Zach Galligan, the star of the first Gremlins, is back, along with Phoebe Cates, his girlfriend from the first film. They're both working in an ultramodern skyscraper owned by a Donald Trump clone (a hilarious John Glover). Galligan's furry little buddy is captured by a mad scientist, who not only helps it multiply, but invests the nasty, scaly offspring with intelligence and the ability to talk. (Watch for the one that has Tony Randall's voice.) What follows is imaginative mayhem that spoofs old movies, modern television, and the conveniences of postmodern technology. In some ways, the sequel is even more inventive and laughter-inducing than the original. --Marshall Fine ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Gremlins 2--The New Batch
Director Joe Dante ("Pirahna") is back at the helm after a six-year hibernation, continuing the story of those mischevious mutant monsters. This time, they invade a futuristic New York office complex run by a billionare, and only Galligan and Cates can save the day. Just as exciting, scary, and humorous as the original, "Gremlins 2" is unique in it's slapstick and laid back approach that actually works in various ways. If you're looking for a fun 2-hour romp with little green goblins, a cute furry pet, many crude sexual jokes, and a pulse-pounding musical score, this film is certainly for you. Director: Joe Dante. Cast: Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, John Glover, Robert Prosky, Robert Picardo, Christopher Lee, Dick Miller, Jackie Joseph. Rated PG-13 for slapstick violence and profanity. 114 minutes.

4-0 out of 5 stars Better Than The First!!!
Gremlins 2 brings us to New York City. Billy and Kate now work for building magnate Daniel Clamp. After Mr. Ving's death, Gizmo comes back into their lives after a daring rescue by Billy from a genetic research lab. Of course, Gizmo gets wet and havoc reigns superme in New York-gremlins-style. Everyone's favorite new gremlin is the talking Brain Gremlin, played to perfection by Odd Couple legend Tony Randall. My favorite gremlin, however, is one I call the Sex Gremlin, an all-green female who literally falls for Mr. Forrester, the company's gremlin-disbelieving floor manager, which makes the chessy but funny men's room wedding scene at the end of the film my absolute favorite. Billy's father at the end of the first movie said it best: "Look out all the windows, check in all the closets and cupboards, look under all the beds, cause you never can tell, there just might be a gremlin in your house!" Well, New York, you better start doing the same. Because the Gremlins and Gizmo are back with a vengance. Give this movie a rent and just see what I mean.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gremlins in Gotham
I'm not saying this just because I am a New Yorker, but GREMLINS 2--THE NEW BATCH is slightly better than the original. First, it's a much less mean-spirited film than the first (which I also gave five stars, but for different reasons). Just the fact that a character who was crushed to death in the first film, shows up in the sequel (wearing a small cast) because he really was likeable, shows that Joe Dante and the scriptwriters were going into this film for the fun of it. Second, the casting was flawless. Whoever chose Tony Randall to do the voice of the strangely-William F. Buckley-sounding, intellectual gremlin was responding to nothing short of divine inspiration. Everyone involved in this production had their hearts in the right places and the effect shows. GREMLINS 2--THE NEW BATCH is an astounding piece of comic fantasy and horror that should endure.

4-0 out of 5 stars Gremlins 2/a very cool film.
Gremlins 2 is a nice film that is even better than the original. I like how it spoofs everything, and I love the new gremlins. The first batch looked sort of rough and raggedy[but still interesting],while the new batch is bright and vivid.Plus,Gizmo was a blast.I am REALLY looking forward to a third sequal, with CGI/Animatronic gremlins[a sort of Jurassic Park thing].Gremlins 2 is a wild and rowdy romp.

4-0 out of 5 stars A shocking sequel
This is the amazing squel to the First Gremlins. It begins shortly after the Chiness man recruit Gizmo. A few years have gone buy the old Chinese man that had taken care of Gizmo before an after he meet Billy . This movie has some fun scenes. The weeding in the mens rest room at the end is hillarious. So is the sense with Gizmo working out one when he is lift a bar bell and falls through the floor. Anothew one when he punches a punch bag and get hit back in the face.

The only bad thing about the second gremlins is you see Gizmo being tortured in it a lot more than you did in the first one. It has zany funny monments. The part when Gizmo dress up like Rambo and makes a boy an arrow out of the close hanger. The part when Bill is talking and suddenly the screen goes funny the gremlin appear on the screen a do the shadow puppets is hysterically.

