3-0 out of 5 stars Demonic clock thriller passes the time.
A clock possessed with some of the evil from the cursed house in Amityville wreaks havoc on an unsuspecting family. This low budget thriller manages to mix some surprisingly entertaining moments in with the expected hokem. Recommended to bad b-movie buffs, those wanting a quality ghost yarn should look elsewhere.

5-0 out of 5 stars Believe it or not, THIS MOVIE IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just rented this movie last night, thinking it would just be another average Amityville movie, but man was I wrong!

Last night was the first time in a long time that I actually found myself being scared while watching a horror movie. Seeing that room change from a normal living room to an old French torture prison was just too creepy, and seeing Jacob having those mood swings every two seconds, and seeing Lisa's boyfriend come out of the bathtub faucet all hacked up was just sick.

Without a doubt the best Amity. If you like those, rent it. (13 yrs. old viewer. Lol)

4-0 out of 5 stars Crazy good fun!
I love this movie - but then, I was a little kid the first time I saw it, which tends to make me like it for nostalgic reasons. However, if you like fabulously bad horror flicks, get this!

4-0 out of 5 stars Surprises galore!
What a suspensful flick this was! The story is interesting and quite complex. I have noticed that a lot of films kind of branch-off into different sub-plots, but this film doesn't, it has a main story. That makes it easy to follow. The characters were beleivable and that really adds to the horror. I must take away one star, simply because this film was a little to gross than it needed to be. For example, what was the disgusting and un-necessary deal with that guy who was "sinking" into the floor?

4-0 out of 5 stars Not half bad
This is probably the second best AMITYVILLE film. It has a good plot, good acting, good directing and it's creepy. It does have a very good story, I must say. It's definately a story that's too good for a diret-to-video sequel. If you liked the first film, check this one out. ... Read more

Elvis Presley does the clam--a now-forgotten dance--in this 1964 potboiler in which the King stars as a singer who gets a gig in Ft. Lauderdale with his combo but has to baby-sit a mobster's teenage daughter (Shelley Fabares) as part of the deal. Fabares's character, looking for a break, runs wild and makes life difficult for Elvis. The film has the usual "Elvis movie" bounce and wolfish jokes and glossy disposability, but the endearing (and smart) presence of Fabares as the love interest adds a bit more zip than usual. Songs include the title track, plus "Puppet on a String," "Do Not Disturb," and "Let's Party Tonight." Directed by Boris Sagal (The Omega Man). --Tom Keogh ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Elvis Lite
What can be said of another formulaic Elvis Presley movie? The usual elements of music, romance, comedy, and exotic locations are present. The songs are typical light weight rock 'n roll fluff from the mid-sixties. Ultimately, the allure of this film is one's interest in Elvis Presley. As is well known, the mid-sixties were a creative wasteland in the career of one of the most remarkable musical entertainers ever. The iron-fisted control Colonel Tom Parker exerted over Elvis' career stifled Presley's creative impulses regarding movie roles. Parker's idea was to keep "my boy" before the public in an endless series of Grade B flicks targeted at teeny-boppers of all ages. Ironically, the concept was profitable, for a while. Dedicated Elvis fans, including me, flocked to the local movie theater to munch popcorn and hum along to the title song "Girl Happy," "Puppet on a String," and (dare I confess it?) "Do the Clam." Now I am almost fifty, I can admit these foibles without blushing.

"Girl Happy" is okay family entertainment. Artistically the film is in the same league with Doris Day movies and Jerry Lewis comedies. The romance aspects are mild enough to view with the kids. The comedy is clean, and the language always appropriate. The film is great for nostalgia buffs that remember early high school days and the entertainment options available for young adults. (Remember the Beach Party movies)? There is nothing remarkable about this movie, but it is harmless fun. It's sad to be reminded of the wasted opportunities of Elvis' career, but that is getting way too cerebral over a light weight movie such as "Girl Happy." Don't think about; just kick back and enjoy it.

