5-0 out of 5 stars The Best!
The best of the series, without a doubt.Filmed on location in Georgia, this episode has a different feel than the rest of the series.A free spirit, fun loving episode, yet still with Jesse Duke's inbred decency and character upon Bo and Luke.Future episodes clashed with this debut's statement that Luke owned a car that he loaned to Cooter, and the lack of mentioning that Cooter owned a garage (Cooter was far more wild in this episode than he would be later). To think if the series would be different if it had stayed in the Covington area and not Hollywood boggles the mind....imagine a "country" show filmed in the country...that would be unimaginable!!!
If you have never seen this episode.....you need to....the action and characters "actions" will surprise you!! But thats a good thing!

5-0 out of 5 stars The greatest Dukes of Hazzard episode of them all!
Not only the greatest Dukes ep ever, but perhaps the best episode of TV ever. This is the Dukes with a realistic flavor. Those aren't TV sets, they are real buildings that still exist in Covington and Conyers, GA, today!

If you are a Dukes fan, YOU MUST buy this episode. If not only to see how it all begins, if not only to see this classic American tale, but because TNN does such a hatchet job in cutting this one up in re-runs, you can't follow the plot and many of the episodes', and series', great scenes! But you can here, and you learn of the story between Bo and Jill Rae Dotson (Tisch Raye) that TNN doesn't show and are essential to the plot, which is based on a real life tale of a slot machine racket writer Gy Waldron discovered doing research creating Dukes. Raye, who would later marry in to French royalty and retire from acting, two years later landed a guest spot on Charlie's Angels in an episode entitled, "Moonshinin' Angels". This role unquestionably helped her land that one.

From the opening scene, where a Hazzard Co. Patrol Car and the General Lee jump over a hill on Covington, Georgia's Elm Street, to the final joke of Rudy (played by Jason Lively, the son of Ernie Davis Lively, who played Dobro in this ep and appeared in three other Dukes eps as two other characters. Jason himself would be the focal point of the sixth season episode, "The Boar's Nest Bears") squirting flies on the General's rear windshield, this show is captivating. There is action, four, count 'em, FOUR car chases! But there is also drama, mischief, and a tale that really leaves no gaps. So many people think of The Dukes of Hazzard as a slapstick show, but that dumbed down feel of the show is absent here. Watching this makes you wonder how good Dukes would have been if they had continued to shoot in Georgia and followed Waldron's vision, rather than move the show to California and adopt hack writers from Gilligans Island and McHales Navy to "Hollywoodize" it.

If you love the Dukes of Hazzard, this is a must for your library. You cannot enjoy the show in its proper context without seeing the above missing scenes! And if you're a southerner looking for a feel of rural southern life in the 1970's, look no further. This is it.

"One Armed Bandits" is such a quality piece of television die-hard Dukes fans have been known to memorize every line of dialoge to it and travel to Covington and Conyers to check out shooting locations! Let's just say I still remember vividly watching this episode for the first time on its very first airing on Jan. 26, 1979, and I was seven at the time. For a memory like that to be imprinted on such a young mind, this episode must really be something special. You will agree after viewing it. Five stars do not do it justice. It should receive an infinite amount of stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars It is the best Dukes of Hazzard of them all.
Because it was also in Georgia, and they were having fun instead of being bored when they went to Burbank, California.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
This is the Dukes Of all Dukes and the first Dukes. The boys steal some slot machines to help out the county orphanage and help Rosco win the county sheriff's election as well. The dukes raise the money and give it to the orphanage saying Rosco raised the money to help the orphanage. This helps Rosco as well, and he wins the election for sheriff. Not a bad job by the dukes to help out the needy. Good high speed chases and a HOT Daisy Duke in a bikini!!!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Needs Complete Season DVD Boxsets!
The Bob Newhart Show is one of my favorite classic shows and I remember watching this show when I was a kid and I also watched reruns on Nick at Nite and TV Land but they are always either changing the schedule or not showing it at all for long periods of time. I really want this show to be released in complete season DVD boxsets and can't believe they haven't done it already. The tape is fine and has good episodes but they would be better on DVD.