However unlike in the first one not all the gremlins is killed the one Female on survives. Did i mention some of gremlins are genetically alltered by drink chemicals. One of the Gremlins turns in eletricity and shocks and eletricuts ever living creature he touches.

My favorite gremlin is the one that drinks some short of chemical that makes him smarter allows him to talk in english. There is some gore and lot s of violence in it. The scariest is the spidger gremlin who ends up being huge. He dies he burns to death at the end.

He was really mean to Gizmo and is shown tocture gismo like Half a dozen times during the movie. The other Gremlins do not like gizmo because he is a misfit. Unlike them he is kind and good and does not like hurt and playing pranks on other creatures.

The nastiest parts in the movie is when one Gremlin acts Dangle Clamp and he forces it down a paper shreder were it is slice to pieces. She is gus us out of the shreder the lock like liquidfied spinch. If you like this I recomend seeing Gremlins as weell as the Critters series which was enspired by the Gremlins series. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Comedy? Horror? Who cares!
"Gremlins" is one of those movies that you'll either think is pure genius or pure stupidity. I happen to believe it's the former, for they really don't make movies like this anymore. What other film can make statements on everything from the commercialization of Christmas and the stereotypes of sitcoms to the of the innocence of Walt Disney and the fad that was Phoebe Cates? "Gremlins" is the story of a cute little creature named Gizmo (anyone who doesn't adore this guy has got to be cold-hearted). When his new teenage owner fails to follow certain rules to take care of him (you know how irresponsible kids are these days), all chaos breaks loose and the nasty fun begins. Now that it's controversial and marketing overkill days are long gone, you can enjoy this film for the remarkable madness it is. What makes the movie work is the combination of a Mel Brooks-style comedy, a "Poltergeist" clone, a live-action Looney Tune, and a Speilberg-spoofing hit. It may sound confusing, but that's the idea. One minute you're pointing out hilarious parodies from "E.T." to "Flashdance", and the next minute you're jumping out of your seat in terror. "Gremlins" takes everything fun about the movies and squeezes it into a thrill-a-minute adventure that remains exciting every time you watch it. Don't miss out on the superior sequel "Gremlins 2: The New Batch".

5-0 out of 5 stars A Classic now on a new DVD.
This 1984 Horror Fantasy comedy is the story of a guy who recieves a cute and cuddly furry creature before Christmas named " Gizmo" ( voiced by Howie Mandel) but there are three important rules if he wants to keep him. Rule 1# never expose him to the light especially sunlight, Rule#2 Don't get him wet and the most important rule of them all, Never feed them after midnight. But two of those rules have been broken, Gizmo has got wet and spawned more of his kind then when the other Mogawais eat after midnight they change into hideous Green Scaled monsters that is causing havoc on Christmas eve, can the man and his pet stop these creatures or will the town be wiped out?

A highly entertaining and original movie that has original ideas, interesting Social commentary, laughs, gore, and all around good fun that the entire family will love. When this premired in 1984 in the summer, it became one of the highest grossing movies of that year and also caused the new PG-13 rating cause of the violence. The Special Ed DVD here is excellent, has trailers including Commentaries, documentary, and Never-before-seen Deleted scenes, this is a must own if your a lover of horror and comedy.

also recommended: E.T., Lucio Fulci's The Beyond, Ghostbusters, House ( 1986), Return of the Living Dead, Critters 1 & 2, Hobgoblins, American Beauty, Pulp Fiction, Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, C.H.U.D., Lilo and Stitch, and Child's Play.

5-0 out of 5 stars There are just three rules...
1) Buy GREMLINS. 2) Watch GREMLINS 3) Repeat #2 several times

Every time I surf the t.v. and I come across GREMLINS, I will put down the remote and watch it til the end. GREMLINS, for its time, was truly groundbreaking. It was E.T., except with really rotten friends and relatives. Well-paced and directed Joe Dante, with unique performances by Zach Galligan and the gorgeous Phoebe Cates, GREMLINS deftly treads in and out of suspense/horror and comedy. (Phoebe Cates' explication of how her father died is still outrageous.) And there are plenty of pitched battles between the good guys and the unruly gremlins to keep the plot moving. Just don't show this movie to young kids around Christmastime.

This special edition has a lot of goodies that true GREMLINS fans will enjoy, and the quality is top-notch. Just don't get it wet.

