4-0 out of 5 stars Great and ultra gory sequel
Return of the Living Dead 3 is a large departure from the other two films in the series. Where as those two films combined dark humor and zombie horror, director Brian Yuzna (Bride of Re-Animator) goes all out with some of the goriest zombie action to see release in this country. When a young girl (Melinda Clarke) is killed in a motorcycle accident, her boyfriend uses the experimental facility where his father works which re-animates corpses to bring her back to life. However, when she comes back, she's got a hunger she's never had before, and it's like the old saying goes; a girl's gotta eat. The acting is surprisingly solid, with Clarke being almost perfect as the zombified girl who still loves her boyfriend. The gore is extremely realistic and there is loads of it, so be warned; gorehounds will find plenty to love here. All in all, this is one low budget horror film that is definitely worth checking out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great sequel!
This is the second sequel to the 1985 cult horror spoof "Return of the Living Dead", part II was ok but seemed like a rehash of the original but this one is totally original.

It's about a couple of young adults who are lovers, the boy's girlfriend gets hurt in a motorcycle accident and dies, the boy has a father who works in the military with a experimental corporation that brings the dead back to life. The Boy decides to take his girlfriend to a lab using an experimental gas to bring her back to life but it works, unfortunately she is a kinky Zombie that eats brains and turns people into brain-munching ghoul.

Very entertaining and extremely gory sequel with great make-up effects, a very sexy undead girl, and original story that makes this a must see for fans of Zombie flicks. Watch this movie in the unrated uncut version with extra gore, not for the squeamish!

Also recommended: Resident Evil, Ghosts of Mars, Return of the Living Dead, Day of the Dead, Dead Alive, From Dusk Till Dawn, Re-Animator, Aliens, Lucio Fulci's Zombie, Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, Phantasm, Bride of Re-Animator, Scanners, Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, City of the Living Dead, Nightmare City, Hellraiser, Toxic Avenger, Bad Taste, An American Werewolf in London, Idle Hands, Total Recall and The Beyond.

3-0 out of 5 stars "It's not Romero"
Im almost sad to say I didnt like this one, probably because it wasnt directed by George. Yuzna was great with the Re-Animator and such but this movie was, I think the word is "New." Im a 70's 80's zombie films kinda guy. I think MAJOR Producers should stop after Resident Evil: 2 comes out. Excluding the Independent films. This movie had some pretty good scenes with that dudes head and spine getting ripped out, and the intro was pretty good with the experiments and the zombie revolting and killing the doctors, but it still wasnt Romero.

1-0 out of 5 stars Really Disappointing!
This film is a complete departure from the 1st two "Return"
movies. Whereas the first two movies in the series are fun
spoofs of the genre, this film attempts to compete with
the Romero films as a legitimate addition to the dead
series. It fails in that respect miserably. Don't waste
your time or money on Return of Dead 3.

5-0 out of 5 stars Return of the Living Dead 3
The third part of Return of the Living Dead is one of the best to me.
In this movie a teenage couple gets in a motorcycle accident and the boy's girlfriend dies.So he goes to where his father works and uses the 2-4-5 trixon to bring her back but it goes wrong she starts having cravings for things she does not eat and she starts eating people's brains. But the only thing keeping her from eating him is their love. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Sara Gilbert & Drew Barrymore Shine...
I rented this movie mainly 'cos I was looking for some Drew Barrymore films. Somehow, I found this one in the drama section. I thought I'd like it, and I was right. This movie first starts off with Sylvie writing about 'Ivy' in her journal. Sylvie wishes they could be friends, because she doesn't have any friend. So Ivy & Sylvie become friends, and Ivy begins basically living with Sylvie and her family. Sylvie's mom is really sick, and throughout the entire movie, you can tell Ivy is trying to take the mother's place. Ivy obviously didn't have anyone that cared about her, and she wanted to be in a family really bad. If I tell you anymore, it'll ruin the movie. In my opinion, the movie was great, and Drew Barrymore and Sara Gilbert made it a very great film. They really know how to act! So if you're looking for a good movie or two to watch & you found this one somehow on this site, rent it or buy it, because it is a great movie if you like Drew or Sara. Hope you enjoy it. =)

