5-0 out of 5 stars Finally a movie about the TRUE general Custer
I find that son of a morning star is the best cinema work about general Custer and the battle of Little Big Horn of the cinema's history ! All american people MUST see this movie for learning what was really the general Custer. I advise all people to see this movie, it is very very very very very good. If it will be more than 5 stars for rating it, it would have more ! GARY COLE IS WONDERFUL IN CUSTER, THE INDIAN ACTOR OF CRAZY HORSE TOO. ROSANNA ARQUETTE IS GREATLY IN LIBBY, AND THE LITTLE INDIAN GIRL TOO. SIMPLY THE BEST MOVIE ABOUT CUSTER, LITTLE BIG HORN AND THE INDIAN'S WAR !

4-0 out of 5 stars Well Done!
This is as good a version of the Little Bighorn that has ever been done for film.

Gary Cole is very good- although he does not look like a horseman. Unfortunatly, Rosanna Arquette, who plays Libbie Custer the General's wife, seems just to be interested in collecting a paycheck. She is as wooden as it gets. However, I think David Strathairn, a regular of John Sayles' films, does an excellent job as Capt. Benteen. Although, the horrendous wig he is outfited with detracts from his performance, he does capture, IMHO, the cranky complainer personality of Benteen very well. (Anyone familiar with the writings of Fred Benteen can tell you he WAS angry with the world.)

"Son of the Morning Star" relied on the services of dedicated re-enactors who brought a sense of authenticity to the uniforms and equipment not seen in other Little Bighorn movie re-creations. Unfortunatly, although re-enactors are great at dressing their parts, they don't often look their parts- the 7th Cavarly was not as heavily populated with middle-aged, overweight men as "Son of the Morning Star" would have you believe.

Finally, the outfit Gary Cole is wearing for the Little Big Horn scenes is based on an actual photo. In 1875, a picture was taken of Custer at a picnic near Ft. Lincoln wearing a hat and a white buckskin jacket, which look alot what was depicted in the movie. Of course, we don't know if Custer wore that outfit a year later, but that photo shows that the producers for the movie just didn't make it up. However, the movie's Little Big Horn scenes show Gary Cole with his face shaven and hair immacutely clean, conditioned, and styled. Hardly realistic.

4-0 out of 5 stars Custer: Symbol v. Human Being.
The purpose of "Son of the Morning Star," both the book and the miniseries, was to show that George A. Custer is not just a symbol, good or bad, for culural/political causes, but a human being with flaws and attributes. A previous review is a perfect example of the failure to see Custer as anything but as a symbol. To some people, Custer is the embodiment of the evils of Manifest Destiny. It's an ironic fate for someone who died in the most spectacular, albeit temporary, setback for Manifest Destiny.

Custer is a fascinating historical figure because of his symbolism. So many people have such strong feelings about him for what he represents, but so few people really know anything about him. Born the son of blacksmith in a rinky-dink Ohio farm community, Custer was no son of privilege. Yet he was a brigadier general at age 23, a major general at age 25, and fought with great courage and skill in America's most horrific war. It never ceases to amaze me how people throw slurs at the officers and men of the Indian fighting army, but ignore that a large percentage of those men fought with undeniable heroism to re-unite this country and free the slaves. Custer, Reno, Benteen, Cooke, Yates, Keogh, Tom Custer, Smith, and a number of other officers of the 7th Cavalry were all Civil War vets.

Attacks on Custer's courage for "fighting women and children" just demonstrates an ignorance of his Civil War combat record and the realities of Plains Indian warfare. Custer graduated college in June 1861 and a month later he saw action at Bull Run. In April 1865, he would receive General Lee's flag of truce near Appomattox. In between, he saw action in almost every campaign in the Eastern theatre of operations. Even after he became a general, he still exposed himself to danger and was often seen fighting in hand to hand combat. At Appomattox, his superior, General Sheridan awarded him the wooden table, upon which General Grant signed the papers of General Lee's surrender, as a gift of appreciation for his magnificent courage and leadership.

