Marlon Wayans plays a struggling college student working several jobs to make ends meet and support his mother and family at the same time he's trying to win an entry-level job at a prestigious Wall Street firm. To make a little extra money, he agrees to be a medical test subject and takes a drug that amplifies all of his senses. The comedy supposedly emanates from his drastic reactions to outrageous stimuli and, to be sure, Wayans is a rubber-faced comic. But the writing is never on a par with his flexibility; even the presence of David Spade as Wayans's nemesis--a smug frat boy who looks down his pointy little nose at Wayans--the movie is never more than sporadically funny. --Marshall Fine ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Not as funny as I thought it would be, but funny
When I first saw the previews to "Senseless" a couple of years ago, I thought it was gonna be hilarious and I knew I had to see it. I finally saw it about 2 weeks ago and it is funny, but not hilarious. Marlon Wayans tries out an experiment that some scientists have made, not really knowing what it could do to him. One day he takes an overdose and things really get out of the ordinary. He starts to see double and gets numb all over, (in other words, senseless). That's when the movie gets good and it stays that way almost through the rest of the movie.

If you like good comedy movies, I recommend seeing "Senseless." My only complaints were that the movie wasn't as funny as I first thought it would be and it's a little slow getting to the funny parts. Other than that, it's worth seeing.

5-0 out of 5 stars If You Want To Laugh..
This movie has nothing but comedy written all over it. Fast moving plot with the right recipe of characters. Hilarious to the bone and excellent set up. If you are looking for a great laugh and enjoy the humor only David Spade and Marlon Wayans can bring, pick this one up. An excellent addition to any DVD collection. Fun for all to watch!

3-0 out of 5 stars 1st part: great, really funny. 2nd part: so-so.
Well, well, well, in the beginning it was cool comedy. No, not just cool but REALLY COOL comedy about black guy who took part in some experiment which upgraded his senses. Kind of super-power. A lot of funny (REALLY FUNNY) situations, dumb, but great jokes etc. etc. Cool movie. I hadn't laughed in such a way for a long time.

But then... Oops! The movie became less funny, some kind of soap appeared there, the authors seemed to remember about correctness and that's why the ending wasn't as cool and funny as beginning.

I'm so sorry. But only 3 stars.

1-0 out of 5 stars boring comedy
This movie isnt very good or funny and it is so predictable I am not a big fan of comedy movies but I always watch them. This movie was just too chezzy.Marlon Wayans just isnt funny he's too silly.dont buy this movie!

4-0 out of 5 stars Funny Funky Flick
Marlon Wayans gets forced into the role of "the stupid slapstick guy" thankfully he doesn't play that part in this very underatted classic. This movie had me laughing and feeling great! With a hillarious performance by Matthew Lillard and a great evil characted portrayal from David Spade you have to check this one out... Cheap and above all fun! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Tales to terrify ... or should they have remained in print?
'Quicksilver Highway' is the collaboration of two of the world's most talented literary horror writers, Stephen King and Clive Barker. It is a rather short anthology of two terrifyingly twisted tales, with an inset story featuring Christopher Llyod (Back to the Future 1, 2 & 3). But do they terrify the average filmgoer?

A wandering storyteller, Aaron Quicksilver (Lloyd), narrates the tales in two strikingly different locations: Stephen King's 'Chattery Teeth' along a deserted stretch of desert highway and Clive Barker's 'The Body Politic' within the carnivalesque setting of a funfair.

The more interesting of the two tales is 'Chattery Teeth', which tells of a psychopathic hitchhiker who falls prey to a relentless and dangerously-sharp set of chattering teeth owned by the travelling salesman driving the car. 'Chattery Teeth' is taken from a short story written by King and first published in 'Cemetery Dance' magazine in the nineties. Similar to the stories found in 'Creepshow' and 'Creepshow 2', it is a bizzare and disturbing story with a twist in the tail, very similar to the 'Twilight Zone' and the 'Ray Bradbury Theater'.

The lesser of the two is Barker's 'The Body Politic'. Here, a hand comes alive, goes completely out of control, and eventually attacks its owner. The story is taken from Clive Barker's 'Books of Blood: Vol 4' and is actually quite an entertaining and intelligent story ... in print. However, attempting to re-create this story on film just doesn't work. The effects are nothing short of laughable, which inevitably ruins a good tale.

'Quicksilver Highway' is directed by Mick Garris, who has collaborated with Stephen King on more than one occasion (see 'Sleepwalkers', 'The Stand', 'The Shining' (TV), and the forthcoming 'Riding the Bullet' and 'Desperation'. He is also the man behind some of the 'Twilight Zone' episodes and 'Freddy's Nightmares', the latter explaining his less than efficient effort with 'Quicksilver Highway'.

Nevertheless, the cast is well chosen - Matt Frewer (The Stand), John Landis (Director of 'An American Werewolf in London'), Bill Nunn (Kiss the Girls), and Clive Barker - and although the movie does have its tedious and ridiculous moments (check out Lloyd's fetishistic leather garb), it is watchable. Fans of 'Tales from the Crypt' and 'Tales from the Darkside' will certainly want to give this film a look-see.

Rating: A good weekday watch after the witching hour ... but time spent reading the short stories would be considerably more prudent.

5-0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars for creativity
Steven King and Clive Barker was very creative on this one. Well... think about it, possessed chattering teeth? I think the people who thought of that hand story are geniuses, plus it was a very good idea that the guy with one hand sacrificed his life to stop the revolution at an end. BRAVO!! BRAVO!! BRAVICIMO!!

