Robert Englund 4 Ever
You have to love Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger and Urban Legends). This is a rather unusual role for him. I would give away the ending of this movie, but there's no need. You can tell how it's going to end in the first ten minutes. So this is not the best movie of the genre. It's probably the exact opposite. But I gave it three stars. Why? Though I'm still trying to figure this out, I liked the death scenes. There were some moments of sheer terror.
If you are a slasher movie virgin, you might think this is a creative movie. However, if you love slasher movies and have seen "all of them," you might want this movie. The R-rating is for sexual content, nudity, gore violence and I don't remember about the language. For the price Amazon has, it's worth the risk.

Nothing you haven't seen before
Completely pedestrian 'psycho on the loose' film that is further marred by an actor playing a double role... but the actor in question has such a unique facial structure that he is recognizable even trhough the heavy make-up. As such, one of the film's 'revelations' is instead an irritant. Worse, the lead actress isn't really much of an actress.

'Dance Macabre' stars Robert Englund and a bunch of young dancers. A St. Petersburg ballet academy has just opened its doors to dancers from the West and girls have flocked to it in the hopes of studying under a legendary Russian dancer. But then the girls start to vanish, and then they start to turn up dead. Who's the killer?

Actually, unless you're 11 years old and this is the first movie of this type you've ever seen, the 'who' is obvious from the outset. As is the 'why.' And with those out of the way, there's not really any other reason to watch this film... ... Read more

Watch Out Where Those Huskies Go...
Oh no! That nefarious mastermind satan is at it again. In his neverending quest for world domination, he's decided to go after our beloved cheerleaders! Four of them were on their way to the big Huskies game when suddenly, their car was run off the road! One of satan's helpers just happened to drive by and pick them up. This evil man was none other than Billy (Jack "Angry Red Planet" Kruschen), the school janitor / peeping-Tom pervert! He took these poor girls, and their morally upstanding instructor, to a deserted location. Once there, Billy tried to do naughty things to Patti, while Debbie, Sharon, and Chris stood petrified in trances! Thankfully, a jealous satan intervened, knocking Billy out. Whew! Our brave pom-pom commandoes then ran into a bum (John Carradine) who also turned out to be one of the devil's deciples! They ended up at the home of sheriff BL Bubb (John Ireland) and his wife (Yvonne DeCarlo). Sadly, Mr. and Mrs. Bubb were in on the whole thing! In fact, the entire town was nothing more than a coven of mephistophelian hillbillies! They locked up our brave heroines, preparing them for midnight sacrifice. Of course, they needed a "pure maiden" or virgin for this blackest of rituals, so our cheerleaders were saved! Then, Patti had a little surprise for the Bubbs and company, as she turned out to be the dark lord's chosen one. She quickly used her powers to kill the shady sheriff and to establish herself as queen of all satanic cheerleaders. This is a true story...

One for all, and all for one.
Yep, just one review and all in one! Here, we follow 4 proud cheerleading ...(Patti, Debbie, Chris, and Sharon) from their practice at Benedict High and to the first game of the season. But, they are delayed in the meantime. Along with their coach, the cheerleaders are kidnapped by a Satanic cult after getting in a car accident on the way to the game. Why do Satanists want cheerleaders? To use the "unsoiled maiden" in black mass, of course. A virgin? In this movie? *chuckle* Anyway, the cult has a surprise of their own when Patti brings her Master into the picture.

Campy but not as entertaining as other Satan flicks
I actually bought this by accident, intending to buy the "Satan movie with teenage girls" that I remembered seeing on TV two decades ago. I had never seen this film before.

It actually isn't bad, from a bad is good perspective. Some of the acting is just so overwrought it is hysterical. The script is very funny at times, probably unintentionally so. (When the writers tried to be clever, it was obvious.) Yvonne DeCarlo is in it as a high priestess, and it's fun to hear Lily Munster's voice chanting satanic phrases, replete with lots of sound effects as she pleads to Satan to kill the cheerleaders.

