Loved Kolchak
I remember enjoying the show when it was on. It scared me to death. Then in it's repeat later, I enjoyed it again. I had been waiting a long time for it to come out on vhs and maybe, I've missed it, but now I'm glad I've found it. I don't own it yet, but you can be sure I will own it shortly.

I also have a comment about the certain "federal agent". I can't help it. I adore Mulder. And it shows a compliment to the creaters of Kolchak that an unknown writer, (Chris Carter) would use the ideas and put a twist on it.

Kolchak is the man !
The " Night Stalker" ( as Kolchak is known to many of us who watched the series as children, ) is much more entertaining, endearing, and human than a certain 'federal agent ' of recent near- cultism. Vincenzo ( The editor ) is always on our hero's back, only to be frustrated to his wit's end when Kolchak comes through, despite the obstacles faced him.

GREAT only words to describe it!
Darren Mcgavin is awesome in the night stalker possibly the best 70s original show this tape is 2 of the best episodes fans get a real treat listening to Mcgavins wit and humour as well as his serious side fantastic series.

Great Video - Horror & Comedy Combined
Hmmm, I suspect this is the episodes "The Ripper" and "The Vampire" combined together. They're not the absolute best of the 20 Kolchak episodes produced in 1974-75, but they're definitely in the top 10. The Night Stalker is a series that combines horror and comedy - reporter Carl Kolchak is a bit of a bumbler, and is as likely to run in terror from the approaching monster than confront it. Nancy's first TV episode - Hugely Enjoyable
My first time to see Nancy Drew (and more importantly, Pamela Sue Martin as Nancy Drew!) in about twenty years. And a real pleasure it was.
The story-line was, well, rather sweet and inoffensive (Nancy investigates - gasp - a haunted lighthouse) but since when has "sweet and inoffensive" been a crime? The performances were great (particularly Pamela Sue Martin, who makes a wonderfully assertive and confident heroine), the story held my interest more than I thought it would (particularly in the latter half when Nancy started to put things together and I found that I was being surprised by the well thought-out scripting) and the whole package was as entertaining as Rockford Files, or Harry O, or any other seventies 'tec show that we grew up with.
I would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone who remembers the series with fondness, and would even feel confident that it would be good enough to entertain a friend who had never set eyes on the show before.

A leader for modern independent women on tv.
LET ME START BY SAYING THAT THIS SHOW IS SOLID. The clothes are (hardly)not dated. It is still great to watch. I loved watching the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mystery hour. When I got this video I watched it not just once, but a few times. I loved taking a stroll back in time. I just want to know what happened to George's cousin, Nancy's other co-hort "in crime". I can't wait to get my next ND video.

An Eerie thriller- fun for kids at Halloween
While out in a boat during a party, Nancy and friends spot a mysterious light coming from a supposedly abandoned lighthouse. Robert Wagner Fan
YES! Please DO make a new movie -- AND PLEASE release the entire series! It Takes a Thief is my all-time favorite TV show and Robert Wagner is STILL my favorite actor! I, too, would buy every single one!

Yes there should be a major motion picture based on "It Takes A Thief," but I suggest Rob Lowe as his son. Would also buy a DVD collection of every episode.

RW as Alexander Mundy - It Takes a Thief
And it would take an exceptional talent to one up Wagner in this pilot for the excellent series that followed. I enjoyed Fred Astaire playing Wagners dad in the tv series. The fabulous 60's. It Takes a Thief will go down as one of the best tv series of that golden era. Saw RW on the Larry King show recently. He still looks fantastic at 72! Hey RW, how about a 2002 version of "The return of Alexander Mundy." Is the actor who played Noah Baine still around? Great series. I loved it.

Great series
That was a great series, they have released other series on DVD that were not as popular at the time but so far not this one.
I wonder what they are waiting for.

