They skydive, they kickbox, they travel through space. Is there anything these crayon-colored teens can't do? The answer seems a resounding "no," until some construction workers unwittingly open a manhole cover and loose Ivan Ooze upon Angel Grove. Although incarcerated in his egglike tomb for 6,000 years, Ooze gets right to work at that world domination thing. First up: Strip those eager teens of their morphin uniforms and associated powers and send their leader Zordon to his crystalline deathbed. There's nothing to do but head for a distant planet to meet up with a bikini-clad warrior babe who imparts ancient wisdom and power. Meanwhile, Ooze has been turning parents into zombies who craft giant metallic insects--all the better to take over the world with. This 90-minute film features some cast changes from the Fox television series, as well as better special effects and extended fight scenes, which account for the PG rating. Parents must weigh in for themselves on the famous violent-influence-or-not question. Although, like anything else, what seemed violent in 1995 may seem a bit tame today. 4-0 out of 5 stars Okay but to cheesey.
As I am writing this review, I am watching the movie. It has been a pretty long time since I have viewed it, and to tell you the truth, it's pretty good despite the cheesey lines and sort of bad acting. The action scenes are awesome.
I grew up with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers since they started in 1992, and until Power Rangers Turbo, I was their biggest fan. I watched as they gained their powers from Zordon, fought the pif who ate everything, Lord Zed took over, They got their new Zords and powers, Putties were replaced, The girl who could turn into the cat joined when Kimberly(who I still think is hot)left, and when Jason saved Tommy from the green candle.
Since all these things happened, the Power Rangers changed so many times I litteraly lost count. Probably because I can't really count higher than 6 but that is beside the point. What I mean is they have changed a lot and lost their first generation audience.
When I was sitting in the theater waiting for the Indian in the Cubard to start, I saw a preview that made me jump for joy. I actully think I screamed in the theater when I saw Ivan Ooze shoot a glob of slime on Rita's mouth.
They story begins when the team are jummping out of a plane for a charity thingy-ma-bobber. They discover that an evil guy named Ivan Ooze. They have to travel to a distant world to find a new energy source so they can defeat Ivan. They they meet an extremely hot warrior named Sofia. They get new costumes and new Zords.
This movie is somewhat entertaining and is kinda funny. I don't recomend it unless you are a young kid who doesn't know the origanal power rangers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Action packed fun
It may be a little cheesy to older viewers, but if you're like me, Power Rangers was your world when you were a kid. The action is fun, the effects are amazing, the actors are all VERY beautiful people, and its just general fun for the family. If you need a day to just escape, this movie is good to watch. Plus it has Kimberly(Amy Jo Johnson) who is VERY beautiful and the ONLY Pink Ranger worth watching. I stopped watching the series once she left, no other girl compares...

4-0 out of 5 stars *Shakes Head*
When this movie came out when I was a kid, I doubled over with excitement because it was state of the art and just downright awesome. Recently, I watched it again, except now I'm grown, and I couldn't help but laugh at the cheesiness of the movie. The reason I give it four stars is because overall, I remembered what it was like to be a kid again, imagining the possibility of these things and how cool the Power Rangers really were in their day. I would recommend it for nostalgic reasons; not for entertainment because it is over 10 years old and is, officially, cheesy.

5-0 out of 5 stars GO GO POWER RANGERS, YOU SUPER FANTASTIC POWER RANGER!!!
As the biggest Power Rangers fan in the world, I know that this movie is totally awesome!!! Thee Power Rangers' new costumes and zords are totally rad, the plot is great, and the humor is even better. I like the part where the rangers are ready to skydive and Bulk and Skull get freaked out and Aisha tells them that they should put on their airbag thingies and they said, "Good Idea." I also like when the Rangers are fighting Ivan Ooze's purple creepos and Billy gets slime all over his hand and says, "You Ooze You Lose." Well, that's true because Ivan Ooze oozes allot and the power rangers beat him bad!!! I recommend this movie wheather your 3, 63, inbetween, or even older than 63!!! This movie is great!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool movie for a cool series
INTRODUCTION:
The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was a classic sci-fi action series that debuted on FOX in 1993. This series tells the story of five teenagers who are given superhuman abilities to battle an evil empress who has her sights set on destroying the world. The series lasted for a number of seasons, and has spawned at least half a dozen spin-offs (all of which are inferior to this, the original series.) The series became wildly popular almost immeadiately, so just about two years after it debuted, a feature film was released! Read on for my review of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers - The Movie.