"Girl Happy"is the best and personally my favorite Elvis movie around. It's highly recommended and a must see!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best soundtrack of Elvis in the 60's
This movie is, to me, the best Elvis did in the 60's, surpassed only by Viva las Vegas. The soundtrack is great, the majority of the songs belongs to good old rock'n'roll, and the presence of Shelley Fabares is also exciting. In this movie is pure electricity between her and Elvis(the briiliant ending when Elvis, dressed in black, sings a reprise of the beautiful title song, and Shelley dances with him). The Meanest Girl in Town, I've got to find my Baby, Do the Clam, Startin'Tonight, Spring Fever and Puppet on a String are songs that reveals the true potential of the King, very far from the poor quality songs from Harum Scarum, Kissin'Cousins and others. It is a very entairtaining movie and in my country(Romania) still remains the most cherished Elvis's movie. I saw this film 20 times and I knew many people who likes to see it one more time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Girl Happy proves fun for Elvis fans.
Okay, say what you want about Elvis Presley's movies, but some of them were actually a lot of fun. Girl Happy is one of those. Elvis and his band travel to Fort Lauderdale for the annual pilgramage of college students for spring break. He is there to perform at a local club and to keep an eye on Shelley Fabares, not a bad job. Fabares adds some extra zest to this forumulaic Elvis movie. The songs are pretty good too with the title track along with Cross My Heart Hope to Die, Puppet on a String and my favorite, Meanest Girl in Town in which Shelley shakes things up, literally. I remember going to the local theater when I was about 13 or 14 to see this movie, then I bought the soundtrack to it and played the grooves off the record. This movie is a lot of fun and can be pretty nostalgic as well as a bit of a piece of pop history.

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN IN THE SUN
GIRL HAPPY features Shelley Fabares who herself had a number one hit record with JOHNNY ANGEL. There is a great scene where she sings while driving a car. She later starred in the ABC series COACH. Fabares and Elvis click on the big screen. The movie is like GREASE or the BEACH BLANKET BINGO movies or the ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW or BYE BYE BIRDIE. So if you liked those, you will like GIRL HAPPY. It has the usual Elvis routines: A fist fight, singing on stage, singing while driving a car, water skiing, riding a motocycle, and doing the Clam, a new dance that never quite caught on but which is fun to watch. Shelley Fabares and Mary Ann Mobley saunter on the beach and in the pool in their bikinis. GIRL HAPPY, indeed!

Uncle Festus (Jackie Coogan) from the Adams Family and Charlie Chaplin movies plays a policeman. The movie is a tongue in cheek take on the spring break movies. The plot and screenplay are adequate. The music is excellent although lyrically weak. The best song is PUPPET ON A STRING. The musical score is very good but the rest of the songs are merely MOVIE MUSIC such as Ft. Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and Wolf Call. But Elvis performs them well. They are tongue in cheek numbers.
GIRL HAPPY is entertaining. This version includes the ORIGINAL movie trailer. The picture quality and sound are excellent. This is not Elvis' best movie but it is a very good one from his MIDDLE PERIOD.

If you liked GREASE, you will like GIRL HAPPY. GIRL HAPPY is an enjoyable movie. Elvis sounds great toting a canary yellow Fender Telecaster guitar with a Bigsby tremolo bar. In VIVA LAS VEGAS, Elvis played a sunburst Fender Stratocaster.

2-0 out of 5 stars A not so funny musical comedy
This movie aired recently on TCM. It was a remake of Bachelor Mother which starred Ginger Rogers. Bachelor Mother was considerably better than this dud.

Basically the script is quite poor and not very funny. Eddie Fisher, while possesing a nice voice, just doesn't cut it as an actor. Debbie Reynolds does her usual good job but she simply can't carry this movie out of its mediocrity.

