Hard to look away
The title says the tale. It is a forgone conclusion that ice and snow will fall, but the plots and subplots are intriguing. Albeit the special effects aged, but the cast is superb, I really enjoyed this film.

Typical Roger Corman fare.
With Roger Corman's name attached to a movie, you know what you are likely to get. "Avalanche" features half-hearted performances, poor lighting and sound, minimal plot, ... "special effects" and some of the choppiest editing known to mankind. In fact, the only thing this dud is good for is a couple of unintentionally hysterical moments. The plot involves a newly built resort in Durango, Colorado. The owner is warned that he is in danger of triggering an avalanche because he is cutting down a lot of trees on a hillside. Characters are grossly underdeveloped and the film really goes nowhere. I advise you to stay clear of this one unless you are a Roger Corman fan. ... Read more

One actor in this film who fails to get mention is Scott Bakula. Both he and Ritter do a wonderful job bouncing off each other and their scenes are enjoyable to watch.

THE MAN IN THE SANTA CLAUS SUIT
IT IS JUST A NICE FILM WITH A REAL CHRISTMAS FEELING. LOOKS VERY DATED BUT IT JUST MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD WELL WORTH WATCHING

We love it, but not because it is a classic.
This is a classic "B" Christmas movie. It has 3 happy endings, Radar from MASH, Fred, and the now deceased Bert Convey taking endless phone calls on a full sized telephone in his brief case. We watch it every year, noting how many times Radar says the name Einstein, and counting phone calls. Don't expect a classic like "A Christmas Story", but if you can get into the "spirit", it is wonderful fun.

Do you remember?
It's a brilliant film, full of Christmas fun, for all ages. No one seemed to remember it, My sister & i knew it was out there. A Wonderful film.

Rip-roaring Good Time!
When I first saw this movie I thought what was Kate Jackson thinking?! When I re-watched it, I thought "They're just having fun so why don't you?" This movie really grew on me. The chemistry between Carradine and Jackson is pretty good. Jackson's accent is a hoot! Look out for some amazing stunts! Don't expect Shakespeare, just sit back, relax and have a rip-roarin' good time, I did!

I was there
I had a couple of scenes in this movie as background. It premiered at the drive in movie in the county where it was filmed! David Carradine is a fair actor but a snob in person! My favorite Civil War film
I found this gem about ten years ago. It is poetry on film. I am slightly biased because it was directed by a friend's father as his final project at UCLA film school. Nonetheless it went on to win an Oscar for best short film some time back in the fifties.

This is a quiet story about two Union soldiers and one Confederate on picket. The call a truce for a few hours so that they can go down by the small stream that separates them. This is no big shoot-em-up, just a look into the Civil War as it was. I've always felt that if Matthew Brady had had a film camera, this is the movie he would have made. ... Read more

Life of Ann Jillian and her breast cancer.
We saw her as a little girl in Babes In Toyland (1961), Gypsy (1962) and a Twilight Zone episode, "Mute" in 1963. As an adult, we saw her in the tv series It's a Living (1980/1985) and Jennifer Slept Here (1983). And many television movies, Mae West (1982), Girls Of The White Orchid, aka Death Ride To Osaka(1983) and Little White Lies (1989).
Now see Ann Jillian in a television movie about her life. How she became an actress, her life with Andy, and just as her career has reached a peak, she is struck with the horrible news that she has breast cancer. She must have a mastectomy. But she found success and happiness again.
