4-0 out of 5 stars Family movie except for a scene of nudity.
Recommended. Send the kids to get the microwave popcorn during the nude sister scene.

4-0 out of 5 stars A worthwhile movie
In spite of all the complaints by previous reviewers I thought there was a very profound message behind this movie. Okay, so this movie was obviously filmed in the cheesy 70s but the theme behind it is very important. Sacrificial love for family members and the family of the human race. I personally thought it was a beautiful story if you choose to see through the things that don't matter. Excellent movie for adults and kids.

5-0 out of 5 stars such a good movie
This movie was a story of courage sacrifice and love.

It was pg for some things but the nudity was not much too it. and most of it was hidden behind a bush.

It was a good story I think. I think its something everybody should see. Most movies nowadays show nothing but blatant sex and violence. they showed more at the superbowl.

I recommend this move highly!

4-0 out of 5 stars Against a Crooked Sky
I saw this movie when I was a child and I still remember it! Sure, it's dated, but it certainly had a message about the strength of will that had an impact. It would be a great movei for a family with young kids!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love of Family
This video held my interest right to the end. It's based on the principal, there is no greater love than to give your life for a friend. The scenery is beautiful and the acting is good. The story is based on a pioneer family and the struggles they have with the Indians. This is an excellent family video. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Shoulds be called the lost episodes- and the best.
Even though I have been a Lone Ranger fan since the 50's, I was surprised that I had never seen the first three television episodes from 1949. I don't recall ever seeing any of these in syndication. I was also surprised at how good they were- actually better than many of the later episodes.

These three shows explain everything that I was curious about as a kid: the origin of the Lone Ranger, Where Tonto came from, how he found Silver, the meaning of the silver bullets, the vow to never shoot to kill.... It is all there, everything I wondered about as a boy.

I supposed some people will consider the dialog and the acting to be old fashion. I ,however, liked the fact that the actors took the ideals of the show seriously (justice, law, order, decency, fairness and good) There is no tongue-in-check "spoofing" or laughing at these ideals. I rate these three episodes right up there with any western that I have ever seen- and I've seen alot.

5-0 out of 5 stars Legend of the Lone Ranger
A great movie about how the Lone Ranger became the Lone Ranger.. I have purchased Legend of the Lone Ranger, Enter the Lone Ranger and The Lone ranger Triumph. These three videos are one and the same just in diffenent format. By purchasing the Legend of the Lone Ranger you will have all three of these videos.

5-0 out of 5 stars Premiere Episode, and Origin!
This video features the first three episodes of the classic TV series with Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. It chronicles the origin of the Lone Ranger, how he met Tonto and became the Lone Ranger, where his silver bullets come from, and his quest to bring the Cavendish Gang (who murdered his brother, and several other Texas Rangers) to justice.

This is definitely *THE* Lone Ranger video to have. It features:

"Enter the Lone Ranger" - The Texas Rangers were the only law and order in the Old West until they were double-crossed, ambushed and slaughtered by the notorious Cavendish Gang. Now, only one ranger survives and he dedicates his life to their memory. With the help of his long lost friend Tonto, the Lone Ranger vows to bring back law and order to the frontier.

"The Ranger Fights On" - After burying his true identity by the graves of his brother and other Texas Ranger companions, the Lone Ranger disguises himself with a black mask and goes after the Cavendish Gang on the back of a wild silver stallion.

"The Cavendish Gang" - Butch Cavendish and his band of outlaws escape again and it is up to the Lone Ranger and Tonto to put and end to The Cavendish Gang.

3-0 out of 5 stars First Episode of Lone Ranger Series
This is it! If you are a Lone Ranger fan, this is a must have. Somewhat stiff and hokey action and script, but that is the kitsch of the series. Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels in b & w not as picturesque as the color series, but all in all very interesting three story arc. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Hi Yo Silver, Away!!!!!
This Lone Ranger tape contains three episodes: "The Tenderfeet," in which the Lone Ranger and Tonto thwart the plot of Hardrock Jones and Rusty Bates to steal the silver claim of Dick and Bob Larrabee, two brothers from the East; "High Heels," in which the Lone Ranger and Tonto uncover Monk's plot to buy up various ranches in an effort to control some of the railroad (disappearing ink plays a vital role in this episode); and "The Renegades," in which Tonto gets himself mistaken for a renegade Indian while trying to help his friend Chief Swift Eagle. This is a very enjoyable collection of episodes, something everyone who loves the Lone Ranger should get! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Trials and tribulation of the 4077th in Season 3 of M*A*S*H
Volume 2 represents the middle third of Season 3 of "M*A*S*H," which was the low point mainly because the previous tape had "O.R." and the next tape has "Abyssinia, Henry." The episodes continue to focus on military hijinks, buttressed by real anecdotes and stories the producers picked up visiting medical units in Korea:

(57) "Alcoholics Unanymous" (Writers: Everett Greenbaum & Jim Fritzell; Aired: November 12, 1974) has Henry away and Frank (Larry Linville) declaring prohibition at the 4077th. Grade C+: I never really find all the drinking to be all that funny, although I certainly understand the motivation behind it. But the resolution on this one is just too cute.

