4-0 out of 5 stars Great for children. Good teamwork, environmental message.
My son ( 2 ) loves this movie. He will not sit through Lion King or other Disney movies but can watch this repeatedly. This is not a movie for adults -- it has a basic story line and simple dialogue. The background animation is wonderful.

2-0 out of 5 stars Just one more cute 90's movie in the bin.
I've always felt the worst movies are the ones that could have been good but weren't. I liked this movie when it first came out because I was 9 and I enjoyed forest animal movies with good music. This movie did all that but unfortunatly it managed to do all of this without a decent story. It's just not a good movie and it really could have been better if it had better story telling. Sorry, can't recomend it.

1-0 out of 5 stars So poorly mad even small children can't appreciate it.
This was the most boring and pointless children's animated movie I have ever had the misfortune of renting. The six and eight year-olds for whom I rented it were also bored by it. The plot and dialogue were simply terrible.
Just because a movie is made for children doesn't mean it can't have anything besides inane chatter. I strongly urge you not to purchase this movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful animated adventure
I loved this movie when I was younger (probably about 5 years old).I saw it in the theater, and I must admit a few parts were a little scary. It is a story about furlings who must travel to another meadow and find herbs to save their young friend's (Michelle) life. A truck carrying poisonous gas drove off the road and contaminated their forest. Michelle ran to find her parents and wound up deathly ill from the gas. On their journy to save their friend these three furlings meet many interesting characters (the birds are my favorite). It also has great music!

A sign that this movie is still just as entertaining to the new generation: My friend's four year old sister just watched it and she couldn't take her eyes off the screen until it was over (71 minutes).
Well that's all I have to say, except it is not a Disney movie, while it is very similar to Disney movies, it is actually made by Fox Video.
Another great movie is the Princess and the Goblin. I can't understand why these movies are so unknown, They are great. Some parts still make me laugh.
That's the end of my review, but if you want to know more about the movie you can read on. This is what the back of the box says:
"In this rousing, magical adventure filled with whimsy, laughter, and charm, a host of fun-loving characters takes you on an unforgettable journey in a land called Dapplewood. One day three Furling friends, Abigail the wood mouse, Edgar the mole and Russell the hedgehog, find their tranquil lives greatly disrupted. A chemical spill has destroyed Dapplewood and their young friend Michelle becomes seriously ill from the toxic fumes. Counting on their own ingenuity and the skills they learned from their teacher Cornelius, they take off on an exciting, but dangerous journey to find help for their friend. Their wisdom soon pays off and they set about to restore Dapplewood to its original splendor."

Once Upon a Forest is a wonderful movie and it should definately come out on DVD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable & highly underrated. Where is the DVD?
This is a very enjoyable movie, and one of the best in the legal drama genre. Gene Hackman is typically brilliant, mixing humor and anger in the most believable and human way. This was the first time I saw Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, who proves herself a very capable actress, never once seeming overpowered by Hackman. She's also stunningingly beautiful (which has nothing to do with acting, but it doesn't hurt). Laurence Fishburn also puts in a powerful supporting role, as does the city of San Francisco, which always looks beautiful and inviting on film and this is no exception. The only thing missing is a DVD version. It's almost become a cliche to ask, with all the garbage that's released on DVD, how can so many great movies languish for so long on VHS, utterly ignored by the studios? Who knows. But if you still own a VCR, this movie is highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars fantastic, absolutely fantastic!
perhaps one of the greatest legal subjected movies ever made. great script, great castings, great actor/actress, great directing, editing....and so on. very moving, very dynamic. seeing gene hackman and mary elizabeth mastrantonio at their best, quite a joy to watch and appreciated. by watching this movie, it could make you understand how good gene hackman is, has been, and going to be and, it would also let you know, how actors and actress could become so great, if a movie production could put a good screenwriter, a good director and couple of top-notched performers together, and all were smart enough to sign on to do it together. if all the elements are so premium, then that movie will certainly be going to be great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Moving
This is an extraordinary drama in which father and daughter (both lawyers) with big emotional issues have a face-off in the courtroom.
Aside from a very well-constructed plot and competent direction by Michael Apted, the performances delivered by the actors are quite impressive. The supporting cast is very good, especially Jan Rubes (Alexander Pavel).
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio shows great maturity in a challenging role - and the fact that she is stunningly beautiful does not hurt.
And what about that Gene Hackman? What a brilliant actor. Watching him feels like a real privilege. Don't you miss the chance of doing it.

4-0 out of 5 stars More Timely than Ever
Read about Firestone Tires and its analysis of risk factors in defective equipment, then see CLASS ACTION and realize that it's the same story! Excellent performances by everyone. If you like courtroom dramas, don't miss this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Class Action
This is one of the best movies that I have watched. My college instructor compared it to some instruction he was doing in class. Five of 25 students had seen the movie and agreed that it was a perfect example of what we were studying. I was trying to purchase it so that all the class could view it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars a "Little" enjoyment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![!!!!!]
First of all, I want to say what an honor it is to be the first person to write a "mini" review of this DVD. Frankly, I'm surprised that more people haven't "weighed" in. Sadly, many people are biased against "little" people.

The Littles are my favorite show ever, if you "measure" my enjoyment in "proportion" to the "size" of the protagonists. Which I do.

