2-0 out of 5 stars Least favorite
This is my 4th Sansone tape--I am not entirely pleased with it. The transitions in both music and pace are pretty shaky. The belt offers me little resistance--I use 2 pound hand weights instead. This is my least favorite tape. I use it after the 3 mile or 3 mile walk tape.

4-0 out of 5 stars WORTH THE PURCHASE
I HAVE 4 OF LESLIE'S FAT BURNING WALK AWAY THE POUNDS VIDEOS.I HAVE BEEN USING THEM FOR ABOUT SIX MONTHS AND HAVE LOST 2 ENTIRE SIZES.THEY ARE EASY TO FOLLOW AND ONCE YOU HAVE BEEN DOING THEM FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS YOU CAN COMPLETE THE ENTIRE TAPE AND REALLY FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE GOTTEN A GOOD WORK OUT.
I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED THE WALK AWAY THE POUNDS FOR ABS- 2 MILES. I DO THIS TAPE EVERY THIRD DAY TO BREAK UP THE POWER WALKING.
JUST ONE NEGATIVE COMMENT. SOME OF LESLIE'S TAPES NEED ADDITONAL EQUIPMENT (STRETCHIE BAND AND WALK AWAY BELT)THAT ARE NOT MENTIONED IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE TAPE. ONCE YOU RECEIVE THE TAPE THEN YOU HAVE TO GO ONLINE AND ORDER AT AN ADDITONAL COST EACH OF THESE ITEMS AND WAIT ABOUT 2 WEEKS FOR DELIVERY.
BUT OVERALL, I AM HAPPY WITH HER TAPES AND LOOK FORWARD TO DOING THEM EACH AND EVERY MORNING. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
It certainly wasn't what I was expecting. I thought I was going to get a GOOD WALKING video but in turn got more strength training with this stretchy band thing that I don't even have. I didn't like how it began with walking only to stop walking and start toning. I would have liked it better if it were strictly a walking video with walking all the time with added toning, not stopping walking while toning. I don't much care for this one and I LOVE the other tapes I own but this one, I was disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Motivating
I am a former couch potatoe. I did not like exercise before I tried this DVD. Leslie has motivated me to get up and move. I like the results that I've gotten. I've lost 10 pounds adjusting my eating habits and exercising five days out of the week. I've noticed that my legs and upper back and arms have begun to respond to the toning exercises. This is a miracle for me. The best thing about it is it's do-able! I can't do aerobics--I'm too clumsy. But I've decided that I can do more exercise than I thought I could do. My next challenge will probably be pilates. But I won't abandon Leslie Sansone's tapes. By the way, Leslie is not irritating, she comes off as a genuine, nice person with no diva qualities. P.S. I'm sending a copy to my sister who has diabetes and is seriously overweight.

3-0 out of 5 stars Hardly walking strong!
I expected a lot more toning from this dvd/vhs, based on the title and description of the video. Although Ms. Sansone promotes the benefits of resistance work with the "stretchie" and the "interval training," this amounted to little more than maybe 10-15 minutes of actual toning work out of 30 minutes in the video. Although the walking steps are done to a brisk soundtrack, I also find it difficult to believe the level of activity for the video amounts to a 2 mile walk.

The pros - there are some worthwhile moves with the stretchie - some of the best are the lunge/squat moves. Once you learn these moves, you can easily repeat them on your own without using the tape if you want more resistance work.
Also, its great that she still includes the warm up period and cool-down stretching.

The cons - simply not enough toning. I feel I'm getting better results for my upperbody by using handweights. Also, the tape is more of a cardio/toning combination and it's too short on either end to really meet my personal cardio or toning goals per workout. I definitely have to augment this tape with other toning exercises or cardio time.

Still, overall a pleasant enough experience and I probably enjoyed it more than her regular 2-mile "cardio" walk programs.

4-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable
This video is similar to her others, with new people behind her and new music. The other reviewer is not totally correct in regards to the "annoying" music - that particular soundtrack is only for the first 5-7 minutes of the entire 30 minute video.

My only "wish" for this one is that she did more toning for even more areas. This is not to say that the toning is lacking, really... there are lots of different moves that target different muscle groups, with brisk walking in between. I guess I just sort of wanted even more (maybe a little longer than 30 minutes?).

