5-0 out of 5 stars It SHOULD Be On DVD!!t Has Phoebe Cate's!
This movie has a young and nubile Phoebe Cates in it... Nuff said! Automatic 5 Stars!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!
Wonderful combination of every 80's teen movie cliche' that you can jam into one film. The beauty of Phoebe Cates and especially Betsy Russell were stamped into my brain from the moment I first saw this flick as a hormonally excitable lad of fourteen. I suggest you get in the time machine and enjoy an evening of leg warmers, pre-breast augmentation actresses, and fun. They don't make em' like this anymore.
Betsy Russell...where are you?

3-0 out of 5 stars Silly film, but still worth a look
This is a silly story really. Outrageous, improbable events. But still enjoyable. I last saw this film over 10 years ago and I can still recall it as if it were yesterday. Shockingly, Phoebe Cates is great in this! Silly storyline and situations, but entertaining.

5-0 out of 5 stars Betsy Russell - Unbelievable
If you're looking for gratuitous T&A, this is one of the best of all time. Betsy Russell in this movie might quite possibly be the most stunning performance by any actress ever. Her bareback horseriding scene, the seduction scene, and the stained clothes so I better take them off and let them soak scene are all nothing short of awe inspiring. Add that to a bunch or other bombshell schoolgirls walking around naked (the shower scene is just... wow), plus the fact you've got Phoebe Cates staring and I don't know what more you could ask for in this type of movie. Plotwise it's also pretty amusing with many laugh out load moments (although it's hard to stay focused on that with what you're looking at).

2-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful leads can't save this train wreck
I really wanted to find something good to say about this movie because my favorite girl is in it. So here it is: the only bright spots in this miserable film are Betsy Russel and Phoebe Cates. Betsy is a beautiful woman with a most impressive rack. Her horseback scene is nothing short of awe-inspiring. And Phoebe is, as always, angelic. She may not have Betsy's impressive dimensions, but the elegance of her form is without rival. And who can resist her smile? Unfortunately, she remains entirely too clothed--we only see a few seconds of her backside late in the film. I found much of this movie painful to watch. The males are an embarrassment, and the female authority figures don't fare much better. I primarily blame the director for confusing vulgarity with humor, and for failing to rein in the men's performances. Without their hammy and [dumb] antics, this could have been a standard teen sex farce instead of the piece of [junk] that it is. As actors, Phoebe Cates and Ray Walston are too good to be in this train wreck. One can only wonder what they were thinking. ... Read more

For a few years in the mid-1970s, thanks mostly to his collaboration with Mel Brooks, Gene Wilder was the hottest name in comedy. His films with Richard Pryor made him such a star that he was given the chance to write and direct--a big mistake. The nadir was this slow-moving, self-conscious Americanization of the French bedroom comedy Pardon Mon Affaire. Wilder plays an American executive who glimpses a gorgeous woman and turns his life and his marriage upside down in his misguided pursuit of an unattainable ideal. Heavy-handed sex farce doesn't get much help from Wilder, who does himself no favors as a director; LeBrock is a worthy object of obsession, but she deserves a better movie. --Marshall Fine ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Still Entertaining
I have seen "The Woman In Red" back in the 80's, and I just bought the DVD recently when it came out. Watching it again did not seem as joyful as it did 15 years ago. Anyway, it was worth watching.

5-0 out of 5 stars Special Treat
There is a cool little thing that happens in this movie and you won't want to miss it. They show Kelly LeBrock's bush.

4-0 out of 5 stars Magical, Musical Mayhem......
LeBrock & Wilder, the most unlikely of couples are thrown together through a tram-re-launch advertising campaign, run by Wilder. Wilder with his spark of romance long extinguished through his 'very ordinary' marriage to Judith Ivey and his fashion sense lodged 10 years in the past embarks on a comedy of errors as he attempts to woo the sparkling LeBrock. The supporting cast are superb as a constant supply of fuel for Wilders amazing comedic skills. His observation of the male ego when it comes into contact with a beautiful woman is incisive and uncomfortably familiar. With an accompanying soundtrack by the legendary Stevie Wonder, this movie stands out as one of the unsung heroes of the eighties, the irony being that 'I just called to say I love you' was one of the most sung hits of the decade. A valued addition to any Video collection, which should be visited on regular basis.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bright, breeezy, BEAUTIFUL!
An excellent comedy which makes the most out of Gene Wilder's considerable comic talent. THE WOMAN IN RED is a charming, simple romp following the adventures of shy Teddy who is infatuated with a beautiful model (Le Brock - so who can blame him! )Wilder is just so funny from when he shows himself as the world's worst horserider (who used to teach it to earn pocket money, of course!), to throwing a mock tantrum in his bath or verbalising his pseudonym (Irving...Julius Irving) to a hotel keeper. The picture remains a treasure with fine visual gags and Stevie Wonder's fabulous theme song "I Just Called To Say I Love You." So, if you need an added sparkle in your day see it...or see it again! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars only got it for Adam Ant...
The movie is your typical cheesy horror movie. I was pretty disapointed because Adam Ant's part is very small (you don't see him until the very end- but his charactor is mentioned thru the movie)but he is definately the best part. As usual he steals the spotlight away from everyone else in the scene with him. It also has Richard Blade who was a famous DJ in LA for KROQ. He's pretty funny in the movie. Would I watch it at all if Adam Ant wasn't in it? Nope. But if you collect movies with him in it- I'd recommend it. He looks very handsome in it and he's very charming. He is a GREAT bad guy. ...
