5-0 out of 5 stars Foster is a Knock Out!
Kimberly Foster is absolutely gorgeous!

5-0 out of 5 stars Sex & Cars Mixed.
My favorite scenes where Jonni The Auto sales Lady
Shows off her Stocking & Garter tops. ( One scene where she staghtens her Garter belt in a car & the second scene where
she shows off her Black Stocking & garter tops while dancing at
a Tavern.)

5-0 out of 5 stars A truly campy classic
This is a campy, hilarious, light-hearted and completely quotable movie. Having watched it countless times (I've had to replace it twice) it never fails to entertain. The story line is simple, but it certainly has all the makings of a classic comedy/romance - not to mention some pretty dynamic cars. The characters are believeable, and the dialogue isn't too contrived. You really get involved in what's happening throughout the movie. Also, the dream sequence following the Tijuana Torpedo is HILARIOUS.

5-0 out of 5 stars Movie Review- "It Takes Two"
I have seen the movie 4 times and i myself thought the movie carried a really neat plot. i have been trying to find out what type of Lamborgini they used in the movie, cause i am interested in buying one with the similar body style and in an apple red color. any information you could help supply with me as far as what type of Lamborgini they used in the movie will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Paul

4-0 out of 5 stars Great flick if you love Lamborghinis (even fake ones)
So-so storyline. Real star of the movie is the Prova Countach replica which is called a "Trovare" in the film. Sexy babes and hot wheels make for a good combination. Some good comedic scenes too, but the dream about being digested along with the poison burrito was a little weird. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Where's the DVD version????
I loved this movie when I stumbled upon it at the video store after it was first released. My husband and I have enjoyed watching this film over and over again; I'd love to see it on DVD!

It's definitely more appropriate for people who like plays (think in terms of Tennessee Williams). I love all the Southern nuances, especially since they weren't hokey. Scorchers itself is an old Southern term for a street-walker and there were so many phrases that made me laugh until my sides ached. They reminded me so much of growing up with Southern parents.

I saw this movie not long after my own mother had passed away, so the scenes with Jumper and Splendid were especially poignant for me. I loved the relationship between Bear and Howler..."it is the same train!"

If you get the chance, see this film. It's heartwarming and funny and should be out on DVD!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of top five movies I've ever seen
I found this movie while scanning one of the movie channels late one night. Luckily, I caught it from the beginning. It moved me in so many ways from laughter to tears. The relationship between 'Jumper and Splendid' was a classic father daughter relationship. His sensitivity to her concerns and fears after he finally heard what she had been saying from the beginning of the movie was a tear-jerker. The evolution of Talbot and the education of Bear were equally as heartwarming. This movie was somehow overlooked by the general public, I am glad that I found it. I have shared it with my daughter. I found the movie and I am currently looking for the soundtrack.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a Great Movie
My wife and I stumbled onto this movie two years ago and we have been trying to buy it ever since. It is not for children but it touches many aspects of adult life. It will make you life, cry and enjoy many different aspects of the human condition.
If you get the chance, buy it sight unseen and you will not be disappointed. The story line(s) are good, the characters are well developed and the acting wonderful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful - Bellyaching Laughs
This is a really good movie- I saw it 10 years ago and forgot how good it is. Quick dialogue, funny, funny situations. If you love words and fabulous dialogue you will love this movie. Its a little risque but so human you will have to forgive the language. Not for children but perfect for open minded adults. You will be glad you spent your time watching this film.

5-0 out of 5 stars Scorched into my heart
This is a treasure. Classified as a drama, it will make you laugh, cry, identify, muse, imagine and remember it forever. The music will haunt you. The storytelling, the stories within the story, the visual symbolism, the actors, the cinematography, the site, the extras...everything makes you feel as if you were there. If you are feeling blue, this movie will make you feel better. If you are celebrating, watching this movie will top off your evening. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Really funny, Tim Curry and Annie Potts are fantastic
I love this movie!!! Although it is not available to buy got to you local video store and rent this. Tim Curry as Rev. Ray Porter is wonderful. The "I can feel the Devil behind me" scene with Curry is not to missed. Also Annie Potts is very funny in this. I highly recommend this movie!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Unforgettable...
I just can't say just how very much I like this movie. Recently purchased on auction I keep watching this one over and over again. I don't want to give away all the details but the Reverend Ray Porter (Tim Curry) and his wife Darla (Annie Potts) operate a TV ministry getting rich off of their viewers. Bill Paxton enters the scene to recover his girlfriend's (Linda Kozlowski) $50,000. The spectacular ending is just not to be believed!