Otherwise, I'm very satisfied with this title. :)

4-0 out of 5 stars Good tape to add to your collection
I got this tape as part of the whole collection of her "Walk Away the Pounds Express", and am very pleased with it. It's a tape that you may not do every day, I just view it as a supplement to use on days when I want a little something different. The stretchie band may not come with this video on it's own, but I got it with the set. If you don't have it, you can just use resistance bands available in any sports store. I would imagine you could even just use plain old 2-3 pound hand weights as well. I can really feel it in my arms and shoulders when I use it, and she does incorporate squats and lunges into the routine too. You do do some of the walking in it too, it's not all toning and strength training. She even manages to make this count as a "2-mile walk" for the day! It's a good tape to use for those days when you feel like a little variety, VERY easy to follow and doesn't leave you feeling wiped out at the end. Good one for your Leslie Sansone collection. ... This 1990 light-intensity workout, designed for beginning exercisers over 40, is extremely simple: many repetitions of marching in place, walking forward and back, step-touches, and low kicks. Leslie Sansone, chipper and cute, leads a 20-minute low-impact routine, with a five-minute warm-up and a five-minute cool-down. The workout is quite repetitious: you might march for more than 100 beats, broken up only by a few arm variations. Then you might kick 32 times. Considering all the workout videos Sansone has made, it's annoying that she cues her own left and right rather than yours (you're facing her, therefore her right is your left) and she incessantly chants the wrong "right, left, right, left." This video is for beginning exercisers who wish to keep the intensity low and don't get bored repeating the same four moves for half an hour. --Joan Price ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An Exercise Video I can Stick to!
I bought this video based on the "glowing" reviews of others. I'm glad I did! Leslie is very encouraging throughout the video (which is something those of us who are over weight need). Her "you can do it" attitude and "just keep moving" encouragement make the time go fast. There are no fancy steps to learn and you can get the workout the first time you watch it! This is finally an exericise video I will use for a long time to come! I've ordered more of Leslie's videos and can't wait to get home and "walk" my way to fitness!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Beginners!
I've been using Leslie's 1,2,3 Super Fat Burning Video for a few months now and decided to give this one a try for a change of pace. I'm only 23, but do have a lot of extra weight to lose and I would recommend this video to anyone starting out.

If you are very uncoordinated like I am, this video is perfect for you, because it's just a few basic moves combined with marching in place (walking). It's short, very easy to follow, and Leslie keeps you motivated through out the whole video.

If you are at an advanced fitness level than I would skip over this tape though and try one of her other ones instead. I've only been working out a few months now and find this to be a little too easy for me. I really only use it when i'm feeling a little lazy, but don't want to skip my work out all together. If you are new to exercising and are looking for a place to start though, this is your video.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fuels motivation
I checked this video out at the library along with the regular two-mile walk. I absolutely love it. Yes, it's from the early 90s and there's a little too much hairspray and thick black eyeliner, but Leslie's enthusiasm and encouragement make you tend to forget about it. Now I look forward to getting up in the morning and exercising before I even start my work day. Before, it was the last thing I'd think about doing, and then it wouldn't get done at all and I'd be disappointed that I let another day go by without taking better care of myself. I found the regular two-mile walk too difficult; I thought I was going to keel over dead by the 3/4 mile mark because there were so many lunges, but the over-40 tape is just right for those of us who've kept saying "I'll start working out tomorrow." If it's a little too easy, just add some of the arm movements or knee lifts and kicks when she's instructing just marching in place (like a couple of the people in the tape do), or add some wrist or ankle weights. As Leslie says so often (to paraphrase), it's not about fancy moves, it's about keeping moving, keeping your heart rate up, changing your body for the good. I've just ordered this tape and I'll definitely buy a few more just for variety.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Video has helped me loads!
I am 46 and bought this video years ago, but only since Jan. have used it everyday since..Yes, as some other reviewers say, Leslie does get off on the wrong foot, but she is so totally REAL, not like some of these others that are so false..She is ditzey and fun..It DOES get repetitious, but then I let my mind roam as I do whats best for me..combining this tape and Weight Watchers diet, I have now lost 65 pounds..I will continue to march along with Leslie, she's the greatest!

5-0 out of 5 stars very motivating for the beginner
I love this video as it's the perfect introduction to exercise. I am really out of shape, and the more strenuous of her videos was really discouraging to me as a beginner. This is a good workout, and I don't dread doing it as I have other videos. In fact, I like Leslie's enthusiasm for walking and exercise; it helps keep me motivated.

The only downside is that the camera focuses a lot on some of the walkers who "march to their own drummer"; that is, they aren't in step with Leslie at all. I try to ignore the screen when this happens, because it really throws off following the music. (the woman on Leslie's left with the black hair, white T-shirt with yellow print is the worst offender. She's very enthusiastic, but is nowhere near to keeping the beat of the music.) Still, this is a great exercise video, and I recommend it highly for those needing help getting started. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Easy to follow!
I am a total klutz, and I can follow this tape, so I'll bet you can too! Simpler even than Leslie's Two Mile Walk, but it still makes you sweat. The only reason I'm giving this four instead of five stars is that I wish it was about 5 minutes longer.