My favorite TV show of all time
I don't know why I love this series but I do. As with a previous reviewer, I would love to own Magnificent Thief on DVD and I would purchase the entire series on DVD as well. I have all episodes on VHS and watch them over and over. Some of the best episodes are "Takes one to know one" and Turnabout. Love this stuff. Maybe we should write to Universal and start bugging them to get this series out on DVD. Anyway, this "made for TV" movie set the stage for the short lived series (1968-1970) and I want more. Maybe Wagner should do another movie as Alex Mundy only 30 years later with Tom Cruise as his son following in his footsteps. Tom is optional. ... Read more

hawkeye from the inside looking out
I had a recurring role as a British Soldier (non speaking part) in Hawkeye and it was a great show to be on. It was filmed ENTIRELY on location in a purpose built fort in the Seymour watershed of Vancouver B.C. Linda C. was GREAT to work with and an elegant lady! All of the soldiers in the series were ex military or young militia guys and there was also a set historian to keep things in proper historical context. I am a bit older and had a "look" about me so I got to do lots of mean things like shooting a native woman in the back, hanging a young innocent guy and stuff like that! We were kept under "military discipline" from the moment we got on set in the morning till end of day. i.e. we had ranks as per military and we marched onto the set each morning to fife and drum, ran up the flag and gave it the old "God Save the King" business. Then we would march out and over to the holding area and await our scenes. Some of the guest directors were stunned and most pleased to see us marching up in the morning to the fort. As a result of this when it came to doing battle scenes we had a very good discipline on the set amid all the chaos that ensues in filming battles. It was a great relief for them to work with troops who had previous experience operating under fire! It was a blast but I have never bothered to do it again (act) as I am a writer (search amazon for a book by me) but it was an experience I will never forget. I bought a vhs copy of the episode THE SEIGE on amazon today.

Hawkeye (pilot)
This was a wonderful, family oriented series and it is a shame that it was taken off the air . Lee Horsley is a very versitile,
and talented actor and gave the Hawkeye character warmth, moral integrity and strong, manly attributes.I highly recommend
this video.I hope that a syndicated network will bring this series back

HAWKEYE - PILOT
As a big fan of Lynda Carter, Lee Horsley, Rodney Grant, and American History - this was the perfect video for me. It is beautifully acted and scripted with breathtaking scenary and a hauntingly beautiful opening theme. For those who appreciate period pieces, of which there are far too few, I highly recommend this entire series. It's a real shame that this quality show was taken off the air far too prematurely.

HAWKEYE: WITH LYNDA CARTER
I enjoyed Hawkeye especially because of the beautiful Lynda Carter. Her acting abilities get better with each film and television show that she makes. This is one of my favourites because it is a real departure and has action, tragedy and drama. There are 2 or 3 videos to this series and I recommend them. I also enjoyed 'Hawkeye:Siege' which is the next installment. I highly recommend it for action fans, for Lynda Carter fans and for fans of period shows like "Dr Quinn". Quite a treat! ... Read more

and as for the queen/princess?
Hey, I have a question - how come none of these videos feature the Draconians, and that Draconian princess/queen, who was so spoiled and bratty and wore little more than dental floss, and whose ultimate goal I suspect was not to perpetrate evil but just to find some way to get Buck's attention focused on her? I mean, wow, why don't any of the videos feature one of the epsiodes where she was a focus? And remember her bodyguards, Tiger-man and later Panther-man? I think that was it. As I recall, one of them messed up or helped the good guys once and so was replaced by the other posthumously. My whole point is I couldn't figure out, even in my pre-teen youth, why Buck would even think about straight-arrow Wilma Deering when he had the princess fawning all over him at every chance! I mean, she was so bad it was GOOD, and Buck always seemed to handle her with maturity and wisdom(and not libido, amazingly. Now that's stamina!). What a spoiled brat, I personally just thought she was incredibly sexy, even before I knew what the term meant. Would anyone else agree? Hooray for the sexy Draconian queen! Wilma was always like the Mary-anne of the show, too girl-next-door for my tastes. The princess was definitely more of a Ginger than a Mary-anne. Buck should have wised-up when he had the chance. Such a tryst couldn't possibly have lasted, but it certainly would have made for an interesting couple of episodes.....
What do you think, is it possible that the studios did not want to release a video with her featured in it because of her racy wardrobe? Or is my memory simply dulled by time, so that I can only remember her evil thin smile and not how bad of an actress she may have been. Another thing, I thought the Draconian ships looked pretty cool, they were the design antithesis to Buck's white, clean spaceships. Wouldn't those in charge of reissuing these shows want to show off their special effects work like that? That goes double for Hawk and his ship, which were a significant part of the later series, but only appeared in 1 video so far,I think. AND WHEN DO I GET A DVD? I mean, we finally got Space 1999 in its entirety, and now the Hulk; I think there's room for Buck Rogers on the shelf and I know I would sure buy some of them. And what about Brisco County, Jr, from the 90's, with Bruce Campbell? Those were good, too!

