I would like to buy it !
CAn someone help me to find it ?

Thx

3-0 out of 5 stars Heavenly Bodies
First off all, let me start off by saying that this isn't a terrible movie like said by some. I will say that it does have a fairly weak storyline and that some of the lines don't help much either. But fine performances (most notably from Cynthia Dale) and some good moments of humour, romance and feel-good fun help this to become a pretty good movie. Dale plays Samantha Blair, a woman who is tired of office work, and decides to open up an exercise gym where aerobics is the thing they practice most often. When they are threatened to be closed down and sold, the staff and members of the gym decide to face the club buying them out and compete in a dancing marathon. Some interesting camera work, sexy 80s costumes and a nice little rock music score also add to the overall cool feel of this little-known "Flashdance" similarity.

5-0 out of 5 stars Aerobics Babes of the 80's
Think that about sums it up. Could be a dancer type flash dance movie. But basically it's a bunch of babes in leotards. I give 5 stars because I can't give it 6. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars ENTERTAINING BIOPIC...
This 1986 film features a very young, buff and brawny, athletic Nicholas Cage in the role of crude Canadian backwoods bootlegger, Ned Hanlan, who turned into a legendary world class rower. Discovered by an amateur oarsman and self styled entrepreneur named Bill (David Naughton), Ned, using a new style of boat with a sliding seat, is propelled to fame when he wins a race in Philadelphia against a heavily favored contender. His win was a total upset, bringing Ned under the scrutiny of a rich man's betting syndicate, headed by a wealthy man named Knox (Christopher Plummer).

Knox, a man used to having his way by any means necessary, makes Bill an offer he can't refuse. Knox then takes over Ned's future and gets him a professional trainer in order to prepare him for major races. In the meantime, Ned and Margaret (Cynthia Dale), Knox's comely niece, begin a flirtation that ultimately turns into a romance after much angst. When Ned finally gets an opportunity to race against the Australian world champion, he discovers to his consternation and dismay just how much faith Knox has in his ability to win. What follows next causes Ned to be banned from racing in the United States.

A chastened Ned, discarded by Knox, returns home and turns to Walter, the man who invented the boat with the sliding seat. He begs Walter to train him, so that he can enter and race in England on the Thames and vindicate himself. Walter really believes in him, so he gets Knox to agree to race his current boy wonder against his, but not before Walter has proffered Knox his life's dream. When the time for the race finally comes, betrayal, treachery, and skulduggery are the keywords of the day. To find out what happens during this career making race, and to discover what comes of the romance between Margaret and Knox, one should view this film. It will not disappoint.

Christopher Plummer leads the cast with his chillingly portrayal of the rich and unprincipled Knox. Nicholas Cage attacks the role of Ned Hanlan with boyish and engaging enthusiasm, while David Naughton delights with his portrayal of Bill, the former manager and erstwhile friend. Cynthia Dale is charming in the role of Margaret, the niece who finds herself adopting the role that she was pledged to play by her uncle. The rest of the cast is likewise uniformly excellent. This entertaining and informative film about a turn of the century athlete will fully engage the viewer.

This bizarre little horror movie is set in the mining town of Valentine Bluffs, which may be in Canada, though the odd, indeterminate accents of the cast are perhaps meant to suggest that it is truly a regionless everyland. In a cruel twist of fate, the Bluffers have not celebrated Valentine's Day in 20 years due to a terrible mining accident. This year is to be the first return of the Valentine's Dance--repeatedly described by adults as the biggest event of the year--but someone (or something?) is trying to put a stop to the fun by delivering heart-shaped candy boxes with real hearts in them. The dance is called off in the name of public safety, the young (well, youngish) people decide to hold a party inside the mine instead, and if you think we're getting out of this one without someone getting a pickax through the chest, you have no business watching slasher movies.--Ali Davis ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Won't you be mine?
Even in the annals of slasherdom, this movie just isn't very good. Not that I expect slashers to be masterpieces, but there is much lacking here. One of the primary omissions is gore--the film was literally butchered by the MPAA. Not only does this disappoint fans of the genre, but in all honesty, it really fudges the continuity of the film and even manages to mar the ending.