5-0 out of 5 stars a great workout!
I am a great fan of Leslie's walking videos. This video is just as easy to learn and gives you a great workout. If you are looking for something different to do, this is the video for you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for those who are clumsy!
I bought a stepper and this tape and don't have any regrets. Leslie is cheerful and human. The tape is easy to follow and each move is explained well. I am slow to learn any workout moves and this tape was not at all a problem. The music is bad, but Leslie and the workout itself is so good that I am giving 5 stars. Buy this tape if you are new to exercize or stepping. It is a great introduction that you will return to.

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent beginner tape.
I thought this was so helpful for me. This is the first tape I started my exercise plan with. It is not to hard. The moves are basic and anyone can do it. I have all of leslies tapes and i think she is a hoot. She is sometimes a little off but her personality is what kept me coming back.I have lost a total of 40 pounds and Iam still going!

5-0 out of 5 stars You can't beat her tapes!
After purchasing quite a bit of her tapes, I found that this one calls for a step. If you don't have one, you can still use it and do her walk exercises as you are following the tape. I love all her tapes, and this one you can use to alternate with her other ones. To prevent any kind of boredom or stop you from exercising, I highly recommend purchasing as many of her tapes as possible. I personally think she is the best. I am so glad I found her! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Leslie does it again!
I was looking for ab work to do after my walk and this set is perfect! I can do the ball workout or the Pilates and then use the yoga for a great stretch. You can tell Leslie is a real woman with a real life, her products help you fit fitness into your life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy, fun and non-intimidating
This series is the easiest method of learning yoga, pilates and ab work with the balance ball. I have thus far only done the Yoga and Pilates, but both are incredibly simple and surprisingly effective. A good way to add variety to your workouts, esp. if you're already doing alot of Leslie's other workout programs. I recommend this series and commend Leslie for doing a service to the fans who love her workouts-a little change here and there challenges the body and keeps the mind motivated and fresh.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to do!
I was looking for a yoga and pilates dvd that was short and simple. Leslie does a great job showing how easy yoga can be. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Video
This exercise tape is wonderful. Leslie keeps you motivated throughout the whole entire video and it is very easy to follow, anyone can do it. I recommend everyone to try this tape.

2-0 out of 5 stars The only Leslie Sansone "Walk Away" tape I haven't cared for
There were two things about this video I didn't care for--and one of them was my own fault. I didn't notice the video was from 1989, with all the poodle hairdos and glittery workout clothes and leggings!! I found it very distracting (but I giggled a lot, not something I often do during exercise videos so maybe that's really a plus...!)

But I found the low audio and video production values of this tape much more distracting. I believe it's one of her earliest videos, which might account for it. The others I've bought and used (I have at least 12) are far above this both in production and professionalism of Leslie's instruction. Very grainy video and it was often hard to hear the music. And as anyone who's followed Leslie's walking tapes knows, she IS perky and sometimes runs off on a topic with all sincerity, while we're all sweating away at our 24th repetition until she collects herself! Personally I don't have a problem with the perkiness and I'm advanced enough that the moves aren't much of a problem but occasionally I find myself talking to the TV saying, "Come ON, Les, get on to something else!"

I really liked that the folks in the video were actual students of all shapes and sizes, and, yes, a few men! from her classes. The set was not conducive to clarity of audio, though, and seemed pretty tight since it was so chock-full of "regular folks" doing the exercising.

Overall, I love her tapes, but get some newer ones with better production values and fewer people, I find those much easier to follow.

5-0 out of 5 stars Leslie Sansone is the best!
This is one of Leslie Sansone's older videos. I love this one. Not only does it involve walking, but it involves a lot of upper body motion that keeps your heart rate up, and keeps you sweating. Leslie has a wonderful way of keeping you motivated with her upbeat attitude. She consistently changes the routine with easy to follow steps that leave you feeling great after a workout. Leslie Sansone and this video are great!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for beginners!
I am 28 and overweight and just needed to start exercising again. The video was great and I feel like I am able to move up in levels without purchasing new videos. The exercises are easy and you can do it in such a small space the 20 minutes to each segment go by so fast! I would recommend it to those of you who just need a jump to get started again! It's fast and easy and just helps get you on the right track. Not only is it a great video, but includes lots of recipe ideas and a commentary at the end for helping develop a food menu! Great buy!