what is the show about?
All of Buck Rogers shows are the best science fiction shows. I just want to be able to look on the internet and be able to read what each show is all about. then give say what ever you want about the show. We miss you Buck!
If you are looking for just a couple of Buck Rogers videos for your collection, this is certainly one to consider. It was one of the best. I also highly recommend the Buck Rogers In The 25th Century pilot movie. Gil Gerard was absolutely awesome - and clever, witty, handsome, fun and charismatic as Buck Rogers. Buck Rogers was overlooked as a television show and Gil Gerard was overlooked as an actor in later years. The man was incredible. His co-stars were also admirable. And, for fans of the daytime drama, "One Life to Live," you will recognize the character of Buck Roger's Hawk, portrayed by Thom Christopher, as One Life to Live's Carlo Hesser. If you were a Buck Rogers fan, this is one of the videos to get. If you are a true Gil Gerard fan and loved Buck Rogers, get all of the videos while you can. Gil Gerard is missed; and so are shows like Buck Rogers. You can't try to take shows like this too seriously. They were meant to be fun and entertaining and Gil Gerard and cast give us exactly that - entertainment!

A Great ND Movie!

Nancy Drew Should Be on DVD!
Nancy Drew was one of my favorite TV shows in the 70's, based on the mystery books for young readers by Carolyn Keene it is about a teenager named Nancy Drew who has a knack for solving mysteries and crimes and stars Pamela Sue Martin (Dynasty) as Nancy. The Secret of the Whispering Walls is my favorite episode and is about Nancy's two elderly aunts who live in an old mansion where some strange events are happening and Nancy with the help of her friends Ned and George investigates. I would love to see this and all of the Nancy Drew episodes put out on DVD especially in a boxset!

Groovy Nancy
In 1977, Nancy Drew donned her double-knit pantsuit and set out with her friends George Fayne and Ned Nickerson to solve her very first mystery on television. Millions of girls sat spell-bound in front of their television sets, anxiously waiting to see if Nancy could solve the puzzling incidents in her hometown, River Heights USA.
The Nancy Drew Mysteries television show of the 1970s was saturated in cultural influences. Nancy danced to disco, drove a groovy blue sports car and even teamed up with the Hardy Boys (wearing their leisure suits) to bust crime the 70s way.
Her glamourous adventures included posing as a world-famous professional tennis player, solving mysteries aboard cruise ships and overthrowing counterfeit gangs.
What adventure! What romance! What intrigue!
In this episode, Nancy stays at an old southern mansion complete with hidden passages, cranky neighbors and voices in the walls.
"Secret of the Whispering Walls" is extrememly reminiscent of The Secret of Red Gate Farm, one of the original Nancy Drew Mystery Stories. You might even call it a combination of Red Gate Farm and The Hidden Staircase.
George is a little out of character; she's too much of a fraidy-cat when it comes to investigating.
Despite it's shortcomings, this episode is one of my favorites.

FOR HUGE DREW/HARDYS FANS, BUY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been obsessively collecting Hardy Boys books since Day 1 and I like N. Drew, too. This is a great one and any Hardys/Drew fan will love it! One would think this is corny, but it really is well done and not the least bit corny.

Magnificent!
When I bought two of them one day, and got them in the mail days after, this was the one that I watched first. I now own four of the Nancy Drew movies and this one is the best out of them!

