5-0 out of 5 stars Both the televison pilot and the first Fleisher cartoon
Volume 1 on "TV's Best Adventures of Superman" has the first and last episodes of the syndicated television series starring George Reeves that ran from 1952-1957. "Superman on Earth" (Episode #1), written by Richard Fielding, tells the story of how the infant Superman was rocketed from the dying planet Krypton to Earth, where he was raised by a kindly couple, the Kents (renamed Sara and Eben for some reason). When he grows up Clark Kent gets a job as a reporter at the Daily Planet, a great metropolitan newspaper, while Superman makes his first appearance and rescues a man from a dirigible. Then in "All That Glitters" (Episode #104), Superman's friend, Professor Pepperwinkle, has figured out how to transmutate base metal into gold. Of course, crooks force the professor to make lots of gold for them, but it seems the professor has an even bigger secret. He knows how to turn any man into a Superman. This final episode, directed by George Reeves and filmed in color, was written by Robet Leslie Bellem and Whitney Ellsworth. Phyllis Coates plays Lois Lane in the pilot while Noel Neill had the role from the second season on, Jack Larson is Jimmy Olson and John Hamilton rules as Perry White. As a very special treat, in between these two episodes is the first Superman cartoon by Dave Fleisher, which was nominated for an Oscar in 1941. The cartoon provides a brief explanation of Superman's origin (this time he is raised at an orphanage), and then we are introduced to what would be the standard format for this cartoons: Lois Lane goes off on an assignment, gets into big time trouble, and is rescued by Superman. Clearly, this first volume is the one to have if you are only going to have one Superman tape in your collection (the "Superman and the Mole Men" two-part episode/movie would be the second).

3-0 out of 5 stars Wish these were still on TV...
This is it! That great first episode when Superman comes to Earth. Great fun, good fiction, campy directing. Who could ask for more. There is a cartoon between 2 George Reeves episodes. The cartoon is clever but not nearly as much fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Must see television !
This stuff is the basis of the 50'S! Reeves was the #1 hero of his generation. You should see this historical footage. ... Read more

A pioneer of America's first frontier came to life every week for years--now you can relive his adventures with Daniel Boone: Premiere Episode. In "Ken-Tuck-E," Fess Parker as our national hero must take territory from the natives in order to prepare for war with the British.Along the way, we meet his family, friends (including Ed Ames as Mingo), and enemies as "Dan'l" fights, talks, and sings his way through scrape after scrape. Though some of the characterizations might offend modern sensibilities, if viewed in context the show can be seen as respectful (except possibly to the British and raccoons). This classic episode shows why Daniel Boone stayed in living rooms for so long--charm and adventure go a long way in this country. --Rob Lightner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THE DAYS OF YESTERYEAR
As several have said, Fess Parker was a better Daniel Boone than a Davy Crockett. Oh well, he was Davy only four or five times, and Daniel about SIX YEARS. Practice does make perfect. This is a good video for nostalgic reasons and fairly believable acting. If you are a historian who nitpicks about accuracy, then don't watch. It was amazing to see Plains TeePees intermingled with East Coast wigwams. Some of the tribal costume was out of place as well. Oh yes, some of the "Indians" needed a little more berry juice for complexion.
Other than that, this is an excellent video. It is very family oriented(Daniel does not take the Indian wife that is offered to him because Becky is waiting back home), his family always runs to meet him, and gets angry if he has to leave again. He tells stories to his children, and sings to the Missus.
Yes, there is some violence and killing and probably excessive, but Dan'l doesn't kill unless it is to protect someone, and tries avoid it if possible.
These things just are not done in films today, and if they are attempted they just don't have the same spirit.
This video(may there soon be more!!) also gives our children a chanced to see a program that excited us when we were young. everyone has seen all the Peanuts cartoons, and odds and ends of famous sci-fi, but this is a simpler life video.
It is also great to see familiar faces we haven't heard from in years like Ed Ames, and did anyone notice George "Goober Pyle" Lindsay up on the stockade wall during the battle?
AHHHH for the days of clean, if very inaccurrate historical stories. Yes we were very prejudiced in those days, but I think things like this were the beginning of racial acceptance.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dan'l Boone living large on the frontier of Ken Tuck E
"Ken Tuck E" is the pilot episode for "Daniel Boone," which originally aired on September 24, 1964. Fess Parker, who had become famous in the 1950's playing Davy Crockett for Disney, became even more successful as American frontiersman and folk hero Daniel Boone. Technically a "Western," the series was set in the 18th century, right before the American Revolution, when the "west" was the North Carolina-Tennessee-Kentucky! In this pilot episode Dan'l gets his friends, both Indians and settlers, ready to fight the British. Ed Ames co-starred as Dan'l's Indian friend, Mingo, while Patricia Blair played Rebecca Boone, Veronica Cartwright was daughter Jemima, and Darby hinton son Israel. The show also featured Albert Salmi as Yadkin and Dal McKennon as Cincinnatus, the tavern-keeper of Boonesborough. This first episode is certainly representative of the series, which focused on Boone's encounters with friendly and hostile Indians, his pioneering exploits, and his relationship with his family. I know I am not alone in thinking that Parker made a better Daniel Boone than he did a Davy Crockett.