If you like looking at young women in skimpy outfits, you'll enjoy the first half hour during which many of them are in bikinis. And you may enjoy when one of the cheerleaders mates with Satan (well, you don't actually see Satan, but that's what you're supposed to believe) on an altar.

While this certainly cannot compete with "Plan 9 From Outer Space" in terms of being the worst film of all time, it does have a number of glaring errors as well, particularly edits which do not make sense.
The worst thing about this movie, however, is that it has too much extraneous junk in it, and only one of the cheerleaders has any connection with Satan. It actually takes a while to even understand why the film is called "Satan's Cheerleaders."

DVD quality is mediocre at best. The mono Dolby Digital sound is almost always intelligible. The picture is okay but there are the occasional black circles and other picture flaws. The only extras are two trailers, one for this film and one for a film called "Ruby." I've never seen "Ruby" but it looks like an attempt to recreate "The Exorcist." The trailer is hysterical but my guess is that the best two minutes of the film were used for the trailer.

I love those 70's B rated movies !!
This movie was fun in a lot of ways,and also somewhat corny too,as you might expect.But take it for what it is....a 70's B movie! Anybody who buys this movie knows they're not going to see an academy award winner,but that's what makes it fun.It doesn't take itself seriously.It has everything you want, a little nudity,great 70's music,4 hot looking cheerleaders with nothing on their minds except....well,you know.Have fun with it and enjoy.

I just want to say this movie is a piece of ... like a 70's b movie which is really really bad, oh and beware of the cover, these people dont even know anything about satan apparently, if you notice the pentegrams they ware are the stars pointed upwards which is the sign of christ haha they would have to have the star being upside down to represent satan so that is a good example to show u that this movie is a waste and has nothing to do with proper satanism, if you want to see a good satanistic scary movie see the devil's rain or the devil's prey. ... The Forbidden Dance
It could have been named The Forbidden Subject, since that's the point of the movie. Anything about the environmental havoc being wreaked on the Amazon is a rare statement, especially if it suggests 'tree hugging.' Well, there you are, in the opening scene the Princess hugs a tender sappling just mowed over by land-raping Petramco. The whole point of their Forbidden Dance competition is to raise awareness of the American Public to the destruction of the land and Ozone layer. That's providing they win the competition and get the air time. Big if! It's a great and talented effort both in dance and style by Laura Herring and Jeff James. Well worth the time, and we won't blow the finale.

Give me a break!
This is a bad movie, with a bad direction, bad actors (at least in this movie), bad story and belive me, this is not lambada (some musics are, but the dance is not)

And for the reviewer below, you must start knowing REAL women 'cause Laura is NOT sensual, she's completely ridiculous (in this movie)...

Cheesy fun!
The Forbidden Dance is a fun movie; badly acted, horribly directed and cheesy, yet strangely engrossing and loveable. It tries to be serious, but fails for the most part because everything about it is so dated. Yet, it is energetic and lively, with upbeat songs and very HOT dancing. You'll ultimately find yourself addicted, without knowing why. Fans of Laura Harring (Mulholland Dr.) should definitely seek this out to see her in an early role. It is much better than the similar Lambada, released in theaters on the same DAY in 1990!!! As fun trivia, Lambada producers sued successfully to have the word "lambada" removed from "The Forbidden Dance"'s official title, though only "The Forbidden Dance" uses the song "Lambada" which launched the short-lived dance craze. The title is now used for the DVD release.

Lambada all night long!
I really enjoyed this movie, i think it'd be even better if remade with newer actors but it still had me interested! I recommend it to anyone over the age of..oh..12 or 13 because after all it is a sexual dance.

Looking for the soundtrack to Forbidden Dance 1990
The movie, actors and most of all the music in this movie was superior and I have been trying to locate a soundtrack to this movie with Kid Creole. He has a wonderful rythem and beat to the music performed in this movie FORBIDDEN DANCE.