5-0 out of 5 stars includes Episode 81 : Who is Mr. X?
includes epsiode 81 : Who is Mr. X? Bob accepts a seemingly innocent invitation to appear as the guest on a TV discussion program. He winds up in the jaws of a dilemma when the show host turns out to have the disposition of a shark.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bob Newhart never tires out!!
Once again,Bob shows that his character lives on forever. Makes you want to have a friend like him in real life. All the episodes are great. I have seen them all too.The ceiling hits Bob is very good. Jerry,Howard and Carol, are excellent support for Bob. Not to mention his patient like Mr. Carlin. It would be nice to have a peeper series. Bobs old school friend. That would be awesome. I would buy that in a minute. Tom Poston is brillant in that too. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars This Show Should have Complete Seasons On DVD!
I was 13 when Mork and Mindy originally came on TV and I thought it was a cute show and funny too. I remember that stores were selling suspenders just like Mork's and a lot of kids were wearing them to school. Robin Williams was hilarious and adorable as alien from outerspace Mork and Pam Dawber was great as Mindy the young woman who finds him and lets him stay in her apartment. I also thought Conrad Janis was great as Mindy's father and so was the actress who played Mindy's grandma. This may not have been the best sitcom of all time and isn't quite as good as classics like I Love Lucy, Taxi or The Mary Tyler Moore Show but Mork and Mindy was a cute show with enjoyable episodes and I want to see it released in complete season DVD boxsets!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mork And Mindy
I'm 13 years old and I wasn't even around when Mork And Mindy came to telvision and as soon as i heard about the show i got a video of vol.1. When I finished watching the video I was so impressed by the acting of Robin Williams, and I was because Robin Williams is my favorite actor. In vol.1 the eposides that are on there are the fist eposide which is "Mork Moves In" and the 7th eposide witch is "Mork Goes Public". In the first eposide on the tape it's about how Mork comes to Earth and meets Mindy lives with her, but Mindy's farther does not want Mork to live with her. Will Mork stay on Earth? In the 2nd eposide a reporter is looking for an alien to put in his magzine, so Mindy tries to hid Mork from him. Will Mork be gone for good?

3-0 out of 5 stars So, So Video Quality
The show "Mork & Mindy" is a pretty good show. Pam Dawber, Robin Williams, and Elizabeth Kerr were great in it.

But the video quality [is quite poor]! It is recorded in SLP/EP mode. Now, this is okay for shows that are released in black and white, but not for shows in color. The image looks like it was recorded off TV, and the episodes were the standard cut versions that were shown on Nick at Nite from 1991-1995, and the now dead FOX Family Channel. They could've either:

A: Included more episodes for our money, or
B: Have Taped it in SP Mode if They Only Wanted Two Episodes On It

I think another company other then Paramount Video should release "Mork & Mindy" and it's sister series, "Happy Days" and "Laverne & Shirley"

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent

5-0 out of 5 stars Fill Er' Up...Duke's Style!
Tastes like Whiskey, kicks like a mule-- must be moonshine! In this classic Dukes of Hazzard, Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle) has gone against his word and fired up a new a new batch of sipping whiskey. But looks can be downright decieving. What Jesse, Bo (John Schneider) and Luke (Tom Wopat) are cooking up is a substitue for fossil fuels.

The Dukes are applying the secret family recipe and distilling a kick-tail "gasoline" in order to solve the nation's energy crisis. Of course, that only brings trouble for the Dukes. A federal revenue agent (Carlene Watkins) is doing her best to catch the Duke boys breaking their word and making moonshine. And Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) figures he can collect royalties on the fuel if the Dukes are given a government-funded stay in an iron-bar hotel. With all the heat on can Jesse and the boys make it in time to win the $20000 prize money? Find out and buy this hilarious GAS of an episode!

5-0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE FIVE GREATEST SHOWS OF TELEVISION HISTORY!
The first five episodes of The Dukes of Hazzard are about as good of television as you can get. They filmed not on a set in California but on location in Covington, GA. The plots are- dare we say it- REALISTIC AND WELL WRITTEN! The comedy is great, Rosco and Boss are actually not dumbed down to the point of absurdity, and, well, THEY ARE JUST OUTSTANDING EPISODES OF TELEVISION THAT RANK WITH ANYTHING YOU CAN NAME! Especially if you're like me and dispise "social commentary" in your television shows.