2-0 out of 5 stars 2 and a half stars actually
Christopher Lloyd plays a creepy guy who travels around America collecting creepy stories. Sounds good so far, right? A honeymooning couple is stranded on the road. The groom leaves his wife alone and Lloyd comes along and welcomes her into his motorhome to wait for him to return. He begins to tell her one of the stories he has collected. It's about a set of wind-up chattering teeth that seem to be posessed. He follows that story with one about a surgeon who's hands rebel on him, and start a revolution. This movie had a lot of potential. It's entertaining to a point, that is, if you've never seen it before. The wraparound story gets you in the mood, the chattering teeth story is pretty good too, though it leaves too much unanswered. The second story, though I hate to come down on it since it stars Matt Frewer and I do enjoy his work, starts out interesting but quickly becomes ridiculous and annoying. Giving the hands voices was going too far I'd say. This second story carries on for far too long, and it would have been better to make that one shorter and add a third story, because for a horror anthology you really should have at least 3 stories, not including the wraparound story. Overall it's like I said, a movie that entertains, until the story about the hands seems like it won't end. It's worth seeing once. It could have been so much better though.

2-0 out of 5 stars this was by stephen king?
at first when i saw this movie at the video store it looked good. But when you actually start watching it gosh it is really stupid. It is also really confusing. The acting isnt all that great and the dialogue is really stupid.

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring!
On the cover, it reads "by Stephen King & Clive Barker". Man, I was dissapinted when I saw this one. The stories are amazingly weak, and it wasn't scary at all. If you're a huge horror-fan, and love Stephen King and Clive Barker, this movie is interesting to have seen. But if you're looking for a good scare, than this one is last of your choice! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars For the ones who are wondering...
This review is for the ones like me who were concerned about scary images. Not too many worries here, there's no gruesome cadavers or blood spurts, they only show a close-up of a teen who had gotten shot, but all you see is some blood on one girl's head. There is a scene with a dead body, but it's not presented in a scary "Hollywood" type of way, it's very peaceful, and the dialogue between the two main characters is beautiful here. FYI: the body is not a shooting victim. I actually found that some of the dialogue was more disturbing than the film itself. For example, near the beginning when Busy Philipps asks Erika Christensen if she knows why carnations have become the "funeral flower" and she tells her because back in the old days before they could embalm the body, they would use the flowers to try and "cover up the smell of the rotting flesh," that kinda creeped me out. So yeah, there's just a few little things like that. Overall the movie is fairly intense, if you're super sensitive to movies and such you'll probably need to watch something light afterwards. But please check this out, it's not too scary, it's amazing, and the acting and writing are terrific.
If you liked "Thirteen," "Swimfan," "Gossip," or even "My First Mister" then get this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Home Room- Not Another Day At School
This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. This is not another school shooting, anti-gun, anti NRA, adults are brainless type movie. Home Room is story about two young women, from completely different backgrounds, who's worlds come together after a high school shooting. It's about feelings and relationships but is told in a way that is far from being a chick flick. It is a movie that makes you stop and think. Home Room keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what is going on in Busy Phillips character "Alicia's" mind. Erika Christensen's character starts off as the goody two shoes "good girl" who got wounded in the shooting but we soon find a troubled "pleaser" who has many personal demons that, as her character puts it, "are killing me from the inside". This is an intelligent movie that let's you draw your own conclusions.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very moving and meaningful movie
I actually just watched this movie last night, I was expecting a movie more focused on the actual shooting and the shooter but it wasn't. It was focused on the strange and deepening relationship between the two main characters. This movie was rather long but you never noticed how long until it was over, I don't feel as though it dragged on at all. It really kept you hooked up to the last minute. It was a very beautifully and wonderfully made movie. I was very impressed to learn that it was an independent movie because it was done so well. The story was great the way it was told and I absolutely loved this movie. It really does change your perspective on people and you realize that someone may be mean or different but it may be for a reason--you have no idea what happens in other people's lives and this movie really makes you see that. I recommend that everyone go see this movie--if you go rent it, it's only like $4 or $5 and it's WELL worth it!

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring, slow pace, cliche
I don't see why this movie is highly rated. Very unlikable, simple characters, predicatble story - could have been told in 44 min tv show.

5-0 out of 5 stars Everyone has a story
OMG! This movie kicks! It's complete irony til the end. K, there's this terrible shooting @ school. The only one who saw the whole thing is this "goth" chick named Alicia. Well, the police and the principle want her to tell them exactly what happened... she doesn't give a s***. Well, the days go by.The police come, blah blah blah.... she ends up at a funeral for one of the students that were killed. Hates it there. Ends up at a hospital to sit with one of the injured students. The girl's name is Deanna. What seems like an " I hate you, You hate me" relationship blooms into a real friendship. But for some reason, Alicia hates the hospital. But why??? and since she hates it so much, why does she keep coming back to visit some prep?? Like i said earlier, the story is complete irony to the last seens... The question still stands, why does Alicia hate the hospital so much? especially that particular room, room # 201. I'll let you figure it out. There's a touching ending, so get your tissues ready!!!!!!! I urge anyone who has ever felt alone or has ever hated someone b/c of what they look like, i promise, it'll change your perspective... b/c EVERYONE HAS A STORY... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Ride Through Lesser Los Angeles
"Warm Blooded Killers" is a fast-moving ride through the less glamorous side of Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley. Freelance hitman John (Mick Murray), who is partnered up with his sister, tries to keep his difficult customers satisfied, while at the same time juggling errands for his upcoming wedding (to a stripper) and chasing a rare baseball card he remembers from his childhood.
Mick Murray's light touch playing a workaday, clock-punching criminal will make you wonder why this guy isn't a star yet; the dialogue is fresh, quick, and rings true. The brother-and-sister assassin team is a new spin on the hitman genre and their realistic bickering is laugh-out-loud funny. The story never falters and keeps you on your seat to the last; and in the best noir tradition, seems to be about one thing (a valuable baseball card) while it's really about another (watch the movie and see what). ...