Don't Be Fooled by the Low Budget
Despite the fact that this movie is yet another retelling of gangland life during the Prohibition era, the smart performances by the four leads raise this low-budget film above the standard B-movie fare. In particular, it is interesting to see a young Rachel York of recent "Lucy" and "Kiss Me, Kate" fame turn what could have been a stereotypical gun moll/nightclub singer portrayal into a multi-dimensional and heartfelt performance of a 20-something woman whose experiences have made her much older than her years.

While the screenplay lacks depth, the actors do not. The fluid direction and crisp camera work also put this movie on a par with more expensive mainstream ventures. The story won't really tell you anything new about the psyches of killers like the Cole brothers or Dutch Schultz. But the actors who portray them - Christopher Bradley, Jeff Griggs, and Bruce Nozick - give it their all. Their performances are earnest. They do not play caricatures.

If you enjoy discovering surprisingly good acting in less than perfect films, "Killer Instinct" is worth the view. An added bonus is that you get to hear Rachel York sing. She has a terrific voice and she stylizes beautifully. She is the strongest selling point for seeing this film.

Don't Let the Low Budget Fool You
This may be a low-budget film that tells the story once again of warring gangster mobs of the 1930s, but there are some smart performances that make this worth watching. Most notably is an affecting turn by a young Rachel York as the nightclub singer Lotte. Now a big name on Broadway who has most recently received critical acclaim for the CBS movie, "Lucy," and the PBS Great Performance of the revival of "Kiss Me, Kate," York is a talent of great range and beauty. As Lotte she avoids the stereotypical blond moll interpretation and gives us a performance with real depth and dimension. She outshines all of her male co-stars, whose characters are more thinly drawn; but they, too, rise above a script that could have been deadly in the hands of lesser actors or a weaker director.

It's an interesting take, plus you get to hear Rachel York sing. What a voice. I'd recommend this movie for her songs alone. ... Read more

Nobody messes with my hair salon!
Right before director Greydon Clark did "Satan's Cheerleaders", he made this 1976 violent blaxploitation cheese ball about a salon owner/gigolo, Mr. Johnathan (John Daniels, who looks like a smaller, african american Lou Ferrigno) getting revenge on the white mobsters who kidnap his secretary/girlfriend, beat up his gay hairdressers and trash his salon. This has plenty of cheezy acting, especially from the stereotypical gay hairdressers. The film is definitely not boring, except for some romantic 70s montages in the middle. There's plenty of sex, nudity, and violence resulting in a conclusion that involves chainsaw mutilations and a pool cue impaling! It shouldn't dramatically disappoint fans of the genre, but don't expect laughs like the Dolemite films. After you see it once, you probably won't come back to it. Its good for a cheap rental on bad 70s night. Black Shampoo goes mostly for a serious tone, although it has problems staying there. How serious can you take an angry hairdresser?

This is without question the best movie ever made. I have had an audio tape of Black Shampoo (the whole movie) in my car for eight years. One of the best looks at racial tension after 'Nam.
The movie shows it age, but the whole movie does show the tension. You look at today and you see that it is all still there, but covered up better. White man who has a black buddy in 'Nam who gets killed. He goes to the ghetto to inform the father and runs into the brother's gang. Like I stated before, the movie shows its age, but i do think it helps the younger generation realize the way it was....and still is. ... Read more

Malta! Violence! Nudity! DVD!
Man, oh man, where to start....Like most of the reviewers, I first saw this movie on Mystery Science Theater, the season SciFi made them switch to all SciFi movies. Did this movie cause them to be cancelled? Who knows. I DO know that this is an amazing movie: Car chases! Boat chases! Church chases! Float chases!
The plot sort of focuses on a dispeptic, murder-obsessed Texas cop played by Joe Don Baker and his oh-so hot side-kick: a black-eyed, raven haired Maltese beauty whose name escapes me (Helena Abella?). HOT, I SAY! Anyway, they are in Malta tracking a bad, bad Italian that killed Joe-Don's partner, and in return Joe-Don killed the Italian's brother and then the Italian's flunkies arranged for the plane he and Joe-Don were on to land in Malta and that's the back-story. The dvd is great, because all the dancers that you see on stage on MST3K are here and they are all NAKED! Yes! But, Joe-Don's partner is not naked. NO! Well, it's true and this thing was made in 1980-something, so it's too late now. Anyway, if you want ACTION, if you want ADVENTURE, if you want THRILLS, CHILLS and lots of high-fat sauce SPILLS...you just "go ahead on" and buy FINAL JUSTICE!!!!!!