This episode is famous for several reasons. First, it is the first time that Luke ever drives the General Lee. His jump over a semi to begin the show, as well as give the General Lee its first great shot of its famous CNH-320 license plates, not only begins the episode with a bang, but is the shot used on the General Lee model kits sold in toy stores in the 1980s. This is also the first episode directed by Don McDougal, the greatest Dukes director of them all, who directed Dukes episodes throughout the show's seven year run. And, of course, this is the last episode filmed in Georgia.

This episode also features sexy character actress Carlene Watkins. Remember the blonde Alex Riger fell in love with when Latka and Simka set everyone up in "The Schlogel Episode" of Taxi? Remember the blonde after Fraiser Crane with a boyfriend in prison and a taste for intimacy in dangerous situtations in Frasier? This is her, young, BRUNETTE, and playing a REVENUER! As Cooter says- "She's a whole lot better looking than ol' Agent Roach"- so much so she even gets Enos' eyes to stray from Daisy and call JD Hogg "Boss" for the only time in the 145 episode run of the series (well- he looked at Vera too when he guest starred on that crossover episode of Alice)!

The plot is great fun- a real cat and mouse game on the moonshine theme the series was based on but later shyed away from- and for the first time it reveals the fact Boss and Uncle Jesse ran shine back in the old days. Bit parts from two actors who appeared in the historic pilot "One Armed Bandits" are included- Champ Laidler as "Old Brodie" and Ralph Pace with such a new look to him in his new character you'd never recognize him from the first episode. It's the only episode Jesse ever breaks his word in as he makes some moonshine "for his country to help solve the energy crisis"- a 1979 history lesson from pop culture if there ever was one! And the General, for one brief shot, has its original checkered-Confederate flag pattern between its rear window and trunk lid!

Remember Gasahol! Learn how we will have fuel for combustion engines even if someday we run out of oil! And buy this great episode! NOW! PULL OUT THE CREDIT CARD! LET THE KIDS GO ANOTHER WEEK WITHOUT NEW SHOES! PUT OFF THE NEW CAR AND DESTROY YOUR CREDIT RATING IF YOU MUST! IT'S THAT GOOD!

If nothing else, you'll finally "get it" after the hatchet job of cutting scenes TNN does to it!

Hi there, I'm in full agreement with the person from Kuwait about the Dukes being the best ever tv series!! Just like them, I want to see them all on DVD too because then they would be more enduring than on vhs... DOH RULES!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars PAL system
hello there, i have a question: i want to order some video stuff, but in Europe we use the PAL system and not the NTSC system.

Is there a possibility to order video's from the eighties tv series like the Dukes of Hazzard, Dynasty, Dallas, etc to use in an European videorecorder?

5-0 out of 5 stars Tongiht on the Dukes................Dukes in Danger!
To Catch A Duke
Original Airdate: February 6, 1981
If money grew on trees, Boss Hogg (Sorrell Brooke) would plant an orchard. Instead, he harvests his foldin' money the old fashioned way: he fines everyone! Caught kissing in public? That's a major offense. Gone fishin' without your weekly license renewal? Hogg's boys will have to write you up. Sopped up your gravy with the cornbread? Well, they only reason that ain't illegal is because Boss does that himself.

In this classic episode, Hogg'sinjustice is just the sort of thing to get the Dukes all riled up and the General Lee all revved up. But when Bo (John Schneider) and Luke (Tom Wopat) ride into town to pay a fine, they run into a freewheeling adventure involving a fortune in stolen jewels. The alleged accomplices in the theft: Bo and Luke. Bo andLuke better act fast before Boss makes a law against an innocent person's name. But can Bo and Luke do it? Order it and find out.