I feel I was quite generous in giving this movie two stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars loved it, it was joyful
Bundle of Joy (1956) 98 minutes

Director: Norman Taurog Studio: Turner Home Video
Adolphe Menjou, Una Merkel, Tommy Noonan, Debbie Reynolds, Eddie Fisher

Debbie Reynolds playing as Polly Parrish has a job at a department store and gets fired for selling too much merchandise. People end up bringing the merchandise back the next day. When she got fired she was walking home looking at the hiring agencies window for a job. When she proceeded down the street she found a baby on the steps of a foundling agency. The people walked out and saw that she had left the baby, so they thought. The people at the agency talked to the big boss at her job and explained why she needed her job back. She tried to tell the people that this was not her baby, but no one would listen. She took the baby in and loved him like only a mother would. The boss, Dan Merlin got involved and wanted to help her.

Everyone she tried to tell the story too did not believe her or she would just stop because it sounded crazy that something like this would happen to anyone.

This was a fairytale of sorts, kind of like Cinderella. This movie was in color, but was in black and white before. Bundle of Joy is a classical and a musical in one.

Dan fell in love with the fact that she was able to do such a selfless act. Polly and Dan got married so she did not have to work anymore. I thought this movie was great and had a lot of heart and soul to it. It was a feel good movie. It makes me want to think that good thing do happen to people.

I give this movie , because it had so much to give to the audience. It would be a great movie to take to you Grand-mothers house and enjoy with her.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not just for "little" girls
This is a great movie. Some romance, but not so it's overwhelming. You'll get some good laughs out if it too. I believe in some other reviews they tell you the plot, so I won't give that away here. This isn't just a good movie for "little" girls. I'm a "mature" teen, (heh, ask my mom) and I loved it. I saw it on TCM and thought it was wonderfully done for the fifties. Unfortunately I missed the first 10 minutes or so...but hope to see it sometime in the future. It's a great buy, even though the price is rather high. (I rhyme!^_~) I definitely reccomend this movie!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great movie for little girls!
I fell in love with this movie as a young girl. It has been one of my favorites ever since and is now one of my 10 year old sister's favorites. It's a great movie that I'll definitely share with my kids.

4-0 out of 5 stars delightful comedy classic
A remake of the 1930's BUNDLE OF JOY, this also bears simularity to film BABY BOOM, made decades later, about a woman who dosen't want a child but ends up raising one anyway. Debbie Reynolds plays a woman who is fired from her job at a department store around Christmas time, who finds a baby boy in a basket at the door of a shelter. She takes the infant in, expecting the workers to take care of it, only to find, much to her dismay, that they think she is the mother.(This film was made before women could simply give an unwanted child up for adoption.) Convincing them it's not hers is made all the more difficult by the fact that, when in one of my favorite scenes, she gives the baby to a woman working at the shelter, saying,"This is NOT my baby!" and the baby starts crying and screaming when he's taken away from Debbie Reynolds, but imedietly calms down after being put back into Reynold's arms. She finally manages to leave the child and walk out before they can give him back to her, thinking she's gotten off the hook, but they soon find out where she worked, and, beliving that she'd abandoned the child as a result of losing her job, they convince her boss to rehire her. Reynolds is delighted at first when she finds out she's got her job back, but not when she finds out the baby comes with it, and that she's going to be his new mother whether she likes it or not. Definetly worth seeing. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid Western from Flynn
The year was 1950 and Warner Bros. was looking to recapture their glory days into the foray of very big Westerns the studio produced during the 40s. MONTANA was one of Errol Flynn's last Hollywood films. He would make his last Western for Warner Bros. that same year ROCKY MOUNTAIN, based on a little known Civil War incident and one of my favorite Flynn films. In MONTANA Flynn is a sheepman who invades cattle country in Montana controlled by cattle ranchers Alexis Smith and Douglas Kennedy. Under Ray Enright's direction and under James R. Webb, Borden Chase and Charles O'Neal's scripting it has a feel of the empire building era that was prevalent in numerous Westerns. Flynn is smooth as usual but the film's greatest asset is the colour Cinematography by Karl Freund (Academy Award Winner for THE GOOD EARTH). Composer David Buttolph (THE HORSE SOLDIERS) provided the score.