4-0 out of 5 stars Mischief and Mayhem in a Cuddly, Furry Package
An inventor with a penchant for oddities that don't work (Hoyt Axton), while selling his wares in a sketchy section of Chinatown, comes across a young boy who promises to show him some wonderful things within his grandfather's shop. Once inside he does indeed find himself amongst the odd and wonderful. He becomes drawn to the singing of a cute furry little creature known as a Mogwai, and informs the shopkeeper that he simply must have the Mogwai, as he's in dire need of a Christmas present for his son. The shopkeeper hesitates, and finally says no to the inventor, Randall Peltzer, as with the Mogwai "comes great responsibility." Distraught, Mr. Peltzer turns to leave. However, knowing that his family needs the money, the young boy offers to help him out by selling him the Mogwai behind his grandfather's back. The adorable fuzzy little creature comes with three rules. He doesn't like bright lights, he can't get wet, and he can't be fed after midnight.

Billy Peltzer (Zach Galligan) is elated upon opening his present. He immediately becomes friends with the Mogwai, Gizmo, and makes sure he abides by all the aforementioned rules. When a neighborhood boy comes by to deliver a Christmas tree, he doesn't exercise quite as much caution and accidentally spills water on the Mogwai. This unveils a whole new trait for Gizmo, and a whole new world for Billy. The Peltzer family soon discovers just how much responsibility is necessary for a creature of this caliber, as does the rest of the town they live in. Bad things may come in cute, cuddly, furry little packages.

I rate the movie as five stars, and the DVD as three, hence the average of four stars. The acting is superb, and the effects are brilliant, even if they are a little gory (the whole kitchen scene comes to mind) for the rating given (PG). The gremlins themselves are superbly done, especially when you consider that these are puppets and are not computer-generated! Each of them has their own unique personality that comes out in little snippets throughout the duration of the film, proving that every minute detail was taken into consideration with the making of this movie. The soundtrack is classic eighties cheesiness in all its glory and splendor. Howie Mandel did a good job as the voice of Gizmo, even if it didn't consist of much. Chris Columbus, Joe Dante and Steven Spielberg prove themselves an excellent team, combining a humorous and witty script with some extremely good moviemaking. This movie has become, and will live on as, a cult classic adored by fans of monster and horror films and should not be missed.

However, the DVD package leaves something to be desired. Apparently "Special Edition" need not be very special at all, consisting of only a couple of commentary tracks and the trailer for the film. Both of which are appreciated, yet many DVD's offer much more than that these days. I would have hoped that this very special movie would be released with a little bit more bite, and perhaps someday it will. Until then, this DVD will have to suffice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gremlins (1984)
Director: Joe Dante
Cast: Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, Frances Lee McClain, Polly Holliday, Glynn Turman, Dick Miller, Keye Luke, Scott Brady.
Running Time: 106 minutes.
Rated PG for non-PG worthy-violence and some language; keep in mind that the MPAA Rating System created the PG-13 rating in 1985 largely due to this film and "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom".

"Gremlins" gets its title from the nickname given during World-War II to mysterious malfunctions that took place on American fighter planes. No one could explain some of the break downs, so they determined that evil little monsters created by Japan were the culprits. The 1984 film which is directed by Joe Dante ("Piranha"), written by Chris Columbus ("Home Alone") and executively created by the one-and-only Steven Spielberg ("E.T.", "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"), inducing much media acclaim and criticism alike. It is an extremely violent film for the rating and especially dark, but overall is a touching, terrifying story that works on all levels and became one of the most popular formula-producing horror films of the entire decade.

A quirky inventor (Hoyt Axton) brings home a mysterious furry creature as a Christmas present for his son (played very well by newcomer Zach Galligan), not knowing the horrors that the purchase would later produce. The furball is named Gizmo, which looks like a cross between a Kuala bear and a Cabbage-patch kid, is not only unique in appearance-it multiplies when exposed to water, hates the sight of light, and creates horrific, flesh-eating creatures when it is given food after the clock strikes midnight. When Galligan accidentally feeds some of his pet's furry buddies, the little creatures morph into green, scaly little monsters that proceed to wreck havoc on the city and ruin Christmas.

