Classic Cartoon Based on the Hasbro Toy Line
Although I am a guy, "Jem" was one of my favorite cartoon series while growing up in New York City. Airing almost weekday morning at 8am on Channel 11, "Jem" was shown right before the station aired my favorite cartoon series, "The Transformers." "Jem" was Hasbro's answer to Mattel's ever-popular "Barbie" toy line, and unlike the latter, "Jem" was truly more fascinating and interesting.

"Jem - Vol. 2: Fashion Fiasco" contains two episodes "Stitches" and "Culture Clash." In the first episode, Jem and her band, the Holograms, travel to Venice, where bandmate Shana has entered her designs in a fashion contest. As usual, trouble shows its' ugly head as their rivals, the Misfits, also travel to Venice to enter the contest and cause havoc.

In "Culture Clash," the band travels to New York to film a video with one of the top avant-garde director out there. While not quite Andy Warhol, this director has an unusual way of annoying the band. However, when he is linked with a series of jewel robberies, the band gets involved to help clear his name.

It's great that Rhino Video has released this series and many other cartoon shows based of Hasbro toy lines (e.g., "The Transformers"; "G.I. Joe"; etc....). I hope they decided to release more of "Jem" on video, and hopefully on DVD in the near future.

Jem is the best!
Jem was by far my very favorite cartoon show, and still is! It had it all, glamour, adventure, great music, romance, mystery, and interesting characters. Jem was always one of my role models, and I think a good one. I highly recommend this and any other Jem video! It should be released on DVD!! And if there is enough interest, maybe it will be. This video features 2 classic Jem episodes from the 1st season: "In Stitches" & "Culture Clash"

"In Stitches" focuses on Shana, the Holograms designer. Shana's beautiful work will be displayed in a contest held in Italy IF the Holograms can make it there on time! The Misfits are of course out to get the Holograms and they will do anything to win.

In "Culture Clash" The Holograms are off to New York to shoot their next video. They soon find that their wild director is only ONE of their problems. The Misfits show up to try and ruin the shoot and everyone gets caught up in a jewel-smuggling plot.

If you love the 80s, rock n roll music, or good animation this is the show for you! Check it out!

BEST 80'S SERIES EVER
This video is brilliant and it contains two episodes "In Stitches" and "Culture Clash"

In the first episode, Jem and the Holograms & The Misfits are entered in a fashion contest held in Italy. Eric hires Zipper to steal Shana's designs to help the Misfits win.

In the second episode, Anthony Julian plans to direct Jem's latest video in New York along with annoying Fitzgerald Beck. However, Jem discovers that someone has planted stolen jewels in Fitz' gadgets and then Jem decides to help Fitz catch the real culprit.

Don't waste your money...
This is just a blatant,shameful "Barbie" rip-off with tone-deaf rock star wanna-bes that screech out garbage music,giving you a migraine after 1 second.The blinding hair colors are even worse-they make your eyes bleed.You're better off watching "Simpsons" or "Pokemon"."Jem" has no plots,cheap garbage animation and morals plagerized from other 1980s shows.

Jem is truly, truly, truly outrageous!!!!
I love this cartoon I used to watch this cartoon all the time when I was a kid this was one of the best cartoons in the 1980's and Jem she really jammed she dressed fabulously and she had a boyfriend that loved her and she had her someone who looked over her "Synergy" always helped her out whenever she needed help and she had rivals also Eric Raymond and Pizazz and the Misfits if you liked JEM in the 1980's then I would truly recommend that you purchase this video because it is the same people and the same script you will be very happy that you bought this video ; also, if you like rock and roll music or rock and roll cartoons then this is a must have for you!!! ... Biggest ever english Jem fan
Here comes Gold!!! The Misfits are riding on a wave of success so Jem & The Holograms adopt a new Glitter 'n' Gold look to win back their own popularity in "Gliiter 'n' Gold!!!" also, Jem & The Holograms and the Misfits compete to star in a Broadway Musical in "Broadway Magic."