Ron Howard's breakthrough film as a director launched Michael Keaton as a screen comic. In this film, he is teamed with a hangdog Henry Winkler as a pair of night attendants at a city morgue. Thinking entrepreneurially, Keaton (as the flakier half of the team) convinces a reluctant Winkler that they could kill two birds with one stone and use their quiet surroundings to start a call-girl business. The first girl in the stable of these unlikely pimps: Shelley Long, pre-Cheers. Given the rather tasteless subject matter (ever really met a happy hooker?), it's surprisingly good fun, ignited by the chemistry between the nebbish Winkler and the jet-propelled Keaton, who seized this role and used it to shoot him to stardom--and into several years of stinkers. Meanwhile, the film was supposed to help Winkler segue from the Fonz on Happy Days to a career acting in movies, but whatever happened to him? --Marshall Fine ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent DVD version of an all-time classic!
How can you go wrong with a Ron Howard directed movie? Well, maybe there is a slight possibility, but not with this cast. This is an enormously funny movie with links to Neil Simon and his inimitable, uncanny nack for brining together unlikely characters in all too likely and believable situations. Michael Keaton used this movie as a spring-board, but Henry Winkler (although hilarious in this role) kind of faded away quietly. Shelley Long is terrific, as are the myriad of extras. A definite addition to your collection!

5-0 out of 5 stars Work the Night Shift
Night Shift was the first major release for recent Academy Award winning director, Ron Howard. For the film's star he recruited his old Happy Days friend, Henry Winkler, to star. In addition to Mr. Winkler, he featured two unknowns, Michael Keaton & Shelley Long to co-star. The film centers around Chuck (Mr. Winkler) as real pushover, who works the night shift at a New York City morgue. Nothing in Chuck's life is going right, his finance is a demanding shrew, he gets bumped from the day shift to the night shift as his supervisor's young nephew takes the preferred time slot, he never gets the right sandwich he orders and his neighbor's dog chases him down the hall everyday. His new neighbor, Belinda (Ms. Long), is perfectly lovely, but she turns out to be a hooker. His new partner, Bill Blazejowski (Mr. Keaton), is a loud mouthed, pushing "idea" man, who is always coming up with one harebrained scheme after another. Chuck secretly falls in love with Belinda and when her pimp is killed and she is beaten up by a customer, Chuck gives into Bill's idea to become Belinda and her friend's pimps and operate out of the morgue. Mr. Winkler is very funny playing against his Fonzie role, but Mr. Keaton steals the entire film. He explodes off the screen as the manic Bill and just about every line he utters is hysterical. The film made him a star and he kept up the funny roles until Batman. Mr. Howard does a superb job helming the film as it is perfectly paced with virtual no dead spots. The film's closing credits feature Rod Stewart singing the original version of "That's What Friends Are For" which of course, a few years later, would become a huge hit for Dionne Warwick and Friends.

5-0 out of 5 stars Young Michael Keaton! WOW!
This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen and a keeper. Michael Keaton's "Billy Blaze", a ne'er-do-well entrepreneur, is hilarious and his antics are fast-paced and manic ("Note to self: CALL STARKIST"). Henry Winkler's metamorphosis from Superwimp into Superman is a relief ("YOU'RE GONNA PLAY TENNIS WITH GOD!") Shelley Long's portrayal of a hooker is great. Cameo includes Clint Howard (Ron Howard's brother) as a dorky high-school kid looking for a prom-night ride for him and his girl in a limo, ANY limo, even the City Morgue's hearse! See it with someone you can laugh with until your sides hurt.

