Description

Billy Crudup (ALMOST FAMOUS, JESUS' SON) heats up the screen as Eddie, a handsome twenty-something who was just been released from prison. Completely broke, Eddie shows up on the doorstep of his older brother Terry (Paul Shulze, LAWS OF GRAVITY) and his wife Janey (Adrienne Shelly, TRUST) where he is lovingly taken into their family. When Eddie switches to the night shift, he finds himself spending his days with Janey. They soon discover that they yearn for something other than the monotony that characterizes their lives. Realizing their lives have been irrevocably altered and forced to face the situation, the three find themselves in a final, shattering confrontation. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars okay movie, great performances
The movie's more like 2 and a half but I gave it the benefit of being rounded up. The movie is about a drifter who has an affair with his brother's neglected wife. The plot's been done before but the performances here are great and are what make the movie. Until this movie I had seen two Adrienne Shelly movies, Trust and The Unbelievable Truth. I could tell Adrienne had something but suffered under Hal Hartley's stagey direction. In Grind, she was finally allowed to become the character and show what an actress she could be. Billy Crudup and the the guy who plays Terry as well. They become the characters and I also like fact that the people in this movie are believable, realistic.
Shelly is still in her late thirties and I hope that Hollywood gives her "the role".

3-0 out of 5 stars Decent Little Movie
Billy Crudup plays a screw-up who comes back to town and wreaks havoc in the lives of his brother and his sister-in-law. Adrienne Shelly plays the wife, and there is real chemistry between Crudup and Shelly, and the resolution of the conflict between the brothers is very believable. The movie is very quiet and it has a way of speaking volumes without having much said on the screen. This is a low-budget film that relies on characters to drive the story instead of quirky personality traits. You won't be disappointed if you like character-driven drama. The only quibble is why the handsome Billy Crudup insists on playing roles where he is perpetually unkempt.

4-0 out of 5 stars Early glimpse of a major talent
GRIND is a small, oddly affecting indie film which escapes its soap opera plotting and ends up an overlooked gem. The story concerns two brothers, the older a stable, married father-to-be, the other a n'er do well just released from prison. Though lovingly taken into the older brother's home, the 'bad' brother just can't seem to escape trouble with desperate characters, not to mention his passionate affair with the brother's confused wife. The movie takes some harrowing turns and is very tasteful with the sexual interludes, allowing some fine character development and a surprising and satisfying conclusion. Indie film vet Adrienne Shelley adds another fine performance to her growing resume of odd films, but the real star is the New York stage actor Billy Crudup (later to be seen in INVENTING THE ABBOTTS and SLEEPERS). With his expressions alternately menacing and innocent and a keen sense of his own power over the camera, this young actor is ready to take off into the stratosphere, not as a patented pretty boy, but as a deeply affecting dramatic talent. GRIND is a fine welcome for him, and for us--keep watching. END ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars These Women Are Out Of This World!
Three Venusians, played by J.J. North (Attack Of The 60 Foot Centerfold), Theresa Lynn (Private Parts), and Leslie Glass (Strip Search), come to our planet in search of Earth men. Their mission is to stimulate men and, at the height of arousal, put a device on their head which drains the men of all their bodily fluids. The resulting liquid is used on their planet as a narcotic. The most enjoyable scenes in this movie are when these three gorgeous gals, always dressed to kill and usually going topless, whip the men into a sexual frenzy. The saddest scene is seeing Charlie Callas playing the bartender. His schtick is almost as old as he looks, and he looks REALLY old. Leon Head plays Detective Oakenshield as an English version of Inspector Clouseau. Uncoordinated and unorthodox, he stumbles upon the solution to the murders. Unfortunately for him, his new girlfriend, played by Michelle Bauer (Bikini Drive-In), also turns out to be a Venusian. Fortunately for him, his partner on the police force is really an intergalactic bounty hunter. I have to deduct one star from this movie because of its abrupt ending. The closing credits end with the tease, watch for "Vampire Vixens II: Oakenshield On Venus." Sadly, this sequel has yet to materialize.