4-0 out of 5 stars How can you hate this?
Admit it. You watched it the first time around, and you caught the reruns on TNN before they went to all-Star Trek. This humor appeals to both the kid and the redneck in you. Enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars TO ME IT IS ONE OF THE BEST TV SHOWS OF ALL TIME

3-0 out of 5 stars Quality...Tsk, Tsk
First of all, the episodes on this volume were great. It's the quality that upsets me. The first episode ("Mork's First Christmas") was in pretty good condition, but the second episode ("Mork Goes Erk") was in REALLY bad condition! I'd rather get these episodes from someone who taped them off Nick at Nite or from the Canadian Comedy Channel.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST BUY IN AGES!
Williams is a comic genius. He may own an Oscar for Good Will Hunting, but Mork is still by far his best work. Mork and Mindy perfectly captures the raw, unpredictable and exceptional comic talent which is purely Williams' own. The two episodes on this video are two of the best episodes from all four years of this heart-warming, side-splitting and award-winning comedy. I would strongly reccommend this video, and all other three volumes, to anyone who likes to laugh. It's one of the best purchases I have made in a long time! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Problaly the most dramatic episodes in the series
When I was little I was a HUGE fanatic of the series (okay I still am, but that's not the point here) These two episodes showcase some of the best dramatic (and we are talking serious acting) from Williams and Dawber.

In the first one, Mindy discovers she has a major case of represed grief after learning her father is remarrying. Mindy's nightmare flash back scared the living daylights out of me when I was little, and it is still very sobering.

The second episode is more typical except at the end when Mork, lamenting celebrity, rattles off a list of famous people who died too young. Although Williams is a master actor, you can tell he slips out of character for a moment when he ads John Lennon with a crack in his voice. Imediately followed by silence (as opposed to the usual gag-signing off, it too is very sobering. Even those too young to remember John Lennon will know the signifigance of the change in plot.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best TV shows I have ever seen.
The Dukes of Hazzard is my favorite TV shows, it is full of car chases and Muscle Cars and it is a very funny TV show. I HOPE THAT ALL EPISODES WILL BE RELEASED ON DVD IN THE NEAR FUTURE, I would like to have all the episodes of each of the SEVEN SEASONS plus the movie that was made specilly for television. I DREAM of owning all of the SEVEN Sesions and the movie I even think about buying CHARGER.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR ALL FULL 7 SEASONS TO BE RELEASED ON DVD, it would be a great idea.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Big Heist
This show is great, simular to the show that Bo and Luke bought the General Lee when it was black. Seems that the only difference was the moonshine and the jewels hidden in the car. But I do not seem to remember the title of that show nor the month of 1979 that it aired, it did not seem to be too far from this show's release. And it is extremely hard to find too. I just wish they would release all of the show's so that we could have them at home, it is getting harder to find them on tv if at all now. Any help out there????? Keep up the work Dukes. I am one fan that would buy the rest that I do not have in my collection. It is a very fine show for everyone to watch.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully Bizzare
Mork and Mindy was a favirote show of mine in the early 80's. Like Teen Wolf, it acknowlleged that being different was cool (added plus, I was living in Colorado)and desirable. I would be able to end up with a partner despite my differences.

This video showcases Willams different characters and Mork's early attempt at romance. It is quintessentially Robin Williams at his nuttyness and funniest. Combined, the two episodes make a fail-safe pick up on your bluest days.

Although M&M are still in their platonic stages at this point, there is a developing attraction. While the flirting is subtler than many today's sitcoms, it is still detectable. Devoted fans of the show (such as moi) know what will eventually happen, but find the subtext absolutely delicious ... Read more

This sitcom anthology introduces viewers to the wacky world of the Partridge Family, the best-loved band of 1970s television. Widowed mom Shirley (Shirley Jones) agrees to quit her bank job and join her five musical kids in the show pilot "What? And Get Out of Show Business?" The band's optimistic harmony and catchy, bubble-gum spirit is introduced to Hollywood (and television viewers around the world) by none other than Johnny Cash. Although a bit rough around the edges, this first episode introduces teen idol Keith (David Cassidy), socially conscious Laurie (Susan Dey), and their manipulative preteen brother Danny (Danny Bonaduce), the capitalist mastermind who brings their garage recordings to reluctant record executive Reuben Kincaid (Dave Madden). Cute kids Chris (Jeremy Gelbwaks) and Tracy (Suzanne Crough) round out the history-making ensemble.