4-0 out of 5 stars Gets You Going
I am 25 and in fairly good shape but this video really got my heart going. I like Leslie's enthusiasm, though she could have probably done a better job picking out her music. When I get tired of stepping in place, I substitute a leg lift of grapevine. Usually I do my own moves because I really only need to hear the beat and her counting and encouragement. I like that the warm up lasts only a few minutes, and that she is continually stepping up the pace. I don't mind that everyone in the video is over fifty, though it was a little disconcerting at first. I break a sweat everytime, and only wish that the tape last about ten minutes longer. It got me back on track and I do it almost every night. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not complicated and you'll see results.
This was the first Leslie Sansone tape I purchased and I have been a fan of hers ever since. She seems to respect that most of us do not have a studio for a living room or have a degree in choreography. The workout moves are simple and can be done in a small amount of space. It's great for uncoordinated types like myself. I would've liked to have seen some stretching excercises beforehand and some focus on abs. Otherwise, it's a great all around workout. You'll see results if you stick with it and it's a great introduction to a more intense workout routine. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to start a running program but hasn't run before. Also a good intro into some basic weight training.

5-0 out of 5 stars Too Busy to Workout
Great when your on the go and too busy to workout !

3-0 out of 5 stars Not her best video
This is not one of her best tapes. As one reviewer already pointed out this is a jogging tape and I was looking for a low impact tape (her walk aerobics tapes). Get her miracle mile or 2 mile walk tapes and you will never look for another instructor.

4-0 out of 5 stars I love exercising to this tape
This is one of my favorite tapes mainly because of the length of it. I feel like I get a workout without taking too much time. I find myself not taking time to exercise with longer tapes.

3-0 out of 5 stars I love her tapes!
I was a bit disappointed in this tape because it is not a walking tape, it is a jogging tape. I have knee problems, so in place of it, I do her walk exercises while she is jogging on the tape. I really thought from the title it would be different, such as a quick version of her walking, plus fast firming exercises, etc. Anyway, she is really the best and if you like to jog, get this one and enjoy! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Finally...
This is a wonderful tape. I own all three of L. Sansone's walking videos. It is any easy way to comfortably get your exercise in even when the weather outside is not cooperating. I am able to get my walk done in my small loft area in front of the television. It takes very little room. If you can walk in place, step to the side, lift your knee and/or kick either foot out in front of you slightly, then you can do these tapes with ease. Save yourself the price of a treadmill. I know several people who are trying to sell their treadmills now that they have discovered these tapes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Feel the energy and feel your body toning everyday!
My mother-in-law bought these tapes and then later ordered the weight balls to go with it. I have been doing these tapes for almost 4 months now and I just can't believe how fun it is and what a great workout you get. I even got my mother-in-law (who is 60) and her sister (who is also 60) to workout with me everyday when I do, and they love it! They are diabetics and have a hard time to do any excercise because of their age, but they can keep up and enjoy this workout with me. They have lost 10 pounds each doing these tapes and they feel energised and healthy. You don't even have to use their weights to feel it working. We don't have that many weight balls to go around so we use our own weights and we get a great burning workout anyway. We have all three tapes and we had started out doing the first mile for a month and then switched to the second mile for the next month and then we went onto the third mile. It's definitely a challenge doing them, but I just loved them so much that I bought this set for my mother for mother's day. I reccommend them and believe me....you will love them and want to do them every morning, afternoon, and night. Try it, you won't regret it! If I can do it and my mother-in law (at her age) and her sister can do it, then you can do it tooo!

5-0 out of 5 stars Walk Away the Pounds -- IT WORKS!!! and ITS FUN!!!
I have tried a multitude of different exercise forums over the years and this is the first time I have found something that I can actually stick to. Leslie and her group actually make this Fun to do. I own the set, so If I am not so energetic I do the first tape. If I feel really great I go to the three mile walk. I walked away thirty pounds in two months. Now, I ate really sensibly during that period of time, but I am sure that Walk Away the Pounds was at least 75% responsible for my drastic weight loss. And I am positive it was responsible for my increased energy and more positive outlook. Thank you Leslie Sansone for making my life a whole lot better. P.S. If I can do this anyone can. I have Fibromyalgia and this has practically eliminated my pain and stiffness in the A.M. I have been searching a LONG TIME for something that will take off the pounds . . . and I am 48.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to do and follow
I hate to exercise.I'm lazy. I have bad coordination. I'm the type that trips over patterns in the linoleum:) With that said..I must urge others like me to try this work out. I found this to be very easy to follow. You have just three basic moves. Walk, kicks and side steps. I really like that the people in the work out are a range of fitness and age.(20's-60's) There is one older man and an older woman plus a younger woman who is heavier.I love that the instructor is in her 50's.I get a great deal of insperation from them. They show you one person to watch who is modifying the moves to lessen the intensity. I found this to be very helpful since I have just started this 5 days ago. No weights are needed. I have more energy already. While there is no weight loss yet, I know it will come.