5-0 out of 5 stars great movie!
Poison Ivy is a great movie, starring a great cast of Drew Barrymore, Sara Gilbert, Tom Skerritt and Cheryl Ladd. It's about a young girl named Ivy who doesn't have much, who meets a friend who has 'everything'. Ivy does her best to fit in with the family... END

5-0 out of 5 stars Little miss naughty. 15th april 2004.
She hasn't got hardly any friends, until she starts chating up a girl the similar age as her, who also hasn't got many friends either. Her best friend as a perfect mother and father until she decides to fall in love with the girls father and starts kissing him. Her mother is ill, she as wanted to kill herself many of times. She is a bad person but the girl dosent realise that until later on when she finds her with her dad, and also pushes her mother out of window. SHE WAS THE PERFECT FRIEND.

4-0 out of 5 stars Purely vampy
...Drew Barrymore and Sara Gilbert heat up the screen in this vampy homoerotic thriller. Drew Barrymore plays the Lolita-esque Ivy, who will apparently stop at nothing to .... well, it's not that clear what Ivy wants exactly, only that she's willing to seduce quite a few people to get it. The plot is not this film's best asset, but who cares? Not most fans of this film, who are perfectly content to watch the talented and sexy Drew Barrymore in this most unlikely come-back role.

5-0 out of 5 stars a word of advice
watch poison ivy 1 & 2 but skip the new seduction. trust me, you'll thank me later. of all the erotic thrillers in the nineties, poison ivy comes off clean as one of the most original & well-made of the entire genre. surely there have been many imitiations of poison ivy but none hold up quite so well after nearly 12 years unfortunately as the one which started thegreat trend. who is ivy? is she a very lonely girl whose never had much of a life & simply desires the friendship of another rebellious young girl? or is she a greedy, evil snake in the grass? perhaps both? i'll have to admit it's hard to know exactly how to feel when you first watch this film & even harder to completely hate the character of ivy despite the evil things she does. drew barrymore gives a slick, seductive performance which is only rivaled by her companion coop(played by sara gilbert) & matched through the brilliant performance of verteran actor tom skerrit(who plays coops father). poison ivy, is suspenseful, sad, & often sensual although never really reaches the level of a softcore film like the rating might suggest. there are 2-3 implied sex scenes which may be considered objectionable for viewers under the age of 16. parents may wish to either view this film with their younger children or to screen it first before allowing for mixed family viewing. if you've seen poison ivy & loved it, go ahead & try the sequel which has alyssa milano. the 2nd poison ivy is quite good too although the first one is still the classic. go out & get your copy of poison ivy today on dvd & vote for me!! forget the tnt televsion edit & pick up the new line cinema dvd. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE BY ONE AMAZING GUY
The first words that spring to mind when I think of this film is 'WOW'. Val Kilmer brings this character of Robert Elliot Burns to life, probably too well, and makes you believe that you're living it with him... the sign of a truly amazing actor... The things Mr Burns went through, the struggles that he faced seem so horrific it makes you think of the question 'This can't be real, can it?'.. What makes it more horrific is that it's based on a true life, a real person, real situations, real actual events...It blows my mind every time I watch it...Val Kilmer was the right person to play it because he puts so much into the role, he makes you feel the pain that he's suffering. This is a sign of an amazing, talented, young man..who just keeps on getting better...if that's possible. If I could I'd give it more marks than 5 because it is definitely a film not to miss.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great movie for Kilmer fans..
An early film by Val Kilmer. Some may think it drags on but it ends up being a pretty good movie. Val Kilmer fans must see his great performance. I'd recommend to at least rent if not by this movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Portrayal of a Serious Social Problem
Val Kilmer gave 110% in his portrayal of the horrors faced by those sentenced to the old Southern chain gangs. Unfortunately, with the emphasis on making criminals pay for their crimes, the film may generate less sympathy than it once did.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!!
Val Kilmer gives yet another great performance in this movie; he truly becomes Robert Burns. 1000 Chains was captivating...you get caught up in the main character's struggle for freedom. This picture was very eye-opening. I would recommend that everyone see this movie!

