4-0 out of 5 stars A Pleasant Surprise
This is one of those films that people mistakenly assume to be only action and no more. Do yourself a favor and rent or buy this film before making that judgment. Yes, it's about a two childhood friends who got caught up in the war and one becomes a sniper. But it is more than that. The acting is very good. Linus Roche gave the kind of good acting that he usually does. Vincent Perez was also good in this film.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not to be Missed!
See this fil for better understanding of how childhood friends can become enemies during war. The performances were great and Vincent Perez just gets better with each movie. Candace Serviss

5-0 out of 5 stars This film conveys what it was really like....
After spending three months doing humanitarian work in the former Yugoslavia in 1993, I didn't think a film in English, made by an "outsider", would ever convey what it was really like over there. I was wrong. Shot Through The Heart is remarkable in the way it shows the psychological effects of the war. Watching it, I felt transported back there. I recommend this film to anyone who wants to truly understand how the wars in Croatia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, and Kosovo happened. But I also recommend it to anyone who appreciates good film-making or wants a film that is an experience, not just a diversion.

5-0 out of 5 stars IMPORTANT FILM ABOUT FRIENDS MADE HOMOCIDAL
Shot Through The Heart, is an important film of our time that perhaps not enough glimpses how ordinary, middle class people can become both killers and innocent victims.

Two boyhood friends, grow up closer than brothers ... tied together by their world class competition rifle marksmanship. One is a Serb and the other a Muslim, at first their lives are knitted together by their shared sport and friendship. Soon, events in former-Yugoslav overtake them. They become thrust into the Bosnia fighting on opposite sides in and around Sarajevo. Inevitably, they must face one another with their rifles.

Quite likely, the important lesson in this true life adventure-drama is, this deadly contest can happen any time, to anyone, and anywhere. As the film begins, it seems the ordinary-ness of the characters will protect them from killing their neighbors and friends. Of course, these tragic people cannot escape the approaching, inevitable tragedies of war.

VERY WELL DONE AS HISTORY, DRAMA, AND ART. Excellent acting, directing and filming throughout.

1-0 out of 5 stars An superb depiction of the madness that is Bosnia/
A movie that moves too quickly to really tell the story of Bosnia and it's war. But, it does in the space of two hours show how the best of friends can become enemies. A film that shows the madness of the Serb's false history as an excuse to kill their Muslim friends. Having been in Sarajevo I can attest to the reality of the film and it's horror. A film that needs to be seen by anyone who wants a view of the Hell that was Sarajevo. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars A Sequel That Doesn't Live Up to the Original
You could probably watch this movie a dozen times and still be unable to completely follow the story. For some reason the continuity and artistic merit that were present in the original "Graveyard Shift" are completely lost. The story is a bizarre tale of the return of Baisez, the vampire who was introduced and supposedly destroyed in the original movie. Baisez is doomed to walk the earth as a ghost-like being until he can find a body he can posses. Sounds simple enough but the story jumps all over the place, taking place on a movie set. The thread of continuity completely unravels through the course of the movie and by the end you are left completely unclear as to what exactly happened. The bizarre part is the movie is nonetheless interesting. I would only recommend it for diehard fans of the genre.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Price Of Stardom
The Understudy: Graveyard Shift 2 is a haunting study of lust, love, and how some people would trade their immortal soul for one shot of fame. Camilla Turner is a young aspiring actress who, while talented, seems to only be able to get bits parts in low budget horror movies. On the set of her first starring role(Blood Lovers, about a vampire pool player), She meets a mysterious, seductive young man named Bezzai, who tell her he can make her star...... for a price. Camilla manages to get Bezzai cast in the lead role, and from then on, she and the other cast and crew mem-bers start exhibiting strange behavior. and the events that take place behind the scenes begin to echo the plot of the movie they're shooting. When Matthew, Camilla's fiancee' and the film's editor slowly figures out Bezzai's true nature, then the race is on to save Camilla before it's too late A first rate cast, crew, and director, plot, and film within a film scenario makes this independent gem a cut a bove the average low budget horror film. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Helene is worth see-in!!

THE FALL

Craig Sheffer, Helene de Fougerolles, Jurgen Prochnow, Kim Huffman, 1998

Synopsis
When a hysteric woman barges into a young man's apartment seeking help from a madman who is chasing her, a web of lies and deceit start to unravel. The young man must try to understand what is going on and who to believe as he is seduced by this unknown woman.

My Review
French actress Helene de Fougerolles is quite good in her debut English movie. Her acting is seductive and suceeds to confuse the viewer. The film keeps you interested, and makes you wonder who is telling the truth.

5-0 out of 5 stars An exellent suspence thriller
Sitting alone one night watching HBO, I came upon this film, and was really impressed by it. The characters are very emotional, and the setting (Budapest, Hungary) is in a place which is one of my favorite regions in the world. The story starts out very dark and vividly and doesn't lose it's grip thru the suprising climax, and if in were made in by Hollywood, instead of being regarded in the Canadian film industry it would have gain some more recognition, I highly recommend this thriller, it surely has become one of my favorite movies.

2-0 out of 5 stars An average horror movie
This movie is for the ones who like "any" kind of horror movies. I could not find anything special in it except for visual effects in some scenes. I call it an average horror movie as it does not have a value added but just makes you spend some spare time. There is too much blood in the flick and some instant moves make it rated R for viewers below 18 (and persons with heart problems)

4-0 out of 5 stars An amazing Stanley Kubrick-eusqe thriller
This movie was an amazing journey that really shows how well it was made. I really loved the acting and the plot. Taking place in Budapest, a young American becomes intrigued by the dark psyche that stalks the atmosphere which he eventually becomes obseessed with, and in that finds a diturbed young woman who becomes a dark part of his everlasting nightmare he lives in. ...
