different ways, using this particular coiffure one time only.

Also, why is she "the Raven" when her hair is practically white? The idea of the raven is only briefly alluded to in one episode of the entire series, certainly not enough to warrant the quasi-mythic, or should we really say pseudo-mythic significance given to it in the aforementioned cheesy trailer. The writing for that speech ("She is immortal . . .") is atrociously bad, almost nonsensical, and the man who reads it aloud in a flamboyantly pseudo-macho manner is definitely wrong for the part. Was this supposed to be some kind in in-joke? Maybe he thought Amanda was really China (the pro wrestler/personality seen on UPN) whom he was introducing. Whatever the rationale, it certainly didn't work very well.

But know that if you watch the Raven series from beginning to end, it's really quite remarkable. I think that sometimes the stories themselves tend toward more subtlety than the 6 seasons with Duncan McLeod, though the original series to its credit seemed somehow, what, more spacious and cosmopolitan? Here, though, there are less sword-fights per episode, and of course less 'quickenings'. (Amanda's quickenings have a feminine flavor to them whereas Duncan's often seemed rather wooden, maybe trying to flirt with the aforementioned pro wrestling audience.)

Possibly the biggest problem with the original series was a technical one: when scenes occurred in relatively darker surroundings, you had to jack up the brightness and tint of your monitor screen - though then everything looked too blue, and even then often you couldn't see what was going on. Thankfully, this technical oversight was corrected for the 'Raven' episodes.

Series star Elizabeth Gracen as Amanda was a frequent guest on episodes in Highlander: the Series' first 5 seasons, and a full-fledged co-star during its final season. She is a former Miss America who put her prize money to excellent use by going to acting school. Here she gets to show her own ample ability rather than merely playing the part of comedic and romantic foil to Adrian Paul's character Duncan McLeod (even there she was a very popular personage, gaining numerous loyal and devoted fans - check out her own website). In the earlier series, she often came off rather quirky, almost a mere appendage - of course not so here. During the Raven series, the gradual moral and emotional development of her own character works in tandem with the slowly developing/deepening friendship with her co-star (the former policeman, turned private detective, turned hi-grade security operative Nick Wolfe). It's really a tour de force in terms of believable acting and directing. Maybe even more so than for the original series, I was never tempted, once I got a few episodes into it, to want to turn the TV off, other than to eat, sleep, and go to work.

Though you could see where the series could have continued after the last episode (a second season, anyone?!) it also was emotionally a good place for it to end or at least go into hiatus. Although, maybe if you'd not already seen the 6 seasons of the original series, this wouldn't be the case.

Duncan's prolific and beautiful ramblings into far eastern religions and martial arts forms, as well as the little proverbs that emerge here and there from the mouths of different immortals (and mortals), both friends and foes, aren't present here as much, at least not in such a dressed-up form. Amanda's wisdom displays itself more in fits and starts (sometimes very passionate), but that makes this all the more believable, as viewers see that she's not just a clone of McLeod. The wonderfully diverse nature of the many different characters in the original series was a major factor as to why it was so stellar. To their credit, the writers, directors and producers did their best to preserve that tradition of excellence.

The only character (besides of course Amanda) who here reprises his role from the original series is the 'Watcher' Joe Dawson, though only for one episode. Valentine Pelka (the evil immortal Kronos in several episodes of the original series) and Philip Akin (who co-starred as Duncan's friend and employee Charlie throughout season #3) guest in a couple or so of the Raven episodes, portraying different characters than they played originally. ...

END ... Read more