Future stars often passed through The Partridge Family, as witnessed in "Old Scrapmouth," an episode featuring a young Mark Hamill as Laurie's would-be suitor. Her love life, and a national TV spot for the band, is thrown into mayhem by a dentist's pronouncement that she needs braces. Rounding out the video is the show's final episode, "Anchors Aweigh." The suburban singing family seem slightly more mature, and quite a bit shaggier. George Chakiris (West Side Story's Bernardo) drops anchor and sweeps Shirley off her feet as a returning naval hero. But what Keith and Laurie try to bring together, can Danny tear asunder? The episode features Keith strutting out the funky number "Rollercoaster," and healthy helpings of poignant, poppy Partridge splendor. --Grant Balfour ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Point Me In The Direction Of Albuquerque
You just can't beat the Partridge Family. The lovable singing family was a big hit back in the 70's giving us teen idol David Cassidy as Keith. But, my favorite character was the irrascible Danny Bonaduce. Of course Shirley would have had to have several husbands to give birth to such a diverse group of kids. And, Chris made a remarkable transformation during the run of the show, but one brushed aside such matters and waited for the next great song as they went from concert to concert in their Mondrian-inspired bus. Kincaid was alot of fun as their manager. He and Danny played well off each other. I never could see the appeal in Susan Dey, but you get to see her in the spring of youth before going on to do such shows as LA Law. If ever there was a series crying out for a box set of DVD's or a Hollywood remake this is it.

5-0 out of 5 stars "The Partridge Family Is The Best TV Show Ever!"
I liked "The Partridge Family Video Collection". The first three episodes are hilarious! In "What? And Get Out Of Show Business?",we see Shirley Partridge(Shirley Jones) as a mom to her five kids: 16-year-old Keith(David Cassidy),15-year-old Laurie(Susan Dey),10-year-old Danny(Danny Bonaduce),7-year-old Chris(Jeremy Gelbwaks) and 5-year-old Tracy(Suzanne Crough). They get a manager named Reuben Kincaid(David Madden) to help out.

In "Old Srapmouth" Laurie is convinced that she has to wear braces for six months. Mark Hamill of "The Star Wars Trilogy" guest stars as Lauries friend,Jerry.

And in "Anchors Aweigh",the last episode in the series,Shirley's boyfriend Chuck "Cuddles" Corwin(George Chakiris)drops by to meet Shirley, but Keith and Danny follow them on their date.

Partridge fact: The two theme songs you hear are both written by Wes Farrell: "When We're Singin'" was put in the series first season and "Come On,Get Happy" was put in the 2nd-4th season. The song "Together"("Havin' A Ball") was put in the credits in the pilot episode.

5-0 out of 5 stars "The Beginning Of The Partridge Family"
In "What? And Get Out Of Showbusiness?",we see how this 4-year adventure starts. There's 16-year-old Keith (David Cassidy),15-year-old Laurie(Susan Dey),10-year-old Danny (Danny Bonaduce),7-year-old Chris (Jeremy Gelbwaks),and 5-year-old Tracy (Suzanne Crough).Their mom (Shirley Jones) joins the band, along with manager Reuben Kincaid (Dave Madden).

In "Old Scrapmouth",Laurie gets braces, and doesn't want to talk or sing when the family goes on a TV show. Mark Hamill ("Star Wars") guest stars as Jerry.

And in "Anchors Aweigh",Shirley meets up with "Captain Cuddles", but Keith and Danny get suspicious about their mom going out. This was the shows final episode, which aired August 31,1974. The pilot episode debuted September 25,1970. The theme songs are "When We're Singin'" and "Come On,Get Happy". In the pilot episode, the theme song is "Together"("Havin' A Ball").

These are great episodes for the whole family to enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars "The Partridge Family Is GROOOOOOOOOOVY!"
"The Partridge Family" debuted on ABC on September 25,1970. It featured Shirley Jones as Shirley Partridge,David Cassidy as Keith,Susan Dey as Lauren "Laurie" Partridge, Danny Bonaduce as Daniel "Danny" Partridge,Jeremy Gelbwaks & Brian Forster as Christopher "Chris" Partridge,Suzanne Crough as Tracy Partridge, and Dave Madden as Reuben Kincaid.