5-0 out of 5 stars REALLY BURN FAT - NO EQUIPMENT NECESSARY!
I own this and many other of Leslie's walking videos. They are all great, easy to follow and best of all do not require special equipment. all you need is a sturdy pair of sneakers (no fancy and expensive exercise clothing either just whatever is comfortable for you). I wish I had discovered Leslie's videos several years ago before I spent a lot of $$$$ on exercise equipment that has hardly ever been used. I use Leslie's videos 4-5 times a week and am never bored. Save your money. Don't sink it into exercise machines that take up space and end up been used as clothes racks! Invest more than a few $$ for a good pair of walking shoes for those precious feet and walk with Leslie everyday rain, sleet, snow, or shine. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Flexible & Effective Workout!
I really enjoy Leslie Sansone's 2 Mile Walk video so decided to try her Walk off Weight video. I love it! The workout is divided into 3 sections plus a cool down at the end. The set is a living room with comfy couch and coffee table. Not lavish but I think the intent is to show you can do this in a small amount of space in your home. Behind Leslie is a window that is fun to watch as one minute it is storming and the next its a calm sunny day! Leslie is the only exerciser in the first section. It is a nice slow 20 minute 1 mile walk perfect for a day when you are tired but want to get moving. The next 2 sections are each twenty minute 1 and 1/2 mile walks. Leslie leads several other exercisers with enthusiasm and the steps are simple to follow yet vary enough to keep the viewers attention. You can do 1 segment, 2 or all 3 depending on your mood and needs. I pop it in after dinner or lunch to get in a quick walk. The music is upbeat but not intrusive. If you are looking for a very low impact workout that offers flexiblity and you enjoy simple stepping movements I think you will enjoy this video!

4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Exercise Video
I like several of Leslie Sansone's walking workout videos. From best to worst, here's how I rank the 5 I own:

2-MILE WALK -- 5 STARS. Her best video. Good pace, lots of variety. Not too hard for a beginner. It has a mileage gauge, which helps keep me going. (1996)

MIRACLE MILE -- 4½ STARS. A 1-mile walking workout in 15 minutes, plus a cool down and stretches. Great for those days when I haven't much time but I want to get some quick exercise in. Also good on days of cramps, if tired, etc. (1996)

WEIGHT LOSS WALK -- 3½ STARS. Has 3 20-minute segments of 1 mile, 1.5 miles, and 1.5 miles. Excellent for variety. Handy for those days when I want a different distance. Segments can be done alone or combined for a wide variety of distances -- up to 4 mies. A mix of familiar movements and different exercises, some of them a little goofy, some of them fun. I don't like the silent gaps between songs, but I recommend this exercise video. (1993)

Not recommended:
PLUS 40 WORKOUT -- 2 STARS. A 2-mile workout, not nearly as good as "2-MileWalk". Seems somewhat amateurish. Has silent gaps between songs. (1989)

WALK & FIRM -- 2 STARS. Leslie with hand weights doing safe and simple exercises. Unfortunately, I really can't get into it, and I've never finished the video. (1998)

Leslie's videos are hard enough but not too hard for people just getting back into exercise. When I use them daily (especially mornings) I find I'm much less hungry all day. I've lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks. I try to exercise daily but usually do so 4-6 times a week. I feel better, sleep better, and have better posture.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
This is a great workout! I do the walk away the pounds for abs 3 miles, but when I want another mile this is a good choice. It is a lot more choreographed--meaning more dancelike than the other Sansone tapes. It is a good de stresser and I felt very worked out at the completion of the tape.

1-0 out of 5 stars Buy a different one!
I loved the 1 mile, I loved the 2 mile, I loved the 3 mile... I hated this. Well, I need to qualify that: I hated the 6-7 minutes I had this playing, until I had had enoughand took it out of the DVD player. First, she is alone, at least in the beginning (do more people join her in her living room set later?), which is weird. Then, as mentioned below, she directs you according to the leg she is using, which will throw you off completely--you have to either follow what she says or ignore that and mirror her. She is sort of hopping (literally) around, even in the first 6-7 minutes, which I didn't like--it's *walk* aerobics.

I love Leslie's other stuff and suggest that you just find a different one of hers and avoid this one. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A decent workout but has some flaws
I have Leslie's earlier "Walk Away The Pounds" 1,2 & 3-mile tapes, and I like those better than this set. It seems to me that she has made a decision to "simplify" the workouts on the "Express" set, making them (for me, anyway) quite monotonous. The 1-mile tape is very, very easy and I would not recommed buying it separately, as you will be ready for more of a challenge very quickly. The 2-mile tape is better--it's billed as the "brisk walk" and it does feel like a good workout by the end--but again, the moves are extremely repetetive--just marching in place, side steps, knee lifts and kicks. These are the same basic moves as in her earlier tapes, but there she made them a little more varied by adding more arm movements, single vs. double side steps, etc. I also dislike the music, which I don't find very tuneful at all.
The tapes also utilize the "stretchy band," which is a long, rubber-esque band you use for upper-body stretches. I do like this and feel it's helping to give me some much-needed upper-body strength.
I haven't gotten up to the 3-mile tape yet, but will assume it's along the same lines as the 1 and 2-mile.