On my October 31st list of videos to watch
Buck Rogers has always been about lasers and high tech up to this point, and then everything changed(for the better). Yeah the lasers and high tech are still there(that's mandantory Buck) but the mystical becomes a part of these later series(80-81 I am guessing). Much like Dr. Who at this time period, Buck Rogers, an otherwise lighthearted show of a wise cracking Space Cowboy, becomes a hybrid of funny and downright grave. This takes place on into the Hawk series(which is not availibe except for the Guardian) This Vampire sci-fi thriller is the best of Buck, I think. It shows you can make a scary set with modern settings as a darkened spaceship corridor. The soundtrack and camera angles(even in computer rooms) was downright creepy. Wilma's(Erin Grey) personality was quite a bit different from her usual matter-of-fact self.(nice outfit)
I grew up with this show and the hybrid sci-fi/fantasy time period of other serials. And that is why I think both are important in one story. You won't find that now(or if you do it's not as well plotted or believable). The comic relief was a relief from the spookiness and seriousness of this story.(and women dressed better heh!)

The Best (?) Vampire Flick Ever!!
Alright, maybe not. But like one of the other commentators, I was scared stiff the first time I watched it, curled up beside my dad on the couch. Until I purchased this tape last year, the only memory I had was of Wilma (Erin Gray) tilting her head back as the Vorvon (vampire) drained her essence. Throughout my childhood, teenage years, college and even now, when I think of a scary vampire, I imagine some guy with long fingernails sticking them against my neck.

So the sets are ridiculously fake. The vampire's evil laugh is actually rather laughable. And Buck's saving the day is somewhat overdone. But this has what it takes! Wilma's a sizzling vampiress, and steals the show. [But then, didn't her bare midriff always steal the show when we were growing up, much like Daisy Duke?]

It probably won't scare you today. But it's definitely a great episode to take you back in time. Enjoy!!

Space Vampire - Why Not?
I remember the day with startling clarity - January 3, 1980...the day I became a man.Okay, a little history for you sci-fi afficionados:Before there was Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, or Star Trek: Fill-in-the-Blank...there was Buck Rogers.'Buck Rogers', and it's sister show - the superior 'Battlestar Galactica' - were the only thing going for science fiction on television in 1979 and 1980. I was just a boy, a wee lad, still in my jammies, and I loved science fiction with a vengeance. Even at 11 years of age, I knew that 'Buck Rogers' was sub-par sci-fi...but it had one thing going for it that no other science fiction series of it's time had...It had Erin Gray.The three things that best defined 'Buck Rogers' as a series - and of my oncoming momentum into puberty - were:1) Erin Gray2) Spandex3) Erin GrayFrankly, the rest of the show - the Starfighters, the laser blasts, the re-used spaceship models from 'Galactica', Gary Coleman...you could have shoved them all into a nuclear reaction and STILL the only thing that would have mattered would have been Erin Gray.Yep, I was hooked.Which brings us to January 3, 1980 - the day 'Space Vampire' premiered.Okay, it was not that good - but Erin Gray gets turned into a Vorvon (i.e. Vampire) and goes all sultry...and my little life was changed forever.Trust me. Rent it, buy it, or tape it. You'll understand.

Entertaining by default
I found this one of the weaker episodes. This one still featured the goodies you come to expect from"Buck",Wilma Deering and her jump suit, Gil Gerard creakily completing martial arts moves,thatlittle robot guy and the contrasting of 25th century Earth with 20th Century Earth. But there was no atomosphere. Vampire stories demand a certain amount of gloom and creepiness, thats one thing that makes them fun and its also the one thing this episode lacks. At least the set lights could have been dimmed. Any Buck is good Buck, but this one disappointed me a little because I expected better.