1-0 out of 5 stars Unconsionable
The only reason I purchased this video was because I'm a fan of Annie Potts. But even her talent is not enough to redeem "Pass the Amo".

This movie is supposedly a "comedy" that parodies television evangelism. Instead, it is an ultra-violent mess of a movie where the "heroes" brandish guns and threaten to kill innocent people if the crooked ministry does not return $50,000 of money which was wrongly donated to the church.

The "heroes" succeed in retrieving their money as well as exposing the corrupt ministry. But is the end supposed to justify the means? I believe that this movie sends a horrible message that violence pays off. Our real world is threatened daily by Al Qaida and other terrorists groups. Gun-related murders and other crimes committed with guns are still rampant in our society. Yet this movie seems to glorify violence rather than condemn it.

I am NOT an anti-NRA person. Most gunowners are responsible, law-abiding people. But the message that "Pass the Amo" so disturbingly conveys is that violence does have its own rewards. That message is not only in poor taste, it's downright unconsionable. Audiences should pass on "Pass the Amo".

4-0 out of 5 stars Forget the ammo, pass the laughs.
An early Bill Paxton move that is on my list of movies I never saw enough of. Tim Curry's rendition of the televangelist who's name escapes me is classic (it is my favorite Curry role).
Favorite lines from this one:

one cop: "Let's rush 'em, all they've got are pistols."
another cop: "You ever been shot with a pistol?"

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding
Director David Beaird clearly knows how to draw the most out of his actors, because this is just one of those movies that could have been stupid under the helm of someone who wasn't a genius at making the best out of what he had to work with. It works really well. I loved it and will watch it a couple more times. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A good replacement for all those worn VHS copies.
First off, kudos to Rhino for salvaging this cult film from the 1980s. While you're at it ... howzabout doing the same for Valley Girl, Real Genius or April Fools Day! :)

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with this release

The animated bios are for Debby, Sam Jones, E.G Marshal, Howard Hessman and Penn & Teller. They consist of headshots from the movie accompanied by things like Date-of-Birth and filmographies.

The slide show is much like the animated bios, but consist only of about 10 photos or so.

While I am glad to have a "clean" copy to watch now, I do have two small complaints.

1). Sadly, the DVD is full-frame as opposed to letterbox.

2). The transfer, while somewhat clean, does possess some signs of age. I'm sure Rhino did the best they could with whatever print they had. It just might've been my TV, but it did seem to be somewhat darker than my VHS version

I highly recommend this to any Deb-heads out there or fans of 80s cult films.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Classic, Funny 80's Romantic Comedy
My Chauffeur is a classic 80's romantic comedy. Deborah Foreman as Casey Meadows is quirky, cute and lovable. Sam Jones as "Battle" is the ultimate rich brute, until Casey's cuteness and lovability break him down. This is a cute movie that people still talk about today. Worth checking out.

4-0 out of 5 stars Oh, to be 25 and seeing this for the first time
This movie was one of the nice surprises I had when I first started renting movies in the late 80's. I just recently watched my bootleg copy I made from a neighborhood video store copy(pre-Blockbuster...they were ALL little neighborhood stores) and had an immediate lovely flashback to those days. I also noted that the music seems to be Michael Nyman, or Nyman-ish, which, in his similarity to Philip Glass, made the movie all that much more charming. I can't speak for the DVD but the VHS version, although weak in places, is still charming in the low-key, New Wave way that now seems so naive. Wasn't it great to NOT have celphones and PCs and the internet? Not to mention that New Wave was still NEW. *sigh* Goes well with the much-more-cool "Something Wild". Or even a nice match with "Repo Man".

5-0 out of 5 stars My, my it's hot, but at least it's not STICKY!
I discovered this movie in the 80's while working at a TeleVid, a VHS and Beta rental store (REMEMBER Beta!!). This movie is hysterical and SO quotable. Deborah Foreman reminds me of an adorable grownup Shirley Temple. Like another reviewer, I thought The Wigs were excellent and have sought out their music a few times over the years. This movie should be viewed as a time capsule from the 80's, rather than an example of exemplary filmmaking. ENJOY it's humor and cheesiness. Who'd ever think we'd be waxing nostalgic about those years. Sigh...

1-0 out of 5 stars One of the worst ever
Who's idea was it to combine the talents of the world's two worst actors, Sam Jones and Deborah Foreman? Foreman breaks off into silly accents and facial expressions at the drop of a dime, and Sam Jones was his usual non-emotive self. Terrible storyline, and somehow suckered Penn and Teller to take part. Not even worth a star. Absolutely no continuity whatsoever. Should get a minus rating. ... Read more