5-0 out of 5 stars great family entertainment
I agree with the other reviewers, this is great family entertainment that you aren't ashamed of letting your kids and family see. I think all the baby boomers and even some of the kids of today would enjoy seeing this series on DVD or at least VHS.

Please pass this on to the ones who decide what is coming out next on video.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great tape Wonderful Return to the Past
One of the best TV Shows of the 60's. I hope more Fess Parker Daniel Boone shows will be available. This was pure entertainment.I have wondered for years why this program was not out on tape. During those years we watched it every week. Those were heroes you could cheer for. I would like to own all the Daniel Boone TV shows.I hope Amazon.com will be able to offer more of these. 4-0 out of 5 stars Two more Superman episodes and a Superman cartoon
Volume 3 of "TV's Best Adventures of Superman" offers up a couple of episodes from the syndicated television series starring George Reeves that ran from 1952-1957. First up is "Panic in the Sky" (Episode #38), where an asteroid not only causes floods and earthquakes, it gives Superman amnesia. Then in "The Big Freeze" (Episode #68), crooked politicians led by Duke Taylor (George F. Stone) take over Metropolis and plan on freezing Superman to keep him out of the way. Sandwiched in between the two television episodes is the 1941 Fleischer Studios Superman cartoon "The Magnetic Telescope," in which an astronomer invents this telescope that ends up drawing an asteroid towards Earth. Obviously they picked this cartoon for this particular volume because it matches up nicely with "Panic in the Sky." These are representative episodes from "the Adventures of Superman," but I would not call any of them classics.

4-0 out of 5 stars THE FIRST LIVE-ACTION SUPERMAN
THIS 1948 15-CHAPTER SERIAL FEATURES SUPERMAN [PLAYED HERE BY THE LATE KIRK ALYN] GOING UP AGAINST A GANG OF CROOKS. THIS IS A HELL OF A LOT BETTER THAN THE 1950S TV SHOW THAT FEATURED GEORGE REEVES! AT LEAST THIS SERIAL WAS FUN TO WATCH AND AT LEAST YOU CAN GET INTO WHAT'S GOING ON IN THIS MOVIE. YOU MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO FIND THIS SERIAL IN STORES TODAY, BUT, IF, BY SOME CHANCE, YOU COME ACROSS THIS VIDEO, GET IT!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars First live-action Superman has good opening, but bogs down
The best parts of SUPERMAN (1948), a 15-chapter serial produced by Columbia Pictures, are found in the first three or so chapters when we see a lot of Superman lore adapted to film, including the destruction of Krypton, young Clark growing up on a farm with the Kents, and Clark coming to Metropolis and joining the staff of the Daily Planet. We also get to see Superman do lots of superheroic deeds such as rescuing people from disasters. Afterwards, however, it settles into a standard cliffhanger formula with Superman battling the Spider Lady (Carol Forman), a conventional serial villainess and criminal gang leader who sends her standard-issue thugs and henchmen (middle-aged guys in suits, ties and fedoras) out to kidnap Lois and knock out Jimmy Olsen with growing monotony in every episode.