(58) "There Is Nothing Like a Nurse" (Writer: Larry Gelbart; Aired: November 19, 1974) has the nurses being evacuated from the camp when the enemy mounts as invasion, which forces the guys to deal with each other. Grade A-: Singer Loudon Wainwright III justified having a recurring supporting role during Season 3 with the song he sings in this episode.

(59) "Adam's Ribs" (Writer: Laurence Marks; Aired: November 26, 1974) has Hawkeye (Alan Alda) sick and tired of army chow. So he decides that what they need to do is order forty pounds of ribs from Adam's Ribs, the celebrated Chicago barbecue joint. Grade B+: This is one of the better scheme episodes of the series with bonus points for the cole slaw joke.

(60) "A Full, Rich Day" (Writer: John D. Hess; Aired: December 3, 1974) is another one of Hawkeye's letters home detailing another fun day at the 4077th. Grade B: A solid but not spectacular episode.

(61) "Mad Dogs and Servicemen" (Writers: Linda Bloodworth & Mary Kay Place; Aired: December 10, 1974) has Radar dealing with the former when he is bit by a dog that might be raid, and the doctors concerned with the later, a solider suffering from psychosomatic paralysis. Grade B-: This is a double-plot line episode where the two halves do not fit together all that well. Not that they should, but it is nice when they do.

(62) "Private Charles Lamb" (Writers; Larry Gelbart & Sid Dorfman; Aired: December 31, 1974) has a grateful Greek regiment preparing a traditional Easter feast for the 4077th and Radar horrified that they are actually going to slaughter that cute little lamb. Grade B-: Radar will not stand up for himself, but becomes a lion to rescue a lamb.

(63) "Bombed" (Writers: Everett Greenbaum & Jim Fritzell; Aired: January 7, 1975) has the O.R. keeping busy while the camp is being pounded by friendly fire, during which Trapper and Hot Lips get, well, trapped together in the storage room. Grade B+: This episode is sort of a lesser version of the classic "O.R."

(64) "Bulletin Board" (Writers: Larry Gelbart & Simon Munter; Aired: January 14, 1975) is another collection of vignettes this time centered around camp activities posted on the camp bulletin board, including a picnic and a Shirley Temple movie. Grade B: Nice touch with Trapper writing a letter home to his daughter. These episodes show that "M*A*S*H" was comfortable just playing off of its characters without necessarily having standard plot lines.

As I indicated above, there are no classic episodes among the eight collected here (I am sure my affection for "There Is Nothing Like a Nurse" is atypical), but it is still a solid collection. The rating has to do with judging these eight episodes by the high water mark on "M*A*S*H," so while these were shows as good as any other situation comedy they do not represent the best of "M*A*S*H." ... 4-0 out of 5 stars It's Coming Out on DVD!
This is just an update to my old review from January 17, 2004 in which I said I wanted The Munsters to get on DVD in complete season boxsets, well there is good news for Munster fans because The complete first season is coming out on DVD on August 24, 2004 and from what I have read there are 38 episodes and the pilot which never aired on TV. I'm looking forward to August 24th and can't wait til the Munsters DVD set is finally released!

4-0 out of 5 stars The Munsters Should Have Complete Season DVD Boxsets!
I grew up in the 70's and part of the 80's and reruns of The Munsters were very popular but unfortunately I didn't watch the show back then and I didn't discover how good this show is until Nick At Nite and TV Land started showing the reruns, one night I turned on the TV and this came on and I discovered that I really missed out on a lot of fun by not watching this show sooner and I have been a fan ever since. It is a funny show and I like that pilots and episodes were put on video tape but I would like it much better to have this classic on DVD in complete season boxsets. The show only has about 79 episodes so it shouldn't be that hard to put them out on DVD! Fred Gwynne and Yvonne DeCarlo are great as Herman and Lily Munster and Al Lewis is great as Grandpa and the rest of the cast is great too. FYI: There were two different actresses who played Marilyn. Beverley Owen played her for the first 13 episodes and then starting in episode #14 Pat Priest took over the roll. Beverly Owen was good as Marilyn but I think I prefer Pat Priest. The video tape is fine but I just think this show would be better on DVD.

5-0 out of 5 stars whos phebe?and whos happy derman?....
this is a must have for the casual viewer to outragous fan or those who hold productions close to their heart begginning with the only 4 surviving minutes of the munster "color" piolet then the 17 minute version of that piolet then a spin-off of that piolet which sold the show. there are drastic cast changes in the first two with joann marshall as "pheobe" and eddie being played by happy derman . and the short shows beverly owen starred in as cousin marilyn.the music is also different .

but still a top rate movie for all those intrested with hollywood
the entire cast includes

herman....fred gyne
joann marshal ......pheobe
yvonne de carlo....lily
happy derman ......eddie
butch patrick .....eddie
al lewis ......grandpa
enjoy this great tape ... Read more