Dude, all I know is that the Littles RULE. Think about it. They could make boats from corks and stuff. Not that I ever saw them do that, but they totally could. By the way, are they Vulcan?

The Littles were "little," admittedly, but that does not preclude them from achieving "great big" things. Great "big" things. For example, one has a mustache. A "little" one, yes, but still - a mustache!

I kind of want a Little. Or two. They don't take up much space, being "little" and all.

To conclude, I'd like to add a "Big" finish. Get it? Littles - "big" fun for everyone!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Littles
The Littles is one of my favorites. It is the prequil to the animated series and tells how Henry meets Tom and Lucy Little. (note: how the 30 minute cartoon says Henry found Tom and Lucy is NOT true according to the movie!!--watch and you'll find out, as Paul Harvey put it, "...the rest of the story") The characters are honest, genuine, and teach kids that your true friends will always look out for you. This beautifully animated movie is great for all ages. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Stephanie Zimbalist was great in this movie
Stephanie Zimbalist had once again demostrated to her audience and herself that she is a able actress. Hollywood should pay more attention to her and give her more roles in art-house/ independent movie roles. She was really good in this movie and a delight as usual to see her on the screen.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fascinating Stuff That Fills In The Gaps Of The Movies.
This tape is actually two seperate pieces that originally appeared on television: The Massacre of the Burkittsville Seven (Made for Showtime), and The Blair Witch Legacy (Made for The Sci-Fi Channel). Massacre explores the Rustin Parr killings, and is by far the better of the two features. It fits well with the documentary-like feel of the first Blair Witch movie, and provides some really chilling insights into the events of that movie. I think it would even be effective on it's own. The Blair Witch Legacy doesn't stack up as well, playing more like what it really is: A long informercial for Book of Shadows. It, too, adds to the moviegoing experience, but since it originally aired before Book of Shadows was released, it tries too hard not to spoil the movie's surprises. Overall, it's a worthwhile viewing experience, especially Massacre. The conclusions drawn by that segment are truly unforgettable, and will change the way you look at The Blair Witch Project upon further viewing....

2-0 out of 5 stars Isn't ONE enough?!
When "The Blair Witch Project" came to the theaters it was great. I personally went to see it twice because it introduced a new fear and a new horror movie. A year and a half after "Book of Shadows" I also went to see it in the theaters and it was terrible. It had no concept. Then after they come out with video games and "The Curse of the Blair Witch" a documentary that actually makes you believe that the "Blair Witch" is real. Sorry to tell you but she isn't. The whole story is fictional. Now they are coming out with vidoes about seven kids that are killed by a possesed Rustin Parr! As if the world isn't crazy as it is. Getting this video is a waste of time. See "The Blair Witch Project and Book of Shadows" and forget about it. You don't need the magnets and the pins and the stick men and other merchandise. This is just making up for the consequences of using home videos as a movie.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Blair Witch Hole Filler!
Really excellently done. This two volume video contains material that fills in some of the plot holes in the other videos and books. Really a companion movie to go along with the books, this video was very well done in the same docu-drama style as the original movie companions and books.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Mystery Deepens
The Blair Witch Project (Haxan films, 1999), will go down in history as an independant film phenomenon, due to its incredible originality of style, an uncanny conservation of cinematic device and style, and an overwhelming hype that, in '99, was unmatched (for an independant), before or since. You'd have to be a true fan of Horror, and one of the quickly-growing coven of Blair Witch cultists, however, to have enjoyed the admittedly inferior sequel. Perhaps you're one of them; here are the present (most obvious) criteria: We begin at the same point, with Heather, Josh, and our little Mikey, hiking off into the woods; the end of Part I, as it were, should also be the end of our interest in witches from the Black Hills. Enter a now two-year-old "mockumentary," Curse of the Blair Witch. No questions about the missing filmmakers of BWP are really answered, but very factual-looking notes, interviews, historical/mythical snippets, and more, make for a subject matter (albeit purely fictional) that makes this mythos all-too-real...much like the Amityville phenomenom of the 70's and 80's. The much-anticipated sequel, Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, pales in comparison to the original...unless the first TWO films (it would be a blatant misinterpretation for anyone who dismisses the validity of Curse of the Blair Witch) have drawn one this far; let me make it plain: if you even marginally enjoyed or found merit in the second theatrical film, it's undoubtedly because you've been HOOKED SINCE THE FIRST "MOCKUMENTARY". The Massacre of the Burkittsville 7 is not a must, by any means, but if you're a confirmed Blair Witch Hunter, this companion piece to BoS will further deepen and mystify your own Blair Witch experience, with new details concerning Jeff Patterson and the characters introduced in Blair Witch 2; and, just to start new question/debate, the introduction of Kyle Brody, the only child abducted by Rustin Parr in 1940/41 who lived to tell about it. As in Curse of the Blair Witch, this "mockumentary" will serve not to answer questions spurred by the film, but to bring to the table new dilemmas and incongruencies. Massacre of the Burkittsville 7 is just another piece in the growing puzzle that's making the Blair Witch Legacy, in the minds of devoted afficionados, the best premise for modern horror since Hitchcock's day. Pick it up, and continue the search yourself...if you dare. ... Read more
