2-0 out of 5 stars Matheson keeps this one alive
Sheedy is the victim here and Matheson from the first one talks to her but then in the middle I think around there, Matheson dies in a grave and then Sheedy's husband trys to kill her but then it ends up being him who she kills along with his woman hes seeing on the side. the first is better is all I have to say.

4-0 out of 5 stars Dont ya hate the cover
makes it look like a horror movie or something. Its a great movie. Woman get buried alive by her husband because he wants out of the marriage but he wouldnt get anything out of it. hes cheating on her. he figures if his wife dies then he gets the money and so he has her buried alive saying to embalm her twice to see that shes dead which obviously doesnt happen because the movie is called "buried alive" and not "embalmed alive". well wifey wakes up and comes back to give her boy what he deserves. great movie. i woulda watched it sooner but the movie was put out to be a horror when actually its not.. its kind of a drama suspense thing. not even much violence really..

3-0 out of 5 stars Coincidences Lead The Way To Death.
'Buried Alive' is not a movie about zombies. In fact it holds a degree of realism. It's about a woman, who gets poisoned by her husband and buried in the cemetary when she's still alive. Of course, people don't know this. Her husband's motive is to get the money she received as heritage and move away with his mistress. To ensure that she doesn't get out of the graveyard, he asks that his wife is mummified twice. However, things don't work out as they should; and she's put into the coffin without being mummified at all. With a few more coincidences, she will make her way out somehow; and, it will be her revenge when she arrives home and sees her husband with his mistress.

If you're seeking for a movie at nighttime with your friends, and you want it to be a little scary, 'Buried Alive 2' is not a bad choice at all. However, you have to keep in mind that the movie is not very long.

5-0 out of 5 stars an amazing movie
Don't be fooled by this movie's virtually unknown status. It is amazing. The plot is stunning, and it leaves you with an awesome sense of good & evil. I have not seen the first one, and you definitely don't need to to understand everything that goes on. This movie also strikes me as an allegory of sorts. The wife is an almost Messianic figure, and the final scene pictures hell better than any other movie I have ever scene. The ending will send chills up and down your spine.

Truly a remarkable film.

3-0 out of 5 stars This was more funny rather than suspensful
This is the sequel to the first. I won't give away too much, but Tim Matheson's character comes back and finds the sheriff passed away and the sheriff's niece(his only surviving relative) who's an old friend of Tim's character. She's in a partly loveless marriage. She wants to make it work and her husband doesn't.Tim warns her if the marriage isn't working to get out of it. She doesn't listen. She get's what Tim got in the first movie and comes back for her revenge. There is more involvement in the goings on of the town and the revenge moves almost exactly like in the first Buried Alive and there are a lot of funny moments with the husband and his mistress.I still like the first one better. ... Tom Selleck shows a harder side of his persona as a disillusioned Confederate who returns home in the waning days of the Civil War in this adaptation of the Elmore Leonard novel. His wife, Suzy Amis, isn't ready to forgive him for leaving his family behind for the "adventure" of war, and his children hardly remember him. Haunted by his actions in the war and caught in a power struggle in the Arizona territory, Selleck's soul-scarred survivor makes a last stand to protect the only thing left that matters to him--his homestead and his family. The film has its share of gunfights, showdowns, conspiracies, and Civil War rivalries, and even a runaway stagecoach, but its power lies in the somber exploration of how misunderstandings and conflicts tear at a marriage during such a volatile time, when ideals are set against duty to family. Director Dick Lowry's lean style makes the most of the gorgeous landscapes, and he creates a strong dramatic tension in the bubbling undercurrent between Selleck, who leaves behind the jovial character of his Louis L'Amour Westerns for a man hardened and embittered by war, and Amis, an excellent actress who brings to life a woman who shoots, speaks her mind, and harbors resentment just as well as any brooding male hero. Keith and David Carradine costar as Union wranglers who hold a grudge against the Confederate veteran. One of the most mature TV Westerns ever made. --Sean Axmaker ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Westerns Made
I must say, this is one of my favorite Westerns of all time. Sort of like "Shane", it is full of emotion, and mood. When Cable comes home from the "Struggle", his wife is still resentful of his leaving her and the children, even though they had heard he had been killed. I love Harry Cary Jr's line, "Well I'll Bow" when he sees Cable riding up. And Cable's comment to his wife, I don't want to live with someone that doesn't like me, "I'll take you back to Texas if you want". Their struggle with their relationship, and the local Union Sympathizers is a great tale. I recommend this movie to all. Very true to life. Good Acting, Great Story.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tom Selleck is the next John Wayne!
And I do not say that lightly. This is a one of his finest works. One I prefer over Monte Walsh ( 4 stars ). This is a gritty movie without all of the Hollywood enhancements. Coming back from the war, Cable finds himself disillusioned with the Confederacy cause, but ready to start his life fresh. But he finds it's not easy to start where he left off, due to Union loyalist and Confederate sympathizers. His primary problem comes from his own wife, who has her own issue with him leaving the family to go off to war and has yet to forgive him. This is a keeper. I hope Tom keeps up the great work!