I like both theme songs, but in the pilot episode "What? And Get Out Of Showbusiness?" the theme song was "tOGETHEr"("Havin' A Ball")

I suggest you add this to your collection,so you can celebrate "The Partridge Family" over and over again!

4-0 out of 5 stars VERY FUN TO WATCH AGAIN --
Although it would have been wonderful to have a cast member or two introduce and narrate these three videos, in their original form, they are plenty entertaining on their own. The first episode, which is actually quite funny, features two songs that have never been on any Partridge recording, and do not feature David Cassidy's voice. LET THE GOOD TIMES IN actually could have been a hit all on its own, and TOGETHER re-appeared a few times in the first season.

Up next is the classic episode revolving around Laurie's braces, and features an adorably young Mark Hamill, the boy would be Luke Skywalker. Again a mellow tune never on a Partridge album (Love Song) is the musical moment in this episode.

It is fun to watch the evolution of all cast members with the final episode of the final season. This episode features ROLLER COASTER, from the final studio album (Bulletin Board) by the musicians and vocalists who were The Partridge Family. The TV show really did have an acerbic wit at times, and the warm presence of Shirley Jones was a major asset. If you loved it then, you'll smile now -- and I think kids of any era would enjoy it on its own terms. ... Read more

The most musical family on TV piles into their kaleidoscopic tour busand coasts across the soundscape of the 1970s once again in these three star-studded episodes. In "Knight in Shining Armor," dreamy teen heartthrob Bobby Sherman invades the Partridges' garage studio with a sound all his own. His quest for the right lyricist leads the crew to a sweet but offbeat hero in this surprisingly heartwarming story--which led to its own spinoff, the short-lived Getting Together. Next, the family raises a stink in a high-society hotel after the bus is visited by a nosy skunk in "But the Memory Lingers On." The comedy of manners and musk is played out to the strains of their first hit single, "I Think I Love You." And finally, in "The Eleven Year Itch," Danny plunges into the perplexities and pitfalls of puppy love with a preteen Jodie Foster. He's coached by Keith, but gets solid pointers from a macho Bert Convy...as he makes his own moves on Danny's mom! Guaranteed nostalgic fun for fans of the silly, sexy '70s. --Grant Balfour ... The Partridges are back in three great episodes. In "A Knight In Shining Armor",teen idol Bobby Sherman drops by to greet the Partridges in this season finale in the 1st season which marked Jeremy Gelbwaks' final appearance as Chris.

"But The Memory Lingers On" has the Partridges encountered by a skunk. One of Danny Bonaduce's favorites. And in "The Eleven Year Old Itch",Danny has a crush on Julie (played by former kid actress Jodie Foster). This set of episodes is for any Partridge fan in the family.

3-0 out of 5 stars Caution:Nervous Mother Driving
I just wanted to write a quick note to advise anyone buying this video looking for the episode featuring "I Think I Love You". There were apparently 2 episodes with this song. This episode has the song playing while the dog chases a skunk. The episode I was looking for had to do with women's lib where the woman Keith was interested in was offended that the family would singthe song. ... Read more

Deputy Dukes
Original Airdate: April 13, 1979.
For has long has there has been a Duke in Hazzard County, there has been the belief that some county peace officers would be over their heads if they stood in a puddle. In Hazzard County, out-witting the sheriff is a game that is as popular as baseball and football combined, and the Dukes are the reigning champions of that sport. So how are Bo (John Schneider) and Luke (Tom Wopat) going to tell Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle) that they've become deputy sheriffs?

In this classic episode, the county's not-so-finest are assigned a risky prisoner transfer, they look for some patsies to take on the job of transporting a man so dangerous that he's Public Enemy #1 (through 10!). They don't have to look far. Bo and LLuke are cooling their heels in the county cell and are steamrolled into the dangerous job. Will the survive? Find out by ordering this piece of television history.

