I have read reviews where people thought the movie was juvenile. Well, it is about children, so I don't know what the expectation was. Anyone who has spent time with little kids, or has kids of their own will definitely appreciate this hysterically funny film. The special features are fun too. There are interviews with the kids, and the kids do some interviewing too. Great music also!
So back to question to unemployment. What do you do? Open an excellent daycare yourself! Open a business up! The only problem is you have a very strong and able competition, from an established day care which act like preschool. And the owner is very keen to keep every kid in her daycare not anybody else's. Much to add, there is a short animated movie in this dvd set and you gotta watch it *grins* Early Bloomer is the cutest animation I have ever seen and I must admit of watching it repeatitively way too many times hehehe

As far as I'm concerned, this was the best show on TV (along with Martin). I still can't believe Dr. Katz was cancelled, even syndication! This squiggly vision show will have you laughing until your belly hurts! Watching Dr. Katz's daily life is HILARIOUS! Synopsis of Main Characters: Dr. Katz- Meek, soft spoken, divorcee who is a professional therapist. He is often walked all over by his secretary, son, and good buddy. Ben Katz- Product of Dr. Katz's failed marriage, Ben is a 25-year-old boy (hence the word BOY) who still lives with his father in a 2-bedroom apartment in the city. Ben is VERY dependent, and has no plans (or at least realistic ones) of doing anything for himself. He has never had a job; the closest thing was his mission to breed Vietnamese pot bellied pigs from home! The only thing stopping him was the $3,000.00 he would have to pay per pig; he had a great time trying to talk daddikins into that one. All he does is walk around the house in non-matching socks, a t-shirt, and his tidy whiteys! Oh, and Mr. Bulley; he always has to have Mr. Bulley (a stuffed bull). Laura- She is the sassy secretary of Dr. Katz that doesn't seem to take anyone seriously. Although she does nothing in the (helpful) office, it's more like she is running it. She is also the one to credit for their creative filing system: "Nuttier than a fruit cake, nutty as a fruit cake, not as nutty as a fruit cake"! She is also the sparkle in Ben's eye; Benny Boy has a great big crush on Laura! Stan- He reminds me so much of Larry on Three's Company! He is a late 30's early 40 something year old bachelor that thinks he is the total ladies man. He sells real estate by day, and picks up the ladies by night (or so he thinks!). He is always feeding Dr. Katz with bad advice on women. He even drinks at a place that is very similar to the Regal Beagle that Larry and Jack drank at. With these four, and all the supporting characters of the show, that is why this is one of the best shows my Magnavox has ever seen! Even without the professional comics The Katz Man, Ben, Laura, and Stan make the show worth watching! I would recommend this, and all Dr. Katz videos to everyone! ...

For anyone who's never seen "Dr. Katz", it's a show about a cartoon psychiatrist who's patients are all celebrities. The couch sessions amount to hillariously illustrated small bits of stand up comedy. The in-between sessions bits tell a story in the life of Dr. Katz, his lazy son Ben, and his exasperated secretary Laura, usually extremely well written satirical pieces on American Life. Another thing to note is that although the tape box says 100 minutes, the video is really only 45. ~$12 is a bit high for 2 episodes, but for the quality of laughs it's worth it in my opinion. Now if only they'd release a tape with the "manatee" sketch... *sigh*. ****

The kids will love the silliness and the jokes of the other kids, and the adults will like the heartwarming story about a father finally getting to know his son and the funny jokes. I recommend watching it with the whole family!
Murphy plays an ad-exec named Charlie who loses his job after his account for "Veggie-O's" cereal fails. After weeks of an unsuccessful job search, he and pal Phil (played gregariously by Jeff Garlin) decide to start their own day care center out of Charlie's home. Not only must they deal with a group of hyperactive kids, each with their own personality quirks, but they also face competition from a very snobby private pre-school owner named Miss Harridan (Angelica Huston). Both Charlie and Phil soon find joy in parenting after their initial frustrations, thus reiterating an important theme of fathers as role models. While many kids in film can be annoying, the tykes in this film are quite funny in an over-the-top way. Even funnier are the grown-ups' reactions to them. Observe the scene where Charlie is kicked by bratty Crispin. Or the infamous "bathroom scene." Both Murphy and Garlin's almost cartoon facial expressions are priceless. It should also be noted that Angelica Huston makes a fantastic villain. Her character starts off relatively tame, but as she performs dastardly deeds to save her school, she becomes a wicked stepmother type with a voice to match. Overall, this film is likable. It's not genius by any means, but it's a nice comedy you can watch without any deep thought. Plus, it's clean and entertaining enough to watch with your kids. And it's ALWAYS good to find something to keep them occupied.