1-0 out of 5 stars Vampire Vixens from Venus
VAMPIRE VIXENS FROM VENUS is an absolutly reprehensible movie. It has no redeeming qualities what-so-ever. From the (unbelievably) lame jokes, to the endless, pointless nudity, Vampire Vixens From Venus is absolutly terrible. There's not much else to say! It's just plain awful!

1-0 out of 5 stars I See The Vixens, Where Are The Vampires?
I picked up this movie from Amazon a while ago. I was in the mood to see what b movie actress Michelle Bauer had been up to. Unfortunately I picked this thing up.

The basic story goes...there are these aliens that have come to earth to harvest a drug that is illegal in space as well. Human males produce this stuff at the height of extacsy, at which time the aliens (beautifully portrayed by three vixens one being JJ North) suck this stuff out of the men leaving them like raisins.

Some funny moments in this movie but the detective's slapstick and stupid humour really made this movie stink. Michelle Bauer isn't the star I thought she was in this movie, but she does have an okay role as well.

This is a campy teen T & A movie with a very annoying detective in it. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars only the first five minutes
This movie was dumb;REALLY DUMB!The only part worth watching is the first five minutes where the brunette bombshell is riding that stupid news anchor guy...........other than that,it [was bad].If you're going to buy this movie, don't pay [too much] or you'll hate yourself.

3-0 out of 5 stars More than Meets the Eye
The Film Broadcast Bombshells contains some very funny moments, equal to anything Mel Brooks has produced in years. Under the guise of a T&A film, Bombshells presents funny Dominatrix bits, news parodies and a hilliarious send up of a local telethon featuring a trenchent E.S.T/Tony Robbins self help guru who promisses to change people's lives with just three little words. Wrapped in the technical limitations of your standard T&A faire one has to look beyond the film's limitations to find a very funny, creative and unique idea. END ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars The service is lacking here
Amy Lynn Baxter stars as Judy, a former actress trying to run a struggling vegan eatery. Needing a substantial amount of money to keep the landlord from shutting her down, Judy's cousin gets her to enlist the aid of Marilyn Chambers (who Judy worked with in other movies), to try and turn things around.

While I love both B-flicks & Amy Lynn, this movie was difficult to watch. The acting is harsh, even by B-flick standards and the jokes either don't make sense or just aren't funny. (Like Judy's cousin purposely sabotaging the food orders. Why?) The nude scenes are decent but you will find your attention wandering soon after they're over.

Unless you're a real big Amy Lynn or Marilyn fan, pass on this.

4-0 out of 5 stars IT'S ALWAYS NICE TO SEE MARYLIN I SUPPOSE
One of Marylin Chambers attempts to break into the mainstream market.Although it's always good to see her, this is a very lame efort. Probably made a few years before her big comeback porn film "Still Insatiable." The latter film is much better in all respects (acting, production value, plot, etc.)

2-0 out of 5 stars Okay
THis movie was okay, but a little too disgusting. THe woman that wanted them to close the place down was so funny! She walked around outside screaming: WE WANT CLOTHES...WHERE Do WE WANT THEM? ON OUR WIATRESSESS! iT was funny but the movie has to much sexual involvement!

1-0 out of 5 stars Little T No A. Worst T/A movie I've ever seen.
Please, please don't buy this video. If you're the type that slows down to watch an accident scene and cannot contain your curiosity, rent it.

Its a big tease about 3 waitresses and their artificially endowed assets. And that too for less than 10% of the movie. I watched it for 15 min and fast forwarded for the next 30. I couldn't take it after that. Your neighborhood beach is probably more erotic. The worst Playboy movie is better than this.

And the digital transfer to DVD! Really bad!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but expensive
The clothing change scenes featuring nudity are unnecessary and do not forward the plot. The ladies are beautiful but it's price is a bit too high for what you are getting. ... Read more