BASIC PLOT:
This episode takes place between seasons two and three of the classic series. Lord Zedd has set out to resurrect an evil entity from hundreds of years ago called Ivan Ooze. He succeeds in this, but discovers that Ivan has a mind of his own. He imprisons Lord Zedd and Rita in a glass jar, and sets his sights on destroying the earth. He destroys the command center, which causes the Rangers to lose their power. Also, Zordon's glass jar was broken in the process, meaning he will die soon. Alpha says that there is enough power left to teleport them to a distant world where they can get a new source of power, and maybe save Zordon's life, but there's a problem. There isn't enough power to bring them back. If they fail to get the new power source, they'll be stranded on a distant world. They accept the task, and Ivan sets his sights on causing universal destruction.

FILM OPINIONS:
This is a pretty cool movie. Sure, it's very cheesy by modern standards, but back when I was a kid this stuff was state of the art. For the film, the Rangers outfits, the Command Center, and the city of Angel Grove, and the Rangers weapons got huge makeovers - and all for the better too. Only problem is these things only took on their new appearances for the movie - they didn't stay that way for the new season of the series. I bet that confused a lot of people! Although the plot has been done to death in the movie industry (there are enough "I want to destroy the world" movies out there), it's still a cool film.

OVERALL:
If you can find this movie for a good price, it's a worthwhile diversion from all of the junk that has been flooding the motion picture industry recently. If you're going to watch the Power Rangers, make sure it's the classic series - and not those lame spin-offs FOX has been showing in recent years.

SIDE NOTE:
The movie has recently been released on DVD, as a double feature with one of the movies for a later Power Rangers series. ... Read more

If you're five to eight years old, get with some of your buddies, eat two bowls of Fruity Pebbles, scarf three packets of Pop Rocks, and snap your synapses into Power-Ranger Elysium with Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. If you're a parent and you don't know a Zord from a Zordon, get ready for one and a half hours (yep, one and a half hours) of enough mass marketing and mindless mayhem to destroy any resistance to the overt "buy this toy" messages contained therein. The evil Divatox, a busty space "piratess," kidnaps two former Power Rangers and it's up to the new Rangers to save their friends from becoming human sacrifices to an evil monster. The Rangers' leader, Zordon (who thinks up these names?), gives the new crew added "turbo" powers and presents them with their new Zords--turbo-powered cars. What's never explained is why there are former Power Rangers: do they get drummed out for not morphing (or morphing too much), or do the Rangers maintain the same policy as the once-famous Latino pop band, Menudo (replacing members once they get too old). There's an inordinate amount of the fake kung-fu kicking that made the TV show popular, and the villains are grotesque; but they're just shrieking punching bags. But the thought that Turbo is basically "the next generation" of Power Rangers is enough send chills up any parent's back. That's why kids love them so. --Keith Simanton ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars go,go,power rangers!!
I love Power Rangers, hence I'm writing a review.Okay,so an ewokish wizard named Lerigoht is needed for Divatox's plan to marry the evil, scary Maligore. But the Rangers will stop her, except for Rocky.Rocky got his back injured in a fight, and is no longer the blue ranger, but 12 year old Justin takes his place.Divatox kidnapps former pink ranger Kimberly and Gold ranger Jason as part of a sacrifice, and turns them evil. To stop Maligore, the zeo power rangers upgrade to turbo rangers. This movie rocks, but not as good as MMPR:TM.

5-0 out of 5 stars I'll never admit it openly that I like this stuff! (Oops!)
Guess I did spill it! Well, I'm writing this review as 'Anonymous'...so no one will know the difference. Anyway, I'm a 17-year-old girl and actually like the Power Rangers. Sad, I know. But I like the show mostly because I see guys on it (certain Power Rangers) whom I think are cute. So I can't help it but watch the show! Anyway, I think TURBO: A POWER RANGERS MOVIE is better than the first film, MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: THE MOVIE. I don't know why I liked the second one better...I guess I just do (I've seen both, by the way). It's got more action and more Martial Arts moves (a lot are pretty cheesy, of course...but most people these days like watching cheesy stuff anyway!). The plot is better, too. Also, two of the original Power Rangers (Kimberly and Jason) come back in this movie, too. And one of the best things about this movie is that not all of the Power Rangers are young adults or teenagers...one of them's a kid. He's the new Blue Ranger, Justin. In TURBO, the Rangers are trying to help Larigold, get new Zords - the Turbo Zords - and try to defeat Divatrockz, the new villian who is using Larigold's powers (Larigold is a creature from another planet) to bring back this monster - I forget his name - who she will marry and they will comebind their powers to become the most powerful villians in the universe and have the power to destroy and take over the universe. It's really cool and if you're a Power Rangers fan, then this movie is definitely for you!