Excellent special effects, a wonderfully hilarious script-writer Columbus, an exceptional musical score from composing genius Jerry Goldsmith, and top-notch direction from the veteran Dante-making "Gremlins" a ghoulishly scary comedic romp that is like no other. Phoebe Cates is very good as the love interest of Galligan and Dick Miller is humorous as a paranoid, cranky war veteran. A petrifying, splendid finish. Special Note: The film gives some special insight to the true spirit of Christmas-SHOULD NOT be viewed by children anyways, but especially those who still believe in Jolly Old Saint Nick. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Zach Galligan and Corey Feldman team up again
My #1 favorite movie of all time is "Gremlins", and was pretty anxious to see Zach Galligan reuniting with Corey Feldman. Unfortunately, the movie is not one of Galligan's better performances. He's made some good ones ("Waxwork", "Mortal Passions", "Rising Storm", "Psychic", "Cupid", "Surviving"). This was not bad, just was not very great. There are a few funny scenes, and I do reccomend this, just don't expect anything nearly as good as "Gremlins".

5-0 out of 5 stars A great movie to watch

4-0 out of 5 stars Campy Chessy Classic
First off, if you don't like horror movies, or just 80's movies in general, you're not going to like this one at all. But if you do, you MUST see this, becuase it is essential to any horror buff's collection. The plot centers around an Anytown,USA type place that suddenly has a local Waxwork mueseum. While walking to school Deborah Foreman and Michelle Johnson are invited to a private showing of the waxwork by the owner himself. Thus, the girls invite Zach Galligan and a few other friends from college to come along. It turns out that the waxwork specializes in murder scenes, and if you get close enough to an exhibit, you will be transformed into its world. That is how Dana Ashbrook meets and becomes a wolfman, and how Michelle Johnson gets a kiss from Dracula. Other classic villains shown; Marquis De Sade, the Mummy, and some zombies a la Night of the Living Dead. It is up to Zach Galligan to unearth some secrets about his family that will help him destroy the Waxwork and its evil owner. My favorite aspects of this movie: the fact that it is made in the 80's, giving it an automatic layer of cheese...Deborah Foreman's performance, as the stereotypical "nice girl," (though her character in April Fool's Day was much more convincing and entertaining)...and the way the director not only pays homage to horror classic, but also the way he pokes fun at it. I'm not completely sure he did this on purpose, but certain scenes involving Dana Ashbrook's character and the local sherriff suggest that the tone of the film was meant to be both comedic and horrific. Even though the movie is not completely brilliant or polished, it still provides entertainment to a certain audience who typically enjoys these kinds of flicks. P.S. Don't bother with the sequel.

4-0 out of 5 stars So Bad it's HILARIOUS
Horror movies are great. At times REALLY bad horror movies are even better. The acting and plot on this is so sub-par that you begin to think that they meant it to be that awful. Which I think they did. The basic concept of the movie is actually quite clever...waxwork scenes that are only missing the "victim" and unsuspecting teens stepping into the gory role. Don't think this is something that I would view over and over again. But definitley a great flick when you have a bunch of friends over and you're all drunk.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Flick!!
I have seen this movie at least 20 times and it gets better each time I watch it! Who can resist David Warner in anything?? This movie has everything. Gore, sexuality, and comedy. Who can forget Dana Ashbrook's classic line "Who put the acid in my drink again, China!" Too funny for words.

5-0 out of 5 stars Waxworks Review
I thought this movie was good!I've seen it about 3 times....but only once all the way through. Honestly....I don't know how people can dislike it. If you didn't think the movie itself was good, you at least had to like the scenes with Marquis de Sade in them. Not only is he one of the villians that actually are interesting, the acting is really good. He's one of the reasons that I liked the movie. That and I've known him in a past life......but that's a different story all together.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Bit Ashamed
I think the only reason I liked this movie was because of the scenes with the Marquis de Sade. Sorry to say. That was my past life though, so I'll shut up about that. Anyway, actually, it's a fun film and I heard Dario Argento is admired and was an influence on Hickox, so he can't be that bad (you can see it in some of the scenes which are Argento-like). And of course the Marquis de Sade. Sorry. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good B movie
Okay, you know when you pick it up it's not Casablanca or The Searchers. But if you're looking for plotless violence and sex, this might fit the bill. Lots of B movie stock actors make this a fun film.