5-0 out of 5 stars I thought that it is the best show in the world

TV's favorite singing family hits the road and tops the charts onceagain with this video collection, highlighting guest appearances by the brightest stars of the 1960s, '70s, and beyond in three different episodes. "Soul Club" features Richard Pryor and an Afro-ed Louis Gossett Jr. as dashiki-clad Detroiters desperate to save their community club from a predatory loan shark. The plucky Partridges, of course, manage to save the day by filling in for absent Motown heroes the Temptations. There's dancing in the streets as Keith does his "Afro thing" and young Danny dons a beret as a member of the "Afro-American Cultural Society." In "A Man Called Snake," an alarmingly convincing Rob Reiner plays a softhearted biker who develops a crush on Laurie after Keith gives a misleading interview. Can the boys save their sister from Snake's affections...and does she really want to be saved? Finally, "I Left My Heart in Cincinnati" features brunette bombshell Mary Ann Mobley as an amusement park PR rep who unleashes an avalanche of puppy love from all the Partridge men...especially roller-coaster phobic Keith. This one features two full musical performances (eat your heart out, MTV!) and cameos by baseball legend Johnny Bench and the Banana Splits. --Grant Balfour ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fight da Powa!!! White bread style.
What up. Richard Pryor be 'bout to lose his club to da homies on Detroit's Sout Side. What be him to do? Get the Temptations to play da club and be happy. Right? Hells no. Temps ain't comin. Now what?

Leave all your worries and anxieties behind. Lil ol' Danny Partridge will solve everythang. Sheet, he coulda ended the war in 'Nam if dey let him in Wash-town.

Da Partridge family save the club in a very realistic way. Dey play their white bread music at a 70's Detroit block party to raise money. Who be wantin' the Temptations after a dose of Danny who strums a bass like a guitar?

Everything ends happy. Danny becomes an honorary member of the Black Panthers and the young militant gets on the bus sporting his new black beret to the shock of his family.

Right on brutha. Solid. Dyno-mite.

5-0 out of 5 stars A TV Classic
The reason I love this video is because it has some of the best shows from the series. There are three episodes, and each episode made me laugh so hard that tears came to my eyes and I rolled out of bed. The next day, I was still laughing.

This sitcom collection features a double dose of 1970s TV fun--withthree episodes featuring the Partridge family singers acting alongside the sexy stars of Charlie's Angels. In "The Sound of Money," a cagey con artist (played by M*A*S*H's Colonel Potter, Harry Morgan) tries suing the family for bumping his Studebaker. Conniving Danny and Mr. Kincaid enlist blonde goddess Farrah Fawcett to help trap him, while the rest of the family take a different tack and decide to kill the con with kindness. Voluptuous Jaclyn Smith throws a curve at the suspicious siblings in "When Mother Gets Married." Desperate for a date, single mom Shirley has to fight off the demons of middle age and the depredations of her offspring when an old friend comes to town. Even freethinking Laurie's well-meaning advice does little more than contribute to the madcap romantic chaos! Finally, cute and cuddly Keith faces "Double Trouble" when he lands two dates to the same beach party. The true object of his affections, a fickle Cheryl Ladd (credited as Cheryl Stoppelmoor), has a panicky Keith mastering his romantic moves, which of course backfire hilariously. Fans of the free-love-and-fun-music decade are sure to be delighted. --Grant Balfour ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars "Get Happy With The Partridges"
In these six fun-filled episodes of "The Partridge Family",you'll find music and fun! In "What? And Get Out Of Showbusiness",you'll see how the Partridges got their start into the music business. In "Old Scrapmouth",Laurie gets braces and doesnt want to open her mouth. Mark Hamill guest stars in this episode. In "Anchors Aweigh!",Shirley meets her high school sweetheart "Captain Cuddles" Corwin. This was the 96th,and last episode for the Partridges. In "A Knight In Shining Armor",teen idol Bobby Sherman drops by on the Partridges. This spawned the series "Getting Together". In "But The Memory Lingers On", The Partridges get sprayed by a skunk who stoiws away on their bus. And in "The Eleven Year Old Itch",Jodie Foster has a crush on Danny, but things turn ugly.