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't Wait for the DVD!
The television Westerns starring Tom Selleck are among the best of the genre. I think of them all, Last Stand at Saber River is my favorite. It's a great if simple story, but one so well done you can't help but enjoy the film. Selleck is superb as a cowboy and I hope he and the TNT network continue to team for more. The period accuracy is excellent, the variety of arms refreshing for any gun enthusiast. A wholehearted thumbs-up for Last Stand at Saber River!

5-0 out of 5 stars Selleck rules the modern western
After reviewing Last Stand this week, and having thoroughly enjoyed Monte Walsh, I think Tom Selleck is the cowboy star of
the 21st Century. I mostly appreciate his attention to detail
in arms and cowboy gear of the period. Along with the great story
line and characters, this attention to detail is much appreciated
by a fan and student of the Old West and Old Western.
Hope for more from Mr. Selleck in the future.
P.S. If you read this, Tom, I'd give my eyeteeth to be an extra in one of your films

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Western
Tom Selleck does an excellent job as a disillusioned civil war veteran determined to bring his family back together on their own land after he is wounded in the war. This is a western as westerns were meant to be made, not the Young Guns type of violence laden shootfest. If you are Western fan that enjoyed Alan Ladd, Jimmy Stewart, Glenn Ford, Gary Cooper or John Wayne, this is a Western you will enjoy. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars An exciting movie from start to end.
This movie is so interesting. It keeps you on suspense the whole time. A good movie from the nearly past and to see the begining of Kari Wuhrer filmography.

4-0 out of 5 stars Paranormal B movie at it's best
Sex, lies, sex, mystical powers, sex dreams and a murder mystery to boot!

This erotic thriller stars Kari Wuhrer, who is a young student with the ability to pick up 'sensations' of objects about they're owners. Eric Roberts is a college professor who wants to study her gift.

What he's failed to mention is that these objects belong to a dead student, and he is suspect number one... By the time Kari finds this out she's sucked in too deep to walk away, haunted by erotic dreams, and a need to help the dead girl who is taking over her life. But does Eric want to help her, or silence her?

OK, the sting in the tale isn't to hard to guess, but Sensation is still an enjoyable movie.

4-0 out of 5 stars A must-see for Eric Roberts fans!
When I first saw this on cable TV, I was blown away! For suspense lovers, there is plenty of mystery and unsuspected turns to keep you guessing. For Eric Roberts lovers, there are some really great screen shots of the actor... especially the fantasy/day-dream sequences which are done in blue-tint and slow motion. Steamy, steamy! Very erotic, but not distasteful. You'll love it.

4-0 out of 5 stars i thought that it was very erotic
this is a must see movie.eric roberts plays a collage professor thaught to have killed a student he slept with.the movie is full of suspense and has a twist at the end that will keep you guessing. i hope that you enjoy this as much as i did. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars jazz in the 80s
It was a little too kenny g-ish and impotent. A sign of the times, I suppose. The party was definitely, to me, a poor climax. I would have expected a more impromptu gathering where the players played, and there was a bit more wildness. As is, the movie is, as Goldblum explains to his about to depart wife, an affirmation, that "we're hip." And in that sense, it's a bit lame. Goldblum and Whitaker were both excellent, perhaps the best acting I've ever seen from either of them. They carry the movie beyond the somewhat one-dimensional dialogue (yeah, and we'll play!) and music that was okay, but not as good as the music in Mo Better Blues, another movie about a trumpeter. The scene when Goldblum's wife is supposed to be singing?? Trash. In fact, the wife more often than not, annoys me. But the scenes showing the two leads playing their instruments are great. Furhtermore, Forrest Whitaker had the talent, throughout the movie, to actually take the film "to the end."

5-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable comedy / drama with New York ambiance.
This movie has some great comedy lines, as well as thought-provoking drama. It focuses on the relationships of Al and Buddy, two musicians, and Al's wife. I've watched it many times; every time I watch it, I get something new out of it. Highly recommended for anyone who likes comedy, music, New York, or movies about relationships.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a "must" for anyone who plays &/or loves jazz music!
"Lush Life" is an outstanding and very "hip" portrayal of two jazz musicians making a living in the New York scene. Buddy and Al set the tone for the movie from the opening scene with a confident, but arrogant, statement of their musical abilities.

Anyone who has performed or hung out with musicians will definitely relate to Buddy and Al on a much higher level. Many times I found myself saying, "Yeah, I've been there!" throughout their hilarious and crazy musical quips and trips. Mr. Goldblum and Mr. Whitaker also do one of the best acting jobs "faking it" on their respective musical instruments (tenor sax and trumpet).