On the plus side, the Superman flying effects are carried out through cartoon animation. This enables Superman to be seen flying through a variety of locales. (If Republic Pictures had shot this, they would have repeated the same shot over and over of a stuntman in costume flying on a wire strung from one rock in the San Fernando Valley to another.) Also, Noel Neill's Lois is as spunky here as the character ever got. Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, the ever-smiling Lois plunges into the action wholeheartedly time and time again, frequently making Superman look weak and overly cautious in comparison. Neill played the part again in the sequel, ATOM MAN VS. SUPERMAN, and later in all but the first season of the TV series.

A word about the sequel: ATOM MAN is far superior to this one, with a stronger, more comic book-appropriate villain in Lex Luthor, many more clever and imaginative sci-fi twists, and a more carefully devised script and structure. Superman also gets to do many more heroic feats of strength and the animated effects are more plentiful too.

5-0 out of 5 stars IN DVD
Please..some body can tell me why WARNER STUDIO dont launch the original serie in DVD???? Why??? thanks any information.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest things I have ever seen!
A week ago I bout the 1948 Superman serial here from Amazon and I loved it! It is powerfully charming and fun to watch! There is a total of 15 chapters on the tapes and they are each 20 minutes long and end with a very suspenseful cliff hanger! I have showed it to my friends and there families my family and everyone loves it! I think you should buy it today! No one should have to live and not watch this! It is a must have! Now I'm going to give you a summary of the first three chapters:
Chapter 1 - Superman Comes To Earth: Galaxies far from ours there is the blue planet Krypton. Krypton is a world of advanced science and mystery. One day Jor-EL a member of Krypton's council board and one of the brilliant scientist on Krypton, makes a startling discovering! He learns that the mighty Krypton is coming upon its last hours, Krypton is being drawn into its red sun and will explode! He tells the rest of Krypton's council leaders this and tells them that all of Krypton's population must flee to the planet Earth, in spacecraft! The council leaders laugh at his discovery and vote to stay on Krypton; Jor-EL calls them fools and leaves! At Jor-EL's home he tells his wife what just happened, they both agree to send their baby boy Kal-EL on Jor-EL's experimental rocket and send it to Earth. After Kal-El is put into the rocket and lunched into space, the planet Krypton explodes, killing all of its people except Kal-EL! On Earth in a small town a farmer and his wife witness some sort of spacecraft come out of the sky and land on the ground! The farmer opens the spacecraft and finds a baby boy raped in fireproof blankets, the farmer and his wife adopted the boy that came out of the sky and name him Clark Kent. It's not long after Clark starts to grow, he learns he is no ordinary boy and can perform impossible deeds! When Clark grows up he vow's to his foster parents that he will use his powers for truth justice and the American way! His foster mother give's him a suit that she made from the blankets Clark was raped in when he first came to Earth. He tells them he will wear it only when he is SUPERMAN!
Chapter 2 - Depths Of The Earth: There is a mine disaster and reporters from the Daily Planet in Metropolis are sent on a train to cover the story. But a track is broken and the engineer of the train is not warned in time and is going to crash! Before a train goes over the broken track, a man in a cape and a giant "S" symbol on his shirt, comes out of the bushes and fixes the track with his bare hands. The train is safe but the queer man who help has run off. In Metropolis Clark Kent is in a cab and asks to go to the Daily Planet, on the way Clark sees a building on fire and asks the cabby to pull over! Clark gets out and use's his x-ray vision and sees a women inside the building, Clark say's to himself, "This looks like a job for Superman!" and changes into a suit with a cape and a giant "S" symbol on it. In an instant flies into the building grabs the women flies back out with her in his arms, next he drops her off safely and runs off. At the Daily Planet Clark asks Perry White the chief editor at the Daily Planet, if he can have a job. Perry is about to say no but gets a phone call instead. On the phone are Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen they were sent to do a story on the mine disaster but the police won't let them in. Clark say's to Perry that if he could get in and get the story, if he could have a job, Perry agrees. At the mine disaster Lois finds a way into the mine but gets caved in and now is left to die by dangerous fumes!
Chapter 3 - The Reducer Ray: Superman comes to the rescue and brakes through the mine and saves Lois and the miners and then runs off again! When Lois and Jimmy get back to the Daily Planet they are mocked because someone else got the story and Lois is really mad! Next her and Jimmy meet the newest member at the Daily Planet, Clark Kent! In a secret hideout the Spider Lady ruler of the underworld of crime want's to steal a very powerful weapon called the Reducer Ray, it can blow up any thing with a blast bigger then a the atomic bomb. Her first plot to steal it is unsuccessful for Superman stops her. That night a meteor crashes near Metropolis. At the Metropolis Museum Professor Leeds wants show reporter Clark Kent the meteor. It is in a lead box, Leeds tells Clark that it is very strange and thinks that it comes from the planet Krypton that exploded many years ago! When Leeds takes off the lid the meteor glows green and Clark falls down dead!