5-0 out of 5 stars A fine early offering from Ron Howard.
I haven't seen this movie in 20 years, but it has still stayed with me. It's one of those blessedly funny films that you can watch while your brain is on autopilot.Ron Howard has really created a fine comedy here. Chuck works as a director in the local morgue. He's a good guy, but he's as stiff and uptight as the corpses. Yet he has a decent-paying day job and a loyal, if shrewish and carping, fiancee. If he can put aside bad sandwiches and aggressive dogs, it's not a bad life. All that changes when he's bumped from his cozy day shift at the morgue -- the plum job has gone to his employer's nephew -- to the night shift to work with Bob, his diametric opposite. Brash, loudmouthed, and annoying, Chuck can barely tolerate him. Chuck, however, forms a friendship with a kind prostitute named Belinda, and with the death of her pimp, he agrees to implement one of Bob's wild schemes: to run an escort service for Belinda and her sister prostitutes out of the morgue. Everybody's happy and making lots of money until a prominent pimp, who is peeved at missing out on a piece of the action, pays Chuck and Bob a visit. This is a fine and very entertaining movie. Check out the theme song from the short-lived early-80's pop band Quarterflash!

3-0 out of 5 stars A Bad case of Crabs
Okay my first review so be kind. I saw this video a while back and unless this VHS is different from what I saw this should be on the mark.

I'm being a little generous with the 3, but only because I don't think it deserves as low as a 2. Basic gist: murderous irradiated crabs with a penchant for human flesh cause mayhem in a sleepy Island Fishing Community. What is it about human flesh that every psycho, mutant, creature, alien, undead horror and other worldly monstrosity can't get enough of it?!

The the movie isn't great but it's not horrible. It's main flaw is the pace. The viewer already knows what's going on quite early in the movie so regretfully the slow pace doesn't build suspense and tension...rather it just makes the viewer wish the town's folk would get a clue and figure it out so the real action can start!

It's still not a bad movie and in truth I saw none of the infamous 'too stupid to be allowed to live' trait in any of the townsfolk, the only reason they take so long is because there are so many other possibilities for the happenings that sound a heck of alot more resonable than killer crabs.

No glitzy special effects, the acting isn't bad, the story's not bad. An average movie for mose. If you're a fan of those killer crab series of books 'Night of the Crab' etc. This movie might well rank a 4 for you. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A CLASSIC!!!!!!!
Fraternity Vacation is an excellent movie. I love this film. Stephen Georffeys is excellent as Wendell Tvedt, as well as Amanda Bearse. All the actors are well casted. Cameron Dye as Joe and Tim Robbins as Mother are hilerious and are well paired as buddies. Sheree J. Wilson is excellent and charming. It's nice to see Barbara Crampton and Kathleen Kinmont in their somewhat small roles. With this movie, you just have fun. It's funny, there's some romance and a little bit of nudity, if your Barbara Crampton and Kathleen Kinmont fans-you'll love it. This film is a classic in my opinion.

5-0 out of 5 stars Barbara and Kathleen are the real stars
The five stars is rewarded to the infamous scene with Barbara and Kathleen. They are so gorgeous. They are the true stars of this movies. I never grow tired of watching that scene over and over again.
This is their best work ever.

5-0 out of 5 stars Stephen Geoffreys, you the man
One should see this movie solely to see Stephen Geoffreys and Amanda Bearse working together again (from FRIGHT NIGHT). When watching the topless scenes, remember, this is fro mthe guy that directed THE MUPPET MOVIE.

5-0 out of 5 stars First american teen comedy in USSR
It was a first american teen comedy legally purchashed in USSR and even after 15 years it still stands amazing. Simple, nice, gentle and funny. Hollywood isn't able to make such films anymore...

5-0 out of 5 stars fraternity vacation
I really enjoyed the movie and I think that it would be good for an adult to watch it with some friends but not get the wrong idea that its all for sex or only to look at the naked women. I think that it is a good comedy movie with some romance on the side.