However, the movie takes on the dark side of the mortality issue with the realization that if you cannot do what you are the best at and love the most, then there is no reason for living. The ending takes on a very surrealistic edge.

The musical score (by Lennie Niehaus)is terrific! I just wish the credits listed the song titles and that there was a soundtrack.

If you love jazz music and musicians - buy this video!!! If you ARE a musician - buy this video!!! You won't regret it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful muscial score!
I loved this movie! I just wonder why Showtime didn't have the sense to make the movie soundtrack available on CD! Maybe the will take a hint.

5-0 out of 5 stars I want to share this movie with the whole world.
Lush Life is simply the best Jazz-driven movie ever made. Everytime I see it I fall for its half hyper-realistic, half musical fantasy mode. Forest Whitaker and Jeff Goldblum have amazing chemestry, and the relationship between Goldblum and Kathy Baker is brilliant. I wish that the soundtrack was available. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Beginning of VR5
For those of you who have not been introduced into the VR5 world this series was originally created in 1995 by acclaimed executive producer/writer/director John Sacret Young ("China Beach") and co-producer Thania St. John ("Life Goes On"). The series is about the daughter of a neurobiologist who has apparently lived through a tramatic experience of losing her father and sister. She is haunted by the memories of "the accident" and somehow she stumbles in her dealings with computers upon the Virtual Reality world. The main character Sydney Bloom played by Lori Singer is able to bring a person into the computer into a visual world she creates and both her subconscious and that of the person she brings in are brought into play. The other person never remembers the experience. The five levels of VR 5 are VR.1: Computer Screen VR.2: Interactive Video Game VR.3: Flight Simulator VR.4: Cyber Space VR.5: Virtual Sensory Reality

In the Pilot the show introduces Sydney Bloom a mild mannered TelCal worker and a lonely soul. Her only escape is through the use of her computer fitting when she taps into the VR world that she feels free and her confidence changes. Her only friend seems to be Duncan (Michael Easton) whom seems to be a street person with a vast array of knowledge. Upon stumbling into the VR world she goes to Dr. Frank Morgan (Will Patton) who tells her to stop what she's doing before it's too late. This episode guest stars Penn Jillette as Kravitz and Adam Baldwin as her co-worker Scott Cooper whom seems to have a shady past. Enjoy!!

4-0 out of 5 stars If you see it, you will come... to Amazon and buy it ;-)
This particular double episode is typical of all the series of VR 5. It is excellent. I was a fan when it aired on FOX television and was blessed when I saw the soundtrack in a price slasher bin in a suburban Philadelphia store. Years later it began to air on the SCI-FI channel and I could not get videocassettes from Rhino or the scifi.com web store. (Bast...) Fortunately for all of us Amazon.com is getting them and making them available. I've been spreading the word. (No, I don't work for them.)... (Could I?)... Anyway, This whole series preceded the movie "The Net" which had almost plagiaristic similarities. Since then several television series have come and quickly gone trying to capture the magic woven by the shows writers and producers. Obviously the on screen talent is exceptional, but I think they get enough press on their own. (This is starting to sound like a plug.) I highly recommend each and every episode, including this one, in the series. It does what few producers are willing to do: Go off on a high note. Leave us wanting more, rather than flashback and dream sequence episodes when the idea well is running dry. Then our last memories of our favorite shows become tainted and we long for the early season's re-runs. But enough about "The X-Files", find the soundtrack wherever you can (maybe Amazon.com will even find it for you (hint to web survey editor) and immerse yourself in cyberpunk.

5-0 out of 5 stars VR.5 Series
Well this was yet another excellent progam the network named after a type of animal canceled. If you enjoy sci-fi you'll like VR.5. Virtual Reality, drama, adventure and a little humor added every now and then, not to mention it made you think a little.....what more could you ask for? (besides someone picking up the series again)

5-0 out of 5 stars Gripping and dramatic.
I thought this was a gripping and suspenseful video. Definitely the best sci fi thriller ever created. It takes place in Sydney Bloom's apartment, played by Lori Singer, where she discovers she can tap into people's minds through virtual reality. I don't want to give what happens away but the ending is a surprising one. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not "edge of your seat" but not bad
Here's another one of those movies about a guy getting out of prison, then having the cops put wires on him to go undercover to try to bust some bigger fish. That guy is played by Jim Belushi. He does a decent job, just like he always does. This type of movie has been done many times before, so it's nothing that really stands out. It does have a great supporting cast, though, such as Henry Silva, who, of course is the head of the whole drug thing. Henry Silva always does good at this type of charactor and at was good seeing him here after not really seeing much of him since Above The Law. Others include Charles Durning and Tony Plana. You can get this cd in the discounted section of certain big stores and it's worth the money if you find it at a place like that. It may not be worth a full dvd price though.