5-0 out of 5 stars THANK YOU FOR THE TRIBUTE TO FLEISHER SUPERMAN CARTOONS

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best cliffhanger-serials
If you love the cliffhanger-serials with Zorro and The Black Whip - you'll love this one, too. 13 thrilling episodes with the famous cliffhangers (explodiong boats and so on) will keep you in front of the screen for days - because you should never watch more than one episode a day! 5-0 out of 5 stars reeves was the perfect clark kent
crime wave is probabaly the best episode from the adventures of superman. its clips along at break neck speed, superman kicks bad guy butts, it actually looks grittier in glorious black and white and it has the real lois lane in phyllis coates.
reeves superman may have been padded but he had a grit and non chalance that both the earlier superman (kirk alyn) and the later superman (christopher reeve)lacked.
allans superman was a bit of a goofy jimmy stewart type while christopher reeve overplayed the bumbling nerd part. george reeves kent was a normal, mysterious tough reporter. word was that reeves hated playing the part and if anything it made him give the part an extra dose of efforted dignity it otherwise might have lacked.
too, the first couple of seasons of the adventures of superman were the best. alas, the producers were a little nervous about coate's edgy lane and so they removed her, toned down reeves kick butt attitude and essentialay turned into a little kiddies show. but, even then the series had some decent moments, one of which; the perils of superman, is included here. its a charming homage to the movie serials and deflty directed by reeves himself.
sandwiched in between the two is the incomparable fleischer brothers cartoon mechanical monsters.
appropriately, no celluloid superman best exemplified the fleischer's animated superman better than reeves.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best tape in the Adventures of Superman series
Like the others in this series, Volume 2 of the "Adventures of Superman" series offers up a pair of black & white and color episodes from the syndicated television series starring George Reeves that ran from 1952-1957, along with one of the Fleischer Superman cartoons. "Crime Wave" (Episode #24) finds Superman fighting a crime wave that is sweeps Metropolis only to be exposed to atomic rays. This is one of the absolute classic episodes from this series, but this tape gets even better. "The Perils of Superman" (Episode #103), finds a master criminal planning a series of traps to snare each of Superman's friends: Lois (Noel Neill), Jimmy (Jack Larson), Perry White (John Hamilton, and Clark Kent (George Reeves). Of course, this is a plan that works so well it fails (for obvious reasons). This was the second to last episode of the series and another classic. The Fleischer's Cartoon "The Mechanical Monsters" is from 1941 and the second in the Superman series. The Man of Steel battles an army of giant, flying robots that spew flame in a series of sensational scenes. This is one of the best of the Superman cartoons and the only reason that this best volume in the "Adventures of Superman" series is not #1 is because that tape has the pilot and final episodes on it. But this is the one that will impress you the most from the dramatic opening narration to the final fade out on Reeves and the rest of the cast.