5-0 out of 5 stars Zach Galligan in Psychic
PSYCHIC it's an excellent movie. I like it very much. Gremlins star Zach Galligan it's a psychic in this movie... and it's the only one that can save his girlfriend from a serial killer. Galligan's acting it's excellent!! And the movie it's a blast!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Death lives in the shadows of your mind
Director George Mihalka's supernatural thriller never lives up to the expectation of his cover art. Instead sluggish pacing, B-movie acting, and a preposterous plot sinks it.
Zach Galligan is a college student who has Eyes of Laura Mars visions of Michael Nouri in sunglasses as a serial killer, who strangles with an animal-imprinted belt. Galligan is also romantically interested in his Psychology lecturer Catherine Mary Stewart, who he learns is dating Nouri, a fellow Psychology Professor and "authority on abnormal" behavior and who has written a book called Rage and Redemption.
The screenplay by Miguel Tejada-Flores and Paul Koval, based on an original story by Mark McQuade Crawford and William Crawford, doesn't use Galligan's psychic ability. Even when he goes to the police he can't even tell them the location of the crime which is obvious from the way Mihalka presents the vision. Instead we get sidetracked in the tiresome romance, with the only tension created in the last 10 minutes, with Stewart isolated with Nouri. The only original touch is Galligan's vision of Stewart reading Crime and Punishment, as a ruse to give them common interests. Otherwise the implausibilities include Galligan dismissing a tattooist as a medium who "transfers", the police calling in Nouri to give Galligan a psychological evaluation after Galligan is arrested for breaking into Nouri's apartment!, a snow plough that refuses to stop to avoid hitting a parked car, and the cliched representation of slacker college students who have more interest in "bagging a babe" than studying. One doubts the morals of Stewart's character, since she so easily has sex with Galligan, when she is also dating Nouri - she uses this defence in her initial rebuff of Galligan.
Mihalka's presentation of Galligan's visions include a subjective stalking camera with slow motion action, strobe lighting, and the victim reflected in Nouri's sunglasses, but another victim looks inexplicably into the camera at presumably Galligan and us. Things aren't helped by the blustering music score by Milan Kymlicka, the interior of Nouri's apartment featuring animal heads on the wall, and a stalled car at the climax. The contribution of the snow plough in the climax is also highly questionable.
That an actor like Nouri can steal the acting honours from Galligan and Stewart is no complement to them, though Nouri's comparative small amount of dialogue helps. Galligan seems too old and Stewart too young for their college positions, and both have limited B-movie mannerisms, with Galligan all throaty voice for boyish sensuality, and Stewart big eyes a la deer caught in the headlights. One even comes to resent the denouement, where the killer is disposed of and the evidence against him is flimsy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Cop Corruption of Another Kind . . . WOW!: Shocked&Impressed
Viewed this just yesterday and I have to have it for myself on DVD. This is "Internal Affairs" & "The Corruptor" combined, but taken to another level--this movie (as unethical, debased, avaricious, secular, materialistic, brutal and downright sinister as it is) was entertaining, gripping, powerful, fast-paced, bold, funny and educational. Educational from a criminal or subjective point of view. The main character did lots of foolish and crazy things, but you may also come to realize he was pretty intelligent, nimble and brazen. Not a movie to be viewed by kids, but great adult action and entertainment. Mario van Peebles gave a superb performance...and he's not at all one of my favorite actors. If not for the wayward, perverse and twisted nature of this movie, you would have heard more about this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Power-packed thirll ride, intense, funny and fabulous
Up until the end of this turbo-feuled film I was wondering who was going to make it, who was going to get whom!?! The story of a bad cop with little time left and what he finds he is capable of made me wonder to what lengths a human being will go to validate his life choices before dying. Mario Van Peebles gives his best performance since New Jack City in this intense triangle tale of a man, his ex-partner and his beautiful girlfriend (a stunning and revealing Nicolette Sheridan)and survival of the fittest. A must see (especially since Sheridan has a lot to show off... fast forward to the love scene!). ... Read more

If you like this I recomend seeing Gremlins as weell as the Critters series which was enspired by the Gremlins series. ... Gremlins is a whee of a film (if you don't mind the occasional gross-out) from producer Steven Spielberg, writer Chris Columbus, and director Joe Dante. Zach Galligan is the young man whose inventor father (Hoyt Axton) gives him an odd Christmas present: a tiny, furry creature that comes with a set of rules: don't get him wet, don't feed him after midnight, and keep him away from direct sunlight. But Galligan breaks the first rule and the damp little critter pops out a dozen little offspring. Then the offspring break the second rule and, overnight, turn from cute furry guys to malevolent scaly guys with world domination on their mind. The only way to stop them: rule three. But it's an anxious (and extremely funny) battle to make it to daylight--and the bad gremlins find ways to multiply over and over. Great special effects and a gruesome sense of humor make this a wild (if occasionally dark and scary) ride. --Marshall Fine ... Read more