The acting here is strictly amateur hour. The direction is standard, by the numbers slasher fare. The script includes some great unintentional howlers, including the classic line, "We were having a party...and Harry Warden started killing everyone". The town mayor supplies some funny moments as he and the bumbling sheriff try and figure out who is sending bloody valentines (human hearts actually, with [bad] "Roses are red" poems attached).

You'll probably guess the killer pretty early on but keep watching for the murders. Well, most of the cast gets offed as if you couldn't guess. There's also the required old guy who tries to warn the townspeople not to throw another Valentine's Day party. His death is actually pretty funny as he tries to rig an elaborate practical joke and gets axed.

Most of the murders are cut pretty badly so that there is a real absence of blood. There is a beheading toward the end that doesn't look like a beheading because most of the scene was cut--I had to read about it to figure out what the heck happened. Not only that, but the ending is edited so that we can't even see what actually happens to the killer very well. Again, had to read about it.

What we do get is a pretty cool getup for a slasher killer: a miner outfit complete with pickaxe and lighted helmet. There is one very good stalking sequence featuring coal miner suits dropping out of their rigs in the ceiling and scaring a young woman nearly to death before her (heavily edited) death, which is never really clear.

The plot is weak, the characters pretty dumb and the gore compromised by picky censors wanting to tone down horror films at the time in the wake of John Lennon's death and Reagan's near-assasination. Oh well.

I would be seriously surprised if any company actually bothered to put out an uncut deluxe DVD of this film since, quite honestly, it just isn't very good....

Still, for fans of the genre, you might tack on an extra star just because this is a 1981 slasher and you just have to see it because.

4-0 out of 5 stars A bloody good time
After a Valentine's Day mine explosion caused by negligent supervisors eager to leave early for the town dance, sole survivor Harry Warden returned the following year for vengeance and left a bloody warning that the town of Valentine Bluffs better not hold a Valentine's day dance ever again...or else. Twenty years later, a new generation of locals (working class twentysomethings who all work in the mine) decide to have a dance on Valentine's Day, and guess who comes out of the woodwork? After the mayor gets a warning with Harry's M.O., he and the police chief order the fun-loving bunch to cancel the dance. They have a secret party at the mine instead, and with the warning unheeded, Valentine's Day suddenly becomes very unromantic.

This is my personal favorite of all the holiday-themed slasher films that trailed "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th". A few redundent characters, like the old man whose warnings fall on deaf ears, or the annoying prankster. There's some good acting and we actually have a love triangle; these movies usually don't bother with subplots or much character development. Having several terrified people trapped in a coal mine with a psychotic heavy-breathing miner is a novel touch. Too bad this didn't do much at the box office, an intended sequel was canceled. In 2001, director George Mihalka approached Paramount about doing a "20 years later" sequel, as well as an uncut DVD release, but they didn't give him the time of day.

3-0 out of 5 stars My Bloody Valentine
My Bloody Valentine is an interesting film. It's a horror flick and some of the acting is actually good. The characters aren't too memorable. The dialogue is fairly nice. There isn't much gore though for an 80's movie. The plot is well calculated and thought out.Paul Kelman and Lori Hallier do a great job in My Bloody Valentine. The movie has horror, comedy, and some romance if you look close enough. This is definetly a ok horror movie for being different nevertheless. The ending is also a big suprise.Twenty years ago, a tragic accident in a mine on St. Valentines day took the lives of five miner's. The disaster occurred while supervisors left their posts to attend the town's annual Valentine's Day danceThe only survivor,Harry Warden, was confined to a mental institution after the ordeal. On the disaster's first anniversary, he returned to the town for bloody revenge. That was nineteen years ago, and memories have dimmed. Young lovers T.J. and Sarah and friend Axel are among the townspeople attending another Valentine's party. Then, a box of Valentine candy arrives, containing an ominous message and a blood- soaked heart. Before the night is over, terror will strike again and again and again....