Also, check out my rankings for favorite Power Rangers: 1.) Power Rangers Turbo 2.) Power Rangers Lost Galaxy/Lost In Space 3.) Power Rangers LightSpeed Rescue 4.) Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 5.) Power Rangers Time Force 6.) Power Rangers Zeo

Great show full of cute guys and lots of action. Some people may think Power Rangers is a "wimpy" and "lame" show...but those are probably teenagers who used to watch Power Rangers when they were kids. So don't listen to them and keep watching the show if you love it!

1-0 out of 5 stars turbo (...), down with turbo, down with turbo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Power Rangers Turbo is the worst Power Rangers season of all!!! I like every other season because they aren't just a bunch of dorks running around in spandex fighting some weirdo in a bikini, I mean, the other season's actually have plots!!! Turbo is just five dorkoids in crayola colored costumes trying to defeat some weirdo space pirate who couldn't conquer a juice bar and a babbling idiot!!! Tommy and the other Rangers used to be cool until the people at Saban made them not the Power Rangers Turbo, but the Loser Dork (...) I don't give this snotty thing any star at all, the only reason my review says one star is that you can't pick "Doesn't diserve a thing!"!!! Beware the Loser Dork (...).

1-0 out of 5 stars Hands Down - Worst Movie Ever
I saw this movie when I was about eight and even then I hated it.
Years later this is still the most atrociously stupid and point-
less movie I've ever seen. There's nothing remotely cool or original about it - it's just garbage full of cheesy
special effects, bad acting, and lame fake "rock" music.

5-0 out of 5 stars Number 1 fan
21 year old here,(i know i know i need help) anyway i watched Power Rangers from every since day one and i still watch the show and I'm so exicted for the new season.
My all time favorite PR team is Power Rangers in Space and my all time favorite red rangers are TJ(Tobo) Andros(space)Leo(Lost Galaxy)and Cole(wild force)just had to put Leo because to me he was the cutest red ranger.
I'm still hoping for a female red ranger, two sisters rangers and i'm really hoping for a ranger pairing.I tought it was going to happen with Kimbarly and Tommy but they were separated, then i tought it would of happen with Andros and Ashly but it didn't happen, again i tought for sure it was going to happen with Leo and Kendrix but they just had to let her go so i said to myself it just have to happen with Cole and Allysa but as we saw it didn't happen.
Please let there be a rangers pairing it the new season Ninja Stom thank you ... Read more

Out of all the episodes from Power Rangers In Space, Saban had to pick the Psycho Ranger saga! I'm not saying the Psycho Ranger saga was bad, but it's not the best either. Countdown To Destruction should of been put on video or the Ninja Turtles/Space Rangers team up, ect... Countdown To Destruction was the best 2 part episode ever. This was the best team ever! And they deserved a great video, not a pretty good video.

3-0 out of 5 stars Terrific series; so-so video
Having gotten my copy of "Power Rangers In Space: The Movie" a couple of years ago, I am frankly surprised that they would actually edit the episodes (and even cut one whole episode out) and downsized them to fit a movie plotline.

I like the video, it's just it would have better if they had tried to at least make a miniseries on Fox or make it into a made-for-TV movie.

PRiS is actually a great series, it's just that the Psycho series isn't actually the episodes that would be worth editing and composing into a feature-length "movie." The plot itself is intriguing and semi-original, the acting is terrific, but actually, the first two to three episodes would be worth editing or even better, the last three episodes of "Countdown to Destruction." It wraps up things more fully and is a welcome relief to the usual end to a seasonal PR series.