4-0 out of 5 stars Moving on up
The video is great for people that is starting out...but the downfall about this video is that once you do it over and over ..your body adjust and it becomes too easy and you will have a stand still in my opinion and you must move on too bigger and better things...but it is good for beginners...

5-0 out of 5 stars I Highly Recommend This Set for Those Who
I bought this set because I already had Leslie's Walk Away The Pounds set and wanted to do something different. This comes with the 1 mile, 2 mile (combined in one dvd), 3 mile DVD and a purple stretchie band.

Leslie does the same moves as she does in the Walk Away the Pounds set but uses the stretchie band instead of water weights. I have done all 3 of the workouts and I always feel energized after doing them. The only negative I can come up with is that Leslie simply talks too much. After learning the routine, I always mute the sound and play my own music because I get annoyed by the contant chatter.

I will admit that Leslie seems like a very nice and genuine person and I don't mind her letting you know what steps you are getting ready to do, but the constant banter about how great the "workout buddies" are etc. I get bored with after the first 2 times of doing the workout.

I used Leslie's workout tapes when I was 50 pounds heavier and I hadn't exercised in ages. Her tapes along with healthy eating habits helped me suceed in losing the weight. If Leslie comes out with more sets, and I'm sure she will, I will definately buy them!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the BEST ONE YET!
Walk Away the Pounds Express is Leslie's best. It is so motivating. The music, the walkers, the program for 1 mile, 2 miles and 3 miles are just great. Leslie keeps you motivated as you walk with her and all her walkers. I have many of Leslie's videos and I love them all but Express is my favorite. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars In-Home Walking
This video is excellent for anyone who hates to exercise. I have never been successful with exercise plans, but I am very motivated with this video. It's 20 min. of an intense but easy to follow routine. I feel really good about myself, and I'm going to order other tapes by Leslie, too. She's a great motivator!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic fat & calorie burner!
I've been using Leslie's first tape, WalkAerobics and decided to buy this one to go along with it. It's excellent! As I expected, Leslie is encouraging and fun throughout the entire work-out; the steps are simple, yet intense and powerful. Using both the WalkAerobics tape with the In-home Walking, on alternate nights, I lost 3-1/2 pounds in my first week! At the end of this video, Leslie's sister, a nutritionist, joins Leslie to help with meal planning. Very informative and helpful when you're on a weight loss program. Highly recommended video for experienced and beginning aerobics exercising.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Good Value
The entire video is about 45 minutes long. The first 20-25 minutes is Leslie's workout. It's short, but intense because she recommends using hand weights. Leslie is working out in the living room of her home with no other students there. Later she & her sister, a nutritionist with a Ph.D., give explain the Harris-Benedict Equation. This is used to calculate your daily calories needs according to your height, weight, age & activity level. Finally, we get a recipe for pizza. All in all, it's a great video. Leslie keeps exercising simple and easy to follow, yet effective & fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Essential Exercise Video
A must-own exercise video, in this Leslie takes you on a 25 minute intense aerobics workout. Using only basic exercise moves (kicking, side-stepping, kick backs and knee lifts, mostly), Sansone gets you out of your seat with fast-paced music, inspirational words for dieters and overly enthusiastic comments on how well you're doing. In all fairness, nothing has helped me more than this video. I've been using this (varied with a twenty minute audio cassette also by Leslie- great for traveling) three times a week for two years. I lost the ten pounds I wanted to and haven't gained an ounce back since, WITH NO DIET CHANGES!

The short duration of the tape is also encouraging, unlike a Richard Simmons (or most other similar workout tapes), you're not dancing your buns off for upwards of an hour, it's just 25 minutes!

A must-own way for getting a healthy, non-obsessive workout without leaving your living room.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best yet for couch potatos
I would highly recommend this tape to anyone that is just starting to exercise or has never exercised. It is so easy to do and follow. I have had knee surgery, and cannot do to much twisting or jumping, and this tape is just what I have been looking for. I will certainly purchase more of Leslie's tapes in the future. ... Read more