Special Note: The film gives some special insight to the true spirit of Christmas-SHOULD NOT be viewed by children anyways, but especially those who still believe in Jolly Old Saint Nick. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Waiting for the sequel
I liked this video very much. Stephen Moyer plays Val perfectly. I've read the books (I loved them) and he was just like I imagined Valiant. The part of the princess was also very well done by Katherine Heigl. My only dissapointment was that in the comic strip Val's great love was Aleta, the beautiful heroine who with her charm and witt conquered all hearts, including Val's. I wish the lead female role would have been hers. Of course the first movie had to explain how Val came to be a knight. I hope the film company will make another one. Pitty that Katherine can't play Aleta because she would have been a great Aleta. Thank you so much for making a life long dream of seeing these caracters on screen a reality. GREAT MOVIE.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Light
My wife and I were in the mood for a good adventure film so we watched Prince Valiant. This movie is a sort of prequel to the popular comic strip that has been running since my father was young.

The movie begins with Valiant being the squire of Sir Gawain during a tournament at Camelot. When Gawain is unseated and knocked out Valiant disguises himself in Gawain's armor and all but wins the tournament. he would have won except that Vikings had entered Camelot and stolen Excalibur. The Vikings have left evidence to make it look like the Scotts have committed the crime. Thus most of Britain's armies proceed North while Valiant, still disguised as Gawain, escorts a princess back to Wales.

Morgan Le Fey, who is behind the Viking raid on Camelot, uses her magic to discover who can pull Excalibur from a stone in which it has found itself. She sees a vision of Valiant in Gawain's armor and a raid is planned to capture Gawain. When Gawain fails at pulling the sword he is killed. It is now up to Valiant to regain Excalibur. It turns out that Valiant is heir to the Viking throne as he is the last surviving member of the Red Stallion Clan. Valiant gets Excalibur, rescues the princess (who dies and is brought back to life by Excalibur), returns Excalibur to Arthur and asks for the princess's hand in marriage. Valiant then joins Arthur as a knight of the Round Table. This then sets the stage for the comic strip.

What is strange is that Prince Valiant never knew he was a prince. When he learns of his heritage, he is actually a king. It all means that he never actually gets to be known as "Prince" Valiant (although he is called "Prince" by the other knights even though he is a king). Also, when the princess is dying, Valiant challenges God to save her or make a new enemy. It is Excalibur, powered by the gods of Avalon, that responds. Prince Valiant is a fun adventure movie but one that really makes no sense whatsoever. However, if you are looking for adventure, this movie will fit the bill.

5-0 out of 5 stars 2 thumbs and 8 fingers up!
I absolutely LOVED it! I was never really into the comic strips, and i haven't read the book, but i can definately assure you that i will be now! i wanna find out what happens to Prince Valiant in his new adventures. ^_^

5-0 out of 5 stars Wait for the DVD
I loved this movie, not least because my dad used to read the comic strip to my brother and me when we were very young. It's a captivating fantasy, and the movie is light-hearted and beautifully done. Still, I'd suggest waiting for the DVD, mostly because $80 for VHS these days is absurd.

5-0 out of 5 stars I think this movie rocks!
I liked it because it had humore in it and romance and lots and lots of adventure! now those are almost hard to find I thought it wouldn't be too good BUT I WAS WRONG and I think a lot of other people would like this movie too. So order it right now and I think you'll like it. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Funny revenge movie!
This movie is a very funny woman-takes-revenge-on-cheating-boyfriend movie... the basic story outline is that Zach Galligan's character is a "player", even though he has a gorgeous girlfriend played by Teri Hatcher. She basically gets fed up with his antics, so her friends get together and decide to punish him. I dont wanna give away what the girls do to this guy, but I have to admit that I found it all very amusing!

4-0 out of 5 stars entertaining piece!
it's a really interesting movie. in fact i just saw it on tv. i found the idea of kidnapping a lover refreshing and it was certainly a turn on, i think.

2-0 out of 5 stars passable entertainment
This movie is fun, but very very predictable. It also gets bonus points fro the young Teri Hatcher before she became big. The initial kidnapper and commandant of the trio, Kim, played by Lara Harris, steals the show.