I also enjoy the fact that the beautiful women who plays on walker the tv show is on the movie. Sheree makes the movie better to watch. If I like an actress or actor that makes me want to watch the movie better and more. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible
This is a thoroughly bad movie, all the worse for desicrating Cyra McFadden's wonderful book of the same name satirizing New Age Marin County of the 1970s. (If you haven't read McFadden's book, treat yourself now!) Martin Mull and Tuesday Weld are delightful everywhere else, but not in this travesty of a film. Be smarter than me and stay away from this phony clunker.

1-0 out of 5 stars The Absolute Worst Movie I've Ever Seen
I saw this movie when it was first released and wondered why it was ever even made. I hoped that they had burned the negatives on this one. Even Martin Mull would probably admit it was not his best work. I am a huge fan of Martin Mull's, but this film was the worst thing I've ever seen. That is, up until this point in my life. Rent, don't buy it if you absolutely must see this...YUCK!

5-0 out of 5 stars From the land of fruits and nuts..........
Great movie about life in Marin county in the late seventies. Martin Mull just wants to lead a normal, middle-class life. His wife (Tuesday Weld) and friends won't let him. They try to drag him into every fad and fashion of the 70's and early 80's, from drugs and free sex to wacky "therapists" and cults. Very funny and prescient movie, with very good performances, and great lines- especially from the supporting cast.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great spoof of new age awareness!
Martin Mull stars in this comedy about upper-middle class life in Marin County, north of San Francisco. The movie is a good adaptation of the book by the same name and pokes fun at the "mellow speak" and new age fads of the late 70's. Contains lots of funny dialog you'll be quoting back to your friends, just like a Monty Python skit. ...

4-0 out of 5 stars From the President of the official Dean Martin Fan Center
"Who's Got the Action?" is one of the films that often gets missed when thinking of Dean Martin. Made right after "Sergeant's 3", and before the very dramatic "Toys in the Attic", this light-hearted comedy has enough Hollywood names in it (Lana Turner is his co-star) to keep you guessing where you've seen their faces before. It's by far NOT Dean's best work, but it's a fun filled breezy comedy like the kind we all grew up with, making for a fun Saturday night. Dean only sings over the credits (unfortunatly), but his scenes with the great Walter Matthau and Eddie Albert are great. The best is with comedian/actor Paul Ford. This was made in 1962... right before Kennedy was killed, and the Rat Pack was in it's glory years. Dean has that twinkle in his eyes that we all love, and never takes himself too seriously. The story is all about betting - horses - bookies and wives... nothing 'heavy' or Academy award winning... but anything with Dino in the lead is just plain fun! I'd give it a "B-" - Neil Daniels (chairman) Dean Martin Fan Center: admin@deanmartinfancenter.com

Sidney Poitier made his directing debut with this 1972 action comedy with an edge to it. Made at the height of the Black Power movement in America, the film has an unmistakable militancy in its story of a wagon-train guide and a con man who team up to throw a posse of white nightriders off the trail of escaped slaves. Poitier has never been a distinctive filmmaker, and Buck and the Preacher certainly doesn't indicate any early signs of raw talent that later went undeveloped. But the film's energy and sense of fun, hand in hand with the suggestively political zing, make it watchable. --Tom Keogh ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Brought The Black West to Life Before Posse
While I liked Posse, This was the film that brought the Black West to a wider audience. Sidney Poitier as Buck is exciting and Harry Belafonte and Cicely Tyson give him a big helping hand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yahoo! Great shoot-em up fun!
Looking for fast, shoot-em up fun with a little morality tale attached..this is it! Sidney Poitier is terrific as Buck, the former slave now gun slinger who helps newly freed slaves to homestead out west and guards them night riders trying to bring them back to a dying, post civil war south. Belefonte is charming as the Preacher who gives the good word as well as sling a colt .45. Don't miss Belefonte's terrific "fornication" speech scene. It's topped off with a stellar supporting cast including Ruby Dee as Buck's wife. This movie would be great fun to watch back to back with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid just to compare the relationships between the four characters. So sorry this movie is hard to find. It's great fun, especially for western fans. Happy watching!