Yet people believe that such a ferocious combat commander reveled in fighting women and children! Plains Indians didn't fight like Rebels. They had a different concept of warfare from the U.S. Army- guerrilla tactics, hit and run. To the Army, the biggest difficulty of Plains Indian warfare wasn't fighting the Indians, it was finding them! In 1876, the biggest fear the U.S Army had was that the Lakota and Cheyennes would scatter before the Army could attack them and this mentality was the reason for Custer's decision processes on June 25. The Army had been forced to attack villages because this was the only effective method it had of forcing the Indians to stand and fight. Yes, women and children would die as a result and this was regrettable, but so were civilian casualties at Vicksburg and Atlanta. However, on June 25, 1876, the Army completely underestimated the Lakotas' and Cheyennes' willingness to stand and fight. Custer thought he would be pressing the issue, but instead had the battle dictated to him with catastrophic results for himself and his men. This "arrogance" was a mindset held not only by Custer, but the entire U.S. Army and they paid for it on June 25.

"Son of the Morning Star" was an attempt to present Custer and the Little Big Horn not just as symbols. Another reviewer mentioned "Little Bigman" as being a more historically accurate potrayal. That is absurd. While "Little Bigman" is a very entertaining film, it's as unrealistic as the 1941 movie "They Died with Their Boots On" which starred Errol Flynn. Flynn's Custer was portrayed as the ideal American military hero for a country that was preparing for World War II. In 1970's "Little Bigman," Custer is shown as a symbol of lunatic American imperialism as the country clashed over the Vietnam War. "Son of the Morning Star" was an attempt to show Custer as a human being without World War II or Vietnam era propaganda. This miniseries does take a lot of dramatic license with its subject, but in comparison to previous efforts on the Custer/Little Big Horn story it's refreshing in its candor.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not the true Custer
This is a terrible and unaccurate portrayal of one of history's most overblown "heroes," George A. Custer.
He was a butcher and a madman who did most of his "Indian fighting" against women and children as the Seventh Calvary rode them down in ambush attacks in their village. Custer was one of the biggest contributers to America's own version of the holocaust which we conviently tend to ignore. Custer is not someone to glorify as this miniseries tries to do on the heels of the Indian freindly "Dances With Wolves." This seems to be more of a PR move to appease those appalled at 'Wolves' notion that the U.S. army at the time were less than honorable.
Rodney A. Grant from that film (Wind In His Hair) plays exceptionally the role of Crazy Horse, but his screen time is cut embarassingly low. Custer on the otherhand, is played up like a Tall Tale from the western drugstore dime novels. Here he's romanticized as a great guy, but this just ain't so.
The novel "Son of The Morning Star" from which this miniseries is supposedly based, gives a more realistic portrayal of the real Custer. His Indian name translation, "Son of the Morning Star," is actually another name for the devil in American Indian lore.
Skip this movie and read the book, or "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown. It's an historical chronicle of the destruction of the American Indian. It's difficult to read because it's so shocking and sad, but every American should read it. "Little Big Man" starring Dustin Hoffman gives a much more accurate version of the Battle of the Little Bighorn and of Custer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Release this to DVD now!!!!
A very well done production even though two of the main characters were miscast.
One of the best Custer films made but with many inaccuracies and typical Hollywood foul-ups.
But still, very entertaining.
This needs to be released onto DVD uncut and with the making of the movie A.S.A.P. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Educational Film
First of all, I don't know why some reviewers say this film has Kevin Costner & Graham Greene; it stars James Whitmore, Sam Elliot, & Ned Romero as Chief Joseph. This is an accurate, historical telling of the removal of the Nez Perce tribe to reservation land in 1877. When this peaceful tribe attempts to resist the forced removal by travelling to Canada, they are pursued & eventually captured by the military, led by General Otis Howard--a former friend of Joseph(well-played by James Whitmore). This movie is by no means of Oscar-winning calabre. It's a semi-documentary story of a significant event in American History. It is slow at times. The acting is adequate but by no means just wonderful. As a history teacher, I like this movie & it's story--a good story at that. Also, it was made for TV in 1975--it is dated. Movies today on TV are more violent with all sorts of cursing; this movie does not overdo the violence or cursing at all. It's "good & clean" family fare. I highly recommend it for its true story and respectable portrayal of Native Americans.

5-0 out of 5 stars I will fight no more forever
This is a very interesting movie, with action , alot of Indian speritism. Gram Green dose avery good job. I watched this movie some years ago and is still my favorite.