Buck Roger's space vampire
Space vampire was one of the better "Buck" episodes, along with "vegas in space" ect. as alway's Erin Grey made the episode work of course. when the vamp was "speaking thru Her" it was chilling Of course back then I was 15-16 yr's old. The Buck Roger's episodes brought in many special effect's to broadcast t.v.. of course disco was the flavor of the day then also. alway's a sci-fi fan since 8-9 I enjoyed buck roger's along with my library of perhaps 2000 paper-back book's (sci-fi) I had read by that time Space Vampire is a very good Buck roger's episode to keep and enjoy again and again.... ... One of the Best
I have 4 Nancy Drew movies. I think this was like 3rd or 4th one I watched and It's one of my favs. It has a great plot. You'd never guess who the culprit was. I thought it was someone else. I was wrong. Great twist at the end!

One of the better Nancy Drew episodes
It's too bad there aren't more of these. You have to like the title, as the Nancy Drew book series has always been written by a succession of ghostwriters. Pamela Sue Martin is great as Nancy: she does a good job of being inquisitive and persistent without being irritating, and she handles annoying characters with finesse. When the mystery author she is accompanying on a cruise gets cryptic death threats, nothing can be proven so of course it's up to Nancy to solve the case. They do a nice job of making it spooky, like when Nancy and the author are walking the deck at night through fog, searching for the source of an eerie, echoing voice. At another point, the ship is threatened by a tidal wave. With Pamela having done "Poseidon Adventure," the director must have had to resist an impulse to have her look at the camera and say, "Not again." I also like how they keep you guessing who the culprit is from among their shipmates, unlike some other episodes where the audience knows what's going on before Nancy figures it out. It's fun to relive the days when, for a very short time, creepy-but-innocent entertainment featured not an older gal like Angela Lansbury, but a beautiful young woman.

The Love Boat was never this Dangerous
Ever Sunday night I would rush home to watch the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. Parker Stevenson and shaun Cassidy were the Hardys,Pamela Su Martin protrayed our favorite girl Detecive Nancy.This video "Nancy Drew and the Ghostwriter's Cruise" is the best in the series. Nancy and her friend George are traveling with world famous mystery writer John Addams and his niece Cathy aboard a cruise ship Nancy soon discover this trip is not going to be all fun in the sun.Te writer soon becomes the victim of several attempts on his life. Someone wants Mr. Addams to live at his first novel and rewrite the ending so there is no sequel.I alwayed enjoyed reading the Nancy Drew books and the television series was able to bring life to this exciting and intelligent detevice character. Pamela Sue Martin is great in the role and the supporting cast are also wondeful. Buy this tape and you will not regrat it.

Birthdays Should Never be this Exciting!
For those of you who are not acquainted with the Buck Rogers series, here's a short rundown. In 1987, NASA launched the last deep space probe, captained by William "Buck" Rogers (Gil Gerard). In a "freak mishap," the ship is blown off its trajectory into an orbit that freezes the life support systems, and returns him to Earth 500 years later. The series takes Buck, along with the gorgeous Col. Wilma Deering (Erin Gray) and friends on many interesting adventures throughout space. Younger sci-fi fans may be disappointed with the special effects and simple story lines. However, for those of us who grew up in the 80s, they can still be as exciting and fun as they were when we were kids.

In this episode, Buck's been feeling a little depressed as his 534th birthday approaches. Everything's perfect, nothing ever changes in the future, and he really misses his past life. To get him out of his funk, Wilma and Dr. Huer (Tim O'Connor) decide to throw Buck a surprise party. The surprise is almost on them, however, when the psycho Col. Traeger arrives and attempts to kill Dr. Huer out of a warped sense of revenge.

A Great Episode

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
I have most of the Nancy Drew videos and I think this one is my favorite! When the hosts of a benefit carnival are robbed of their jewels, Nancy sets out to try to get a job at the carnival to find out if any of the carnival workers are the thieves. As usual, she soon finds herself in danger. To complete your Nancy Drew video collection, this one is a must have!!!

Pretty Good Movie!
In this movie, Nancy, George, Carson, and Ned are a benifit in the form of a carnival when the hosts are roobed of their expensive jewels! This series needs to be on DVD
With similar genre shows like Barretta out on DVD, and with 70's chic back in style, it only makes sense. The Street of San Francisco deserves to be in the world again.