5-0 out of 5 stars Reconstruction.... Western style!
Although I originally viewed this film as a child and viewed it then just as a comedic western I have in more later years come to know and understand this story as just one of the many injustices done to black americans after slavery had ended. The events portrayed dramatically and I must assume all too accurately reflect the open hostility and lawlessness that was too often visited upon a people simply in search of a better life.

Historic, dramatic, and comedic... Buck and the Preacher illuminates, educates, and entertains all at the same time.

4-0 out of 5 stars The struggle for a fair life.............
I thought that this movie should have been a little longer. Actually I wished that it had been a little longer. This movie marks more of the heroic deeds done by African Americans that went unmarked and ignored by this "Glorious Country". This movie takes place after slavery had officially "ended". Many, African Americans desired to head out west to find better lives in the open country. But, they were often harrassed, beaten, and, sometimes, killed along the trail by racist whites. Many had no ideal or sense of direction how to get where they wanted to go. There were African American "wagon masters" that knew the countryside well and often lead fellow African Americans to their destination regardless of the possible death that lie ahead. Native Americans proved to be very important allies in the struggle. Excellent job by Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte, and Ruby Dee. Great job on the video and audio transfer for a movie that hit the big screen in 1971. I also liked the menu audio which was done in dolby digital 5.1. However, the soundtrack for the movie is 2 channel dolby didgital. But, it is ample and satisfying. If you are a fan of African American westerns and or cinema, then this is a good movie to sit down and enjoy on a sunday evening. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Want Rockford Files on DVD Soonest!
Universal Home Video is releasing 'Thunderbirds' on DVD but still no word of 'Rockford Files'???? What's the hold up!? Is there some tangle of DVD rights? Doesn't Garner want the money? I thought he produced these himself!

Someone please tell me, who do I and a million of my closest friends have to e-mail to get this done?

5-0 out of 5 stars This show has got to get on DVD NOW!!!!!!!!
The Rockford Files is California of the 70s and it's definitely time to put this classic detective show on DVD! And for those of you who have not seen the show, here are the reasons that it serves as a classic. The hero is actually human because he has real relationships with his ex-con friends, the LAPD, his father and even his pretty female lawyer. The show has car chases, timely altercations and plots that have twists that really engage the viewer each time he/she watches. And I wonder how many devoted Rockford file fans secretly desire to live on a trailer at the beach.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have Rockford
Yeah, there's no reason why this shouldn't be out on DVD. I was not born when the series came out, but I found out about it a couple years ago when it was being rerun on TVLand. I still get my Rockford fix thanks to WGN, but I would really like to see a DVD collection so I can view them chronologically. Aside from having the best theme song of all time, and opening sequence in general, Jimmy is one of the best fictitious characters in any media, ever. Please release a collection!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars $200 a day plus expenses
A classic of its time, certainly popular in the UK.

One of the better shows which hasn't yet reached DVD yet - why?

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent TV movie
This is one of the best "Columbo" TV movies ever produced. It has a great cast, especially Leonard Nimoy as Dr. Mayfield, and the plot and storyline keep you interested throughout. Very well done.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of Columbo's greatest duels
Shirl Hendryx's superb script sets our hero the task of saving an ailing doctor from being killed on the operating table by his ruthless protege, the latter attempting to grab all the credit for a revolutionary new surgical drug they are developing. A pair of eerie operating-theatre sequences, a startling moment in which Columbo threatens his suspect somewhat less obliquely than usual, and a brilliantly clever resolution that's saved for the final frame, all combine to make this a good candidate for the title 'Columbo's Best Ever Case'.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spock meets Columbo..will logic defeat the rumpled raincoat?
Fantastic. Columbo takes on Leonard Nimoy, who plays a malicious cardiac surgeon. The murder is inventive and diabolical. There are numerous scenes to enjoy in this one, especially Columbo's arrival at the scene of the crime, wherein he shells his hard boiled egg on the murder weapon! ... Read more