4-0 out of 5 stars Remember the time in which it was produced
I find it interesting that those who do not live in the area in which this movie takes place, (attention Ireland, I am Irish, but that doesn't mean I can begin to write about your country with any real understanding!)feel the need to bash it so badly. Try to recall that it wasn't all that long ago that we would never have even attempted to look at the Native American side of this issue. If you're looking for Oscar work here, let's get serious. This is a story that needed to be told, of a chief whose tactics are taught at West Point. Yes, it could have been better produced, but it wasn't exactly politically correct at that time, we were still in our infancy as recognizing Native American culture and as a 40 year old anthropology student, I can tell you, there is still much to learn. This movie was made almost 30 years ago and if you look at most movies from that time, they all seem a bit hokey and the Native Americans (and most ethnic groups, including the Irish)are badly portrayed. So stop trying to see the flaws and recognize one of the first films America has made that made the Native Americans out as heroes, not drunken idiots. I recommend this film, show it to your kids and celebrate some American History.

3-0 out of 5 stars Read this before you decide........
It would have been nice if Costner and G.Greene could have worked a bit of their magic on this one. For those who are unfamiliar with the Great Chief Joseph...This would be a good eye opener to that beginning of your education. The acting isn't the best...I hope this movie gets remade.....For "We The People".

1-0 out of 5 stars A pathetic attempt at entertainment
I viewed this film as part of my Washington State History Class. I watched the unfortuneate actors deliver their sad diologue, and could almost see the pain on their face, caused no doubt by the act of uttering such drivel. The diologue is awful, the premise is true, of course, but so poorly scripted and acted out that if I hadn't known better I would have thought this a comedy. The Indian garments of the Nez Perce are ridiculous, and amazingly every one of the Indians speaks fluent English. The portrayel of Cheif Joseph is sad, a sullen James Whitmore speaks slowly, in halting English. He tries to act outraged and\or sad, but looks rather pathetic doing it. This film is quite amatuerish and not worthy of more than a passing glance. Obviously done on a shoestring budget,(which would explain the poor actors and script-writers), "I will Fight no More Forever" is a sad, rather pathetic little picture. I don't advise renting or, God Forbid, buying it. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars entertainment, but no substance
I purchased this movie about 10 years ago soley based on the duo of Kurt Russell and Tim Matheson and their "eye catching appeal". I'm embarrassed to say that I continue to hold onto it for that reason. Matheson portrays a young doctor(Quentin Baudine) and Russell his half-breed half-brother (Morgan(Two Persons)Baudine). On their way to find their sister who has been captured by indians, they decide to take time out to help save an old friend's ranch,(this movie was obviously not well thought out)by rounding up a gang of misfits to drive his herd of cattle to market. Together, the Bodine brothers along with a stableman, retired gunslinger, a dried-out drunk and a couple of sneaky rustlers prove their grit as they fight to stay alive against hostile indians, stampedes, drought, and just plain bad luck! Matheson and Russell are convincing (aside from Russell's bleach-blonde hair), but young and unpolished in this one and since then have gotten better "with age". Keenan Wynn is hysterical, wonderful performance by Gregory Walcott, beyond that the acting isn't impressive and its downright corny at times, but... the movie is action-packed and entertaining and girls--it's worth watching just to feast your eyes on Matheson and Russell, these 2 studs will captivate you! Speaking of STUDS, Erik Estrada is also in this one! It's a keeper! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Filmed Masterpiece
"Windwalker" is without a doubt one of the most wonderfully filmed movie in film history..The Nature scenery is Magical and breathtaking..And being on dvd it more then heightens the exsperiance..Not to take anything away from another great movie "Dances with Wolves" but Windwalker makes Dances with Wolves look amateur like..Windwalker is also along the same kind of line as Dances with Wolves..But Windwalker is entirely filmed with the words spoken in the various American Indians languages..With English Subtitles..Don't worry to follow the Subtitles is very easy for there isn't much spoken word in this movie..So you should have no problems with the subtitles..When this movie came out my girlfriend at the time TarynAngel is Indian (note her family doesn't like the term of politcal correctness of "Native Americans" her and her family say we been Indians for years now all of suddon we are told there is something wrong with the word Indian)..Taryn & I have remained good friends all these years..Her and my Mandy also became best of friends..I hope that amazon.com doesn't mind me asking the reader to pray for the safe return of Taryn (along with 2 other good friends of ours) who are currently in IraQ helping with the animalife crisis..Ok back to the movie WINDWALKER..So i seen this movie with an Indian girl closer then close to my side in the theater..That added to the Magic of this movie..Neither one of us never forgot the overwealming exsperiance of this movie..It is a marvelous America Indian story through the generations..On his Deathbed a Cheyane Warrior named "Windwalker" tells his grandchildren his story..He tells of his life as a young brave..His falling in love and marriage to a very beautiful Indian girl..To them are born twin sons..One is killed along with his Indian Bride..The other twin son is abducted..It is after the death of Windwalker the Great Spirit awakens him to avenge the deaths of his 1 twin son and his Indian Bride..Will he succeed in this mission..Will he find his missing twin son?? Will his Spirit be reunited with his Indian Bride?? Watch this movie and find out..The action is exciting..The plot will hold your interest..This is a adventure story that is truly a CLASSIC a movie that should be more known then what it is..This is a movie that will hold your memory long after you have seen it..It is one of the rare movies that is impossible for the viewer to ever forget..The ending scene all i will say that it takes place on the "other side" is very moving and very touching..We can only be hopeful that we will all be that lucky as Windwalker at the journey's end..It is by far one of the most powerful ending that i/we ever seen..And the way it is filmed is very mystical and very beautiful..When this came out on DVD i had to get it right away..The picture quality is more then fantastic..It would have to be real bad picture to ruin such a film's prescense..But this dvd stays true to the Natural Beauty of the Original Vision..But i was very disappointed with the extras on this dvd..The extras here aren't worth your time and are are an insult being on the same dvd as this great film..Most of the extras don't even have anything to do with the movie at all..The only extras that have anything to do with the movie is the trailors for the film and they are in very poor shape..At least on my dvd i must note that my dvd doesn't say "special edition" like the one pictured here.My dvd says in that spot "family classics" but the picture is the same as one here..A beautiful movie such as this they could have picked a better picture for the case. And no booklet.
But don't let that stop you this is a movie that can't be missed.
I shall end this by saying if you are interested in American Indian Heritage..And if you are a film lover at all you can't afford to miss this Masterpiece..If you are thinking of what film to buy next on dvd make it this one..You won't be disappointed..And you will never forget this film that is truly one of the best made and greatest films to ever grace its prescense upon us..Touches the soul..And can't forget to say that the Indian Girl/Bride of Windwalker is without a doubt one of the most beautiful dark eyed beauty you will ever lay your eyes upon..This movie "Windwalker" is in every sense of the word a CLASSIC both Indian movie Adventure Fantasy Love Story all genres rolled into 1 marvelous magical mystical film Truly a Brightest Blessing to any film fan..