5-0 out of 5 stars Vintage Superman
Warner Home Video has issued only a few one-hour volumes of television's "Adventures of Superman," but Volume 2 is by far the best -- evoking fond memories of the classic series. "Crime Wave" (1951) and "Perils of Superman" (1957) represent some of the finest b&w and color episodes, with George Reeves in great form as the definitive Man of Steel. Sandwiched between the two episodes is "The Mechanical Monsters" (1941), an excellent Superman cartoon from the Fleischer Studios. Since Warner and DC Comics own the original negatives, the Fleischer short looks terrific. It's nostalgic, fast-paced fun for young and old.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of the TV Show!
Any Superman fan can't go wrong with this one! "Crime Wave" is one of the most gripping tales of the 1951 season, complete with stock footage of all of the great fight scenes from that year! "Perils of Superman" is one of the best color episodes, and proves that George Reeves had a great future as a director! The Max Fleischer cartoon is beautifully animated, but it's the two TV episodes that MAKE this video! BUY IT, and see why Reeves is remembered so fondly as the TRUE Man of Steel! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars SAL MINEO: Rebel with a cause
Originally a hit teleplay , Sal Mineo reprised his role of Dino Minetta for this 1957black & white theatrical version.  Dino is almost 17 years old,  and just got out of a reform school, for participating in a murder at age 13.  When he arrives at his family's modest apartment, he finds his mother left a note, explaining she and his father had to go to work, and couldn'twelcome him home.  All the neighbourhood kids know of his crime, and make wise cracks.  Dino, is on the verge of "exploding", and his parole officer knows it, so he convinces a social worker, named, Sheridan (played by Brian Keith, of tv's "Family affair"), to try and help Dino, and keep him from going back to prison.  But, Dino's not open for discussion! He wantsnothing to do with Sheridan, or his parole officer's help.  At home, things are not getting better, as Dino's father is very abusive, and his mother doesn't try to understand. Only, his younger brother, Tony,  looks at him with the respect Dino seeks. Only, Tony admires Dino's criminal ways, and talks him into helping a neighbourhood gang plan an armed-robbery.  Sal's performance here is very convincing.  Creating a character who is hard as nails on the surface, slowly revealing the scared, lost boy who lurks under all the loneliness.  In a key scene, where Dino breaks down inSheridan's office,  Sal emotes so much gut wrenching emotion, in thisscene, revealing he never got affection from his parents. And when he saysthe line, "How come nobody ever kissed me?", and breaks down in tears, you feel his pain. Riveting.  This film also pairs Mineo with actress, SusanKohner. (This beautiful, talented,  young actress would later again starwith Sal, in the classic hit, "The Gene Krupa story").  As Dino's loveinterest, Shirley, she also provides Sal with his first onscreen kiss.  Asthe film approaches it's exciting climax, Dino has learned, he can beloved, and you can see how his character finally feels hope.  But after saying goodnight to Shirly, Dino goes to meet the gang for the planned robbery.  WIll Dino have the guts to stand up to the gang? Or will he decide to gothrough with the robbery, and go back to jail? One of Sal Mineo's bestperformances, and a top notch cast, and production, make this movie atimeless classic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sal Mineo has got to be the best!
When I first saw Sal in Rebel, I figuired he couldn't get any better. Evidently, he can! He does an amazing job of showing the mind set of a juvnelle dilequent. Myself, being a teen, he relates on a tremendous different levels. He has always inspired me and this movie really hit my heart. His performance carries the entire film, carrying his veiwers to tears. Sal just has to be the best!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool video and box cover art!
Sal mineo gives one of his best performances here! Forget rebel without a cause! Sal shows us here that he was on Deans level of excellence as a true method actor. My ex-girlfriend preferred Mineos acting to Deans,I personally hold the 2 as equals! THis is a cool fifties juvenile delinquent film with a conscience. Checkout susan Khoners cool glasses ,groovy daddio!Sals rolled up levies look pretty spiffy too!

5-0 out of 5 stars A tough kid in need of some affection
I think this is Sal Mineo's best role ever! He plays Dino Minette a boy who gets sent to reform shcool for helping murder someone. Dino gets out 3 years later a tough kid who is mad at the world. We soon find out that Dino is really just afraid and in need of love. Dino's parole officer (Frank Faylen) knows he is about to "explode" and sends him to a "head doctor" named Larry Sheridan (Brian Keith). Dino hates this at first but soon shows Sheridan that he is in need of his families love. In a key scene Dino breaks down on Sheridans couch. Screaming and crying he says that all his father did was hit him but never gave him any love. Sheridan tells him that this is not his fault and he has to carry on with his live. In one of the last scenes of the movie Dino attends his first dance. There he meets a very kind girl named Shirley who helps him change his outlook on life. Dino also has a younger brother named Tony (played by Sals own brother Mike). Tony admires Dino for his "bad boy" ways. Dino likes this at first but in the end must find a way to keep his brother from following in his foot steps. This a wonderfully movie with an excellent cast. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good tear jeaker!