5-0 out of 5 stars Run, Robby, Run!
Originally an HBO pay channel release, this is perhaps one of their better movies. Val Kilmer plays Robert Elliot Burns. Burns is a WWI veteran who eventually winds up, wrongfully, in a Georgia chain gang. After quite a few whuppings, he escapes in dramatic fashion. Rebuilding his life in Chicago as a news magazine publisher/writer, he gets blackmailed by his wife. He goes BACK to the chain gang and, after a few whuppings, escapes again!! A Val Kilmer fan must see this one, as it is one of his best roles. An all-star supporting cast helps ease the slower parts along. (This ain't no pretty boy flick, ladies. Ol' Val gets the snuff beat out of him.) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars SERIOUS FUN
If you don't have a sense of humor or an appreciation for classic horror you won't like this film. It's a montage of homage that is devoted to capturing the pace, direction style, acting style, dialogue etc. of such films as Alien, The Haunting, Dawn of The Dead, Nosferatu on a relatively low budget. The pared down scenes accentuate the spoof sentiment and remind us why horror is fun. Take the Alien scene, hard talkin', pulse rifle carrying space marines complete with transmission samples as background juxtaposed to the reefer madness-esque black and white, highly stylized scene of The Haunting. Battling evil can be funny and Bruce Campbell's cameo, as well as others, lends support. If nothing else, it's a treasure hunt for horror genre fans.

1-0 out of 5 stars a sequel to a dumb movie
this is a notch better then the original only because of the black and white bit with Bruce Campbell, he's the highlight in this movie. the cast like Zach Galligan, David Carradine, Martin Kemp, Michael Des Barres,Alexander Godunov and Maxwell Caulfield who is horrible gay are completely and utterly wasted and if you want to see a gay, and I mean gay apprentice, Des Barres is all that and a bag of chips. the beginning is sucky and the ending is suckier. Hickox is a horrible director. the rap song at the end is snazzy and catchy. look for Drew Barrymore in a cameo in the bit where Galligan and Godunov go threw time fighting, look for her with another girl in that Nosferatu bit.

4-0 out of 5 stars Oh come on, of course it's cheesy...
When I first saw this a few years ago, I found it absolutely hilarious. From the opening scenes where the two kids are arrested, dealing with the eternal post-horror movie question how the hell do these kids explain away these bodies bodies once the police arrive?', to the numerous pastiches of horror classics, just sit back and enjoy the stupidity. With cameos galore, this quite rightly blows the feeble-minded horror parodies such as Scary Movie out of the water. This is the poor-horror movie fan's poor horror movie (if you get what I mean).

4-0 out of 5 stars A much better parody of horror movies than Scary Movie.
Damn, this movie is great! It's so bad, it's great. Of course, the director meant for it to be bad. The Wax museum from the first burns down, and Zach Galligan's character is blamed for it. Now, him and his girlfriend must go back in time to right their (supposed) wrongs. A lot of cheesy special FX and one of the most sickening head-crushing scenes I've ever seen on a movie. (The lead singer of Spandau Ballet gets his face crushed by Frankenstein until his eyes, as well as his brain(?) pops out.) The Aliens parody is hilarious, as well as corny (which makes it hilarious), and the scene with Bruce Campbell is way over-the-top...that's the only way to put it, watch it and you'll see, and watch for the cameo by Drew Barrymore toward the end. All this and a bad, bad, bad rap video during the closing credits...what a great movie.

1-0 out of 5 stars BAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDD Movie!
This movie [stinks] beyone belief. Even though most peoples reviews said it was crap, i said i'd give it a chance. How wrong
i was.
This movie is pure cheese, I mean when sarah goes home and she turns out to live in this dump with a lush for a father.
Yeah cos u can dress like her and live in a cardboard box. And then in the courtroom, it was the hand, the hand, pure
philadelphia cream cheese. And the horror scenes are just crap, the alien one is terrible (sigourney weaver rip off).
And the haunted house with deanna troy from star trek trying, and i emphasise on the word trying to act all moody,
thinking she might make money from this piece of tripe when in fact she probably hurt her career severely. And the girl
who replaced the original sarah was terrible, come to think of it i've never seen her in anything else, surprise surprise.
Just take my advice and do not purchase this movie it's awful, no wonder it's limited availability, most copies have
probably been burned at the stake. If there was a no star rating i would give it that but i can't, i think. I CANNOT
STRESS THIS ENOUGH """""DO NOT BUY THIS"""""" It's Pure [junk], Only buy it if you want your friends to think you have
no life, bye. ... Read more