3-0 out of 5 stars A fine B-movie for a lonely saturdaynight.
I liked the movie although it is kinda cheap. The acting wasn't top notch, but was good enough for that lone saturdaynight. It's comical and totally not offensive. I therefore question the "R" rating, maybe because of the subtle humor involved hich might be mistaken for some SM, which it's not. Look out for the Ex-Karatekid and Lois lane of The new adventures of Superman. I loved the unknown actress Lara Harris, who actually started the "kidnapping" of the so much hated macho. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars And you thought gremlins were trouble...
Starring Zach Galligan of "Gremlins" and "Waxworks" fame, "The Lawrenceville Stories" are an innocent and impish foray into the friendships and rivalries of silver-tongued "Hickey" Hicks (Galligan), entrepreneur Doc Macnooder (Albert Schultz), and the sly Tennessee Shad (Nicholas Rowe). Set in a turn-of-the-century boarding school, these American Playhouse adaptations of Owen Johnson's "The Prodigious Hickey" and "The Tennessee Shad" are gently funny programmes suitable for the whole family. Movies which do books justice are few and far between, but when you have such fine actors in roles replete with witty dialogue and good-natured pranks, it's easy to overlook a plot change or two... Well worth the purchase if you're a fan of PBS programming.

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent Disney Mini-Series
This 3 part mini-series is about students at the Lawrenceville School. As a former student there, i found the film most interesting. Unfortunately, it is a way more innocent version of my high school experience. It is still entertaining. The antics of Hickey, Doc McNooter and Tennessee Shad are quite fun while the Headmaster fights to keep it all together. An enjoyable 3 hours. ... Read more

Lucas Wiman in the opinion of the present reviewer should get himself a brain with a little more appreciative intelligence. From his personalia it is obvious that anything outside the extreme of the highly specialised academic nothing else is worthwhile. At 18 he doesn't seem to appreciate that entertainment is entertainment. I found the video presents some unusual facets of life expressed by scenarios that in our present way of thinking or experiencing are just not around. The acting was more than adequate and special effects are there to stimulate which not only adds to the story but also give that extra zing. As entertainment I consider the video is good entertainment and also good value for money.

5-0 out of 5 stars A study in bad acting
This movie is really, profoundly bad. Not only are the special effects horrible (a given), but the acting is really, really, really, very bad indeed. If you are teaching an acting class, buy this video, show it, and tell your students not to do what those actors did. After that treatment, they should be wonderful. Highpoints include "cytown", the town of cyborgs and the pregant cyborg. Also included are Malcolm McDowell (for about 3 minutes), and the actor who played Jesus in Pulp Fiction.

...I certainly didn't consider this movie a waste of my time! I really enjoyed it. It's my hobby to watch really horrible movies, and I think this one certainly qualifies. Perhaps I'm shallow, but I didn't find any great insights into the human condition in this movie. I did, however, find it highly entertaining. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars SERIOUS FUN
If you don't have a sense of humor or an appreciation for classic horror you won't like this film. It's a montage of homage that is devoted to capturing the pace, direction style, acting style, dialogue etc. of such films as Alien, The Haunting, Dawn of The Dead, Nosferatu on a relatively low budget. The pared down scenes accentuate the spoof sentiment and remind us why horror is fun. Take the Alien scene, hard talkin', pulse rifle carrying space marines complete with transmission samples as background juxtaposed to the reefer madness-esque black and white, highly stylized scene of The Haunting. Battling evil can be funny and Bruce Campbell's cameo, as well as others, lends support. If nothing else, it's a treasure hunt for horror genre fans.

1-0 out of 5 stars a sequel to a dumb movie
this is a notch better then the original only because of the black and white bit with Bruce Campbell, he's the highlight in this movie. the cast like Zach Galligan, David Carradine, Martin Kemp, Michael Des Barres,Alexander Godunov and Maxwell Caulfield who is horrible gay are completely and utterly wasted and if you want to see a gay, and I mean gay apprentice, Des Barres is all that and a bag of chips. the beginning is sucky and the ending is suckier. Hickox is a horrible director. the rap song at the end is snazzy and catchy. look for Drew Barrymore in a cameo in the bit where Galligan and Godunov go threw time fighting, look for her with another girl in that Nosferatu bit.

4-0 out of 5 stars Oh come on, of course it's cheesy...
When I first saw this a few years ago, I found it absolutely hilarious. From the opening scenes where the two kids are arrested, dealing with the eternal post-horror movie question how the hell do these kids explain away these bodies bodies once the police arrive?', to the numerous pastiches of horror classics, just sit back and enjoy the stupidity. With cameos galore, this quite rightly blows the feeble-minded horror parodies such as Scary Movie out of the water. This is the poor-horror movie fan's poor horror movie (if you get what I mean).