A solid beginning
After a rather exotic "movie of the week" debut, the Streets of San Francisco" settled down to relating plainer stories of police drama, as in the case of Mike Stone's former partner, who still patrols a beat, suddenly getting shot. It's an interesting reversal of roles; Stone, the experienced cop, goes impulsive with concern and a desire for revenge. It's up to his young partner, who is still learning the ropes, to watch out for him. We see a cop and an acting team evolving in this episode; Michael Douglas, still the new kid on the block, never tries to outdo his older, more experienced acting partner. By underplaying he lets Malden reveal what won him a supporting actor Oscar, and in turn reveals himself as a team player. Douglas went on in this series to play more vivid scenes, and I enjoy see him evolve as an actor. But part of me always enjoys him supporting Malden and Malden in turn supporting him--particularly in a difficult scene in the end. Mike Stone is reopening communication by casually offering to spring for lunch, and Steve Keller says none is needed in his quiet reply "I got my own bread."

get this series on DVD!
i watch THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO everyday on WGTW channel 48. what i wish for more than anything else is for this TV series to come out on DVD. i see BARETTA out on DVD, SWAT is in the process of DVD release as well as CHARLIE'S ANGELS. THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO is among the cop shows that's a must for fans of the show just like me that is a must for DVD.

Pure Entertainment.
I was seven when I first saw this episode. For several weeks afterwards, my mother had to remove pieces of broken glass that I had superglued to the walls: watch the episode and you'll understand. Twenty years later I picked up a copy of the episode and saw it again. I was amazed: indeed the lines are corny; the special effects are dated; the flavors are very disco-70s; the roundhouse kicks are two feet off the ground; and the plot - well, the plot is thinner than plastic wrap. But! This is Buck at his best. This is the Buck Rogers that helped a little boy dream and made a grown man laugh.

It was tired when it was on television.
Do not be deceived: this is not the cult film "Vegas in Space," which offers one of the single most bizzare premises in science-fiction filmdom. Rather, it is indeed Buck Rogers as told by television land... and there is a reason the series was canceled, you know.

Do you ever want to see something more gaudy than Vegas?
If your answer is yes, you want to see this episode of the great series. Who knew that hero's could play cards. Watch Buck take on this Las Vegas type place, and walk away with a bundle of cash.

Jamie's Kinda Cute in Orange!
For those of you who are not acquainted with the Buck Rogers series, here's a short rundown. In 1987, NASA launched the last deep space probe, captained by William "Buck" Rogers (Gil Gerard). In a "freak mishap," the ship is blown off its trajectory into an orbit that freezes the life support systems, and returns him to Earth 500 years later. The series takes Buck, along with the gorgeous Col. Wilma Deering (Erin Gray) and friends on many interesting adventures throughout space. Younger sci-fi fans may be disappointed with the special effects and simple story lines. However, for those of us who grew up in the 80s, they can still be as exciting and fun as they were when we were kids.

In this episode, Buck goes undercover as a convict in order to find wrongly convicted prisoner Jen (Jamie Lee Curtis). They need to get ahold of her to get information that will help them stop her boyfriend from breaking the law. Buck needs to break out of prison with Jen, meet up with Wilma, and stop the boyfriend, while being chased by a prison guard android who just keeps on coming.

Co-starring Jamie Lee Curtis!!!!
This is a high point in the Canon! It co-stars a very young Jamie Lee Curtis as a convict who can put the finger on the nefarious space pirate, Pantera! Here is what I learned from this episode;
1. In the future prison guards will wear leather dresses.
2. Androids always take out their frustration on hapless scenery.
3. "Tied to a chair" is a great look for Erin Gray.
4. Squids roam the deserts of the future.
5. Finally, while styles of clothing and cars may change, hairstyles will always remain the same, relevant to the time of the episode's filming.
In closing, this one has plenty of good Buck. He has to rescue Wilma, fight an indestructible android,capture a space pirate and outwit a diabolical Space Diplomat. And don't forget the Sand Squid.