Where to start?Well, big fat Texan cop goes to Malta for no adaquetly explored reason. He then gets involved in some kind of 'mystery', spends about three weeks chasing around the back streets of Malta five feet from the bad guys. I agree with the guy above, bad movie. The extra stars go to Best Brains for the MST3K version of this movie that I saw.

A great action movie!!!
This is one great action movie!!! The great quirky casting of Joe Don Baker(Walking Tall,Goldeneye,Joysticks,Cool Hand Luke,In The Heat Of The Night TV Series),Bill McKinney(Deliverance,Lots of Eastwood films!),Rossano Brazzi(The Christmas That Amost Was'nt)and director of the film Greydon Clark appears as a sheriff makes this one cool movie,despite not having much of a plot!!! Critics didn't like this film but I did!!! And the DVD version from Digital Versatile Disc Ltd. looks so much better than those old VHS tapes out there!!! Sure it's a bit grainy, but thats the way it was shot!!! A great drive-in movie finally getting reissued on DVD!!!

A five start MSTing......a negative 3 for the movie
I loved this MST3K episode. It's great fun, poking fun of a great B-actor, Joe Don Baker. As Tom Servo puts it, "Awww, can't I have just one more justice?"

A laugh riot! Absolutely not about skinhead culture
Man this film is funny. Chuck Conners must have been high on fumes when he participated in this excrementitious travesty. There is nothing that one normally equates with quality or enjoyment in this thing. Its portrayal of skins is laughably one-sided. They are merely ciphers with no recognizably human characteristics. The purpose of this is merely to portray skinheads as vermin needing extermination. This treatment fails to take into consideration the simple fact that many skins are quite admirable. They aren't psychopaths and do not commit random acts of murder. However one feels about a particular group's perceived motivations and philosophy--they still deserve to be portrayed objectively.

For a film calling itself "Skinheads", this one shows nothing of the skinhead community. It is rather misleading in that it suggests that one might learn something about skinheads and how they think. All we have are cliches that can be gleaned from a typical article about skinhead violence in any commercial tabloid. The purpose is to not only demonize these particular skins, but all individuals (White separatists, etc) who hold similar views.

The movie merely tries to horrify its audience by making a cheap slasher picture with skinheads instead of a derranged idiot in a hockey mask. At least when Jason killed the couple for having sex, you got to catch them in flagrante delicto. These skins have no philosophy--they are just mad killers. The lead skin spouts off cliches about loving Adolph Hitler and the survival of the fittest/strong--but there is no indication that he possesses the capacity to articulate a justification for any of his beliefs. He certainly doesn't express anything remotely coherent about Hitler and why he considers him to be so sexy. He's merely a thug who is dressed up to be a skinhead. He's completely distructive and utterly devoid of the instinct for self-preservation. He doesn't care about his "people" any more than slugs care about "Fraggle Rock".

Strangely, the "victims" of the skins wrath are so utterly banal and worthless--that one wishes them to be horribly transfigured into mounds of gibbering flesh. Instead, we get a lousy shootout, with Chuck Conners replacing his walker with a rifle. His gleeful sexism and hatred of Nazi "scum" make him your all-American hero for like five seconds. I know the director and producers were counting on those images of leather-armed C.C. to give this trainwreck some integrity. I thought his moronic macho posturing was the funniest thing in the whole damn movie. Really, I would give this thing 5 stars for its comedy value, but I don't want to even incidentally praise this waste product for any reason.