2-0 out of 5 stars Halloween and Friday the 13th spin off...
These horrific events began 20 years ago in the small mining town, Valentine's Bluff, when some miners got trapped in the mines and their rescue got delayed due to a Valentine's day party. The only survivor sought his revenge a year later by killing everyone who was celebrating Valentine's day. Now the curse is about to be brought back as the people of Valentine's Bluff are preparing for their first Valentine's day party in 20 years. My Bloody Valentine is a poor slasher film that seems to be a spin off from Halloween (1978) and Friday the 13th (1980), which offers an awkward cinematic experience.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bloody Good Fun
Paramount pictures had been enjoying success with Friday The 13th, so why not strike while the iron is hot? My Bloody Valentine came out at the perfect time(though not to much financial success) in the slasher heyday. I saw it when I was 5, and thought it was very scary. Now I think it's just silly, but fun! Basically there's nothing new here if you've seen any slasher flicks before. It's just fun to see variations on the subject. This time it's a guy in a miner's outfit, which is actually one of the cooler looking psycho slasher getups. As far as plot goes-Horrible mining accident years back on Valentine's Day. Flash forward to 81 and the killer warns the town not to throw a Valentine bash or there will be hell to pay(even though he starts killing before Valentine's Day). The kids don't heed the warning, tra-la, tra-la. The killer hacks away at our partying kids, gets mixed up in industrial espionage and battles a team of bloodthirsty mutant whales. There's also a subplot of two guys fighting for the affections of our leading lady. Not scary, but fun in that slasher way. I watched this suffering a bad gas attack from a BBQ chicken pizza I had ate earlier for dinner, so it all had kind of a 3-D effect with the dark, stanky, damp mine scenes. As you'll read, the MPAA took a special interest in this film and cut down the gore. I have no idea why coz you wouldn't let your kid watch this anyway. But it's still enough to satisfy. It's no less gory than the later Friday the 13th films. Watch with someone you love. ... Read more

The life of the great American showman is entertainingly chronicled in this dramatized biography starring Beau Bridges. While this made-for-TV movieisn't terribly ambitious, it does provide a credible look at how Barnum came to find that his calling in life was to dazzle people with things they could scarcely believe, all the time making sure that they paid handsomely to be "humbugged."As an ambitious youth at a time when America was enjoying explosive growth, Barnum's burgeoning career took off when he bought what was essentially a museum of freaks and frauds. As charmingly portrayed by Bridges, Barnum was a bundle of energy who instinctively knew what people wanted, and he unfailingly turned his acts, such as the famed midget Tom Thumb or the great soprano Jenny Lind, into national obsessions. This film captures the varied facets of Barnum's personality, from a natural playfulness that inspired his fantastic publicity stunts to a shrewd sense of business that could made him one of the wealthiest Americans of his time. And as Barnum was something of an emblematic American, this story of his life not only portrays a unique personality, but evokes the exuberant and growing American nation.--Robert J. McNamara ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Jack before Jack and great followup to Mac
If you can follow my title than you want this DVD!!!!! RDA is excellent. The good cop/bad cop cliche works VERY well in this story. RDA plays Jack Rourke, a cop who was arrested years ago under false charges, was cleared but has never been able to shake the fact that he never gets promoted. He can't hold a relationship with anyone. Then he meets a murder witness with a HUGE story behind her also. He spends the vast majority of the film deciding whether he will actually break the law and system that have been unfair to him or keep on the right side. The movie is great and would have to be one of Richard's best works.

3-0 out of 5 stars A must for Richard Dean Anderson fans
A bit predictable but still a must see for RDA fans.

2-0 out of 5 stars Another flick from the bargin bin.
Made-for-TV thriller that is more predictable than thrilling.

Lynn is an office-clerk with a mysterious past and a tall stranger following her. The last thing she needs is to have an armed robber tell her the location of 2 million dollars in loot before he commits suicide. The other crooks involved are convinced that Lynn knows where the money is while the police know she was listening to loud music on her headphones and couldn't here a word.