5-0 out of 5 stars memories revisied
what can i say about this movie to do it justice... i was 10 yrs. old when this came out and was able to see this at the theater. it's a wonderful movie, w/ excellent cinematography, and a well written story. the scenery is spectacular too. fans of the recent "crouching tyger..." may like this one as well... not for the story, but due to the fact that this filmed entirely in native american languages. the story itself has no similarity w/ "crouching tyger..." other than that it is brillianly filmed, written and acted. if you want to have an experience, rather than just watching something, buy "the windwalker"... you won't be disappointed... trust me! watching this brings back the memories of a 10 year old movie fan. my one hope is to some day see the release of this on dvd. cheers all!

1-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Movie, VHS TECHNICALLY SUBSTANDARD
Below a copy of my message to Amazon.com re the technical quality of this VHS tape. WINDWALKER is a WONDERFUL movie, but the totally substandard VHS tape sent me is absurd. Based on the jacket, Pacific International Enterprises, Inc., and Sterling Entertainment are involved in the production of the absurdly substandard VHS tape I received. Indeed, as pointed out below, the 'thickness' of the totally rewound tape as one looked at the reel was about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick...I was thinking "that's odd..maybe this is a new technology"; as soon as I attempted to play the movie I found out why...the sound was distorted greatly and the picture blurry like I was looking thru the end of a coke bottle as a lense. TOTALLY SUBSTANDARD for Amazon.com, and most surprised they would carry such BELOW STANDARD merchandise. THIS is my first bad experience with Amazon after years and thousands of dollars of purchases. I am still scratching my head as to how this could happen. Robert A. Fesmire, California.
MESSAGE TO AMAZON.COM COPIED IN BELOW:
I think if you examine my purchase records you will conclude you do not want to lose me as an Amazon.com customer.
YOU WILL (regretfully) however unless you immediately tend my concerns in reference to the above order number.
Specifically, the WINDWALKER VHS tape is a JOKE !!!! 4-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and thoughtful
A visually exquisite film with an interesting story, excellent performances, lush soundtrack and an authentic look which make for a very enjoyable and satisfying viewing experience. However, since it was filmed in Panavision, I do wish it was offered in a widescreen edition, which would be even better.