Lower- and upper-body muscles are worked separately, sometimesusing weights, in this 45-minute video (set in a living room) from1992. Segment one is for the lower body, and although there are weightsbeside her on the rug, the routine is traditional floor work, withinstructor Leslie Sansone lying on her side or on her elbows and kneesdoing leg lifts, kicks, and presses. She only uses a dumbbell in thissection to occasionally rest it on her thigh or behind her knee as shecontinues the floor-work routine. There is no warm-up at the beginningor lower-body stretch at the end. Segment two, for upper body, startswith pushups (again no warm-up), then a few shoulder exercises withdumbbells, followed by biceps and triceps. There are no exercises forthe back: the most underused muscles for most of us. Sansone and herassistants do these exercises sitting cross-legged on the floor, aposition that is more likely to stress the lower back (especially whenshe doesn't emphasize keeping the back neutral) than standing orsitting in a chair. A short abdominal routine is adequate but does notstress proper form. Segment three uses weights for squats and lunges, but without any instruction about proper form. In fact, a side viewshows that she is doing the squats incorrectly herself, letting herknees go forward of her toes. Then it's back to floor work andabdominals. This video is obviously geared to beginners, but the lackof attention to technique and alignment make it a less desirable choicethan the many fine muscle-strengthening videos available. --JoanPrice ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great for toning
I think this is a great tape for toning. The segments really pack a lot of exercises into 20 minutes. Coupled with an aerobic exercise, this is really shaping me up. Leslie does jabber on a bit -- but she leads a good workout.

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than "Firm Off Weight"--get this one instead!
Sure, this video doesn't have a warmup, cool down or stretching, but it is still a good strength tape. I like to use it after a cardio video when I'm already warmed up. Afterwards I either do my own stretches or put in a stretching video.

This video has 3 sections. The first one has challenging floorwork. I don't even have to put on ankle weights to feel the burn. Great for the thighs and glutes! The second segment is all upper body. She is sitting in an awkward position for these exercises, and left out back work, so I gave this video a 4 star rating. The last section is lunges, squats, and abs. She does the lunges nice and slow, and I was surprised on how much I felt it the next day. I have many other videos, where the lunges are faster, and I just don't feel the benefit of the exercise, except for this video!

3-0 out of 5 stars weight loss
i enjoy the walk off weight video

1-0 out of 5 stars Leslie Sansone, Walk Off Weight System - Firm Off Weight
This video was poor enough to motivate me to warn other users about its content. The video does not include warm ups, cool downs, stretching of any kind or complete instruction regarding the correct form to be used during the exercise. In fact, during some segments such as the outer thigh workout in Segment #3, the improper form is demonstrated. The range of exercises is minimal. Even if all three segments are completed, exercises for the back, calves and quadriceps are missing. There are too many good videos to waste time or money on this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a fun tape that really works for losing weight.
I have Leslie's Walking Aerobic tape for the family which I had been using prior to getting this one so I was already started in the process of losing weight. I really like this one as well and maybe even better as I feel I get a very strenuous workout and it has varied moves which make time goes fast and is actually very fun. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My exercise Bible!
I am so thrilled with Leslie Sansone's Walk Aerobics video. I have had it for several years and it is the only home workout that keeps my interest up and gets me into a good sweat! The moves are very easy to follow and the workout is exhilerating and timed perfectly. The toning segment at the end provides a wonderful stretching and toning workout without having to go to the gym! I have just ordered two more of her videos - I trust her expertise 100%! She makes exercise fun and rewarding!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good for a beginner
I am not a dancer so this tape's easy moves are such a relief. Leslie even walks you through the moves before the exercise portion begins. She also has you check your heartrate, which is good. But she doesn't explain the how and why of monitoring the heart rate fully. I do like this tape, even if it is from the '80s and the mucic is a little off for the pace of the movements.

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm buying another copy!
Leslie is from where I am in Pennsylvania and I can remember doing this video with my mom at a young age just for fun. Since then whenever I wanted a good workout I always went back to this video. (I knew her words by heart!) I've got my own place now, married and on a low carb diet and want to incorporate a workout as well and thought I'd look for my own copy of the video. I'm so glad I found it easily and I might pick up some of Leslie's more advance videos as well. She's fun and the video is easy for any fitness level!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great workout
I was pleased when my dayghter-in-law gave me her copy of this walk aerobics video by Leslie. She's wonderful, I have enjoyed it so much that I do it twice a day, morning and evening. Am trying to purchase her advanced walk aerobics video, but having some difficulties. Do you have an outlet in Australia selling Leslies great workouts. Have benefited greatly. Keep up the great work...