5-0 out of 5 stars Way to go Sal !!!!!!!!!
Sal Mineo, thee most talented actor ever to bless the silver screen in the 20th Century, show's the world what true acting is all about. Sal plays the role of Dino, a young boy who got mixed up in the wrong crowd, and was sent to a detention centre for 3 years for his involvement in a murder.

Dino emerges 3 years later, a tough, but very afraid kid, who resents that his family never visited him while he was away, and that more importantly to him, he was never kissed. Sal Mineo, portrays Dino so well, and even his real life brother Michael plays the role of his on screen brother Tony.

This movie is SO good, and is one you must see. It makes me sad though, that Sal Mineo is no longer with us, as if you buy this, you'll see how brightly Sal Mineo the movie star truly shines. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars TV's Best Adventures of Superman Volume No. 1.
I had bought TV's Best Adventures of Superman Vol. No.1 from another video company and found it to me,to be of extremely delightful Superman entertainment. The Superman cartoon contained within Volume No.1 was the first time I ever saw a Superman cartoon. It was beautiful!! I too was so happy to watch again after such a long time, classic episodes from the classic TV series with George Reeves. It brought back so many Superman memories from my childhood!! I have been a fan and a big fan of Superman since I was a little boy and I still am now at age 35.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
My dad and I both Knew George, watching this tape brings back
good thoughts of a nice person.

4-0 out of 5 stars Stupid bad guys think they can impersonate Superman...
Bad guys impersonate Superman and Jimmy Olson on this videotape, which contains two episodes from the "Adventures of Superman" television series starring George Reeves and an animated "Superman" cartoon. In "The Face and the Voice" (B&W Episode #36 November 21, 1953), a gangster has plastic surgery done on his face so he looks like Superman and the Man of Steel gets blamed for a series of crimes he did not commit. Hayden Rorke plays the psychiatrist, just like he will do on "I Dream of Jeannie." In "Jimmy the Kid" (Color Episode 4:6 April 28, 1956), a gang of phony investment operators hire a double for Jimmy Olsen (Jack Larson) to break into the Daily Planet. Both of these episodes feature Noel Neill as Lois Lane. In "Showdown," one of the Superman cartoons produced after the demise of Fleischer Studios, there is a Superman imposter who likes to steal jewels for the crime boss of Metropolis. Clark and Lois catch up with the phony at the opera, where it is up to the real Superman to bring down the curtain on him (sorry, couldn't resist that one). George Reeves was certainly the perfect Clark Kent and the Fleischer Superman has always been my favorite, so this tape provides the best of both worlds. But even as a kid I could not understand how anyone could be fooled by a fake Superman. Everyone knows Superman only does good deeds.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great series, but WHERE'S THE DVD????
These are remarkably good shows. The basic themes are simple and repeated time and again. But the sense of humor displayed by the writers and the not inconsiderable charismatic persona of George Reeves make this series a cut above.

BUT WHERE'S THE DVD???????????

5-0 out of 5 stars Superman Super Video
These episodes brought me back to when I was 9 years old, putting everything else aside and devoting 100% of my x-ray concentration time to watching each weekly half hour show with my friends. The music (which is repeated so often over the course of these and all the episodes in the series) really struck a nerve. I understand there are more than 100 episodes in the entire series. I'm sure that many of my brother boomers would agree: What a fantastic DVD package that would make! ... Read more

Otherwise the whole charme of these serials would be lost. The video is in excellent quality (like most of the Republic-serial-tapes). You should waste no more time reading this review and so I'll stop right now and say: Buy it! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Recycled plot still works
It's the same story as in Buck Jones' "The Texas Ranger" (1931), Tom Keene's "Come On, Danger" (1932), George O'Brien's "Renegade Ranger" (1939) and Tim Holt's "Come On, Danger!" (1942) in which a lawman goes undercover to bring in a female bandit leader, only to find she's been forced into outlawry by a crooked tax collector and change sides. This time, Sunset Carson is the lawman, Peggy Stewart the lady outlaw and Roy Barcroft, the villain, an great trio from Republic Pictures -- although it has nothing whatever to do with Billy the Kid. ...