5-0 out of 5 stars been looking for this for 23 years
I have been looking for this movie for 23 years. I saw it in the theater when I was 17, and have never been able to forget it. I was just telling my husband about it (again, I bring it up evey few years) and I decided to try to look for it again. I am ecstatic that it is now available for purchase. I love anything having to do with Indians but this movie is something that touches your soul. You must see it. You will never see life the same again. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Bad Movie
Ah, days gone by. The days of Cannon films, mindless, loud, ultraviolent, ridiculous 80s action films.

A previous reviewer gave an impressive account of Cannon and the Golan/Globus production duo that gave us classics like Death Wish 3 and Cobra.

Invasion U.S.A. is a great bad movie, period. Chuck Norris, normally an awful actor, looks to be trying really hard not to act at all. Matter of fact, Chuck looks plain creepy, his face completely blank and emotionless. He plays an ex 'government agent'. Turns out there's a planned nighttime invasion of America being cooked up by an evil Russian general, an old nemesis of Norris. There's also some Cubans, and even Arabs from some unnamed country. They invade America one evening, killing Americans easily because we're weak, etc, etc, and they even roll into town to blow up a few suburban family homes with rocket launchers.

Chuck Norris is the only one in America with any real idea of what's going on, so he wearily puts on his twin Uzi straps and sets out to kill the invaders. It's a typical 80s, updated cowboys and Indians flick, dripping with cynicism. Invasion U.S.A. also adheres to an ironclad Golan/Globus rule: the badder the criminal, the worse he has to suffer before dying horribly.

This movie would have scared young children in 1985 into thinking Russia would actually invade and we would be bazookaed in our own homes. But now it reveals itself to be a true masterpiece, a moment of cinema from a bygone era when exploitation, paranoia, fear, violence, and profit were running amok.

The director is Joseph Zito, so you're in good bad genre hands, he having directed The Prowler and Friday the 13th The Final Chapter before. The film makes no sense at all. Like Death Wish 3, for instance, the film deserves a lot of credit for so completely disregarding anything of quality, save for the bullet-riddled violence. Plot, acting, direction, plausibility are all jettisoned in favor of pure gratification of hidden right-wing fantasies.

If you long for the 80s, love bad movies, love Chuck Norris, love Golan/Globus, love moronic guy movies, this is highly recommended

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my greatest guilty pleasures.
When a group of terrorists invade America, only Matt Hunter (Chuck Norris) can stop them. Pretty simple stuff, not an ounce of plot to get in the way of the story, but what a story it is. Invasion U.S.A. was one of the million or so b-movie thrill rides put out by the now, sadly, defunct Cannon Pictures. I was fearful that changing times (and fashions) would date Invasion U.S.A. some, and, to be honest, they have. But it still retains enough of its bad movie charms to entertain in a brainlessly high octane way. Stuffed with enough action for two Cannon Pictures, this is an essential for both Cannon and Chuck Norris fans - though the 'good' movies The Chuckster did for the studio are, in my opinion, the first Missing in Action and The Hero and The Terror. But this is my favorite of the bunch and I give it my highest recommendation.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of Chuck's Best!!!
In summary, terrorist start to take over the states. Chuck takes care of things, so don't worry, Norris IS homeland security. Very rock solid action movie, but a litlle dated by todays standards. Who gives a crap? Much better than his Walker, Texas Ranger days. 4 1/2 Stars.

2-0 out of 5 stars vintage Chuck Norris
One of Chuck Norris's better known movies; TBS has shown this countless times. It doesn't really get better with age though. Not Chuck's best movie but better than several of the real duds like Forced Vengeance and Good Guys Wear Black. It's Chuck against the Russkies who invade his homeland and really tee him off. No real extras on the DVD, just the movie. Action is not really memorable in this movie, and it's pretty unbelievable even for a Chuck movie. But, if you're a Chuck fan, this one is a must because it's got a few classic Chuck one-liners.

4-0 out of 5 stars An Utterly Ridiculous Yet Fun Actioneer
Ah the '80's. Reagen, over-indulgence, superficiality, and of course, the seminal genre that we now know as 1980's action movies. Invasion U.S.A. is everything that an 80's action movie should be: action packed (no matter how ridiculous and moronic the plot lines are), extremely right-wing, and of course, having stone-faced macho men declare war on the entire world. This film lacks in every aspect of a "good" movie (realistic action scenes, drama, good acting, interesting and or thought provoking), yet manages to suceed magnificently on the entertainment scale. One of my favorite scenes in the film are when Chuck Norris takes on the Russian dude in a man to man close combat rocket launcher scene! Also, I must say I was quite intrigued as to how Chuck Norris's ridiculously big truck managed to remain un-scathed through all of the gun battles that occur in this movie.