This 1990 workout is simple enough for even first-timeexercisers. Leslie Sansone and a roomful of women (whom she addressesas "girls") from her fitness center present 45 minutes of"walk-aerobics" consisting of four basic, low-impact moves: marching, lowkicks, knee-ups, and side steps (also known as step-touch). AlthoughSansone sometimes adds directional and arm changes, the steps getrepetitive. This might appeal to some beginners, but will boreexercisers who prefer the stimulation of variety, choreography, and/orchallenge. Since the moves are so simple, it's incomprehensible whySansone never catches on that she should cue the viewer's directionrather than her own. Her frequent "right, left, right, left" isannoying when we're actually doing "left, right, left, right,"mirroring her. After the aerobics, you get 15 minutes of traditionalfloor work for the lower body and abdominals. --Joan Price ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Workout & (a good) Ouch Ouch Ouch for floorwork!
This video starts out slow, but then takes you further than other Leslie Sansone videos. The only ones that really give me a good workout are 2 Mile Walk and 1,2,3 Mile Super Fat Burner and the later starts out slow, too. That is great if I don't have the energy at first, because you will get some energy that carriers on long after the workout. I do the jogging, but there are times I don't and do the walking alternative. The music is upbeat and everyone looks great, which really helps inspire me. At the end of the workout there are outer thigh and glute floorwork. I was surprised on how effective it was for a Leslie Sansone video, and I have done some Firm tapes to know what a challenge is. There is also abdominal work at the end, too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Longer and faster-paced
I really enjoy doing Leslie's tapes. I was a little disappointed in this one, though. It's a bit longer (45 min.) and faster-paced (has a jogging aerobics section with a walk aerobics alternative). Usually the people in her videos are club members...this one has the walk aerobics instructors (who all look great). For a longer video, I thought it used a lot of the same steps too repetitively. Even her shorter videos really vary the steps so you don't get bored.

I will use this video because it is easy and you do exercise for a longer period at moderate intensity, which Leslie says we need to do for fat burning. However, I find myself substituting other of her walk aerobics moves when I'm tired of doing knee lifts and side steps.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed with this one.
I have 3 other videos by Leslie that I really like, but this one just doesn't measure up. First of all, it is very amateurish compared to later tapes. There are gaps in the music that are distracting. Also in her "Walk Away" and "Express" videos, there is a friendly back and forth between her and the people exercising with her. In this one, Leslie just talks and talks alone, which is very dull. Another thing: they jog in this one, not just walk, but for some reason, I got more of a workout with her Walk-Away-the-Pounds 3-mile tape, than with this supposedly 4-mile tape. Overall, I wish I'd left this one in the store.

3-0 out of 5 stars Boring - No Time - Distance Meter
I am just trying to get back in shape and using videos to do it. This is my second Leslie Sansone video, third low impact aerobic video. I don't really like it. I have her 2 mile walk and love it. It made me want to get more of her videos but I think I will stick with her stuff from 1996 on.

I feel that the 2 mile walk gave me a better, more varied, low impact work in 25 minutes than this did in approx. 40 min. The 2 mile walk does a few more different types of moves and I also feel that it changes them up more to make it more interesting. The timer on the two mile also keeps me going while this video I was just waiting for it to end. I have only used twice and can't get into it. I don't look forward to it if I have decided to put it on.

The set is very cheesy. There are gaps in the music. It does have some jogging segments but during it I feel the low impact option feels like it just drags on. I have not tried the toning section at the end yet.

I am still willing to give other Leslie Sansone's videos a chance because I truly love the 2 mile walk.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good For Beginners
I bought this video because I had heard so much about them and I was looking for something different. I found this workout to be extremely easy and I would recommend it to anyone who is just starting to exercise or someone who is very overweight. None of the movements are complicated and for the most part it is very easy to follow. However, if Denise Austin is too perky for you, Leslie will really get on your nerves. She does alot of giggling and as mentioned in another review there are alot of inside jokes. I make the workout more intense by adding some hopping to the moves and by jogging when she is marching. I think the toning segment at the end is very good though. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars all of the Leslie Sansone Walk Aerobic Tapes
I started using the over 40's video when I had a leg operation and had to walk every day. Although I am not over 40 I was very unfit. I progressed to Walk Aerobics, Advanced Walk Aerobics and the Fat Burner Workout. I have gone from being totally exhausted at the end of every workout to being energised and able to do another workout with weights, I am able to climb stairs and have lost weight. The Walk Aerobics tapes are superior to others because they are simple, effective and can be done in a small area

3-0 out of 5 stars Leslie Sansone-Walk Aerobics for the Family
The workout content of this video is good. I found that the ongoing talking and laughing with the members of the video during the workout to be a bit distracting. I bought this video because I work out with my 2yr old in the room and would have loved to see the kids in the front.

5-0 out of 5 stars Try it -- you'll like it!
Judging from the title, you'd think you have to gather your family members around you to do this tape! Not so! All you need is yourself. She does have different age adults and some children doing the exercises with her. But if you purchased several of her tapes and want a change, get this one. All her tapes are fun, simple walk steps, side steps, back and forth walk, arm movements, etc. Nothing to worry about; nothing to hurt yourself with. I prefer these tapes over any walker, stepper, gliders, etc. Get them and enjoy -- have a ball! ... Read more
