3-0 out of 5 stars cute video for the kids
This one has the same normal kid as in the first one but now with a supernatural twist about two magic rings that each give the wearer special fighting powers. When our hero gets the first ring baddies came after him from everywhere. There are some corny lines like when at the end he is fighting the god like man with both rings and show how he can shoot bolts of lightning that make cars explode and his freinds tell everyone around them not to use their guns because the powerless little boy needs the pride of killing a deity all by himself, there by putting hostages at risk. Leave it to the power ranger fans unless you're desperate for fight scenes ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Loads of fun, an awful movie that one should see
I have a feeling that the producers made this movie hoping that the audience would be making fun of it while whatching, in which case it is very entertaining. the fight scenes get gradually better as the movie moves along with the first fights being slower and lousier and the ending fights being really awesome.

this movie stars one of wrestlings great superstars "The Ultomate Warrior" now known as Jim Hellwig. Dispite his gargantuan muscles he is a long way off from a martial artist. this come from pro wrestling where an athlete must telegraph to 10,000 people at a time and everyone must know whats happening as opposed to martial arts where faster is better, an inabilaty to identify each move is an advantage. though the mixture of the pro wrestling style and Gary daniels's (fist of the north star/bloodmoon) martial arts style makes a unique flavor.

This movie has a plot that only children could really love. a police officer argues with his wife three times in the movie about how he needs to finish his assighnment even though he wants to spend time with his wife and child. yet when his wife is killed before he even finds out he becomes romantically involved with a prostitute and his child simply becomes irrelivent and phases out of reality as the movie credits roll.

this is cool if you watch it with freinds or if you really love fight scenes. I am glad I bought this movie but I wouldnt give it any compliments past the fight and training scenes. one last comment, this movie contains the only fight scene I have ever seen in my life where nunchucku are used correctly.

2-0 out of 5 stars Firepower makes Daniels lose his his head
I watched Firepower because I admire Gary Daniels as an actor. He has delivered great films throughout his career, but Chad McQueen, in my opinion, didn't deserve the lead role in the movie. Daniels as Sledge loses his head in a classic Death Ring fight to former wrestling superstar The Ultimate Warrior. Then, McQueen's character finds his foes has killed his wife. Since McQueen has already been flirting around with another woman, he must fight to get her back. Where is the common sense in this film? McQueen has a family and he's messing around, while the guy with no family, Daniels, loses his head after volunteering to go undercover in the hellzone. This futuristic movie has no direction and in the beginning a zebra painted older model Camaro is described as a blue 1998 Chevy. Also, the Chevy vans modeled as the futuristic police cars were also hilarious in futuristic terms. The only two things that I observed as doing justice for the film were the futuristic tank-like bus and the police motorcycles with gadgets. In my opinion, leave the future-based movies alone, most are chaotic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Firepower the greatest death ring movie of all time
Firepower is one of the best films in it's genre. This is a movie that has very little plot but is huge on action. It is one of the best "Deathring" movies of all time... The hellzone is certainly a highlight as well as the "futuristic cop car" aka the chevy lumina van... ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars GARY AND THE HAIR CLUB
I found this in Virgin Megastore's "clearance" section and believed I had gottten a deal. Wrong!

That's kung fu actor Gary Daniels on the cover giving it his standard petulant macho So what? stare, looking like the little boy lost version of Clint Eastwood. But throughout the film he's got Fabio's golden tresses marcelled with Louis XV curls that drift before his eyes and flutter hither tither (whether in action or still)--reminded me of the coiff reserved only for abused good girls in movies by flesh merchant Andy Sidaris. Credit the production company's hairdresser for providing some, if annoying, distraction from this sad bad movie.

In a kung fu movie the story and acting are less important. "Full Impact" is true to form with its second rate story and third rate acting. Acting? All the women are good looking and well-built--after all, the movie is set in LA. Except for Gary Daniels the male actors could have been drinking buddies (one actor playing a nerd in this movie reprises his role, but with 'ludes, in "Cold Harvest") of the producer and I bet the guy who plays the police captain is someone's brother-in-law--he demonstrates just how difficult it can be to read a line before a camera. When he, as police captain in his own office, yells "Quiet. Quiet" no one responds, but maybe they forgot he is playing the commanding officer. The director and co-producer of "Full Impact", Jimmy Huey, can learn a lot from Andy Sidaris who knows how to package a film with challenged acting and potted script--he concentrates on production value and the fleshy aspects of his best-looking mannekins.

But a good kung fu movie delivers fast-paced, balletic or gymnastic action. "Full Impact" fails there too despite, incredibly, being choreographed by Gary Daniels himself. The fights look pre-WWF when fans of the 3 Stooges could have defended themselves with the semifore hand-to-nose maneuver. The final drag-out fisticuffs required that Gary be bested 6 times so that the bad guy could run away to another cheap set (actually a parking lot and then different areas of a warehouse) and most of this happened after the bad guy had been hit hard by Gary--not with his fist, but with an old car! And that is another problem with the fighting. Gary has got this guy completely outclassed, but has to use a car and a torch when the bad guy is limited to using his hands. Maybe Gary forgot the Bruce Lee code. Maybe it was Gary's way of demonstrating how pissed off he was. Maybe he is the opposite of Samson--this part of the story having been cut by the inept editor Steve Austin--that the longer Gary's hair grows the weaker he is.

Low production values added to the drudgery. Not only was the DVD grainy as a videotape, but in a one scene the set swayed unintentionally behind the actors (camera looked handheld while walking). Perhaps "Full Impact" was produced for sale to hotels for their adult channels. I read that the major hotel chains are the biggest purveyors of adult movies and that the average viewing time is 15 minutes. I am not sure which I regret more: having spent $5 to buy the movie or having spent more than 15 minutes watching it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Amateur Hour Extreme
This is perhaps the most amateurish movie I've ever seen. It's so ridiculously bad, that I had a hard time believing it was released on DVD. Horrible sound, bad acting, stupid story lines.......no redeeming fun at all. As far as being a kids film....it's too lame for that. Stupidity does not mean kids will like it. Stay away!

2-0 out of 5 stars Martials arts cult film not to be missed.
When I visited the set of this production way back in 1993, it was entitled SKATE DRAGONS and was being photographed and directed by Donald G. Jackson (RETURN TO FROGTOWN, ROLLER BLADE WARRIORS). Looks like another director took over mid-way,but the visuals directed by Jackson are his cool style. He even left them with Robert Z'Dar who's appeared in many of Jackson's new movies. Check this out to see what might have been. -Writing from the CyberPhrog Cafe in North Hollywood, OneShotSam ... Read more