All in all, Invasion U.S.A. is the perfect movie for a night with a couple of buddies. Don't expect that much, and you'll enjoy this mindless 80's action flick. ... Read more

First of all, I don't know why some reviewers say this film has Kevin Costner & Graham Greene; it stars James Whitmore, Sam Elliot, & Ned Romero as Chief Joseph.

I don't advise renting or, God Forbid, buying it. ...

Distributed by "Pacific International Enterprises, Inc", it is of such poor quality technically (the VHS tape itself fully rewound is about 3/4 inch thick) THAT I COULD NOT WATCH it...it was FAR BELOW the standard that I have come to expect from Amazon.com, as you would see if you attempted to play it yourself. A profound disappointment as I attempted to watch a favorite old movie with anticipation and found that this far substandard trash of a VHS tape was so poor in quality I could not watch it.
Recently you will see I purchased not only numerous books, etc., but also a DSC-P93 Sony camera, accessories, etc....I buy a lot from Amazon.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST MOVIE EVER MADE!!!
I love the movie, it is romance, drama, comedy, all rolled into one. It is a show for everyone! They SHOULD NEVER have cancelled, and they should positively bring it back! I would love to be able to purchase other videos of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. I have never seen some of them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent! Great family entertainment
I consider myself a "new" Dr. Quinn fan even though the show only lives in re-runs. I have always enjoyed Jane Seymour in movies but did not become familiar with the show until it came to my attention through Joe Lando's grandmother, whom I treated as a patient at the hospital I work for. The cast is much different but does not matter because it is important to begin with the story plot of the series. As other have stated in their comments, it was a shame that the show was let go from CBS' line up. But we can still see it on re-run and there are many episodes that I'd still would love to see such as Dr. Quinn's and Sully's wedding episode and the birth of their child. I am glad for Amazon.com to offer such great movies for purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Starter to a Fabulous Series
Dr. Quinn was my favorite TV show and I was really disappointed - and not a little shocked - when it was cancelled. So the next best thing to watching new episodes is to re-watch old episodes! This is a great opener to the series as we see Dr. Michaela Quinn leave her well-to-do life in Boston to go out West to the small town of Colorado Springs to start a new medical practice.

The quality of the video was great and I can't wait to own the first season on DVD! I hope they put all seasons out to own including the movies!

5-0 out of 5 stars GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIMES !!
THIS IS THE GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIMES, I WILL BE LOOKING FORWARD FOR SEASON 1 DVD!!! HOPE YOU CAN ALSO OFFER THE MOVIE REVOLUTIONS!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A SHOW FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
THIS IS AN EXCELLENT SHOW. IT IS TOO BAD THAT CBS TOOK IT OFF.
I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF THE SHOW EVER SINCE IT CAME ON. THE CHARACTERS MAKE SENSE. THEY ARE FUNNY. THE SHOW ALSO MAKES YOU THINK. THROUGH THE SHOW, YOU WILL LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY TIME ABOUT LIFE, LOVE, PEOPLE, OR EVEN YOURSELF. I WOULD RECOMMEND WATCHING THIS VIDEO AND ANY OF THE OTHER DR. QUINN MED. WOMAN VIDEOS. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars All too RARE! This one IS a Journey to Spirit!
Isn't that what you were looking for? Bright Spirits? Beautiful scenery? Fresh Air? Isn't that why we watch movies in the first place? This movie is truly a blessing, not lending itself to the latest fashion fad in music or dress, it stayed true to the sacredness of life, and that sacredness triumphed all the way through, as it does in real life when we keep that sacredness in tact, without over worrying or fearing. It left me with a good feeling to see people concentrating on the important things for once in a movie without a care, and not the usual teenage "Oh I want to lose my virginity and drunk junk." This one has culture and sacredness in tact, and yes it's an ADVENTURE! Not to mention fun! Especially when you consider that when you learn to listen, Miracles DO happen, and happen WELL. ... I don't advise renting or, God Forbid, buying it. ...

It's a keeper! ... Read more
