The movie itself was brought to the viewer from a different angle than any other drug related movie I had ever seen. I thought that it was all right and that it expressed the story that they were wanting to tell. You could imagine the situation being a farmer in a small area and really not making a living. So when some of the farmers turned to producing drugs to get by, you see how eventhough it wasn't a legal thing to do they felt that they had very little options left. In conclusion if you are interested in a story about another aspect of drugs in America, this movie is for you. If you want to see this movie only because James Van Der Beek is in it, I would probably pass on this one. I am not saying that his performance was bad, but he really didn't have a large enough part for a JVDB fan only to see this movie. If you are looking for more Dawson, this is not the place to find him. Then again if your not looking for Dawson, maybe you can find a different side of James Van Der Beek in the movie "Cash Crop." ... Read more | |

"Drive Me Crazy" doesn't seem to know where it wants to go as a story either (did Hart write the movie too?). It meanders about, seemingly with no direction or purpose. Is it going to be a satirical commentary on high school life? Is it going to address the disappointments a young person faces when an absentee parent turns out to be a total flake? Is it going to address the turmoil a young person feels when a loved one passes away? WHAT?! It doesn't have to serve any purpose other than to be a fun teen flick, but it should at least do that well. The only redeeming quality of this movie is co-star Adrian Grenier. He appears to be the only cast member who actually possesses any talent. If you want to watch a movie that shows the struggle between cliques and and the social strata that is high school (and won't lead your brain cells to atrophy), you'd be far better off renting or purchasing "Clueless", "Sixteen Candles", or "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion".

Amazon.com The film also concerns the high price of being different on many fronts. Not only is Danes's young heroine dissimilar to her friends because she'sJewish, she's also intense, keenly intelligent, and a poetry lover. When shefalls for a callow stud at school who worries about the opinion of hisidiotic friends, she feels for the first time the pain of being rejected forbeing who she is. Moreau is magnificent as the lifelong survivor who knowswhen to give her granddaughter refuge and when to push her into the real worldto find her own footing. Danes's performance reads like a map of increasinglyexciting things to come in her career; there are moments in this film whenyou look at her and can see the consummate actress in her future. --TomKeogh Reviews (25)
I'd suggest it to anyone who is a fan of Claire Danes or Jude Law. Or just a good movie.