It's gold! Gold! Gliter and goollldd! It's the totally outragoeus Jem Glitter n' Gold episode! The Misfits plan to release there next record and plan to sell 500,0000 many gold records in the glitter and gold contest! But Jem won't alow that so she releases her own gold record!!! Here Comes Gold! Glitter 'n Gold!
Another Truly Outrageous comeback for Jem & the Holograms! I think this song & video would be a # 3 on my "Favorites Song List." The storyline was great as usual! It has been ages since Jem & The Holograms have produced an album, and as a result have disappeared from the charts. (The Misfits are now on top.) Will they have a chance to even compete with the Misfits?

Cynergy, She's BaCk!
I was completely addicted to Jem & the Holograms when I was growing up! I never missed an episode, and when it finally went off air (BAD move), it was syndicated for one full year on USA Network channel, so I taped them ALL! Of course, the sad thing about VHS is that even the best quality suffers after a few years of shelf-sitting...so I'm hoping that Rhino Video will see it as an excellent marketing move to release the entire collection on DVD (like they have with the Transformers). Remember Jerrica & Rio? Or Aja, Shana, & Kimber? How about those Misfits? Pizzazz, Roxy, Stormer, Jetta, and Clash? And near the end...we had the Stingers! If these all bring back wonderful memories of a great cartoon series full of '80's energy, then you have to buy this tape for your collection. Better yet, write Rhino and ask them to box the entire series on DVD! Wouldn't THAT be the best buy ever??

Jem Vol. 1 is the one to buy
Fun , Exciting ,great songsand excellent story lines make this entire series so appealing great for kids of today and children of the 80s . Kid Rhino is doing an excellent thing by re-releasing these cartoons I look forward to Vol. 2 , Vol. 3 , Vol. 4 , ... etc. I love this video , Jem is my all time favorite cartoon

Jem is TRULY Outrageous!
This is the best DVD set EVER, bar none! I am just amazed how fresh and clear the sound and picture is. It's like I'm watching it again for the first time (and in surround sound). At the end of each DVD you can play all of the rock videos at once. I told my younger sister that I got this and she just flipped (she got really excited and started singing a Jem song that I didn't even remember untill I watched it again). She wants me to send the set to her so she can watch it...I said she can get her own. At first I thought the set might be a little pricey, but now that I have seen them, I would have paid four times as much. My boyfriend even sits down and watches them with me...I've even caught him singing the songs. A work of art!

Jem was my absolute FAVORITE cartoon as a little girl, and yes ... i know i'm 22, but i WILL be buying as many Jem videos as i can find. ;o) bet my future daughter will be watching it.

Bigger ever English Jem fan
This is one of my favourite Jem videos. It features 2 episodes:

"The World Hunger Shindig" Jem & The Holograms perform a concert hosted by Miss Sally to raise a lot of money for the poor. Eric Raymond then tries to stop Jem & The Holograms from performing the concert by hiring Zipper and his goons to lock them up so that The Misfits will perform instead of Jem.

"Adventure in China" Jem & The Holograms are scheduled to perform at the Great Wall of China. Trouble starts when the Misfits tag along and then steals the Jemstar earrings from Jem. The Holograms search everywhere for the Jemstar earrings but the earrings end up in a very unusual place. ... Read more

WERE MISFITS IN HAWAII, SINGING A HAWAIIAN SONG!!!
This video is brilliant and it features 2 spectacular episodes.

In "Hot Time in Hawaii," JEM and THE HOLOGRAMS are up against THE MISFITS in the Battle of the Music Stars but the event gets turned upside down because of an erupting volcano. THE MISFITS hire Zipper to train them in the art of cheating. Zipper then, kidnaps Kimber and ties her up under the erupting volcano. THE MISFITS are then disqualified for cheating!

In "Island of Deception" JEM and THE HOLOGRAMS & THE MISFITS work together to survive a beautiful but deadly jungle! ... Read more

JEM IS OUTRAGEOUS!!
The Talent Search is one of the very BEST Jem episodes! And in my opinion the best released to video. Shana, one of the Holograms, leaves the band to pursue a career in fashion. Starlight Music has to hold a talent search to find a replacement, even though the band misses Shana terribly. Two new and very important characters are introduced in this two part episode. The Misfits will not be upstaged by Jem again, they want to add a new group memeber as well. And that's only the beginning! I don't want to give anything away, but I highly recommend this wonderful cartoon. It was such a huge part of my childhood, and watching it again always brings back happy memories.