As luck would have it an embittered cop is designated to be her protector and after a few rolls in the sheets he finds out Lynn's ability to read lips (incredible co-incidence isn't it?). So plots and betrayals spring up on all sides and you never know who you can trust with two million on the loose.

You average TV movie. The most redeeming feature about the DVD is that there are no commercials. But I suppose that there are enough "Family Ties" fans out there to keep this one on the shelves for a while ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Think you can't have that dreamboat? THINK AGAIN!
If I had a dime for everytime I've watched this movie...LOL I'd be pretty doggone rich! Ricki Lake and Craig Sheffer are wonderful together as the most unlikely couple you'd imagine being together. I loved this film because it explores the realm of possibility that you don't have to be a supermodel or anorexic to find love and happiness. It also points out another very important issue about size. Grace knew she was big, but it was her confidence, attitude, and out going personality that made her sexy and ulitimately irrestible to Rob. A great "feel good" movie for any woman who has lost her confidence that she can have her dreamboat man! I highly reccommend this film!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Film!!!!!
When I first watched "Babycakes" years ago on television, I immediately fell in love with it! Ricki Lake does an excellent job playing Grace, an overweight lady with a larger-than-life personality and an even larger heart.

The story revolves around her struggle to "fit in" and finally have a boyfriend. Grace and her friend spot and handsome guy named Rob while ice skating, and Grace makes it her mission to make this guy her own. She tries just about everything, but the one thing that really got him was her ability to be herself and not worry about what others thought about her. It was through her relationship (both good and bad aspects) with Rob that gave her the self-esteem she desperately needed. The movie concludes with a happy ending that will leave a permanent smile on your face!

I highly recommend this film to anyone who would like to see an excellent, heart-warming film. This film really does let you know that you don't have to be the size of a model model to find true love, happiness, or respect and adoration - a lesson that so many people should learn. :) Watch this movie! You won't be disappointed!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A Cute Film
What I liked about this movie is that it is more than meets the eye. It is one of the best romantic comedies that I have seen in recent times, which is why I'm surprised that more people don't know about it. The storyline is pretty standard (overweight, pessimistic girl think she can't find love - but runs into the man of her dreams), but yet the movie was done in such a way that it seemed realistic and not too fairytale-like. It has a universal appeal, especially to those of us who have been through periods of our lives where we felt low about ourselves or negative about finding true love. Although Ricki Lake's character is "overweight", this movie would appea to any woman because the feelings she has in this movie are ones that relate to just about any woman, no matter your size or shape. This is a good film to watch on Valentine's Day or if you are ever in the mood for a good romantic comedy.

3-0 out of 5 stars A fair remake of a 1985 classic
This film is a remake of a German film called "Zuckerbaby" - translated Sugarbaby - by noted German filmmaker Percy Adlon (he also directed Salmonberries starring k.d. lang (and her video So In Love from the Cole Porter AIDS tribute cd, Red Hot +Blue) as well as "Bagdad Cafe" and "Rosalie Goes Shopping". This American version is indeed a sweet remake, but not as dark as the original. In the original film (which I prefer), Marianne Sagebrecht plays the Ricki Lake part. In it, the makepup artist for the dead spends much of the time trying to get the conductor on the train to notice her. She eventually wins his affection briefly. The difference is how the relationships are handled. In the original, the main character hs no friends or family in the area. She doesn't end up a winner, either. In fact in the original film, she is confronted on a dancefloor by the conductor's girlfriend, who calls her disgusting and beats her in front of everyone...she ends up ultimately alone...Zuckerbaby is highly recommended for anyone that has seen Babycakes..

5-0 out of 5 stars An old favorite
I cannot count how many times I have seen this movie, and I have loved it every time. Ricki Lake does a great job and while I will admit that in my pessimistic opinion it is a little unbelievable, but I say why shouldn't life be this way? When I am down or depressed and unhappy about the way I look, this is one of the first movies I reach for. A great chick flick. ... Read more
