Lots of fun!
This movie pokes fun at Negrete's celebritity status. The GREAT singer, Jorge Negrete has disappeared! A cowboy, a Negrete look-alike (played in a dual role by Negrete) shows up at this time at an isolated Rancho and is mistaken for the singer. Of course, the rancher's beautiful daughter falls for the cowboy, thinking that he is really Negrete in disguise.
Negrete is wonderful in this movie. It is not a difficult movie to follow and even those with limited Spanish will be able to enjoy it. One of my favorites.

Hilarious Dual Role

Nothing new here
This DVD was something of a disappointment. Apart from an IDENTICAL opening and closing musical tribute to Negrete, and a short look at his funeral procession, this DVD was little more than rather grainy clips from Negrete's many movies.

I had hoped to see footage of Negrete away from the movies - clips of him in the studio or at home. I had hoped that some of the actors/actresses who worked with him would be interviewed. I had hoped to see Negrete himself being interviewed about his life or work. But none of these hopes were met.

The Importance of Being Paco
Lots of music, romance and laughter in this Mexican-style interpretation of Oscar Wilde's "Importance of Being Ernest". Jorge Negrete and Luis Aguilar are two friends, both falsely claiming to be named "Paco". One lie leads to another and the confusion and mix-ups are non-stop. A funny and enjoyable movie!

Hilarious!

A great love story
This is a wonderful film set in early 1800's Mexico, it is a love story between a man and a Woman of diffrent social classes and the obstacles that impede them from being together.It is a wonderful film with a great cast, which includes Jorge Negrete, Sara Garcia and Domingo Soler,It is a beautiful film that is considered to be a classic in Mexican cinema and one of director Julio Bracho's best films and deserves to be seen by all.

I love Zarzuela!!
I saw this picture many years ago and i want to have it, but i have a problem because i live in Europe, so i would like to know if you have it in PAL system or just in NTSC.

I would appreciate if you can tell what pictures do you have edited in PAL system of my favorite artist Jorge Negrete. Also, i want to know if yoou have the picture: "Teatro Apolo".