Awesome episode!!!
This episode is really good! I love Jem so much because it's a fun show and it has really cool songs.This episode is about when Shana decided to pursue her fasion career and decides not to be in the band anymore.Now... Jem, Kimber, Asha (i don't know if i spelled it right.) has to find another member to play the drums.They go all out trying to find someone but when Jem and her friends are talking with synergy someone accindently sees synergy and hears about the real Jem!Uh-Oh! ... WHAT MORE CAN I SAY ABOUT JEM THAN THAT IT WAS AND STILL IS THE BEST CARTOON I HAVE EVER SEEN! WATCHING JEM BRINGS ME BACK TO MY CHILDHOOD AND I JUST LOVE IT TO DEATH. IT WAS LIKE MY LITTLE SOAP OPERA. I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY HASBRO WON'T RELEASE THE SHOW TO T.V. STATIONS OR LET THEM MAKE MORE COPIES OF THE VIDEO. THIS SHOW SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO KIDS AND ADULTS ALIKE TO ENJOY EVERYWHERE AGAIN AND AGAIN. IF THEY BROUGHT JEM BACK IT WOULD BE TRULY OUTRAGEOUS!!

FAN-tastic
This is a terrific video, full if fun and adventure...it really embodies the lighthearted spirit of the 80's. I'm a huge fan of Jem, and I have been since she first aired. I've got some episodes (thanks to a loving mother), but I would LOVE to have the real thing!! Amazon, you've come through for me so many other times, will you help us rediscover Jem?

Totally Outrageous!
Jem is the best cartoon I have ever seen!
It brings back beautiful memories of my childhood, as well as being a great influence to me throughout my youth! I love Jem and her Hologram friends. The songs are incredible too! We need Jem (...)! Its been way too long!

One of the Best Eighties' Cartoons
This is one of the best Jem videos, mainly because it is a movie-length adventure with a real conflict and tangible story line. The great pastel and neon colors and wild clothing fashions combine with the hilarous upbeat songs to create a fantastic flashback to eighties cartoon rock!
I managed to rent and watch this video with several friends in college. My magical but vague memories from childhood were totally explained as I viewed Jem from an adult perspective. What child can resist a tale of good versus evil in the form an evil record company producer trying to steal his partner's orphan's inheritance that ultimately comes to a climax with a battle of the bands!

Jem is the Ultimate Cartoon!
Jem is a brilliantly animated cartoon! It was well-written and very inspirational to our youth. I, and so many others feel that Jem should be back! The children of the 90's are being deprived of this wonderful cartoon! Bring Jem back Amazon! Jem is the Ultimate Cartoon! This particular video listed as Jem "Truly Outrageous" is the first five episodes of Jem, consolidated into one tape and made sord of into movie. This VHS is the beginning of the madness, the excitement, the glamour, the fashion, and the fame. Highly reccommended! Truly Outrageous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When Jem first came out, I was just a baby! But I fell in love with her and I still catch myself singing songs like: TRULY OUTRAGEOUS AND DECEPTION. The cartoon has always put a smile on my face and even though I've seen it a million times, I just can't get enough of Jem and the Holograms....Hey I even love the Misfits!(MAKIN' MISCHIEF....REALLY MAKIN' MISCHIEF!) You can never go wrong with Jem!!!

Truly Outrageous!!!
I think this is the video I have on tape from 8 years ago. I used to rent the videos all the time from Blockbuster and my dad taped this one. I really wished he would have taped all the videos that I rented when I was a kid. If I am correct, this is the first tape where Jem meets Cynergy and finds out her alter ego. It is so awesome!!!

If there was ever a perfect cartoon series, "Jem" was & still is definetly it! Unfortunately, due to Hasbro's apparent lack of progress, all of the episodes are just sitting in their vault. (And they said that they have no plans to reintroduce the show.) Jem is a Legend for Life, being kept alive by collectors throughout the world.
