5-0 out of 5 stars Definately The "SuperStar" of My Collection!!!
You've gotta see this dvd!! It is the GREATEST!!! It stars the hliarious Molly Shannon and Will Ferrel from Saturday Night Live. It is a movie about a geeky and very clumsy Catholic school-girl who has all her life wanted to be a superstar so that she could get a "big fireworks hollywood type kiss". So she trys out for a talent contest at school to try and meet her goal. I don't wanna give anything away, but that's basically what it's about... Anyway, I think it's a GREAT movie. I schedule my time to watch it every night at least 4-5 times a week! It's a MUST-HAVE for ALL comedy lovers!!! Gives you PLENTY of laughs!!! :)

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute, but Cheesy
This movie was cute, yet sickening at the same time. It reminds me of an "attempted" funny version of Never Been Kissed.

The movie is about a geeky schoolgirl who has never "hollywood" kissed a boy. She decides that the only way to kiss a boy is to act like the actors/actresses in the movies.

In the beginning, I thought the movie was hilarious. By the end of the movie, I was pretty disappointed. The type of humor in the movie does not change; there is a weak plot in the movie at best. I will say the kid with the birthmark actually caught me off guard though.

This movie isn't a bad movie if you feel you must see it; however, there are a lot of better movies out there to rent or buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Luv it
I'll admit, this movie is kinda bad. But it's one of those movies, that's really bad and stupid and just so ridiculous...that you love it (Like "A Night at the Roxbury"). I first saw this with my best friend at a sleepover when we were totally high on sugar, soda and ice-cream (the best time to watch this movie, by the way...), and it became an instant sleepover classic.

I suggest this movie for the slightly insane (I'm nuts and I'm proud)

4-0 out of 5 stars This movie was truly funny and uplifting
Like several other reviewers, I found this movie funny and entertaining. It was very light with lots of humor. This is a great movie to watch on a rainy day or when you are feeling down and out needing a picker upper.

Many high school girls dream of one day being superstars and/or fantasizing about that first true romantic kiss. These are some of the things portrayed in the movie with lots of humor.

1-0 out of 5 stars Unwatchable. Disgusting.
This movie had EXTREMELY bad humor, EXTREMELY bad acting, and was seriously insulting. It insulted my religin and kids with mental disabilities. My sister is autistic. This movie is unwatchable- I could hardly bear watching. They tried too hard to be funny, and turned out STUPID. Never watch this. Bad words, bad humor, bad- everything! The sexual jokes were really bad and disgusting. How could this have actully made it to the big screen? And if you think I sound old-ladyish, then I'll just let you know: I'm 13. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Entertains if you don't think too hard about the plot
A generation ago they would have called 'Kate's Addiction' a "drive-in movie." Small cast and budget, large plot holes, a fair amount of titillation without ever really delivering, a lot of good-looking people, and plenty of action. 'Kate's Addiction' won't bore you; just don't think about that pesky script all too hard. Farrah Forke was good at Alex in 'Wings'; she brings a veteran's talent to the victim's role here. Kari Wuhrer is very sexy in a Kim-Cattrall-only-better way as the stalker and would-be lover. In fact, the cast is deadly earnest, and talented enough to handle the material with ease. The only sex scene is just OK; the plot gets more contrived as it unspools but for a while it rocks pretty well. Sex, blood, cold-blooded murder, obsession--all the ingredients of movies that used to pack 'em into the drive ins. If you want a mindless thriller to divert your attention for an hour and a half, you could do worse than 'Kate's Addiction.'

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Too Good
A psychotic woman becomes dangerously jealous when her best friend begins dating a handsome man. She will stop at nothing to keep the two apart, even if it means destroying their relationship or even murdering one of them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Non-thinking fun
If your a fan of the genre or the cast you can do worse then watch this. Kate (kari Wuhrer) hears her only real friend Sara (Farrah Forke) is getting married, since Kate is in love with Sara this is bad news. So Kate heads off to pay her a visit - complete with gun. However being close to Sara only strenthens Kates fixation, so much so that Kate turns to flirtation, lying, even murder, in order to win Sara's love. Sure you know how the movie is going to end but considering the small budget used KA is pretty impressive.

1-0 out of 5 stars Thank God I only rented this one
Where's the button for no stars?

2-0 out of 5 stars Cheesy sexploitation flick.
Every so often, I like to rummage through the minor titles to see if I can find a sleeper. Unfortunately, this one missed the mark. This is a rather cheesy production featuring two attractive actresses in an obvious attempt at sexploitation for commercial gain.

Kate (Kari Wuhrer) is obsessed with Sara (Farrah Forke), her best friend from high school and college. They were going to open a business together in their hometown of New Orleans until Sara went to California and met a guy. So, Kate goes to visit her plotting to break them up. What follows is a twisted tale and lesbian seduction, blackmail and murder, just to name a few of the evils Kate employs to keep Sara close to her.

