4-0 out of 5 stars Ever heard of Treble Charger?
If anyone is a fan of the canadian band Treble Charger, get this movie. They have a few cute scenes where the kid vp is producing "friend of mine" for them. The overall movie is very watchable as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good kids, good music
For a movie I got for [price] at Blockbuster, made for Showtime in association with Hallmark, this is a pretty sweet movie. I personally have watched it over a dozen times and still do when entertaining friends. The plot is not real deep, but its a pretty good movie if you can get it for cheep.

5-0 out of 5 stars best movie i've never seen
this movie really affected me personally; it toasted my non-existant cookies (i like cookies by the way, but i'm on a diet)..... Anyhoo....mr. music is so deep and emotional and i cried at the credits (i love that font sooooo much)....so um i'm so choked up (choking on a luna bar, not a cookie) that i can't find the words to explain how i feel about this movie....so yeah.....watch it, now, over and over and over and over and over and over ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Solid Sci-fi projection of grim, tech-controlled future
Add TEK WAR to elements that TOTAL RECALL 2070 draws its not unimpressive arsenal of dystopian concepts from. The informed sci-fi fan will easily spot BLADE RUNNER themes; X-File-like agents (futuristic UNTOUCHABLES); an ALIEN NATION detective duo; and a PC future where an omnipotent, "benevolent" corporate oligarchy dominates civilization. This made-for-TV film comprises the opening episodes of a series where a grim, high-tech Big Brother virtual reality IS reality. Michael Easton plays Citizen's Protection Bureau agent David Hume (The name parodies the famous English philosopher whose anti-Logos skepticism made the logic of Solipsism inevitable and heralded the deadly birth of DECONSTRUCTIONISM). He and his partner Ian Farve...a Blade Runner-Nexus 6 prototype/clone...wage war against the high-tech crypto fascists of REKALL. The latter is King-of-the-Hill corporation that turns the World into a Xanadu Pleasure zone...in exchange for its soul. The CPB are the "kind of" good guys whose job is to keep too much blood off the tracks while this Faustian-deal for fun and profit plays (and betrays)itself out. The acting in the Opener is fine. FX, production values and art direction are superior to excellent. The series has everything going for it. Much of its "plagiarism" eventually yields first-class science fiction with good action and some eye-popping set pieces (One where a REKALL bad guy has an implant within him triggered causing a radical "fever" reaction to burn-up his nervous system and literally render him into human "broth" is wicked...and worth waching for). If you're not a sci-fi fan the Intro shouldn't try your patience because the pacing is hard and fast (a tad confusing?)... If You're a Philip K. Dick, TEK WAR-BLADE RUNNER fan you'll find TOTAL RECALL 2070 cool, visually top-notch, conceptually provocative. A nice TIME to visit but you wouldn't want to die there......

3-0 out of 5 stars Stick with it . . .
Whilst I am a huge fan of Michael Easton to be honest the opening episodes of htis show aren't the greatest. The plot is confusing, the gritty backdrop is undermined by total lack of explanation or history, and the writing at times downright shoddy. Nevertheless the actors do well with what they're given and it does rate well on the originality stakes. It's worth sticking with this show for it does improve vastly, promising to be one of the better arc series of the past few years - that is, before it was cancelled.

3-0 out of 5 stars A weak start for a strong series
The movies Total Recall and Blade Runner were both loosely based on the works of Philip K. Dick, though Blade Runner came closer to the feel of Dick's world. TR2070 borrows elements of both Total Recall and Blade Runner, and throws in elements from cop shows, film noir, The X-Files, and more, ultimately becoming a compelling TV drama that ended prematurely. Unfortunately, the series premiere only hints at what's to come later. Instead, it apes Blade Runner too closely for comfort. Worth seeing? Certainly; despite some obvious visual influences, it has a look of its own, and the beginning of some good characterizations. And if the video release is successful enough to be followed by releases of the episodes on video, so much the better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding science fiction
This is one of the best works of science fiction I have seen in a long time. The set is masterful and is reiminiscent of the setting from Blade Runner. The handsome Micheal Easton plays a tough, street-smart detective with a gentle streak for his beautiful wife. His partner, Farve is an android who is the perfect counterpoint for Easton's no-nonsense character. The storyline is thought-provoking yet still maintains an action-packed, entertaining quality. Overall, I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves cerebral science fiction.

1-0 out of 5 stars Too much Blade Runner
This movie has so many similarities with Blade Runner that it should be renamed "Blade Runner 2070".

Many scenes are carbon-copies of Blade Runner, and if you look hard enough you can even find some characters of Blade Runner too.

I cannot say I did not like the movie at all, but they could have done a much better job if they have used more elements of the original movie Total Recall that left some interesting questions open for a sequel. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Stephanie Zimbalist was great in this movie
Stephanie Zimbalist had once again demostrated to her audience and herself that she is a able actress. Hollywood should pay more attention to her and give her more roles in art-house/ independent movie roles. She was really good in this movie and a delight as usual to see her on the screen.