In both videos, you'll hear the first 2 theme songs: "When We're Singin'",and "Come On,Get Happy",althogh in the pilot episode, it's "Together".

5-0 out of 5 stars At Last! A little bit of good old fashioned tv fun on tape.
I was VERY young when my sister was watching these episodes, first run, on television, and for reasons unknown to me, they had stuck with me.

Watching these six episodes again, as an adult, reminded me of how fun, and easy it was in the past to watch and enjoy television!

Granted, the first episode in the series is a little stiff, and does not have the cohesive quality the "family" has in later episodes, but it is truly a must have for true Partridge Family collectors, and casual viewers alike. If you haven't already fallen for the possibility that the perfect mom exists, you will find it in Shirley Partridge.

This two video pack includes the problems with Laurie's braces (guest star-to-be, Mark Hamill), the problems with "Mom" on a date with a Navy officer, the problem with a musically talented intruder (Bobby Sherman), the problem with a skunk on the bus (the episode that spawned the hit, "I Think I Love You"), and finally the problem with an 11 year old girl (a very tom-boyish Jodie Foster), and her crush on Danny. Whew! A lot of problems, and only in six episodes! But, man, what fun those problems are, and what great music that is woven in between them all.

Warning: if you are looking for a chronological set of released episodes, THIS IS NOT IT. It is but a teasing sample, of the fun, warmth, humour, music, and family trials and triumphs that this show shared with us. A gem of a find, especially for us dyed-in-the-wool Partridge Family Fans.

If this is your first visit with the Partridge Family, take a chance...."Let the Sunshine In," and "C'mon Get Happy" with the Partridges (the two songs on the Pilot episode.)

For the rest of us, sit back, and remember the fun. (Oh, and trying to watch this "presented in CBS color" show on a black and white 14 inch TV, with a 2 inch mono speaker. Ah, those were the days...) ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars good ol boys
this is a great movie and it has one of the best dukes plots ever written but it doesnt show the general as much as some other episodes it does show some bueatiful women

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest and most historic episodes of The Dukes!
This second season episode has the Duke Boys not going aftertheir normal fare of dimwitted villians but DRUG SMUGGLERS! Risque in 1980, though not so much today, this topic allows Boss Hogg and Rosco to establish morals in their reoccuring roles as the Duke Boys' comedic opposition by taking a firm anti-drug stance.

Dawson's Creek fans will no doubt recognize, as the devestatingly attractive, bikini clad, brunette bombshell Tinker, the precense of Mary Margaret Humes! Take note if you buy this episode, though. You'll never look at Michelle Williams as the sexpot of Dawson's again! In one memorable scene, Bo (John Schneider) and Tinker argue over who is going to drive the General Lee. Predictably, but most enjoyably, Tinker kisses the keys from Bo. The only question we the viewer has is if Tinker asked for too little. She could have gotten the title to the General and Duke Farm with that kiss and her looks! She also charms directions to the Duke Farm from the Hazzard County Sheriff's Dept. by showing off her "cute little dimples".

Historically, this episode was an attempt at a spin-off series, with travelling PI Mason Dixon (Dennis Rucker) travelling around in an RV and Pontiac Firebird with his two lovely vixen assistants, Robin Eisenmann and Humes. But writer Bruce Howard didn't have the talent to pull it off (he would later, as is his style, make a backhanded comment that the episode should have been a two-parter). Still the episode holds up very well.

This episode also features the permanent return of Rosco Pervis Coltrane to the office of Sheriff of Hazzard County, after James Best's much-too-long six episode sabattical on a dispute over poor working conditions. Also appearing is veteran actor Morgan Woodward as the head of the drug cartel on Razorback Mountain.

Hangliders, inspired by the 1961 film The Guns of Navarone, also make an appearance for the first, but not last, time on Dukes. Certainly worth buying, this may have been writer Howard's best effort, and the sexiness of the guest starring ladies cannot be denied!

5-0 out of 5 stars Another good Dukes Tape for fans
This tape has a delightful show on it. This one about a group of private detectives (who happen to be beautiful woman). They team up with the Dukes to solve a case and of course the boys show interest in the ladies. It a good tape for any Dukes Fan to have. ... Read more