The writing and direction by Eric Delebarre in his first feature film was second rate. The plot is thin and contrived, stretching credulity repeatedly. This has B movie stamped all over it; poor sound and cinematography and a general low budget look.

The hook here was the lesbian seduction scene where Kate gets Sara stoned and then ravishes her. This was obviously a male fantasy lesbian scene, where Sara is taken by a predator rather than having sex by mutual consent. From that standpoint, most male viewers will likely be disappointed since it shows little more than kissing and groping with everything covered.

The acting was mediocre to poor. Kari Wuhrer lacked subtlety and duplicity as the antagonist. Her body language and sarcastic delivery made her motives so obvious that it was impossible to believe that the other characters wouldn't have noticed sooner. Farrah Forke was better than Wuhrer. She gave a very sincere presentation of her character, albeit overly naïve. Her unaffectedness and spontaneity made the romance scenes with her boyfriend work well. The rest of the acting was mundane.

This film has little to recommend it. I rated it a 3/10. The story was weak and the filmmaking weaker. For viewers looking for sexual stimulation, there are plenty of superior alternatives ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars no no no...only a go for Grieco fans
This movie has a really abstruse storyline, and not in a positive way. You might like to see Mr. Grieco walking around half naked but that is basically it. Even the female blonde in that movie does not seem to be a good choice. It's all a bit awkward.

4-0 out of 5 stars Aquired a likeing for it.
It may not be "Meet Joe Black" or great for an emmy, but it does have a certain mood that I do like it for. Even if you or others may think it is more like a poor B or C mild porn. I did like it for one reason many B movies carry an idea that they could not afford, but they cast the perfect person for this role. He may be a hansome picture for woman but, you couldnt cast brad pitt for this movie. Some how the movie made its point, the style that it was trying to get across wich most of the most expencive movies arent worth much in reaching. If you dont like anything that dosnt match up to "Jurasic Park" than dont bother, go watch "Scream3" or something.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pro-watcher
This movie makes you melt, not to mention it gets the ... ... it's steamy, hot, and sexy. The plot is even better then the eroticism this movie inflicts. It's a must see, despite the low-budget appearance.

2-0 out of 5 stars Richard is on the prowl.
If you are an "I can't get enough of this guys bod!" fan like myself, then this is a must see. He is VERY sexy in this role & it's a thourghly watchable plot (it's been a while sence i saw it but it has something to do with him being geniticly crossed with tomcat genes, he's a catburgler *Ha-Ha* by trade & looking to get down with a female , as tomcats do). But...if you are just wanting to see it for the movie itself, don't bother.

2-0 out of 5 stars Look what the cat dragged in!
Lonesome and frustrated wallflower Maryam D'Abo (hipergorgeous as usual) is some sorta female Dr Frankenstein who makes a tomcat out of a gym rat (Grieco) in order to have a lover.

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? Then this your kinda picture. Me, I prefer my sci-fi with a little common sense!

Nevertheless, don't miss the first scenes! ... Read more

The life of the great American showman is entertainingly chronicled in this dramatized biography starring Beau Bridges. While this made-for-TV movieisn't terribly ambitious, it does provide a credible look at how Barnum came to find that his calling in life was to dazzle people with things they could scarcely believe, all the time making sure that they paid handsomely to be "humbugged."As an ambitious youth at a time when America was enjoying explosive growth, Barnum's burgeoning career took off when he bought what was essentially a museum of freaks and frauds. As charmingly portrayed by Bridges, Barnum was a bundle of energy who instinctively knew what people wanted, and he unfailingly turned his acts, such as the famed midget Tom Thumb or the great soprano Jenny Lind, into national obsessions. This film captures the varied facets of Barnum's personality, from a natural playfulness that inspired his fantastic publicity stunts to a shrewd sense of business that could made him one of the wealthiest Americans of his time. And as Barnum was something of an emblematic American, this story of his life not only portrays a unique personality, but evokes the exuberant and growing American nation.--Robert J. McNamara ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Synapse: Mildly Interesting Mess
SYNAPSE is the kind of film that is really a compilation of other films. Director Allan Goldstein presents a dystopian future that is run by a military-industrial-technological conglomerate known as Life Force. In this society, only Life Force seems to run things. Whatever other form of ruling power there is seems nowhere to be found. The minimal plot is a pastiche of BLADE RUNNER, 1984, and just about every science fiction movie that places a clique of mad scientists attempting to control the world. Heading Life Force is a clearly decrepit Barry Morse, who seems light years away from the strong law and order police detective who spent four years trying to capture Richard Kimble back in the 1960s television hit, THE FUGITIVE. Here is he a doddering megalomaniac who drools his lines as he seeks to use his company to place his evil brain into a strong and youthful body. Opposing him is the lovely Karen Duffy, who plays a woman (Celeste) who has a man's brain placed in her head, thereby guaranteeing gender confusion for all.