If you like PRiS, this movie is for you. If you're a PRiS fan who actually thinks this is a full-length movie, better pass this up. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Shift Into Turbo
The Power Rangers 1st movie was extremely popular. So were the first four seasons of the show, but this movie was unfortunately the beginning of the end for the show's popularity. The only thing I ever saw wrong with the Turbo Rangers was Justin. The idea of having an eleven year old for a ranger was just to off. Divatox was actually a good character to add. She was annoying and pushy just like Rita. The plot of this movie was good, but sadly short. What makes this movie really good is that unlike the first movie which had nothing to do with the series this movie actually blends in with the show. However in the end it didn't matter because after the show continued once the movie came out the show went down hill. The show amazingly still went on spanning off six more whole seasons and are now releasing a seventh, but the overall popularity of the show is nothing compared to what it used to be. Amazingly enough kids still watch the show. So now your probably thinking sense this movie was the start of the show's downfall it must suck. Wrong! The main reason why the movie failed is because many people in my generation were growing out of the show, in other words started saying, "The show is for kids." However hardcore fans like myself have stuck with the show till this day. I'm sure if the creators of the show decide or should I say dare bring out a third movie it'll probably do awful at the box office like this movie and I'll admit it's kind of hard for some people to stick with the show seeing how the show gets a whole new cast every year, but if you just like the overall theme of the show (Kids or in some cases young adults saving the world) then I say you'll like this movie. If like me you bought the video buy the DVD because I'm sure it's bound to wear out eventually. ... Read more

Alright lets be honest.. This movie sucks. The only people who i think would honestly enjoy this movie, is fans of power rangers. the movie is completely power ranger related... 3 characters from the show appear in it... the director and producer worked on power rangers... the stunts are very simular... and i dont know if its just me but all the hench men seem to take falls just like the puddies did on power rangers... hmmmmmmmmm. well anyway besides the complete power rangers crew involved in this movie it does has its moments. who would have known "adam" and "skull" could make such a team? the action of jonny yung bosch is pretty impressive. makes me wonder why he is doing anime voice acting now instead of action shows/movies? jason narvy is just there for comic relief... his counterpart from power rangers, paul schrier (bulk) makes a brief appearance as a bar owner. the video is very bad.. looks like a normal sony cam corder that one could buy at a best buy... o well... if your a fan of power rangers then i can guarentee you'll enjoy this... but if your not a fan of power rangers.. then your prolly in for a big laugh

3-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I thought this was an excellent movie, then acting was great, martial arts sequences were awesome and it was a beleivable plot line. Johnny and Jason did a great job, though it was very different from their acting on the PR series, that's probably what they were going for... All in all, 3/5 stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great movie, though I'm biased.
Though the picture is a little grainy, and sound is a tad uneven, the movie itself is great! Though, you have to have an appreciation for such things. Loads of violence (all the stunts are real, by the way) and some cussing. Though, the most Johnny Bosch says is "hell," but others say worse. Besides the cool action and tight setting, it's a really s one of those things where you have to pay attention to the entire movie, or else you'll miss something that might come up later on. Not only does it have action and a good plot, there's comedy too. The two thieves (Billy Ray and Guile) have a little trademark that is sort of corny, but it's really cool. Just beware, there are a ton of cliches and corny phrases.

Other than the aforementioned faults (which there are few of), this movie is great for any original Power Rangers' fan or any martial arts fan!! Also for those who like movies about thieves on a mission!!

3-0 out of 5 stars not as good as it could be
this is a really good movie....plot wise anyway. the editing was pretty bad though. some of the shots look they were filmed with a home video camera. there is some dubbing done on speaking parts that is really noticable. other than that, the movie is great. lots of martial arts action and some funny one-liners.

1-0 out of 5 stars The 1 star is for the DVD quality, the movie gets 3 stars.
The reason why I gave the DVD a 1 star is because I don't think the releasing company didn't even take the time to even remaster the soundtrack! The picture quality looks old, grainy and weathered, the image is distorted and the colors are uneven. The sound-quality is a Dolby Digital 2.0 track, and it sounds like snakes hissing at the screen, but I don't see any snakes. The movie isn't even in Widescreen Presentation it's in the lousy Fullscreen Version.

Overall Grade:

Picture: NO STARS

Sound: NO STARS
Movie: *** out of *****

In case you're wondering this movie stars two of the cast members from the original Power Rangers show! Watch only if you can stand the terrible picture and sound. ... Read more

Watch only if you can stand the terrible picture and sound. ... Read more