4-0 out of 5 stars A much better parody of horror movies than Scary Movie.
Damn, this movie is great! It's so bad, it's great. Of course, the director meant for it to be bad. The Wax museum from the first burns down, and Zach Galligan's character is blamed for it. Now, him and his girlfriend must go back in time to right their (supposed) wrongs. A lot of cheesy special FX and one of the most sickening head-crushing scenes I've ever seen on a movie. (The lead singer of Spandau Ballet gets his face crushed by Frankenstein until his eyes, as well as his brain(?) pops out.) The Aliens parody is hilarious, as well as corny (which makes it hilarious), and the scene with Bruce Campbell is way over-the-top...that's the only way to put it, watch it and you'll see, and watch for the cameo by Drew Barrymore toward the end. All this and a bad, bad, bad rap video during the closing credits...what a great movie.

1-0 out of 5 stars BAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDD Movie!
This movie [stinks] beyone belief. Even though most peoples reviews said it was crap, i said i'd give it a chance. How wrong
i was.
This movie is pure cheese, I mean when sarah goes home and she turns out to live in this dump with a lush for a father.
Yeah cos u can dress like her and live in a cardboard box. And then in the courtroom, it was the hand, the hand, pure
philadelphia cream cheese. And the horror scenes are just crap, the alien one is terrible (sigourney weaver rip off).
And the haunted house with deanna troy from star trek trying, and i emphasise on the word trying to act all moody,
thinking she might make money from this piece of tripe when in fact she probably hurt her career severely. And the girl
who replaced the original sarah was terrible, come to think of it i've never seen her in anything else, surprise surprise.
Just take my advice and do not purchase this movie it's awful, no wonder it's limited availability, most copies have
probably been burned at the stake. If there was a no star rating i would give it that but i can't, i think. I CANNOT
STRESS THIS ENOUGH """""DO NOT BUY THIS"""""" It's Pure [junk], Only buy it if you want your friends to think you have
no life, bye. ... Read more

Special Note: The film gives some special insight to the true spirit of Christmas-SHOULD NOT be viewed by children anyways, but especially those who still believe in Jolly Old Saint Nick. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Cupid?
Predictable, slow film about a young man who waits for Cupid (Hmm!) to bring him true love, in the meantime a psycho is on the run and murders all the women who don't make the grade. Zach Galligan plays the obsessed with the myth of Cupid character, Mary Crosy plays his mentally disturbed sister & poor Ashley Laurence is the vulnerable girl who gets caught in this jumble of confusion...
Disturbing, perverse at times but plays mostly as a T.V mystery series.

3-0 out of 5 stars predictable
when I saw this movie it was the most predictable movie ever, not to mention twisted. you could tell what was going to happen two minutes before it ever happened. I thought it was really funny. it's like a movie of one of those weird serial killer stories on TV. it's full of incest for the sick minded and gives off a "I've read too many greek myths" vibe. watch it only for the pleasure of mocking it because if you take it seriously it will definatly lower your standing on the food chain

5-0 out of 5 stars Cupid Is the bomb!
If you are looking for a scary movie this movie is the one to get. I have been a fan of Zach every since he started in movies. This movie is about a guy who is obsessed with cupid. To the point that he thinks he is cupid. He is out to look for his pices or "his goddess of love." He finds the perfect girl knowing that she is the one. He starts to kill everyone she knows off so that he and she will be happy forever. But she gets smart and she rejects him, and deadly measures start to happen. If you like great suspense and horror you'll love this movie. I give this movie two thumbs UP! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Middle of the road. That's it, and that's all!
This movie is nothing more than an attempt to cash in on the first one's success. Julian Sands once again returns as Satan's son, but he seems to be sleepwalking this go-round. Two disposable teenage actors (Paula Marshall and Christopher Young), play two descendants of Druid warriors who are the ONLY people who can fight the Warlock and prevent him from releasing Satan into Earth. Oh, and there are six rune stones or something he has to possess to unlock Satan from the bowels of the Earth (etc.etc.). You get the idea.

Anyway, this has some pretty decent effects, and some pioneering computer animations, but all in all, it's a very weak film, and, putting the special effects aside, there's not much left but incompetent acting and cheap thrills. If you like the Warlock films or love Julian Sands, buy this one, or if you're curious, buy it, but overall, you could skip it without really missing anything.

3-0 out of 5 stars ANTHONY HICKOX DOES IT AGAIN!
Warlock:The Armageddon is an enjoyable watch. I bought this DVD because 1.Anthony Hickox directed it. 2.Monika Schnarre