My primary objection to SYNAPSE is that director Goldstein chose to ignore the fertile ground of a dystopic society that would permit such a monstrous conglomerate as Life Force to exist. Instead, he presents a standard shoot-em-up with predictable numbers of Nazi-looking black uniformed troopers to shoot at the hero or in turn get shot by her. Whenever a movie purports to show a twisted road that society may take in the future, I ask myself: Do I care about the fate of the lead after the last shot has been fired? With Max in THE ROAD WARRIOR I did. With Celeste in SYNAPSE, I did not. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars "Sounds like a bad action movie."
The plot for this movie is actually quite good, a microbiochemical weapon accidently created and released on the world is captured and is being brought back from Russia, but the Russians are trying to recapture it and release it on the major cities of the world and it is up to our "hero" to stop them before it happens. What ruins this great movie is the very bad acting. When asked if he knew about Agent Red, Dolph's character said it best, "Sounds like a bad action movie," and it is. From LT. Christian being seriously out of uniform to the underlying "love story", this movie just reeks. The only good thing I saw in this movie was Randolph Mantooth. His small part made up for the movie in my opinion. So unless you're a big Mantooth fan, this movie is a waste of money.

1-0 out of 5 stars You've got to be kidding -- AVOID THIS MOVIE!
This movie was so bad (How Bad Was It?) that I turned it off after about 25 minutes. This is only the second time in my life I stopped watching a movie because it was so poorly done. DO NOT RENT OR BUY THIS MOVIE!

2-0 out of 5 stars I can't get anyone to watch this with me.
I bought this movie previously viewed for 2 bucks, if that tells you about the quality. It looks and sounds like it will be the worst movie I own, and after I read the other reviews, I am looking forward to watching it...If I can get myself inebriated enough. So far after 5 weekends, my friends and I haven't been able to get up the courage to watch this past the previews yet.
If we do this weekend finally, and it is actually good(???) then I will come back on here and post a RAVE REVIEW. If not, this review will stand.
Best Movie of the Day (when I didn't watch any other movies)
-raves Erik of Longview.

1-0 out of 5 stars Agent Dread!
This movie is so bad, it barely deserves mention. However, I am a big DL fan, and I am writing this in the hope that Dolph will not abandon his fans---he may be making movies like this just for the $$, but, I believe, he is also doing irreparable damage to his career.

1-0 out of 5 stars Just when you think Dolph can't get sink any lower..........
I will be honest I like Dolph Lundgren.........a look at his filmography you see B.movie classics such as "The Punisher",Universal Soldier" and "Blackjack" Dolph has been going trough a slump.........Storm Catcher and the startlingly routine Jill The Ripper and the awful Minion(AKA Fallen Knight) but with Agent Red Dolph Lundgren hits rock bottom. Agent Red first of all steals it's music from Predator 2......and it's plot from Counter Measures,Oh I'm not finished yet. It steals footage from Storm Catcher!!!!!!!!! The scene where Jon Penner steals the air craft while posing as Dolph Lundgren..........Now Penner is 5'11 Dolph Lundgren is 6'5 for goodness sake! yet they try to pass it off as Dolph Lundgren as the soldier stealing the aircraft for part of a mission.....This scene made me wanna throw up but I hung in there.....It turns out more footage is stolen.......I swear I saw footage from Iron Eagle and Iron Eagle II.......I saw footage from Crimson Tide and I saw footage from Counter Measures........What the heck was Dolph thinking when he signed for this junk? I have no idea. When I was a teen (When Showdown In Little Tokyo came out) I thought Dolph Lundgren couldn't sink lower then Showdown In Little Tokyo,Then when I saw The Minion I was almost sure Dolph couldn't do worse........Well I pray he can't do any worse because Agent Red is one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life..........This is coming from a guy who likes Don The Dragon Wilson. Bottomline:On Agent Red's cover it says "Once exposed you cannot survive" Take this as a warning. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars such a wonderful film
Another great movie that I stumbled upon. I cannot believe that there was not more written about this one. The beautiful Neve Campbell delivers a remarkable performance and Jeremy Irons along with Cissy Spacek ensure that you will be taken on a highly interesting ride.

Jeremy Irons - arguably the best living actor - truly becomes "Scott" in this harrowing display of creative downward spirals with momentary glimpses of genius.

Instead of glorifying or overly romanticizing the subject, the director paints a picture of the subtle and not-so-subtle relationship dynamics among the characters; particularly the struggles of Fitzgerald and his lovely, devoted and talented assistant.

This is one of those rare finds in the world of movies that falls under the radar but once discovered, becomes a treasure to the viewer.

Very nicely done. ... Read more

The sexual jokes were really bad and disgusting. How could this have actully made it to the big screen? And if you think I sound old-ladyish, then I'll just let you know: I'm 13. ...

Bottomline:On Agent Red's cover it says "Once exposed you cannot survive" Take this as a warning. ... Read more
